Like Father, Like Son by milkpup
Chapter 1: Promises
--
“When we get older, let’s get married!” you exclaimed to Megumi, who was sitting next to you on the park bench. “We know each other best, so if we find no one else by the time we go to college, let’s get together!”
You were both in middle school still. You’ve been extremely close friends since you were young children. Megumi and his father lived in the same neighborhood as you. As a natural result of your home life being chaotic and dysfunctional, you spent most of your childhood at Megumi’s.
You were still girly and feminine, but having a guy best friend meant that you had interests more like his. You both grew up playing games together, sitting in front of the tv into late hours into the night. You were a sore loser. He was always better at any games you two played, like mario kart, fighting games, whatever it was, he was better. This meant you constantly tried to improve your skills; you wanted the satisfaction of making him lose, but you also wanted him to be impressed.
You didn’t quite understand it at the time. Why did you want to impress Megumi? It’s just a game. You brushed it off. Friendly competition never hurt, right?
--
Years pass, the same old routine. You coming over to Megumi’s house after school, staying late or sometimes spending the night. His father, Toji, saw you as his own. A daughter he never had.
It was hard after Megumi’s mother passed. Toji was more reserved, more monotonous. It seemed like the vibrancy and color of his soul was dulled. His wife was the one person he truly cared for, who he loved, and who gave meaning to his life. Being a single father of a young boy was rough. He appreciated that you brought joy to his son’s life. He appreciated that, as you grew older, you would help around at his house. Cooking, cleaning, whatever it was, you would help lessen the load on Toji.
--
In the middle of your senior year of highschool, tragedy struck the community. Your parents were killed by a drunk driver. It all happened so fast. You feel selfish and would never admit this, but you were sort of relieved. You rarely spent time at home. Your father was an abusive drunk and would target you and your mother. Your mother tried to protect you the best she could. She wanted you to be safe. She was always relieved when you would text or call her saying you were staying at Megumi’s. She trusted that boy and knew he would never be like your father.
You were sad your mother was gone. But at least she now knew peace. A tragic end, yes, but better than watching her be abused by your father.
You started living with Megumi full time. It was already basically your home in the first place, just more official now. You appreciated Toji welcoming you into his home with open arms, letting you live there full time. He was more of a father than your sperm donor parent was.
In return, you cooked and cleaned almost exclusively. You didn’t necessarily mind. You didn’t see it as demeaning, but rather as a way to show your gratitude. Cooking was also a cathartic release for you; it allowed you to remove yourself from tough emotions and focus on the task on hand. And you absolutely loved when people would praise your cooking. Thus, you were constantly trying new recipes and techniques, chasing new flavors.
Toji appreciated you basically taking on the household responsibilities while he worked long hours. He has a provider mindset. He wants to fulfill his role of providing while a woman in his life would take care of the home and enrich his life.
A few times he caught himself being reminded of his wife whenever you would do something for him. Your cooking tasted like home. Your smile and laugh were intoxicating. You had a gentle and kind soul, willing to look past anything for the right person. He felt almost uncomfortable, as if he should not be having thoughts of his late wife when looking at his pseudo-daughter. But he couldn’t help it. He’s a simple man.
--
“Good morning, Toji!” You say while something is sizzling in the pan. “I hope you’re feeling something sweet this morning!”
Toji smiles lightly. “What are you making today, little miss chef?”
“French toast!” You turn around to face him, wearing a cute apron and holding the spatula in your hand.
Toji notices the cooking must’ve gotten a bit messy, there was flour on your apron and some powdered on your cheeks. He thought it was insanely adorable.
“I’m excited to try it. Your food never ceases to amaze me.”
Good thing you had already turned back toward the stove, otherwise Toji would have saw the bright red blush creep across your face. “T-thank you… I’m glad you like it. It’s almost done.”
You could feel him watching you from behind. It was different than usual, you felt nervous? You couldn’t possibly know this at the time, but Toji was eyeing you down. Noticing the way your apron is tied around your waist, your ass in your cute shorts, messy hair, it was all perfect to him.
“All done!” You say as you start plating the French toast. “I’m going to go wake Megumi, but please try it while it’s still hot!!” You move to untie your apron, Toji never breaking his gaze on your form.
You walk towards Megumi’s room, approaching the door and knocking. “Heyyy Megs! Breakfast is ready! I know you like sweet food, so I made French toast! Come get it while it’s still hot!”
You don’t hear much behind the door, but your stomach rumbling forces you to go back to the table. You were practically drooling the whole time thinking about how delicious this food was going to be.
You re-enter the dining room and sit across Toji. He’s already started eating, and he looks like he’s enjoying it. You didn’t take him for a sweets for breakfast type of guy, so you ask him “Is it good?”
He looks up at you, and it sends shivers down your spine. “It’s delicious, sweetheart. I’ll eat anything you give me. Anything.” He smirks. He figures that isn’t crossing any lines, just playful banter and teasing. He watches your face turn a bit red as you try and hide it while eating.
--
Back in Megumi’s room, he’s slowly waking up. He doesn’t feel well-rested. “Probably due to that weird dream last night”, he thinks to himself. He doesn’t know why his brain chose now of all times to remember the promise you two made to eachother all those years ago. He figures you probably forgot about it; but for him, he can’t get it out his mind.
He shakes his head. “Whatever, I need to get ready.” He will deal with his feelings and emotions later. He remembers you mentioning sweet food and he’s already out the door. His hair is still messy, his pajamas still on.
As Toji moves to pick up his keys and leave for work, Megumi sits down next to you. He takes in the sweet aroma of French toast covered in powdered sugar and fruit. His stomach is painfully growling at this point. He serves himself and takes a bite, absolutely melting in bliss. You always make the best food, and this is no exception.
You watch as he seems excited to eat. He looks absolutely adorable, his emotions on full display as easily as a book can be read. You can tell he’s happy in this moment, and you find yourself smiling, knowing it was you that brought this.
“This is amazing. Thank you, Y/N. Seriously!”
You blush. Compliments and praise feel different from Megumi. They feel genuine and sincere, full of warmth and love.
You finish up and start cleaning. You and Megumi have the same major and a bunch of the same classes, you both need to get ready soon. Megumi gets up to help you clean.
As he stands next to your side, drying dishes as you wash them, he tells you his thoughts. He doesn’t know how to best bring it up. He’s a shy guy, so he goes for the most direct route to get it out as fast as possible. “Y/N, do you remember the promise we made in middle school?” He’s looking down at the sink, awaiting your response.
“Of course Gumi, how could I forget?” You’re slightly teasing him at this point. You were actually surprised that HE would remember that. You wonder why he’s bringing it up, and ask him. “Why?”
Silence follows your question for a few moments. “I’m not sure…. I was just thinking about it.”
Hearing his response makes you blush and your heart beat faster. What does he mean he was thinking about it? He can’t be serious?
“We can talk more about it later. We need to get ready, Y/N.” You’re thankful he gave you an opening to escape this awkward situation. It wasn’t a weird awkward, but more embarrassing than anything.
You keep asking yourself why he would be thinking about it, now of all times. You are starting college now, so you figure now would be the timeframe of the promise in question. But you didn’t think he would be serious about it. You return your room, trying to distract yourself by getting ready.
--
Megumi waits for you to finish getting ready in the living room. You exit your room, wearing simple yet cute clothes. Megumi finds it adorable how you can look good in literally anything. Even wearing the simplest outfits, leggings and a t-shirt, and you still look breathtaking. He feels weird again, thinking about his best-friend like this. He’s just simply observing and appreciating good style, right? That’s what he will tell himself.
You and Megumi carpool to campus together. You both say it’s for the environment, but you both know it’s because you absolutely hate driving.
The car ride there is always the same, listening to music together and talking. Since you both have the same classes, you are already study buddies. You’re both excited to keep going to school together.
Megumi listens as you talk about your newest fictional crush obsession. He thinks it’s so adorable how you could talk forever and ever about the things you like. He listens and observes, not wanting to interrupt your sweet voice.

On Alucard and Maria
Tumblr media
Are there actually fans advocating for Alucard to be written as Maria’s father figure in the new season of Nocturne? Like that would be a good thing and not infinitely creepier? I don’t think they’ve thought this through.
Alucard is the single most popular character in the franchise. He’s also probably the most shipped character. And yet he has only had one canon love interest in the decades since he’s existed. It’s Maria. And you’re telling me that you think that because he’s 300+ and she’s 17-18 when they started living together in the games, that it would be grooming. However, somehow him inserting himself into her life at age 16 when she’s just lost both her parents wouldn’t come off like grooming!?
Tumblr media
Does this man look like he should be picking up random children!? He’s literally terrified of his own cursed blood. Maybe LISTEN TO HIM.
I’m convinced fandoms have forgotten what that word means. Grooming has specific features. It doesn’t just mean “older guy and younger girl.” A relationship with an age gap or an uneven power dynamic can be exploitative or abusive without being a case of grooming. Grooming specifically refers to the process of forming a relationship with a child with the intention of leveraging that relationship and trust to train and prepare (aka brainwash) your victim for the harmful activities the groomer wants to normalize. The relationship Alucard and Maria have in the games is in no way grooming. You know what would be grooming though?
Coming into a 16 year old’s life when she’s vulnerable, traumatized, and recently orphaned only to insinuate yourself as a new father figure. This is so highly inappropriate and a huge red flag. Consider what you’re actually asking for here. These characters do not exist in a a vacuum. They have a long history together as each other’s only canon love interests. You cannot fully extract them from the games, art, interviews, audio dramas, animations, and more where they’re depicted as a couple. There are decades of this precedent and you are asking Netflix to knowingly take the characters with an established romantic dynamic that the audience is already primed to see as romantic and instead portray their meeting as him trying to be her new daddy?
Tumblr media
“Oh look! Alucard and his… daughter? Yikes.” This is an official advertisement btw.
THAT is grooming! Think about the optics of this! It would be abysmal! No it would NOT fix the problem of their age gap to make him act like a groomer and get in good with her as a dad. You just cannot completely extract them from the legacy of their relationship in the source materials. It will be incredibly creepy and textbook grooming if you get your way.
Tumblr media
Is this really what you want to associate with an “adoptive father Alucard”? Because the art we create doesn’t exist in a vacuum. All the old content—official and fanmade—is still going to exist.
What is so objectionable about the original dynamic anyway? It’s a pretty fun subversion of the tired and problematic vampire trope of “vampire man stalks teen girl and coerces her into being his”. Instead in their original relationship, Maria is the one who pursues Alucard! It’s the young woman who takes initiative and is given the agency to go after what she wants. She courts and woos him. That’s part of the fun!
Yes, Alucard is 300+. He’s also a fictional creature that doesn’t actually exist IRL and stays eternally young. There are no actual people who will ever have his problem of staying 20 forever so it’s rather silly to say he can’t date any humans because of course he will have an age gap with any of them.
The only real problem I have seen people bring up is Maria’s age, but from what I can tell, the show’s already fixed this. Check it out.
In The Games
Rondo of Blood: Maria is 12. She and Alucard do not meet. Richter is a brother-figure and not romantic.
Tumblr media
There is then a 5 year time skip.
Symphony of the Night: Maria is 17. She and Alucard meet to save Richter. At the end, Alucard says his goodbyes and intends to return to a life of solitude. Maria goes after him because she has developed feelings for him and doesn’t want him to suffer a life alone.
Maria is given agency to pursue what she wants and prove herself even against Alucard’s resistance and hesitance to let another person into his life.
Tumblr media
They spend a year together before we get the audio drama.
Nocturne of Remembrance: Maria continues to try to get close to Alucard. They end up saving each other’s lives and in the end he finally confesses his romantic feelings for her. She is an adult and perfectly able to make her own choices. She chose him. He admits he returns her feelings.
How fandom can look at a story about a young woman subverting the trope and chasing the vampire to get what she wants—basically an anti-Bella Swan—and still find a way to disempower her just so they can pearl clutch? I couldn’t tell you.
So now let’s look at what the show did.
In The Show
Nocturne S1: Maria is 16. She’s been aged up from 12, probably to give her a more active and believable role. But this also means she’s within a normal age to start feeling attraction and expressing her wants. Within her society, she’s even considered of marriageable age. However we are spared the discomfort of our modern values clashing with her contemporaneous ones because Maria in this season isn’t interested in romance. She’s interested in revolution, equality, justice. They’ve portrayed her with so much love and strength. There is no indication they’d betray her by writing her as the child victim of a male suitor. In fact she only meets Alucard in the final few seconds of the season and the two do not even speak a single word to one another.
Tumblr media
Now let’s remember the games had a five year time skip. The show only needs two years to get Maria to the adult age of 18, but assuming the follow through with the timeline and go for the full five?
Maria will be 21.
21.
Tumblr media
Fan concept for adult Maria. Credit:@esp-art
Are you telling me a 21 year old woman is not old or mature enough to make her own decisions? How is this not a total infantilization of women? Do you think a 21 year old badass vampire hunter needs protection from the ace depressed dhampir boy who just wants to sleep and has in no way tried to pursue her until after she expressed consistent and persistent interest in him?
It is not “grooming” to meet someone when they were younger and then meet them again years later as an adult. That’s a thing that happens! In real life! Adults can still make decisions for themselves! It is only grooming if Alucard behaved in a way that would manipulate teen Maria and put her under his control and authority before she can consent. There is no indication that Alucard in the show is going to do this. And yet the fandom is basically demanding it by saying he should make her “his baby girl”?
And what of Maria’s feelings in all this? She just lost her mother and was betrayed by her father shortly after discovering he even existed. She has lived her whole life without a father. She is in no desperate need of a new one. And if she does need a family member, she already has one! Richter is 19 and is her trusted adoptive brother. Why wouldn’t she go to him over a total stranger she just met and who is half vampire - literally a predator creature that feeds on humans!?
Tumblr media
Yeah, hi, Richter Belmont still exists. He and Maria consider each other family. Why would you want her relying on a strange man she just met as a “father figure” rather than her trusted and loving brother?
Have none of you even considered how Maria would feel if Alucard even tried to fill the paternal role? He’d have to force it on her through manipulation and coercion. No way she would want to view him that way. Especially considering she is 16 and likely to be as attracted to the sparkly 20 year old looking sculpted marble beauty as anyone else!
Tumblr media
Don’t mind the beautiful eternally young man who looks made of pure porcelain and light. No teen girl has ever been attracted to this, right? No way it could be exploitative and creepy for him to present himself as her new daddy, giving himself authority and influence over her as his child to mold as he wishes, right? Oh yeah, this is MUCH better than Maria pursuing him of her own volition once she becomes an adult, right guys?
We are truly in the stupidest dark timeline.
Frankly, I don’t care if Netflix has them get together or not. They would work just fine as friends too. I just sure as hell hope they’ll ignore the fans clamoring for a creepy daddy/daughter dynamic. Dressing it up as “concern” won’t hide that for some it’s a fetish, and for others they’re just useful idiots who haven’t thought it through.
I implore you to think it through.

🦁 When you proposed to him and he accepted, your family was notified immediately, just so they could tell every possible suitor that you were now getting betrothed. But, unlike you, Leona left his family in the dark
🦁 He believed it was none of their business until he deemed it to be their's to know
🦁 Growing up, Leona would love looking at the stars with you, since you were staying away from home, and you would tell him stories about what the stars looked like from up-close
🦁 He and you decided to mix the two different things you grew up with, so it kinda looked like this in general
🦁 After your wedding, many began to pressure you guys into having children and continuing your lineage, to which Leona just flipped them off and scolded them into minding their own business
🦁 When you eventually came to him with the idea of having children of your own, he was shell-shocked. He never expected you to want kids, since you and him were both busy with handling your new kingdom
🦁 Leona begrudgingly spoke to his older brother, Farena, about taking care of children, to which his brother chuckled and gave him the best advice he could for during pregnancy and when the child came
🦁 It took only a few tries when you found out you were pregnant, but not with only one, you guys were having two children, which did not surprise Leona, since the beastman have an average of one to four at once, much like the real animal
🦁 Once the children came into the world, you got to name one and he named the other. This was one of the only times you had ever seen your husband cry, and the only reason he was is because your one baby's hand was gripping onto their father's with such grip
🦁 One child was never pinned against the other, you treated both of them the same, because you knew how it could sour a relationship, take Leona and Farena into perspective

🐍 Once Kalim told his parents about you and Jamil's engagement, they swore to themselves that once he turned eighteen and graduated, they would free their family from their dues so he could live a free life with you
🐍 When he did graduate from Night Raven College, you and him began to plan your wedding, one themed with a mixture of nature, which he loved, and the surroundings of the night sky
🐍 Basically looks like this
🐍 Your families did not meet before the wedding, since the Vipers were going through agreements with the Al-Asims as your's was ruling their kingdom
🐍 At the wedding, they got along very well, surprising both you and your newly dubbed husband
🐍 Once the toasts began, Kalim and your younger brother jumped up and began to yell about how the Vipers were now free and you both could live your lives doing whatever you wanted
🐍 That news made Jamil smile and laugh wholeheartedly, because of how his family was tied down, he knew he would've had to admit how he couldn't bear having children, in fear they'd have to go and live out years of pain, now he didn't have too!
🐍 Hugging you from behind as you spoke to your brother about his new role as the future heir of your kingdom, Jamil whisked you away once excused and asked you about traveling the world together, he and you had never seen everything, so, why not now?
🐍 The day after during your honeymoon, you said your goodbyes and farewells to your friends and set a course for your new lives, traveling the world to discover new things
🐍 You had been invited to attend Sebek and Silver's graduation into becoming knights because of your close connection with the fae community through Malleus and your's friendship
🐍 That was when you found out you were pregnant, and it took the effort of Lilia, the Viper family, and your family to settle down Jamil's nerves of becoming a father
🐍 You gave birth to a lovely baby girl, who looked exactly like a mixture of you both, a mix of hair and eye colors, even the skin was tinted together
🐍 You both settled together in Scaling Sands until she was old enough to travel with you both, and when she got a taste of that free air, she was your wild child, following you both until the ends of time
🐍 Jamil and you couldn't have asked for anything better than this

