Eclipse Theories

(strap in this is gonna be LONG. I'm so hyperfixatied right now.)

Theory 1: Eclipse isn't a third AI, they are Sun and Moon combined into one AI.

Edit: Youtooz basically just confirmed this!

This theory has quite a lot of evidence that I will go through in this post, but I must get something out of the way first.

I've never watched The Sun and Moon Show, but to my knowledge, SAMS Eclipse IS a third AI separate from Sun and Moon. So I'm guessing that's where the misconception about Ruin Eclipse comes from, since that series is quite popular.

But there have been SOME fans (not all SAMS fans, but some. no hate to the nice fans or creators.) that are spreading around misinformation about Ruin so I'll just say this.

The Sun and Moon Show is fan-made. It is not canon to the actual FNAF storyline. Therefore, it shouldn't be brought up as evidence when discussing theories about canon DCA lore. It is also rude to complain to Steel Wool when their lore doesn't match up to a FAN-MADE story.

With that out of the way, onto the theory!

1. Eclipse's Name

defintion of eclipse: an obscuring of the light from one celestial body by the passage of another between it and the observer or between it and its source of illumination.

An Eclipse is when the Sun goes infront of the Moon, obscuring it (or vice versa).

But in most media, an Eclipse is a mixture of the Sun and Moon. So by naming this character ECLIPSE, its pretty clear that Steel Wool is trying to tell us that they are a mixture of Sun and Moon.

Think about it, if they wanted Eclipse to just be a third AI separate from Sun and Moon, why on Earth would they name them ECLIPSE? There are plenty of other space-related names they could've gone with! (Star, Cosmo, Nova, a roman planet name, a greek god related to space name, a constellation name, etc.) It'd be silly to name them Eclipse if they weren't an Eclipse!

2. "Reboot! Reboot! We need to be whole."

Listen I don't know how else to put this, but I think this line pretty much confirms this theory. He doesn't tell us to get rid of Moon, he doesn't tell us to remove any sort of virus, he doesn't just say "Reboot us!" and leave it at that. Sun specifically tells us that rebooting him will make them 'whole' again. He even says 'WE'. As in, him AND Moon. And he confirms that being whole is a good thing because otherwise he wouldn't have asked us! He even says they 'NEED' it.

I know Sun has a habit of speaking in riddles, but there are THOUSANDS of other ways he could've worded that if SteelWool intended Eclipse to be a third AI.

Like. C'mon. What more do you want from me?? I'm going full English teacher on this single sentence!

3. Personality

Okay now let's go full PYSCHO-ANALYSIS mode on them! May be a little hard since Eclipse only has one scene of screentime but I can make it work!

So, Moon's personality is very aggressive. He was 100% okay with killing Cassie and Gregory, was implied to dissemble staff bots and glamrock endos, and is very intimidating and creepy. (Plus, has succeeded in killing at least two kids if you count the books.)

Moon cares more about rules then he does people. He's so determined to make kids sleep at naptime that he attempts to KILL them, without any thought of their life.

(Sorry for all the Moon slander. He is a silly billy I know but I'm trying to make a point here, it's necessary I promise.)

The only time we see Moon acting friendly is in merch and posters. But this was confirmed in the Security Breach Files to just be a cover up by Pizzaplex publicity department to make Moon seem less creepy.

Edit: This note from the FNAF Cookbook also confirms this:

The one trait Moon DOES share with his fabricated merch personality, is calmness. Moon is aggressive and creepy, sure, but he's not loud or panicked like Sun is. He chases us very slowly and carefully instead of charging at us, he waves at us in the elevator and after knocking out Freddy, and his voicelines are menacing but in a quiet way, yknow? Idk how else to describe it.

He IS a lot louder and panicked in Ruin, but that's probably because of the bad state he's in and the fact he doesn't want the lights on. Hes angry, but not in the way Monty or Roxy are in the first game. SteelWool still makes it clear to point out this personality trait.

Now onto Sun!

Sun cares about people and isn't violent. It's clear he doesn't want to see people hurt. This is seen when he invites Gregory to arts and crafts, warns him about the lights, warns Cassie when it isn't safe and thanks her for her help.

But although Sun has good intentions, the situation he's in makes it hard for him to really be comforting to people. It's been reported on several occasions that kids are just as scared of Sun than they are Moon. This is probably due to his paranoia. He's constantly afriad of Moon coming out and hurting someone, and is desperate to keep the lights on. He's going...a small bit insane, but who can blame him! He's in a very stressful situation, and I feel very bad for him. Hes definitely TRYING to act the way Eclipse does but something is MISSING! Still, it is worth pointing out that the fandom tends to mischaractize him and take away some of his more eccentric traits. Traits that are essential to his personality and story.

He's also very energetic and loud. Overall, it seems he is missing the ability to CALM DOWN. Calm down?? You see what I'm getting at here??

All this considered, do you see now why I think Eclipse's personality is a mixture of Sun and Moon. He is calm and cares about rules, but also cares about people. He was very comforting to Cassie without a hint of violence or anxiety. He even wished us a faz-errefic day!!

I don't think Sun and Moon are SUPPOSED to be apart, and that's why they act the way they do. In Eclipse, all their personality traits balance out. But when they are apart, there's nothing to balance it out. Moon is violent and only cares about rules, because SUN is the one that is friendly and cares about people. Sun is anxious and eccentric, because MOON is the one that is calm and collected.

Edit: This line from the FNAF Cookbook also implies this?? Specifically the phrasing of "everything moon isnt."

Thats why Sun specifically ASKED us to make them whole again, because he understood that they needed to be together to have a stable personality!

Moon isn't dead or anything, his personality has just be incorporated into Eclipse. Y'know Steven Universe fusion? Y'know that one TPOH theory I made? It's like that.

Not to mention that this is literally the plot of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde and the explanation of why Hyde is evil. DCA has been compared to this book twice, once in Tales of the Pizzaplex: Bobbiedots Conclusion, and again the FNAF Character Encyclopedia.

But, if Eclipse is obviously the safer and kinder option for a daycare attendant, why were they split apart into Sun and Moon in the first place?

Theory 2: When, How and Why was Eclipse split apart?

I'm not 100% confident in my theory about this yet, so I'll do this differently. Inside of saying my theory and THEN giving the evidence supporting it, I'll do it backwards. I'll lay out all the pieces of evidence first and make a theory after. This way, you'll understand where I'm coming from and it'll be easier for people to correct me if they find a better version of my theory.

Evidence:

Fazbear Entertainment must've wanted this to happen because rebooting them is very easy and there is merch of Sun and Moon around the Pizzaplex.

Eclipse must have worked in the Daycare at some point, because they talk about kids coming in and cleaning up in their dialogue.

Eclipse was most likely the original DCA because rebooting them restores them to factory settings, aka how they were first made, aka Eclipse.

Fazbear Entertainment must've had a reason not to reboot them after they realised Moon went wrong.

Vanny/Vanessa must've had something to do with this. There is purple glitches in the Eclipse Arcade machine, a drawing of a bunny in the daycare and graffiti of Vanny outside the Daycare.

They can't be effected by the same version of the Vanny Virus the Glamrocks are because that is implied to only take effect the night Gregory came to the Pizzaplex, and Moon has been evil a lot longer than that.

Okay! To start off this story, Eclipse was the original daycare attendant. The way we see them in Ruin is just Ruined Sun and Moon, so I'm guessing they used to look like Arcade Eclipse. (Yeah I know they look creepy but let's be honest they all do.) Arcade Eclipse looks a lot more like an actual ECLIPSE and has the lore implications I mentioned.

Eclipse worked at the daycare and the kids weren't afriad of them because their personality was friendly and caring, just like the way we see them in their one scene.

(Or if you follow the book narrative. They worked in the theater and acted the PART of Sun and Moon, but weren't the real deal since obviously you couldn't have a real murder robot on stage. Offstage they were just Eclipse. That's why they already had the transformation mechanic, plus merch. When they were moved to the daycare, they could have met Cassie when it opened, or before it opened, since she was been established to get early access to stuff like the Foxy Logride. Since its implied Cassie went to the daycare before and talks about it positively. Which wouldnt make sense if she met Sun and Moon. But I don't know if the books are canon or not.)

Its revealed in SB that Vanessa got the job as security with no experience and with a recommendation. She's also the ONLY security guard. From this we can infer that she is somehow able to pull strings in Fazbear Entertainment to get things going in Vanny's evil plan.

With this information, I think it was HER that confirmed Fazbear Entertainment to re-theme the Daycare to Sun and Moon. They might have wanted to use Moon as a Naptime AND Security Bot. The switch to turn off the lights is in the Daycare SECURITY office, Moon patrols the Pizzaplex at the end of each hour like a security guard, and Vanessa never seems to question it during her patrols.

Vanny specifically split them so that Moon was evil. And when Fazbear Entertainment realises what happened, Vanessa convinced them to not go through the trouble of re-theming the Daycare again so they just added generators and told Sun to keep the lights on.

The problem was that Sun still remembered being Eclipse. The drawing on the bottom seems to be of Eclipse. The one on the top has Moon's hat and different facial expressions for both of their face sides.

This also explains why the Eclipse Arcade Machine is in Sun's room, he probably stole it. Plus, in the AR version of Sun's room in Ruin, there's an image of Arcade Eclipse on the ceiling.

Thats why Sun told us to reboot him, because he knew they'd go back to being Eclipse.

So overall I think Eclipse is a happy ending for both Sun and Moon, and completes their mini character arc! That said, the amount of screentime they got was CRIMINAL and I hope we see more of them at some point.

(Edit: Updating this with more evidence!)

4. Design

In scenes where Moon is in control of their body, his left eye glows red and the right one is black.

In scenes where Sun is in control of their body, his right eye glows yellow and his left one is black.

The eyes are clearly meant to represent which personality is in control.

When Eclipse is in control, their right eye glows yellow AND their left eye glows red. This represents that both Sun and Moon are in control of their body.

If Eclipse was a new person, then their eyes would glow a completely new colour to represent them being in control. Or they wouldn't glow at all, to represent neither Sun nor Moon being in control.

Eyes are the window to the soul, and eye colours are known to have a lot of significance in the FNAF lore, like with Circus Baby!

In Ruin, Sun and Moon's arms don't glow at all. They barely have any colour because they are so broken and damaged.

But Eclipse's right arm glows yellow (Sun's signature colour) and their left arms glows blue (Moon's signature colour). I also think this represents both Sun and Moon being in control.

If Eclipse was a new character, then their arms would glow a completely new colour, or not glow at all.

