skater!au curt & buck friendship headcannons:
(part of my skater!buck x college professor!bucky au wip)
curt & buck have been best friends since they were in preschool. their mothers were best friends so whenever they visited each other they brought the boys with them. queue the ensuing immediate connection because buck thought curt was the funniest thing in the world because the other boy shoved crayons up his nose just to get buck to laugh
curt forever calling buck 'sour-puss' because he always has a resting bitch face and always had one since they were kids. he was the first kid buck ever laughed with/at
curt was there for buck when he lost his mum in hs and all through buck's dad being an absolute deadbeat (as he always is) . he and buck would often go missing for days at a time after buck and his dad fought, but they'd always be at the skatepark learning new moves. anything to distract buck from what was going on at home
after hs the two moved in to a shitty apartment together downtown close to the skatepark. it's a bit rundown and very much needs fixing up but it became their safe-haven
both are just as wild and carefree as eachother but buck is the one to keep a level head in most situations, often being the one to get curt out of trouble. they still don't mention the great traffic cone incident of 2017.
curt is pansexual ("no, that doesn't mean i'm attracted to kitchenware, buck, you fuckin' idiot"), he doesn't care who or what you are. the man is all about free love and accepting who you are without a second thought. so when buck came out to him just after highschool nervous as all heck he just shrugged and asked him if he wanted to get stoned and order pizza to celebrate 'finally getting his head out of his ass'
if you mess with one, you mess with both. buck is a silent force of revenge and if someone fucks with curt you won't know you were even a target until the last second. the last time one of the other skaters had a go at curt for being a 'queer' they found themselves eating the pavement at the bottom of the bowl because the wheels on their board had somehow come loose and fallen off mid-push off. that ended with a trip to the hospital and both buck and curt innocently sitting up against the chainlink fence far enough away that no one suspected a thing
another incident resulted in a lighter exploding in one of the other guy's hands when he was trying to light a smoke. no grievous injuries occurred from that one but eyebrows became non existent and hair was singed.
curt is a little more direct in his approach. he's not afraid to sock someone in the jaw for picking fights with buck or insulting him. he's more likely to just walk up to you and deck someone for being a bigot or just a downright asshole. It works fair enough, and soon everyone knows not to mess with either of the boys unless you wanted a black eye or a missing tooth.
no one could beat curt in a fight either. he took boxing in highschool and won a few trophies, so he's pretty clued in and quick on his feet
both have messed around with each other before when either drunk/high/sober, but they never became anything more than best friends. it was a mutual exchange a few times and it didn't change the way they thought about each other. Curt- "it's just consensual experimentation, two bros helping eachother out. plus who wouldn't want a piece of that pretty face"
buck often helped curt hook up/get with with whoever he was crushing on, curt often singing his praises of being the best wing-man a dropout skater boy could ask for
curt is the one who pushed buck into continuing with college and getting a higher secondary education after hs. he told him he can't drop out because he doesn't want to see his bestfriend become a complete dead-beat, which ended up with buck breaking down into a blubbering mess while high af because he felt like a failure and that his 'mom would be so fucking disappointed man what the fuck would she think'
curt slapped him for that one which knocked some sense into him enough to go and apply for a few courses the next day
I have so many more to add to this but I think I should stop here for now 😂😂 I'm gonna have so much fun with this universe

Two Humans in the Demon Realm - Fantasy And Nightmare
What if by the time Luz Noceda the human emerged into the demon realm...some other human did, too? However, instead of being joyful of being surrounded by all they love and taken in by a kind and openhearted witch...they are terrified of this place, taken in by the ruler of the realm?
[Basically I watched TOH again and dammit HUNTER SHALL HAVE A FRIEND I SAY NOT UNTIL S2 but NOW I SAY NOW]
BECOMING THE GOLDEN GUARD'S/HUNTER'S HUMAN FRIEND BECAUSE I SAID SO
Part 2 of this
Tumblr media
Things seemed to become okayish.
The visits were more frequent and the Golden Guard would come in with different, hopefully tastier dishes to you. "Your little drawings of human food aren't the best, you know." He said as he returned with a plate of hot...moving...algae? When all you drew for him was bacon.
They don't even have bread here *crying*.
Alongside the questionable food he also brought writing utensils, something akin to a magical board and the like. You were unsure and so let him use the majority when teaching him about glyphs.
The Golden Guard would nod and hum before grabbing everything under his arm and excusing himself off until the next time he visits you. At times he seemed to be in a good mood so you assumed he made progress - yet he mostly returned tired and grumpy so you did not try your luck to ask how much progress he was doing and how much of it was actually successful.
You did not even know what he's doing with the knowledge or why he needs it.
Still...being kept in a room out of everyone's sight can be boring...and overwhelming.
You've asked your guard a couple of times if there isn't any other new places to be. Just for fresh air. Or to feel the sunlight directly and not through the window you weren't even allowed to touch.
However, one day after requesting it a couple of times, the Golden Guard halted with you almost bumping into him, spun around and agreed.
Under one condition: You'd go outside of the castle's barriers and into the wild to practice wild magic.
Learning about it by theory was no problem but the Guard couldnt risk practicing any of it on Belos' territory. The punishment would be too severe.
Besides...he won't ever tell you but he's scared of using it. Wild magic is dangerous.
Not that he wants to endanger your life but you have far more experiences with it, so he likes to believe that things will turn out fine if you practice them out. He can stay back with the theories on paper and you can actually cast them.
So clad once again with the humble scout uniform, you made your way - though you feel like you instant traveled or zapped - to an abandoned shore. The sea and cliffs would shield you from unwanted attention.
The Golden Guard is very much aware of what a risk he's taking - but it could lead to an solution, to healing.
He is still doing his job. Looking after you and making sure you don't kill yourself through careless spellcasting of wild magic. Thats what he tells himself at least.
The hours pass by and the two of you were engrossed in the many glyphs and the possibilities they offer. You so effortlessly draw them into the sand, it leaves him a bit impressed.
You finish drawing each glyph that you know. "I'm sure there are many more but the majority are like...basic ones from nature, you know? Light, fire, plants...they seem like any other magic spell of your Emperor's Coven, I don't know what else they could do."
He trotted over with his staff, inspecting the glyphs further. "They can be. I've read about it." He passed you by, letting the end of his staff draw along the sand and connecting your drawings with his own lines. "Magic has layers even when the core is the same. Light is more than just able to see in the dark, it filters through the atmosphere we exist in and can cast shadows - thats already another path that light glyph opens up for you!" You noted how much lighter and higher his tone gets as he jogs around the shore, drawing more circles. "Back then before the Savage Times witches were able to create more spells with their imagination and willpower alone just through understanding each core-!"
His figure froze mid-drawing as his gaze met your quizzical one. Straightening his posture, he cleared his throat and intentionally spoke sternly. "I, uh, read that. It's history 101 here on the Boiling Isles, nothing...crazy. You wouldn't know that."
You can't help but crack a smile. "You sure know a lot about magic even if it can be scary. You must be a master by now, is that what it means to be the Golden Guard?" You smiled and meant it as a compliment but your companion just seemed to shrink, looking away from you. "Magic isn't scary, well, wild magic doesn't have to be. There's an immense, just...pool of unlimited possibilities, its what this entire isle is made of. Magic at the very beginning was just like this, wild, and kind of endless," Halting, he continued in a low tone, "...but it can get out of control, thats why its wild in the first place. If you're not careful, if you don't know what you are doing, people might get hurt and-"
He hit a rock when shifitng his weight. A part of the circle had been cut by his foot and he gazed down at the grande symbol you two created. It seemed like art but he knew it couldn't ever be.
Taking a deep breath he called out louder with his hand shooting out. "Thats why I am the Golden Guard, yes, I'll take care of this, of everything. So stay back, human-!"
One shift of his foot too much and he came in contact with a glyph. The lines glowed a bright green and before he knew it, the Guard let out a yelp as his staff went flying up to the cliffs, getting stuck in the rocks.
"No! No, no, no!" His hands clutched his head. You jogged over to him and offered the lightest of condolences. "We can get it back. Should be easy with, yeah, magic-" Your shoulders jumped up, retracting your finger that was playfully drawing circles in the air when your companion started clinging up the cliff, only to slide and fall down again and again. You called out to him in assurance but had to snap when he didnt stop even when his uniform got ripped.
"Hey, hey, you're gonna get hurt! Just wait a moment!"
"I can't! This staff was given to me by Belos!"
"Just focus and cast a spell to get it back!"
His sudden silence surprised you. The Golden Guard shrunk in himself and avoided your gaze. He stood still for a few more awkward minutes - until you took a deep and loud breath.
"...Can't you...cast a magic spell? Like something with the wind, maybe?"
Once again, he stayed quiet and you took your book in your hands before drawing a circle in the sand. "Here, I'll go get it. I'll stand right here and jump on the vine, you'll just have to activate the glyph for me." Once again, he looked away before you urged him more with a trying smile. "You can do it, Golden Guard."
Without another exchange you took your position. The Guard hesitated as he kneled down. "I..."
Gingerly he grazed the outline with one finger and a small sprout grew - before he snapped his hand back and it died instantly.
Looking up to you - and somehow you could tell that he asked you on the 'how'. "You just touch it," you smiled, "I need it to be big and strong...you said that witches used to do that with willpower and imagination, right? Maybe...we could try that." You could feel his gaze, could tell how his chest heaved but with a deep breath he slammed his hand onto the sand. At the contact the glyph glowed bright, a sprout emmitted and you were quick to jump on the growing vine.
In an blink of an eye, the staff was retreated and the guard slowly imagined the vine becoming smaller and reshaping into a flower - which it did the moment you landed on your feet.
"Here." You returned the weapon that you so awkwardly held, "...That thing seems more unstable than my glyphs - from holding it at least."
You tried to smile for him but he remained silent. Throwing sand over the drawn glyphs, the both of you returned to the castle without another word.
Back in the discreet room, you took off the mask of the scout uniform with a frown. "Hey...I won't question anything of that...instance if you don't want me to."
He snapped his head back at you before slowly letting it fall. All you got were mumbles under his breath.
With yet another awkward smile that you could muster, you pointed towards his scraped skin. "I found some bandages here the other day...we'd best patch that up before it gets infected...if that uh, happens around here." This time however, he shook his head. "I can take care of myself. I don't need...your help..."
Underneath his mask he scowled as his words trailed off. What a lie.
He's pathetic.
Still, you tried to urge him to let you tend to him with sticking plaster in hand. Begrudgingly he let you - a bit unsure still. Even the act of sitting on that bed - which is your bed now (has been for a while...he wonders how long you'll stay) - has him thrown off. The confident aura of the Golden Guard leaving him and letting him down.
You talk about what you still were able to learn today, how in your world, water is connected to healing or seen as healing - after all, magic was fiction in your realm that you saw in "movies"...whatever illusions those might be - so maybe magic including a water glyph might ease his pain (which no, that's not how it works. However...he does not interrupt you).
It makes him realizes he doesn't know much about your realm despite keeping you here so that Belos can learn more about it. But what he does realize that in your strange human way, you were trying to comfort him.
He thinks. He never has been comforted before, not like this. Belos never comforted him like this.
After all was patched up, he was quick to collect his staff and leave yet stopped before reaching the door. "...Thanks..." You heard him hesitate and could almost not believe what he was saying, "...for today. And...for the other time where you helped me...with your wild magic."
A smile graced your face and your eyes lit up in a way that the Golden Guard did not know what to think of it. "You're welcome." Quickly he avoided your gaze. "But don't go overboard. Wild magic is dangerous, you could get hurt. So don't do anything without my supervision."
His attempt at sounding stern didn't go unnoticed but as he left, you couldn't find it in yourself to take it personal.
Things have become...challenging. For him.
He stood there with food in his hand right in front of your door, the illusion spell gone for a moment. In his pocket were a few bandages.
He can return your used ones - then again they aren't yours, they belong to the Emperor as everything does here on the Boiling Isles. Well, you could still have some in stock in case you get hurt with wild magic - which isn't something HE can allow to happen as the Golden Guard!
He groans and just goes in.
In time you appreaciated his visits. The extra bandages weren't...neccessary but welcomed. The dishes he brought resembled your doodles more and were *gasp* actually tasty! You asked him if he spend time in the kitchen and he answers embarrassingly (but at least you cannot see the cuts on his hands).
The Golden Guard liked taking his time with wild magic lessons this time though. The outings aren't this far away anymore but each one was at a different place that you appreciated.
You were more open to tell him of your human world. Of quiet nights, of animals like wolves and how the rain is soothing and not boiling. How humans liked to go swim in the ocean as a pass time! (insanity to him).
You mentioned that he'd get it if he would see it...you hoped you'd be able to see it too.
It was interesting...if not fantastical in his mind.
Even with your frequent meetings with Belos who grew more and more impatient, he always stood by your side. Protecting you even with excuses when the emperor chose harsh words. Nevertheless, the man always tried to be a delight in your presence but you could never truly believe him. He did not make ultimatums or threatened or hurt you...did he pity you because you were human?
You always made sure to thank your guard in situations like these even when he had trouble accepting your gratitude or showing any of his own. You assumed he was never upset by it though.
However, when it came to him he was more than reserved. Any questions of his day, interests, well-being, age or even his name he never really answered. It felt all too compelling to just give up on asking him.
The day started off normal enough. What you learned was normal around here.
The Golden Guard announced that he'd go on a mission right before bidding goodbye after his visits. It will be on the airship...not known to Belos but he will be happy with that he'd bring back. No, you cannot come.
"It's top secret, so just between you and me. I won't be back after bringing in victory so don't try to leave this room - okay, byyyeeee!"
There he was again zapping away and leaving you to kill off your boredom all by yourself. It wasnt until the late evening when crashing and guards stomping by your room was heard. In a panic you rushed towards the wall to eavesdrop.
'Airship' and 'Golden Guard' was all you could hear out by a small, high-pitched voice...squealing over the possibility of his death and taking his place.
Your heart skipped a beat and your throat felt dry. Death? What did they mean with him dying? Taking his place? This - This has to be a joke!
But the demon realm taught you quick that nothing was a joke here. Many things could have taken your life and you were sure members of the Emperor's Coven would be more than willing to be the most dangerous things on the isles.
There was no time to think. Your heart was pounding so hard leaving you with a headache yet you did not stop when putting on the scout uniform nor did you falter when stealing from the Healing Coven's closet. It was terrifying but you did not think about it nor about the consequences that could follow if Belos found out. You could imagine that he wouldn't be pleased when the human got out of his castle.
You refused to think about it or else you might shake in your boots with no power to continue to help him.
Sneaking out you were met with rubble and it confirmed your suspicions. You didn't know how to really find him if other witches were already after him. Making sure you stayed out of anyone's sight, you tightly held onto the bag filled with healing potions. You stumbled through the dark and the debris, falling hard enough to lose your mask - but secured the bottles from shattering.
It's alright, you tell yourself and took a deep breath, you can still hide your ears with the cape.
Other scouts searched the area and suddenly you had a bad feeling about dressing as one yourself. Though beyond the orders shouted out, you heard a high voice not belonging to any of the Emperor's Coven and followed it. Without realizing whats in front of you, you collapsed with another person.
You shrieked but caught the bottles just in time. Whipping your head up, you came face to face with another witch - a boy your age with hair pale blonde, scars on his face and ear and heavy eyebags just under his ruby red eyes.
His jaw hung open with a tooth gap peeking from his lips. He looked at you as if he couldn't believe his eyes.
Before he could speak you interrupted him: "Have you seen the Golden Guard?!"
Jumping, he recoiled.
You only stared at him with white panic. "He was steering the airship that crashed here I heard! I, I've got to find him - Emperor's orders!" You hoped he'd take the bait - but only kept staring at you in shock.
In turn you shook your head with a scoff and passed by him yet still stopped and gazed at him over your shoulder. "...You look hurt," Your hand fished out a few potions, "I got these for him but you look like you could use them, too." Without another word you shoved a few potions into his arms and made a run deeper into the debris.
After your figure dissapeared, he still stood there. Beyond the smoke another person emerged through. "Who was that?" Her brown eyes looked worriedly over to him as she adjusted the cape around her round ears.
The blonde frowned before quickly packing the potions out of her sight. "No one. Let's go."
The moment he got back, he barged into your room.
It was long nighttime. You did not sleep, refused to rest your eyes as you skimmed around your book for some kind of glyph that lets you track people. Find their belongings, their status. Anything.
He should've expected it but it still startled him when you rushed over, yelling at him with panicked eyes on where he had been.
The Golden Guard told you the truth - part of it at least and sprinkled a bit of fantasy on it. How he was found and brought back to the castle.
"And what about 'taking your place'?! I saw members of the Coven trying to track you down and..." Your eyes softened, your face grim, "...they talked about getting rid of you."
He looked briefly away from your sullen gaze. "They weren't able to."
"So thats just, a thing that happens here? Scouts and generals wanting to get rid of others for their position?! Thats not normal! Thats something that happened in kingdoms and dynasties and..."
You halt and deflate. Your arms that were wildly gesturing just a moment ago slowly fell to your sides. "...empires."
The Golden Guard assured you while shaking his head. "Listen, I don't know what these are but! I'm fine! I'm fine. You don't have...to worry about someone like me."
"Your airship crashed, thats enough reason to worry - and after hearing the members of your own Coven want you dead, of course I'd come looking for you!"
You saw his shoulders jump. He tilted his head up in surprise and even though you couldn't see it, you were sure he was stunned. It only made you frown more.
"...Of course I'd look for you."
The way you looked at him was the final resolution he believed he needed. A sigh escaped and hit his mask as he avoided your gaze. "...Yeah, you did. You saved me. Thanks..." He saw you straightening your back as your head rose and your face grimaced with a puzzled expression. He bet you must be so confused, maybe hurt - of course you are, you just said it yourself. But still, he put the empty bottles into your hands.
"Human, I have to tell you something..." His voice shook as his hands went up to remove his mask. A gasp escaped you as the same bad but sad boy was looking at you. His blonde hair tussled and unruly as his red eyes seemed to beg you not to he angry. They were bandages on his face which somewhat eased your worries. He was hurt and roughed up but not as much as you feared.
"Why didn't you tell me that was you?" You approached him unsurely and he seemed to back away. He twiddled with his fingers and couldnt meet your eyes. "...No one was supposed to see me. I barely take off my mask anyway, only to Belos. And..." He scowled slightly, "I didn't know what to do. I didn't expect you, you weren't even supposed to be there!"
"I was worried they'd kill you! That was true what I heard, wasnt it? Or is that also a lie?" "I'm not lying to you!" He snapped back with a bit more bite in him, "Kikimora constantly tries to take my place! Thats why it was so weird to see you there with healing potions looking for me! And...I should thank you. I wanna thank you." As quick as his fierce glare came, it was gone again as the blonde shrunk meekly, begrudgingly admitting his fault in a soft voice. "...No one's done that for me before. Not even...Belos..."
You frown was filled with pity. "I figured as much." You softly let out and motioned towards your bed. With hesitancy, he sat down at the edge and you followed to do the same. Now sitting next to him, you hesitated yourself. "Is there anything more I should know?" "What do you want to know?" Looking back up, he saw you glaring slightly at him. "Your name for example. Or are you just known as the Golden Guard?"
"No!"
Your anger was nothing compared to the way he snapped.
But as fast as it came, he slowly shrunk again, turning away and fiddling with his hands.
His voice softened once again.
"...My name is Hunter."
You repeated his name and it left a shiver down his spine. Hearing you out of all people say it is weird, it is all so weird. No one adresses him by his name but you just did as if it were normal.
"Well...it's nice to meet you properly, Hunter." Again, you are acting weird, smiling at him ever so slightly and even if it was forced, it seemed genuine to him. That you'd even say something like that. You even repeated your name as if it really is the first time you two met.
He awkwardly shook your offering hand.
"It's...nice to meet you, too."
"But why are you telling me all this, Hunter?"
His red eyes flickered to the side before a more serious expression graced his face. He took a deep breath before staring into your eyes. "There's something you need to know." He began dryly, "When I was out there, running away from Kiki...I was with someone else. It...was another human, just like you."
Your eyes widened.
"If I'm right, she comes from the same place that you do. I believe she appeared later on the Boiling Isles than you did and she might have the means to return. She is not...a friend, but I can bring you to her."
"There is a way back home?!" Jumping up from the bed, you barely could believe your luck. But it still left you confused. "But...can you tell me even this? I-is that something I'm supposed to know? What about Belos?"
Hunter looked back up to you, his hands tightly gripping his knees. "You deserve to know. You...are the nicest, weirdest person I've ever met. And you want to go back home, to somewhere you belong..." Sadness briefly glimmered in his eyes and they glance back at you, "Human, I - no," Hunter corrected himself by saying your name, "I have to pay you back for all the...things you've done for me. Even if I am just a powerless witch...I want to help you get back to your realm."
You were speechless. Taking a step towards him, you opened your mouth but the next words that were heard were not yours but chirping.
On the window behind Hunter, was a red bird watching you two.