I love how you write, by gods I will keep them forever. Definitely the best writings by Max Thunderman that I have read here, I would be fascinated by a second part of ⟨Perfect for me⟩, Of course if it's in your plans or you have time, if not ignore me completely but I love how you write 💞🎸
Imperfectly Loved (Max Thunderman x GN!Reader)
Tumblr media
Summary: Max Thunderman has been utterly heartbroken since you broke up with him due to his rivalry with one of your friends, his sister. Their powerful arguments has led them both to lose you, and Max doesn't know what to do anymore. Even if he had a moment to talk to you, what would he even say? Part One: Perfect for Me Pronouns: You/Yours, They/Them Warnings: Brief mentions of characters not eating, but no depth into it. Word Count: 5.0k A/N: I'm using your ask so everyone knows this is part two lmao (but if you've never read perfect for me it's not required to read the first part, you'll get the gist). But thank you so much! You're such a sweetie! Thank you thank you thank you! 'Perfect for me' was originally based on a song, then I changed it to what it is, and it wasn't going to have a part two. I enjoy the angst. Since you guys all asked so nicely, here is the heavily requested part two!
Max Thunderman was known to be mischievous, he was known to be manipulative, ‘evil’ even. Max Thunderman was known to be in his lair working on his next scheme to bring embarrassment to others, humor to himself. He would go to the kitchen, see his family, and retort back to them when they speak of his ‘phase’ he’s going through, telling them how serious he was about being evil.
The issue at the moment was that Max wasn’t doing any of that. He hadn’t worked on a project in a few days, nor had he eaten meals with his family in the time span. When he walked up the stairs to get to the main floor of his home and his family saw him, he wouldn't even acknowledge them. He wouldn’t look at them, not an eye roll, not a snarky response, not even a smirk.
Barb would ask if he had gotten to the closing end of his ‘phase’ since he wasn’t acting as his normal self, Hank laughing at the comment a bit. Max looked at them, but his eyes were distant, as if he was looking straight through them. He would turn and go to the pantry, grabbing a bottle of water and then he would go back to his lair, not saying a word.
His parents looked at each other oddly, confused as to why Max suddenly was acting so strange.
Phoebe had only been looking down if she was in the area with Max at all, her time had mainly been spent in her own bedroom.
Billy and Nora would frown at one another, their two older siblings had been detached from the rest of the family since Saturday, since you had left the house. They didn’t know when everything would go back to normal, if anything would go back to normal.
The following days had the same pattern. Phoebe would come down for breakfast or dinner, she wouldn’t talk. She would pick at her food and when everyone left the table she would go back to her room. Max wouldn’t come for meals at all and he would stay in his lair, no sounds heard from his room from the kitchen like before.
Phoebe would go to his lair door, the basement door, and listen in, concern always filled her. She would hear quiet, muffled sobs from the room. When she heard Max’s hiccups and large gasps for air from crying her own eyes would fill with tears. She would sniffle and contemplate whether she should knock and try to comfort him, but she would shake the thoughts from her head and go back up the stairs to the main floor.
One day she had done the usual, listening at the door, trying to find the courage to knock and do something for Max. When she listened in this time, she heard footsteps coming to where she was so she would rush up the stairs, going to the kitchen to act as if she was just looking for a snack.
Max walked past her like he didn’t see her. He went to the pantry and his eyes scanned the area but he just closed it back and walked back to his lair. He had kicked the button, about to go down before Phoebe squeezed her eyes shut, deciding this was her moment or she’d never have it again.
“Max!” She called to him, hands clenched into fists to stop them from shaking, walking closer so now she was at the base of the small steps to get to the tunnel.
Her twin looked at her blankly, his eyes were so unfocused, it made her shiver, slightly uncomfortable. They didn’t have the typical glint in his eyes when he was plotting something, a glint she hated but something she now missed about him.
Phoebe shifted a bit on her feet, looking down before taking a deep breath, “I just wanted to tell you that I’m so sorry.” She told him, chewing the inside of her cheek. Max continued to look at her glassy eyed, the tunnel door open and lit up. He didn’t say anything in response, he stood un-moving, almost not even blinking. Due to the lack of response she continued to speak, “I didn’t mean for your relationship to end.” She spoke softly, looking at him with sad, glossy eyes.
Max had taken a few steps down, now on the same level as Phoebe, he stared at her. His blank eyes were looking into her regret filled ones, his expression was neutral, he showed no emotion. His lips parted a bit, he cleared his throat, almost like he hadn’t spoken in a while. He blinked at Phoebe, “They ended things with me, it’s over, me and them are done.” He told her something she already knew, his voice was flat, monotone. “I will never get them back, and I wish I could blame you entirely.” He continued on, hands at his sides. “I can’t though, because it’s my fault too. Either way, whether it’s majority yours or majority mine, it doesn’t matter.” He expressed to her, head moving a bit to the side, voice hollow, eyes with no shine. “We don’t have to like each other or even try for their sake because they’re gone, so stop.” He finished, turning and deciding to just go down the stairs to his lair, not in the mood to go down the slide.
The girl watched him walk down the stairs to his room, blinking back her tears, nodding at his words. She tried to take a breath but a struggling sob came out instead. Her hands were clenching, nails digging so deep into her palms she could’ve drawn blood. She really didn’t know that you had affected him so much.
It was Thursday morning, a weekday, a school day. Max and Phoebe had been going to school, Phoebe just went earlier and Max tended to show up at the normal time so they wouldn’t walk together. Phoebe was the student body president so she had to show up early anyways that day for a meeting with the student body, you were a part of the student body.
When she walked in, she tried looking for you, wanting to apologize because here you couldn’t avoid her. You had been avoiding the twins since Saturday, moving away from them in the halls, carrying all your supplies so you wouldn’t have to stop at your locker, eating lunch somewhere Phoebe couldn’t find anywhere.
The room was filled with all the members and Phoebe sat at the table in the front, but she didn’t see you. She noticed Flunky looking at her intensely but shrugged it off, the blonde tended to do that alot so she wasn’t concerned about it. The time hit the start of the meeting so she began, speaking of ideas and changes they could make, asking for suggestions.
Flunky had stood up with a folder, he brought it to her table where she, the vice president, the secretary, and etc all were sitting. Phoebe took hold of it and saw your name on it, “Why do you have their folder?” She asked with a raised brow, tone unimpressed as she held it in her hand, not opening it.
“They told me to present it to you since they wouldn’t be present today.” The boy had spoken seriously as if he were some sort of agent. He tried to stand tall even though he was the shortest one there, his chin tilted up.
“They won’t be here?”
“Correct.”
“Will they be at school?”
“Yes.”
“Why won’t they come to the meeting?”
“I can not disclose that information.”
“You don’t know, do you?” Phoebe asked him with a raised brow, the folder long passed over to the vice president who looked over it. Flunky pursed his lips and nodded, looking down and turning to sit back down.
Phoebe puffed air in her cheeks and mumbled an ‘okay’, continuing the meeting. She spoke about the ideas you had in the folder, truly appreciative that you still contributed even though you were ignoring her.
The moment that the bell rang for students to go to their lockers before first period, Flunky had jumped up and rushed out of the room. This action was weird to Phoebe because usually Flunky would put on his sunglasses and try flirting with her, though she turned him down. She didn’t think about it much, she was thinking about far more important things, but Flunky not bothering her gave her a moment of peace.
Flunky had rushed to the lockers, standing in front of one with his arms crossed. He was looking around with suspicious eyes, they were narrowed and gazing at every person who crossed his path.
You walked up and Flunky moved a bit, letting you get to your locker. You smiled a bit at how serious he was taking all this and opened your locker. “Hi Flunky.” You greeted, placing your stack of items into the locker. You didn’t feel like carrying everything around today, you had a project so you needed that to be taken care of.
Flunky greeted you with a head nod, still looking around. You asked if he could be a ‘bodyguard’ of sorts so that you wouldn't have to keep going to such extremes to avoid the two people who continuously tried talking to you. Flunky agreed without you even having to explain, not letting anyone talk to you while you were at your locker, his hands clasped in front of him, standing stiffly. You were organizing your locker, placing everything you had been carrying around in their respective places since you hadn’t used the locker in quite a bit.
You felt your ears twitch a bit at the sound of footsteps nearing you, you paid no mind to it, everyone was going to their lockers. You paid no mind until you heard Flunky clear his throat, “Hey.” He spoke simply, deepening his voice to be more intimidating.
“Hey…Flunky.”
That voice, you recognized it. The tone was extremely uninterested in the blonde in front of them. Your head snapped up to stare at the back of your locker, you didn’t dare to turn because if you did you knew you would end up talking to the person.
You heard the shuffling of feet, Flunky was following every move that the person had made. There was an exasperated sigh, “Flunky, move.” The male voice spoke. It was Max, your suspicions confirmed. You tried to put things into your locker a little faster, still not turning to look at him.
Flunky shook his head, arms crossed, “Can't do that.” He spoke simply, eyes looking straight into Max’s. Max shook his head, pinching the bridge of his nose before looking back up and looking over the younger boy's shoulder, “Please, talk to me.” He spoke to you, his voice directed to you had caused you to freeze.
His voice was quieter, he sounded tired. You couldn’t face him, you wouldn’t, if you had turned you felt as if you would crumble. He always had that effect on you, the effect to just stay if you looked in his eyes long enough. You whispered silent thank yous to Flunky within your head, grateful you had come up with the idea the afternoon before.
“Flunky, I’m serious, move.” Max spoke, a slight hint of desperation in his voice.
“I’m serious too.” The younger had told him, standing in front of you, your backs to one another. “They don’t want to talk to you, clearly.” Flunky had let him know, tilting his head a bit. If you had really not minded Max talking to you, you would’ve turned around and told him that, but you didn’t. Since you didn’t, Flunky was going to keep being a protector of some sort.
Max blew air out his nose, eyes narrowed, “Move.” He spoke through gritted teeth, trying not to have an outburst so early in the morning, especially around you. Flunky didn’t change position, “Max, you’re my friend.” Flunky spoke, the comment causing Max to light up a bit, “But they do not want to talk to you, so you need to go.”
Max sighed, nodding, “Okay.” He spoke quietly, kicking the ground a bit. “Yeah, I get it.” He spoke once more, turning around, “I’ll leave you alone.” He told you specifically, now walking off to whatever his first class was.
You didn’t realize you were so tense, your hands were gripping the folder you were putting away so tightly that crescent shaped dents were in it. You dropped the folder, closing your locker, relaxing your body and putting your head on the cold metal. Flunky turned to you, his serious demeanor softening. He placed a hand on your back, rubbing circles into it, “Let’s get to class.” He told you, grabbing your project for you.
The very next day, Friday, you had asked Flunky not to be your protector. He did great at his job, but you felt it hurt a little more to be able to hear them talking rather than just tell them to go away. Flunky had understood, telling you to come find him if you changed your mind and you had agreed.
After your club at the end of the day, you went to your locker to put everything away. Neither of the twins had tried to talk to you that day, you would say it felt refreshing but, losing your friends wasn’t a good feeling. It felt nice for a moment though, just the quiet, not having to worry about it.
The world worked against you because the moment you closed your locker and turned around, you were met face to face with Phoebe Thunderman, someone you definitely did not want to see.
You stared at her before walking in the direction of the school exit. She had noticed what you were trying to do and rushed in front of you, she held her hand out to stop you from walking, “Wait!” She expressed, eyes distressed as they looked deep into yours. You had no idea why you stopped walking, why you made eye contact with her, why you decided to stand and for some reason hear her out.
You had inhaled, rolling your eyes, “The two of you just don’t quit.” You mumbled to yourself, shaking your head. Phoebe was slightly confused at the comment, unsure of what you meant but she shrugged it off. She puffed air into her cheeks, trying to figure out where to start with the conversation, her fingers playing with the bracelet on her wrist.
You stood there, impatiently. You were tapping your foot, looking at the clock as if you had somewhere to be. You didn’t. Phoebe had noticed your body language and decided to just spit out whatever she was trying to say.
“You don’t have to forgive me.”
“Yes, I know.”
Your curt response made her deflate a bit, but she built her courage back a bit, looking down. “At least forgive him.” She told you, eyes meeting yours once more, hair in her face a bit, a frown on her face. You struggled to keep eye contact, she looked so hopeless, for lack of a better word. She had dark circles under her eyes and her eyes were glossed over with tears. You tried to open your mouth to speak but Phoebe just continued, trying to get everything out.
She swallowed hard, “He has been a mess since you guys broke up.” She spoke, her voice breathy as she blinked hurriedly, keeping her tears back. “He won’t eat,” She began, holding a finger up to count, “he’s in his lair all the time,” she continued, “he’s destroyed because of this.” She told you, lips parted, trying to speak more but her mouth soon closed.
She remembered that night, last week, when Max had cried in front of her. When he cried over you, tried to text you over and over again. When he said ‘Thank you Phoebe for showing me which one of us was evil. Because you really proved that it’s not me.’ She had thought about every nasty comment she ever told you about him and she felt the sharp blade of her words go through her chest. Every comment she remembered she would remember how hurt Max had looked, she had never seen him cry over something like this, she’d never seen him so vulnerable.
Phoebe licked her lips, sniffling a bit, “When I saw him crying over you,” she spoke, the words caused your eyes to snap to her. He was crying over you? You had never seen him cry before, you guys were close, but he always had a smile or smirk on his face when you saw him. “it hurt.” Phoebe continued, now messing with the bottom of her shirt. She looked as if she was zoning out, remembering things you couldn’t, gazing to the floor as she spoke. “It hurt to see my brother like that.” She told you, now looking up at you again. You stood as still as a statue, you didn’t know what to say.
“I didn’t know how much he loved you.” She sniffled, biting the inside of her cheek, “I didn’t know he loved you at all.”
There was silence from you, when she looked at you she couldn’t tell what your expression was. She didn’t know if she just made things worse or better, but she wanted to tell you so at least you would know.
She relaxed a bit, “I’m sorry for all those things I said.” She apologized,  “I didn’t realize that he cares about you more than anyone else in this world.” The words spilled out of her mouth easily, you were avoiding them so she was sure that Max didn’t get a chance to tell you. She wanted to fix this since she was the one who caused it, “Please, go talk to him.” She begged, a hand placing itself gently on your shoulder, you didn’t flinch away.
There was silence once again and she nodded. She patted your shoulder and began to walk away, “I’m sorry again.” Was the final thing she had said, walking out the school doors.
You breathed out a sigh of relief, your chest felt tight, you gripped it with your hand trying to breathe. You fluttered your eyes in rapid blinks, you felt as if the entire school just closed on you. So much information was dumped on you, you didn’t know how much this had affected the two. Phoebe was not the kind of person to apologize for the sake and concern of her brother, ever, and she was practically begging you to talk to him because he was hurt. So much was running through your mind that before you knew it, you were on your way to the Thunderman household before you could even think it through.
You knocked on the familiar red door, dancing on your heels a bit. You wondered who would answer it, if it was Max, you would probably sputter on the spot. If it was one of his parents, you’d be able to talk to them quite easily.
As you thought about it, the door had opened a bit. The smaller boy with brown hair had looked up to you and tilted his head, his little sister now next to him. You didn’t expect your breath to hitch when you saw the two younger siblings of Max, you didn’t expect to be nervous when you saw the two.
You waved slightly with an awkward smile, “Hey. “ You greeted them, your void airy. They said small greetings in response and you danced on your heels once again, “Is Max home?” You asked the two and they shook their heads.
Billy shook his head and Nora tilted her head, “He never came home.” Nora explained to you with a shrug.
Max wasn’t home, you weren’t sure where you could find him. You were trying to think under the watchful eye of the young children in front of you until you had a bit of an idea. You lit up a bit and told the two thank you, going to walk down the driveway.
“Are you still angry at him?” The small girl's voice suddenly spoke out, and you turned to her. The door was still open, the two were leaning forward a bit to look at you. You walked back to them, frowning a bit, “I was upset with him, but I’m not angry.” You explained to them honestly, shaking your head as you spoke.
Billy moved the ball in his hand, they must’ve been playing another game. This ball however was a little singed in the middle, you tried not to question it. “Were you sad?” He asked you and you nodded slightly, the reaction made him frown, “Max was sad too.” He told you.
“Really sad.” Nora added onto it.
You tilted your head with sad eyes but a bit of a smile, you took hold of their hands gently, the two were pouting ever so slightly. “I’m going to try to make him feel better.” You reassured the two who gently smiled at you.
Nora picked her head up a bit, “Do you still like him?” she asked you, her bow moving over slightly. The air between the three of you was quiet, still. You adjusted her bow for her, standing and brushing yourself off.
“Yeah, I still like him.”
You had walked away from the smaller Thundermans and began walking to an area you didn’t know the directions to that well. You took about four wrong turns but eventually you reached the building. The familiar broken glass and dust reached your line of sight, causing you to relax and grin. You walked to the other side of the room you entered, climbing a ladder to the roof.
When your head had popped out and you felt the air gently blow against your face, the chill caused warmth to spread through your cheeks. You looked around a bit and saw a figure sitting with their knees to their chest, Max, he didn’t notice you. You pulled yourself up onto the roof, walking over carefully and quietly, “I thought I’d find you here.” You spoke gently, standing next to him.
He looked up and you thought you would be met with the warm brown eyes you were used to, but his face was sullen, his eyes were puffy, his expression slightly vacant. Your grin had fallen into a frown, you didn’t realize how tired he was, how upset he was.
You sat next to him quietly, hugging your knees as you looked out to the sky. The sun was setting, it was getting colder, the air between the two of you was tense. You didn’t know what to say, you had found him, but now what?
He cleared his throat, rubbing his eyes with arm, hiding his face from you a bit, “I didn’t expect you.” He mumbled to you, his voice hoarse, scratchy. You looked over with sad eyes, “I know.” You muttered back and he just looked forward. “You know…” He began, sniffling a bit, “No one else comes here, just us.” He slightly explained to you.
The thought of having a place to yourselves spread warmth into your chest. You couldn’t smile at the feeling though, because even though he had said ‘us’, he was here by himself originally. He had been by himself for days, ever since you left last week. It broke your heart to see him like this, it broke your heart to see him.
“Phoebe told me that-“ You began, unsure of how to continue but Max beat you to the punch. “I looked a mess?” He asked, and you nodded, humming in response to confirm.
He shook his head, chuckling a bit, “She's such a snitch.”
You laughed a bit with him at the comment and scrunched your nose. “Well, her snitching got me here.” You told him, placing your cheek on your knees, looking at him. He nodded, leaning back on his hands, still looking straight forward. “I guess I should thank her.” He spoke, slightly nodding as he spoke before tilting her head, “Maybe in a letter after I’m dead, but I'll thank her anyways.” He told you, and the both of you bursted into laughter.
You nodded, lifting your head, “There’s my Max.” You spoke, looking at the sky with a soft smile. It had gotten darker, but not dark enough that the sky was black. The sky was a light orange and pink, the moon already up.
Max had stopped laughing, extending his legs, looking away from you. “Am I your Max?” He asked you quietly, unsure of where this conversation would lead.
Your mouth had gone dry, you didn’t look at him. You had begun to mess with your hands that were holding your knees to your chest. You soon relaxed your legs, sitting in a cross-legged position. You sighed, feeling a pain in your side causing you to jolt up. He looked over at you at your motion in concern, your eyes met his, and this time his expression was attentive, he saw you instead of seeing through you. To be fair, he always saw you, you were the only one he cared enough to pay more attention to.
You hummed, rubbing your neck a bit, “I think we could work through some stuff.” You muttered to him, hand slowly reaching to his, but it was so subtle, you almost couldn't tell your hand was moving. He kept his eyes on you, never looking away. You haven’t been this close to him in days and he missed seeing your side profile, he missed seeing you near him. He missed you. “I think no matter what, you’ll always somehow be my Max.” you spoke honestly, eyes flickering to him, creating a string of eye contact.
Max smiled gently, eyes moving down, seeing your hand reaching to his. He slowly interlaced your fingers together, electricity running through the both of you at the contact. When he looked back at you, you had moved a bit closer, just so the two of you would be shoulder to shoulder, your interlocked fingers on your lap.
Max blinked a bit, searching your eyes, mouth opening a bit as if he wanted to say something. He didn’t. You tilted your head, “What is it?” You asked him, fingers moving slightly to grab his attention as he studied your face as if he would forget.
The brown haired boy looked away to the sky, hand still holding yours, “Being in my house is always so suffocating.” He spoke quietly, you were listening to the certain vocabulary. “You were always a breath of fresh air, when I’m not around you I feel like I can’t breathe.” He told you, choking up a bit, blinking back the tears. You had to tighten your grip on his hand to show him you were still there and he nodded.
“Before we started dating, before you became friends with Phoebe…” He paused, sucking his teeth with a frown. There was a long pause, a pensive expression taking over him. “I couldn’t help but want to love you.” He finally spoke, the words almost stopped your breathing. “But, I felt like everytime I tried I just was overwhelming to you.” He explained, looking over to you, and you got a good look at him once again. His eyes were watery, brows furrowed, legs shifting a bit. His face was flushed, tears pricked at the corners of his eyes and his voice trembled as he asked you, “Was I overwhelming?”
You shook your head quickly, a plethora of ‘No’s escaping your lips as you held his hand with both of yours. Your voice was assertive as you spoke your no’s, one hand reaching up and wiping the end corners of his eyes. Your posture had straightened and you blinked rapidly, jaw tightening, “You weren’t overwhelming, I wasn’t trying to pull away from you.” You tried to explain.
“Why did it feel like that then?”
“I don’t know Max.” You told him, voice softer now. “I really like being around you.”
He looked away again, this time to the roof the two of your were sitting on, “You mean you liked being around me.”
Your mouth closed, his heartbroken tone had whisked you into silence. You shifted in your seat, once again trying to find the words to express how you were feeling at the moment. “I was upset,” you began.
“I’m sorry.” He spoke, so exasperated, so exhausted. He was so extremely apologetic, his eyes began to fill with tears once more but you stopped him, cupping his face gently. He relaxed at your touch.
“I still like being around you Max, I still like you.” You told him honestly, hoping your expression mirrored how you were feeling.
Max was looking at your face, nuzzling into your hands, “I want to fix things.” He mumbled to you, his now vacant hands finding their way to your waist. “I’m not perfect I know,” He expressed to you, shaking his head, “but you are.”
The words made you put your forehead to his, “I’m not.”
“You are to me.”
You laughed breathily, kissing his forehead. Your lips were soft against his skin that had warmed up due to your touch. “We all have imperfections and your imperfections are why I love you.” You spoke gently, pulling away, looking into your eyes.
His eyes glistened with light and you saw the glint of mischief in his eyes that you missed so dearly. His expression was soft, loving, his hands gentle to your waist as he pulled you closer. He leaned in and kissed you, pulling your waist and tilting his head to deepen the kiss. Your face warmed but you moved your hands cupping his cheeks to gently move your fingers through the hair at the nape of his neck.
He pulled apart for a moment, his brown eyes shining with moonlight as he breathed heavily, “I love you too.”