This feels almost MORE intentional than the eyes, because someone had to 3D model an entirely new glow effect for ONE scene.

If that isn't visual storytelling, I dunno what is.

Edit: I also noticed that in the cutscene when you reboot them, there is a moment where they seem to be shaking and struggling, before they stop and start talking as Eclipse.

Its kind of hard to see since Sun's pupil are very bright but in this scene, both of their eyes are glowing, but they are looking around in different directions. This gives the impression of the eyes being mismatched and not yet working in unison, as eyes normally do.

Then they go quiet, their head looks down for a second, springs back up, and we have Eclipse! Eclipse's eyes are both glowing and facing the same direction, and continue to work in unison even as they move around during the rest of the cutscene.

The fact that the animators took the time to add both of their eyes glowing as they were struggling, instead of just waiting for when their head leaned down (and their face went out of the camera shot) to change their eyes, means this was important.

I kind of see this as Sun and Moon's personality "recalibrating" with eachother as they rebooted. As in, it took awhile for their code to get used to the fact that they were now both controlling their body now. Their body convulsing in this moment as they became un-paralysed also suggests this. Plus you can see their arms start glowing.

Sort of like when you reboot a computer and it takes awhile for it took clear out all the bad data and start up again.

Edit: But! When I watched their cutscenes in slow motion, I notice that Eclipse still moves a bit out of sync even while they are talking and fully rebooted. Not the same way they did when they were split up, but enough to give the impression that this body is controlled by two people. And that they aren't completely used to it yet.

You could make the argument that I am overanalyzing these animations, but as an animator myself, I know how long it takes to complete and animation and these details being intentional is a lot more probable then you might think.

After Eclipse says "Happy Birthday" he brings both his hands up to his chest in a friendly pose. But, if you slow the clip down, you see that Sun's arm clenches its fist awhile before Moon's arm does, while his arm is still off to the side and not at his chest. It's only after awhile do they actually hold hands, with Moon's arm grabbing onto Sun's. This gives the impression of them being slightly out of sync, but still trying their best to work together.

This may just be because Sun's pupil is harder to see, but I also think their eyes look very vaguely out of sync in some parts if you slow it down.

And Eclipse even does Moon's signature wave with their Moon hand when they say goodbye to you. Showing that some of their characteristics still carried over after being merged together.

Also-also, the one peice of evidence that is flimsy in my theory is Sun's 'thank you' at the end of this sequence. Some people interpert this to mean that Sun is still conscious within Eclipse so therefore he has to be a third AI.

I think the fact that it takes a moment for Eclipses system to fully reboot could also explain this moment, but not disprove my theory.

The whole Eclipse talking scene takes up around 20 seconds. It's not crazy to believe that some of Sun's code may not be calibrated yet. Plus, it's implied that Eclipses losses some if not all of his memories when he reboots, so this could be what's left of Sun's individual code thanking Cassie for helping them, since they would forget to do so when they are fully rebooted. This is backed up by what I said about Eclipse still moving a little out of sync.

Or its meant in a more symbolic way. Since we don't SEE them say this, it gives it a ghost-like vibe. Like a final send-off for Sun's character, as we know it. Confirming that they are finally OK.

Or or Eclipse is able to subconsciously slightly split themselves apart again to allow their Sun half to talk to Cassie. (or maybe they can just use Sun's voice if they want to.) Reminder that partial eclipse's exist! That's something to think about!

Either way, I don't think this scene necessarily deconfirms my theory on Eclipse. But it is very interesting.

5. Writing

Ok so this section will get into more meta stuff like the rules of storytelling and the future fnaf games. If you think that stuff is too subjective to be seen as evidence, then I see your point, but I want to add it anyway since its an element of theorising that is often overlooked.

(Feel free to just skip this part tho if you don't like it, since this theory already has decent enough evidence without it.)

So let's be honest, I think that Ruin was the end of DCA's story. Sure they had cameos in help wanted 2 but that all took place before Ruin and therefore didn't feature Eclipse. We have to remember that DCA is a side character, so even if they do get more cameos in later installments, I doubt it would be anything substantial. The writers dont have much reason to place all the spotlight on him. And from how little we see characters from older fnaf characters in modern games, I don't think the SB characters will be any different, unfortunately.

And from how it's treated narratively, I really think that them getting rebooted is supposed to be the end of DCA's character arc. And a happy one, at that.

And, if we assume this is true, then Eclipse being a third character makes absolutely ZERO sense. The entire storyline falls apart.

And, like I said before, they way people view DCA is often influenced by fanon AUs, headcanons, etc.

And in fanon, this isn't a problem! It doesn't matter that this is the end of DCAs story, because they could just write more fan story! They could explain everything about this new character, Eclipse, how Sun and Moon feel about him, what happens after that and after that. And that's fine, I'm not trying to be the fun police and say you can't do that.

But when you make the jump from "fanfiction" to "legitimate theory I think is canon" you need to keep in mind that SteelWool has...actual professional writers writing their story. So therefore you need to play by their rules if you want your theory to be solid. And the rules say that they don't have much time to develop DCA's story after this.

So, let's see how Eclipse being a third character wouldn't make sense for a proffesional writer to do, in the context that this is the last we will see of DCA, for the most part.

First of all

WHO THE FUCK IS THIS GUY??? We've been following Sun and Moon this whole time and now you are just gonna drop this random third twink on us?? And then end the character arc and leave this new guy with exactly one scene of screentime??

I mean, he had a little build-up but not enough for him to stand on his own two feet as a full character! Where's he been all this time?? What's his job?? What do Sun and Moon think of him?? Why does rebooting them to factory settings trigger him to take control for some reason??

Eclipse being a combination of Sun and Moon fixes this problem. Because we already know who he is! Technically any Sun and Moon screentime we had at this point counts as Eclipse screentime, because we can guess how Eclipse would act by combining the two. And I think his lore involves just a little less 'making stuff up'.

Second of all,

What the hell happened to Sun and Moon?

No but seriously. Are they dead? Because that's the only explanation people are giving me!

People say stuff like "oh they were finally put to rest 😔" NO??

This whole narrative was about Sun and Moon fighting for control over their body, and how much pain that caused them. How is that suddenly a good thing when some other THIRD GUY takes control of their body instead? Don't they just get send to whatever subconscious purgatory they are in when they aren't in control? Sun is still paranoid mess, Moon still wants to murder people, and they both still hate eachother. Nothing has REALLY changed.

How is that a happy ending? Why on earth would Sun THANK us for that??

Again, my theory clears that up because now Sun and Moon are BOTH in control, and don't have to fight anymore.

Do you see now how Eclipse being a third AI destroys any type of closure and satisfaction the ending gave? Plus I think it's just makes everything CANONICALLY less interesting, in my opinion. And because of that I really don't think it's how Steelwool intended the ending to be interpretated.

Again, if you just like the idea of Eclipse being a third guy for fanon reasons, than thats fine. That's what AUs are all about! But if you spread misinformation about the CANON lore, then I just have to disagree.

Edit: Another thing!

When we turn the lights on, Sun doesn't take control of their body. Instead, they are paralysed and can't move at all. Helpy mentions that they are malfunctioning, and I think this means that whatever mechanism diverts control of the body between Sun and Moon is broken. This means, in the physical world, only Moon is able to take control of the body. And the AR World is just where Sun's consciousness ended up.

If you look closely you can see their circuit board has multiple broken wires. These broken wires may have been what causes the control to divert, and they were damaged when the Pizzaplex went into ruin. This means that Sun is unable to take control of the body even if the lights are on, and the control is stuck on Moon and causes him to instead be paralysed since the system still recognises that Moon can't be in light, but can't solve the problem by giving Sun control.

With this established, it doesn't make sense for Eclipse to be a third AI that took control when they were rebooted, because the system that diverts control is broken. That system couldn't be fixed with the reboot either, since it's his actual PHYSICAL wires that are disconnected. Even if Eclipse became consciousness, there's no reason for him to be un-paralysed if he was a third AI that needs to take control away from Sun and Moon. Even if Eclipse was triggered by something other than light, if he is seperate from Sun and Moon, then the control system would still need to be used.

But if Eclipse was a fusion of Sun and Moon, then it wouldn't matter if the system was broken, because they wouldn't need to divert control to anyone! There's no one else inside their brain, it's just them now, and they are one person. Sun and Moon fusing together eliminates the paralysis because their code recognises Sun as being able to move in the light. And since Sun is already a part of Eclipse, there no need for the broken control system to be used. This allows Eclipse to be unaffected by light and can move away from the generator without anything happening. The reboot restores them to their factory settings, and those settings have no use for the control code because there is only one of them.

Roundup #3: Albums of the Year Edition

I dunno, I guess what I'm doing here is officially a "real zine" enough to justify doing a year end list... So here ya go.

These are in no order, and this list is guaranteed to be at once utterly sprawling and yet somehow still woefully incomplete.

No cool points here, just one man's deeply flawed taste in music. Don't like something? Blow me.

Worm - Bluenothing - Synth Assisted blackdeath gloom from the blighted swamps of Florida. Hits my ears like a cross between Disembowelment and Morgion, two of my favorite bands ever, shot through with David Gilmour-esqe leads.

High Command - Eclipse of the Dual Moons - Easily the best crossover/ thrash album I've heard in the past 25 years.

Hath - All That Was Promised - I've been struggling to think of descriptors for Hath for like half an hour but I think when you get right down to it they really remind me of Zhrine and I really want there to be more Zhrine.

Dissonant Immolation/ Incantation style DM heft meets moments of icy blackened blasting and a searing, spiraling, sense of melody.

Black Magnet - Body Prophecy - Highly entertaining mid 90's style industrial rock. The type of album that Nine Inch Nails should still be making.

Tzompantli - Tlazcaltiliztli - If you took Mortician or Bolt Thrower riffs and played them like Paradise Lost or Anathema it would probably sound something like Tzompantli.

The Offering - Seeing the Elephant - If I'm being 100% honest think I slightly prefer their previous album (especially the vocal performance), but "Seeing the Elephant" is still fucking a fucking killer slab of ultra-streamlined modern metal.

Stormruler - Sacred Rites & Black Magic - This new Stormruler album caught me in a super receptive mood the other day so their ultra-catchy blend of Dissection riffs and frantic Immortal style blasting sneaks in under the wire to and onto my year end list.

Vorga - Striving Toward Oblivion - I'm both a metalhead and an irredeemable sci-fi nerd so Vorga's music totally appeals to me. Reminds me of Darkspace if they were slightly more "present" in the material plane.

