the 5 olivers thing plagues me like i wish i could read his notes i wanna study his brain a little... in the variety article he does mention different olivers when facing different people so that might be one of the factors?
its rly driving me so crazy. i've got the whole pin board up in my head with red string connecting the dots trying to figure out exactly who our five olivers are. need an interviewer to take one for the team and just ask him to lay out the character(s) in explicit detail. i don't care how long it is. i don't care if it's boring to almost everybody else on the planet. we need it so badly.
it would help if we even had a clue about how his olivers are organized. if they're not chronological, is it by relationships with other characters? is there an elspeth oliver? a james oliver? a fucking michael gavey oliver? is it just organized by general demeanor? is oliver who desperately and quietly wants felix at oxford different from the oliver who begs to stay in felix's life before the party? are they the same? where does grave-fucking oliver fall in all of this? is he the same as bathtub, blood-sucking, obedience demanding oliver? are they all different?

so what i will be doing here is reposting my notes unaltered via screenshot, transcribing them, and then describing how i feel now. What do we mean when we say a bimbo is dumb? Are there multiple ways to be dumb?
Tumblr media
In the context of bimbo, dumb usually means "ditzy" -- flighty, playful, and scatterbrained. But "dumb" may also mean shallow, vapid, simple -- focused entirely on superficial and material things. Obnoxious, crass, trashy (classless) behavior could also be considered "dumb". Point is, there's a lot that goes into the presentation of stupidity. General physical clumsiness and aloofness can also be a way for a character to appear dumb. Or subservience and submissiveness. Or childish naivety and innocence. Sometimes a bimbo will be all of these, or only one of these, or maybe even none? Who's to say? What someone considers intelligent or unintelligent usually has to do with their own personal biases, or in this case, turn-ons. It varies from person to person. (Recklessness is an another example of what could be considered "dumb")
I still agree with this wholeheartedly. The debate of whether a bimbo should be dumb or not, or how dumb a bimbo should be, is ultimately pointless because in the end a bimbo will always *appear* dumb. You could even argue that what we've commonly come to accept as "the bimbo look" is actually an extension/reflection of purported "dumbness," a physical expression of stupidity. After all its this same projection that largely formed the concept of the "bimbo" in the first place. The assumption that a woman is -- slutty because she wears revealing clothing, stupid and impossible to take seriously because she's young (see: giggles) or has large breasts, and vain because she wears makeup or has an interest in fashion. "Bimbo," as we know it today just takes this up a notch. "Large breasts" become fake breasts in general. Lip fillers. Dyed hair. Tattoos. Rhinoplasty. Fashion Nova. Botox, acrylics, high heels, waist trainers. Misogyny projects idiocy and promiscuity onto these traits, procedures, items, and practices.
Again, let's take Adam Warren's Empowered for example:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Is Emp a bimbo? To the uninitiated I think the answer would be an obvious resounding "yes". Those familiar with the series may find the question more complex (it isn't). She's not a dumb woman by any means and has her fair share of successes and badassery, but she's also an inept curvy crybaby blonde with big thick lips and a very "slut-tastic" "do-me-riffic" costume.
Tumblr media
Her extreme insecurity can render her meek or oblivious. Constantly getting captured and tied up makes her look like a klutz. And I'm not sure this should count, but she likes sex with her boyfriend A LOT.
Tumblr media
She's also considered a bimbo in-universe. Not by anybody that knows her closely, of course, but its very widely assumed (as is often the case IRL).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's less a matter of "can bimbos be smart?" or "bimbos should be dumb" and more a matter of how do you prefer a bimbo's intelligence (or lack thereof) be expressed? What do we mean when we say a bimbo is "hyperfeminine"? What defines femininity?
Tumblr media
I think there's two ways to gauge this. Physical femininity - big ass, big tits, clean shaven, soft full lips, etc. Physical femininity can also be expressed through choices in makeup, color, or clothing. Take for example -- drag queens, who can express femininity very clearly while lacking some of the usually associated physical attributes. But then there's also, feminine behavior, the second way to gauge this. Feminine behavior is usually defined by… weakness. Submissiveness. And it's probably why it plays such a big role in this fetish. Feminine behavior can also be associated with gracefulness, gentleness, kindness -- being emotional, dependent, loyal, social, etc -- which are also themes commonly found in bimbofication works. Generally, one of the two (physical femininity or behavioral femininity) will be expected of a bimbo, if not both or a combination of varying degrees (for example: exaggerated soft pouty lips, slutty clothing, and submissive behavior - but a flat chest).