Home for Holidays
Monster! 141 (mostly Soap) x Hybrid female Reader (jackalope/wendigo)
This is a continuation of the previous fanfic on my page. The only context you need it that the reader is teenager. Mentions @diejager reader character Hunter and is based on designs by @bluegiragi
CW/TW: Mentions of trauma, abuse, family trauma, punishment, origins of wendigo, crying, angst, let me know if I’ve missed anything.
Soon enough Holidays come around and there are no signs of your handler returning to base. Which means you’ll likely be alone on base on the holidays. It’s not the first time so that’s okay but you do get jealous when plans are brought up in conversation.
“So what’ll you be doin lass?” Johnny asks. His friendly face becomes a small frown when you shrug.
“Maybe I’ll just stay on base with Ghost…not sure what else there is. Nowhere to go really…” You say shrugging. Johnny’s brother side comes out in full swing, not just for you but for Simon as well. He knows Simon uses the holidays for his own needs, and doesn’t really stay on base the whole time. Leaving you behind didn’t feel fair to him. Not only that but it’s not fair to you, to have to sit in your room by yourself bored out of your mind.
Johnny makes some calls after that and soon learns there’ll be some paperwork but he doesn’t care. It’ll be worth it.
Nikolai comes to pick people up to take home, and Johnny has you already packed and it basically bouncing on your bed to get you to wake up.
“Come on wheels up lass!”
He’s carrying the duffel you had when you came and hands it to you.
“But-“ you’re half awake as you try to protest.
“No questions. Come on.” He says and you both get on the helicopter. Rudy and Alejandro say good bye to you before you leave and give you a gift to open on Christmas as does Gaz and Price. Ghost sees you off and you tell him you hope he enjoys the privacy.
Johnny takes you to his hometown, and when you land he explains that he made some calls home. And then to Laswell, and the program and few others to make sure everything was sorted.
“Ma didn wantya to be alone. Just know you’ll be put to work still…got dat?” You nod and he takes you to his house after you land, where you meet Soap’s mother and Soap’s older brother. His mother comments a bit on your appearance saying you look a little pale and could afford to put on a couple pounds. Soap gives her a look but you shake it off saying you have been. She gives you a warm smile and helps you find your room.
You have a good time on your leave and it feels a little odd to you. Your family was way different, but Johnny’s is cozy and kind and teasing. You join in on jabs at him, and help around the house as best you can, learning more basic skills like cooking and chopping wood. Johnny takes you to a few different places around, along with his brother, and you even meet a couple of his football buddies. They’re friendly and tell you some stories about Johnny. They ask about the ears and antlers. Johnny lets you answer how you choose, whether it’s as a jackalope or a wendigo. At some point he leaves you with his friends to take care of something and when he comes back, he sees you talking and having a good conversation with them. It’s hard to imagine you were once this simple, shy, apologetic kid and now you had grown into a friendly, healthy teenager.
One night you and Johnny take a minute to relax on a bench before continuing your walk home. The two of you had just left his friend and their partner at a store, and the walk home would be long. Johnny could handle walking in the dark but wanted you to be safe too. You both look out at the street lit up by garlands of lights and shop windows. It was good to finally take a break after all the walking around. You watch people go by and notice body language you didn’t often see on base. Couples holding hands, kids running and skipping, snowballs being thrown, parents swinging their kids. You lean against your knees, following Johnny’s sitting position.
“Are all families like this?” You ask. Johnny notices where you had been looking and shrugs.
“Nah all of em. The good ones are.” Johnny ponders for a moment before inquiring. “Take it you didn ave that.”
You shake your head.
“Wha were they like?” He asks. You go very quiet, and he pays closer attention. It’s not an easy subject, your parents were mean and obsessive over your hybrid features. You were outcasted and isolated. Christmas was a rough time, as you would see people happy outside but never felt the same way.
“…they…they used to yell at me. Sometimes hit me.” You confessed. Johnny looks at you. “It kept escalating… sometimes it was burns or no food for a day. Then one day they grounded me and put me in the basement.” You pause for a shaky breath feeling your throat tighten up. Johnny lets you continue at your own pace. “They gave me raw meat and told me there was nothing else…”
You’re shaking recalling the horrid memory of how you became a wendigo. Your family wasn’t normal and your parents weren’t sane. You only found out how insane they were when it was too late. How cultish they could be.
Johnny doesn’t need you to finish, and instead moves closer to you on the bench and holds you tight. The tears just come down and you nestle into his winter jacket. You feel a gloved hand on your head keeping you close.
“You didn do anythin wrong.” He tells you over and over, tucking your head under his chin. “You’re a good kid. Don’ forgae ‘at.”
You finally pull away after a while and he asks if you’re ready to keep going. You nod, he gives you his arm to cling to while you head home. There are still tears but your face is stinging from the cold, and you’d rather be inside. Johnny tries to change the subject or make some jokes with you. He gets a couple giggles for his dad jokes. When you finally get back, Johnny’s mother notices your tears and gets you some water. She doesn’t ask about it and lets her son handle everything while you curl up on the couch with him watching Die Hard.
You feel more and more comfortable snuggling up to Soap, and he you. He’s taken to calling you ‘pup’ and ‘whelp’. When you walk in to relax with him he offers to shift for you so you can have a soft pillow to rest against. It doesn’t take long before his brother and mother are friendly with you too, spending some alone time with them as well. His mother has taken a shine to you, often asking for some help in the kitchen or showing you cute videos she found online. There’s a couple of Facebook posts usually involving the Grinch or Peanuts cartoons that you find cute, and smile at.
His mom expresses concern multiple times about your wardrobe, noticing you wear the same items in a row.
“If ya wouldna mind me askin dear, didn ya wear that shirt yesterday?”
“Y-yes. Is that bad?” You ask.
“No no of curse not, it’s a nice shirt, but doncha ave other clothes?” She asks. When you shake your head she sets down whatever she is working on. It doesn’t take long for her to check if any of her sons’ old clothes will fit you. The clothes are a little baggy on you, even with the couple extra pounds you’ve gained while staying there but they’ll work. Especially since they’ll likely get torn anyways when you back to base. Honestly his mother is glad they’ll be put to use, and they’re some of the few clothes she has that are intact since Johnny’s form often rips his clothing.
Christmas Eve comes around and Soap is up early for his workout and his mother is up for her meal prep.
“Aye ma? Canna ask you somethin?” Soap asks quietly, not wanting to wake you or give you the chance to hear him.
“Yes?”
“Whatcha think of the lass?”
She takes a moment to think about it.
“Lovely child. Takes after ya a bit moore than I’d like.” She teases. Johnny smiles before unloading a bit on to his mother. “They don’t ave anywhere else to go after this, unless Price keeps em. So it got me thinkin uhh…” his tail twitches awkwardly as she takes note of his tone. His mom has seen how her sons’ tails react when they get a certain way. Before he can ask she answers the question.
“I think ya need to think this over some more. I wouldna mind it… but she’s got as much of a say as you do. Honestly she’s a lovely lass, and I know you’ve taken a shine to her. More than a shine, yer practically her brother. You’ve told me what she is, and I have no qualms but ya better be here for her too. I’m not dealin’ with a hybrid under my roof, alone and at my age.”
“I will ma, thank you.” Johnny decides to bring it up later when you guys head back to base.
Christmas comes and it’s overwhelming for someone unused to large close gatherings. Johnny and his brother make it a habit for at least one of them to stay close to you. Their relatives ask tou questions and get to know you. You don’t unload like you did with Johnny, but when your past comes up you do respond.
“Well my adoptive parents were pretty bad, so after that my social worker put me in the program for rehabilitation and relocation I guess.”
When you get the chance you slip away to take a breath, and relax a bit. The whole situation is crazy after being on a such an isolated family. The holidays weren’t exactly great for you, and sometimes you were alone to open gifts by yourself. The gifts were strange too, often in the form of weird books and strange toys. Looking back, to any normal person the gifts should have been red flags. Johnny finds you soon enough, and asks if you just want some time to yourself.
“This is normal? Spending holidays like this?” You ask. He nods.
“Never got ‘at back ‘ome.”
You shake your head. Johnny isn’t one to show vulnerability but damn you make it hard.
“Fairly normal. You open your gifts yet?” He asks. “Come on we’re about to start opening them.”
You get up and follow him, carrying the gifts you got from the 141 into the living room, and sit down. Anyone seeing the scene would know you were out of place, as everyone was either human or a werewolf. Johnny’s mom sits by you, and has a gift for you too. You open it and you laugh, finding a hoodie for Johnny’s favourite football team. Johnny looks over and basically cheers seeing the hoodie. The gifts from the team are a journal and some stationary and a sketchbook. They’re simple gifts sure but they’re better than anything you had gotten before. They were yours.
Next couple days you spend collecting and drawing around the area. You take the journal everywhere, writing about the things you see and draw your own ideas.
During a visit to a restaurant you notice some humans and draw them as hybrids, giving them tails and wings. Any common or ugly looks from other humans go ignored as you focus on the pencils and paper before you.
Your journal gets filled with cards, photos, stickers, scribbles and a couple of miscellaneous items you find like leaves, flowers and feathers. It’s not long before items are poking out from between the pages marking your progress. You write plenty of thoughts, and even a couple stories about the items you find.

― 𝐑𝐄𝐃 𝐑𝐎𝐒𝐄 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐒𝐇𝐀𝐑𝐏 𝐓𝐇𝐎𝐑𝐍𝐒
▸ There was one thing Gaara thought that he liked among the darkness.
▸It happened to be [Name], the daughter of the owner of the local florist in Suna.
▸To the little redhead, [Name] had been light when he was shunned by everyone, even his own family, who were scared of him.
▸She was the reason he lived.
▸Offeriong him sweet candies secretly whenever she could or offering to teach him about the flowers in the shop.
▸When her parents decided to travel the world when [Name] was old enough, she took over the shop.
▸At the same time he became the Kazekage.
▸Gaara continued to woo her so that he could win her affection.
▸He didn't succeed until the tailed beast was separated from him, making him more rational.
▸Without the beast, his obsession grew but didn't leak that would make [Name] run away from him.
▸Gaara and [Name], would be forever together.
You stepped on the hard tiles of your shared home as softly as possible to not alert a certain redhead.
Only to open the door to your bedroom to see Gaara with his arms crossed.
His sea-green eyes seemed too intense as they gazed upon you, making you cringe and step back.
"Where were you?" Gaara asked, his tone was calm but underneath that facade was a possessive man who didn't want you to stay away from him.
"You left without telling me." His tone tune accusatory making you gulp as your mind raced to what you could say to him.
"I just wanted some... some fresh air." Your voice turned timid as you finished the sentence making those cold green eyes soften to a degree.
"You know how dangerous the world is right?" When you nod, he continues: "Don't go without informing or I won't be able to protect you."
He wanted to have some ninjas guard you from the shadows but betrayal was easy, especially among humans, he thought about how his friend Naruto had summoning frogs and thought he should also do the same.
"You wanted fresh air right, let's go." Gaara dragged your body into his arms and held you close.
The relationship was nice in the beginning, you felt flattered that such a high-ranked man wanted you.
Soon, you realised that the rose too had its thorns.
You were isolated and while you were introverted in nature, it didn't mean you absolutely disliked every human interaction.
There were some people you liked but in the end, even they drifted apart because of Gaara who used all the tactics so you could only rely on him.
With everyone running away in fear, your flower shop was forced to be closed making you rely on Gaara even more now that he had the power in the monetary terms as well.
There was no space for you, you thought to yourself.
Then a hand gripped your wrist tightly making you wince.
"Who are you thinking about?" The dark undertone in Gaara's voice made you shiver and he tightened the grip on your wrist.
"No one." You replied trying to get back your wrist which was now hurting.
"Really?"
Seeing you nod, Gaara loosened the grip on your hand and you could see the skin become bruised under the harsh grip.
The redhead clicked his tone as he gently brushed his fingers on the dark bruise on your wrist
"See, how will you live without me?"
He loved you too much, he could not let you go.
Gaara would never let you go.

2006
“Dad!” You were quick to run down the stairs when you’d heard the door open. Bruce took notice to you as soon as you bounded up to him and the smile on his face was one that always made you happy to see. Alfred walked up next to you, greeting Bruce silently.
“Hello, (Y/N), what were you up to while I was gone?” He asks.
“Well, I finally cleaned my room,” you rocked on your heels.
“Very good.”
“Alfred taught me how to play Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star on the piano.”
“I have to hear that.”
“And I played a little, but that’s it,” you gave him an exaggerated nod and he smiles.
“That’s good, (Y/N),” he smiles. “Now, I have a surprise for you,” he says. Your eyes widened with a childish excitement. Then, from behind him, an older boy steps out.
“Hiya,” he waves. You step back, head ducking down in shyness while you looked up at your dad. “I’m Dick, you must be (Y/N), right?” He steps forward, bending down to meet your eyes. You nodded carefully before running to your dad. You hid behind his leg and he rubs your head gently.
“He’ll be staying with us from now on,” your father explains. “You’re always saying how lonely it is here, right? He’s a bit older than you, but you’ll be spending a lot more time together,” your father urges you to step out and introduce yourself. Dick, still at your level, smiles softly.
“I heard a lot about you, (Y/N),” he says, “and if you’re okay with it, I hope we can become friends,” he reaches out to shake your hand, but you shy further behind your father.
“She’s usually not this shy,” your dad says above you.
“I think we just need to get to know each other more,” Dick responds. He leans over so he can meet your gaze and waves again. You hid your face.
“Alfred will help you get settled in, Dick, let me know if you need help with anything,” your dad says and Dick nods at him before following Alfred upstairs. After a while, Bruce stepped away from you slowly. “(Y/N),” his voice had a stern, but gentle tone.
“Dad…” you matched his tone.
“What’s wrong? You told me you wanted someone to talk to,” he crouches down to your level and you hid your hands behind your back.
“I know…” your voice was quiet.
“So, what’s wrong then?” He asks. It’s true. You’d long been asking for a friend, and while both of your parents would spend time with you, it simply wasn’t enough. Your dad was always busy doing business stuff, some adult things you didn’t understand no matter how many times uncle Lucius tried to explain it to you. And your mom was… well, something. She had to make a living by “borrowing” things, but strangely enough she never gave them back. You really just wanted someone to talk to, someone who you could play with, or someone you could spend time with. Someone your age, someone who didn’t keep secrets.
Your parents acted like you didn’t know, but you knew something was up. There were nights where your dad would leave saying he needed to get groceries and then come home with no groceries. Your mom would leave saying she’s meeting a friend and would come back with a bag full of her latest ‘shopping spree.’ But you knew they were hiding something, and as much as they told you that secrets were bad, they had so many, you had a feeling. So you wanted a friend, someone who was just like you.
And now you had one. But, something about it felt… wrong.
“Nothing,” you shook your head. The boy he brought home, he seemed friendly enough, and you were curious about him. But you couldn’t ignore this strange feeling in your chest. “Where did he come from?”
“Remember that circus you wanted to go to?”
“Mmhmm.”
“He’s from there.”
“Then… where are his parents?” Bruce hesitated.
“They’re off for a while, and they asked me to watch their son for now,” he says.
“They didn’t want to take him with them?”
“No, where they’re going is not meant for kids like you and him,” he explains. “So, for a while, he’ll be staying with us. Why don’t you get to know him, (Y/N)?”
“What if I don’t like him? Will you return him and get a new one?”
“That’s not exactly how this works, (Y/N),” your father laughs. “If you don’t like him at first, you’re going to have to learn how to get along with him somehow,” he says.
“Okay…” you mumbled.
“Why wouldn’t you like him, (Y/N)?”
“I dunno,” you shrugged.
“Exactly, go talk to him, be friendly,” Bruce encourages you.
“Okay,” you nodded your head and Bruce smiles before shaking your shoulder softly.
“Good, I’m going to get cleaned up, why don’t you say ‘Hello’ to Dick on your way up? He’s in the room across from you.”
“I will,” you nodded again and ran up the stairs.
You stopped in front of Dick’s room, the door was open and he was speaking to Alfred, quickly you hid behind the wall, not wanting to get caught by the old man. But it was their conversation that kept you hidden.
“Now, Master Grayson,” Alfred’s voice was stern, you’d only heard him speak like that to your father on occasion and you when you stole sweets. “Miss (Y/N) doesn’t know.”
“Really?”
“This must be kept a secret between you, me, and Master Bruce.” Secret? Well, that’s not fair. You wanted to know too. So much for a friend who didn’t keep secrets. There were so many around you, you were starting to think that you should keep secrets just to be like everyone else.
“And she never suspected?”
“She is only seven, Master Grayson, and not usually here on weekends,” Alfred sighs. “Master Bruce asks that you be careful.”
“Yeah, okay,” Dick’s voice was quiet. “Does he plan on telling her?”
“When she’s older, yes. When she can understand it.” Does it count as a secret still if they’ll tell you when you’re older? You’ll just have to hurry up and grow up then!
“Sure, I got it.”
But, still, that’s not fair. You wanted to know now. But when you heard Alfred approaching the door, you knew better than to let yourself get scolded for eavesdropping, so you ran to your room and closed the door only slightly, just enough to watch Alfred leave, and once he was gone, you crept across the hallway. Dick was busy placing his items across the room, you peeked in slowly, waiting to see if he’d notice you, and soon enough he did. He raised his hand to wave, but you ducked behind the door frame instead.
“Hi, (Y/N),” he waits for you to approach him.
“Hello,” you said quietly.
“It’s nice to meet you.”
“It’s nice to meet you too.”
“Did you… want to come in?” He asks. You shook your head and he nods with a tight lipped smile. But, soon, you nodded your head and Dick let out a short laugh. “Come on in, then,” he invites you. You walked inside and sat on the desk chair while he continued unpacking.
“I have a secret,” you blurted. Dick turned to you, eyebrow raised.
“What’s that?”
“I… I have a secret stash of candy in my room,” you answered. It was secret enough, you’d been building a bit of a stockpile now. Dick cracks a smile, looking somewhat relieved.
“That’s some secret there, who else knows?”
“Just you,” you nodded. “You can’t tell anyone.”
“Okay.”
“Promise?”
“Friendly secret,” he makes a zipper motion over his mouth.
“Hmm… okay, I trust you,” you hummed. Dick smiled again, this time a bit tighter.
“I’m leaving now,” you hopped off.
“That’s fine! Thanks for dropping by,” he says. You nodded your head and ran across the hall to your room.
Dick, meanwhile, took a deep breath.
This was not what he signed up for when he agreed to help Bruce.