Mr. Villain's Day Off Episode 2: Earth Is Formidable Indeed
Tumblr media
Unsurprisingly, this episode is more of what I expected from this series, and curiously enough the source of the shortcomings isn't the production. Still, the episode is plenty enjoyable and the new storyboarder for this episode excels at a few things, meaning it's not quite a cut and dry conversation. Of course, that means I've got a good bit to chat about once more.
So, the first episode was boarded by Kunihisa Sugishima, and I raved about their effort and eye for approaching the series. This time around the episode is boarded by Kenichi Nishida, and they very much lack the tools to provide consistent depth and finesse in lighter scenes.
Tumblr media
I wouldn't go as far as calling it "bad", or even "lazy" really. Nishida's work as a storyboarder has almost exclusively been on low-value and children's productions in the first place. It's more a mindset of what appeals to and is accepted by the target demographic, because there's certainly pieces that are well done.
Tumblr media
It's just that Nishida needs a hand holding his in these moments to provide something good. If the manga doesn't approach the content in a novel format, Nishida's boards will reflect that. If it's creative like this moment, then you'll get good work.
Tumblr media
It's a little disappointing to see, but it shows how much Mr. Villain's Day Off relies on higher level staff members. There's not much animation to begin with, so the need for expressive and well laid out boards is very strong. Basically, if we don't have a good storyboarder on an episode it won't be all that incredible, but when there is one the content will really thrive off of it.
One aspect I think that could really help with moving reliance away from specific positions though is composition. The color design is really really great and adds a lot to the backgrounds, but the art is very simple. Because of that scenes can feel really flat if there's not many characters or foreground objects in them.
Tumblr media
And in a way, there's some sort of undeniable charm to how much Red stands out in this scene, but I feel like there's more potential if the composition and visual effects were a little heavier in sequences like these. Darkening the sky and color palette some more, bringing out the shadows in the streets thanks to the lampposts, just small details that fill up a scene a bit better than what we have here.
Bringing up the slider on the amount of composition would just help in pulling dependence away from what a storyboarder can create and help bring some more balance to the episodes.
Though for how much I'm complaining about the boards in this episode, there really are moments that are quite good.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I just think that a lot of Nishida's good work gets washed away by their bog-standard efforts that employ nonstop zooming and panning to add variation. It's a bit of a cheap trick and quickly becomes tiring when overused, especially in longer sequences like this one.
Admittedly though, I will say that Nishida's sense of humor does do well in this episode. It's not great, and it's not perfectly consistent, but there are more than a few moments that translate well from the manga under his supervision.
Speaking of translation, I only realize today that the production has been changing around the order of the skits and outings in the series. I think it's a very intelligent change due to its nature but I'm curious to see how it ends up playing out. I say that because while a lot of the chapters are isolated in the grand scheme of things, there's a lot of piece that end up conntected.
Take, for example, the kid with the blue hat. The panda sequence and rabbit petting one are actually separated by a good few chapters in the manga.
The point being that while a lot of chapters feel isolated at a small scale, they tend to become more valuable in the larger scheme of the manga, so I'm wondering how they're going to approach that reshuffling for some of the moments they've passed by so far.
All in all though, this really is much more in line with my expectations for Synergy SP and Shin-Ei. Seeing such disparate episodes so early on though has me very interested in seeing who else we get as storyboarders for this series, as they evidently hold a lot of the production value in their own hands. Though I suppose I'll find out more about that next week.