I don't have much to say about this. Yes, I still generally agree with this. It pairs well with my last point and the toolbox theory/sliding scale of bimboism (really not sure what to call it yet) The drag queen example is a little clunky though. I could've just used effeminate gay men in general as an example, and worded it a lot better...
Why does a bimbo act the way they do? Why the look? What does a bimbo want?
Tumblr media
For love. Or maybe it's attention, is there really a difference either way? A bimbo wants to be happy, and what makes them happy? Being adored. A bimbo wants to be able to light up a room through their looks, their personality, or maybe both. Some bimbos are happy making others happy. Some bimbos find happiness through what others do for them. Sometimes the love, adoration, and validation of others is enough. Sometimes it's for self-validation. But whatever a bimbo does, they usually do for themselves.
Tumblr media
Honestly, it depends entirely on the bimbo and the context in which she exists. A mean, manipulative, bitchy bimbo may act the way she does because she wants the respect or power she thinks she deserves. She values herself highly and thinks everyone else should too. A nice bimbo, ironically, might also act the way she does for the same reason -- because she's high value and pities low value people -- she rather attempt to share her value and be kind to those less fortunate in life.
This one has two because I struggled to come up with a satisfactory answer. Reading it back now I don't really see the point of this question. I still believe bimbos do things for themselves, that's kind of essential to me. I think its because of all the (terrible) bimbofication stories I've read where the man's pleasure is paramount. I do think this applies in general but those stories are really what motivates this "rule" for me. Bimbofication, for me, is not about control. I know it is for some people and that's fine but, and I've said this before, for me its more like MC author Pan (aka panwhowrites) said. Ironically, he's not a bimbo author and as far as I know doesn't really like bimbo stuff but what he said once that applies to bimbofication art and writing to me is that his biggest turn on and interest is female arousal.
The second answer I gave is bad because its half-expressed from my memory. It's based off this:
"Bimbos gravitate toward chaotic good, but are easily shaped by their environment: a bimbo that hangs out with mean girls, might easily assume that bullying is just good fun and doesn't hurt anyone; a bimbo that is spoiled by her sugar daddy can easily become a brat. a bimbo is shaped by her interests and environment like anyone else, don't write a walking self-parody stereotype."
which comes from further 4chan notes I never posted but hopefully will soon.

Ok I saw across the spidervese and i loved it!
But I have been thinking of a mini theory. I think our main spider crew are all are/ have anomaly's in their reality's, (and most of them came from their time with miles)
noir's event was that he brought colour into a world that was not meant to have it (the rubrics cube).
peni's is that her spider suit was destroyed just before she left. (so it could not be destroyed in the 'canon' way on her earth.
Ham had moments of true seniority, he's the one to tell miles "in this job[..]you can't always save everyone." and he has real tears as he leaves, which in the style he is presented in cartoons al a loonytoons by design don't learn/have deep moments of reflection (that aren't jokes/ aren't rug pulls)
pavitr happen when miles saved the captain.
Gwen was not meant to make another friend like her perter again but she found one in miles
and Peter B would not of had mayday without miles influence
I'm not sure about bite and punk, but i do think its interesting that miles has such a profound effect on everyone he meets that they would fight for him and even break the laws of their reality because of him.

ORANGE PEELS | minho established relationship. fluff.
Tumblr media
pairing: minho x fem!reader word count: 1.2k warnings: brief mention of not eating (nothing serious, reader is just really busy!) summary: minho and the orange peel theory
· · · ♡ masterlist · · · ♡ taglist · · · ♡
Tumblr media
“Well hello there beautifu—oh, okay. Or not.”
Minho blinks at the empty space where you’d just been standing, dumbfounded at the lack of enthusiasm at his arrival. When he realizes you’re not coming back, long gone into the living room, he makes his way inside.
“Sorry! I have to finish!” You call over your shoulder, hurrying back to your laptop. You seat yourself on the floor, back against the couch as you resume typing.
There are sounds of Minho toeing his shoes off at the door, bags being placed on the counter, and then eventually the rustling of his jacket as he shucks it off and throws it across the back of the couch.
“You’re not done yet?” He asks, crouching beside you. He knocks a kiss to your temple, and you let yourself lean into the touch for a moment.