2022
The beast roared and, above you, a storm started to roll in.
“Well, talk about about a warm welcome,” you glanced at Jason and he shook his head.
“(Y/N)?! We ran up as soon as we saw you leave!” Tim and Damian regroup with you and you usher them behind you. Tim looks at the monster.
“When you said monsters, for some reason I didn’t think you meant legitamate monsters,” he says.
“Cap!” Aldryn rushes out of the barracks, your rifle and rapier in hand.
“Aldryn, I need you to run back down, bring Tim and Jason with you. You two, grab what you think you all can use,” you instructed. “I’ll handle things up here until you return, we’re going to need all hands on deck.”
“Yes, ma’am!” Aldryn salutes and waits for them to join him before rushing off again.
“Damian, I need you on crowd control,” you looked at him.
“What?! I can help!”
“Too bad, this is an order from your superior,” your voice was stern, and it took him aback, “crowd control. Make sure everyone is a safe distance away, am I clear?” You waited for his response.
“Yeah,” he nodded his head curtly before running off. You readied your rapier.
“Alright… let’s see what we’re working with,” you sprinted forward and the beast reached for you.
It’s going to be long day.
“Where are we going?” Tim asks.
“Weapons barracks,” Aldryn responds, running in after Jason and Tim. Jason grabs his usual while Tim looks around. “What are you looking for? If you can think of it, we have it.”
“Do you have a bo-staff then?” He asks. Aldryn hums.
“Yes, but you’ll have to come with me. Marion was using it earlier,” he mumbles. He leads him and Jason to the elevator and they descend.
“What was that thing?” Jason asks.
“We call them Daemons,” Aldryn speaks quietly. “We’ve dealt with monsters before, but none like them. They’re on a whole other level of power and now, beause of them, we’re short staffed,” Aldryn’s voice was grim. “Not exactly the best first operation for you two but, Cap’s orders.” The conversation ends when the elevator doors slide open.
“Aldryn!” Marion was surprised to see him, but more surprised to see the two behind him. “Do they have clearance?”
“They’re about to fight one up there, so I’d say so, yes,” Aldryn nods.
“Holy shit, that’s one of them,” Jason eyes the beast in it’s cage. It snorts loudly but it becomes a low snarl.
“Don’t worry about this one, since it’s in here it won’t be hurting anyone,” Marion says.
“No time for introductions, but this one here will be joining your research team once things settle down,” Aldryn points at Tim.
“Right, well, I’m assuming the Captain sent you down here for a reason, right?” Marion’s and Aldryn’s conversation were the least of Jason and Tim’s worries though. Jason looked over at Tim, who was looking at the beast.
“What are you thinking of, Tim?”
“Look at it, it’s just there,” Tim says. “The one outside is raising hell. Why is this one complacent?”
“Maybe it’s got something to do with all that stuff stuck to its cage.”
“Or maybe there’s more to it then they know,” Tim glances at Aldryn and Marion before approaching the cage.
“Whoa, Tim! Do you got a death wish?” Jason grabs Tim’s shoulder.
“It’s fine, they said it can’t hurt us,” Tim shakes him off and Jason follows close behind. “Also… this one’s different.”
“Can you really say that? You’ve only ever seen one other one.”
“Jason, it’s looking at me.”
“Okay. Wolves look at rabbits, what’s your point?”
“I can’t really explain it,” Tim mumbles. He stares at the monster. And it stares back. Then, slowly, it moves its head down and closer to the edge of the cage to match Tim’s eye level.
“You! Get back right now!” Marion’s voice was shrill and Tim broke eye contact. “How did you get it to respond to you?!” She pulls him away.
“I… I just looked-”
“Just like the Captain,” she mutters. She looks at Aldryn before shoving the bo-staff into Tim’s hands. “We’ll talk about this later, the Captain needs you first.
“Right, yeah,” Tim nods shortly and Aldryn motions for them to leave. But Jason looks at the beast a bit longer. Come to think of it, Tim had a point. This one was different. And, before he left, Jason’s eyes moved down to the floor, looking at the disturbed section of it where Tim was standing seconds before. “Jason!”
“I’m coming, I’m coming,” Jason catches up with them.
And they returned just in time too.
“Ma’am!” Aldryn returns with your brothers as soon as you’d been pushed back from the blows. You moved the hair out of your face and caught your breath.
“Good. Aldryn, stay close to the Royal family, tell them I have it under control. If you run into any of the new recruits, tell them they’re on civilian duty,” you instructed. The Daemon roars again and a gust of wind blows behind it. Aldryn runs off.
“So, what do we do? Where are its weak points?” Tim asks.
“Their stomachs, maybe,” you answered.
“Maybe?!” Tim steps back when the Daemon finally takes notice of the group.
“Better a maybe than none,” you looked around.
“Captain! What’s the situation?” Eve appears next to you with the rest of the Brigade stepping out of the portal after. You pointed at the Daemon.
“Only one for now,” you mumbled.
“Holy shit it’s huge,” Nixon swallows harshly. You heard someone scream and your eyes scanned the courtyard. Then, you spotted Lowen cornered by yet another Daemon, noticeably smaller than the other one and with a visible streak of red fur running down from the top of it’s head to the tip of its tail. You hope that didn’t mean anything, nothing bad at least.
“Make it two, you all focus on this one, I’ve got the second!” You slung your rifle over your shoulder and readied your rapier while you ran over to him. “Lowen! Lower your head!” Lowen did so and you used the planter to boost your leverage before burying the rapier into the Daemon’s shoulder. The monster roared and tried to blindly grab at you, but you held your ground, holding your rifle with your other hand while clutching onto the handle of your sword and you pressed it to it’s other shoulder and pulled the trigger. The beast roared again before it grabbed your arm and threw you back where you came. You slid against the ground before slamming into the next planter and you groaned.
“Shake it off, Cap,” Carter pulls you up.
“Oh my god! Your arm!” Tim shouts, tearing his eyes away from the first Daemon for a second. You stand up and pick up your ripped-off arm.
“At least it threw both pieces,” Nixon winces when lightning struck a few paces away from him. You held it in place while the muscles reattached and, while it did, you felt every nerve reconnect and every muscle bind itself back together. The worst of it was to come, the bones were always the last to rebuild. You grit your teeth through the pain and once enough has reconnected you readied your rifle again, confidently holding it in one hand, and you fired it while aiming for the second Daemon’s foot, staggering it long enough for Lowen to scramble back.
“Oh, that is sick and twisted,” Jason looks away, holding his hand over his mouth and you readjusted the previous death grip on your rapier.
“No time for that, focus on the big one,” you ran back toward the second monster and Tim followed you. He dashed past you, stepping in front of Lowen just in time to counter the blow from the Daemon. “Tim! Hold your ground!”
“I’m trying!” Tim tightens his hold on the staff, his knuckles turning white from the pressure alone while Lowen stays frozen beneath him. You slide under the monster, your rapier piercing the Daemons stomach just enough for it to stagger back.
“Eve!”
“Got it!” Eve waves her hand toward your Daemon and in seconds it is held by down by an invisible force, but it fought back, it struggled against its restraints until it broke free and Eve lost her footing. It stood on its feet and locked its aim on you, it foamed at the mouth while it took heavy steps toward you and made grabbing motions toward you. Tim stood at your side all the way, staff now in front of you, when two shots rang out and Jason was next to step in front of you.
“Jay, you can’t take this in a fist fight,” you told him.
“I know,” he says. The beast snorts, looking Jason in the eye. It growls lowly. “Take the kid and go, I got this,” he says. You shook Lowen out of his fear and pulled him to safety. “Alright…” Jason continues his staredown of this monster, and never once did it stop. But there was this strange feeling he got from it, like it was familiar in a sense. Maybe this was what Tim felt earlier. Then, once a few magic circles surrounded it, the monster was debilitated and held in a prison of light.
“Go help the others with the big one,” Eve strains and Jason stares a her.
“You sure you’ve got it?.”
“I’ll manage,” she says while a bead of sweat rolls down the side of her face. She keeps her focus as best as she can, “but that one isn’t going down as quickly as this one did.” She takes deep breaths in attempt to hold it steady between portals, while behind her Nixon’s attacks seemed to deflect off of the bigger monster. Jason spots you running back, this time with your rifle, and you aimed it carefully before taking the shot. The bullet lodged itself into the monster’s shoulder right before it could swing at Nixon, and it stunned it long enough for him to make her escape.
“They’re getting stronger,” you commented. This one was stronger than five of those beasts you’d fought before put together. If it was taking most of the Brigade to subdue it, then that much was true.
~
2010
“Okay, I’ll help you once, alright?” Jason sighed and you grinned.
“Yes!”
“Here, put this on,” he shoves a bag toward you and you nodded excitedly before running out of the room. When you came back, your excitement shone through your mask.
“You can call me the Girl Wonder!” You threw your cape behind you and Jason snickered.
“Whoa, I’m shaking in my boots,” Jason teased and you pouted. “Wait, wait, it’s too big.”
“Of course, it’s too big, this was Dick’s costume right?” You rocked on your heels, and it became more apparent that the shoes were too big too. Jason tosses you your usual sneakers
“Put those on, let me see what I can do,” he walks around you before disappearing for a second and coming back with safety pins, “don’t move, or else I’m gonna poke you,” he adjusts the costume on the shoulders, he didn’t want to make any permanent alterations with something basically historic.
“You think there’s gonna be a day you and I are fighting bad guys together?” You asked while he pinched up the fabric at your shoulders.
“Who knows, maybe,” Jason shrugged, his words muffled by the safety pins held between his lips.
“That would be cool, Jason and (Y/N), maybe Dick too, right? And dad?”
“Sure,” he feeds into your fantasy. “Only if I’m with you, though. You might trip over your cape.”
“Not true!” Still, Jason finds a way to shorten the cape.
“Yes, true! Look at your floor There’s trash all over it!”
“I’ll pick it up later! Geez!” You argued, but you calmed down just as quickly. “That would be so cool though… I want to be just like you.”
“Nah, you’d be better,” Jason chuckles. “There you go, kiddo,” he tests the stability of it and, once he’s happy with it, he pulls the cape over your shoulders to hide the pins.
“Now what?”
“We go to Titan tower,” Jason gestures for you to follow him.
“Oh, dad says I’m not allowed on that,” you eyed the Robin Motorcycle and Jason rolls his eyes.
“Pssh, it’s fine, you’re with me,” he lifts you and secures you to the seat before climbing on behind you and shoving the helmet onto your head.
“Is this legal?” Your voice was muffled by the helmet.
“Don’t worry about the details!” He starts up the motorcycle.
“Are you wearing a helmet?!” Actually you were wearing his.
“Yeah,” he lied and off you went.
You’d been in the batmobile plenty of times, seen the city in it just as much, but seeing it this way was different. Everything seemed closer, like you could reach out and join whatever scene was there. With the wind blowing around you and your hands firmly grasped onto the bike, this felt amazing! You felt like you were flying, moving faster than even some of the other cars, and every now and then an excited laugh would escape you.
Maybe being a Robin wouldn’t be so bad?
“Alright, kiddo, we’re here,” Jason parks the bike and helps you off.
“You lied! You’re not wearing a helmet!” You pulled it off of your head and eyed the ‘R’ decal on the side.
“Yup, I did. Anyway, let’s set some ground rules,” Jason kneels so he can look at you in the eye, “you tell no one who you are, yeah? If anyone asks, you’re Robin, okay?”
“Why can’t I say my name?”
“It’s dangerous,” Jason explains, “and when you’re looking for Dick, you ask for Nightwing.”
“Is it also dangerous if they know his name?”
“Yes, very.”
“Okay,” you nodded and followed Jason to the side of the tower. He pulls the vent cover off and crawls in. So… maybe Jason wasn’t exactly allowed in Titan tower after a few misfortunate events that included him losing his cool and his temper. But, what can he do?
Dick really pissed him off.
But, that was beside the point. You wanted to see him, and this was the only way he could help you do that, so fuck it. Plus, with the majority of everyone's identities still being secret, he couldn't have you just waltzing in here anyway without him.
“Follow me.”
“This feels illegal.”
“Shh!”
“Okay, okay!” You followed him carefully and, after some twists and turns, Jason kicked out one of the vents and crawled out, helping you down too. You landed in some kind of lounge area, a large sofa in the middle.
“Wait here, Nightwing should be coming soon, I’ll wait for you outside,” Jason says before leaving the way he came. You sat on the couch, kicking your legs for a bit. Then you started playing with the end of your cape. The material was pretty comfy, actually, you could see yourself falling asleep in it easily. You wondered if Dick ever did. You always liked this costume, actually, it was so different from your dad’s that in some ways you preferred it.
Your brothers were heroes. How cool was that? And your dad was probably the most heroic one of them all, and that was much cooler. If only you could show it off, you were sure everyone would be jealous of you. How often can anyone say that their family are superheroes? Dick always looked so cool in this uniform, and sure he still looks amazing with his new one, but this one? It was different.
Finally after waiting enough you decided to just find him yourself. How hard could it be anyway?
Very hard, apparently.
So you did what any preteen would do and wandered around the tower, he had to be somewhere, right?
Until you landed in the middle of what you assumed to be a training room. It was a spacious room with a kiosk off to the side, and you sat down in the middle, crossing your legs and holding them to your chest. This sucked. And you didn’t even know the way back out to meet Jason to go home. Then, off to the corner of your eye, you saw movement, and you turned your head toward it but… nothing. But you felt the stares, you felt the eyes, and it scared you. You couldn’t call for help, you didn’t know where Dick was and Jason was too far to hear, so you shut your eyes tight and covered your ears. But that never stopped you before.
“Help!” Your voice was loud and immediately you heard a vent clatter to the ground while Jason tumbled out of it, he stood in front of you with one hand up and the other on his belt, ready to pull out a batarang if needed.
“Stop! We’re not intruders!” He shouts.
“Relax, everyone,” Dick’s voice was firm while he held a fist up to stop all movements, and, slowly the Titans back off. Dick eyed Jason and gestured for him to move over before he approached you slowly, crouching down as soon as he was close enough. And he felt his heart tighten. He knew it was you as soon as he’d seen you, but to see you in that? His old uniform? That old thing that had been ripped apart after many battles and had been stained with blood many a time… To see you wearing it was almost wrong. The little girl who cried whenever her brothers had scratches, the one who called for help for the smallest of things, to think that you could be a Robin almost ripped him apart, he didn’t want you to go through any of what he did, any of what Jason did. Hell, you just called for help right now and this is probably one of the safest places you could be.
Jason, only he could’ve put you up to this, and he made his intent clear from the quick glare he shot him, but Jason replied by whistling and rolling his eyes. Dick only sighed and reached out to rub your head. You removed your hands just enough to peer over them, and once you’d seen him, your frown deepened and you wrapped your arms around him, holding him tight, and he held you back. You missed him, a lot.
“False alarm, everyone, she’s my sister,” he rubs your back gently before rising up and, once you’d looked around, you saw the other members of the Titans that Dick was always talking about. “And you,” he looks at Jason, “we’ll talk later, wait outside for her and I’ll bring her out,” he says. Jason doesn’t fight it, he just nods and leaves the room, looking back to see you watching him go.
“He’s not in trouble is he?” You tugged at Dick’s arm to get his attention. “It was my idea to come here…” you muttered. Before Dick could respond, you were surrounded by excited voices. And you recognized all of them, you’d seen them plenty of times on your dad’s big computer alongside the other heroes.
“Whoa, Nightwing! You have a younger sister?” Garfield was the first to approach you, looking at you closely as if trying to find any similarities between the two of you.
“Yeah, adoptive,” he explains, ushering you forward.
“What a cute little girl!” Starfire pinches your cheeks and you let her, feeling the warmth from her hands radiate into your face as she did so and you didn’t hate it, “have you come to visit your brother?”
“Yeah,” your voice was slightly stifled.
“Good, take him home with you, he needs a break,” Starfire grins.
“Come on, Star, there’s too much work to do here,” he shakes his head.
“Now, what’s your name? You got a cool one too?” Garfield asks and Dick clears his throat before you could answer.
“Obviously, we can’t tell you her name, but you can just call her Robin while she’s here.”
“That’s a little confusing with the other Robin,” Raven mutters.
“But the other Robin isn’t here right now,” Wally answers.
“Alright, how about Little Wing, then?” Dick tosses out the nickname he had for you and your eyes lit up.
“Cool!” Wally zips over to you. “You really a Robin?” You shook your head. “Whoa, I was about to say…”
“Alright, alright, let’s not crowd her, okay?” Dick pushes you slightly behind him now, “you guys filter out, I’ll talk with her for a bit, I think I know why she’s here,” Dick wears a knowing smile, and the others groan but leave anyway, leaving you and Dick in the training room.
“So, Little Wing, what brings you all the way here from Gotham?” He sits down and crosses his legs, and you sit next to him.
“I just wanted to visit, is all…” you muttered.
“Oh, yeah?”
“You’re never home anymore…” you mumbled. Dick sighs.
“Yeah… yeah,” he nods, “the team needs me here.”
“But I need you there,” you replied. A small frown settles on Dick’s face.
“I know, I can’t come home right now, (Y/N),” he says while listening for unwanted ears, “but, hey, you still have Robin.”
“He’s still rude!” You shout. “He’s not like you, whenever I ask to do stuff with him all he does is complain, he can be so mean sometimes!” You grumbled.
“Mean? He took you all the way here, didn’t he?” Dick leans back on his palms and you huffed.
“I guess… but that’s probably because I keep complaining about how you’re not around anymore,” you pout.
“And he still does all those things with you even though he complains, right?”
“Yeah,” you looked to the side.
“Heck, even when you called for help that kid came tumbling down, I’m sure you hurt his feelings every time you call him mean.”
“Do I really?” Your voice was small. You hadn’t really considered it before. You and Jason had a tendency to argue, and maybe say a few mean things to each other every now and then, but you never once thought that you hurt his feelings during. “I guess he’s not so bad…”
“Looks like I got a worthy replacement then,” he claps your shoulder and you frowned again while shifting slightly away from him.
“Why aren’t you ever home anymore?” Dick doesn’t answer. “Is it dad? Did you two get in a fight?”
“Something like that,” Dick sighs. “But, you’re right, just because he and I are fighting doesn’t mean I should ignore you,” he rubs your hair playfully and you smiled. “I’ll carve out some time for you too, I can’t have Robin stealing all my thunder, right?” He smiles and you nodded your head.
“Promise?”
“Sibling's promise," he smiles.

“Move!” You pushed Nixon out of the way just in time for the Daemon’s arm to hammer down on top of you. You barely dodged in time, the beast’s arm just grazing you before it slammed against the ground and cracked the concrete beneath it. You pierced your blade into the beast’s stomach and it roared above you. “Shit, not enough,” you pulled back, but the beast grabbed onto you. “Shit!” You repeated and the beast opened its maw wide before it came biting down over your shoulder, its teeth digging into your neck, back, and chest. Your scream was near primal, feeling every single piece of you rip and sew itself back together.
“Captain!” Eve’s shriek could be heard from anywhere.
“(Y/N)!” And only Jason’s could have rivaled it. You heard successive rounds fired out and you knew they hit their target, but it couldn’t have been enough to fell this beast. Shurikens embedded themselves into the daemon’s body before you saw the staff flung toward it. But the beast only caught it in its hands and tossed it to the ground. You thrashed against the monster, you were too close to use your rifle and too busy to make your rapier be of any use aside from a handle. You grabbed onto the monster’s face, trying to pry it off of you, but it just bit down harder, pulling out yet another pained scream from you. Tim found a way to get on top of the beast and, holding Carter’s sword, he plunged the sword into the beast’s neck, but all it did was anger it further, and it shook you side to side like a dog would a toy, and your screams became garbled from the harsh movements. Tim was thrown to the ground in time for Jason to step forward and aim for the more vital parts of the beast.
But it wasn’t enough.
And you began to resort to more grotesque techniques to survive. So, with mangled limbs, you grabbed onto the beast’s ears and pushed back with all your might until you started to feel the flesh rip. Then another roar is heard. You turned your head to its source, right in front of the Barracks, and you felt an intense wave of dread.
It escaped.
The previously captured Daemon breathed heavily, chain collar around it’s neck and broken shackles on each limb. It was looking at you.
Sure, you could reattach. But, hypothetically, if you were ripped apart just enough, to the point that there was no base body to even reattach to, then this might be the end for you.
But that wasn’t fair. You couldn’t die yet, not in front of them. You were just barely able to catch a glimpse of Jason, the only one turned toward you, and it killed you, the way he looked. You couldn’t even imagine Tim. Thank god you sent Damian away.
“Oh, fuck,” Nixon charged toward it, but the daemon bent down on it’s hind legs before leaping across the air and toward you. It landed with a loud thud, shaking the ground temporarily before charging toward you and the daemon that was still trying to gnaw you in half.
You winced when the daemon locked its jaw on you, and you prepared yourself for impact, but instead, the chained Daemon bit onto the larger one’s neck and ripped it off of you. You fell to the ground, panting heavily and with no strength to get it up, but you were able to turn your head just enough to see the fight. It was gruesome.
“(Y/N), holy shit,” Jason helps you sit up, his hands red with the blood from your back. You brought your one good hand to your head and tried to stop the ringing in your ears through sheer will. Jason waved a hand in front of you. “How many fingers?”
“Three,” your eyes were slowly focusing again. You looked down at your chest.
It wasn’t reattaching. Not fast, at least.
“Are they fighting?” Carter runs up next to you, eyeing the bite wound before looking at the two beasts.
“Yeah, where’s Alex?” You were still catching your breath.
“Calling for help, again,” Carter looks around. “Eve’s getting medical supplies and Nixon’s watching the other one.”
“Okay,” you coughed up blood and you kept your head turned low. You couldn’t look at Jason. You didn’t want to know what kind of expression he had on his face right now. And you couldn’t let Tim see you this way either.
“(Y/N)! Let me see it,” Tim falls in front of you, looking at the damage, but his hands were shaking. “I’m sorry, I’m so sorry,” he says. “It was me, I saw it and got curious, I must have weakened the defense somehow,” Tim mumbles.
“Don’t,” you shook your head and looked past him, toward the fight. “They’re fighting each other… but why?” Your breathing was labored.
“Save your energy, kid.” You just realized that Jason has been supporting you this whole time. You watched the chained daemon grab onto the electric one, holding both of its arms before ripping one off entirely.
“Holy fuck,” it was like you were watching a massacre. And when the chained daemon bit down on the other for the last time, it closed its jaw completely over the other’s neck. Slowly, it rose again, opening its jaw to let the blood of its felled opponent spill out, and then it turned to you. Instinctively, you tried to push back, but Jason held you in place. His gaze was as locked upon it as it was to you.
The daemon approached the group slowly, its eyes menacing and its jaw hung open, but its steps were slow and maybe casual. Its ears folded down and as it closed the distance its eyes seemed to soften. Before it finally stood above you, everyone held still by your weakened fist in the air, ready to signal an attack at any moment. But nothing happened, it just stood there.
And then it looked at Tim.
You were already confused about why it seemed responsive to you, but to Tim too?
“Tim,” your voice was weak.
“Yeah?” He didn’t break eye contact with the beast.
“Around its neck are a pair of dog tags, read it for me.”
“Okay…” Tim reached his hand out slowly. And the beast, as if understanding, turned its head up to allow the tags to be seen better. “CK-78.”
“Does it mean anything to you?” You asked. Blood was still pooling out of the bite marks across your torso.
Tim’s eyes narrowed on the dogtags, and then he looked up at the daemon’s eye. Strange, it was as if it was begging Tim to get it. To figure out the mystery behind it.
While Tim did so, Eve returned, holding the first aid kit and kneeling next to you.
“I got it,” Jason took the bandages. He knew a thing or two about field patching, he’d say. He wrapped it around your body a couple of times after packing the larger wounds, it’ll do for now, but you’d have to get the seen by a professional later.
Look at this.
His worst nightmare.
During his time as a Robin, there was a reoccurring nightmare he’d always have.
It would start out as normal, it was one of those dreams that felt so real that he wouldn’t think twice. He’d pick you up from academy, you’d do whatever you felt like doing, and on your way home you’d be interrupted by one of the bastards who had Batman and Robin on their hit list. They would fight. And Jason would be so busy beating the shit out of them that he wouldn’t realize the mortal wounds you had. And when he would clean you up, when he would stop the bleeding any way he knew how, you would look away from him, and you wouldn’t say anything.
He would always wake up in a cold sweat after that, comforted by the fact that it was a nightmare.
Except now wasn’t that, it was real. It was so real that you were bleeding through your bandages, and you were holding your head from the blood loss, no doubt seeing the world spin, and you weren't looking at him.
“What happened?!” Damian came back too late, seeing you on the ground. It was his turn to sit in front of you. “Sister? Sister!” Damian held your face in his hands. But your eyes had glazed over. Your breaths were shallow, and your head heavy.
You were so tired.
Your eyelids slipped shut and the last thing you felt was Damian shaking you.

