I'm really big on diversity here, and you are the goal that I wanna see. You're Latino, in a leading role; Joel doesn't have to be Latino. Joel could be anybody and that's where I get really excited. You're there, you're representing, and you can just be. You don't have to be, like, overly Latino. You might not be aware, but 75 years of Emmy history, and only one Latino actor has been nominated for Lead Actor - Drama. That's Jimmy Smits. He didn't win? He didn't win. I feel like I'm looking at, potentially, number two. Do you feel that wave coming-- That you can just be Pedro Pascal, an actor, versus; Pedro Pascal, the Latino guy that we have for Latino roles? Do you feel that change right now?
so i think this is cool; i was very nervous reaching out to you at first and like the first times we'd talk i eas very nervous and now i think we are very fast friends even like beyond newsies we have common interests and similar senses of humour and you're like FUNNY and COOL and TALENTED and that makes me very happy :) i just woke up and my brain isnt fully up yet so if this reads badly that's why but friend!! - @pigeonwit
PIDGEEEEE IM GONNA CRYYYY.
That's honestly funny because I was super nervous reaching out to you because your writing is SO FUCKING GOOD. I've been reading run boy run since the first chapter was posted hshshshs. I completely agree, I love talking to you and our humour is very similar lmao. and I LOVE getting to read all of your ideas and snippets bc you have such a way with words.
To more inevitable javid and davey based rambles!! I'm super happy to be able to call you a mutual and a friend :))
"Tell your favorite creators that you like their work, people usually enjoy things silently, but hate tends to be loud"
This is a phrase I just heard from Dnd shorts that captures perfectly why I often try to make the effort of commenting on posts and telling people that I enjoy their work and why
Even to small creators, I advice everyone to make the extra effort to tell them, I can guarantee it makes all the difference in the world, it's not cringy or obnoxious, it'll just brighten someone's day
absolutely wonderful friend over discord telling me I have “lovely ruby lips and hair as dark as the midnight, and soft snow skin”
me: KSFJKSJFKSJFSJF AAAAHH BLUSHING SO HARD I HAVEN’T BEEN GENUINELY COMPLIMENTED IN AGES. crying also because holyheck this put a huge smile on my face wow
I usually get shallow type generic “compliments” that don’t really mean anything to me, but this one is so genuine and brought me so much joy. aksjfksjfkjsf I haven’t genuinely smiled in such a long while ksjkfjskf
Obsessed with the idea that Derek loves hearing Stiles talk, that he could listen to him talk for hours, that he uses the sound of his voice to ground himself and be at peace, that it's his favorite sound in the world. That when someone tells Stiles to shut up he'll growl right in their face and tell them to apologize or get lost (even the pack, they don't get a pass when it comes to Stiles).
I especially can't stop thinking about how, at some point, they'll be alone spending time together, and Stiles will be talking and Derek will be listening, until Stiles shuts himself up because he's so used to people getting annoyed when he talks, and he doesn't want to annoy Derek, but Derek just opens his eyes from where he'd been resting his head on Stiles' lap and asks him why he stopped, he obviously was very excited about the new Iron Man movie, come on, keep going.
And anyways yeah I think they're perfect for each other.
the thing is you have to get a good grade in being an art commissioner. you cannot be a bitch when paying for art. you have to be patient and nice. i have not been perfect in my years of paying other furries for art of my funny animals but i can, with confidence, say ive gotten a good grade. artist friends of mine agree im awesome and fankly the Keys to being Awesome at being a commissioner are just like. being nice and recognizing artists arent machines. theyre people who have their own lives and are not infront of their tablet drawing for everyone 24/7. youll find them posting about some game or movie when youve been waiting three weeks for something and thats fine. youll find them having difficulty getting something exactly like how it is in your brain because, like all people, they cannot read your mind. you gotta have everything ready and upfront and be ready to answer questions. its fine to be a little nitpicky and a little "sorry im not quite sure on this pose, could you do X Y and Z" and not be an asshole about it. after a certain number of "can you do X different" you have to realize its either not going to be exactly how you want it to be or the artist is going to want to kill you with hammers. and thats fine. i think artists have every right to want to kill you with hammers.
toured mark twain’s house today and it was really cool and fun and i think we should keep painting geometric designs with metallic paint on walls to reflect more light
catching up on docs streams, and he's talking about religion/spirituality and how it guides people's beliefs etc. he mentions how (generally) people like to be outraged by things [that dont affect them], like who other people are, and then immediately says 'if you're lgbtq you'll know what im talking about'
and i absolutely do. and its so wild to me how he just. drops that in. then starts talking about how it shouldn't matter who you are, how you can still do be incredibly religious and respect queer people, that the most important thing is that your beliefs don't hurt other people. how you should respect pronouns, that being 'indoctrinated' into being queer isn't a thing.
all whilst he's mining for diamonds using a freaking mega tunnel bore. like its any other conversation you might have
which it certainly is, for me. but a 40 something cishet man? not your standard casual conversation topic, not usually. and even though i already knew he was a supportive guy, hearing a conversation like this outside of an explicitly queer space, unprompted by a queer person. just solidifies what kind of person he is. and gives me faith that even outside of queer specific spaces, important conversations are happening, its not just us protesting and yelling into the wind, no one giving a shit. and its happening in some pretty unexpected places. which id say is pretty neat. its nice to have some hope for a change.
(all that to say, this is a docm77 stan household)
Robin chose Steve. Robin made the conscious and deliberate decision that she could and would trust Steve. She already liked him! She had fun working and bantering with him! They were already on their way to being weird little bffs and the torture just expedited the process. Steve chose Robin just the same! He thinks she's fun and cool and likes her so much! He chose to be honest and open with her too, putting himself out there.
Even though their interests on the surface level don't match why wouldn't they share them? Steve clearly caves when Robin wants to watch a movie he doesn't think he'll like, Robin can watch a March madness game or five.
Stop trying to take away their bond oh my god people can be close to more than one person!!! Their best friend doesn't have to be dismissive or mean or whatever in order for a romance to be special to them!