“No,” you sigh, “I have, like, five pages left.”
“Babe, you realize it’s almost seven-thirty, right?”
“I know!”
“Okay, okay.” He throws his hands up in surrender.
Minho disappears after that, knowing how much you need space and silence when you’re focusing. You feel bad about it afterwards, not meaning to snap at him especially since tonight was supposed to be date night.
The two of you had plans to stay in; Minho was going to cook a small dinner while you picked out a series of movies, and then the both of you were going to plant yourselves on the couch for the remainder of the evening and celebrate the rare occasion of being off of work on the same night.
Everything got derailed when you woke up that morning and saw that you had an email notification from one of your professors:
Good morning all,
A gentle reminder that your reports are due by 11:59pm. Late work will be accepted with the stipulation that 10 points are deducted for each day that has passed since the original due date. If you have any questions about my late work policy, please refer to the syllabus.
Happy Friday!
Best Regards,
Professor Kang
The whole thing is entirely your fault. You’d failed to realize that the deadline had been pushed up by a week, your mind still under the impression that you had time to finish. Thankfully, you’d at least started the report. The down side was that out of a fifteen page paper, you only had around five done.
So, after a few messages to Minho where you apologized profusely, followed by a phone call where he reassured you that it was fine, the two of you still decided to go through with your plans. You’d been glued to your computer all day, desperately trying to finish before Minho was set to arrive. But as it turns out, the rubric for the assignment is a lot more detailed than you had originally thought, so the process has been rather slow.
“Have you eaten?” Minho calls from the kitchen, followed by the sound of your cupboards opening and closing. You respond with a sound of dismissal, your eyes scanning the screen for any typos.
“Babe?” He tries again.
“Huh? What? No, I haven’t.”
“Wrong answer.”
“Minho, I don’t have time—”
“I don’t care.” He says, his voice much closer this time. “How do you expect to get anything done if you’re hungry?”
“Haven’t even had a chance to be hungry if I’m being honest.”
“Wrong answer. Again.”
“It’s fine.” You shrug, looking up at him. He’s standing over you with his arms crossed, a disapproving look on his face.
When you turn your attention back to your laptop, he sighs in defeat, walking back towards the kitchen. You close your eyes for a moment, reminding yourself that he’s only trying to look out for you. Minho has never been a fan of your tendency to neglect yourself, especially in times of stress. So, in lieu of upsetting him, you call out,
“Can you toss me one of the oranges on the counter?”
Minho doesn’t respond. He’s probably sulking, something he always does whenever he’s upset. You briefly consider getting up to kiss the pout he’s probably sporting off of his face. But the clock is ticking, and if you finish the report, there’ll be more than enough time to do that later.
You’re so engrossed in your work, a helpful article that you managed to stumble upon giving you a huge amount of evidence for your final argument, that you don’t even realize it when Minho plops down on the floor beside you. You open your mouth to say something, turn your head towards him, and are met by his hand shoving a piece of orange into your mouth.
“Eat.” He says firmly, blinking when you slowly begin to chew. You stare at him with a confused look, releasing some of the tension between your eyebrows when he brings a finger up to poke the spot in the middle of them. “If you won’t do it yourself, I’ll do it for you. Just eat.”
You swallow, a small smile forming on your lips. Minho isn’t paying attention, his focus on the peeled orange in his hands as he breaks the pieces off one by one.
Soft and loving. Minho has always treated you the way you deserve. There’s never been a moment where you questioned how much he cares for you, not when he makes sure that you’re always his first priority. It doesn’t matter how tired he is, he’s always there, always ready and willing, always giving.
You lean forward and press a kiss to his cheek, laughing when he suppresses a smile, the shells of his ears a bright pink. “You’re cute, you know that?”
“Yeah and you’re a chronic procrastinator.” He’s quick to bite back, holding up another piece of the orange to your mouth. You take it from him gladly, and he can’t help but finally crack a smile.
“I’m sorry I ruined date night.”
“You didn’t ruin anything.” Minho says, reaching out to tuck a piece of hair behind your ear. “I already told you, it doesn’t matter what we do. I’m just happy we’re together.”
His words make warmth bloom in your chest. You turn to him, squishing his cheeks in both your hands. He blinks, “What?”
“Lee Minho. How did I get so lucky?”