Ty for all your prompts @wrenegadeone I'll be getting to them all ❤️
Eddie needed to get out of the city, like far out of the city. His dad had been taken in for multiple grand theft auto charges and he didn't want to be pinned for the few times he's helped him if his dad decides to save his own ass. Which is why he finds himself in a small town of mainly farms called Hawkins. Nowhere close to his dad and his bullshit.
He'd discovered a the small town hall a collection of job postings, one of the farms was offering food and board for a farmhand which suited Eddie perfectly since he only had a few bucks to his name, not enough for a room at the inn.
The Harrington farm was on the edge of town, not secluded but still private. It had been a bit of a bitch to walk all the way there but the air was fresher here and made Eddie feel lighter. He knocked on the front door of the farmstead, holding the notice nervously.
"Can I help you?"
Eddie spins around and is met with the most beautiful man he's ever seen, looking rough and sweaty in his work clothes.
"I-Um, I saw the notice in the town hall, I'm new in town and was hoping for some work?"
The man smiles, "Oh! Great, was hoping someone would reply, didn't expect a city boy like yourself, but beggars can't be choosers. I'm Steve, Steve Harrington." Steve holds out his hand.
Eddie smiles back and shakes Steve's hand, "Eddie, Eddie Munson." Eddie hoped that his family's reputation didn't reach this far. Since Steve's smile didn't waver he felt safe.
Steve showed Eddie around the farm, Steve mainly had orchards so Eddie would be helping trim the trees, weeding and harvesting the fruit. His room was small but better than he expected and over dinner that night Eddie found that Steve was a great cook.
Eddie thought that the jobs didn't sound that hard, he quickly discovered he was wrong. It started with the wake up call at barely dawn. Steve who had gotten up even earlier to make breakfast laughed and called him a city boy again when Eddie grumbled out of bed and got into the work clothes Steve had given him.
Eddie had only driven an automatic before and so Steve had told him he'd have to teach him how to drive the tractor another day. The tasks of the day sounded simple, they had to trim the newer apple trees so that they would grow correctly for next year's season and harvest the peach trees.
Turns out Eddie isn't as strong as he thinks he is, the smaller branches are fine but the ones Steve has marked that are a bit thicker take both of his hands to slice with the cutters and he slips, cutting his palm. Steve his quick to reassure him and wrap his hand, telling him that when he was younger he got all kinds of scraps and bruises until he got strong enough for the work. Eddie feels better knowing that Steve isn't going to get rid of him straight away.
The peach harvesting goes much better, at least at first. Steve shows him how to tell which peaches are ready and gives him a step ladder to reach the higher ones. Eddie learns more about Steve as they pass conversation between them moving down the rows. He learns that Steve moved to Hawkins to escape his dad who wanted Steve to become a lawyer like him, Steve didn't want that at all so took all of his trust fund and bought the farm. Eddie almost brought up his own dad then, but didn't want to lose his job so soon.
They'd almost finished when Eddie had tripped with his basket coming down from the step ladder and spilled all of the peaches. "Shit, I'm so sorry," Eddie says scrambling to pick them all back up. "Hey, hey Eddie it's alright, accidents happen, no worry," Steve laughs, laughing softly and bending to help him. "You've been so nice to me, Steve, I just want to do right by you and do a good job." Steve smiles, "You're doing great, Eddie, I promise."
By the time the work day is done Eddie is exhausted, but he insists on helping Steve make dinner, Steve shows him how to make peach cobbler for their dessert and a treat for his first day. Over dinner Eddie comes clean about why he's in Hawkins, not wanting to lie to Steve.
"I don't care about who you were before, Eddie, you're not your dad in the same way I'm not mine. I still want you here."
Months pass and the two men become closer. Eddie gets stronger and learns how to drive a manual. One night Eddie surprises Steve with apple pie, a recipe he learnt from his grandmother when he was young, and Steve kisses him.
Two men once defined by their name become something better together in the fresh air, far away from the city.

what is loves ? (nines x gn! reader part2)
Tumblr media
Okay so in this story Connor and Gavin are a couple :3
L/n : last name
______
Nines pov :
As I sent the message to Connor, I waited a bit before getting a response
C : what do you mean?
N : it's for the case, maybe it was something love related so I need to gather more information, detective l/n left so I can't ask them.
It was half true actually, but Connor didn't needed to know what happened with his software earlier.
C : can't you research it?
N : I did but the definition is incomplete and doesn't help, why would humans have butterflies in the stomach? Can androids get them too?
C : it's an analogy - anyway, in some cases, love can make an another person do crazy things like kidnapping their lover so they can only see them, killing an "opponent" to keep them or even killing the loved one if they can't have them, do you understand?
N : yes I think so.. It's unpredictable like deviants right? But why people like love so much if it hurts?
C : well.. Nothing is all black or white in a relationship, it's more Grey, and sometimes it gets darker or lighter, for example, when hank found out I was dating Gavin, he got absolutely crazy and pursued him in all of the office, hank and I have a "father and son" relationship, he thought he meant well but ended up hurting my feelings, so he apologized and accepted Gavin, well sort off.
N : I think I understand better now, thank you
C : no problem, good night
Many days passed since this night but the "feelings" Nines was experiencing, we're getting bigger and bigger every time something happens between both of you. Even if it was something very little. On the good way, you all almost got the case clear, you all just needed to go to the suspects house and interrogate them, easy right?
Nines knocked on the door, Connor was on his left while you and Gavin were behind them, hank being at the station for something else and would come later.
"anybody home!?" screamed the Rk900, at first nothing, but you all heard shuffling inside, Gavin drew his pistol out and so did you, the androids broke the door and you all started to search the house after your suspect.
You got downstairs when Gavin searched at the kitchen, nines got into the rooms and Connor made sure the suspect couldn't get away, there was a 50/50 chance that the suspect would be armed, but oh nines was wrong to let you go down there alone. The three of them heard a loud scream and shuffling coming from the basement, the upgraded android was faster to get down and reach to you, there was no much light but with his advanced optics, he could see many pictures on a board, some crossed with a red X or a big circle also in red, all of them being android-human couples. The next one was a picture of you and him, going out in the park and talking about some personal stuff, when did that happened? Why didn't he noticed him take a picture?
But that wasn't the more alarming thing, he had you under his gun, yours being far away behind, he scanned you and saw you had a broken arm, due to fighting against this monster. His fists clenched and he lowly cursed.
"STAY WHERE YOU ARE OR I'LL SHOOT THEM!"
Nines searched all the possibilities, you had a chance of survival of 20%, he had to save you. He couldn't lose you.
He contacted Connor to tell him to stay upstairs and call backups, as much as he despised this man, he tried to talk with him to gain more time.
"why do you do this, killing these couples?"
"IT'S NONE OF YOUR DAMN BUISNESS GOD DAMN MACHINE!"
Chance of survival : 10% ⬇️
"we aren't even a couple, juste coworkers, if you hate so much androids I'm the one you should kill not them."
"Nines no-"
Chance of survival 30% ⬆️
"yeah you are right, androids always fucks up everything! I had a wife, and kids! This bitch cheated on me with him! Heck even my kids doesn't speak to me anymore saying he is a better dad than I am!"
"I-I understand your hatred towards us but why do you kill the humans too? Don't you want to protect your own r-race?" you managed to say, even if it was hard to breathe with his arm around your throat.
"I-I guess I wanted to get rid of the people who thought they were alive, so no one would think like them anymore and see they were only machines.. Only big ass roombas doing the chores!"
Chance of surviving 50% ⬆️
you started to cry, having the man's arm under your throat and all the  stress was making you crazy, you  looked at nines with pleading eyes.
"i'll take their place as the hostage, let them go"
the man grinned and looked at nines
" oh no they are more valuable than you, you can get easily replaced right ? they can't"
that's when a sound was heard behind the man's head, a pistol where you take the safety off, there  was hank, he appeard through the big window in the basement and stood behind the threat.
"hands where i can see them, no sudden moves"
hank got upstairs with him so the other officers could take care of him. you dropped on your knees, crying, the rk900 came closer and stroked your cheeks, taking the tears away.
" are you alright ? no other injuries ?"
"no i'm okay..thank you nines, you saved me.."
the android's LED spinned yellow and red at your words, why did you thanked him, it's hank who saved you after all.
"i didn't do anything i-"
"no that's not true, you are the one who runned when i screamed, who gained more time and contacted the others, if you weren't there, i would either be dead or a threat to the others, so thank you for that"
you took his hands in yours, he then did the thing you didn't know he could do, he hugged you, tightly but not too tight to cause any discomfort to your broken arm. tears of joy started to make their way on your cheeks and you hugged back.
"why did you wanted to sacrifice yourself nines ? i want to know.." you looked at him in concern
"because..you are the most amazing human i know, i can't take it when you are hurt, and i can be easily replaced after all"
"no don't say that i..i don't want an another rk900 sent here i...i just want you"
you stroked his cheek and started to get closer, nines came closer and kissed you on the lips tenderly. you separated and connected your foreheads together.
"you broke protocol didn't you ?"
"yes, only for you"
that's when the basement opened to a worried connor who smiled when he saw both of you in each others arms, the funny part was when gavin poked his head to see what was going on and screamed at the top of his lungs :
"ARE YOU GUYS GONNA COMME OUTTA HERE OR FUCK ALREADY !?"
you both laughed as you got upstairs, nines putted you in the ambulance and waved as you got away to get taken care of, he turned to a smiling connor holding his boyfriend hand, who was muttering god knows what and was red as a tomato.
"i wish you to be happy nines"
both of the rk units smiled and the predecessor got in a car to go back to the dpd, making reports with his partner, the rk900 looked at his hands then at the sky, smiling
many adventures awaits both of you, hopefully for the best

I'm kinda with you on the joke-too-far thing BUT... Jimmy is a grown man who apparently *instructs* his friends to pick on him, according to his intro to that one stream vod. It's his bit, and he leans into it -- and he's more than capable of saying "Okay guys, let's move on." And while Grian and Joel and the rest do a good job of playing assholes, if you watch their vods or bts stuff at all you can see that they're really not. Grian in particular is VERY self-doubting and constantly looks for reassurances that he's not wasting everyone's time. So I wouldn't worry too much -- Jimmy likes playing the beleaguered victim and whatever happens is a bit that has been approved beforehand (especially on empires, where the cc's have repeatedly said that they discuss all story stuff before it actually happens.)
No of course not, I know Jimmy’s completely on board with it all! That was one of the tags from the original post that I didn’t include when I reblogged it. ^^
The main point is that - yes, Jimmy being the butt of the joke is a funny bit. It’s his Brand at this point. I mean Grian showed up in his town with the express purpose of tormenting him, and it was one of the funniest moments I’ve seen in the crossover thus far. But the Toy Sheriff thing has been going on so long and been taken so far that it’s not as enjoyable for folks watching anymore. (And truly there are some of us who would love to see him come out on top more often lol. I think going lighter/more sporadic with jokes like that makes them funnier when they do show up too.)
On top of that I really love the build style he’s been using this season, and I want to see what else he can create (because his skills have improved over the years; I mean I was watching Evo recently and…oof lol, you can feel the difference). But so much focus has been on the Toy Story joke for months and months, to the point where it’s the main argument some of his chat members have between eachother when Jimmy’s streaming. It was funny for a while but it’s been overdone to the point where it’s not really that enjoyable anymore 😅
Laugh at Jimmy, sure! Like you said, it’s his Thing and he leans into it. But maybe let’s change up the punchline!
EDIT: (because I had a belated thought about this) How about comparing this to the Bdubs Is Short bit? It’s hysterical, has been for years! But the main reason it is still funny is because it’s not overdone. It crops up here and there or is moved past after only a few seconds, depending on who brings it up. But we also get to see Bdubs get praised on the flipside, succeeding and being noticed for it, earning genuine praise for his building or comedy or - whatever. They treat his sleeping/clock bit in a positive light even though it’s also used for comedy sometimes. It’s about balance, I think, and that’s…yeah. That’s what makes a quality comedic bit.
(And I think that’s why the Horn Club bit in Double Life worked, because it was both a win AND lose scenario for Jimmy when it came down to it.)

Hi! So my questions for the Q&A are:
Will Powder and Silco meet in the future?
What's Powder's fashion style in the fic? Do you have any visual description of an outfit she'd wear in the revolution verse, or an aesthetic pic with the right feel?
Speaking of visual aids, I'm sorry but can you help me out identifying the support cast and who is who from the show? It took me an embarrassing amount of time to realize who Scar and Kai were from the show, and Eve I know is the pink haired Firelight Jinx shorts, but I'm a bit confused as for the others 😅
Favorite scene you've written so far?
Scene from the future you're most excited to write?
Can you share a future fluffy moment between Powder and Ekko we should be excited about?
What has been/will be the more taxing scene to write due to its political and personal importance to you?
I think that's it, sorry if I pushed the bar 😅
oh my gosh these are great lol and certainly provide a (more than welcome) challenge! I'll do my best!
the plan is that they get to meet at least once, not far from the end of the story. By then, things have gotten pretty crazy, and Powder has to appeal to Silco's dad mode
I feel like Powder would still be generally in the Jinx color palette, lots of pinks and purples and black, but also blue. Lots of tank tops and t-shirts, and she's pretty much always stomping around in combat boots. I imagine her wearing a good bit of denim. She has a favorite denim jacket, too, kinda bomber jacket style, totally swallows her up, that sort of vibe. High collars, chokers, etc would still be part of her look. I see her as certainly liking style but keeping it more practical these days to make things easy. Like an effortless look. She still paints her nails fun colors. I figured I'd pull up some Mush pics to honor the originator of the reverse au design that started it all lol. These I think Powder would wear:

jacket would be kinda like this, though I'd do a lighter wash of denim:
Tumblr media
no problem! So as far as the supporting cast is concerned, Sky is Jayce and Viktor's lab assistant. Megan's an OC, but they'd look similar (I needed someone to work at the hospital for chapter 3 and then I liked her and just kept her around lol). Gianna is based on the Firelight who kicks Caitlyn in episode 6 lol and is working on the mural in episode 7, though we never see her face. Ajuna is part of Ekko's lore from League, a friend who dies and he's unable to save. He's connected to the predecessor to the Firelight mural from the show. i just kinda threw him in there for fun because "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised" did the same. I think that's it for actual characters. The rest are OCs. I really ought to gather some visual references for them. Marnie is around Mel's skintone, for example...
UGH favorite scene this is so hard lol. I still really like all of chapter 2. I just can't help it. But since I've talked about liking it before, let me get out of my comfort zone. I think it's a little too hard to pick one, so I'll give a handful: the last section of chapter 3, all of chapter 7, really, the deal scene in chapter 10, the hospital in chapter 16, the balcony in chapter 18, the room key scene in chapter 19, and Caitlyn's conspiracy board in chapter 22 are all ones I'm pretty proud of or just enjoy reading because I think they're funny lol. I'm also proud of chapter 20 in general because plot twist!
I pre-write a lot of things, but as far as a scene I haven't written yet, I'm really excited to finish some stuff for Ekko's collection and there are some fun scenes of Powder really coming into her own. In particular, there's one that'll be quite a ways off where Powder sits down with Vi and they hash out a lot of the things between them, acknowledging the need to give each other space to live their lives as they've chosen to live them.
ahhhhhhh these idiots are gonna have so much fluff! What I will say is they should be dating within the next ten chapters (lest the story get away from me which is possible but I think by then they should be together lol). Before then, though, they're going to do some graffiti, fall into a fountain, and get all sappy in Ekko's car. And then after they get together they cuddle a lot and have a bunch of sex lmao. In a way, the physical relationship relates to the broader story in that Ekko helps Powder work on her confidence and articulating what she wants, which is similar to her journey of growing as a leader, a journey he also kicks off (though he kicked that one off by accident lol).
I think as the story keeps going it'll just get more taxing for me in general, if that makes sense. I'm always worried about coming off as preachy or heavy-handed. I'm probably overthinking things a lot. But I'd say that some of the setbacks the characters are going to face in pursuing their goals are going to be taxing in that emotional way. So far I think some of the stuff at the beginning was hard, and chapter 17 with Powder thinking about her hair was also hard, but it's kind of cathartic. The most I struggle with is how do I write a liberation story that works, because there's not a lot in the world for me to draw on in the way that I want due to international sabotage, etc. So I'm kinda taking these movements and trying to learn from their mistakes without feeling like I've got a perfect solution, because that's certainly not true, but I want to be hopeful. That balance of hope, a gesture at realism, tone and balance, trying to learn from the past, all of that can get a bit difficult for me.
okay, I think that covers it! These were so good for getting me to really think. It got a bit rambly at the end. I need to give that last one some more thought, so I might revisit it later. Thanks so much! 😄💙

Were you wrong to consider Max a scary person? Scary might not be the right word for it, but she had a skill at making your heart beat fast with a single look. Maybe you’re confusing your emotions but you’ll leave that for later to be sorted out. She was bold and brave, a bit headstrong and you couldn’t help but be pulled in.
Although it was a double edged sword, a subtle anxiety building up in your chest like the fizz of a soda can whenever you found yourself around her. She was everything you loved and it made her scary, unattainable in your mind. Like if you weren’t careful she would slip through your fingers like sand.
You awkwardly stuffed your feelings into a bottle in your chest, not sure how opening up about them would go with Max. You liked her, really liked her but weren’t sure what to do with these feelings.
The rock catching under your skateboard rips you from your thoughts, momentum throws you forward and you barely manage to catch yourself from sprawling out on the rocky concrete. The soft rolling sound of wheels on the gravel fades to a stop, replaced with the familiar jingle of a keychain and shoes scraping the ground as she rushes over.
“Nice one dork, how’s the pavement taste?” She laughs and although your hands sting from the little rocks embedded in soft flesh, her laughter soothes the pain like a warm compress. Max still stoops down beside you, brushing off your knees and helping you right yourself, whispering how you’re fine like how a mother consoles a fallen toddler.
“How much longer?” You moan, stepping back onto the board and pushing off to resume the seemingly never ending journey. Max had told you she had a spot in mind for you both to visit but it seemed like she was disguising a pointless ride around the neighborhood.
Max follows, long red hair waving in the wind and she glances over her shoulder, pretty face morphed with a wide grin tugging at her features.
It’s not like you’d mind as long as it's with her.
“We’re almost there so stop complaining, gonna quit on me or something?” The jovial laugh is back as she throws her arms out. Your heart hammers in your chest, there was something so free about her in the moment, joyful and uncaring, just existing and letting her skateboard move her like a sail in the wind.
Your foot hits the ground hard as you chase after her, your own grin spreading across your face.
The spot was no lie, a tiring ride and even more tiring hike up a hill later, you were gazing out over the entirety of Hawkins. The houses of Hawkin looked like you could reach out and hold them in your hand, spanning far towards the hazy horizon that swallowed the town up in a mixture of pinks, oranges and yellows.
You both muched wordlessly on uncooked smores, the chocolate stiff and marshmallows chewy in your mouths. Max had pocketed a lighter but severely overestimated both of your abilities to make a fire.
“Weren’t you a boy scout? I thought every boy's mother signed them up for something like that.” She says quietly, her soft blue eyes still staring out at the horizon and reflecting the blazing yellow sun in her irises. Her skin was bathed in a warm orange glow, making her hair that was sprawled in your lap look like a wildfire.
You carded your fingers through the long fiery locks, careful not to catch on anything. “Nope, and even if I did that would’ve been years ago. Don’t think I’d remember it.” Max makes a noise in her throat like she’s choking down a comment and you roll your eyes. “Don’t be mean, what do you remember from when you were ten?” You ask defensively.
Max has melted into your lap, eyes fluttering closed from the soothing feeling of you combing out her hair. She makes a dismissive noise, waving her hand tiredly. “You’re right, too foggy.” She mumbles and lets her hand fall back down onto her stomach, body relaxing and trapping your legs underneath her.
You don’t mind, even with the sun setting in front of you, you can’t tear your eyes away from her in your lap. Pretty pink lips pursed together and a look of peace on her face. You’d grown used to her scowl or knitted brows, so seeing her so vulnerable and soft felt almost odd. You traced a gentle finger down the curve of her jaw, as if you were tracing out a permanent image of her in your mind.
Max’s breathing evens out once Hawkins is plunged into darkness, crickets starting up their nightly symphony and the lightning bugs decorating the grass around you both. The milky white light of the moon was just enough to see Max’s face, all her gentle features and ethereal beauty.
“I’m so in love with you.” It barely leaves your mouth, tumbling out in the quietest voice you could ever manage. For a moment your heart stills when you notice you actually said it. But Max’s eyes are closed tight and unmoving.
She shuffles a bit, flipping over lazily and her hand lands atop yours like it was pulled there magnetically. “Been waiting for you to say it.” She mutters back, lip curling up ever so slightly, almost lost to the darkness of the night.
Everything goes quiet, even the crickets seem to be singing at barely even a whisper, the blood rushing in your ears and the endless drum of your heart drowning everything out. You want to disappear into the dark to never be found again but at the same time you want to scream in rejoice, dance under the moonlit sky.  “You…you like me?”
Max reaches up wordlessly, feeling blindly for your face till her hands cup both sides of your cheeks then she pulls you down. Her lips are soft against yours and all noise fizzles out, the emotions in your chest pouring out like the tab on the can had finally been cracked open, flooding you with a sticky sweet joy. You kiss back, dipping down and pressing your lips firm against her own.
She pulls back eventually, grinning. “Dork.”

Dancing with the Stars Season 32 Week 2: I Have a Confession
So last night was week 2. And I was thinking of structuring this like last week, but only 1 and a half couples truly had me feeling energized about the night. So I guess we'll go back to the regular format. Because Jamie Lynn was eliminated, I'll just talk about her up here. After watching her dance, I wasn't shocked. With all the controversy that was following her, we needed to have at least one big week from her. We didn't get that at all. And outside of that one moment up in the skybox with Julianne when she redid that move from her cha cha, we didn't get much fun out of her either. So what happens when you have a controversial celeb (that people truly don't like) that has potential that is not even being scratched, who is kinda just there and not giving much in any department? You get a somewhat shocking (but not really when you think about it) elimination. If they wanted to stay, they had to do something to get our minds off of the Britney Jean sized elephant in the room. They didn't do that and I think I'm more shocked that they didn't vs the fact that she was eliminated. That being said, she went out on a positive note (for the most part). So hopefully she can internalize that.
The show itself was a snoozefest. Alfonso and Julianne have kinda been blah so far. The technique and performance quality of the vast majority of the stars was not good enough to have Latin night this early. I just feel like theme weeks should start week 4 at the absolute earliest. Week 5 is what I believe is ideal. Let everyone's skills get better so that we're not watching 4 couples stumble through a samba in week 2, all to fulfill a theme. And the dances that the pros have been giving to the celebs have been pretty ho hum across the board. So now let me start the recap.
Lele and Brandon- Samba (Score=21)- Lele did pretty well with this dance. This was the half a dance I was talking about and upon watching it back, I'm actually gonna up that to being fully impressed and I think this dance was underscored. It should've gotten at least one 8. I think Lele had an understanding of the technique and rhythm of the dance that none of the other samba doers truly understood. And her feet were pointed this time! Than you Brandon. I just want her to do some more refining things and she'll be set.
Tyson and Jenna- Salsa (Score=18)- What an improvement a week makes! Tyson was a completely different dancer out there. I just knew he wasn't a no hoper. We just needed him to get more comfortable out on the floor. What I want him to work on now is 1) getting the technique cleaner and 2) work on getting lighter on his feet. But he is definitely on the right path.
Barry and Peta- Cha-cha (Score=15)- Barry struggled a little bit more this week than he did last. But the foundation is there for him to give good Latin dances. He does have some rhythm and his technique is mostly nice. Those New Yorkers were really really nice. Now, we gotta get him to fix his pancake hands, work on the technique a bit more and loosen up them hips. But I really think these two could play spoiler to many couples this year if he keeps improving. And honestly, he might be a true dance contender.
Adrian and Britt- Samba (Score=15)- Mm. Okay so this was a challenge. So let me start with the good. His face was much better this time around. I also saw that he worked on cleaning up his footwork. Now, he struggled with the dance itself, he still needs to be lighter on his feet, the technique still needs work and he needs to do a better job of partnering Britt. Right now it's not working the way that it should. But if they stick around, I can see that getting better and him becoming a decent dancer.
Mira and Gleb- Salsa (Score=18)- Hmm. Okay. Mira has really nice technique. She has everything to be amazing. But she's currently petrified of the dances and she dances too light. I need Gleb to get her to realize that she's good. I also want him to tell her to dance through the floor and not just on top of it.
Xochitl and Val- Salsa (Score=24)- So I thought this was a good dance. It was missing something though and I can't really place my finger on what it was. Actually, I know what it was. It was too much and too fast. It's a critique I have of Val at least once a season. He jam packs so much into a dance that sometimes, his partners can't breathe. Xochitl did well enough, but I also felt like it might've been a little much and sometimes she got a tad behind. Also her arm in that last lift was not great. Very good dance though.
Ariana and Pasha- Samba (Score=20)- Ariana did alright for the most part part. There were several questionable moments where she either looked off balance or lost a bit of control. I'm gonna say it's her nerves right now because it's not bad. She's still a fantastic dancer and I'm also still worried about her fanbase. But she might benefit from the same things that Melissa Rycroft did in her first season. Only time will tell.
Mauricio and Emma- Salsa (Score=12)- Mauricio actually started out doing pretty well. The problems that most of the other men dealt with this week, he did not deal with it. That was up until he forgot everything. And then the routine crashed. I'm actually shocked that Mauricio didn't get eliminated this week. But I guess people really pulled through for them. I still don't think Mauricio will last long, but hopefully he can come back strong next week.
Alyson and Sasha- Tango (Score=19)- Alyson also had a major improvement this week. I have to admit, I didn't think we could get this level of dancing out of Alyson. But we got it and it was a legitimately good dance. Now, I want her to dance with more intention. She placed everything pretty well, but it wasn't as strong as it could've been. I also want her to relax a little bit more throughout the dances. But we're moving in the right direction.
Charity and Ezra- Cha-cha (Score=21)- As we know, Artem had COVID and had to sit out this week. So we got Ezra as a fill in and I'm glad we got to see Ezra in this capacity. I would not mind seeing him as a pro next season. Ezra is also gay and we're lacking that representation with Louis gone (even though Louis is a bitter and hateful ass bitch and I don't get that energy from Ezra at all) and I don't think we've ever had that on the women's side of things (please correct me if I'm wrong). Now onto Charity. It was cool. Technically, it was a great dance. But I feel like she was timid and stiff. I'll chalk up a lot of that to having a new partner and just being nervous in general. She'll be better as the show goes on, but this just wasn't her best.
Harry and Rylee- Salsa (Score=15)- Harry moves very small and is still terrified of these dances. I think he handled this one better and I saw some improvement. He stayed on time more. But it's still not great. I don't think he can get to a great or even a good level. But he is improving and he can shock us. I mean Alyson definitely shocked me this week.
Jason and Daniella- Rumba (Score=24)- This was the best dance of the night. I think Jason might be the one to beat. I have to see a ballroom dance from him but I do not have any reason to believe that he will really struggle with those based on what he's shown and the past work of Daniella. I did see the misstep that CAI was talking about, but wow, what a dance. I was incredibly impressed.
So that's what I thought about the show. Let me know your thoughts and I will talk to you all soon.