Veilburner - VLBRNR - Wingnutty EFX-overloaded space death metal cut from a similarly antimatter stained cloth as Gorguts/ Mithras/ Gigan. I fucking loved their previous album and this new one is just as good, possibly even better.

Goatwhore - Angels Hung From the Arches of Heaven - I've been a big Goatwhore fan since their first album came out back in 2000... Still have all their albums. Always enjoy seeing them live. And while this new one doesn't break a whole lot of new ground it is new material from a band I consistently enjoy so it gets two thumbs up as far as I'm concerned.

Sometimes you wanna be challenged, sometimes you just want the musical equivalent of pizza and beer.

Chat Pile - God's Country - I've heard this album sneeringly derided as sounding like "Nu-Metal" but that's fucking stupid... It sounds like fuckin' Streetcleaner with David Yow on vocals.

Kardashev - Liminal Rite - I'm probably the only person on earth who thinks this, but musically Kardashev sort of remind me of Early Katatonia (Brave Murder Day) crossed with later Katatonia (Viva Emptiness).

Messa - Close - Female fronted doom from Italy. This one seems to situate itself somewhere between Mazzy Star, Sinitstro, and a Doomed out Oceans of Slumber.... Meaning it tugs at the heartstrings even as it bludgeons you with a cinderblock.

Aeviterne - The Ailing Facade - Dissonant black/ death and grimy ambient noise reconfigured into the sound of complete and utter terror.

White Ward - False Light - When I heard "depressing black metal meets jazz" I kinda wanted this to sound like Sun-Ra crossed with Bethlehem which unfortunately it does not...Instead what it sounds like is a blackened Cult of Luna with saxophone parts and I am super onboard for that.

I hope these guys are all still alive (Ukraine, war, etc.) because I would very much like another album of this stuff.

Altar - Ascetic Reflection - The perfect combination of crushing death metal dissonance and eerie melody.

Ashenspire - Hostile Architecture - Terrifyingly bleak avant metal from Scotland. Killer lyrics.

GGGOLDDD - The Shame Should Not Be Mine - Post Metal meets Portishead meets late era Swans? Something like that. Kinda scratches the Rose Kemp/ Anna Von Hausswolff/ Muscle and Marrow itch too.

Wolok - Bilious Hues of Gloom - This new Wolok sounds like their previous album caught in a glue trap... Or maybe a Gluey Porch Treatment is more appropriate.

Rigorous Institution - Cainsmarsh - PDX crusties sounding like what the Amebix reunion should have been.

Black Cross Hotel - Hex - I described these guys as sounding like Killing Joke Crossed with The Misfits and I'm sticking with that, though I will add that they also kinda remind me of a synthed out version of this early 00's Massachusetts Band called Gaskill that probably no one but me remembers.

Underneath the Deadlights - Angelic Void - I don't listen to all that much noise/ death industrial these days but this album rules.

Author And Punisher - Kruller - This was a kind of a grower, but it has become a solid favorite. Maybe not as completely insane heavy as Beastland, but packs its own creepy/ moody punch.

Cave In - Heavy Pendulum - Sixteen year old me's favorite band emerge from tragedy with one of their finest albums to date.

Voivod - Synchro Anarchy - Not my favorite Voivod album, but it's still a Voivod album so it beats 9/10 of everything else by default.

Immolation - Acts of God - Another crusher from the long running NYDM titans. Maybe better than Atonement?

Origin - Chaosmos - I've been a big Origin fan since 2001-ish and I'm stoked on this new one. As "blast" as ever with maybe a bit more "groove" than usual thrown in the mix (to the point they straight up borrow a Dying Fetus riff in one song).

AIDS - The Road To Nuclear Holocaust - Paving the road to nuclear holocaust with electronically augmented crust punk.

Finally starting to learn a bit of proper music theory after being self taught for almost thirty years.

Shit that didn't come out this year that I listened to a lot:

Rotting Christ - The Heretics/ AEALO/ Theogonia - Rotting Christ were the first black metal band I ever liked and I remain a big fan to this day. I think "Non Serviam" is probably my pound for pound favorite, but I enjoy a lot of the newer albums too, especially the three mentioned above.

Autarkh - Form In Motion - Took a while to warm up to, but this is essentially what you would get if you threw Dodecahedron, Red Harvest, Fear Factory, and The Dillinger Escape Plan in a blender.

Bad Religion - Suffer/ No Control/ Against the Grain - Probably my three most listened to albums of all time.

Gary Numan - There are times I'm pretty sure Gary Numan is my favorite artist who has ever lived.

Why the Day of Unity Occurs During a Solar Eclipse

Ever since Hunting Palismen, it's been revealed that the Day of Unity will take place during a solar eclipse. We see the astronomical event in the vision with the coven heads, but it also logically checks out: a solar eclipse is the union of sun and moon. But what is the significance of the Day of Unity occurring on such an event? First, we have to understand the important relationship between magic and space.

Astronomical imagery is very prominent in The Owl House. For example, abstractions of stars and planets are spotted all over King's nursery in Echoes of the Past. Not only that, many celestial bodies have unique magical properties. In Hooty’s Moving Hassle, the moon can conjure objects when it rises to the right position once every year. The wailing star from Lost in Language can bring illustrations to life. In Adventures in the Elements, the light glyph can be seen as a constellation. By this point, it's a proven fact that many astronomical events in the Demon Realm have powerful magical properties.

We know from Raine in Eda's Requiem that Belos is preparing a "big spell" for the Day of Unity. Astronomical magic possesses magic far more powerful than what any one witch can acquire, so it only makes sense for Belos to utilize an astronomical event.

I see two possible ways for Belos to utilize the solar eclipse to set off the big spell. (I won't get too much into what the big spell will do yet since that would require a far longer post for another day. Trust me when I say it's much deeper than bringing the Titan to Earth.) The first method is simple: once the sun and moon align, a special type of magic is released, beginning the spell. It's very much like the Moonlight Conjuring where the moon must rise into a certain position in the sky for its magic to be harnessed.

The second is a bit more complex. This assumes the calculations for a solar eclipse in the Demon Realm are similar to Earth's. In our world, total solar eclipses (when the entirety of the sun is covered by the moon) are rather frequent: they occur about once every 18 months. If total solar eclipses happen so often, why does the Day of Unity appears to be an event that has been planned out for decades? Why didn't it happen sooner? It seems that there are more requirements that call for a rarer astronomical occurrence. Perhaps there not only has to be a solar eclipse, the eclipse must also cast a circular shadow on top of the Titan.

Before getting into the "why's", can a solar eclipse even cast an adequately-sized shadow on top of the Titan? In an interview with Collider, Dana stated that the Titan was roughly the size of Vermont. The state is approximately 160 mi x 80 mi (260 km x 130 km). The umbra (darker inner shadow) cast by a total solar eclipse can have a diameter ranging from 100 km to 160 km. So yes, roughly speaking, the eclipse could cast a sizable circular shadow on top of the titan.

Why is it so important that the umbra of the eclipse be on the Titan? The umbra will act as the foundation for a supermassive spell circle. Raine calling it a “big spell” would be the understatement of the century. To fans of Fullmetal Alchemist, this sounds all too familiar. To illustrate what could happen, here's a reverse transmutation circle from that show, traced out by a solar eclipse.

From The Intruder, Eda shows that the power of spells depend on the size of the spell circle. Luz demonstrates that this applies for glyphs as well. This eclipse's shadow would fall under the same rules.

Of course, we still have to ask, "what about the rest of the glyph?" It likely isn't one of the four basic glyphs because it would be extremely difficult to carve out the middle of the glyph. (Also just imagine if Belos carved out a fire glyph the size of the Titan). What's more likely is that he's creating a glyph combo, using the shadow to trace out the organizing circle. Then, he could create sites along where the shadow is calculated to be and make them in the shape of the appropriate glyph.

It's not just glyphs that can be added to the glyph combo, though. When Luz creates the sleeping mist in Hunting Palismen, there is a dedicated place to put the sleeping nettles. The glyphs or items don't even have to be on the side. For instance, the invisibility glyph combo has a glyph right in the center.

With Belos's castle sitting in the middle of the Titan, it's possible that it could also be in the center of the supermassive glyph combo. Belos's castle, portal, or heart could either be used or enhanced through the activation of the glyph combo.

tl;dr: solar eclipse on the day of unity makes a big shadow over the titan, outlining a supermassive glyph combo

“So, I have something to tell you.”

Rylie stared at me with her baby blue eyes from over the top of her knees, clad in her fluffy unicorn pajamas. Biting her lip, she wrapped her arms around her legs, doing her best to look at innocent as possible. It was the same as when she told me she loved me for the first time. Same as when she told me about her parents. Same as any serious conversation.

I smiled the best reassuring smile I could. “Yes, Missus Thelpty?”

“Thelpty-Grey. Future Thelpty-Grey,” Rylie corrected with a grin. She played with her wavy brown hair, not so subtly flashing her tattoo. She always lied about the heptagram on her wrist and I never pushed. Despite how much she pretended, Rylie never liked talking about herself. She would let me know when she was ready. Probably curled up on the couch in unicorn pajamas, staring at me with innocent blue eyes.

“Yes, Missus Future Thelpty-Grey?”

“Kay, so, you know how I, like, love those weirdass horror-scifi books?”

“Which ones?” I teased. I knew which ones. I first met her in the bookstore when she was buried in them. The local shop received a collection of the old ones, and she bought all of them. Every copy, even multiple versions of the same ones. ‘In case there was a misprint,’ she later told me. The author was prolific. For a normal person, it would have been an extraordinary purchase.

But that was Rylie. She won the lottery twice and was set for life.

The horror-scifi clashed with the fluffy unicorn pajamas, but that was Rylie. Half magical horse, half spooky space thing, entirely lovable. I guess that was part of why I liked her so much. She knew what it was like to live with a split life.

“The ones by Crofte.” Rylie’s smile didn’t slip, but her tone shifted. She looked past me, taking a deep breath. This was way more intense than the first ‘I love you.’

Not as intense as her proposal.

“Ah, yes. The spooky ones.”

“The spooky ones,” Rylie agreed. “Well, I’m part of a group. The Val Crofte Literature Club.”

I was well aware of the VCLC. Rylie received a box filled with new books from them every month, marked by seven circles. She told me they represented the seven classical planets in Crofte’s work. Rylie talked about them a lot. For Crofte-heads, a name Rylie used to refer to the group once, which I would never let her forget, the classical planets were the key to understanding the meta-story.