2014
You watched silently while Dick went through his normal workout routine. You were more disinterested, if anything, sure it was cool at first but now it was just a wasted three hours of your day. But, you needed to ask him something, in fact that was why you’d been staying with him for the past week, one part of it was that it was this odd request of yours and the other part of it was that you just didn’t want to be home. It was so suffocating in the mansion, so quiet, and so…
Lonely.
“What’s up, little wing?” Dick pulled you out of your thoughts. He wiped the sweat off his neck with a towel and started shoving the weights back into their original places. “You’ve been staring at me for a while now.”
“Have I? Sorry, it wasn’t creepy was it?”
“It was a little creepy,” he chuckled. “But… I know I look good,” he nudges you playfully.
“Shut up, you’re gross,” you made a fake gagging sound and leaned back against the wall, being sure to avert your gaze this time.
“Is… everything alright?” He asks as if testing the waters. You didn’t blame him, to be fair. Since you’d arrived, you hadn’t mentioned his name once.
“Everything’s fine,” you shrugged. Dick sits next to you now, picking up his water bottle along the way and taking a deep breath.
“I know it’s hard but… he’s my brother too.” That got you. You leaned forward with your elbows on your knees and you buried your face in your hands. “It’s okay to grieve,” he says. It’s already been a year.
“But what if I don’t want to?” Your voice was muffled. “Me grieving is like me accepting that he’s dead, but he can’t be, right? Dad wouldn’t have let him die, right?” Your questions would go unanswered, instead, you felt Dick place a reassuring hand on your shoulder.
“Everyone… everyone has to go eventually,” Dick says carefully.
“Why did it have to be him, though?” Your tears spilled out of your hands now. You never really thought of how deadly your family’s jobs were. They were just always so prepared, so ready for any possible thing that could go wrong, until they weren’t. “I… I’ve been watching Tim train to be Robin, and it got me thinking about what he asked me before…” your voice trailed after being interrupted by hiccups, and Dick just rubbed your upper back the whole time, waiting patiently for you to finish. You took a deep breath. “Tim asked me… to become the next Robin, originally. But I said no, and now he’s training instead. But… you know he’s so bright, he can do anything he wants and instead, because I chickened out, he’s training to be a vigilante.” Dick didn’t say anything. “But you know me and how I feel about what you all do.”
“I do.”
“I just… it’s not…” you paused. “Could I even do it?” You turned to him now. Dick, though, turned away from you with his focus on his hands. They were grasping onto each other tight with the knuckles turning white. “Dick?”
“What do you think, (Y/N)?” He asks. “If you came here to ask me to make that decision for you, I won’t. You know as well as I do what being a Robin means.”
“But he’s just so… young, Dick. I never realized how young you both were when you started, but now when I watch Tim I can’t help but worry.”
“Hell, you should’ve seen us then,” Dick laughs quietly. There’s no way you could know his thoughts right now. He who might have been the reason why you were so averted to vigilante business to begin with, he did everything he possibly could to keep you separate from it and now here you were, asking him if you should become a Robin. It was one of his worst nightmares, actually. There have been many a time he thought if becoming a vigilante was the right way to cope, he thought he was becoming a hero, but really he at first became a soldier. He couldn’t see you become like that. You who was probably the only thing keeping both him and Bruce grounded, imagine if they lost that, imagine if you lost that.
“But doesn’t it make sense though, Dick? If I became a Robin?”
“Well… yeah,” he nods his head absently, “but is that what you want to do?” You thought for a moment. The toll vigilante work took on your dad, the childhood it took from Dick, the life it took from Jason, and the time it was taking from Tim, could you shoulder that?
“I came here for two reasons,” you said instead, “one was to get out of that house. No one’s ever home anymore,” you muttered.
“And the second?”
“I was going to ask you to train me,” you admitted bashfully. “But I don’t think I was ever cut out for vigilante work, I don’t have the same resolve you and… he did,” you took a deep breath. “What exactly did you two fight about for Jason to have been banned from the Titan tower, Dick?”
“…” he didn’t answer for a while. But you knew that look on his face, he was thinking, and very hard at that too. “He wanted to train you,” he says, “he wanted to have the both of us train you. Have you learn the basics of being a Robin just in case… just in case neither of us could’ve gotten to you in time.” Your face grew more serious. “And I said ‘no.’”
“Why?”
“At that time, when you were twelve, did you want to be a Robin?” He asks. You thought about it for a while.
“Yes, I thought I could be a Robin,” you nodded.
“And now?” He waits for your answer.
“I… I don’t know. But, was the fight really all that bad for him to get banned?”
“You don’t understand, (Y/N),” Dick shook his head. “No one knows the price of being a Robin more than we did. You know, no matter how old you get, you’re still our little sister, I don't know what I'd do if even half the shit that happened to me happened to you,” he nudges you. “We didn’t see eye-to-eye on that and, well, I already disagreed with how he treated the mantle too, so I won’t lie and I tell you we started off on a good page,” he says. “And when it came to you, what to do with you and how to take care of you, we either agreed with each other entirely or were at odds, there was no in-between,” Dick rolled his eyes, thinking back to the arguments between the two.
“Really?”
“Yeah, we just never did it in front of you, obviously,” Dick says. “You know us well, (Y/N). Take you being in danger. If it was up to me you’d never be in a dangerous situation to begin with, so I hope you never held it against me when I told you to stay behind.”
“I did.”
“I know,” Dick nods. “You do this thing where you’d take a deep breath and close your eyes and that’s how we’d know you’re upset,” he laughs and you broke a smile. “But Jason? Phew. To him, as long as you were within an arm’s distance, you were never in danger, and that was pretty much true from how I’d see him with you,” Dick shakes his head.
“Well… yeah, it’s the same with you, right?” You asked.
“Of course! But, also, not necessarily,” he shakes his head again. “It’s happened enough times before, I would just pull you out of a situation before things got too heated. Jason, though, would throw himself in front of you if it meant keeping you safe, he was always reckless like that,” he says. And look where it got him. “Like that time you first visited me at the Tower, oh my god, I almost popped a vein when I heard how you got there,” Dick exaggerates his words with his hands. “The Robin Cycle?! Seriously?! God, so much could have gone wrong, and, oh my god, you were in the vents!” Dick started rambling and you started laughing. “He’s actually crazy to think that would’ve been okay,” Dick runs a hand through his hair and you settled down.
“I had so much fun that day,” your smile fell into a softer one, “I remember thinking that I was just like you guys…” Dick nods solemnly.
"That's... If there was one thing Jason and I always agreed on, it was that we wanted you to be better than we could ever be. For me, that was making your own choices free from a legacy, and for Jason that was being more prepared than he ever was," Dick says before taking a deep breath. “Sometimes I forget we were that same age when we started,” Dick says.
“Exactly,” you sighed.
“The only difference was that Jason and I were insanely traumatized, and you weren’t,” he chuckles and you shifted uncomfortably.
“Yeah, yeah, I know,” your arms rested over your knees. “You and Jason were these self-made heroes, and I was the spoiled rich kid brat who thought it would’ve been easy.”
“Spoiled? Yeah. Brat? Nah,” Dick laughs.
“Hey!”
“Hey you! Whatever you wanted we got you!”
“Okay, well that was your choice,” you defended yourself.
“True,” Dick concedes. But then his smile falls. “We used to talk about it. (Y/N),” the tone shifts again, “it’s not that we think you couldn’t handle being a vigilante, anyone can take on the mantle, it’s whether or not you’d be best utilized for that mantle. You have so many other strengths that Jason and I don’t have, you know you kept us grounded so many times when all we wanted to do was fly,” Dick says. “There are days where we almost went too far, I think, and every time there you were to help us back down,” he continues, but then he stops. “If you want to be a Robin, then I’ll help you, but you need to find someone who can be your grounder too. That hopeful humanity you have is what makes you such a vital part to our team, and I’m just afraid that becoming Robin will change that,” he finishes. You held on to every word.
Robin, what did it really stand for? It wasn’t just Batman’s sidekick, it was a symbol as much as Batman was. A symbol of hope for some, the hope that came after vengeance.
And here you were, wanting to become a Robin just to hunt down the Joker.
You couldn’t tell that to Dick.
But it made you so upset. The Joker killed your brother and your father hasn’t done anything about him, hell, you were just reading an article about how Joker and Batman had a showdown and still your father let him go. Wasn’t your father angry at all? Didn’t he feel some kind of guilt or sympathy for Jason?
“(Y/N), I know what you’re thinking, I can see it in your eyes,” Dick says. “But Bruce… Bruce has his own way of grieving too. We don’t have to understand it, it’s not like he’d tell us anyway, but just like how you came to me, Bruce went to someone else,” Dick explains.
“He’s my own dad, and I feel like you know him better than I ever will.”
“I am older than you,” he nudges you softly.
“I just wish he came to us,” you mumbled. “He thinks he’s so alone sometimes, and I feel it,” you held onto your chest and rubbed it softly with the ball of your hand. “I feel like I don’t know him anymore, Dick, I don’t know how to talk to my own dad.”
“Just start small, he’s grieving too.”
“I don’t recognize him anymore, Dick,” your hands went to your arms now. “Don’t tell him this, okay?” You looked at him, your eyes wide with a hint of… something, something Dick didn’t want to admit.
“I won’t.”
“Promise?”
“Sibling secret,” he makes a zipper motion with his mouth. You moved so that you were facing him a little more.
“When he came home the other night, Tim was already in bed and I was about to go too, but you know I’ve been having trouble sleeping lately, and my therapist recommended tea. I figured dad would want some too, he usually does after late-night patrols, so I made some for him and brought it down to the cave. I was originally just going to leave it there, but he was already sitting down in front of the batcomputer… I didn’t even hear him come in,” you started. “And when I placed the mug down, he turned to look at me so fast that I almost fell back, and…” you hesitated, but Dick was listening very carefully, “he threw one of those batarangs of his. He threw it towards me and he missed, but,” your hand ghosted over your cheek, where the shallow cut was long before, “I know he didn’t mean to, he’d been on edge ever since what happened but… he scared me, Dick. The way he looked at me, it scared me so much I couldn’t move,” your hands were trembling, they were trembling so much you clasped your hands together to stop them, but they didn’t, “I’ve never been afraid of dad before but that night was different. I couldn’t say anything to him, I just dropped the mug off and ran back upstairs.”
“Did he do that?” Dick was in disbelief. You nodded your head, the image still clear in your mind.
“The next morning he apologized but… I didn’t think I’d ever be in that situation to begin with. I know, I know ever since what happened with Jason he’s been so guarded, so I’m not holding it against him but…” you trailed off. You were so scared that night. “I know it won’t happen again.”
“It won’t, you’re right,” he says. “Maybe…” he hesitates. “Maybe I’ll drop by a bit more, I know Tim’s been training, but maybe it’ll help more if a former Robin helped him out,” Dick says. Your expression seemed to perk up at this.
“You’re coming home?”
“Just visiting,” he says. “Might do Tim some good to have someone other than Alfred and Bruce, right?” He rolls his shoulders out. “Plus, I can tell you miss me,” he nudges your shoulder and you rolled your eyes again.
“I always miss you guys,” you waved it off.
“Aww, oh my god! My sister misses me?” Dick exaggerates and you groan.
“Don’t you dare make me regret coming here!”
“Oh, I am so touched, I could cry,” Dick hides his eyes with his hand before separating his fingers just enough to see your deadpan expression. You shook your head and stood up.
“Thanks, Dick, for hearing me out,” you wiped your palms on your thighs.
“Of course, anything for you, (Y/N),” he smiles.
“I don’t want to bother you anymore-”
“Whoa! You’re leaving already? Let me treat you out first, you came all the way here to Blüdhaven, I can’t let you go home on an empty stomach,” Dick jumps up and walks ahead of you.
“No, it’s okay!”
“(Y/N), Alfred would kill me,” Dick looks back with an inflated look of despair and you laughed.
“You’re right, you’re right, fine! But I get to choose!”
“Keeping up the spoiled persona, I get you.”
"Dick! You're such a..." you stopped yourself and Dick waited with expectant eyes for the punchline. "I'm not gonna say it."
"It was worth a shot," Dick waits for you to catch up and you both left together.

2022
You’re in the manor, but you knew, not really. The details were fuzzy, faceless paintings repeated themselves, and hallways seemed longer than usual. Every time you turned a wrong corner the hallway would loop until you realized that you had to turn around.
This was a dream.
Ever since you’d come to this new Earth, you had this uncanny ability of lucid dreaming. Or, at the very least, you were very conscious in your dreams. You always remembered them after too. But naught without cost. You either had a dreamless night, or you had relentless nightmares. You were already mentally preparing yourself for what you were about to see. If you were in the manor then, you already know, this one would be tough. And it seemed that your dream was guiding you into the foyer, and it landed you in front of the infamous bookcase. You pulled the bust’s head back and pressed the button, watching the bookcase slide forward and to the side. The staircase down was dark, near infinite. You took a deep breath and took a step closer to it.
“(Y/N)? You’re not allowed down there,” you heard a voice behind you say. You turned around and saw a much younger Dick Grayson.
“Why not?”
“It’s dangerous.” He says.
“Why don’t you come with me then?” You caught your reflection on the glass case next to you. You were so little. Your cheeks round with baby fat and your hair tied into twin tails. This was going to be rough.
“I… I wouldn’t be enough, just stay up here, okay? Let’s play a game,” he pulls out a Monopoly set and you shook your head.
“Sorry, Dick, I just want to be done with this.” You shook your head and walked into the darkness, feeling the chill of fear run through you with every step. And finally you reached the bottom, and the cave illuminated. You could hear someone typing on the keyboard. “Dad?” You called out to him and the clacking stopped. You walked further into the cave, until you could see the batcomputer and the looming figure of the Batman sitting in front of it. “I didn’t hear you come home,” you waited for his response. And there was none. “Dad?” You chanced it again. And the Batman turned quickly on the chair.
You were afraid.
You felt your heart pumping and the blood rushing through your veins. That wasn’t your father, no, it was a daemon in the Batsuit, how fucking fitting. And you screamed, you called for help, and you wanted to fall to the ground and cover your ears with how the daemon roared. And when it fell to the ground and started clawing its way toward you it just felt so real, it felt so real that you could feel the tears streaming down your face and your burning throat.
“(Y/N)! Get away!” Your dad. You felt someone pull you back with such force that you nearly flew at that size. And you watched the two Batmen fighting. One, your father, and the other a daemon.
“You!” Another voice now. You were knocked to the ground and you saw… you. She pinned you down with a crazed look in her eyes. “You took everything from me,” her voice dripped with venom and you looked away. She wrapped her hands around your throat and pressed her thumbs against your windpipe. “I’ll kill you.” You gasped for air now and she throttled you. “Give it back. Give it back to me!” You shook your head, and you shut your eyes, trying every trick in the book to wake up. You bit your tongue, you gnawed on your hands, and you even tried doing simple math until finally you shot up from bed.
Taking deep breaths, you clutched onto your heart. Your wounds had been cleaned and bandaged. You looked around the med bay and you wiped the cold sweat from your head. You looked to the side, spotting the scattered tools, and you grabbed the scalpel. You took more deep breaths, the world at your peripherals still fuzzy, and you plunged it into your hand just to be sure you’d woken up and soon you heard a shout next to you.
“Are you crazy?! Give me that!” Jason tugged the scalpel out of your hand and chucked it toward the other side of the room. It looks like he had just woken up too. He slumped back on the chair next to your bed and took deep breaths.
“Jason, what happened?” You watched your hand reattach. Back to normal.
“What happened? You almost got ripped apart, that’s what happened,” he points at your bandages.
“I mean after, Jay.”
“Oh, well,” he shakes the shock off, “after you passed out, Alex came back and helped that other girl wheel you over here to get you patched up. Tim went with Mary, I think her name was, and they started doing stuff with the monster to see why it reacted that way.”
“And Damian?” Jason points at the other side of your bed and you turned your head toward it. Damian had fallen asleep next to you, head resting on his arms that were crossed over the edge of the bed. Wordlessly, you rubbed his hair gently and you turned to Jason. “Talk about a warm welcome,” you repeated. Jason didn’t answer, he was looking down at your hand. “You’re right. It is sick and twisted.” Your hand looked like nothing had happened to it. “Looks like I never stabbed it all, huh?” Your voice was quiet, so as not to wake Damian.
“But those are still there,” he looked at the healed over that encircled your whole wrist.
Your hands were the first to go that night.
You rubbed it softly.
“I don’t like thinking about it.”
“I don’t blame you.”
“I still have nightmares about it,” you tugged the hospital gown up, as if it would hide the scar that encircled your neck. It didn’t.
“Was that the one you had just now?”
“No, that one was… fairly new,” you thought back to it. It wasn’t the first time you’d been attacked by yourself. You figured it was some crazy dream symbolism thing that said you were at odds with yourself, but you weren’t so sure. Jason didn’t need to know about it. “It’s fine,” you shook your head.
“Oh, Captain, you’re up,” the nurse walks in with a clipboard in hand. “That was a nasty bite you had there, but I suspect it’s all been reattached by now, right?” You touched your chest. All good. You nodded your head and the nurse beamed. “Excellent, then, you’d been resting for a while so you should be able to get back to work soon?”
“How long have I been out?”
“It’s been a couple of days, Captain. Sir Grant will drop by and hand you the paperwork you’ve missed.”
“It can’t be that much, can it?” You asked. The nurse just smiles.
“Dr. Bronte ordered you to remain on bed rest for the week, he was very adamant about it,” she says. “So, unfortunately, nothing but paperwork.”
“What?! He knows I reattach, right?!” You shot up from bed and she ushers you back down.
“Yes, of course, but it’s still his orders,” she says. You groaned.
“I see, thank you,” you dismissed her and she saluted before leaving the room.
“So… Captain, huh?” Jason makes conversation. “You have to tell me about that,” he crosses his ankle over his knee and you shook your head with a slight smile.
“It’s boring.”
“Well, not like you’re going anywhere.”
“Rude!”
“I’m serious! I wanna know what you’ve been up to! I thought you hated being a leader.”
“I do.”
“So… why Captain?”
“God, everyone else is incomptent,” you rolled your eyes and Jason laughed.
“That’s more like you, tell me from the beginning.”
“Ugh… well…” You looked up at the ceiling, thinking of where to start. “When I woke up here I was so lost. I was lucky enough to have been brought in by good people, and they showed me how this world worked, but I knew I had to repay them somehow. Luckily for me, one of them was the previous Captain, so he let me train under him and now I’m here. That’s the shortened version,” you explained.
“What? Boring, give me the good one.”
“You’re so annoying!”
“Sure, yeah, now tell me about people you beefed with.”
“Fine.”

2015
You were worried sick, and you stayed up late to wait for your father and Tim to come home, they told you they’d be back in the morning, and now it was nearing midnight, their comms were turned off and their locations unknown, Babs was going near crazy trying to locate them and here you were, waiting in the Batcave like it would do something.
“Dick, what do you think?” You chewed on the tip of your thumb. Your older brother stood by the computer, trying to do anything to locate anything.
“I might send the Titans in after them if they’re not back,” he says. You stood up and looked at the screen. Tim had only recently been inducted in as a Robin, after months and months of training, he finally made it, and this was his first big break mission with your father after he’d saved the others from Two-Face, the first time he was entrusted with an actual mission aside from the Gotham patrols. But… you were worried.
Then, finally, you heard the telltale sign of the plane landing, and you and Dick were quick to run over. Your father emerged first and soon after…
“Tim?” You stepped forward to see him better and… You could hear your heartbeat in your ears, it was the only thing louder than the ringing. There was blood, a lot of it, it caked around his face and on his uniform, and it left footprints where he walked. He spotted you, forcing a smile and a wave.
But the world around you dulled. All conversation was muted to you. Your vision tunneled on Tim, and for some reason all you could see was Jason, head split open by a crowbar and blood pooled around him like you’d seen in all your nightmares, and when you’d blink he’d go back to Tim, bloodied. Then you’d blink again, Jason, you’d blink, Tim. What was this ringing? This fear you felt in your heart? Couldn’t your father have helped clean him up a little on his way here? Couldn’t he have dressed those wounds better? Was the blood even his?
“(Y/N)?” Tim was closer now, you noticed him nursing his side, the wound messily dressed and barely doing the job. You looked at your father.
“Oh, Tim,” your hands rest on his shoulders gently, while you tried to assess the damage. “What happened?” You asked carefully.
“It was rough,” your father shook his head. “Too many variables we didn’t account for, we won’t make that mistake again.”
“Too many variables? Enough to leave Tim like this?” You looked at him. “Let me see it,” you looked at his side.
“It’s okay,” Tim shakes his head.
“Show me,” you insisted. Tim only nodded, removing his hand just enough so you could see the scar through the cut-open uniform. Go figure, the Robin uniform wasn’t fit for a jungle. You looked at your father again, who was looking at Tim. “What happened?”
“Mutated animals, we’re still investigating it, we’ll return in the morning,” he responds.
“In the morning? Look at him! He’s barely holding himself together!” You argued. “Take Dick with you! Tim needs to rest.”
“(Y/N),” Dick spoke up, or had he been speaking?
“He’s fine, (Y/N), we all cleared him for Robin work, this is just collateral,” your father answers.
“Just collateral? He’s not a business, he’s Tim fucking Drake!” You stepped in front of Tim now. “Do you want to go back there?” You looked at him, and he shrank in his shoes. Tim only shook his head, clearly still shaken from the events.
“He’s a Robin, he wanted to be a Robin, trained for it, and now he is it,” Batman argues.
“Christ, dad, he’s thirteen!” You shout.
“Dick was eleven!”
“And look where that got him! He resents you!” You looked to Dick, who sighed and shook his head. He couldn’t answer, because what you said had some truth to it. Everyone knew it.
“Jason was—”
“Jason is dead!” You cut him off, your hands balled at your sides and your throat strained, there was a tense silence in the cave now. “You killed my brother! You killed him and you didn’t even grieve like a normal person, I had to hear from Tim that you were ripping people apart in the ports! That’s horrifying, dad! Why… why are you repeating what happened with Jason?!”
“Take that back!” Batman’s voice rose in a way no one ever heard before.
“And what will you do if Tim is gone? Are you going to go on a killing spree?” You felt like pulling your hair out. “Jason’s gone and you haven’t done shit about it!”
“I’ve done everything to avenge him!”
“Everything to avenge but none to honor!” You stood up taller now, and you looked the Batman in his eye. “The Joker still runs wild, and all you’ve done is train his replacement.”
“You know nothing about what I do for this city!”
“And I don’t want to be part of it,” you could feel your throat burning. “Look at Tim! He could be dead right now and you wouldn’t do anything about it, you said it yourself, it’s just collateral,” you turned his words on him and Batman stepped forward. You stepped back.
“Death… death is part of the job,” Batman responds and your shoulders slumped.
“God… are you even my father when you put that mask on?” You tried to step back, hoping you’d see at least some of your dad in him, but nothing. “If death is so okay with you then I don’t want to be next in line. I will never be a vigilante.”
“What did you say?” Batman spoke up.
“You…” You’re a monster. You couldn’t find it in yourself to say it. “I will never be a vigilante, I want nothing to do with this Batman circus act, especially if you’re so okay with your kids being near killed,” you were running your mouth now, saying everything that came to mind. You just couldn’t think straight, how the hell did your older brothers do it? You would scrape a knee and they’d raise hell, now Tim comes home bleeding head to toe and you want to throttle whoever did this to him. “I don’t know who you even are, anymore, but the Batman I idolized would have never put his sons in these kinds of situations!”
“You don’t know me!”
“I don’t anymore!”
“Don’t pretend you understand this line of business!”
“I’m not! I don’t understand being a vigilante at all!”
“You’ve lived with us your whole life and you still don’t understand?! Gotham needs us!”
“You’re right, Gotham needs you! Not some remote island with mutated animals! Jesus, you could’ve at least given Tim some actual gear!”
“We didn’t account for monsters thrice our size!”
“And you didn’t think to regroup and plan that shit out?!”
“Watch your language!”
“Fuck my language, Tim’s barely together!”
“You’re acting like you know him so well.”
“And you do?! You really think any normal thirteen-year-old would be okay with getting their shit beat out of them!”
“He chose this.”
“He doesn’t have to get ripped apart because of it!”
“You are making a big deal out of—”
“I just don’t want to lose another brother!” Your voice echoed in the cave. You looked back to Tim, whose hands were over his ears now and his eyes shut closed. His bloodied hands dripped down his face and you shook your head, pulling out a handkerchief and wiping most of it from his face. Tim’s eyes opened slowly and his hands moved away so you could clean up at least that much, at least enough to stop seeing the worst possible outcome. And though you felt a rage like none other, you kept your hands steady, you kept them gentle, just enough to try to calm Tim down without saying anything that would make him more scared.
“Why do you even bother, (Y/N)?” You heard Batman speak behind you, and before you could turn back to him, Dick took your shoulders and pushed you away.
“Let’s go, you need to cool off,” he says quietly.
“I need to help Tim!”
“Alfred will help him.”
“In that case someone has to pull Batman back to reality!” You tried to shrug Dick off, but his grip was firm. “Let go, Dick! Don’t pretend you don’t agree with me!”
“Let’s take a walk, (Y/N),” he insists, urging you out of the cave.
“Am I so wrong, Dick?!”
“Let’s go,” he keeps ushering you, “I’ll deal with Bruce.”
“You’ll deal with him?” You pushed away from him, you were just steps away from the outside. “Oh! Right! You’ll deal with him… the prodigal son,” you huffed. “Go figure, the kid he listens to is the one he chose and not the one he had,” you snarked and Dick’s expression steeled.
“Don’t say it like that.”
“But it’s exactly that and you know it,” you shot back. “When dad found out I was a weak kid he picked you up instead to train as his protege.”
“That’s not how it happened and you know it!”
“Try all you want to escape him, you never will.” Dick clenches his jaw, holding back something that probably, no, definitely would’ve destroyed your relationship, and he took a deep breath.
“Let’s go,” his voice was softer as he ushers you out again and you both take a step into the cold. “Take a deep breath, (Y/N).” You did so. Both of you were quiet, looking over the cliffside.
“I’m sorry, Dick,” you said quietly, your voice just barely over the sound of waves hitting the rock around you.
“It’s fine, you’re mad, I get it,” Dick nods. “You never get mad, this is just all that pent-up anger.”
“Yeah…” you took a deep breath again. “How the hell did you two do it?” You asked him. Dick shoved his hands in his pockets.
“Do what?”
“All of it.”
“You know, we came home much worse before.”
“But I never saw it.”
“We didn’t let you.”
“I was so young at the time, I get it.”
“You’re still young now.”
“And he’s younger.” Dick didn’t respond.
“Being a vigilante… it’s not easy work, (Y/N),” he says. “We get battered, bruised, and beaten, but we do it for a good cause. If we don’t do it, then who will?” He asks.
“I know, I understand it when you say it, but I can’t understand him,” you looked at him.
“And I respect that, I do,” Dick nods.
“Who even is he, anymore?” You looked away from him. Again, Dick didn’t respond.
“You were pretty harsh in there, (Y/N),” he says.
“Was I?”
“Jason would be proud,” Dick laughs. You didn’t. “You know Bruce is… he’s on his own train, and we’re just a couple cars behind him,” Dick says. “He has his own way of doing things, he cares in his own way, too. You know he wouldn’t let Tim die, he’s not going to put him in a situation he knew he wouldn’t be able to save him in.”
“I… I think I know that,” you shuddered.
“What happened with Jason was because of a myriad of factors that were out of all our control. It’s no one’s fault,” he looks at you, but you were looking to the city. "(Y/N)? What are you thinking right now?"
"I just..." your voice trailed off and your eyes were still distant. You hadn't realized it, you hadn't really thought of it until now. “I miss my dad.”