"And that's- that's really the problem, right??" Six Ear stumbles through his words, possibly still unused to being so earnestly honest. Shā Dàlì taught him to talk, though, so he swallows his fumbling in favor of continuing.
"I'm falling in love with you!" He laughs as if he just told the most awkward joke in the history of jokes. "ME! At least I think so-." He points to himself, expression beyond distraught.
"I can't even tell if it's genuine-" he takes a deep shaky breath, "-or if... if I'm lusting after normalcy I've never had so badly that I'm trying to use you as a ticket to it."
For all that terrifying truth he only gets a long stare from Táng as a reward.
It's not that Táng is trying to be heartless about this, no no. The idea of doing that to a man who's been working on himself tirelessly for over a year is needlessly cruel. Not to mention- the man in question became his friend along the way.
Just... he would've never guessed it would end up like this.
Everybody else is sitting a bit away. Just far enough so they wouldn't hear their conversation, chatting at the fire of a grill and few lamps. Shā Dàlì had invited them all over to his beautiful boat-home for the night. Just to bond, to maybe sing songs badly while he strums along on his old bass so they can laugh about it. It was all nice and lighthearted until Six Ear gently tugged on his sleeve, slightly frowning, and asked him for a moment for just the two of them.
And after that confession, Táng himself isn't so sure what he thinks or feels about the black furred monkey monster sitting next to him as they overlook the calm sea. He can hear Six Ear's claws scraping against the railing lightly because of the nerves, but he doesn't feel rushed or threatened to answer as fast as possible.
And that's something, right? With Six Ear of all people?
Because with Six Ear of all people, everybody should be feeling threatened all the time. Or at least speaking in past tense, nowadays. Táng still remembers how much of a struggle it was to travel with him on board during their quest to stop the White Bone Spirit, of course. There were evenings when he thought he wouldn't be waking up the next day, with how violent the shadow monkey could get. Six Ear scared Táng and actively scarred Xiǎotiān- that always made his blood boil, to see Xiǎotiān shaking so so badly after a particularly bad encounter.
Táng remembers all the hurt. After all, he was usually the one who had to patch all the wounds up (along with chef Zhū and lǎo Shā, of course).
And still he's... there are still moments when Six Ear's old approaches poke through. Naturally. Those moments are always scary. Past is never not scary. But the thing is...
He shifts where he's sitting, getting more comfortable. He can see from the corner of his eye Six Ear glancing at him, looking suspiciously like an expectant puppy before straightening himself up and looking aggressively forwards at the ocean with an expression one would shoot a friend who's been "borrowing" DVDs for two years too long.
Táng snorts, the other's ears perk up at the sound and somehow the expression becomes even more intense.
That's really as good an example as any, isn't it?
The macaque has become sillier over the time. More easy to deal with, lighter in nature which is kind of ironic to say for the shadow. A year or so ago, during the Mid Autumn festival, Táng offered his friendship to the guy and ever since then it started spinning. Six Ear would be either specially cautious around him, probably afraid that a mistake could break the wobbly friendship bond they had going on, or he would be daringly brash about things, probably unused or disbelieving any of this could possibly last.
Táng started offering him some of his books and at first the monkey had been rather destructive towards those- bending the corners of the pages and sometimes he even went as far as to tear at the paper. The scholar's guess was this was supposed to be some kind of test of his patience, their "friendship" or some sort of self-sabotage. Characteristically, Táng one day simply offered to go and buy a stress toy for the other. He was confused, but allowed Táng to pull him along into the proper shop for that.
They ended up having to buy another one and then hex it so it wouldn't break, what with Six Ear's almost-equal-to-Sūn-Wùkōng's strength, but at the end of it all the toy did its job. And Six Ear seemed genuinely touched and listened when Táng suggested he should maybe pitch the destructive tendencies to Shā Dàlì.
So he listened. With all those ears, one would think it would come easier to him and yet..
From then on they've seemed to start growing somewhat closer. Now knowing the macaque monster wouldn't tear at his books, Táng resumed offering his favorite ones- recommending the ones he hadn't owned personally. It turned out that Six Ear himself was kind of a nerd. And that's what they bonded over mostly.
Thanks to their curiosity, they've reached for the same book and knocked their heads while doing it, talked about different cultures, gone to libraries- one day, Six Ear shapeshifted into human and came to the library Táng works at entirely just to ramble about the book that Táng had beamed to him about a two days ago.
'You already read it all???' Táng remembers asking.
To which, the yāoguài added slightly embarrassed: 'I... ...I got a little bit hooked, I'm not gonna lie.'
'That thing has over 800 pages!! Did you sleep at all???'
'...no. Now let me talk about the plot for an hour or so-'
Their friendship has gotten far enough that Six Ear has unfolded to the scholar in a manner that is almost scary for someone like him.
They've sat a few times deep into the night flipping through Six Ear's own books- things written over the centuries, diaries so he wouldn't forget he said, recipe books, poems, notebooks where he had written down everything he saw through his travels; all he'd translate just for Táng. That is a vulnerability that scares Táng, because he's fairly sure if he'd fuck up this whole friendship thing at this point, the monkey might retract into himself to the point he would never come out again.
And Táng is too compassionate and caring to be alright with that.
Slowly, he looks to Six Ear in present time.
Love... romantic one, at that, hmm.. He will admit he thought about the yāoguài in somewhat similar a vein like that- physically, Six Ear is very appealing- quite the eye candy. But Love love..? Not even Six Ear is apparently entirely sure of it. That alternative to the love kind of scares Táng, to be honest.
When it comes to his marriage to Zhū- he would absolutely need to have a talk with the chef about this, because despite their agreement to have their relationship largely open, what Six Ear might or might not be desiring is a level of commitment that might be out of the comfort zone. For either of them, really- Táng is definitely not going to be comfortable with it if chef Zhū won't be.
"Okay, listen." Táng stands up to be closer to the other, wrapping an arm around him, settling a hand on his shoulder. The macaque melts into the touch. "There's..." his free hand gestures vaguely as he searches for the right words. "There's a lot of... Stuff... in this that we should figure out first before- y'know, settling for something too solid."
Six Ear moves his head just enough so he can get a look at Táng. He doesn't say anything, waiting for the other one to continue.
"I definitely have to ask lǎo Zhū what he thinks about this first."
"Yes- yes, of course, that's-"
"Hey shush." Táng lifts one finger to silence the monster. "I'm going to ask him and you are going to figure out what your actual feelings about this are. I don't want to be just some 'ticket'."
He takes a deep breath, nodding to those conditions. "Then we will see?"
"Then we will see." Táng nods, taking a chance with flashing a little careful smile. "I'd be down to try it out. You've been working hard this past year on things and like..." Táng pulls Six Ear closer, squishing him a little bit against his own body as he fixes his glasses. The monster allows it without a second thought, only shifting his grip on the railing with his tail to adjust to the human's actions. "I can and do appreciate that. I enjoy your company."
At that Six Ear pointedly looks away, but Táng still can see a little trace of a blush on an ear. It prompts a little giggle from the scholar that only adds fuel to the flush.
"And if it won't work out, I'll still love to be your friend. I don't really wanna give that up- not even a bitsy."

Hi fashion flower! Sending good and cozy vibes over to you :] Was thinking about your swiftli idol au that you posted about recently and wanted to ask if you had any specific fashion or color palettes in mind for the teen's idol group Really fun au concept <3 and was just curious if you had anything in mind for that part :D
Hi, Lessie!!! Hope you're doing well, lovebird <3 First off, thank you so much for the interest - I'm really glad you enjoy it so far 🥰🥰🥰 And secondly, apologies for taking a bit on this one but I ended up throwing together a very rough Pinterest board for this au (very Normalcore of me ik ik). I absolutely have some colors and fashion things in mind for them!
What gives me the most trouble with this au is that the teens each have such a distinctive style to me that it's a bit difficult to form something cohesive for them as a group. I definitely think Taylor and Scary lean a bit more vampiric in terms of costuming - frills and leather for both of them, and the fact that I tend to lean towards darker color palettes for both of them (Scary ventures more into pop-punk territory with her outfits, while Taylor goes for an almost futuristic sort of vibe in some cases). Link and Normal's outfits lean more sporty or casual, and I tend to think of them in lighter colors (mainly neutrals and oranges and yellows for Link; Normal gets lots of blues and pinks). I also gave Normal a few different fun suit options, since he canonically gets into menswear in his early to mid-twenties (which is around the time this au would take place), and I gave Link a few cute crop tops bc I simply think he'd look good in them :D
As for what concepts and outfits they wear when performing as a group,,, i haven't quite fleshed that bit out yet! 😅 I do think that some of the outfits in their different sections have the potential to work together, but definitely not all aksbfkabfshvfs.
Again, thanks so much for the ask!!! 💗💗💗 Hope you enjoy hehe