It also had something to do with alchemy. I had a hard time getting into them. They hurt my brain. I had no clue how one man wrote so much.

“Yeah, your nerd group.”

“They’re not nerds! Well, not all of them.” Rylie stretched, again flashing the heptagram. “It’s not just about the books. It’s about the meta-story. We, uh… we…”

Rylie struggled to get the words out. A nervous blush spread across her face.

I took her hand, careful to avoid the tattoo on her wrist. I never told her, since it was impossible to explain, but the design was unpleasant. Every time I touched it, even the slightest brush, it burned. Like a hot stove, but through my whole body and prickly. “It’s okay, Rylie. You can just admit to being a nerd. We’re engaged. I know this now.”

“There’s more to it, Aaron.” Rylie bit her lip, still uncertain. Then, a serious expression suddenly took her face. Not the way the faceless steal faces in the Crofte books. She simply decided to be straightforward. “The VCLC believes that the books aren’t just stories.”

“They’re damn good ones!”

Rylie didn’t laugh. That hurt a little. “They - we believe that Val Crofte is trying to warn us about creatures. Monsters. Eldritch beings.”

My heart thumped. Did she know?

“Val Crofte isn’t one person. The members of the VCLC embed codes in the books whenever we learn something new. Some of us are trained to hunt these things.” Rylie paused, looking sadly at her hand which I no longer held. I hadn’t realized I’d been retreating. But it was starting to make sense now. “Not me, of course. I’m a researcher for the VCLC. I study the codes, sort out the truth from fiction, then pass it along to the hunters. They’re usually about lesser beings. Mimics. Vampires. That sort of stuff.”

A weight was lifted off my chest.

“Some of them are about great ones.”

And put right back on.

“The VCLC has had a few names. We were inspired by Lovecraft. The name too.” Rylie’s excitedness took over as she continued her tale. She stood, pacing in front of the couch now. My eyes were focused on the seven-pointed star on her wrist. How it moved with the way her hands tensed. “There’s been so many stories, Aaron. We’re dedicated to stopping evil, great and small. And now… now there’s rumours, Aaron. Rumors of something big. The kind of monster that could destroy the world.”

Rylie paused, impressing the dramatic weight of this realization with her blue eyes and gestures. “A real Lovecraftian nightmare, Aaron.”

I couldn’t hold it back anymore. “Is that tattoo VCLC?”

Rylie looked shocked, as though pulled from a dream. She held her wrist out to me. “This? Yeah. Ish. The members of VCLC get a tattoo on their wrist so we can recognize each other. But it’s also a sigil of protection. In Crofte’s books, it’s a symbol of power. It shows control over all of the elements. And all of the planets. The classical planets. They’re-”

“The ones that count,” I finished. That was something Rylie said a lot. It was a popular phrase among the books’ protagonists.

With a laugh, Rylie sat down next to me, snuggling close and wrapping her arms around me. “They are actually good books too. I was a fan of Val Crofte before I even knew about the VCLC. And not all of our members are full members. Some of them are just fans. You should give them a shot.”

“I will,” I lied. At least now I knew why the books hurt to read. It wasn’t just poor worldbuilding.

“You don’t think I’m crazy, do you?” Rylie asked, staring with her innocent blue eyes. Eyes that concealed secrets all too well. I gave her my best reassuring grin.

“No, Rylie, I don’t. I love you. I know you’re telling the truth.” I sighed. It was my turn to share. “In another life, I was called Thorn. Thorn A. Laytep.”

I took a deep breath. In a thousand lifetimes, I never told anyone this secret. But it was time.

“Before then, I was known as Nyarlathotep.”

“Before then,” Aaron said slowly. His lips were pulled tight, replacing his usual smile with something stern. He was like that sometimes. Aaron liked to joke, to laugh, play. He brought out my childish side. That was what I loved about him. Then, rarely, he was serious. I loved that too. I could tell him things - important things - and he’d meet me with the same sincerity. “I was known as Nyarlathotep.”

My heart thumped. The name alone made my tongue numb and he said it with ease.

I laughed, pulling him tighter. He got me. “Nice.”

“I’m not joking, Rylie,” Aaron said. “I am… I was Nyarlathotep.”

“I know.”

Aaron stopped fiddling with the drawstring on his sweatpants. I tried many times to get him better sleepwear, even getting him more boyish pajamas, since he didn’t like my totally cool unicorns. He never wore them. I wasn’t upset, though. Aaron liked what Aaron liked. I loved that about him.

Aaron liked grey sweatpants and octopus shirts. “You know?”

“Well, like, I didn’t til you told me. But I know you’re not joking, Aaron.” Aaron Thelpty. Oh my god, I was such a dumbass. Seven years of piecing together puzzles for the VCLC and I never cracked the one that kissed me awake every day for the last three. I laughed again. “You really like anagrams.”

Aaron smiled. He had a nice smile. I loved that about him too. “That I do, Missus Future Thelpty-Grey.”

My heart hurt again as the feeling of guilt shot through me. I’d been with Aaron for so long now. We met when I was doing research on a local cult for one of our hunters and I just felt pulled to him. The same way Argent was pulled to the moon when she first arrived on earth. A connection that transcended the physical form and joined them in the spirit. With that first connection, Argent was soulbound to her element.

They were really good books. I wished Aaron would actually read them.

“If there is a future Missus Thelpty,” Aaron said quietly. His brown eyes were wet and he bowed his shaved head. In my initiation to the VCLC, they asked me to read - not recite, they were clear about that - read some magic text. My eyes burned. My blood boiled. It felt like my body was trying to tear itself apart from the inside out.

They later explained that the test was to see if I had any latent magic ability. I didn’t. But I still wanted to join the VCLC and contribute to the metanarrative. So they let me be a researcher.

Aaron’s sad look hurt worse.

“You said you were Nyarlathotep-” a figurative bee stung my literal tongue - “Gnarly-thep in another life. What does that mean?”

Aaron sighed again, moving away from me.

“I was beaten. A group of kids figured out how to stop me, at least for a little bit, and Nyarlathotep was defeated. Well, banished,” Aaron said sheepishly, “for a thousand years. Then he- I came back as Thorn. Thorn was angry. He wanted to get revenge on the kids who beat him before, but they were gone. So he lashed out.”

“Like Aurum,” I whispered.

“Uh, yeah.”

“You haven’t met him yet,” I told Aaron excitedly. “He’s Argent’s… He’s related to Argent, soulbound to the sun. He’s all about the heart and lavish things, but he has, like, a bit of an anger issue.”

“Yeah,” Aaron said with a soft laugh, watching me walk around our living room. “Like Aurum.”

I hadn’t realized I was pacing. Val Crofte’s books got me so excited. It was definitely the excellent world building. I carefully readjusted the painting of the eclipse I had commissioned and sat back down next to Aaron. “Sorry, go on.”

“I… We? Thorn realized he wasn’t as strong as Nyarlathotep. He was a little superhuman but he wasn’t a powerful space being. He was just a strong man with a little bit of magic.” Aaron paused, reluctant to finish his story. I encouraged him with the sweetest look I could muster. He told me once that he could never resist my smile. I loved that about him. I didn’t tell him I had the same problem. “Thorn got himself in some trouble in the Americas. He didn’t live past the twenties.”

“I’m sorry.”

“Don’t be,” Aaron quickly said. “I don’t consider Thorn part of me. I don’t even consider Nyarlathotep part of me. I have memories of them. Vague memories. But I don’t have any powers. I definitely am not an eldritch monster. At least not any more. Whatever I used to be, I’m not anymore.”

I searched his face, looking for any sign that he was lying. The VCLC texts warned that Nyarla… Aaron’s alter-ego a master of deceit. Supposedly, he delighted in pain and trickery. But those were just stories shared by strangers. Research from unconfirmed sources. Some members claimed that garlic could outright kill a vampire, but it rarely did more than give them a stomach ache.

The VCLC wasn’t always right. They were just a bunch of nerd books.

“Aaron Thelpty,” I said, tracing the Sigil of Seven on my wrist. It was meant for protection from physical and spiritual harm. But I traced it whenever I needed to feel brave. “There are thousands of stars in the sky. There are hundreds of worlds. They all have their theories. Their rules. But what they think doesn’t matter. What they say doesn’t matter. Because, despite the trillions of lives on those worlds and between those stars, only one matters to me. You. We are soulbound. There is nothing that can break that bond. I’m here for you, Aaron. I’m here for you.”

Aaron gave me the most confused stare I’d ever seen from a thousand-year-old being. “What?”

“It’s from the books. It’s what Luna tells Argent in The Rise of Neptune. It means, I love you. I don’t care about your past. I don’t care what the VCLC says about you or your followers.” I took Aaron’s hand, squeezing gently, and looked him straight in the eyes. His soft brown eyes welled with tears. Not the painful ones that made me want to peel my skin, but the ones that made me want to wrap him in my arms and kiss him.

“I love you, Mister Future Thelpty-Grey.”

Trolls world HCs

Shower thoughts from the shower spirits. This time of the actual Trolls world and environment

When the Sun and the Moon tag each other out, they are also passing messages while doing so. This is done by each one writing a message on their hands in marker and while the ink is still wet (Sun still has moments of instantly drying it), they high-five and the message is smacked onto the other’s hand

Of course, sometimes they forget to keep to one side of the palm and the messages overlap over one another. They have a good chuckle over it since some of the results lead to a combination of nonsense words that look and sound funny. (ie, Turkey leg baby bounces sparkle sparkle over the hedge demented doughnut finger’s princely affairs. What a scandal!)

The messages they write can vary. From many, many jokes galore “What does the vegetarian think about when he meditates? Inner peas” to just a simple “How you doin’?” to a recount of funny things they manage to witness of the inhabitant below “The furry Funk king tripped over his feet again. And fell into a vat of blueberry jello.” to even some serious issues “As wrong as that Pop dude was in taking all the strings, the fact that nobody even attempted to closely investigate the Bergen invasion and subsequent near-genocide of the Pop trolls was practically utter abandonment; kinda a poop move. I still don’t feel ok with how everyone is blaming the kids for their parents’ stupidity. Sorta feels like victim-shaming. I don’t know, what do you think?”