2022
“What do you think, Zee? Can you find them?” Dick’s brows furrowed together while Zatanna ran back the camera footage from the cave earlier. They played the footage in slow motion so she could run through every detail.
“What I can definitely say is that it’s 100% magic,” she says. Constantine leans over, eyes squinted.
“Yup, I agree.”
“Can you back off? You smell like alcohol,” Zatanna grimaces.
“Hey, I’m here to help too!”
“I didn’t ask for your help, you were just in the room when Dick asked me to come over and you followed,” Zatanna groaned.
“Contrary to popular belief, I was (Y/N)’s favorite,” Constantine grinned.
“Okay, that’s definitely not true,” Dick frowns.
“It is! I’d do a lil party trick for her every time I saw her when she was a lass,” Constantine defends. Zatanna and Dick share a look of disbelief before they go back to the tapes.
“Well?” Bruce approaches from behind them. “What are we thinking?”
“Aside from the obvious magic?” Constantine lights his cigarette.
“What do you think?” Bruce asks.
“Roll it back a few seconds, Zee, right before the bright light,” Constantine leans against the console, and when Bruce glares at him he straightens again. “Zoom in on the watch.”
“Here, we have a reconstruction of it here,” Dick taps the screen to the side and brings up the holographic image of the watch. Constantine swipes it around while observing the emblem etched onto it.
“The hint is here,” he says while pointing to it. “Trace back this emblem and you’ll find your boys.”
“How do you know for sure?”
“There are very few kinds of magic that you can use on an object like this,” he says. He opens the watch and the watch face deconstructs into layers in the hologram. “And when you look at the make of the watch, it explains much more.”
“Look at the hands, there’s eight of them, and with each hand is a corresponding circle with a different engraving around the circumference,” Zatanna says, “it’s a device used for transport, to put it bluntly. And if the watch hands aren’t set to a certain one, it can be inferred that a device used for transport would have its default settings set to where it’s originally from, so if we trace back the source we’ll be able to find Tim and Jason,” she says.
“What she—” Constantine is cut off by his phone ringing. “Hold on, gotta get this,” he picks it up and walks to a quiet part of the cave.
“Think you can give it a shot?” Dick asks. Zatanna hums.
“Sure,” she shrugs. “Gnirb kcab Mit dna Nosaj!” Though there were sparks, nothing happened. “I didn’t think that would work. Let me try something else. Gnirb em eht hctaw!” In seconds, a bright light forms between her hands and then the sounds of clinks and clatters of watch pieces falling to the ground are heard.
“Oh, great, they broke it,” Dick wasn’t surprised when he picked it up.
“But if there’s residual energy on it then I can trace it,” Dick places the pieces on the console right as Constantine returns.
“Alright, let’s work a deal,” he looks at Bruce. “I help you find your four missing kids if you help me with mine.”
“Tell me more,” Bruce invites him to continue.
“An old protege of mine has been having some trouble with monsters, if you and your detective brains can help him and I figure out what’s going on, Zee and I will help you look for your kids.”
“Hey! Who said I agreed to this?!”
“I thought you had a soft spot for Liverpool,” Constantine shrugs.
“Oh! If it’s him who needs help then by all means,” Zatanna smiles, remembering the younger boy fondly.
“Well, there you have it, should be quick, might end up just being an extermination job, but he won’t stop bitching about it, so what’s the plan?” Bruce and Dick look at each other. They’d been trying for weeks now trying to find a lead of some sort, with Constantine and Zatanna’s help they’d be able to figure it out much faster.
“Fine,” Bruce shakes Constantine’s hand and, at the snap of a finger, a portal opens up next to Constantine.
“Then let’s start our search,” he invites the two to enter first. “You coming, Zee?”
“I’ll follow, I want to study this watch first.”
“Smart move,” Dick says.
“I’ll see you all soon,” she watches the portal close.
The three men land in what looks like a small village. People milled about and kept to themselves while they moved about the streets.
“So where is this protege of yours?” Bruce asks.
“Beats me,” Constantine shrugs.
“What do you mean?!” Dick shouts.
“Might’ve landed in the wrong town,” Constantine looks around. “‘Scuse me, love, which way to the Capital?” He pulls aside a maiden. He cheeks tinge pink before pointing down the road.
“You’ll get there in three days if you walk, hail a cab, they’ll be able to take you there faster,” she says.
“Will do, thanks,” Constantine holds his hand up. “You guys have cash right?”
“Who do you think I am?” Bruce asks. Constantine busies himself looking for a cab while Bruce and Dick stuck together, looking around the village with a hawk’s eye.
“Whoops! Sorry, mister!” A kid accidentally collides into Bruce and runs off. Bruce checks his pockets quickly, feeling everything still inside, and soon the duo notice the grouping of children.
“Wonder what the fuss is about,” Dick stretches slightly to try to see what everyone’s looking at. “Hey, what’s everyone so excited about?” Dick asks one of the newspaper boys.
“You don’t know?” The kid asks.
“Nope,” Dick answers with a shrug.
“Dang, mister, are you living under a rock?!” He hands him a newspaper and Dick skims through it. “The Dark Knight is coming!” Bruce turned his attention to the newspaper kid. “We’ll be saved from the daemons!”
“The Dark Knight?” Dick asks, catching on to Bruce’s attention.
“Duh! Captain Wayne!”

my chnt swap AU will now be called
camp this and that
idea originally provided by @fall3nash2339
all info about characters+ art links under cut😋😋!!
(NEWWER DESIGNS WILL COME SOON, ALL OF THESE ARE FROM A SLIGHTLY OUTDATED STYLE)
all the characters have the same physical appearance (except for sydney), personalities and roles are changed
the nurses~
head nurse: Elijah Volkov, he makes all the announcements, and is mentally decaying. Boy oh boy, is he quite the man. Silly little bpd man, collected mental illness like Pokémon. But he's caring, and will do just about anything in his power to help the campers out when needed. He has a knack for elephants, likes sharing fun facts, not only about elephants but anything and everything. No filter😋 if he's thinking it, he'll say it, obviously nothing bad will come of that. Trust issues, yummy.
assistant nurse: Adam Uptin, always carrying snacks with him, he can get you to share how your parents wronged you then shove a bag of skittles in your hand and walk away. Adam isn't a fan of leaving the nurses cabin, let alone his side office, something about being a vampire and ""ahhhh the suns"",,etc etc. Although, you can lore him outside with some sunscreen, an umbrella, and an apple.
camp counselors (all camps stay the same)
Cabin Dung Beetle: Juniper Sloan. long neck, dirty blonde. British man, he's scared of the water (blah blah blah "i'm experiencing the past, present, and future all at once and i can't breathe." yadda yadda yadda) besides the meltdowns and break downs, he's pretty silly
Cabin Grasshopper : Marisol Yuchengco, 👁️dresses in gothic attire, but she's one of the most understating counselors you'll ever meet. Salem de La Marnierre, 👁️scene kid vibes, lowkey really chill though. The two are dating<3 (basically just the same as chnt, just,,, ya'know,, swapped.)
Cabin Magpie Moth: Rowan Chow, the goofiest mother fucker in the entire camp. He can actually produce sound effects, he doesnt choose them or when they happen, that's up to the universe, they just come from his general area. This man runs off of actual cartoon logic, dont question it.<3
Cabin Silkworm: Yvonne Marley, femcel. That is truly all i have to say about her. She pull's misinformation straight from the internet and spreads it like mold on moist bread. Joshua MacHeath, tictok eboy, he can make a killer flower necklace though. Joshua will sit with the kids who can't/won't participate in certain camp activities and teach them how to make bracelets out of, well, anything and everything!
Cabin Tarantula Hawk: Lucille Bertuccelli,👁️ she's an older counselor, a sweetheart though. Not only does she keep cabin tarantula hawk up am running, but she also is in charge of the arts and crafts cabin! Gracie Liu (👁️lowkey, i forgot gracie liu existed, so all of her color are just inverted. no matter how you picture her in ur brain, just invert the colors)
Cabin Ladybug : Soren Baltimore, 👁️a bit of a quiet lad, it wears a cape given to it by fennel. soren wears pants that are cover completely in pockets, those pockets are practically infinite, anything you can imagine, soren has it in its pockets. Fennel Marlborough, 👁️our favorite camp taxidermist (don't tell anyone) they have the art of life preservation down to a tea, now if they can only get em to start moving again. soren and fennel are tightly nit, they made up two languages, one between only them and the other for the entire cabin.
Cabin Widow-spider: Matthew Napoleon, 👁️he is the void, don't be scared of him just based on looks though. Matthew will teach you about things you thought you knew (you didn't). Because matthew cant actually talk, due to all that void, he communicates in a fun mixture of sign language, charades, and various static esc noises. Matthew is also involved, if not running, most water based activities (and sometimes juno+mila helps out around the cabin)
the cafeteria: Mila Alcorn 👁️and Juno Matsouka, 👁️i say "and" instead of giving the two separate descriptions because they are inseparable, trust me, i've tried. these two fish folk work together in the kitchen to provide food for all the campers at camp this and that. Practically gourmet chefs, these two are quite creative. Even though there's two of them, you'll never have to worry about chaos in the kitchen, mila and juno always compromise with each other, causing for some never before tasted flavors
special doodads
head of camp: Warren Earthman,👁️ he's a, stern, tired, grumpy, old man. also the walls in are covered with different brands and types of chainsaws. beside the threatening aspects of him, he also openly picks favorites and doesn't listen to anything that doesn't openly concern him or the government.
the rot: Sydney October Sargent, a weird rotting man who lives in the woods surrounding the camp. Don't get to close to him without a gas mask, please, the spores that emanate off of him are damn near hallucinogenic. Besides the skin falling off his bones, the various species of bugs living within him, and all the mushrooms/fungus living from his decomposing self, he's almost harmless. I mean, he's in shambles, a corpse who just won't let go, just try not to breathe near him.
Martime: Jedidiah A.M. Martime, a man who keep appearing in my dreams, I don't have dreams often, why is here, in color no less. this annoying, clock obsessed, not even real, man keeps trying to tell me that he's "here for you," and "it's ok, you can take a brake, you have enough time." what that man needs to do is pipe down and accept the fact he doesn't even exist in the physical plane.

hi, i'm not the same anon but i would like to hear more about the fyuuture kid au 👉👈 especially about riddle!!
hello new friend, you picked someone who is having a real bad time in this au (゚ω゚;)
I am going to give some general information about Yutu and then move on to some Riddle specific stuff.
notes: they/them used for Yuu, general au explanation can be found here, and the posts can be found on my masterlist under the series section.
Tumblr media
General Yutu Facts
"Yutu" is supposed to be a fake name fyuuture kid is using to help hide his identity, but I am open to suggestions on that. Originally he didn't remember his name and Crowley picked it out for him, but I like the idea of "Yuu two" being a nickname he had in both your world and Twisted Wonderland and picked as his alias to honor his parent. Yutu really admires Yuu, he has nothing but empathy for your situation and respect for your strength, and while he certainly fought with you from time to time (some Yutus more than others) he wants to be like you.
That desire was very much cemented when he heard about how you won against the overblot phantoms. Yutu's unique magic changes depending on who his dad is, but all Yutus have extensive experience in combat magic and have fought a lot of monsters. Including overblot phantoms, same as you. His fights didn't go as well though... he's extremely afraid of the Great Seven's phantoms and has regular nightmares about them.
Back to the names... I didn't have names picked out for every version of Yutu, but Riddle does happen to have been one of them. His real name was supposed to be March, yes like the march hare but if I'm honest I was more thinking about the saying "in like a lion out a lamb" because I thought that described Riddle's temper pretty well.
The other ones I picked out I still like are Merrin (I swear I found it on a list of mountain themed names??? But it means sea born or pearl of the sea), Laurie (yes like little women, his unique magic was supposed to something to do with painting), and Roland (I have an unironic love for French peerage ok please do not judge me).
Some of the Yutus were meant to have older siblings who stayed behind in Twisted Wonderland (Riddle! Yutu wasn't one of them), but that was very much an idea I didn't develop extensively since it was more left over from Fire Emblem Awakening. I wanted there to be a Lucina type older sibling character who was very protective of Yutu and wanting a future where he gets to stay in Twisted Wonderland and they get to be a happy family. But again I didn't cook this idea extensively so idk how to feel about keeping it as a part of the ayuu.
Anyway on to the Riddle specific stuff ¬‿¬
So that bit about Yutu's real name coming from a description from Riddle's temper: I like to leave what Yutu looks like up to the reader, but Riddle! Yutu if nothing else took two things from his father, his (lack of) height and his temper. His facial expressions when pouting and angry are eerily similar, and they both have a strong affinity for fire. Riddle! Yutu is a lot like Riddle Tsum now that I think about it? Very high energy and likes to jump around all over the place, but determined to be at least somewhat dignified.
Since traveling back in time Yutu has been "studying" with Grim to try and get his flames hot enough to burn blue to flex on his dad and to bond with the monster. He usually just ends up watching him though, the mental image he had of Grim vs what the little guy is actually like is really wild.
Back to the temper, unlike Riddle Yutu wasn't home schooled so he got into a lot of trouble for losing it on other students. He had a chip on his shoulder about not having a dad, having a parent with amnesia, and especially about being short oh god he is so spiteful about that. He got sent to detention a lot, and shamefully it made him fight with Yuu a lot too. Not that he hates Yuu, he was just very emotional and not always the easiest to deal with. His last few interactions with Yuu before they died were very strained, and he is filled with remorse for a bunch of stupid things he said.
When he gets to the point where he has to admit to Yuu who he is there is going to be a lot of crying and begging for forgiveness. He was a stupid, angry kid who just wanted to know who he was and didn't feel like he belonged lashing out at the one person who he knew wanting nothing but the best for him. He doesn't really feel the need to ask for forgiveness from his dad (yet)... by the time Yutu was isekaid into Twisted Wonderland Riddle had been corrupted by his overblot phantom and was wrecking the Queendom of Roses so he never really met the real Riddle until he traveled back in time.
He also got compared to Riddle a lot, Yutu isn't stupid by any means but because of all that time spent in detention he is a bit behind on the fundamentals. Not to mention all Riddle has done up to this point is practice magic and Yutu only just found out it was real so of course there was going to be a skill gap! But still, he's Riddle's son and Riddle was a very memorable student for Crewel, so Yutu was guaranteed to hear some comparisons. It didn't help the daddy issues though...
Speaking of Yutu's time at NRC, he did get placed into Heartslabyul by the Dark Mirror and he does know all 810 rules of the Queen's rules. He's not as obsessed with them as Riddle is but he still knows what he's supposed to do and tries to be on his best behavior. He was not interested in being dorm leader and wanted to instead focus on the things Yuu always encouraged him to do, like controlling his temper and getting good grades.
I sort of like the idea of his unique magic being the ability to grow/shrink because in the book Rule 42 of the Queen of Hearts says “All persons more than a mile high to leave the court" and I like the idea of him trying to use his spell to get out of arguments with his dad.
Riddle has no idea that Yutu hates him... at first. This is partially because Yutu is usually very polite to him and partially because he is utterly unaware of how much people are afraid of him in general, but he starts to pick up on it when he tries to interact with Yuu. He wants to have a private tea party with just Yuu? Well Yutu immediately starts acting like this is somehow scandalous and calls him out on his feelings in front of the prefect and he wants to lose it so badly- Yuu agrees anyway and Riddle immediately gets unreasonably smug while Yutu pouts. Take that sucker! He's going to study with the prefect all alone and since it's Riddle you know you really are just going to study.
I don't think Riddle really considers Yutu a rival for Yuu's romantic attention, partially because he isn't fully aware of what it is he feels for Yuu, but even if he was. Riddle knows that Yuu sees Yutu as someone under their care similar to Grim, they actually talk to him about it quite a bit and he has no issue with that. He is actually sort of grateful for Yutu's existence since it has given him an excuse to talk to Yuu more and let them know how he respects them.
Yutu's academic struggles are something that actually bring him closer to Riddle ironically enough. Riddle has created study guides for Yuu and Grim before, he has no problem doing that for Yutu and inviting himself over to give instructions.
"Did you not get a lot of help from your parents?" Riddle sounds nervous, and he should it's an invasive question to ask. Yutu wants to be angry, but when he looks at Riddle, he just feels sad. "Not that it is any of my business really but well. I just noticed you never really talk about them, even to Yuu."
"My dad wasn't really around." He forces himself to look at Riddle when he says it, but it doesn't make him feel any better. If anything it makes Yutu feel worse, he knows about as much about Riddle as Riddle knows about him now that he's forced to look at him. "And my other parent... they tried really hard. But I wasn't always willing to accept it."
"I can't say I understand what that would be like." Riddle looks like he is trying to and that should be what he wants, right? "My mother home schooled me so it's hard for me to understand that someone's parents wouldn't be a constant figure in their schooling."
"You were home schooled?"
Yutu didn't know anything about his grandmother, it didn't even really occur to him that he had one and once he learns about her... well it certainly makes things make a lot more sense. He doesn't want to meet her, but he is curious about what she thought about his parent. What would she think about him? Does he even want to know?
My last concrete thought is that Yutu doesn't really get the whole horse girl thing. He is sort of afraid of horses actually, but I can see him maybe wanting to ride with Riddle once their relationship gets a bit better just to do something with him.
I like the idea of Riddle! Yutu being very into baseball for some reason and there's no way he's going to convince his dad to do that with him ha. Well not in this timeline anyway, I can see good timeline Riddle doing a bunch of research on baseball so he can talk to his kid about it. And showing up to all his matches to scream in support of his kid instead of at the coaches. He is breaking the cycle we love to see it.