Chapter 39 and Chapter 41
A03:
Morning dew clung to the wooden beams of the stables as Wind walked Abigail from her board and Elenor talked to Marcus about directions. Daffy’s cooking wafted from behind the stable, enticing people just stirring to rise faster. The sun was out, but not visible yet behind the looming mountain behind the stable. Stars twinkled as Wind comforted Abigail, who didn’t seem too keen on such an early morning. Kit was more awake, but Wind knew his nap time was approaching soon. He’d be out by the time the sun was reflecting off the grass. Elenor didn’t mind holding him but Wind would suggest letting Kit try sleeping on Abigail’s back. Wind wasn’t keen on having to throw him if something required the use of both hands suddenly.
Wind fiddled with Abigail’s new saddle as Elenor wrapped up her conversation with Marcus, grabbing her pack, scooping up Kit and giving Abigail a ‘morning’ before smiling warmly at Wind. “Marcus says we have a good trek ahead of us if we wanna reach Hateno soon. The path doesn’t cross into Hyrule Field, which is where the major number of Guardians have settled. We’ll still need to keep an eye out for them though. It’s not like there’s anyone tracking their movements right now.”
Wind nodded. Already it was lighter out, Wind could make out the path, the stars blinking out one by one in the sky, giving way to the might of the sun rising behind them. Dragonflies skittered in the air as they walked the path further south. Wind held a loose grip on Abigail's reigns as Elenor helped Kit settle in her arms for a well deserved sleep.
“Do you think he should sleep on Abigail? It may be easier for you.” Wind mentioned as they made their way down the path. Deer began retreating into the receding treeline as the sun steadily rose. Elenor soothed  Kit calmly, looking from Abigail to Kit deciding.
“It would be, but Kit doesn’t like sleeping unless I'm there with him.” She laughed as Kit burrowed deeper into her arms to escape the light, “He’s very clingy.” Wind could hear the tell-tale rumbles of Kit’s purring emanating from Elenor’s arms. Well, now it would be rude to move him.
Instead of walking in silence as they normally would, Wind continued, “What if we run into a Guardian, or those Yiga?”
Elenor paused her doting on Kit, much to Kit’s distress, “What do you mean?”
Wind gestured, trying to form his thoughts into coherent sentences, “I mean, do we have a plan in case we run into them? You said that we’ve got a bit of a trek.” Wind sighed, wringing his hands, “I just want to be prepared is all.”
Elenor hummed and went silent. Wind watched her as she slowly resumed stroking Kit into a happy sleep. “I don’t think that is something we can plan for Wind. At least, not in every last detail.” Wind made a distressed noise as Elenor continued, “We can prepare, however. I can work on my strength with my ax, and I know you’ve been wanting to put some time into your bow. Taking the time and being mindful of our surroundings is really all we can do, Wind.” Elenor noticed Wind’s expression and quickly added, “I’m sure we’ll be safe as long as we stick to the path and our instincts! I can rush anyone for sure and with your sword you can run in and jab them it’ll be great, well i mean not that great, you’ll have to stab someone and-”
Wind laughed as she scrambled to recover from her bout of nervousness. Even Abigail huffed in amusement, bobbing her head. Wind took a deep breath and surveyed their surroundings. The sun had finally climbed high enough to be seen over the retreating mountain. The grass shone as tall cranes walked the landscape alongside foxes and songbirds. A river gaggled to their left as the path approached it. Everything felt…normal. There was no danger nearby as far as WInd could tell. He forcibly relaxed his shoulders, feeling his jaw unclench in response.
“You know we'll be okay right? I won’t let anything happen to you I promise.” Wind looked back at her, she was visibly upset, cradling Kit close.
Wind scratched the back of his head, “I know. I’m sorry for worrying.”
“Hey, it’s alright. It’s okay to want to be prepared and ready for a fight. Just don’t let it consume you okay? You’ve got so much life to live, and you did have a point. We should spend time trying to improve our skills just in case. How else are you gonna impress your brothers with your amazing skills and strength huh?” Elenor clapped him on the back, jostling Kit and nearly launching Wind into the path. Before he could eat dirt, Abigail raised her head in protest of him pulling on the reins, saving him from his dusty demise. However, Wind failed to regain his footing, flailing backwards into Elenor, squishing Kit between them. Wind was pretty sure he hit her face as he fell into her causing Wind to lose his grip on the reins and tumble backwards into the grass.
Kit scrambled between them to free himself. Wind sat up as Kit shot from Elenor’s arms and settled next to Abigail, ears back. Wind let out a half-hearted “Sorry Kit.” He grumbled and turned away from him unamused.
“Oh don’t be like that Kit, we’re sorry.” Elenor joined in breathlessly.
Wind looked back, concerned, “You alright?” She raised her hand with a thumbs up.
“Just peachy.” Looking around, Wind noticed a small batch of trees just off the road. It was shaded, the leaves rustling in the early afternoon.
“We could take a small break? In those trees?” Wind offered. In the end it wasn’t Elenor who made the decision, rather Abigail and Kit must have decided they had had enough of their clumsy comrades and turned to sit under the trees and take a nap. Kit snuggled up next to Abigail as she sat comfortably in the tall grasses. “Well, that answers that question.”
Wind watched as Elenor stood and began walking towards them and asked her, “We still have those dried meats right? I can look around, but it looks like there are some fruits and veggies we can eat around here.”
Elenor stretched, wincing at the cracks her spine made, “That sounds like a good idea, it's about lunchtime anyway. Neither of us had breakfast. We’ll have to apologize to Daffy next time we see him.”
“True,” Wind finally stood back up. War’s spaulder had bit into his shoulder when he fell, so he spent some time fiddling with the straps. Elenor was busy with wood and trying to placate a ruffled Kit while dodging a protective Abigail. She looked younger in her knee-length tunic and travel pants. He looked down at his own attire. Wind still wore his battered blue and white lobster shirt. But underneath was a new, lighter undershirt, still tan but with far less dirt and holes. Its soft fabric was something he didn’t know he’d been missing. His new walking shoes had been broken into already, his feet settled into preferred positions. They didn’t look too bad either, rather fashionable if he did say so himself. Not like grandma's, but still, not too shabby. They looked like a smaller version of Wild’s own. He hoped they lasted as long as Wild’s had.
Wind entered the small grove, giving Abigail and Kit their space, and meandered around picking up stray truffles and heart-shaped root veggies he was sure he’d seen Wild make stuff with before. A small pond sat nearby in the sun. Bugs flittered to and fro among the grasses. Fishes sometimes popped to the surface to snatch away flies that got too close or lingered too long. All in all, it wasn’t a bad way to spend their afternoon.
Smoke entered his senses. Gathering his haul, Wind returned to Elenor’s side to assist with their meal with his recently acquired knife. Chopping vegetables was calming to him, and gave him a chance to relax before practicing with his bow. He only had ten arrows, the stable hadn’t had any he could use, so ten would have to do until he could find some. Where, he wasn’t sure, but he’d definitely need more than ten if he was going to make it all the way to Hateno. He wasn’t a bow prodigy like Wild, that much he knew.
Which led to finding a large, gnarled tree in their little grove. The string snapped into place and Wind felt an old, subtle magic hum as the spell placed on it activated. The worn wood was well loved and comfortable in his hands. He kept it in his hand as he placed simple x’s at various heights on the tree to act as bullseyes for him to shoot at. One was near his knees, his eye level, and above his head. It wasn’t much but it’d have to do for the short time they’d be here. The first few arrows were off by several inches, but he found that as he kept firing, muscle memory took over and he found himself hitting at or near the x’s with nearly every shot. The repeated motion and thunk, thunk, thunk of arrows embedding into the tree soon became the backdrop for WInd’s own thoughts as they trailed off.
Wind found himself returning to his worries from the morning. What if they got ambushed again by a monster, or hylia forbid the Yiga. Wild’s stories of their vicious nature hissed like poison in his mind. He knew that he’d rather die than join those lily-livered cowards. Elenor was much the same. She hadn’t said, but he knew her morals wouldn’t budge, even if it meant her own demise.
But what did he have to protect them? He had his sword. Wind improved his form and speed since training with Time. A dream he’d never think he’d get to see through. He felt stronger, despite the lingering weakness in his injured shoulder that now burned from the work he was putting it through. Having a bow allowed him to fight at a distance, important since Wild wasn’t here and Elenor was definitely more like Twi in her fighting style. Wind would have to be faster and more agile to be effective in battle. Elenor was strong, but she couldn’t dodge like Wind could. He had to be there to take the hits she couldn’t, at least shoot them or stab them out of the way before they could land a hit.
Wind heard a clunk as he set loose another arrow. Somehow, his crystal had found its way out from under his lobster shirt. It swayed in the breeze, occasionally hitting War’s spaulder as he moved through the motions of firing his arrows. His thoughts turned to fighting that lynel. Magic or not, it was an asset. Wind thought of the knight leading them through the Lost Forest. He didn’t understand it completely and probably never would.
He paused, looking at the stone sparkle in the afternoon light. It rested in his hand, “I don’t know who you were, but you’ve helped me twice now.” Wind shifted, he was talking to a necklace, “So, thank you for that, but…I don’t know if I’ll be able to get through this without your help. I’m not strong enough on my own. Not here. If...if I need you, will you be there?” Wind watched the stone remain dark in his hand for a moment, only to put it away with a sigh.
Out of sight, it shone brightly in response.

New Habits.
A quick trip to the market saw us gather ingredients for the first meal we would cook together in our new home. ...I had settled on the idea of a vegetable curry. Easy to cook, filling, and good for leftovers. It would be so nice, to cook together...
The door to the house is opened with an almost gentle, tender nudge, as Eir slips the beloved key into his pocket, and shoulders his way in with an armful of groceries. Even then, he stops for a moment to beam at the surroundings, before settling the paper bag on the counter. "…I still cannot believe it is ours. It is perfect, Sayuri. Did you choose the decorations?"
The door is pushed shut once Sayuri too had passed the threshold, steps following him to remain near. "I did." She beams. "..I did ask Bexy for a bit of help to set things up as well, I.. can't say I'm overly experienced in decorating. Most rooms I've had have been done before I moved into them, aside from the room I had before I moved into yours."
"I cannot say i have so much skill in it either. Our room at the company house was simply asked to be… Thavnairian style. But here… It is like a lovely blend of all things we love." Eir begins to sort the groceries; vegetables are set aside in a pile, and a hefty bag of rice pulled from the bottom of the paper bag. "There are hints of Thavnair and the East. And it is here, in Eorzea, where we both met." Looking to her, he smiles warmly over his shoulder. "…I look forward to making many memories here, with you."
"I'm glad you like it." Sayuri shuffles closer to Eir, leaning herself over to coil her arms around his waist to hold onto him, without keeping him from his task. She peers up at him, beaming a warm smile of her own his way in return. "As do I. And I'm glad the very first one is your Namesday."
Turning his head, he settles a kiss to her forehead, furnished with a warm smile. "My Namesday." Eir hums, enjoyment in his tone. "…I wager something lighter would be better to cook together, and nothing too complicated. A vegetable curry? I can take care of the rice and seasonings. Everything else i leave in your capable hands, hm?"
A soft hum of approval leaves her, her head leaning forwards enough for her lips to press against his shoulder before she withdrew and stepped over to the cabinets, pulling forth various items needed for the cooking from the contents of its drawers. "And.. What is.. everything else?"
"Peeling, chopping, dicing. Cooking everything that is not rice." Eir encourages. Popotoes, peppers and onions are set aside on the counter, taking one of the pots to set on the stove. "Vegetables are easy enough to cook. Even overcooked, they are delicious."
Her head sinks into a double nod, carefully plucking a knife and the chopping board to place them a little further away. "Well.. Should be hard even for me to mess up, then." She snickers.
"You will not mess up." Eir murmurs encouragingly, gently rolling the vegetables in her direction and settling a kiss atop her head. "You made a lovely home. Making a base for a curry should be a breeze, hm?" Eir pours a heap of rice into another pan, adding water as he begins to wash it.
Sayuri's ears wiggle at the kiss, head canting ever so slightly. "You'd think so, but I will also remind you that I've mostly had others make my food for me. I did it a few times, but those were far in between each other." While she speaks, she reaches for the peppers - placing them upon the cutting board before, surprisingly carefully, she sinks the knife into it.
"But you are just as willing to learn. Willingness is half the battle, and you are a fast learner besides. Just chop everything into small pieces and put into the pan, and the heat and spices will do the rest of the work." Rice washed, a measure of water is added before it's set on the stove to simmer. "And you are not so inexperienced i need to tell you how to peel a popoto, or to take off the skins of onions or de-seed peppers, hm?"
".. So I've been told. More than once." Sayuri flashes a small smile. ".. No, I should have that covered.." She pauses, chopping off the top of the pepper and spinning it to do the same to the bottom. ".. Should." She casts a glance Eir's way, only to smile before her attention returns to her task.
"You do." Eir has an almost singsong tone in his words, skipping over to the other side of the kitchen; delivering another kiss to the top of her head in transit, as he begins to pluck out various spices. "When you put your mind to something, it is rare you fail. I know that much."
Whoever said stubbornness was purely a negative trait? Sayuri is stubborn, but i am glad for all the things it has allowed her to overcome. Cookery lessons included.
Eyes lidding faintly from the affection given, she temporarily pauses the process of deseeding and chopping the vegetable in favour of looking at Eir more fully, head canting. "I'm just stubborn."
"You are." Eir grins, confirming. Various seasonings and spices are added in vague amounts to a bowl, adding a little more of this and that as he watched, only noticing after a moment she was looking over to him. "…That is not a bad thing. I am quite fond of your stubbornness."
She beams a smile his way, chuckling quietly. "Well, I'm glad. You're definitely among those who get to see it the most." She hums, resuming the chopping.
"Well, i am your husband. I wager i get to see much more of you than most." Eir remarks, walking back to the stove. Quickly he turns his head back to her. "--Your personality, i mean." He half trips over a foot before the bowl of seasonings make it back to the countertop, and Eir pulls out a small pan of his own. "…You know what i meant."
...I mean, i wager in all ways i see her more than most, but... ...She knew what i intended. I had only the most innocent of things in my thoughts, honest!
A brow is lofted in return, a soft laugh following it shortly afterwards. ".. In both ways, yes." She grins, briefly peering over her shoulder to Eir. Having finished chopping the peppers, she opts to pick a popoto next, carefully cutting in under the surface of it to begin the peeling process. "Literally, and personality wise."
Eir gives a small huff of humour. He busied himself with a small punnet of tomatoes, dicing them into messy chunks and settling them in a pan to simmer. "Well, i had not immediately meant it like that, but i will not argue. Both are lovely aspects besides."
"I sure hope you won't argue. It'd make me sad." Her tone takes a more childish front, lips pulling into the tiniest pout as she peers over to Eir. It is a front she doesn't hold for long, as she soon cracks a grin and laughs. "You're my husband. You have to find me lovely."
"I will not argue. I might bicker, though." Eir sticks his tongue out for only a moment, wandering back over the kitchen to wash his hands of the tomato juice. "I found you lovely long before i married you. We briefly touched on that earlier, hm?"
"Acceptable." Her grin increases at the sight, head tilting. "So we did. But you didn't know me that well when you did. Or my vast collection of blemishes."
"No, i did not. Your scars have never bothered me, hm? Not for you having them. A little upset for how some made their way there, but not for seeing them. Though i did not know you well at first, getting to know you has been nothing short of lovely." The rice simmers away, the tomatoes stirred as Eir tips in the mixture of spices. "How are the vegetables coming along?"
I do not mind her scars, something i have told her time and again, but i suppose it never hurts for her to hear it. I have never really minded any sort of blemish, only... I can see, now. After our time in the compound. Why she does.
"I think they have bothered me more than you." She gave a faint smile, shaking her head. The popoto long since peeled and met its cruel fate upon the chopping board, too - making Sayuri reach for the onion next. "Almost done." She hums, as she peels the skin off the onion before setting it down on the board to begin chopping it.
"One sun, perhaps they will not upset you so much." Eir slips behind her, settling a gentle arm around her waist as to not distract her too much, admiring her work. "It looks good, so far. I did not want to make anything too… Heavy."
".. Perhaps, although I have my doubts." She automatically leans back into him as his arm coils around her waist, indulging in his embrace without halting her task. "Something too heavy might've been a touch too daunting for me to try to increase the size of my meals, but.. This will be light enough to make some progress, I think." She smiles.
"…That you are willing to try means much to me." Eir pulls himself closer to her, lips at her shoulder. "Even if you do not manage to, i will still be happy, yes?" He smiles against her, giving a pleased little hum. "…It is nice, to cook together."
Sayuri's head flops to the side to gently nudge against his. "Honestly, if I manage to..? It.. will feel like a small victory." Her ears tilt back just a touch, yet a small smile remains on her lips. "It is." She hums.
Eir turns his head to kiss her cheek. "Even if not this sun, you will manage it. Another piece of yourself you reclaim from him, and i will be there to see every battle won." Eir doesn't move from her, reaching for a spoon to slowly stir the sauce.
Her ears wiggle at the kiss, her smile increasing in size. "I won't be able to reclaim everything he took from me, but anything that I can.. I will do my best to try." She finishes up her chopping, setting down the knife and turning her head to return a kiss of her own upon his own cheek. "And to have you with me every step of the way means a lot to me."
Eir smiles warmly, pressing his lips to her own after she moves from his cheek. "I have no doubt. My lovely, stubborn wife." He beams, picking up the chopping board of vegetables, to shuffle them into a pan to slowly simmer away. "…Now we just wait a little for things cook a little. Not too long."
A soft laugh leaves her, eyes lidding softly while she gazes at him. "It seems I get many words associated with myself." She chuckles.
"Mmh." Eir hums, edging her a little from the cooker to embrace her properly. "Is that what you would like to spend the intervening minutes doing? Listening to me call you all the things i think of you?" He presses a kiss to the edge of her jaw. "My Moon, my wife, my love. Lovely, stubborn and sweet all at once." He pulls back, just an ilm. "I could go on."
I could, and would had she let me. We spent the intervening moments like this, between the simmering of curry and rice. Bliss. Peace.
Eir examines them with the pressure of the spoon. "…About done. A few minutes in the sauce, and they will be tender enough." He reaches to take the pan of sauce, slowly stirring it into the vegetables. "Could you get the plates and utensils?" A pause, then. "I… Am not actually sure where the utensils are…"
Sayuri's head sinks into a double nod, allowing Eir to take over. She reaches up to the cabinet above, collecting two plates which are carefully placed down on the counter. A drawer is then pulled out of the cabinet below, a pair of utensils being fished out too before Sayuri bumps herself against the drawer to close it using her hip. ".. It'll take some time to get used to, but soon enough you will know it like the back of your hand." She beams.
"I am sure enough for that." Eir beams, stirring the vegetables through the sauce, before replacing the pot on the stove. The pot of rice is then picked up, the little excess water drained away, the rice fluffed with a spoon, which is once again offered to her. "…Perhaps it is better to fill your own plate. You know what you can handle, hm?"
".. Shouldn't be too hard." She half-mumbles, accepting the spoon. A plate is grabbed and rice is soon shovelled up onto it in her normal amount, which she mutely measures up in her mind.. and adds another spoonful of it before she moves on to the curry itself and similarly measures up her test amount - the spoon is then extended Eir's way.
Eir quickly fills his plate after her, taking equal parts rice and curry; enough to feed himself, and more than enough for leftovers. A kiss is planted on Sayuri's cheek, as he makes for the table to sit. "…To our first meal. On our first sun inside our home."
She had taken much more than normal. Usually, it is enough that we share from the same plate and utensils, for how little she tends to eat. I did not wish for her to overface herself, but to think she might achieve a full meal... I know how much it means to her. And in turn, how much it means to me.
Sayuri's ears wiggle in response to the kiss upon her cheek, a smile beaming his way before she moves to seat herself at the table with him. "And to you, and your Namesday." She smiles innocently.
"I suppose…" Eir murmurs, cracking a wry smirk as though he didn't enjoy the attention. Taking a forkful of curry, it's quick to move past his lips… And bring a pleased sigh from them. "…It is good. A lovely namesday meal, cooked by my wife."
"Cooked by both of us, don't give me all the credit." She snickers, scooping up some curry of her own to bring to her lips.
"Both of us, then. But it tastes nice because -you- made it." Another forkful, "…And also the spices. What do you think?"
Her ears wiggle, a soft, drawn-out hum of approval leaving her. "It's nice." She murmurs, scooping up another portion.
Eir hums in reply to her own, glancing around the room again. "…I can make breakfast for the both of us, and not even change out of my pyjamas. Lounge on the sofa at all hours. Not that i could not in the company house, but i wager i might raise an eyebrow or two. I can do much more, here…"
"We can do whatever we want here, without anyone looking." She beams. ".. Our only guests will have to be invited." She adds with half a grumble, before immediately smiling again.
Eir lofts a slow, singular brow between bites of his meal. To the point it runs away from his fork, and he has to scoop it up again to get it to his mouth. He offers no word to her comment, but his expression says just about everything. "Invited, and… Perhaps knock, for their own sake…"
".. Absolutely knock for their own sake." She huffs. ".. Both for their own sanity and safety."
Eir snickers a laugh between bites of his food, nodding. "…For their own sanity and safety." He agrees, head tilted. "Save for Bexy, does anyone else know where we live, now?"
"… No. Not yet. I'd tell Vex, but the chances of her finding her way here on her own is.." Sayuri's lips draw into a thin line. ".. Small."
"…I see…" Eir takes another few bites, mulling over. "…Well, suppose you could show her over, some time. I would like to cook for her, too. I wonder if she would like Thavnairian food…?" Eir drops a glance to Sayuri's plate. That she was eating anything at all brings a small smile to his lips.
I can think of a few others i would like to visit. Mahi'a and Vex. Bexy too. Sayuri's parents, of course. It will be nice to have guests, i think. I enjoy cooking for people. I wonder if... ...Hm.
"So far, I haven't heard about a single thing that girl dislikes." Sayuri smiles, shaking her head faintly. ".. In a way, I.. am glad that she turned out the opposite of me in terms of eating habits."
"Nothing? Nothing at all?" Eir lofts a brow, having devoured the majority of his meal. "…Suppose. There will be things she finds more difficult than you, i wager. Just as you have found difficulty in things that she has not. But you are working on it, all the same."
"Not that I have heard, but I can always ask her next time." She smiles, one ear tilting back. Even Sayuri's plate is beginning to look empty, the extra portion having been dug into aswell, good cat. ".. To be honest, Vex seems to be dealing with it all.. suspiciously well. Other than the time after she killed the Xaela, and she felt like she had no purpose, but that's the only thing I can personally recall."
"Suspiciously well describes that better than i would like it to sound…" Eir's brows knit in concern, scooping up the last grains of rice and vegetables, before settling his fork on the plate. "…She is still in good company, at least. If she feels the difficulty of the situation, she will have no shortage of hands to help her."
Sayuri nods lightly, scraping together the last bits of her rice and curry. "I just hope she speaks up if so. It's.. not always easy to admit." She scoops it up and stuffs it into her mouth, officially finishing a larger meal than her usual.
"She has friends. If she struggles… I can think of no one better to talk to her than you." Eir witnesses, as Sayuri takes the final forkful of her meal, and clears her plate. He stares, not saying anything more, abruptly leaving his chair to move to her side, arms wrapped around her.
Her lips curl into a soft smile at his comment, gaze settling upon him. Her head tilts curiously as he stands, following him as he moves up to her. His embrace is met with her own, as she drapes her arms around his waist. "Hello to you too." She smiles.
"You… You ate everything on your plate. Without me trying to persuade you, or reason with you. Just like that." He squeezes her a little tighter, head pushed against her own. "…I am… Proud of you. A battle won."
She pushes her head back against his, ears wiggling sharply. ".. So I did." She murmurs.
"You did…" Eir gives another squeeze, lingering for some long few moments, finally releasing her. The smile does not leave his face, slowly taking the plates from the table to the sink. "…Well, suppose a less fun part of having our own home is that we need clean it. But that we have dirty dishes at all is a blessing, that we have eaten from them."
Her smile remains as he withdraws, she stands as he wanders to the sink, following to remain at his side. ".. We're not messy, so it shouldn't be too hard to keep the house clean."
"It should not be. Though i do not enjoy doing dishes… There is some… Satisfaction, to keeping things clean and tidy. Looking after something dear to me. A little like you." He turns, to plant a kiss to her cheek.
A beautiful home, and a lovely wife. In this lovely moment of peace, having finished a meal we both cooked together... I could think of nothing more i could ever want... With her, i had everything i wanted, and more.

