I don’t even own a stylus, and drew this all with my finger on an iPad, so forgive the quality of the art.

I’ve had tons of ideas for fics, and no time to write them lately. This one is an age swap AU, where everything is the same for the most part on Eda’s end. She gets cursed, and finds the door to the human realm, just like we see in the canon flashbacks. But that’s where stuff gets to be different. Luz is the middle aged one, and takes care of Eda while she sticks around in the human world. Her design remains mostly unchanged, but she does have a red skirt she wears with a tear in it, and black shorts underneath.

The idea I’ve got for Luz is that she’s a single mom, taking care of her daughter, Camila. She’s a burnt out fantasy writer, and lost a lot of her childlike wonder, whimsy, and enthusiasm for the genre she used to love. Her editor is pounding at the door for her next book, but Luz has writers block, and is getting behind on the bills. Meeting Eda, she finds a new muse, and wants to learn about magic in exchange for teaching Eda how the human world works. A lot of her design is taken straight from concept art for her appearance in the epilogue, I just combined a few of the outfits I liked and made her look older.

Camila is Luz’s daughter. She’s not really into the fantasy books her Mom writes, but she loves science fiction, especially Cosmic Frontier. She’s really nerdy and wears her interests on her sleeve. Her love of CF has left her to be picked on and ostracized in school, though she keeps quiet about it, not wanting to pile on more trouble for her mom, when she knows they’re already struggling financially. Her design takes a lot from her appearance in one of the flashbacks when Luz was little, mostly the hair. The glasses are from one of Luz’s concept arts again.

I haven’t really put that much thought into the rest of this AU, so feel free to contribute what you think the rest of the cast would be up to if you’d like. I’d like to imagine that somehow, Luz meets Amity and it’s dorky love all over again, but what Amity is like or what she’s doing evades me.

I’m gonna be sharing my Owl House Wips and Aus for a while now that it’s over and I’m definitely hyper fixating on them.

Reverse Au

During one of her explorations around town after a heated argument with her sister, Eda came across an abandoned house, and of course her curiosity led to her exploring it. To her surprise it ends up being a portal to a demon realm that was in the possession of 2 witches named Luz and Camila.

Luz was apparently a wild witch who didn’t comply to the ‘coven system’ and her mom supported that even though she was in the ‘beast keeping coven’.

Eda couldn’t help but feel drawn to the demon realm and want to learn as much as she possibly could. And while she was originally averse to going to Hexside (she was sure Luz could teach her well enough) the two women convinced her, and it wasn’t completely terrible like she originally thought. She found witches a lot more entertaining than all the boring kids she used to go to school with at least, and she could come up with so many cool pranks in a magical realm that her mind was reeling.

After she became a cool witch maybe she should show Lily this realm too?

Question, when people do swap aus where characters who were kids are now adults and vice versa, what do they do with parent characters?

Ough so many good ideas and no time or patience to write em out but idea for a sorta Swap/Sleeping Isles TOH Au!

Basic idea: what if the Archivist were taken out instead of the Titans?

- okay, maybe that was a little lie, not all the archivist are dead and gone

-but most are.

-still sorta takes place on the titan's body, however we are Xenoblading the shit out of this

-while the boiling isles still exists, it's mid fight/killing a giant Archivist, who locked them in a spell mid kill. Perhaps they are both frozen in time/preserved, or asleep, hence 'sleeping isles'.

-neither of them will ever wake up.

-where their bodies make contact is a warp, likely made by titian blood and archivist magic constantly having an explosive reaction with one another

-the archivist's body isn't 'visible' immediately, or it looks wildly different outside that it does inside.

-entering the warp leads to the demon realm or the dreaming/haven realm.

-haven realm looks real similar to the boiling isles under collector's rule at first.

-the further you go from the Archivist's warp to other places like the 'Archivist's Mind, Heart, Soul, etc' the more wildly different it looks. Kinda based on Mira and the different sky islands of Baten Kaitos.

-the Mind looks like a psychedelic whimsygoth alien world fever dream

-Heart a valentine's day cupid's cloudy wonderland (kinda like diadem in baten kaitos)

-Soul probably looks like a straight split between night and day with endless shallow water that reflects the sky like a mirror

- (these could later change)

-archivist/titian war is at a standstill effectively with both King and Collector missing/being held hostage in the other's realms.