The Moon is less likely to care about the inhabitants below, most of them being asleep, but they are much more likely to fluster. Lunar eclipses happen when the Sun passes on recounts of some REALLY embarrassing situations or some of the raunchiest jokes. And especially on the most awfulest of awful puns

Solar eclipses happen when the Moon decides to get revenge for the Sun’s worst offenses, usually particular puns. This is done by the Moon literally mooning the Sun. And the Sun staring and getting flustered themselves, since no one else has ever seen the backside of the Moon. (yes, sorta like from the cartoon, Gumball)

Sometimes the Moon likes to hangout in the daytime. Usually this happens when the Sun notices that they dried the ink again and has to rewrite everything, with the Moon waiting patiently a distance away (just in case the Sun dries up their ink too)

A cloudy day is when Cloud Guy and a lot of other Cloud folk are having a big ol’ party up high, higher than the Classical trolls can reach. It’s also when the Sun and the Moon are close in the same space without having to go full-shine

A new moon is when the Moon is just isn’t the mood to shine brightly. This usually happens once a month. When they feel especially prickled or despondent, a black moon occurs for the month

The patch of flowers (a bouquet of flowers?) that was the audience to the Reggaeton vs K-Pop dance battle during the Rock World Tour have taken to following either one of them around (a la Undertale’s Flowey). They’ve also begun to spread the news on Branch’s dance talents. This is how Cloud Guy learns of it, especially the part during the Reggaeton’s turn

Cloud Guy makes Reggaeton, K-Pop, and Branch merch. The groupie flowers are the first to buy them, and they buy multiples of them. Branch-related products are the most popular, hottest item on sale

And that’s all I’ve got for now. Had a bit of fun thinking of the messages and took a bit of inspiration from some Trolls fanfics I’m a big fan of *shameless plug*

Techno Trolls can levitate outside of water, but not too far from a surface area. They can even use a rain-heavy cloud to levitate from; tho they’re in danger of getting wet and losing their levitation while so high up in that case

Techno Trolls can use that dash ability with one other person, but only for a shorter distance and the passenger experiences some rather extreme vertigo. If they have an iron stomach, then it’s just some mild stomach churns and a small migraine

Extremely subjective opinions about Star Wars planets

Inspired by @carmarthenfan. I did my top ten faves, and then gave up trying to put these in order, so they're literally in the order they occurred to me.

(This is not conclusive; I left a bunch out. There are a lot of Star Wars planets, y’all.)

1. Tatooine.

Iconic. Terrible place to live. Great place for making your characters suffer. Who cares that the ecology makes no sense when you have wide open spaces, exposed rock layers and salt flats, and a rockin' aesthetic? Not to mention wretched hives of scum and villainy and also, like, ACTUAL DRAGONS.

(Thesis: literally half of what makes ANH so compelling is that it's set on Tatooine.)

2. Yavin IV (Legends)

AKA Jedi Jungle Friendship Camp or Space Guatemala. If I was going to live anywhere in the GFFA, it'd be here. Temple ruins (even if they are infested with Sith ghosts), hot springs, rainforests, biodiversity, awesome eclipses and a giant blood-red gas giant constantly overhead, not much in the way of development... what's not to like? (Okay, the Sith ghosts are a problem, but they got rid of those eventually.)

3. "Forest moon" of Endor, ROTJ

Redwood forests are awesome. I'd totally live in an Ewok treehouse. They're the only place in the galaxy with handrails!!

4. Coruscant

I'd probably hate to live there, but it's a great setting for fic. A surprisingly large amount of wildlife and plant life, despite the rampant development. Epic architecture, lots of culture, Luke has a cool retreat in the Manarai Mountains and Han and Kyp go skiing at the poles. Home of "the room where it happens".

(most of my fics to date are set on Tatooine, Yavin or Coruscant, lol)

5. Alderaan

Too bad the Empire blew it up. :( IDK about the whole Killik business, but Space Switzerland seems great, and I'd live there in a heartbeat. An actual multi-biome world, wow! I should write more fics about this place.

6. Myrkr (Legends)

Jungle planet with metallic trees and furry, Force-repelling lizards. Also giant vornskrs that use the Force to hunt. Don't forget Talon Karrde's awesome tree base!

7. Dagobah

I love this place, even if living there would be a challenge. Actually kinda has a functioning ecology in canon. Love the sheer abundance of snakes, plus dragonsnakes and the mangrove-like gnarltrees, which are the adult form of giant white spiders (I love plant-animal weirdness like this).

8. Mulako Comet (Legends)

Not technically a planet, but how can you not love a resort carved out of a giant frozen comet HOW. 10/10, we stan. The perfect place for a romantic getaway, especially if you are a water nerd like Luke.

9. Vjun (Legends)

The Gothiest goth place ever to Goth. Has names like "River Weeping" and carnivorous moss that nibbles on Obi-wan. <3. Vader's Goth castle was originally here before the writers moved it to Mustafar.

10. Honoghr (Legends)

Another terrible place to live, thanks to the Empire's sabotage, but I love there's actually an attempt at an ecological plot line here (Timothy Zahn is surprisingly good at those). A single biome world, but for a legit (and sad) reason. I should write some fics about this place.

HONORABLE MENTIONS:

Corellia (Legends) - It's okay, I guess? I'm not sure how I feel about the Corellian trilogy in general, but there are some things with the Selonians and the Drall that could be interesting for fic? Also, Treasure Ship Row is cool.

Kessel (Legends) - Hell-realm. Not sure if Kevin J. Anderson's "glitterstim" is the same as "spice," but Han and Kyp have to fight off giant spiders in the dark underground mine, which is certainly dramatic. Had a moon until a prototype Death Star blew it up.

Ithor (Legends) - JUNGLE PLANET POPULATED BY BOTANY NERDS, SIGN ME THE FUCK UP. But they won't let you actually explore the surface, because it's sacrilege. :(

Belsavis (Legends) - Hoth on the surface, Yavin in the rift valleys (but with, like, plantations), plus underground tunnels full of monsters and Jedi artifacts. Home of a secret Jedi botany master and his plant friends, so I'm in favor.

Chad (Legends) - Mostly ocean planet--I guess Space Earthsea, but with more geological activity? Callista makes it sound dreamy and idyllic in her flashbacks, but all the native Chadra-Fan are trying to GTFO, so I dunno.

Nam Chorios (Legends) -Like Tatooine, I would probably hate living there, but it's a great setting for a fic. The perpetual twilight would get old fast, but I love the terraformed ecology, the sentient rocks and the Force storms. Drochs are super creepy, though.

Hijarna (Legends) - There are ruins and sweeping vistas. What can I say, Karrde knows how to pick a secret base. :)

Dathomir (Legends) - Rancors have to be native to somewhere, so why not Dathomir? Courtship of Princess Leia is hokey and weird as all get-out, but it did give us Teneniel Djo, and I love her.

Hapes (Legends) -100% better at you than everything, and they know it. Leave them to it.

Yavin 8 (Legends) - Giant snakes and giant eagles... who literally eat children. Kinda weird being in a place where humanoids are on the bottom of the food chain. Love the Melodies' amphibious lifestyle, though.

Wayland (Legends) - Endor with the serial numbers filed off. Still love it, though. And Palpatine built a lair in a giant mountain! Props to him.

Ryloth (Legends) - sounds like an actual hell realm, but a desert planet? One half in perpetual sun, one half in perpetual darkness, and only a very narrow habitable zone? I’m game.

Msst (Legends) - Terrible, if accurate, name. All we ever see is the eponymous mist, plus giant pink creatures that numb you with poison and devour you alive. Brakiss's home planet. No wonder he hates everything. On the plus side, his mom got to see Luke Skywalker naked, so good for her.

Kashyyyk - TREE WORLD, WE GO HARD (part II). Except I don't think the Wookiees have handrails, do they?

Hoth - Ice, ice, baby. Ecology makes no sense; it's a fucking glacier. I would hate living there, but I've read so many fluff fics about snowfall fights and sex in X-wings and supply closets that I feel a kind of fondness for it.

Byss (Legends) - Dark. Hidden. Secret. Goth as fuck. I like it. Exegol, but with more class.

Ahch-To - Skellig Michael is great, but too recognizable as itself to really be a good stand-in for somewhere else. Puffins are better than porgs. Great place to hide, but I stand by my claims that the Jedi order could not have arisen there. Love the aesthetic. The Caretakers deserved way better!

Naboo - Space Italy. Would definitely live there. Closest thing we see to Dinotopia in the GFFA. (Tell me Theed isn't Waterfall City!)

Kef Bir - why not just let the original forest moon have multiple biomes? It's okay to have multiple-biome worlds, I promise, we wont get confused. Epic sweeping grasslands, steep cliffs, massive waves. I love what little we see of it.

Crait - you're going to film a Star War on the Bolivian salt flats and NOT make an epic dream sequence with the night sky reflected on the salt?? What. Hoth with red dust. Crystal foxes look like Vulpix from Pokemon, and I like them.

Ilum - cool ice planet gets turned into planet-destroying superweapon and blown up. Not a fan.

Bespin - I don't know about the ecology, but 10/10 for aesthetics.

Nal Hutta / Nar Shaddaa - Ecological disaster. Gross and full of Hutts.

Niraun (Legends) - I don't like caves and that's pretty much all we see. Especially if those caves are filled with carnivorous hordes of Space Army Ants.

Gamorr (Legends) - "Procedures programs for visiting Gamorr consist of a single line: DO NOT VISIT GAMORR. Really!” Especially do not visit in the season known as "slushtime".

Af'El (Legends) - I know very little about it, but it seems cool? "The Dark World". Home planet of the "wraiths" (Defel) and the homunculus wasps.

Kijimi - "Disneyworld with space facism". Swirling snow and stone looks cool at night. Too bad that fight scene was such a mess.

Takodana - it's the English Lake District, I'm never going to be able to suspend my disbelief to believe it's anything else.

D'Qar / Ajan Kloss - Yavin IV knockoffs. If you want me to care, you're gonna have to give me something better.

Exegol - this “planet” is just a CGI soundstage with a floating pyramid/arena whatever, and lightning. Weather instantly improved when Palpatine died, which strongly suggested he liked it that way. Knockoff Byss.

Mustafar - Literal hell-realm. Lava does not work like that. And apparently, ROTS insists it also has snow and trees, which seems like a little too late.

Canto Bight - you'd think people with that much money would have a better-looking planet. ughhhh.

Introduction: The hero always arrives at the last minute… or, so they say. I am Rider, Memnon. Please allow me to serve as your defender.

Profile One: The rival of Achilles, who was summoned from Aethiopia after Hektor’s death to participate in the defense of Troy. The son of a primordial dawn goddess, a humble and great leader who inspired countless men. His tale is lost to history with all but a few fragments remaining, so much of his life is a mystery.

