what's the deal with stone butch blues?
nothing inparticular it's just a semiautobiographical novel and i think it's very funny how it often gets put on reading lists alognside like big volumes of Academic Queer Theory. and us Girls need to start doing that with seirous weakness because it wqould be funny

feels like a lot of you didn’t see the study which found that lesbians are the most likely of the whole LGBT+ community to support trans people because i still keep seeing takes like “not ALL lesbians are terfs, just because a lot are 🥰” or “most lesbians aren’t terfs, but most terfs are lesbians, so it’s fine to hold lesbians to extra scrutiny 😍” or casual, unsupported claims that “transphobia is a big[ger] issue in the lesbian community” by people who actually think they’re doing lesbian positivity and it’s INSANE because you’re wrong! and this leads to a significant proportion of lesbians actually delaying coming out because they’re afraid of being assumed to be transphobes, meanwhile transphobia among bi people and gay men (and transmisogyny among tme trans people) often goes completely unchecked.

Same additions on people's posts criticizing transmisogyny and centering transfems.
It can't always be the same 1 Leslie Feinberg book, and maybe 1 Bell Hooks book. When saying people don't read.
No transfeminism or transwomanism book gets this amount of cliché action or attention, even.

I find it amusing when tme lesbians on here make a big show about how much they love trans lesbians and how interconnected our struggles are because it comes off as the most obvious posturing to me. my experience with the "lesbian community" on tumblr has ranged from conditional and shaky acceptance that ends with a block the minute I step out of line even once to being completely ignored because I can't be someone's butch comptop dommy mommy. they pretend they love trans women so much but when every single one who tries to get involved with the community is treated like she's on thin ice by default it's so clear how performative it all is.

genuinely though its kind of insane the transmisogyny and fear trans women just have to live with and how much of it is waved away as exaggeration or paranoia. all i can think of is that bit from infect your friends and loved ones, “THE WHOLE WORLD MONITORS AND MOCKS MY EVERY WAKING MOMENT”, literally it is the strongest part of the entire book just because of how well that describes this shit

what white LGBTQIA+ don't want to accept (but definitely understand, this is not a they don’t know issue) is that their whiteness and their queerness are inherently joined together in a way that makes them want to use their queerness to deflect on the fact that they're white and benefit DAILY from global anti-Blackness. this is the whole reason that the term "tenderqueer" exists. white LGBTQIA+ are always determined to make themselves out to be the victims of the "nasty Black LGBTQIA+" making fun of them and making mean jokes about them because they're white, and when they see a Black LGBTQIA+ making jokes about white LGBTQIA+, their first instinct is to tell the Black person to remove the "white" from their tweet, but never to remove the "queer" from their tweet. there's a reason for that. it's called a victim complex, weaponizing your whiteness or in this case, what a lot of people call "white tears," which is basically white people wanting to play victim because a Black person made fun of them or call them out for being anti-Black. white LGBTQIA+ oppress all Black people, regardless of whether you slap the word "queer" on or not. white LGBTQIA+ have erased and ostracized Black LGBTQIA+, and now you all play victim when we joke about you all. you all are not the victims of Black LGBTQIA+ and you all will never BE the victims of Black LGBTQIA+. it's not queer infighting to make fun of people who have perpetuated so much isolating antiblackness towards Black LGBTQIA+. stop trying to play victim, you're not one. All white people are oppressors, all white people are c*ps, all white people are settler colonialists regardless of gender or class.

also like idk. i feel like people who use "monosexual," "non-lesbian," etc. don't really understand why "nonblack" is an appropriate term to use but "non-asian," for example, isn't. or at least there's some sort of overlap in people who use those terms when describing lgbt oppression. you have to understand how axes of oppression and hierarchical oppression work...those sorts of terms within the lgbt community don't really work when the oppression is horizontal rather than vertical.

It's incredibly funny to me that "transmisandry" or "Transandrophobia" or "transmisiny" guys or whatever they're calling themselves don't even have enough faith in their own terms that they cycle them out the instant it's realized it's the same old shit in new wrapping paper. For "DESPERATELY needing a word that's the transman version of transmisoginy" yall don't seem really dedicated to it.
Also let's not forget the terms they make up to hurl at us like
"Oh my god that trann- I mean trans woman uses TME/TMA and doesn't conform to the high standard of acceptability politics. What a fuckin TER-I mean Beadde-I mean Trans Lesbian Seprati-I mean T"I"RF!!!!(and therefore a TERF)"
Like yall wanna accuse us of infighting and being the enemies of TransUnity when yall are constantly at the scrapboard trying to invent new intracommunity slurs for trans women.
Anyways thank you to trans guys who are actually cool about trans women for not letting your brothers poison you into thinking that your in a subculture war with your sisters. Yall are the reminder that most trans guys are cool about us and these assholes are just a vocal minority.

like it used to be everyone liked + used the terms transfem + transmasc because they were used to broadly discuss the issues that trans people who transitioned/were transitioning physically socially or both shared regardless of things like their actual gender + presentation + stuff like they are very useful terms bc it covered a lot of different experiences that otherwise would leave people excluded in these discussions so i dont understand the push to change them so they mean... literally nothing essentially. "transmasc means ur trans + present masculine anyone can be transmasc" so its just masc...

While was posting 99% pro-palestine posts last week,
Was witnessing stuff every once while, and also was off tumblr a lot n just letting queue run.
Did see a transfem mutuals post abt bioessentialist transmisogyny breaching containment n getting rbed by ppl that didn't get it.
With Notes like "#so true #misandry" and "#yeah ! no one should say 'hate men'. People blame men for everything" and "#maybe if people listened to lesbians and trans lesbians we wouldn't be in this mess. Read lesbian feminism"* and worse. Like. What.

one of the reasons I can't really see myself dating a tme lesbian is because so fucking many of them, even if they're trans themselves, think they're incapable of being transmisogynistic. like. there's an inherent power difference between us and sooooooo many tme lesbians want to deny that because they have this gut feeling that they're more oppressed on the basis of being afab and I straight up do not feel safe enough to date someone who thinks that.
and like. that's the thing. a lot of them just never even stop to consider that trans women might feel unsafe around them - they think of it being the other way around. and like, idk, the thought of dating someone who views me as a dangerous man even a little bit, even if they won't admit it and don't think they do, is one of the most terrifying prospects imaginable, because I know that at any time they could turn around and discard me like garbage, tell everyone I know that I'm a dangerous abusive predatory tranny in order to isolate me so that I have no one to turn to.
tme lesbians will read this and think I'm exaggerating, think that kind of thing would only happen if I was actually dangerous and abusive and predatory, completely unaware that I've just described the personal life experience of like 70% of the trans women I know. they don't fucking understand how unbelievably common it is for trans women to be abused, beaten, groomed, and raped by their afab partners, only to have those partners turn around and paint them as the abusers and isolate them. no matter how many times I hear a new variation of this story it never stops making me cry. it makes me want to hold them and give them my unconditional love, tell them they're not dangerous, tell them they deserve gentleness and understanding and safety, make them really believe they deserve someone who will respect their boundaries and desires. if you've ever wondered why trans women mostly only date other trans women, it's because nobody else is doing that for us.

i don’t really hate this post necessarily or anything but it’s really funny to me how people will treat lesbians who will stay/be with trans men like either savior christ figures or evil. like brother… im not saying much, but what i am saying is that there’s a notable amount of bioessentialism in the lesbian community and this is often more of an afab4afab moment for them than anything else like half the time regardless of if you realize it then lol