-witches and demons live in both reams and their counterparts are likely sorcerer and angels/fae (although it's theorized they're the same species or sup species of each other, but use different identities)

-Luz is sill the MC, however instead of just wanting to be a witch she wants to learn from both realms and bring em together like in her books.

- Collector is older than Canon, but not by much, maybe around Luz's age or a smidge older (16-18?) Surpresses his more joyful and happy go lucky/playfulness under a boat load of trust issues, wariness that borders on paranoia, and being mean/teases a lot in on purpose to protect himself.

-Was imprisoned for a while, but was tossed between different hands as a mirror and used for their own purposes. When he was finally freed by mistake by a cult member using titian's blood he ran and went into hiding. He can't breach the warp back into the Dreaming Realm and is stuck in the demon realm on the run trying to avoid capture.

-Highkey traumatized after seeing countless of his kin and siblings turned to mirrors and later shattered without remorse by cultist. Also viscerally aware that they're on a corpse of both a titian and their eldest siblings with no way of waking them up. Kind of in denial and wants to find a way to fix them.

-KING on the other hand. Woof. Got egg snatched and then dropped when the archivist that had him was taken out. However he still got dropped in the Dreaming.

-been hunted down relentlessly by cultists, he's just a baby y'all...

-later discovered by Belos and hidden/imprisoned in secret from both the remaining Archivists and Titans.

-Yeah Belos is still here.

-Hes a cult leader, not an emperor. Because there are still some titans he can't do the whole will of the titan nonsense.

-Caleb falls for a witch, per usual, Belos looses it, but when he arrived to the Haven, more specifically the most angelic/heaven like part of it, he mistakes it as actual heaven. Or believes it a sign from god's esp with the more 'angelic' looking Sorcerers.

-Is hell bent on wiping out the demon realm soon to cleanse his brother, but also takes out whatever doesn't fit his perception of paradise from the Haven.

-Archivists take note of this and decide not to take him out bc they want to use him. Seeing as he can cross into the Demon Realm and they can't. So they pose as capital G god or the archangels to get him to do their bidding and indulge his delusions.

-starts a cult in the Haven that wants to destroy the villainous and evil Demon Realms, and seeing his connection to the Archivist's gets the alliance/attention of the Titan trappers.

-the boiling isles has its own cult, or faction that just wants to get rid of the collector or use him to wake up the titan or blame him for their issues. It doesn't help that he antagonizes/attacks anyone on sight to protect himself.

-Eda's trying to to find a cure for herself/explore and learn magic from wherever to be the strongest witch in both worlds. Unwillingly works for Belos because she's trying to keep Lilith safe and biding time to break out King somehow.

- he threatens to send his cultist after Lilith and destroy her life's work.

-she blames herself for getting Lilith under his sights. As he already made an example of her by framing her for being a Collector sympathizer in the demon realm, painting a target on her back when Eda refused. Even before she actually was a sympathizer.

-Lilith didnt actually see there was more to the story before she was ostracized and forced to reexamine her world view

- Lilith, a historian wants to find out the truth to war and find a way to end it, or at least have better grounds than a small ceasefire. Because being able to find peace and learn the history to both worlds is how she understands how it happened at all, and maybe get access to magic from both to cure and find Eda.

-bc of her status as a sympathizer and and outsider, Collector hears this, and checks her out outta curiosity and a bit of hope to find a way home. He comes and goes, still suspicious and weary but listens to her talk history and her theories.

-genuinely scared when meeting him and what to expect of the terrifying eldritch Archivists, Lilith hold back and tries to understand him for more knowledge and not let her fear cloud her vow to seek the truth. She comes to see them as a little kid and promises that they'll both get to see their families somehow.

-they teach her his favourite games and bonds but refuses to show her his magic or tell his history bc he was forced to help others and taken advantage of before.

-more of a close teacher-mentor, or age gap friendship than parental, since they both want to get their families back and are working together. (Kinda)

-bc Luz is human and so different/joyful to be around, and indulges him by playing games and showing him new things Collector gets very attached to Luz. Despite being older they still act like a younger sibling most of the time. But he's protective of her, not wanting her to be exposed to the ugliest side of the war. Or be hurt by cultists.