Line One: If you wish to rest, please do so mindfully. The battle will begin again when the sun rises.

Line Two: The relationship of a Master and a Servant is simple enough to understand. I was a general, so the chain of command is nothing new.

Line Three: You are still young. Please allow me to advise you in combat. If necessary, I shall take the lead myself. Leave everything to me.

Likes: Hmm… I suppose my hobbies are making music and gardening. Why, is that strange? I was raised by nymphs, you know.

Dislikes: Things that I hate… I’d have to think about it. I’m sure that there are things I dislike but nothing comes immediately to mind.

Holy Grail: A wish-granting device is certainly interesting. Would it be selfish to…? Never mind. I’ll have to think about what I could wish for.

Penthesilea: Ah, the Queen of the Amazons. It was a great honor to serve alongside her. Her prowess in battle is like none I’d ever seen. She’s really amazing. You know, she used to wear a decorated helmet that obscured her face… well, when it came off in the middle of combat, Achilles stopped what he was doing and just stood there! She nearly took off his head! Can you imagine, the great Achean, standing there looking like…? [clears throat] I mean, of course, I’m glad I got to witness such a glorious exchange. A battle between two warriors of that caliber is a rare thing.

Hektor: Hektor. It is a shame that we never met in life! I’m honored to be fight alongside – oh, no thank you. I don’t smoke.

Paris: … I’m a bit worried. They say Apollo is a great god, but this is…

Artemis: Ah, the goddess of the moon! My mother spoke of you often. I am truly blessed to meet you. Strangely… you remind me of… Oh, never mind.

Achilles: Yes, I remember him quite well. I don’t have any grudges. Zeus blessed our battle, and it was an exhilarating fight. I’m honored to have been able to cross blades with someone like him. Though… I do wonder if it’s alright to speak to him. I suppose, in his position, it’s possible… Perhaps if I offered to duel him once again, he would forgive me! Yes, I shall do that.

Queen of Sheba: I have traveled through many lands, but there is something about you that is familiar. Please tell me more about your kingdom – I would like to hear of it, even though we were not alive in the same era. Hmm? What do you mean, knowledge costs extra? Is this some kind of border tax?

Iskandar: You want to hear about Okeanos? I’m happy to tell you - but I’m afraid it’s not very exciting. I was raised there, you see, so a lot of my stories involve me doing chores and... oh? You still want to know? Very well.

Scheherazade: A woman who collects stories. I wonder... Hmm? Oh, it’s nothing. Never mind.

Nordic Heroes: They seem to be looking at me. I wonder – do they know something about me that I don’t? Is there something on my face?”

Profile Two / Bond One: “Are you comfortable? How may I assist you?”

The story goes that after Hektor’s death, King Priam of Troy summoned an army from a distant land. Alongside the Queen of the Amazons, Penthesilea, Memnon sailed to Troy from Aethiopia, to defend the besieged city from the wrath of Achilles.

Profile Three / Bond Two: “A lost hero, you say…? Well, it can’t be helped. “

Where Hektor was Achilles’s great enemy, it’s more accurate to say that Memnon was his rival. Memnon was also the son of a goddess, and had many powers that made him equal Achilles in combat. The Greeks feared him and his army. However…

Profile Four / Bond Three: “Yes, my mother is the goddess of the dawn. I even had relatives in the royal family at Troy, but I was raised by the Hesperides on the shores of Okeanos. Yes, it’s a real place. I’m serious. Perhaps one day, you will be able to reach it.”

Zeus was impressed by Achilles’s strength, but also favored Memnon. It is said that he blessed their battle, making them tireless, and the god of the forge, Hephaestus, had also given both of the heroes indestructible armor.

The written text of this story is lost, except for all but a few sentence fragments. The glorious final battle of Troy faded into myth, and then nothingness. Though many writers carried on describing Memnon’s legacy and fame, his shining hour was eclipsed by time.

Profile Five / Bond Four: “I was given many blessings from the gods. I would not say I have any regrets about how I lived my life. After all, if there is even one person who remembers that I lived…”

After the death of Achilles’s most beloved partner, Patroclus, the hero was inconsolable, and it seemed that he would lose the will to fight. However, Antilochos - the youth who cared for his horses and occasionally helped Achilles steer his chariot in combat - cheered him up and convinced him to continue living. Later, during a battle, Memnon struck Antilochos down, forcing the hero of the Acheans to grieve yet another loved one.

Profile Six / Bond Five: “I would like to tell you a story. It’s a great tale about a man who travels the world from end to end. Would you care for tea? It’s a bit long, so we may be here for awhile.”

Not long after Memnon’s death, the Trojan War ended, and a new tale began. It’s said that his mother wept inconsolably at her son’s death, and so Zeus granted Memnon immortality.

The ancient world of Northern Africa was said to have many statues of Memnon, marking the places where he had stayed or traveled to. These too are now lost.

However, despite all odds, the enduring soul of Memnon remains alive in human memory. It is for this reason that he can be called from the Throne of Heroes.

Personal Notes:

He’s BAAAQ with a single target buster because I wanted him to stand out from other Five Star Riders, basically, and the weird mechanic thing with burns is just something I think would be Neat because again I have no clue how a lot of the funky mini-mechanical technic-stuff works in FGO even after a year of playing. But like, if Space Ishtar can change her NP Card-type, then Memnon can have a single target NP that de-buffs all enemies.

So basically, he’s one of Penthesilea’s allies/an ally of Troy. He and Penth terrify the Greeks, at first Achilles is distracted by the hot new Amazon and his cute new rebound boy (I’m not a fan of Antilochos just like, on principle because this is a Patrolcus stanning household, but oh well), but then he eventually gets his act together and while he defeats Penth, Memnon winds up killing Antilochos. This leads Achilles to going on another rampage, and slays Memnon in the process. And after this, Paris (a known fool and idiot) finally asks Apollo for help in killing Achilles, leading to the end of the Trojan war.

There seems to be sources about Memnon that show he was well-known in the ancient world as a mythological figure (writers such as Herodotus reference him in their works/tales about Africa and he was probably memorialized in statues in various temples) but the primary text (the lost epic detailing the end of the Trojan War: Aethiopis) is basically gone. Which is a shame, because he’s a fascinating character - a true foil to Achilles in almost every way.

So basically, IT’S FREE REAL ESTATE.

Obviously because I’ve been deep in Achilles Loving Hell, I’ve been deep-diving into the lore, and even though there isn’t a lot to go on, the things I do find are rich and juicy. I imagine Memnon to be a bit older and wiser than Achilles (probably has a beard tbh, but not like a bushy beard) and a bit more relaxed. The guy was raised by nymphs and was basically nice to everyone, so it seemed. Memnon is not the type to go berserk in combat, but he also doesn’t hold back when it comes to beating your ass. There’s a sweet spot between Hektor “I Suppress All Emotions and Only Strategize” style of fighting and Achilles “I Am Strong and Fast and Have a Lot of Feelings so Fuck You” style of fighting, and Memnon is probably riiiight in there, crunching on some golden apples that his mom gave him for a snack.

(There’s also apparently a weird and funky piece of very obscure and maybe fake lore which states that Memnon might related by blood to Thor, which idk how true that is but I think it’d be hilarious to include.)

Eternal eclipse - Klance Month Week 4

I have no idea where I was going with this but it happened, so yeah. I do wanna redo week 2 of @monthlyklance at some point, but I’ve got a mer bang to finish, so don’t be too surprised if the last prompt for this week is late. Enjoy I guess. Eclipse/Victory

“I’m the sun and your the moon.”

“What does that even mean?”

“We’re apart, but an eclipse is a moment worth watching.”

Keith burst into laughter. “That made no sense.”

“Yes it does!”

“No it doesn’t.”

Crappy webcams couldn’t distort the pout on Lance’s lips.

“What I mean is when they do get to pass each other, it’s one of the world greatest wonders and us being reunited would be the airport’s greatest wonder. Or at least, me getting to see you would be mine.”

While the analogy made no sense what so ever, knowing that he was Lance’s always put a smile on his face. Even when they were miles apart.

He and Lance met at a convention and had a slight competition over who had the better mecha lion cosplay from their shared favourite show, Space Warriors. Keith wouldn’t admit it then, but Lance had won with his Blue Lion cosplay, seeing as the people he came with were engineers and had made the moving pieces of their costumes. Lance himself, despite being a professional stage manager, was able to create the light up weapons they used. Keith made his Red Lion cosplay with hard work and long nights but he was willing to wave the white flag, if Lance hadn’t been so smug about it. In the 3 days of the convention, they always seemed to bump into each other, competing over the smallest things, like who could get a better score in the game room or who could find the better deal on a plush in the dealer’s hall. Even though they spent a good amount of time arguing, Lance had given him his number and told him to call if he ever wanted to admit Lance was better.

Keith was mostly never planning but he was working on a cosplay and the top didn’t look right and he had no other friends who liked cosplay, so he texted Lance.

‘Ah, so you admit I am the better cosplayer. it’s fine, no need to send a voice memo saying so. By the way, the shirt is the wrong colour if that’s the character your going for. You can actually order to correct colour from Jo Anne’s if you want to make it yourself. Check H&M or Forever 21 for similar looking shirts in the correct colour.’

While he rolled his eyes at how utterly smug the guy sounded, he took his advice. It was easier to get the shirt and fix it up himself and it was actually surprising how close to the real thing he needed was. Their relationship continued in asking for advice on cosplays or line ups for conventions and then he happened to find Lance’s Instagram.

Keith kept his cosplays and personal life separate, but Lance combined everything. Pictures of his cat, pictures of the beach, pictures of his friends as they lounged around, somewhat professional pictures as Lance worked, even though Keith knew enough about theatre to know Lance should be completely in the dark in the booth. So, Keith started asking questions about his life, Lance asked about his and they started to become friends. Lance could still be as snooty about his cosplay skills as possible but he was always helpful when it came to offering advice. Somehow it took finding a small fandom they both liked to make them closer.

“Whoa, wait a second. You like Kirarin Revolution?”

“Yeah?” Keith had been playing his usual cosplay making focus playlist and the second opening had come on and Lance heard it over the phone.

“Do you have any idea how hard it is to find someone who likes that anime? Almost no one knows it! I’ve been trying to find someone to be my Hiroto to my Seiji for a cosplay. What convention are you going to next?”

“Um, Galaxy Con?”

“Prefect, text me your sizes. we’re doing a cosplay together.”

“Wait, my size?”

“How else am I suppose to make your cosplay?”