Being a Magical Girl in Gotham (Platonic)
Part 1 Part 3 part 4
A continuation from the last part. I think I’m gonna later add stuff about y/n meeting other hero’s and villains plus some oneshots instead of just headcanon stories
Once again sorry/not sorry if characters are out of character . Also this is continuing y/n’a journey of continually getting more villains and hero’s to adopt them lol.
Y/n is literally becoming these Criminally insane villains’s emotional support child lol. And y’all can’t stop me from making that happen
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Months within your friendship with Damien your a regular visit to the Wayne manor
And Damien is more than pleased with this since he now gets to brag to his older half-brothers
You can only giggle as the youngest Wayne drags you away before any of the others are able to talk to you
Damien at the manor enjoys spending time out in the garden with you
Having small picnics as Titus lounges beside the two of your in the grass near the expertly planted gardenias in full bloom
Turns out he likes helping Alfred with the garden quite a bit
Turns out he likes helping Alfred with the garden quite a bit
Turns out he likes helping Alfred with the garden quite a bit
Turns out he likes helping Alfred with the garden quite a bit
Turns out he likes helping Alfred with the garden quite a bit
Turns out he likes helping Alfred with the garden quite a bit
They even planted a small raspberry bush that only the two (now three) of them knew about
It’s rare to feel as if sunlight was a thing in Gotham but out here it’s almost rare that there wasn’t a beam of golden light hitting your face
If you make a flower crown for Damien he’ll wear it with a bit of bitching but the minute his brothers make a comment about it he’s pulling out his sword
Speaking of which, he shows you his sword collection!
An honour only you get to see without the threat of being stabbed as an extra bonus
He has a wide array of them, all from different areas of the world and different time periods
It’s actually really impressive
(Definitely asks if you want one and plans to get you one as a gift)
His room is bigger than your apartment and half the shit there would cover 4 months of rent
You don’t mention this though
He has a lot of imported furniture from what looks to be the Middle East and Asian descent
If you ask about it he’ll actually be really happy to explain their origin and history
He’s very passionate about history and seems to have a ton of knowledge on all arrays of most countries
Definitely gets worried when you mention have cup noodles for dinner 4 times in a row and demands you stay for dinner
You do and it ends up being really fun
At school after that he makes sure Alfred packs an extra lunch for you to have
Mr Wayne himself is actually really nice and much different from the Himbo he’s often portrayed as by the press
He’s extremely friendly to you, always offering a smile and small hello when Damien drags you off to wherever
He doesn’t seem to mind you being in his home infact he seems to encourage it
When Damien had chased his brother Dick around for trying to spy on you and him Bruce sat down and talked with you
He actually thanked you for making his son happy
Also asks if maybe he could speak to your parents sometime
You just say that their usually really busy abroad but you’d that get a letter from them since you don’t have a phone
You can tell by that alone he’s worried, like real worried at the thought of you basically living alone in a city like Gotham
A week later you forge a note from penguin lol. That man has good handwriting but definitely lost a few years on his life when you said it was for faking a note from your nonexistent parents
Bruce might be considering to adopt you and his sons are fully encouraging this
At some point in going to the manor you began sometimes helping Alfred with some small chores by delivering Bruce’s tea
He finds it to be a pleasant surprise and give him more opportunities to speak to you
Bruce finds you to be a impressive young lady. One who’s wise beyond their years and someone who has a unknown but similar weight on their shoulders
It worries him since he sees himself in your eyes
He begins connecting some dots about the rumours he’s heard about some young girl vigilante?, he’s not sure what exactly to label them as
But isn’t 100% sure it’s you since they apparently look 17 and your clearly 15
He puts a pin in it though
Anyways you can bet that he’s now inviting you to his gala’s so Damien more at ease plus give you a nice night to relax
He pays for clothes and even gifts them to you afterwards
The minute he finds out your an orphan you best bet he’s pulling out the papers-
Dick is super excited to meet you! Minus the fact that Damien is basically hissing at him and dragging you away
When he does get to speak to you he kinda reminds you of Nightwing with how pleasantly chatty he is
He asks about how your school is, if your enjoying your stay and what you think of lil Dami etc
Probably suggests to Damien about having you over for a sleepover and that he’ll take over his patrol for that night
Damien his heavily considering it
Probably calls you stuff like “kiddo!” And some alternation of your name
Has Alfred bring you and Damien snacks when y’all are hanging out
Listen he’s just really invested in the fact that Damien has a seemingly normal friend whom he cares for
It means he’s learning and adjusting to a relatively normal life outside of being Robin which was something he always worried about
Like Bruce he kinda gets worried about how your parents are apparently abroad and left you, a 15 year old child alone in Gotham of all places
Gets even more worried when you refuse to get a ride home
Sometimes spies but always gets caught and chased off by Damien who’s slightly annoyed
He means well
When you join for dinner he likes to tell a lot of stories and listen to your own
Basically already considers you a part of the family and is waiting for Bruce to slap out those papers
Might try to pry about who’s your favourite superhero just to see everyone at the table silently hope
His hope is crushed when you say it’s Wonder Woman
Then Everyone’s hood is crushed when you say your favourite male superhero is supermen
Clark probably hears their crushed souls from metropolis lol
Tim is just plain confused and wonders if your being paid or need help
He might love Damien as his little brother but he also has the scars to prove that little shit ain’t always a law abiding citizen
When he does realize though that Damien didn’t threaten you nor is paying you (why did he even jump to that conclusion?) he finds himself curious
Bruce forbids him from looking through your entire internet history and trying to find every possible trace of your existence
You notice early on how he’s addicted to coffee (just like Nightwing mentioned about red Robin)
Like with Bruce you help Alfred and deliver him some from time to time
This along with the limo rides with him and Damien give you the chance to actually talk to him
He’s really passionate about his goals, talking about his passions and plans in life
He seems to be hard working like you are, but to a worrying degree where he pushes himself to the limit (like you do)
It’s somewhat worrying to you as you find him lunched over his laptop with 6 empty mugs of coffee and bags under his eyes
You can’t say much since that would be hypocritical
But that doesn’t mean you can’t distract him for a bit as to give home a break he desperately needs!
You use Rigel to get his eyes away from his computer screen. The small white ferret making him pause as he scoops them up
Also riddles galore, some of which you might’ve borrowed from Riddler (he’d be so proud)
He’s pretty determined in getting to know you after a while, figuring out what you like and don’t, or what type of food you preferred
It might kinda seem a bit creepy at first but you realize that this is his way of trying to show his care. Odd but kinda amusing once you realize he told Alfred and now you have an entire menu catered to your taste
At some point he might’ve peaked at your records and is confused when he can’t find anything
He hasn’t told Bruce but he’s getting more worried when he digs deeper to see you seemingly live alone in a shit part of Gotham
Realllly wants to tell Bruce but also doesn’t cause that’ll mean he disobeyed him and might get another “friendly” visit from Damien’s batarangs
Whoops…oh the pain of being too smart
Jason shows up one day while your hanging out with Damien out of fucking nowhere
Like your just laying in the grass, petting Titus and then bam there’s a shadow looming over you
He seems kinda pleasantly surprised that “demonspawn” has a friend
Teases the shit out of Damien in front of you in a very big brother kinda way
Whenever he stops by he brings McDonald’s like a cool bring bother or uncle
Damien complains it’s bad for your health but stops when you mention that McDonald’s is something you can barely afford so you appreciate the free food
He may be a little shit but he’s not gonna be an asshole about that…at least not anymore compared to when he first arrived
He occasionally picks you and Damien up from school or drops by at lunch to deliver some special food from Alfred
One day when Damien was sick and it was raining hard when you didn’t have a proper jacket her gave you his leather one
He let you keep it, saying that he had plenty of other one’s and that you suit it better
Mentions literature a lot, even seems to have a small version of pride and prejudice tucked in his pocket
Jason likes to joke that his white streak in his hair is from learning about Damien having a BFF now
Damien in return calls him geezer and encourages you to do the same
He’s the person who immediately notices when you have any bruises other than Damien
Reallly tries to convince you to let them drive you home when you once mentioned the area you live in
He’s gonna get more white hair if you mention the fact that your apartment doesn’t have a proper lock on it and you have to prop a chair against the door
If Damien doesn’t gift you that sword soon he’s gonna give you a pocket knife
He fucking adores Rigel, loves it when the interdimensional god ferret lays in his hair
Takes photos and jokes that their now his white streak
You caught him using a baby voice with Rigel and his brothers won’t let him live (hah) it down
Alfred is half convinced that your some type of universal sign by some god lol
Best grandpa
He secretly bakes you and Damien cookies just for you two and even leaves some that have chocolate chip smiley faces
As stated before by Damien’s request he begins making you a lunch as well for Damien to deliver since he wants you to have a good meal
God knows how much he has wanted another calm person in this household
Sometimes in your lunches you find little bundles of fresh lavender and notes saying “have a splendid day” and “do your best”
He really appreciates you helping him out even though he didn’t ask. He mostly lets it happen so you have the chance to spend time with other members of the family
He makes little treats for Rigel
Due to Tim he has your taste narrowed down and always makes sure to have your favourites when you visit
May or may not have thought of room decor if Bruce adopted you
He senses your an orphan. He just knows but wants the others to figure it out rather than saying it
If you’ll indulge him he loves talking about old films and classic literature like Dracula
He was actually the one who introduced Jason to it and would love to turn their two person book club into 3
Finds Rigel very cute and lets the small animal curl around his neck
He finds it really nice if you want to join him in cooking and would most definitely teach you new recipes
Except his cookie recipe cause that one is a pennyworth family secret
You once tried to lie about not being sick and he gave you a knowing look before giving you a care package of his chicken noodle soup and some medicine
Your half convinced he’s not human but not in a bad way, more of a “is he a god?” Or “is he like Rigel” sorta way
You get legal advice from Harvey about the entire ordeal. The past DA offering to do more than just legal advice if you’d like
You say that you want to handle this on your own so he and two-face relent
But not before saying that the offer stills stands
Both Harvey and Two-face enjoy your presence for various different reasons but the important one is that you treat them as their own separate people
With Harvey you talk to him about what it was like going to collage and being the DA
He often talks about his friendship with Bruce and their crazy times when they were younger
He often wonders how he’s doing
You want to tell him but know that doing so could reveal who you possibly are
Probably tells you if the time Bruce “accidentally” poured wine on an asshole professor in a white suit after harassing a few female students
Probably tells you legal loopholes that your not supposed to know but you appreciate it anyways
Two-face on the other hand is kinda more difficult to talk to but once you get past his walls he talks and talks
Most definitely tells you how to pick locks and evade taxes, I’m sorry but that’s what he’s gonna teach you
At some point he probably offers to “talk” to your landlord about why he illegally raised your rent
Tells you about how corrupt the world actually is
Teaches you to flip a coin
He and Harvey get a lot of bouts of pain due to the burns so there are times they’ll go quiet out of trying to deal with it
With maybe a little magic from Rigel you make a special burn cream that helps alleviate that pain
Listen…you get he’s a bad person and all but you don’t like seeing people in pain
It’s been that way ever since you were young and having to watch kids your age suffer
Maybe it was always in your nature to help others no matter how much it weighed on you
It’s probably the reason why Rigel had chosen you in the first place
Yeah, that makes sense
Mr freeze is kinda a sad grandpa that you find yourself visiting to check up on
You had fought his shadowmite when the anger from his wife’s condition rose up again
After that your welcomed to his small lab for as long as you can due to the cold
He often laments about Nora. How she would’ve loved to meet you
You always say that she will one day which gets a small melancholic smile
You can only spend up to maybe 30-45 minutes with him before your begin to freeze despite you changing your magical uniform to better suit the temperature
If you request it he’ll show you how to ice skate and finds it really amusing if you succeed and then slip into a pile of snow
Speaking of snow, you like to leave little snow men hidden around for him to find
He sometimes talks to Nora’s body about you when alone. He mentions how he’s been feeling a bit better as of late due to you popping by
You don’t know this but he and Nora always wanted a child. So having you around kinda helps fill a hole in his heart that he long thought was frozen over with grief
I like to think that in his spare time he’s taken up knitting and made you a pair of matching mittens, scarf and hat
Their a teal blue with little snowflakes designs on them with maybe a little hidden snowman
He sometimes sneaks in ice or snow puns to watch you process it for a minute and then laugh
It makes his day
Probably tells you that if you need a good murder weapon he can make you a good icicle that’ll melt away therefore removing evidence
It’s hard to think he’s a super villain until he brings up shit like that
If you literally give him anything as a gift he’ll end up cherishing it
You actually end up meeting Waylon by accident in the sewers since you use them as a kinda secret passageway across Gotham
Your surprised at meeting the literal giant man who looks like a crocodile but you don’t end up panicking much
Same shit different day in Gotham
He lets you pass and even guide you to where you needed to go
After that it kinda becomes a system of meeting him and talking as he guides you through the Sewers (even if you knew them by heart at this point)
You like giving him leftovers that you have even if you also need them
The two of you now have a small tradition of sitting and enjoying a cup of ramen once in awhile
He teaches you a few French phrases and tells you of New Orleans
Talking of the mixed French and American culture of the city
At some point he probably tells you to visit for him if you get the chance. You promise to do so and being back a souvenir for him
Of all villains you feel the most sympathy for him. Someone who was born with something that they couldn’t control and being ostracized by society for it
Eventually becoming what they feared in the first place to survive
At some point you trust him enough to tell him about how you live alone. Barely getting enough to scrape by and living in a shitty apartment after running away from an orphanage
He lets you sit on his shoulder despite the fact you can basically fly a few feet off the ground
Also likes to mess up your hair with his giant clawed hands
He always makes sure to be slow just in case cause he doesn’t want to accidentally hurt you. You tell him he doesn’t and that you felt with worse but that in turn makes him even more gentle in being near you
During the winter you buy him a heater incase his condition also leads him to being cold blooded (which he is)
He definitely appreciates it since winters are really rough for him
Definitely finds the contrast of cute, small innocent magical girl and then giant, hulking, scaled lizard man being friends to be hilarious
During this time you begin to notice the Shadowmites kinda begin to thin out
It makes you a bit more relaxed and off guard (big mistake)
What had initially started out as a small gathering of them soon evolved into them all attacking at once
Biting and clawing as you did your best to stop them
By the end of it your left barely conscious, their hosts left laying on the ground passed out from having their energy drained
You could only hope they’d be ok as you find yourself stumbling towards the only place you could think of
Library
You move purely out of instinct, your body moving on its own as your weakened abilities help you move from rooftop to rooftop
Today was luckily one of the days you’d meet up with Hood, at least meaning if you passed out there you’d be relatively safe since your apartment was too far away
When you get there you almost sob out of relief when seeing his red helmet that matched the colour leaking from your form
Dark blotches of red contrasting against the lighter colours of your uniform

Hi, I saw you did a request for Tim Drake during your kinktober list, but like nothing after that.
I was wondering if you could do one where Tim has a crush on the reader, him (the reader) having a demon like mutation. (Basically a Teifling from DND)
The reader looks all intimidating and aloof, however he is very affectionate towards people how are close to him.
I think it would great if Tim tries flirt, but he's so awkward he fucks it up everytime.
I'm sorry if you don't like writing for Tim, you don't have to if that's the case. I just really love the caffeine addicted anxiety bird.
Tim Drake x “Tiefling” male reader
Headcanons
Tumblr media
I wish I could say I knew more about Tieflings, but I’ve only played DND very few times, and only had one character who was a Tiefling, so I’m just gonna try my best, hehe.
I was also somewhat inspired by nightcrawler from x-men for this reader :)
I also love Tim, I just haven’t gotten any requests for him before, but he is very much on my list of characters I write fore ^^
You had originally not been a part of the justice league, not even close. You had worked alone most of your life, though to had partnered up his magic users in the past, most notably John Constantine, who after having run-ins with your parents became a common figure in your life.
You were what most called a meta, but in reality, you were actually the child of two very powerful hellish beings. You had been born a human but on your 6th birthday you had mutated into a figure that fit your parentage most.
In the beginning you didn’t know your origin and your birth parents had shunned you. Turns out your hell parents couldn’t carry a child of their own, so they had used magic to have you be born by a couple on earth.
Your earth parents had not been kind when you one day turned blue, grew horns, a tail and other non-human features. They had actually tried to get rid of you because they thought you were cursed.
That was your first meeting with Constantine, after your earth parents had sold you to some less than friendly people who wanted nothing but bad things for you and other meta kids they had stolen or bought.
Apparently multiple kids there had been magic or not even human but of otherworldly descent, so Constantine was the ones to find you.
Apparently, he had recognized some of your features, the curve of your horns, the shade of your blue, the yellow of your eyes and the curve of your tail. He had offered to bring you to your hell parents.
You didn’t understand at the time, but when he brought you to hell and to the two people who had been your less than human parents you couldn’t help but feel relief to some point. You weren’t a monster or a curse and had parents who loved you.
Your hell parents wanted you to be cut off from the human world, but you treasured it even though you had only lived in it for 6 years, so Constantine kept coming around to work as some kind of anchor between you and earth.
He taught you magic and called you Tiefling as a nickname. He even taught you spells that could help you change your appearance to be more human, though your eyes stayed yellow, your ears pointed, and you had sharper canines.
Constantine and your hell parents taught you many things you needed to survive, and you had become very interested in seals, runes and anything like it, becoming quite the expert at a young age.
You were able to create large and confusing seals and summoning circles, and read ancient texts even the older demons couldn’t understand. Your hell parents and Constantine had been quite proud when you one-upped a cocky elder demon in reading and deciphering runes.
Along with runes you had pretty much coined teleportation as one of your quirks. You’d always disappear in a cloud of black smoke, even though you could do it without the effects, it was just funnier this way.
It was because of your extreme skill with runes that you were called to help the Justice League. Apparently, their magisters Zatanna and Dr Fate had found a very extreme summoning circle, the world ending kind, but they couldn’t figure it out.
They had even roped Constantine into trying to decipher it, but they all feared that poking at it would end badly and summon whatever it was made to summon.
In the end Constantine admitted to knowing an expert, and though he hated working with the League he knew this kinda seal couldn’t be left alone, so he contacted you.
The League didn’t really know how to react when Constantine’s contact was someone as young as you, you couldn’t be much older than Red Robin, so anywhere between 18 to your early 20s, if they went off human ages.
Some of course wanted to ask you questions immediately, feeling on edge about a meta or if Constantine was to be believed, demon, in front of them.
Most seemed cautious, and nobody noticed how Tim was having a moment. The moment you stepped out of the portal his heart started doing flips, and if he hadn’t mastered a poker face, he knew he would have been bright red and stuttering already.
Most left you alone as you worked, but Tim couldn’t help but make his way over and try to start a conversation. Kon, Bart and Cassie would later tell him it had been a painful sight.
Tim had tried to casually lean up against the table nearby, but his arm had slipped so he ended up leaning up against the wall instead. Normally you would have been annoyed by being bothered when deciphering, but the flustered hero made your tail wriggle.
Tim stayed around as you worked, at some point becoming a bit more comfortable and the two of you fell into conversation. Though, Tim did still seem quite flustered as he tried to “shoot his shot” as Dick called it, and failed miserably each time.
You couldn’t help but find Red Robin quite charming in his own way though, it was pretty cute to watch him try to flirt even though he seemed to have absolutely no talent in doing so.
When you were finished deciphering and destroying the summoning circle you ended up giving red Robin your phone number, don’t question how it was possible for him to contact you in hell, you didn’t know yourself.
It had been so hard to keep yourself from snickering at how the bottom half of his face had gone beet red and he had started stuttering, clutching onto his phone that you had just put your name into.
After this you started hanging with Tim and his friends some more, also working closer to some of the younger heroes around your own age. You never became an official league member, not wanting to be mixed up in all the weird things they did.
Your hell parents also almost had a fit when they found out you were working with superheroes of the human world, not because they had anything against heroes but because it put you in danger.
All the way through this Tim had tried in different ways to flirt or ask you out, you almost pitied him because it never seemed to work out for him. He always got too flustered and would choke on his words and stutter. It was very cute, but you almost wanted him to be able to finish his request to ask you out.
The other friends of your group started placing bets on just how long it would take Tim to successfully ask you out, you even had some money in the pool.
You couldn’t say you didn’t want Tim to ask you out, as you had very quickly developed feelings for the hero, your tail even going as far as you wrap around the man as if it had a mind of its own.
You had been so embarrassed the first time it happened that you just teleported right back to hell, your face going a darker shade of blue as you blushed. It had ended up with you hiding away in your room, too embarrassed to look at anyone.
You almost threw your hands in the air and cheered as Tim finally seemed to have found a method that worked for him, at least in his own way.
Before, he had tried to go above and beyond to make a display or ask you out in romantic ways, like giving you flowers or something just as romantic, but he had always forgotten what he planned on saying or had started stuttering.
One day he just sat down beside you on the couch, and though he was bright red, simply asked if you would like to go on a date. Nothing complicated or extreme like you had a feeling many had told him to be, it just felt very Tim to just be upfront about it like this.
You had blushed but smiled, your tail coming up to wrap around his waist to pull him closer to you. You of course agreed, and you couldn’t keep you smile off your face for the rest of the week as your tail never seemed to stop wagging.
Tim had gone even redder when you pulled him close, but he had seemed almost over the moon when you agreed on the date, he had to use all his bat training to keep himself from jumping up and celebrating.
After months of failing to flirt and ask you out he had finally done it, now the problem was coming up with a date that wouldn’t leave him stuttering and stumbling like a fool, that was gonna be hard.