That's all I have for now still in development. But I'll take any ideas and add ons for consideration is people wanna help build on this!

What is King's deal in your AU? Is he four hundred years old and Luz and Hunter met him way back when or is he the same age as canon and got found by Empress Luz recently?

A little of both? In TOH canon King has to be thousands of years old already since his dad dies while King is in his egg -- but also Bill said that he saw the last Titan "with its piercing roar..." which was King's dad defending King which he heard inside the egg so does that make the Iles much younger than we thought or does that make Bill older than he looks or does that make King much older or about as young as he appears???? I don't know if the toh writers really thought that through super well tbh. In this version of TOH Titans spend around a thousand years in their egg before hatching and then have incrimental growth and physiologically developmental spurts every 100 or so years after hatching. King hatched around 100 years before Luz and Hunter are born in 1600 -- neither of them ever met King back then because he was still in the tower. Modern day Luz and Caleb meet King in a super spoilery way so I can't say. Luz looks after King and I'll say that their relationship is a sort of swap with King and the Collector who also still exists. Although I don't think he'll be part of their story.

The other night Scribe and I were talking about how fandoms love the idea of age-swap AUs but rarely actually interrogate the idea in interesting ways and instead go for sort of cookie-cutter replacements without thinking about who is the most interesting to have switch roles and how it would change the story if you did, and it got me thinking about how I would do a TOH swap AU. Except now I'm a little obsessed with a couple of the ideas that got tossed around which is..... dangerous

Specifically the ones that won't leave my brain now are:

If your primary proposed swap is (logically enough) Eda and Luz, Lilith probably ought to come to the Demon Realm with her sister, and some of the later dynamics with Belos get extremely interesting if suddenly he's talking to a pair of human siblings who wandered there together

Alternate rebel Coven Head trio of Gus (who has been living a double life fitting of an Illusion head, hiding his friendship with Luz the fugitive wild witch while starting to doubt Belos' system), Skara (who is potentially fostering rebel tendencies in a teen protégé Raine Whispers), and Viney -- the last of whom takes up Raine's role in the plot as the one who gets in a bit of trouble at first running the B.A.T.Ts (....Beastkeepers Against the Throne, why change a good thing?) before they get their revolution more properly off the ground, although she definitely only ever got a Coven sigil with the explicit intention of tearing the system down from the inside.

If you take the adults to all be in their late 40s or so, you get an almost-fifty year-old Hunter who has somehow hung on to the position of Golden Guard (and his life) for almost the entirely of Belos' reign as Emperor and was very possibly created because his predecessor disagreed with aspects of Belos' rise to power. This gives him a practically unfathomable bundle of neuroses, an uncomfortable mounting suspicion that the Day of Unity might not be what he's been told all this time, and, perhaps most dangerously for him when it all blows up in his face -- after almost five decades without having to "replace" his brother, Belos is starting to think that this time, he got it right.

Dear TOH Fandom,

Pretty soon, I'm gonna be making my first multi-chap for TOH on Ao3 (GenericNam is my username there too), but I can't decide which fiction to decide on between my Ideas. So. I've decided to leave the choice in YOUR incredibly responsible hands (sarcasm).

Propaganda under the cut:

All fics would be Luz centric, or at least have her as one of the main characters, because she is my hyperfixation character. I will likely write all of them eventually, but this is to see which will be most popular.

1. Luz and Eda Swap AU: Luz is a witch and Eda is a human; they don't swap ages though, so Eda still takes on the role of sassy grandma and Luz is still the innocent happy-go-lucky delinquent. Luz is the Snake Lady instead of the Owl Lady. Eda wants to learn magic for personal reasons, and if she accidentally adopts several traumatized witches and demons along the way? Why not? Luz and Eda are both the main characters. It would have some series rewrite stuff about it, but there would be a lot of canon divergence because of the characters different goals. Would probably be pretty long.

2. Luz Palisman AU: Luz dies in a freak accident at some point before the Hexsquad get their palismans. Through some handwavy magic that can be explained in the fic, Luz becomes Amity's cat palisman, instead of Ghost. But anytime she tries to tell Amity who she is, some external force stops her. Luz has to balance figuring out how to return herself to being human, while also trying to help Amity stay afloat. Amity herself is having a lot of trouble, her parents don't cut her any slack, even while grieving Luz, and things just keep going downhill for her; good thing she at least has her palisman to comfort her. Luz and Amity are the main characters. Would be probably mid length.