“Wait what?”

Lance would not be swayed and when he arrived at his hotel on badge pick up day, like a hound dog, Lance found him and put him in his cosplay to do finishing touches. He even styled his wig for him.

“Why don’t we do this more?” Lance asked as he fixed the feathered pieces for the coat.

“Because you live in LA and I live in Texas.”

Despite Lance claiming not a lot of people knew the anime, they had made quite a hit at the convention. He became good friends with Hunk and Pidge and got to see another side to Lance that wasn’t hidden in smugness. Lance was actually a pretty nice guy and once they had separated again, they still kept that closeness they gained during that convention. They had even started to stream animes together, texting each other on everything.

Even with the distance between and the fact that they didn’t always go to the same convention and see each other, they kept getting closer and closer. One day, they were video chatting and Lance had been falling asleep on himself. His cat had joined him and was asleep herself and looking at him with his face squished by his hand, his half awake eyes and how he was all cosied up, Keith couldn’t help thinking he looked really cute.

He might not of been one for relationships, but was he even considering doing a relationship when your significant other lived so far away. Ok, maybe not that far, but long distance was hard. There was a reason it had such a stigma around it, even if people claimed it could work out.

Keith broached the subject and while ecstatic that Lance felt the same, he’d been as worried as Lance was. They were such good friends, what if this relationship didn’t work?

It took a lot of communication to make it work. Keith tended to keep things inside, including his nerves about how to act around Lance when they could meet at conventions. Lance was always nervous he’d be too clingy. There was a good moment where they stopped talking because not talking meant things couldn’t change or get worse. It was miserable and if it hadn’t been for Shiro – and Hunk on Lance’s side – it would of kept up. Once they talked everything through, it got better. It wasn’t like they’d go ages without seeing each other. Keith always saved up his vacation days at the Fire Station for conventions and he was always working so often anyway that the guys kept insisting he take more time off. Plus they loved teasing him about Lance, trying to sneak into the background of any video calls.

Lance would talk to Keith during shows that he knew the cues for like the back of his hand. He considered it worth getting in trouble for. he’d always count down to the next convention they’d meet at, somehow always knowing where he’d bump into Keith. they’d been doing it for a year now. There were long periods were they couldn’t see each other at conventions, maybe due to flight issues or work and the distance, while manageable, did hurt. Keith didn’t know why he didn’t just take a random week off when the theatre Lance worked with was in the dark and just spend the week with him. Maybe the fear that without conventions, they’d fall apart. Not a healthy way to live, which was why he was sure Lance announced on this very chat he was coming to visit him. Which kinda lead to their discussion on eclipses. When Lance was in town, in between actually hanging out and not sticking to a convention schedule, he wanted to make a couples cosplay with him. they’d been bouncing back ideas, almost going with Zuko and Sokka from ATLA (even though Keith knew he was more into Zuko and Katara), when Keith went on a tangent about the BNHA manga.

“You know I rarely read manga half the time.” Lance complained.

“I think you’ll like this one. The artist made this little drawing moon Todoroki and Sun Izuku and tododeku shippers have been going insane. it’s a whole huge thing now. I mean, everyone already says things like ‘oh the moon and sun get to kiss each other during an eclipse’. I must of seen 1000 fan arts of those two getting their kiss.”

“Oh! We should do that! it’ll be like us!”

which then lead back into their current conversation.

“Lance, when I get to see you, it’s not going to be a one time thing to kiss you. If it’s up to me, I wouldn’t stop. We might not even get any cosplay work done because I’ll be too busy kissing you.”

“Ooh, eternal eclipse. Kinda like the final battle with the Dead Moon Circus.”

Keith furrowed his brow. “What?”

“Sailor Moon? My god Keith, we might not be doing any cosplay stuff if I have to school you on essential anime.”

Keith rolled his eyes. “It’s not essential.”

“Keith, it’s changed the whole game. it’s essential.”

Keith could put up being school with ‘essential anime’, as long as he got Lance with it.

“ YOU AREN’T DREAMING. ”

Really, now?

This was a dream. You had to be dreaming, because everything was going back to normal. Death and apocalypse happened frequently enough to you to believe it. The Nightmares charging at you right now would surely draw blood if you let them, but being allowed your full strength made the threats appear to you as blurred memory more than raging teeth and claws. They shriek and slash at you, but you couldn't flinch if you tried. A diamond of white defensive magic flashes around you, stunning the crowd of monsters, and leaving them wide-open for your wings to strike through.

You've been allowed all this power back, before. And you weren't happy with the inherent understanding that the moment you were deemed useless, the Stars would simply switch your limitations back on, using their doll with the empty eyes. You would find a way to reclaim what was owed to you, permanently. But for now...

There's a lot of blood. It's cold. Most of it spills and splashes on you, but it rolls off the feathers of your wings, leaving them to gleam all the brighter. The life you had made here in Spirale feels, suddenly, much more like a dream than what was happening right now. It's ridiculous to think of you having the leisure of reading a book in an apartment, of rummaging through VHS collections of anime to watch, of going out to share breadcrumbs with a flock of ravens that befriended you. In what world would you ever be eating ice cream and making friends with random strangers? When would you have ever had the chance to fill up abandoned parking lots with useless chalk scribbles? Come on. Get real.

All the kind memories feel distant. They can't possibly belong to you. Your wings are shining, moving so quickly it's as though you're cutting through Nightmare bodies with nothing but rays of light. Your go-to taunt escapes your mouth without thinking, just to make it at least a little fun. You shift from deep blue to gold to pink to red. You even let yourself suffer a TRANSFORMATION, screaming with the Nightmares, and there's no-one there to grab your hand this time.

But there's a sudden break in the waves of swarming enemies, just like that time, and you pull yourself back into your cyan form. Your ears are ringing, and the next shift in gravity isn't real. It's impossibly heavy, and impossibly familiar. It's hot. Your heart pounds faster, it's being squeezed, it's being pierced, it's enough to make you fall on your hands and knees. Your head swivels down, bowing due to invisible force. Everything hurts. You've felt this pain once before, and it is happening again. There's a sick-sweet scent of flowers, hurriedly blooming around you, the very earth frenzied by His arrival. It's such a shame that we have to meet like this again, LUCAH. Let's make it a last time.

The halo behind the Messiah is the sun itself. It's a searing spotlight pressed against your very soul, one you cannot hope to hide anything from. He towers above you higher than you remember, filling up so much space that it's hard to look at anywhere that isn't piercing gold. You pick yourself up, shaking with hysteria (wait, i'm not ready for this, no it can't be, why is this happening again, no please don't let this happen to me), and your wings turn jagged before your heart is ready to accept the fight. God writhes. He shrinks into Himself. He doesn't bother with preamble, the same way how you usually work. When He fans back out, He spits holy shards of magic at you, and you have barely enough time to move out of the way. A stray shard catches the side of your shoulder. Burning hot, you clap a hand against the wound and use the fear from the close call to fuel your speed. You sprint, and take a second look back at Him. Innumerable cyan wings fan off of either side of Him, waiting to be plucked off by you. You've Broken Him, Taunted Him, killed him, all on your own before. Waking up in those happy memories of Spirale was your reward, wasn't it? So, wouldn’t it be the same now?

There is a sound like thunder rolling, or reality tearing, the noise so loud it muffles even your racing heartbeat. With blinding flashes of gold, the Messiah chases you down with giant shapes of solar energy that are more wrath than magic. Courage finding you, you skid to a stop, twirl in place, and the attack merely grazes you.

"COME ON !!"

Time slows in an instant, dying your world in a wicked purple. You strike against God's twisted body with LUNA, letting Him experience your power first-hand, in a garden of crucified corpses that all share your face. You strike again and again, thinking of this kind world that He had dared to invade, thinking of all the friends you had made, of all the times they made you smile. It's the want to protect this love that fuels your attacks, heavy whips of deep-green GAEA scoring hard enough to BREAK God. The world resumes back to its normal speed, and He's clearly pissed about your defiance. He raises his segmented arm up high, and slams it down all at once—you sidestep it, and stick your tongue out at Him, even as chunks of earth fly up in the air from the blow.

From a distance, you shove your arms forward, a LINEAR BURST of AERO's magic running well beyond your fingertips. As the attack lands, He seems to hesitate from it, even if it were a petty mockery of His own attack before. AURA, your star-shaped Familiar, shrinks into itself—then rolls a sphere of crackling energy through the air. It's slow enough for you to hit with AERO's gale-force, and you backflip to send the combination attack blitzing right through His center. He folds over with a pained scream. A score of those little wings fade away.

But you know it'll take more than that to kill Him. Even as he rises back up and creates more Nightmares around you, you're prepared—you lash out around you with PYRA's fire, making flames erupt from underneath your enemies before they can even prepare to attack. They BREAK. Your Familiars blast them apart: Rapid's orange bullets and Pierce's shattering shot killing one, and Laser obliterating another by itself. They disappear as you suddenly suffer a decisive jab directly from the Messiah's arm; knocked breathless and helpless, you're slammed against, no, into the ground.

“................!!”

Love keeping you Unstoppable, you survive the mortal blow.

The Messiah tries to pull away from you, but you hold Him fast with both hands, digging your heels into the crater of earth to keep Him. You can't even breathe in yet, and you still find the strength in you to change into hot-pink ANIMA, slashing away at His arm with your shortened, strengthened wings. This time, when He tries to pull away, you let him bring you along for the ride. He brings His arm high into the air—that's when you let go. Your cyan outline framed against the moon, your wings fan out, and for the moment you hang in the air, you eclipse Him.

He tries to ruin your moment of grace by jabbing at you again; you Parry it at just the right time, the white diamond of protection reappearing to shield you from the attack. Finally, you let yourself breathe. You break through your own perfection, focusing LUNA's magic in front of you as you fall. Your wings are bundled together in a piercing strike, ripping through the Messiah. When you land, you pull your wings back from the earth, the resulting magic covering you and Him in a CHARGE EXPLOSION.

...

The Nightmare doesn't stir. He doesn't offer any pathetic, meek parting words this time. He keeps your Name out of His damned mouth. Your legs crumple underneath you, and you pant from exhaustion as you rest in God's corpse.

You have Heal look over its fellow Familiars before it attends to you, and you lovingly pet its head as its reward. Envious for attention, Laser pushes Heal out of the way so that you're scruffing up its head instead. Typical. You scoff, and grin.