GASGAS GOES BIG WITH TWO FACTORY EDITION MOTOCROSS MODELS FOR 2023!
This is the motor I'd redesigned and it's lighter and more powerful and last longer and it moved them over to liquid cool shortly after most bikes were not they didn't do too well and that's why it's just a small system but it's jacketing and use the same block and you just change the top lock and now it's a combined liquid in the air as redundancy and they matched it but really they went out of business in 2017 it stopped building them fully and we have some of the factories we can move it out here it's quite a move and it's quite a thing you end up defending it like crazy when I understand you want to build ordinance out there and you have to do it or you just going to lose it and I suggest you start with this and work your way up and they agree this is a hefty bike even though they're just a 450 the frame is built to support people who weigh a lot cuz these guys get fat real quick and they could never carry their weight around so the frame is real strong and sturdy it makes a race much nicer I can lay the power down instead of it slipping out underneath you like my husband's bike does sometimes the ATK is overpowered and he knows it doesn't care cuz when you're bigger you need it these bikes are powered and a little bit overpowered but they're still grip. It's a wonderful new design it's a beautiful looking bike they're extremely fast very reliable and made in the United States and we're going to send samples we started producing them already well we have some from 2018 and it's practically what we're going to build and they're very nice they're fast and effective and efficient and I can't wait
Hera
What these guys are doing with these bikes I hear it's quite illegal and against Max and it's like the concept of recycling and using a recycled bike that really never I don't think it took off they say I'm wrong but I don't think they see any this would be a bit different story and a whole bunch of these lamos will go out there to try and stop you and it's really something that probably would keep them trickling in and the bikes are very sound and powerful and you change the firing color and you have what you want and they'll get you quite a distance they have big tanks she says it's a 3.5 gallon which is huge it goes about they're saying 250 miles if you're cruising and they like that that's pretty far if you're not cruising it's about 200 miles but these things are beefy but when you call a gas gas there's your reason why they needed that and it is a warlock bike but it's our design and mostly it's got Terry cheesman's name on it and that we hear that it was him and he decides bikes at work like the V-Rod and the gas gas does mean something it means you're giving it the gas but you're not giving it gas and you're burning up the wrong fuel so it's got red on it like the Japanese
Zues
That's their code and we want these bikes and we want to use them for military application we passed on the recycled bike because it was too big and too loud and the smaller one was not as powerful as we need but these have a lot of power and they're small so we're going to use them and he went back to the drawing board on the recycle bikes so we can use those for messaging they go really fast and the real light and I can hold a lot of fuel and just keep going and we're going to mix them together I'm going to recycle from here and he's got another great idea of putting a big recycling plant in to make these bikes the boats and recycled motorcycles and more and the small one is great and sippy it's like the DS 100 and it is just a dream cuz you need to zip around and the electrics are great too they work well inside very well so we're going to go ahead and sit down and meet about these and we want to start up when we can we have to wall it off now though and I have a whole bunch of wall contracts coming out
Mac
You see something we don't like but we do understand as much worse things going on you sort of get it too
Camilla and henry
We have to get this straight they say they're going to use it against us
Mac
Okay we're going to set the plants up okay who builds it but they have the equipment in the molds and the motor and they can make it better if we need it in different models like an adventure bike it's going on right now they were calling for them to build it I'm putting the order and we need security too and we need two layers of walls and all that stuff
Mike tew
I'm getting involved and I can't stand the guy who's with me he's a rebel he knows all sorts of stuff he says about the clan and he does and their rebels and back to a bunch of it so I'm calmed down I do see that these people are worthless now we're moving on this now and we're going to make these bike shops and we're going to sell them too and I know why
Justin
We like these bikes too and they have one that's big and it can move us it's an Enduro so interested in it being made here you also like the fact that he could ride around on them quite easily it's just kind of bike his kind of bike
Billium
We don't want him on ice and to get injured so we don't really want to ride the thing unless they have a smaller Enduro at the ds100 size it was a great zippy bike and going around town and stuff would be a dream it's real easy to get around he's really easy to get in and out of places and it's pretty pretty fast in agile and handles so I'm going to see if they can come up with that listen to take the 125 and turn it into an Enduro it's not real hard and she's going to work on it. So we have a deal attentive deal and they're going to send samples and lots of them
Mac
I got the code and I analyzed it and it took it apart and see it's origin and Aaron Mike was being pushy and she's been was designing them she's been was designing them anyways it's the cheese guy and he is the first clone and he's an a******.. it means gas gas and that says to gas them and use the gas and pull them out so we're going to head and taking them down for it and we use gas on them
Daniel
He didn't know about the knockout gas I guess he might find out the hard way
Trump
This is terrible we're talking about knockout gas and how he would pull Aaron out but really it's kind of too heavy it's a lot of stuff going on and we're researching this now might be a bit heavy I don't think so

