Noah/Mirage: An appreciation post

...because I kid you not, Noah/Mirage has officially taken over my brain. Ask me how many fics I've read of these 2 since Sunday. I have actually lost count. 🤭

I like that there's something in the Noah/Mirage tag for everyone. There are multiple categories like:

Angst

Hurt/comfort

Friendship

Fluff

Smut

Comedy

And so on

I also like that with each passing day more and more fics get uploaded to AO3 and here and they just keep getting better and better! More chapters for stories that I initially thought would be oneshots. Yes please! And don't even get me started on the fanart! 😍 Absolutely gorgeous work! I am always terrified to draw characters from Transformers because I fear that I will get too caught up in trying to draw all the details, even though I don't have to do that. I just need to freaking draw! 🤪 It's an internal struggle and it's why I haven't really contributed to this tag yet. (shame on me) But just seeing all the wonderful artwork of these 2 makes me so happy because it means other people get it. There are other people out there like me that like Noah/Mirage and they understand just exactly who these characters are and what their story is.

I still cannot get over the little factoids for ROTB, like how that line...you know which one 😉 was actually improvised by Pete Davidson! Like he channeled his inner Mirage and said it because he just knew Mirage would say that. I love that! Or how the folks from the official Transformers socials have seen content for these two and they just rolled with it [pun totally intended]. They are encouraging Noah/Mirage fans because they know what's up and they know we know what's up. It's glorious!

I like that many fanfic writers have devoted so much of their time and energy to write juicy fanfics for this tag. They stay up late to write these fics and I stay up late to finish reading them. It's a total win-win! 🙌🏾 And even though there's only a handful of fanfics for Noah/Mirage at the moment, I just know that we will hit 100+ fics in good time on AO3. I can't wait!

Okay, I think I'll shut up now and just squeal in anticipation for tonight as I get ready to watch ROTB for the third time. It's going to be great and I can't wait! 😀

My father was martyred by Israel on 10 October 2023 after sacrificing his care in hospital so the injured children could take priority. Today would have been his 60th birthday. He was always selfless, kind, and giving for others. My father gave up everything for me to be able to have a better life, because that is what he always dreamed for me and my sister. The world suffered a great loss when he died, and my heart is always with him and every Palestinian who has lost someone.

In his honour and memory, I would love for anyone who is able to do so to consider donating to The Palestine Children’s Relief Fund.

The PCRF is an amazing organisation that does so much for those in Gaza right now, including helping provide food, water and medicine. You can donate any amount you are able to- there is no minimum! My father would have given his very last cent if he saw the way Palestine was continuing to suffer after over 100 days with this limited aid, so I know celebrating him by helping others is the least he would have wanted.

I saw @parrot-parent do a very successful donation match and I thought it was such a good idea so I will also match all donations up to $500! If you feel comfortable sending me proof of the amount of your donation, I will match it as a donation at the end of February. (My messages are set to mutuals only, but if you donate and we aren’t mutuals if you send an ask with the proof I will make sure to answer it privately.)

Mongolian history class, 2022, start of the semester. We're having a discussion on animal slaughter, featuring the one Mongolian student in our school.

The student explains that he's slaughtered animals himself, and there are two ways of doing it that avoid the spilling of blood. For a small animal like a chicken, you reach up into the chest of the animal and sever the arteries. For a larger animal like a camel, there's a spot on the forehead that, when hit hard enough, causes the animal to die instantly.

While this discussion is going on, a couple of the students are sharing something back and forth on their phone

The professor calls this out, asking if what they're sharing is more interesting than Mongolian animal slaughter

The room is dead silent for a few seconds. The two students look at each other awkwardly.

Eventually, one of the students pipes up:

"Well, the queen of England just died."

And without missing a beat, another student:

"Did they hit her on the head like a camel?"
