raindrop autism boyfriends... Dew is sensory seeking whilst Rain is sensory avoiding. so i (along with @divine-misfortune and @gh-woah-st) present to you:

Dew in the Abbey's recording studio booth shredding on his guitar just making as much noise as possible and Rain in the control room with his noise cancelling headphones on reading a book. they're both in environments that they find the most comfortable while still spending time together and enjoying each other's company (parallel play babeyyyy).

if they need to talk to each other they sign through the glass. like Rain noticing Dew trying to get his attention and when he looks up Dew signs "i love you". in response Rain gets up and breathes on the glass to make it fog up so he can draw a little heart in it.

they both take little moments away from whatever they're doing to just subtly watch the other and the way they get absolutely lost in their respective activities. Rain loves watching Dew's skilled hands and Dew loves seeing how Rain's facial expressions change as he turns each page. and occasionally they'll both look up at the same time and catch each other's eye and break into the goofiest grins and giggles. and god does Dew love the little shake of Rain's shoulders as he laughs and the way he tries to stifle his giggle in the back of his hand even though Dew cant hear him.

Rain makes Dew take proper breaks so that he doesnt strain his hands and Dew spends the whole break nuzzled into Rain's side while the water ghoul massages and stretches his hands. Dew will ask what's happened in the book so far and Rain will explain it all to him and gets really into it while Dew just listens and stares at him with so much love and adoration. when Rain's finished explaining, Dew will take a quick swig of water and kiss him on the forehead before going back in the booth.

i feel like not enough ppl are factoring in the cultural clash between laios and shuro and the many micro agressions shuro faced while being in their group. literally the name 'shuro' in itself is one

his name is toshiro 😭 lets also not forget that he has his own communication issues, in the opposite way that laios does- thats literally a factor in their argument, that his envy for laios's ability to express himself sincerely manifested as part of his distaste for him.

ig all this to say like, was their fight heart wrenching, especially when reading laios as autistic? absolutely. anybody whos ever been in laios's position knows how much it hurts to realize someone you thought was your friend doesnt actually like having you around, especially when they didnt tell you and you had no way of knowing due to not understanding their cues. but im begging yall to step back and see the nuance of this situation cause im gonna be real a lot of you are kinda just brushing over it acting like everything is toshiros fault and that hes a terrible person when in reality hes an average guy who really, really clashed with laios and it led to a very long misunderstanding due to their supremely opposite methods of communication. even laios and toshiro, after letting everything out in their fight, were able to come to an understanding and start a foundation for an actual friendship built on better communication

getting emotional over footage of an amateur scuba diver interacting with a coelacanth. they are hunted by large deepwater predators, and here comes a large creature bearing the brightest lights it's ever seen, making strange noises, but it does not shy away. it hovers, calmly, as the diver reaches out and trails a hand down its back. im strongly against the anthropomorphizing of real life animals but the stupid emotional part of me loudly insists this is because it recognizes us, the alternating movements of its four paired limbs matching the diver's four paired limbs, & it is thinking, "hello, cousins, we missed you these 66 million years, it's so good to see you again. welcome back, welcome home."