Episode Five: "i will not relent!!! u will like me!!!" - Bethany
Tumblr media
Hairie
I am not happy with the tribal council but I am also not entirely mad. I’m sad to see Chelsea go. Someone flipped from ex Tromoya and I have a strong feeling it was Zach
-
I partially feel guilty for not choosing Chelsea for tribe swap. She was my alliance and now she’s gone.
Esteban
idk what to expect on this round. I am hearing that bethany is rallying the non-women again and staining my name that I did pushed aj and trinica that much on idol hint. Wth! I would never respect that move. But good for you. Now you are givigng me much time to think and a fire to probably play the game still til the end.
Raffy prob is neutral on which way he wanna go with either bethany’s story or i. Brandi profess that she wanna work with me and she thought jayjay would love too. Jayjay is so welcoming on me and said the same way that she wants me to stay on the game and she is skeptical about bethany and that it make sense she is saying she is like pulling all the ladies again in this new tribe and on her own words she said, “let vote bethany out the first time we will get a chance.”
Hairie, i am still in doubt of him. Idk where he is on this thought process but i told him my truth may it be wrong or not but i am not lying to what i felt is right. 😅
Tyler hopefully he is still on my side. He told me that bethany was caught on the act when she confirm that there is a non-men alliance when tyler was confronted her lying that jinx leaked that information.
On the lighter note: i look horribly crazy in my lip sync. And please let that video just stay here in this ORG. 🙈🙈🙈
-
Late confessionals (strike 1)
Sorry been very busy lately.
We’ve won the music video challenge. Kudos to tomoya 2.0 for giving all the effort and it is worth it.
The vibe went positive in the camp. People sharing thought about have kore advantages so we can win another round of challenge.
I am loving this tribe more than the old one. I hope we will not see the tribal earlier before merge happens.
So far i feel like jayjay and brandi had my back and tyler too. Hoping hairie too. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
That tie vote of the hidra tribe is crazy. And chelsea going home i hope will give the og tromoya a chance for us to infiltrate the group.
Cheetos we are holding on. Take care!
Jayjay
Im pretty shocked that it was Chelsea who got voted out this tribal council! I’m sad to see her go she was such a great person! Wondering how the dynamics and alliances are working over on hidra considering I thought the vote was going to be for a male with the info I got from ex hidra team members.
Arvin Bentonon
Oh noooo! My survivor cool mom was voted out. Now I'm in the bottom.
-
I really want Julia to be the gesturer. I think in the music video, Julia showed everyone that she communicates well with actions by giving us nice clean movements.
-
I told Julia that it's either one of us should be the gesturer. So I nominated her in the GC and seems like everybody is on board with it. I'm just so afraid that if one of the rest of them would gesture, they might throw the challenge by confusing us. So I really need to try hard and guess what Julia is trying to act. Just in case they want to throw a challenge, to even out the numbers.
Raffy
Is it weird that I don't really want to win this game? I thought about it and realized that I just want to have fun and meet the newbies. My feelings will probably change sooner or later. But, for now, I'm content with going whichever which way.
Tyler Frazier
So I’m growing a bit concerned about my relationship with Esteban. Prior to the swap he mentioned wanting to work with Raffy and that plus the fact he was able to seemingly instantly integrate himself into the old Tromøya makes me feel like I’m no longer a main priority for him
AJ
I'm honestly pretty hyped for charades. I feel like it's the one in which we have the most even odds. I'm honestly so proud of the femmes and thems alliance rn. Highlight of last round was Zach "uniting" us. Anyway just a short confession until I can give a larger one after the challenge
Raffy
I found an idol! That climbing gear finally came in handy haha. In any case, I think I'll keep this to myself. No use telling everyone and having me be a bigger threat than I already am. Though it does make me question just how many idols are in this game.
Brandi
I’m really hoping to just ride the tromoya train and stay low until the merge - tribal is scary
Arvin Bentonon
I have to made up an advantage, like a legacy advantage if they will believe it, I will be saved by this vote.
Trinica
At this point, Jay's gotta be sick of seeing us at tribal. AND YET.
These advantages/disadvantages are really killing us. We came so close to winning charades!! Julia honestly did an amazing job, and I told her that she doesn't deserve to go home after that performance. I hate to send Arvin home, but I'd feel awful sending Julia home after how well she did.
There are no more idols to be found in the game anymore, which is nerve-wracking. Arvin or Julia could very well have one, so this next vote is going to be tricky. And I'm assuming we've as well as lost the next challenge because AJ and I both landed us with 10% disadvantages. It's not looking good for Hidra (but when is it ever...?)
Esteban
When you thought you don’t care anymore and that you are gonna voted out early then here comes the gods of the seven kingdoms blessing you a safety. Congratulations to tomoya 2.0. raffy did well tbh
Champ
So nervous about losing a challenge! I need to make sure bethany and Tyler stay in this game! If we lose I’m assuming Esteban tyler or bethany will go, and I really want to make it to merge with my entire tribe! Once we merge I feel like I’m in a really good position to make it far
Hairie
We won ... AGAIN! I'm so happy that we did. On top that, the idol or idols has been found and someone or a couple of someones has it. The game is elevating yet again!
Tyler Frazier
So I have the weird sword advantage which would be great if I was certain I’d make the merge but…I’m not. I mean if things go really wrong and Bethany Champ or I get booted then obvi it can be played (I think for them im gonna need to re read) which will be great if we can get out of our current position
Bethany
slayyyy tromoya wins again!!!! im very happy with that because i still dont feel safe here lol but im hoping esteban is starting to see the light and is going to not immediately try and flip on tyler and i
so tyler, champ, and i have a little trio going called brayden's angels which is so cute and tyler and i went idol hunting together today and everything that was good was sold out so like no slay EXCEPT for the 100 coin item
tyler and i had 70 coins combined so we decided to go beg champ for her money too and ms girl is way too loyal and just handed them right over
so tyler bought the sword and it forces a battleback if one of us is eliminated once jury starts which is so fun i love it and im excited because im usually good at comps so that would be perfect if i get voted out lolol
hopefully we can keep the winning streak going and then at the merge i can reunite with all of pink venom and play both sides mwahaha we will see though not trying to get ahead of myself, i just want to try and keep social gaming when we don't have tribal because i don't think tyler is trying as hard with people but it's hard when they leave me on read all day *cough cough* jayjay. but i will not relent!!! u will like me!!!
Arvin Bentonon
Right now, I don't want to talk too much. I just really want to enjoy the process, and maybe someone would talk to me and possibly save me from this vote. The former old hidra tribe thinks I'm running the show with the former tromoya already because I want to talk to almost everyone of them. Now I'm definitely in the chopping block.
Esteban
i don’t know if i am only one of the few people who is happy that the hinting is over. Respect to the host and the fun twist but i still stun a back to basic game where it seperate people who are playing a social, strategic and amazing game to those who are just hoping for luck. 😅.
Do you agree?
Now that it is all over let the survivor back to basic game start! Sorry i was born to play back to basic games. 😂😂😂🤞🏻No more hiding.
AJ
So bad news and even worse news lmfao. We lost the challenge, all idols in the fucking idol hunt have been found, and now idol hunt is closed. Which means we're probably losing up till and into the merge. I can only hope the other tribe has a bunch of disadvantages. We're most likely going into the challenge after next with a net 20% disadvantage unless someone was able to find something. I have my 10% AD at any time, but I will not be using it when we'll still be in the negative and probably still lose.
This next challenge is going to be a 24 hours challenge. What does that mean for AJ? If you guessed zero sleep, you'd be correct!! No matter what it is I'm going to do my absolute best to get us to win it. We NEED a break at some point, honestly, and if it weren't for the advantages we would have won that last challenge. Being on a losing streak isn't fun, but we'll get through it. We always do.
Jayjay
The last charade challenge was a lot of fun. I think Raffy killed it being the gesture, you could tell he definitely gave it his all! Super proud of our team and winning all these challenges. Tromoya strong forevaaaa!!
Hairie
Solidifying my number 1 and we gonna make it to final 3 I’m confident!
-
Strong feelings that either Arvin or Zach going home this next tribal. I’m also thinking Julia might have flipped more so than I initially thought it was Zach. I could be wrong but my guts telling me just that.
Zach🤠
Cant believe we’re going to tribal again. Not a slay. Love that our little panic alliance has stuck together after that one vote to save my ass. AND we have an in with AJ. I have no idea how Julia and Arvin still trust AJ after that last flip, but here we are. I asked Julia why not try to take me down today and she explained to me how similar our games were and how she thought that made us closer and stronger together. And I agree. I can really see myself going a long way with AJ and Jinx.
Arvin Bentonon
I'm not going home without a fight.
Julia
Welp I was blindsided last time and it’s my time to go here. I tried so hard during charades but it wasn’t good enough and I’m heartbroken
jinx
imma keep it so real right now i will ride and die for my alliance but i think we might be the …bad guys…like…we’re really about to be THAT majority alliance huh….erm….chile anyways…did anyone have the chicken?? the chicken was lovely! like we’re girlbossing gaslighting and gatekeeping but at what cost? anyways. i swear if pink venom is reading this post season ITS ONLY BECAUSE WERE A MAJORITY ALLIANCE MAKING THINGS BORING 😭 but we’re a majority of minorities….like WIG!!!!! taking the power back!!!! but are we taking too much??? who’s to say! anyways no jinxcast this round simply because i aint got shit to say! saving it for my actual journal. love y’all! xoxo gossip jinx
Toni
Theme: Anxiety and Alliances
Hello World.
What a shaky Tribal we had on Sunday. We were still strategising by the initial tribal time - thank god it was delayed. The feeling of having my name out there is a feeling I did not enjoy. If anything had gone wrong I would have gone home. The game is getting harder. I started this game confident in my gut feeling but even though I've never been on the wrong side of the vote I can feel my anxiety rising.
I'm grateful for the alliances I've built here and over on the other tribe but the game is getting harder. You do genuinely connect with some of these people and it starts to creep into your heart when you choose to vote them out. We're voting Julia out today and even though I initially misunderstood her I've recently really connected with her on our mutual love for the WNBA. I'm sad. I do have to stay true to my word and loyal to my alliance. Still I'm sad.
Signing off safe but sad.
AJ
Can't remember if I've submitted one of these this round or not. Better safe than sorry so I'm doing that now. We're betraying Julia which is sad because I do really like her, but there's been some good points made for her vote out. Julia when this comes out ily, sorry for my vote

‘it’s alright, you could never hurt me.’
a. eri and someone
b. dark shadow and tokoyami
Thanks Yellow, I've never really written for Tokoyami before, but this was a lot of fun!
-----
"It's alright," Tokoyami mutters absentmindedly, arranging the circle of candles carefully on the floor. Each sits atop a blood-red doily; as dedicated to proper seance etiquette as the hero-trainee may be, Dark Shadow knows he'd really rather not owe money on new wood flooring. "You could never hurt me."
The outline of Dark Shadow's beak forms an approximation of a frown, her sharp, yellow eyes wandering downward. "You always say that." She blinks. "But I don't think you really mean it. You still flinch when you turn the lights off."
Tokoyami raises a quizzical eyebrow, lowering his zippo down to kiss the wick of an unlit candle. It flickers to life, small, and weak, and terribly unimpressive. Not nearly enough to prevent a episode.
But that isn't Tokoyami's fault.
"Not that I'm blaming you!" Dark Shadow ammends, lifting her arms. "It's just... well, everytime we do something like this, I'm worried I'm going to lose control. The candles are light sources, sure, but... are they enough?"
Tokoyami sighs, beak fading into a soft grin. He shuts the lighter, setting it on the floor beside him before turning to take his quirk's hands in his. She bows her head in response, the motion bearing faint hints of shame.
"I'm sorry, I can retract if-"
"No," Tokoyami interrupts, shaking his head with an unusually gentle form of sterness. "No apologizing. We've walked this path before, and in far more volitile times. Your fear is unwarranted, you must know that. We're linked you and I, like pact-bound demon and human, or perhaps vampire and thrall. We exist as one, and I trust the darkness within you with the same surety that I trust the darkness within myself. I know you enjoy these mad banquets of darkness as much as I, and I would not rob you of them."
Dark Shadow quirks her beak. "Ugh, c'mon, those are just platitudes! You're scared of me Tokoyami, of course you are! Remember that night at camp? I... I almost really hurt you. How can you put yourself in complete darkness again so soon after that? It's too reckless!"
"No." Tokoyami frowns, allowing his neck to lose its usual rigidity. "It isn't reckless at all. I trust you, Dark Shadow. Implicitly. And if we don't try to work through this together now, in a safe and stress-free environment, then we never will. I have been flinching when we enter the darkness, but not because I fear you. It's because I fear for you. I don't ever want to make you feel a burden, and the thought that your concern for me may ruin your enjoyment of the night's bounty is... disquieting."
"Oh." Dark Shadow shrinks back. She hadn't considered that her reluctance might be the thing that caused Tokoyami such evident stress. "I'm sorry."
"Don't apologize," Tokoyami orders, though there's more warmth to the words than there is authority. "That's the point of all this. That you don't need to."
"Oh, alright." Dark Shadow attempts a smile. "You can finish with the candles then... but... before you turn the overhead off, do you think maybe you could keep your lighter in your hand? I know it'll be harder to work the ouija board, but..."
"It's of no concern." Tokoyami clutches the lighter to his chest, casting his gaze towards the far window with evident dramatic flair. "The spirits of the damned are perturbed not by the presence of fire. We shall call them to us yet."
"Pfft, okay." Dark Shadow can't help but snicker a bit at that. "Turn off the lights then, you big goober."
"You're sure you're ready?"
"Yeah. We are one in the same, bonded by time, and soul, and the demonic powers of evil, linked forever in darkness," she recites, imbuing the words with the lightest touch of teasing sarcasm. "In other words, we're family. And if you say we're ready, then I believe it."
"Yes." Tokoyami stands, walking over to the lightswitch. "Then we shall let the madness consume us."
It's a poor choice of words, but Dark Shadow nods all the same. The lights die out.
And despite the near pitch black of the room around her, she can't help but feel perfectly, utterly at ease. She trusts Tokoyami.
And Tokoyami trusts her.