3. Cliche Captured By Belos AU: Belos uses the memory tweezers in order to edit Luz's memories and gaslight her into working for him. Just one small problem… Luz is still a smol bean who loves making friends, regardless of how hard Belos tries making her hate witches. Luz is the main character, but Belos, Eda, and the Hexsquad all play major roles. Would probably be the shortest of the three options.

I do not proship, nor do I allow discussion of proshipping when it pertains to my works. Here’s a link to the post where I discuss my reasoning on my other blog. My main concern when it comes to this rule is my work ‘Shades of Lavender’, but it still stands in regards to my other works. 

I will not tolerate hate in my comments. Full stop. 

I’m writing this just before the release of For The Future, and I’m sure you all know of the leaks from the episode. I am lucky enough to have the privilege of being able to watch the episode legally and supporting Dana and her team. While I recognize that not everyone has that as an option, I ask that we try and avoid spoilers here, both with regards to the upcoming release and when the final episode comes out (because we’re 0/2 so far on managing not to get leaked, and I don’t love the chances) 

I don’t do NSFL stuff, which in my definition includes:

Incest or pseudo-incest/found family incest

Graphic or detailed rape/non-con

Any form of underage character/adult character shipping

When it comes to 18+ stuff, I do occasionally create and discuss smut works. However, it will be clearly marked and closely monitored. I also do not create 18+ stuff involving underaged or aged up characters (where they’re aged up for the sake of making smut legal).

Be patient with me, please. I’m a full time student with a part time job. This is my hobby and I love it, but I don’t have the luxury of spending as much time as I’d like on it. Sometimes projects will come out late or take ages to update. If that happens, know that I’m doing the best I can to create the best project I can.

Quick idea for toh au in the riordanverse 

So I would want to set this during the trials of apollo era. The big things are

1. King is a god-kid who gets mortal-ed and then ends up beholden to a single, clear-sighted mortal named Luz. 

2. Eda is an older half blood who grew up in new rome, We’re swapping the order of her and Lilith’s births so that mama Clawthorne could have had a fling with the Greek form of Hecate before settling down with Dell, a long term Roman legacy like her. Eda always felt out of place there and ended up with a harpy curse when she and Lilith were battling for praetorship. She ran away from home not too long after since it really wasn’t working and hasn’t kept in contact with anyone from that side of the world. She’s Greek ENOUGH, and she tries to stay out of the Greek business anyway. 

3. So King, newly demoted god, ends up chaperoned by mortal Luz and absolutely bonkers Greek-Roman middle aged half blood Eda. Which is bad enough on its own when they get to Camp Half Blood for him to try to learn about “being a good mortal” and “not messing everything up with the collector” and “ultimate power is bad, actually”. And he gets better, mainly! 

4. Luz befriends Gus, a son of Apollo, and Willow, a daughter of Demeter. And then POOF everything blows up when this universe’s version of the Triumverate comes knocking. 

5. This Triumverate is just Belos (and a collector that he’s saved from the fate the COLLECTOR was cursed to by the gods of becoming a mortal). The collector is just trying to have a chaotic good time, and Belos harnesses that by pointing him at any whiff of any gods he can find. Belos is the remnant of the first devout Christian Roman Emperor and he wants everything else gone. He’ll take care of the collector too, eventually, but first he wants to eradicate all hints of other powers. There is but ONE god after all. 

6. Like Nero, he’s got emotionally abused children. Unlike Nero, it’s just Hunter over and over and over again. Hunter’s an amalgamation of Belos’s brother’s soul and then different monster matter in a mainly human shape, and because of that every time that he dies he spends a while in Tartarus and then comes back. Which. SUCK! It sucks! And he remembers and it’s awful :) 

7. Boscha and Amity are praetors at Camp Jupiter! It sucks! Boscha’s a child given to her mothers (both legacies so diluted they can’t trace their ancestry much to any single god) by Venus. Amity is a granddaughter of Vulcan on her father’s side and a respected by very diluted House of Blight on her mother’s side. (They claim to be descended from Jupiter, but since the last proper Jupiter half blood in their family tree was two hundred years ago it doesn’t really count.) 