He laughs at that, breathy and muffled from the way his face sits in your hands. “Well for starters, I’m the one who asked for your number, so if you really wanna get technical then—” He’s cut off when you lean forward and plant a big kiss on his lips.
“You didn’t let me finish.” Minho pouts when you pull away.
“You were getting cocky, I had to do something.”
“Says the person who ruined date night.”
“Hey! You said I didn’t—”
He shoves another piece of orange into your mouth, laughing when you cough around his fingers. He’s up and running in the blink of an eye, dodging your arms when you try to grab for his shirt. Minho’s quick, he waits for the opportunity and lunges for your waist, throwing you over his shoulder with a squeal. You beat your fists against his back, not really putting up a fight, though you’ll never admit that.
There’s only a few hours left until your report is due, but you can’t be bothered to care. Not when Minho is pinning you against the couch, hands poking your sides as he tickles you and kisses all over your face, the sound of both your laughter filling the apartment and the faint scent of oranges on his fingertips.

What I love about the forgotten legions in 40k is that you can construct some wild theories and there is no one to stop you. Games workshop doesn't care but we do.
But my personal concern is.
Tumblr media
The lore says unknown, but I am not satisfied with that response.
So today we will attemp to get inside Malcador's head and answer one of the Imperium's best kept secrets.
Tumblr media
The facts we have so far
Tumblr media
BUT WAIT.
The plot thickens because if we take it as fact that the geneseed was stolen from another legion we have to guess who is the father?
But fear not we have more evidence as to guess who might be.
1) All of the Grey Knights are sorcerers and pretty powerful ones at that.
2) One of the first hand picked, finger pointed, wholeheartedly selected Grey Knights was a Night Lord.
3) They are smug, walking talking warp magic nukes. They have that wap. Wild ass potential.
Also I am not joking. The Emperor saw that Night Lord and I guess was impressed by his human skin collection and agreed for him to join.
Malcador too. But at this point we all can agree Malcy Malc boy was a thief. Bad choices is his strongest suit.
SO.
👏🏻
Dad Theory No1
THE FATHER MIGHT BE. (empasis on might but it would be really funny if it was the truth)
Tumblr media
Same same. But now a different picture. From a better angle.
Tumblr media
The Crimson King is their dad.
Yes I am serious.
My limited research leads me to believe Magnus was the one... used for his geneseed by Malcador to create the loyalist version of nucler houdinis.
And you know what would make this theory even funnier if it was true.
Tumblr media
Oh yes. Or oh no. Its the same at this point.
If the Grey Knights are indeed just a bunch of Thousand Sons but painted chrome and artificially orphaned.
That bastard Malcador.
He created 1000 sons and did not even have the decency to tell them who their dad was.
1000 men left out in the cold. With no place to call home.
1000 Sons -
Tumblr media
1000 SONS PEOPLE THE GREY KNIGHTS ARE 1000 IN TOTAL. THATS THE FINAL CLUE WE NEEDED.
THEY ARE THE SONS OF MAGNUS BUT IN KNIGHT COSPLAY.
THIS IS CANON NOW.
MALCADOR STOLE MAGNUS SEED (THAT SOUNDS WRONG). AND MADE THE GREY KNIGHTS.
AND NOT ONLY THAT RUBRIC HAPPENED AND SINCE THOSE DUDES DON'T KNOW WHO THEIR DAD IS THEY PROBABLY WOKE UP ONE DAY +10 IN ALL THEIR STATS AND COULD NOT EXPLAIN WHY
Tumblr media
Case closed
This is canon now
What will games workshop do?
Refute it?

Are there any personality typology theories that you are less sceptical of?
Honestly, no. It's fun and all, to create rubrics and classifications and to try and schematise the vast and messy contradictions of humanity, but to actually take that sort of thing seriously is at best a bit foolish and at worst profoundly dangerous.
Our minds are bizarre and twisted mazes of electricity and flesh, constantly growing and breaking in a thousand new ways. And you tell me you can group them into tidy little categories?
Beyond that, the methodologies are all fundamentally flawed: self-reporting at best gives a picture of a person's self-image; and anyone else trying to judge is either assessing their own projections and experiences laid on a stranger or ticking arbitrary checkboxes that tell you nothing.
You can be in therapy for years and never reach anything approaching the "truth" of how your specific mind works and why, yet someone wants to tell you there's a neat typology of personalities that's good for more than a dinner party chuckle? Nah, mate - they're either trying to sell you some bullshit, or they've already been sold it themselves.

