I just remembered a thing I used to do that pissed my parents off so much.. I used to hate my face and body (still do but I’m working on it) so much so that I couldn’t even look at it. So when I found old photos of my self, keep in mind I grew up early 00’s so there were plenty of digital copies, but these were printed photos, I would absolutely destroy them. I would stab pins through my eyes and color it with markers and pens, I even tried to light one on fire. My dad would become livid and yell at me about how I’ll want those photos one day and I’m looking back to my camera roll and realizing he was right, I’m looking back at these photos where I’m maybe ages 3-10 and how different I look. My hair is a different color. My eyes. My face structure even. I grew into my self. And I’m really glad I have the few photos I didn’t destroy to look back on and see that I grew as a person. But like.. ages 12 on I look the same. I pulled up a photo from late 6th grade and I look the same. It’s bullshit. Fuck being a changed person I look the SAME from when I was TWELVE YEARS OLD.

#to be fair 11 was this weird awkward phase (all of them were)#so 9-10 I looked like a little baby and then 11 I was weirdly taller and gained more weight and then I chopped off my hair all the time #so my natural long dirty blonde hair was chopped into a bob with fucked up bangs I tried to give my self (and cried over)#but then maybe mid 6Th grade year after I turned 12 I started dying my hair #and then it grew out a little longer #i had gained weight and grew like 6 inches #and then I became a little more confident (not much)#it showed #anyway I know I’m literally describing puberty but still #it hit me like a truck okay #if you see photos of me aged 11 to 12 irs a major difference #z is getting personal

Not socialist in a “I won’t have to work” type of way but socialist in a “I’ll still be working but I won’t be worried I won’t make the rent” type of way. In a “billions won’t be hoarded by one person” type of way. In a “janitors, fast-food workers, child care workers, preschool teachers, hotel clerks, personal care and home health aides, and grocery store cashiers, will live comfortably” type of way. In a “the sick and elderly will be cared for” type of way. In a “no child should work” type of way.

somehow instead of saying "as a treat", I've started using the phrase "for morale", as if my body is a ship and its crew, and I (the captain) have to keep us in high spirits, lest we suffer a mutiny in the coming days.

and so I will eat this small block of fancy cheese, for morale. I will take a break and drink some tea, for morale. I will pick up that weird bug, for morale.