...There's still sounds of fighting all around you, and above you. That floating island with red shapes pouring from all sides of itself seemed to have an endless supply of enemies. Fine. If killing Him wasn't enough to wake all of you up, you'd keep fighting. How disappointingly easy it was for you to grasp at the first chance of the world's erasure, and how hard it is to fight against it.

After this was all over, the Stars better come up with a better Dream for all of you to live in.

What's your favourite type of bird? I...‘ve never really had a favorite bird. How many friends do you have on Facebook? Good for you, I’m not feeling lazy to check tonight. 629. I don’t usually treat myself to that much food but it was my last day of school before the 5-day weekend started, I had just finished a brutal workout in PE, and I just felt like I deserved some kind of reward. What's the name of the store you usually get your groceries? We don’t have a permanent grocery but my mom would typically go to SM groceries or in a local grocery called Freshto that’s really near our village. Would you rather travel to Japan or Scotland? Japan. Does your house have a porch/balcony? It originally had one, but we refurbished the balcony and turned it into my brother’s room. We still kept a part of the original balcony intact though because it’s where my dog got used to peeing, and we didn’t want him to lose that space. We might’ve lost the balcony but we still have a rooftop if we wanted a view. What's your usual order when you go to a coffee shop? It depends, because the coffee shops I usually go to each have different drinks that I like; like I’d get an iced caramel macchiato in Starbucks, an iced mocha from Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, an iced hazelnut drink from this other local cafe we go to, etc. But I think in general, my security blanket is caramel macchiato. LEO BLOOD MOON ECLIPSE RITUAL JANUARY 2019.

The rare Super Blood Moon Eclipse falls in the sign of Leo on January 20-21st. This Eclipse is helping to bring closure to huge cycle of growth, healing, and transformation that we have been working with since 2017.

If we think back to this time in our lives, we can reflect on just how much we have grown and just how much we have changed. We may even be able to see how our lives have taken new shape and catapulted us into a new direction.

This Leo Eclipse is the last in the cycle, which means the final rebirth is here. This is the final release and culmination moment to all of this energy, and it’s the perfect time for ritual work.

The energy of the Moon will be strong and powerful, and the supporting cosmic energies will be heightening our sensitivity and making it easier to cross dimensions, tap into our intuition, and receive angelic downloads.

This is a time to really connect within, a time to replenish your soul, honor your journey, and to channel your higher self. This is a time to open to the guidance of the Universe, and to allow yourself to be directed whichever way the hand of the Eclipse guides you.

This ritual is a supportive, nourishing one that will help you to do just this. It will help you to open your psychic and intuitive energies, and to download wisdom of the past and future.

LEO SUPER BLOOD MOON ECLIPSE RITUAL

This ritual is best done from January 20th-February 1st or on February 20-21st, 2019

YOU WILL NEED:

Smudging tool of choice (sage, palo santo, oils etc.)

1 new candle (preferably white)

Safety pin or something similar to carve into your candle

Matches/lighter

Pen and paper

DIRECTIONS:

1. Set up your ritual as follows- Place the unlit candle on the middle of a table or on your altar. Have the room dimly lit and try to do this ritual away from any open windows or fans/air conditioners etc. (you will see why later!).

2. Smudge your aura first, then your surroundings and the candle.

As you smudge your aura recite the following:

“Cycles come and cycles go, it’s time to watch this wheel unfold. I cleanse myself from top to toe, I cleanse myself so I can grow. I release the energy that holds my heart, I release the energy of the dark. I release this energy so I may shine, I release this energy so I can become mine. I am cleansed, I am clear. I am cleansed, I am clear. I ask my spirit guides to hold me near, for I am cleansed, I am clear.”

As you smudge your surroundings, recite the following:

“The wheel has turned the seasons are changing, it’s time to clear the old. I release and let go of all that no longer serves me. I release and let go of all stagnant energy in this space. I clear and cleanse this space so it may welcome in the magic of the new. I clear and cleanse this space so it may feel light and free. My space is cleansed. I am whole. My space is cleansed. I am protected. My space is cleansed. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.”

3. Sit or lay down with eyes closed and take 10 deep breaths in and out. Settle your mind and just relax into your body. With eyes still closed, do a body scan. Start at your feet and imagine a beautiful golden light traveling up your feet, through each of your toes, and then up your ankles, to your knees, to your pelvic region and so on. Keep following this golden light until it shoots out the top of your head.

4. Open your eyes, place your hands on your heart and say – “I love you” to yourself. Give yourself a big warm hug and take a moment to thank yourself for all your hard work and efforts over the years.

5. Now, pick up your unlit candle and holding it in your hands say the following:

“I honor the changes that have been made to my body, mind, and soul. I honor the changes of the season for I have really grown. I ask Mother Moon, my highest self, my angels, and my guides to lead me to my highest path so I may rise. I rise up now to all that I have become. I rise up now as strong as the Sun. I ask for guidance, I ask for peace, I ask for this next chapter to bring me release. I ask for love, I ask for money, I ask for purpose, and the courage to follow my heart; to always be guided even when in the dark. I ask for health, I ask for joy, I ask for all to be well. Body, mind, and soul hear my calls. My wish is now fulfilled. All is well. All is well.”

6. Now take your unlit candle and the safety pin and begin by carving a spiral at the bottom of the candle. As you do this, try to get into a relaxed meditative state. Once you have completed your spiral, begin decorating the candle in any way that calls you. You can draw, write words of things you want to release or things you want to bring in, there is no right or wrong, just trust your intuition and decorate the candle in whatever way you wish.

Note: if your candle is in a plain glass jar, you can use a marker to decorate the glass instead if you wish.

7. Take 5 deep breaths and just take a minute to look at your decorated candle. Notice any themes or patterns that have come up for you. Notice what shapes and words you chose to include. Just observe any thoughts or feelings that arise.

8. Now take your candle and light it. Place your hands in prayer position at your heart center and gaze on the flame for a moment. Take 10 deep breaths here and as you do, imagine you are breathing in the light of the flame.

9. Watch and observe all the different colors that make up the flame, feel your body relaxing and your intuition opening as you continue to gaze.

10. With a clear mind, ask your candle a question. What do you want to know? What insights or intuitive wisdom do you want to receive? It can be any question you wish or whatever feels right in the moment. Ask your question and then watch what the flame does.

IF YOUR FLAME….

Stands taller: indicates that what you want is coming, your question has been heard and what you want is being delivered to you with ease in divine timing.

Gets smaller: indicates that you need to re-shift your focus or perhaps are looking or searching for something that is not aligned with your higher destiny. Reframe your way of thinking about things.

Flickers: indicates that what you want is coming about however, there may be some road bumps along the way or challenges to overcome first. This indicates a lot of growth for you in regards to your question but a positive outcome.

Leans left: you need to go back and look towards your past in order to move forward. Your past contains wisdom for you that will help with the answer to your question. Your past holds the answers you are looking for.

Leans right: you are sending out strong intentions that are being heard and listened to, however there may be more time needed before what you want will come your way. You would benefit from keeping your mind clearer and more focused on what you desire.

Leans towards you: you hold the key to getting what you want and gaining the answers you seek. You know more than you allow yourself to realize. The answers have already been given to you and you know what to do, you just need to remember.

Leans away from you: you need to take physical actions to bring about what you want. You need to also pay attention to the mind-body connection and be kinder to your body and support it with exercise, nourishing foods, sleep etc.

Goes blue: your spirit guides are near you and know what you desire, follow the signs of the Universe and it will lead you to where you need to be. Also an indication that you have strong intuitive energies and are ready to connect with your spirit guides and angels if you haven’t already. Give yourself permission to talk to them now.

Goes bright yellow: you need to get creative in order to bring what you desire into your life. You have creative energy that needs to be unlocked and will help you on your journey. Can also indicate success in a creative field.

Crackles: your spirit guides/higher self have been trying to communicate with you, but you are unable to hear. You need to open your heart and clear your mind in order to receive their message.

The best thing to follow here is your intuition. You may also find that your flame does more than one action, so feel free to take what resonates with you the most.

You can also ask as many questions as you wish, but thank the candle, pause and refocus in-between each question.

11. Once you are done asking questions, gaze on the candle flame once more for 7 breaths. Now, close your eyes and see the colors dancing behind your eyes. Focus on this for another 11 breaths.

12. Once the colors start to fade, imagine a doorway appearing. Behind this doorway is what you need to focus on right now at this time in your life. An important message is behind this door. When ready, push open the door and see what’s behind. Try not to judge, just observe.

13. When ready, open your eyes and feel free to jot down what you saw or experienced behind the door so you can remember it or work on the meaning over the coming months. Try to include all the details even if they don’t seem important, as you never know when they may come in handy.

14. To close the ritual, place your hands in prayer position over your heart center and take a moment to thank yourself, your guides and angels. You can also say this closing prayer if you wish:

“A new door has opened, a new journey has begun. I thank the Universe for all that it has done. I thank my body, I thank my mind, I thank myself for being kind. I thank the Universe for the Divine guidance I have received, I thank myself for all I have achieved. I thank the messages that have come through today, and I remain open to any further guidance that may come my way. Thank you. Thank you.”

15. Keep your candle burning for as long as you are around to attend to it. You can keep relighting the candle whenever is convenient for you, but try to work through it within 28 days of completing this ritual.

March Forecast for Capricorn

What’s the big idea, Capricorn? Well, you’ve got a bounty of them this month, as the Sun springs through Pisces and your third house of communication and knowledge until March 20. You’re hungry for new info and experiences, and you could have rich conversations that open your eyes to new ways of thinking. Kindred spirits can crop up, especially near the March 17 Pisces new moon. Explore ways you might collaborate on a small project to test your synergy.

The third house rules siblings, neighbors and the people you interact with in your daily goings-on. Make an effort to be more present as you pick up your latte, groceries and dry cleaning. Looking to spread the word or connect with like-minded people? Scout options locally while the Sun is heating up this social sector. The month also begins with an eye-opening full moon—the first of TWO this month—this one in Virgo and your ninth house of travel, inspiration, learning and growth. Like January, March is bookended by full moons on the first and last days. Do pace yourself for the first half of the month through it all. Energizer Mars is in low-power mode as it travels through Sagittarius and your restful twelfth house. The silver lining? Once the red planets zips into Capricorn for the first time since October 2016, you’ll be a walking magnet, exuding sex appeal, charisma and life-force energy. (Yeah baby!) Mark your calendar for your cosmic reawakening, as Mars marches through your sign from March 17 to May 16.

This highly individualistic phase will coincide with expansive Jupiter’s retrograde through Scorpio and your eleventh house of group activity from March 8 to July 10.