Tumblr media
I had never heard of this before, but as soon as you said it, I just thought thunderstruck by my own personal literary need for absolutely shameless on the nose horsie symbolism in Jamie Lannister’s story arc and personal development. that needs to happen, and you are a genius for revealing this to me 🐴

Hey! What books by POC got a majority yes result? I'm interested in reading more by authors of color but when I used the be loathed Tumblr search function the only posts it brought up as tagged 'result: yes' were by white authors. Also, any personal recommendations for sci fi by POC?
hello! don’t mistake the stats — no books by authors of color have gotten a yes result either here or on the fantasy blog, and I don’t think any are likely to at this point (if Jemisin’s The Fifth Season couldn’t do it on the fantasy blog, I highly doubt anything else will); authors of color simply have an average yes percentage here that’s only slightly lower than the average percentage for white authors.
I’m happy to give my own recommendations, though:
any of Samuel R. Delany’s sci-fi. I think Nova is maybe the most approachable starting point (and quite good in its own right), but if you want to jump off the deep end, I think Stars in My Pocket Like Grains of Sand is the greatest science fiction novel ever written; whether or not one agrees with that statement, I think it is pretty unequivocally the most science fiction novel ever written, by which I mean that no other book I’ve encountered or heard of has made such a thorough use of everything science fiction can be and do as Stars.
I also would be remiss to not recommend Octavia E. Butler; I’m personally not a huge fan of her books, but I do think every sci-fi reader should read at least one of them. the Earthseed duology (Parable of the Sower and Parable of the Talents) is probably most-discussed in recent years because they seem to parallel current developments in US politics, and the Xenogenesis trilogy (first book Dawn) is also considered a classic.
the elements of it that read as (at least potentially) science fiction upon publication now read as fantasy, but if you’re interested in something older, Pauline Hopkins’s Of One Blood, or The Hidden Self is an early work of science fiction/fantasy by a Black writer — it was serialized in 1903. it’s part lost world narrative, part last gasp of (pseudo)scientific mesmerism/animal magnetism theory, part troubled romance (caught up in turn-of-the-century racial politics).
Zainab Amadahy’s novel The Moons of Palmares is a cool (though a little short) novel about a racially diverse mining colony trying to break away from Earth’s capitalist / colonial domination.
I’ve enjoyed several of Aliette de Bodard’s Universe of Xuya books, which are mainly short — I think the first I read was On a Red Station, Drifting, and I also enjoyed The Tea Master and the Detective (even though I often don’t really care for Sherlock Holmes adaptations) and The Citadel of Weeping Pearls.
if you like science fantasy, I loved Jacqueline Koyanagi’s Ascension when I read it back in 2014. it hits a lot of ~found family~ notes that I think would appeal to what people on tumblr (say they) like.
I also would recommend any of Yoon Ha Lee’s books; I think the best starting point for his work is his short story collection Conservation of Shadows, which is incredible and also contains “The Battle of Candle Arc”, which I think is the best intro / preparatory reading for his Machineries of Empire trilogy (first book Ninefox Gambit), which is excellent (though very dark) but can be challenging to get into.
I read and enjoyed a lot of Nnedi Okorafor’s books in the past, although I haven’t read most of her more recent stuff, and I would particularly recommend Lagoon, as well as her short story collection Kabu Kabu, which includes some excellent sci-fi stories, especially “Spider the Artist” (also available online).
if by any chance you read Spanish, I can’t recommend Edmundo Paz Soldán’s Iris highly enough — incredible, deeply fucked-up novel about an anticolonial war in a corporate dystopia somewhere in ambiguously Latin America-slash-Oceania.
also “authors of color” isn’t necessarily the right rubric for these, since he’s Wajin in Japan, but if you like military sci-fi I’ve been really enjoying Tanaka Yoshiki’s Legend of the Galactic Heroes novels, although tragically Tyran Grillo’s translations of the middle novels are very bad.
Masande Ntshanga’s Triangulum was something I’d picked up entirely on spec at a bookstore a few years ago and it absolutely blew me away — I’ve been recommending it to everyone.
if you liked The Locked Tomb and ever found yourself thinking, “what if this decadent space empire ran on sex magic instead of necromancy”, I’d highly recommend Bendi Barrett’s Empire of the Feast
and some other short fiction collections (some with the same caveat re the utility of “POC” as Tanaka Yoshiki):
Gillian Ybabez, Homeward Bound, and other stories includes some sci-fi and some science fantasy, published as part of the now sadly defunct Trans Women Writers Collective booklet series and is still available through its successor, River Furnace.