8. Enemies to friends! Amity going from mean uptight bully to sweet to girlfriend! Amity being very cruel to Willow in particular for being the daughter of a weakling goddess but learning and growing. Also breaking up with Boscha. 

9. Hunter! Getting the fuck! Out! 

10. King never having to go back to being a god and chilling with his friends and family instead :) 

11. The collector gets turned back into a mortal to learn his lesson and gets sent to a very good foster home in New Rome and not anywhere else. Also gets therapy 

12. Lumity new rome dates and Camilla gets to ride a pegasus :)

Camp here and there + the owl house character swap au summary

Spoiler warning for the owl house and camp here and there

Also disclaimer, I'm open to suggestions for any changes!! It's super early and it's not the most thought out thing yet

The au is a work in progress that puts the owl house characters into the camp here and there world and focuses on the camp

It combines the plots and mixes different concepts from each story

It swaps the toh adult characters with the major adult characters from ch&t, and keeps the child characters as campers. It combines their personalities, abilities,hobbies,character arcs,and secrets with who they're swapped with. They're also aged much closer to the people they replace

The owl house does not have a lot of major adult characters, so some cabins only have one councilor

The exact way Luz ends up there is still getting worked out but I'm working on it, presumably ends at the wrong camp on her way to the camp her mom sends her to in the beginning of the show, she gets written off as a lost kid and ends up convincing them to let her stay

(I will go in depth in this in a different post, and some of these things will change when I write more)

Glyph magic, curses, positions, demons, and things like that from the owl house carry over

Palismen do aswell, some of the older people kids have their own palismen, but each cabin have palismen that are taken care of and loved by the whole cabin, and the animals correspond with the cabin names. But the nurse's office has owlbert, who helps eda and Raine (mostly eda) with sick kids and his redesign also mirrors that

That's the summary, but I'm gonna write about some of the characters as well just for the idea of them

(full in depth explanations and descriptions for each character will be posted when I have concept art of them)

Eda (has a full description ) - Eda replaces Sydney, eda is the main adult so she was my first choice (was originally gonna be Raine, but I decided against it for many reasons, one being raines stage fright)

Raine (has a full description) - Raine replaced Jedidiah, Raine and eda are distant childhood best friends who used to date, and Sydney and Jedidiah were the same.

Belos (has a full description) - belos replaces elijiah, but he still has his motivations and general plot from the owl house, combined with Elijah's personality.

Terra (does not have a full description) - terra replaces Lucile, I chose her because Raine doesn't have a mother. she was raines guardian when they were a child, but didn't adopt them. she runs the camp the same as Lucille does

Lillith (does not have a full description) - lillith doesn't technically replace Rowan, she's more like her toh self than anyone else is, she has rowans visions and anxiety towards the sky, while keeping her current relationships and most of her personality. There was no reason for choosing her other than I decided to put her in magpie moth

Adrian (does not have a full description) - Adrian replaces juniper, getting chased out of his cabin, into silkworm, and then into magpie moth. His personality is closer to junipers than his in toh.

Darius and eberwolf (do not have descriptions) - Darius and eberwolf have their same dynamic, but share one similar to Yvonne and Joshua's friendship as councilors of cabin silkworm. Eberwolf is older and more humanoid in the au.

Principal bump (does not have a full description) - principal bump had to replace warren and Gracie because there are not that many adult characters in the owl house, so he shares the personalities of both of them.

Amber and Katya (does not have a full description) - amber replaces Marisol and Katya replaces Salem as councilors in cabin grasshopper.

Derwin (does not have a full description) -

Derwin has to replace Juno and Mila as councilor of widow spider and lake guard, because again there's not many adults in the owl house.

Kikimora (does not have a full description) - kikimora replaced Soren, it is so much of a stretch but I'll go in depth at some point, she is a councilor for cabin ladybug and has an unconventional obsession with necromancy.

King (does not have a full description) - king is considered an anomaly who would commonly visit the camp, only to be sent out. during the events of the au, eda has agreed to let him stay around after getting attached to him

I do not have a character to replace fennel, but I'm looking for one

All of the kids stay basically the same since they're not swapped with certain characters

I think that's everything, I will change this if I need to, and I'll update it whenever the character explanations are posted