Ted Chiang, Stories of Your Life and Others (now sometimes titled Arrival)
Hassan Blasim (ed.), Iraq + 100
Basma Ghalayini (ed.), Palestine + 100
Sofia Samatar, Tender  — Samatar is imo the greatest living fantasy author, but this collection is also about 50% sci-fi and she’s just as good at sci-fi.
most of it is realist but I have to mention Leanne Betasamosake Simpson’s This Accident of Being Lost, which has two excellent sci-fi stories (“Big Water” and “Akiden Boreal”); Simpson has imo perfect prose — never a word out of place.
Sunyoung Park and Sang Joon Park (ed.), Readymade Bodhisattva
Michel Jean (ed.), Wapke, which was originally published in French but is apparently now also available in English
it wasn’t all my preferred kind of specfic, but Chelsea Vowel’s Buffalo Is the New Buffalo is worth a read in any case.

Scholarly Sparks✨Part1 boo seungkwan  x reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
| synopsis: Seungkwan and Y/N have always been known for their intense rivalry in academia. They clashed in class discussions, exchanged heated arguments, and even took pleasure in getting under each other's skin. Little did they know that this passionate competition would eventually lead to something more profound.
| pairing: academic rival!seungkwan x gn!reader
| genre: fluff
| warnings: none
| w.c: 620
Tumblr media
Seoul University's lecture hall was a battleground, and within it, Seungkwan and Y/N were the undisputed champions of academic sparring. They were two stars, equally brilliant and equally determined, shining fiercely in the intellectual firmament. The air was charged with tension whenever they crossed paths, their debates fueling late-night discussions among their peers.
Seungkwan, with his sharp wit and unyielding arguments, was the embodiment of eloquence. Y/N, equally formidable, possessed an unwavering dedication to her beliefs. Their exchanges were a symphony of opposing ideas, and their rivalry was the stuff of legend. In whispered disagreements, they challenged each other's theories, dissected each other's perspectives, and pushed the boundaries of their intellects.
As they sat in the lecture hall, their hushed dispute echoed through the air, drawing the attention of those nearby.
"The structural complexity of proteins far outweighs the significance of nucleic acids in biomolecules.", hushed Seungkwan.
Y/N interjected, "That's exactly where you're wrong, Seungkwan. Without nucleic acids, the instructions for building those intricate proteins wouldn't even exist."
"But proteins carry out the majority of cellular functions. They're the workhorses of biology!"
"True, but without nucleic acids to store and transmit genetic information, life as we know it wouldn't be possible.", Y/N argued back.
Their argument delved deeper into the world of biomolecules, each counterpoint fueling their passion for the subject.
"Biomolecules are like puzzle pieces that fit together perfectly.", said Y/N leaning back into her seat.
"I don't agree with you."
"Nobody asked you to."
Tumblr media
As the semester progressed, Seungkwan and Y/N's intellectual rivalry only grew more fervent. However, they found themselves drawn together by their shared discontent with Professor Lee's grading practices.
"Can you believe Professor Lee's grading? It's as if he has a personal vendetta against us.", said Seungkwan almost slamming his books on the table.
"I know, right? It's like he's not even afraid to show how biased he is", Y/N agreed.
Their frustration was palpable as they sipped their coffee in a dimly lit campus cafe. A knowing glint in Seungkwan's eye hinted at a deeper connection forming.
"Maybe we should team up and expose his grading bias.", Seungkwan suggested
"You're suggesting we work together?"
"Only if you can handle it."
"Challenge accepted."
Their alliance against Professor Lee marked a turning point in their relationship. Late nights were spent dissecting rubrics, comparing grades, and strategizing their next move. With each meeting, their competitiveness evolved into camaraderie, and their disagreements turned into friendly debates.
Tumblr media
Seungkwan had discovered Y/N's favorite study spot, a quiet corner tucked away from prying eyes. It was a prime location for focused reading, and Y/N cherished it.
Driven by a mix of mischief and curiosity, decided to stake his claim. He took up residence at her cherished spot, just to see the irritation flash across her face. Something about it made his heart beat faster.
Y/N walked into the library, her eyes narrowing as she spotted Seungkwan comfortably settled in her corner. She approached him, a mixture of annoyance and bemusement on her face.
"You're here again, in my spot?", she said.
"Just to see you annoyed.", said Seungkwan in his teasing tone.
"You're unbelievable."
Their rivalry had transcended the classroom and was now spilling into every aspect of their academic lives, including the halls of the university library.
Days turned into weeks, and the library became their battleground. Seungkwan's presence in Y/N's favorite spot was a persistent thorn in her side. She tried sitting elsewhere, but it was never the same. The thrill of their library wars added a unique dimension to their interactions.
One evening, as Y/N approached her corner only to find Seungkwan once again occupying it, she couldn't help but smile.
"You're relentless.", she said almost grinning.
"And you're stubborn. But that's what makes this so interesting.", said Seungkwan shrugging his shoulders.
Their playful banter and the unspoken challenge in their eyes spoke volumes. Their library wars had become a peculiar courtship ritual, a way of acknowledging each other's presence and pushing the boundaries of their rivalry to new heights.
As they competed for space amidst the hushed whispers of knowledge, little did they realize that they were inching closer to a truth they were yet to admit to themselves—an undeniable attraction that went beyond rivalry, a connection that was growing stronger with each exchange of words and each shared smile in the library's quiet corners.

One sunday afternoon, the campus grounds provided an unexpected backdrop for Seungkwan and Y/N's rivalry.
Y/N had decided to enjoy the rare sunny day and was engrossed in a novel while sitting under a tree, the gentle breeze ruffling the pages of her novel. Seungkwan, with a mischievous glint in his eye, couldn't resist the opportunity to challenge her even in this idyllic setting.
"You really can't escape reading, can you?"
"Seungkwan? What are you doing here?", said Y/N surprised to meet him on a sunday.
"Just thought I'd take a break from the library and enjoy some fresh air.", said Seungkwan
"Fresh air? Or just another chance to challenge me?", teased Y/N
"Both, perhaps.", chuckled Seungkwan.
Their banter had become as much a part of their interactions as their shared passion for knowledge. They fell into a comfortable rhythm, their conversations a blend of rivalry and camaraderie.
"You know, Seungkwan, you're like a persistent rain cloud that follows me around."
"I prefer to think of myself as a source of intellectual stimulation.", Seungkwan defended
Their playful arguments continued, the campus grounds providing a serene contrast to their lively exchanges. The trees overhead offered shade, the soft hum of distant conversations filled the air, and the sun cast a warm glow on the pages of Y/N's book.
"You really love reading, don't you?", he whispered.
"And you, linguistics."
"It's fascinating, isn't it? How language shapes our understanding of the world.", said Seungkwan lying down on the grass his eyes searching yours.
Their rivalry had taken on a different flavor in this tranquil setting. Amidst the open space and the beauty of nature, they found themselves sharing more than just academic challenges.
"It's strange, Seungkwan. We argue so much, yet I look forward to our debates.", Y/N admits.
"That's because it's never dull with you, Y/N."
Their conversation deepened as they discussed their academic aspirations and their dreams for the future.
As they sat on the campus grounds, the playful rivalry between Seungkwan and Y/N was juxtaposed against the peaceful surroundings. It was a moment of unexpected connection, where their competitive sparks blended with the warmth of the sun and the serenity of the campus, leaving them both with a sense that perhaps there was more to their relationship than academic competition.

i am young. physically, in age. i enjoy reading your posts, they make me laugh and ponder things, cry sometimes. yet some of your rubrics (did i use that right?) are beyond me. even though i do not always understand every word you write, if im lucky they meet together as a whole, a poetic web or stream. how can i, too, in all my naivety, write like that?
you have to hurl yourself into the works you’d like to be able to compare yourself to. ive spent a lot of time reading critical theory and, when i love a word or sentence, i add it to a sticky. sometimes if i feel like im losing my touch i open hartman’s scenes of subjection to remind myself what real, inaccessible, beautiful writing feels like

sometimes I feel like the CritRole fandom needs one of those theory matrices / grading rubrics that the ASOIAF fandom half-jokingly uses
I mean, luckily, the speed of absolute mind-numbingly bonkers theories has significantly slowed down to the point that making one even for shits and giggles isn't worth it, but god sometimes I see a theory that makes me think we need one