Mr. Russo (Billy Russo x Secretary!Reader)
Author’s Note: I’ve had this fic and other Billy Russo stories in my drafts for ages, and I figured while I was working on other Daredevil and Moon Knight fics, I’d throw in some of these older ones that I’ve never posted. I think the original intention was for this to be longer and a multi-part series, but I don’t like that idea anymore. I cut about a thousand words, and I might include those as a bonus separate part--I’m not sure yet. Enjoy! :)
Summary: Working for Billy Russo wasn’t a challenge like most people would expect. You know how to do your job and how to do it well. One late night of working allows something about your past come to the surface, changing the trajectory of the relationship you share with your boss.
Warnings: Fluff, Billy softening up, angst (mentions of crappy experience in New York and the foster care system/Billy Russo being brooding and sad/hurt and rage/delicious tension), implied smut, cursing, mentions of addiction (drugs/alcohol)
Other Characters: Frank Castle
Word Count: 5,495
Tumblr media
Another day in the books. Although everyday at Anvil is never the same, it can get a little monotonous. You answer the phone, respond to emails, draw up contacts, and do whatever Mr. Russo needs.
Oh, Mr. William Russo.
Intelligent, suave, cultured, and the definition of sex on two legs.
He works so hard in his business, and he cares about what he does. Anything that you can do to make his day less stressful, you’ll do it, and that definitely came in handy today, even if it still is a late night for him. You catch a glimpse at the clock on your screen—7:14pm. With a tired sigh, you hear him shuffle some papers around and push his chair out, moving a short distance to slide on his coat. You hear the click of his Italian leather shoes move closer to where you sit, and you smell his expensive cologne in the gentle breeze he brings by. You watch him as he walks with a purpose when he stops in his tracks, turning around to address you. “Do you ever even go home?” he asks.
“Sir?” you ask, unsure where he’s going with this.
“You’re always here before I get here—no matter how early—and you always stay after me. I just don’t get it.”
“I do my job,” you tell him. “It’s that simple. I do it, and I make sure that I do it well.”
“You also deserve a break—a life. Don’t you have friends around to go out for a drink or anything?”
“No, actually,” you admit. “Last friend I made in New York was one from when I got here. She then took 180 dollars from my wallet and ran away, making me scrape by for food for the rest of that week. My family isn’t nearby, either, if that was your next question. Work—this—is all I have, really.” Oh God, do you sound pathetic.
“Where is your family?” Mr. Russo asks, slowly moving back to your desk.
You scrunch up your bottom lip in a frown and shake your head. “I don’t know. I grew up in the system. I’m assuming whoever my parents are, they live in the Boston area, since that’s were I grew up.”
His expression softens to something to one that you have only seen twice before. It’s not quite pity, but it’s deeper than sadness. “You grew up in the system?” he asks softly.
You give a small nod. “It changes you pretty quickly.”
“It does.” His lips part like he wants to say something more, but he presses them in a tight line and sticks his hand in his jacket pocket, his eyes swirling with a mix of emotions.
“Is there anything I can do for you before you leave, Mr. Russo?”
He blinks a few times before he shakes his head. “N-No,” Billy breathes. “Have a nice night, (Y/N).”
“You too, sir.”
Tumblr media
There’s flowers on your desk when you walk in the next morning. How are there flowers on your desk?
“Hello?” you call into the office, sliding pepper spray out of your purse. “Anyone here?” Dead silence. Nothing looks out of place except for the bouquet, and after a quick sweep of the office, you see that you are alone. You look through the flowers and don’t see any card. Logging into your computer, you quickly pull up surveillance to see who delivered these. Your jaw drops when you see Mr. William Russo himself walk in at four in the morning with the same giant vase of flowers to your right. You lean back in your chair, your brain not really comprehending what you just saw. After a few minutes, you move towards the beautiful assortment of white gardenias, yellow lilies, red tulips, and magenta lilacs. You stick your nose to the flowers and take in a perfume of scents that make your chest happy and bring a smile to your face, and that smile remains on your face as you get to work and organize Billy’s day.
“Mornin’,” Billy says with a nod, walking a few hours later, not acknowledging the assortment on your desk.
“Morning,” you respond as he moves closer. “Thank you,” you say just before he enters his office. You don’t need to turn around to know exactly where he is—about a stride and a half from being in the doorway to his office, his right foot mid-step. “They’re beautiful.”
He doesn’t respond, but he takes a minute before he continues his gait into his office.
The rest of the day proceeds as it normally does: you respond to client emails, answer the phones, do other office work, and hand Billy files, briefing him before his meetings.
“Have a nice night, (Y/N),” he says, adjusting his scarf on his peacoat as he walks past your desk.
“You too, sir,” you say. “And remember you have a 7:30 meeting tomorrow morning at the Four Seasons with Thaddeus Ross to discuss security for the SHIELD weapons conference.”
“Thank you for the reminder,” he says, turning to look at you, flashing you the faintest of smiles. “I don’t know what I’d do without you.”
“Well, considering you built this company from the ground up, I think you’d manage.” His smile grows a hair bigger. “Safe travels, Mr. Russo.”
The next few weeks proceed as they usually do, but you are dumbfounded yet again when you walk in Monday, about a month after you found the flowers on your desk.
“Morning,” Billy says, placing a coffee cup on your desk as he walks by. “Sweet cream cold brew, right?”
You turn in your chair and look at him, confusion and surprise written all over your face.
“Yeah,” you say. You notice he has a hot cup for himself in his hands. “You hate Starbucks.”
“I needed some extra caffeine this morning,” he shrugs.
“So the ‘shit-water jet fuel’ is what you were craving this morning?”
He nods, taking a sip of the drink in his hand. “Exactly,” he answers after he swallows. You can tell he still hates the brew.
“Well, thank you for thinking of me,” you say. “If you find yourself needing some more caffeine, just let me know and I’ll make a pot.”
His face says I’ll be taking you up on that in five minutes, but his lips say, “Thanks, (Y/N).”
The next morning, there is a bouquet of blush colored peonies, white gardenias, and purple roses on your desk.
Tumblr media
“Vultures today, huh?” Billy says as he comes out of his office and to your desk, placing some outgoing mail in your organizer, adjusting some of the flowers in the assortment of roses, chrysanthemums, and asters. “That phone hasn’t stopped ringing all morning.”
“It’s the political season,” you hum as you shift your gaze upward. “All the big wigs want the best security money can buy. You’ve made it clear that you and your people are the ones for that job.”
“You know how to flatter a man,” he chuckles, shaking some nuts you’re snacking on in his hand before plopping them in his mouth.
“While you’re here,” you say, picking up a few slips of paper, handing them to him in an ordered fashion. “These are those calls back you were waiting for, these are inquiries from the three biggest politicians running for Senate, this is a message from Frank wanting to know if you’re on for dinner at Karen’s, and these are the Ulrich files you were waiting on.”
“Thank you, paperwork Santa,” he says, moving his gaze to quickly examine what is in front of him. “And here I thought it was gonna be a slow day.”
“Around here? Unlikely,” you grin.
He is about to say something more when he turns his head to the ringing of his direct line in his office. “Sorry,” he apologizes. “We’ll talk more later.”
You turn back to your computer in astonishment. We’ll talk more later? Is this the same Billy Russo that hired you? And does he mean casual talk or work talk? He would have made it clear, wouldn’t he?
Tumblr media
“Anvil, this is (Y/N),” you say as you continue typing a contract on your desktop.
“(Y/N), hi,” you hear Mr. Russo say on the other end of the line.
“Is everything alright, sir?” you ask, spinning around in your chair and watching your boss  give you a little wave through the industrial loft windows.
“We’ve been over this, you can call me Billy,” he reminds. “We’ve known each other long enough.”
“Sorry, it’s a force of habit.” You have to suppress a blush. “What’s going on?”
“I just got off of a call about that veteran’s fundraiser,” he says, and you shift to flip through the calendar.
“The one on Saturday night?”
“Exactly. They asked me to present an award and introduce a speaker that night. So in addition to networking and schmoozing, I’m gonna need to do some more things.”
“Let me know what you need to have ready, and it’ll be good to go by Friday night.”
“Actually, I was hoping you’d come with me Saturday. With my upgrade in duties, they gave me a plus one.”
What? “I appreciate the invitation, but I don’t know if I have anything black tie like that,” you say.
“Don’t worry about it, I’ll have it all taken care of. So can I take that as I yes?”
“Y-Yes,” you stutter. “And—.”
“Perfect, you’re the best,” he says, having up the phone with a click.
Did your boss just ask you out? Or is this really just a work engagement?
Tumblr media
When you come home from work on Friday, you see a black dress bag hanging off a garment rack with black bag hanging next to it. Locking up and putting down your things on the table by your door, you slowly move over to it.
“Told you I had it taken care of,” the note reads on the bag.
“What did you do, Russo?” you breathe, undoing the zipper. Inside, there is a stunning pine green gown. You look at the label and your mouth drops open: Oscar de la Renta. Taking it out of the bag, you see that it has a v-back, but has fabric coming off of each shoulder to give it a kind of cape effect. You feel like you’re moving in slow motion when you dare look over at the jewelry bag on the right next to it, seeing Harry Winston embossed in gold lettering. Carefully, you take it off of the hangar and peak inside, seeing three boxes neatly arranged. Placing it on your breakfast bar, you pull out the large necklace box, opening it to reveal both a sparkling diamond necklace and its matching earrings. Shocked, you pull the other two boxes out and find that they are the corresponding bracelet and ring. As you look down in disbelief, you catch a Louis Vuitton shoe box at the bottom of the rack.
You sit down on the barstool, lightheaded about the luxury that is around you. As if on cue, you see Billy’s contact light up on your phone.
“I’m assuming you’ve seen what you’ll be wearing tomorrow?” he says after you pick up.
“It’s way too much,” you say. “I appreciate it, but all this is more—it’s too much.”
“It fits the event,” he shrugs off. “It’s a ritzy event full of high-rolling investors, contributors, and other people within the top one per cent. Trust me, you’ll fit right in.”
“I just . . .”
“It’s a lot?” You swear he’s smiling like a devil on the other end.
“A hell of a lot.”
“If it makes you feel any better, the jewelry is on loan,” he says. “But the dress and shoes are yours to keep. Oh, and before I forget, you have an appointment to get your hair and nails done tomorrow with Donna at the Marigold Spa. I’ll see you tomorrow.”
Before your brain can think to ask him more, he is off the line, leaving you stunned in your apartment.
Tumblr media
“Who is it?” you call from your apartment, responding to the rap at the door.
“Your chariot has arrived,” Billy says through the wood.
“I’m almost ready,” you say, nearly falling over as you try to put on the heels standing up. “Come in! It’s open.” You hear the door open and shut, and the click of expensive shoes against the vinyl floor.
“You know, for someone that works for a security company, leaving the door unlocked isn’t secure,” he teases.
“I knew you’d be over soon and I was still getting ready,” you say. “Just a courtesy.”
“To robbers.”
You chuckle as you successfully gain your footing in one of the shoes. “There’s water in the fridge if you’re thirsty,” you start as you slide on the other shoe, throwing a few last minute things in your clutch, and taking one final look at yourself in the mirror.
“I’m good," you hear him chuckle in a low timbre as you clack your way out of your room. “Thank you, though.”
“Alright, I’m all set to go,” you say as you enter the main living space.
Billy turns toward you and stands stock still. His eyes slowly look over your body from head to toe. It’s as if he’s drinking you in.
“Wow,” he finally says, his dark eyes twinkling in the lights of your kitchen.
“Well, the guy that picked it out has really good taste,” you say with a small grin and a blush rising up from your neck to your cheeks. “Thank you.”
He continues to look at you for a little while longer before he realizes that he’s staring.
“These are for you,” he says, holding out a bouquet of burgundy, cream, and lavender roses. “A little thank you for agreeing to come.”
“They’re beautiful,” you say, smelling them. You move to find a vase, getting the flowers settled before walking back towards Billy.
He puts out his arm for you to take.
“Shall we?”
Tumblr media
“I still can’t figure out how you manage to do it,” you say as you walk beside Billy after he schmoozes the last of the big-wigs in tuxedos.
“Do what?” Billy asks with a lift of his eyebrow.
“Work so well with these upper-crusty people. Some of them very clearly just a face at this fundraiser and don’t care the same way you do. I don’t know if I could do that.”
“Unfortunately, that’s just what the business is sometimes,” he sighs. “But then I remember that Anvil gives veterans an outlet when they get home—a legitimate career. Then it makes the schmoozing and pretending to care about their Hamptons houses easier.”
“That’s a great way to think about it,” you say softly.
“Sometimes that’s all you can do.”
Instead of walking to the direction of your table, Billy leads you to the edge of the dance floor.
“Care do dance?” Billy smiles.
“I can’t promise that I won’t step on your toes,” you say, feeling a blush prick at your cheeks and your ears.
“Don’t worry about it. I’ll have the band play something slow.”
You wouldn’t be surprised if his Marine-trained ears could hear how hard your heart is beating.
“How can I say no to that, then?” you say with a small smile, your mouth suddenly very dry.
Billy takes your hand and leads you in. As if the band knows, the song shifts to something slow. Billy holds one of your hands in his while the other rests on the small of your back, his palm spread wide, securely holding you as you both move across the floor.
“And here I was thinking you had two left feet,” he grins.
“Well, I guess it helps that it’s not a formal ballroom dance,” you blush. Seriously, he has to know how fast your heart is racing right now.
“Is this what you thought you’d be doing with your life?” Billy asks as you slowly move in a circle. “Being a secretary, dealing with executives and government officials, and going to charity fundraisers?”
“Isn’t it every little girls dream?” you smirk, quirking an eyebrow.
He chuckles, twirling you to the music before he pulls you back into frame.
“No, really,” Billy whispers. “What did you want to be when you were younger?”
You think about it, but only briefly. “An author, I think. With all the time I spent in the system, I always tried to figure out how I could get out or what it would be like when I did. I’d just write about it. It moved from that to creating these different worlds and different people that were everything that I wasn’t and everything that I couldn’t be. Those are what made me happy. Scholarships from those stories is what got me through college to get my undergrad.”
There’s something soft in his eyes, tender even, as he listens to you talk about your childhood dream. It’s soul-churning and completely devastating in every sense of the word.
“What about you?” you return. “I’m assuming that the military wasn’t six-year-old Billy’s dream.”
“No, it wasn’t,” he admits. “I wanted to be a baseball player. But there were things that happened when I was a kid . . .” He clears his throat. You’ve touched a nerve.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to—.”
“No, it’s okay. Saying that my childhood was shitty is an understatement, but it made me who I am and brought me here. In a way, I think the Marines was the only thing that made sense for me.” He gives you a gentle smile, pushing away the dark cloud that emerged on his face. “And just think: without it, we wouldn’t have met. And I don’t know about you, but our time together makes me happier.”
Your heart stops and leaps into your throat. He has to just mean as a coworker—maybe just even someone who isn’t an ex-Marine that he gets to see to break up his environment. You can’t let your mind go to these conclusions. It’d just be a disappointment, and he’s my boss. Still, you find yourself unable to look away from his hypnotic gaze, the tenderness in his expression making you melt. The song stops and he drops the frame, and you let your eyes flutter a few times so you can adjust your head out of the haze he has placed you in. Billy keeps his hand in yours as you stand, pointing his head towards your table.
“C’mon,” he says. “I heard the steak was supposed to be amazing.”
Tumblr media
“Did you have fun tonight?” Billy asks as you hand him a bottle of water, his elbow cooly leaning against the island.
“Surprisingly, yes,” you admit, taking off the heavy jewels. “I don’t know, I hear fancy fundraiser, and I don’t think ‘party.’”
“That’s cuz you’ve never been to a Billy Russo fundraiser,” he smirks.
“I guess those are the only ones worth going to, then.”
“You know, I’m really glad you came tonight.”
“You are?”
“You sound surprised.”
“Oh,” you blush, but a nagging question starts to echo in the back of your brain. “I-I didn’t mean to. Just tired.”
“Well, if that’s the case, I’ll let you be for the night,” he says with a soft smile, giving you hand a gentle squeeze on the island before he moves away. “See you Monday, sweetheart.”
Sweetheart.
Okay, that’s it.
“Are you only being nice to me because you found out I grew up in foster care?” you blurt as he walks towards the door. There’s no turning back now. “Before, you’d never say more than you needed to to me, and now for five months, you’ve gotten me flowers, you ask about my day, you know my coffee order, and you left me an insanely gorgeous gown and jewelry to wear to a fundraiser that I wasn’t supposed to go to in the first place.” You pause for a moment, processing that you’re probably running a bond that you’ve wanted for a long time, not to mention your job, probably. “What’s changed?”
“You know I grew up in the system?” he asks, his head turned to the side while his back is still to you.
“I do,” you answer. You had done some deep digging when you were applying for the job, trying to find out as much about the company and its founder as possible.
“Then you should realize that I sympathize with you. Pouring your life into something to move yourself as far away from your past as possible.”
“What I’m really hearing is that all of this from the last few months has just been pity,” you say bitterly, and you try to push away the feeling of tears stinging at your waterline. “And if that’s what this job has turned into, then I don’t need it. I know my worth, and it’s more than that—than whatever this is.”
Your statement causes him to spin around so fast you think he’s gonna get whiplash. He strides over to you so quickly you almost can’t process it. He drops his keys to the ground before kissing you hard, one hand on your waist as the other holds onto the back of your head. He almost knocks you off your feet, but his hands on your body assure that it can’t be a possibility. Your hands rest on his shoulder as your lips move against him, kissing him back just as urgently. His beard tickles a little, but you’re not moving in a way that makes it scratch. When Billy finally pulls away, you’re both left panting for air.
“It’s not pity,” he clarifies. “It’s admiration. I had always thought you were some brown-noser with daddy issues, but you always had this integrity and determination. And then . . .” he trails, his eyes intent and glassy. “I know that drive you have, and that fear of being a disappointment. Hell, that’s how I got here. I wanted to show you that we’re not that shit that happened to us. I wanted to show you that I care.”
“It’s a hell of a way to show it,” you say quietly, looking at his big brown eyes. “I, um . . .” you swallow hard and let emotion contort your face, reeling your feelings in before you continue. “Every time someone finds out, they treat me differently. I really didn’t want you to be one of those people. You might not have thought so, but the way you treated me before made me feel like I finally had a place, y’know? I had a purpose to do something. That I was needed and wanted.”
“I know,” he nods.
“I guess I’m just confused why now.”
“You’ve been my secretary for four years. You know things about me that I don’t even know all the time. You know things about me that you don’t need to know, but you care enough to. I’ve always wanted to know those things about you, but . . . I’m not great at communication with people that—.” He stops to clear his throat, furrowing his brows together. “The only good relationships I have are with Frank and Curtis, and that’s because we’ve been through hell and back with and for one another. I didn’t know where to start with you, because you just come in and you’re like this . . . force to be reckoned with. I guess that finding out we had something in common made me think I could know you better.”
Billy tucks some stray hair behind your ear as he looks at you. “I don’t want to go back to what this was before,” he says softly. “I like this. Having a friend. Connecting with someone. And . . . I like to think this has the potential to be more than that. Than friends.”
“Well, I guess I need to know if you kiss all your friends like that.”
A small smile spreads across Billy’s face. “Just the ones that use lemon shampoo and look good in designer dresses.”
“I’m not fired, am I?” you whisper. “Because I think a kiss like that is some kind of HR violation.”
“Not if you don’t want to be,” he responds. “I will say, though, the job market is tough right now.”
“Is this something we can do?”
“I’m willing to make it work if you are.”
You nod your head. “Let’s try it.”
Billy leans back in for a kiss, this one more gentle that the last, but just as deep. Your arms wrap around him and settle on his back, and you feel him lift you up slightly as he pulls you into him.
“We’re gonna do this slowly,” he breathes, brushing his nose against yours, his chocolate eyes staring into your soul.
“Okay,” you quietly agree. “Slow.”
Tumblr media
“We have different definitions of slow,” you hum as Billy presses a kiss to the back of your naked shoulder.
“Trust me, I wanted to, but I have a thing for brunettes in designer dresses,” he says, dragging his hands down the bare curves of your body in post-sex bliss. “And it looks just as good on the floor as it did on you tonight.”
You laugh as you roll onto your back, your head resting on his shoulder.
“Hi,” he says with a dreamy look on his face.
“Hi,” you say, returning his gaze. He leans down and presses a soft, tender kiss to your lips before resting his cheek on the crown of your head. You lay like this in blissful silence as his fingers play with yours, the pale moonlight trickling into your bedroom through the curtains. You think he has fallen asleep—and you almost have—when he shifts a little on the mattress.
“Did you ever think of finding them?” he asks quietly. You know exactly who “them” is.
“I did find them,” you say. “I found out all about them, too. A little after I told you about growing up in the system, actually—curiosity got the best of me.” You think about what you know, and the silence weighs heavy in the bedroom. “My father was an alcoholic, and my mother used all kinds of drugs. They had a short and nasty relationship and split before I was born. My dad worked on the docks, showed up one day drunk, hit is head, and drowned. Based on his obituary, I was six when he died. My mom sobered up around that time, got married, and lives in Cape Cod.” You feel hot, angry tears sting at your waterline. “Two kids, and a freakin golden retriever.”
“And I’m guessing you don’t want to reach out?” he asks carefully.
You scoff. “No. Didn’t want me then, won’t want me now. I’m a part of that past that she worked to forget. I don’t want to go near her with a ten-foot pole. Besides, if she wanted to know me, she’d find me. She’d find a way. And she hasn’t. That says all I need to know.”
Billy wraps his arm around you and pulls you close, pressing a long kiss to your forehead.
“She’s missing out on the best person that I know,” he whispers.
Too emotional to respond, you snuggle into him and nuzzle your head into the crook of his neck.
“Have you?” you whisper. “Found yours?”
“I found my mom,” he swallows. “She chose meth over me—she safe-havened me. From then on it was group homes.” He’s quiet for a moment. “I think I’ve made my peace with it all. Can’t change it. But it made me who I am, and I’m okay with who I am.”
You don’t ask any more onto the subject. Instead, you snuggle in closer to him.
“For what it’s worth,” you breathe. “I really like who you are, too.”
Billy turns so you’re huddled together chest-to-chest, his arms holding onto you tightly, kissing your forehead before tucking your head under his chin. You fall asleep to the sound of his beating heart.
Tumblr media
You practically jump out of your skin when you feel a pair of arms loosely wrap around your middle.
“Jesus, Billy,” you sigh. “You really don’t make a sound if you’re not wearing Italian leather shoes.”
His laugh comes out as a hum as he places a kiss on the back of your neck, right on a bundle of nerves he found out about last night.
“I woke up and you weren’t there,” he murmurs into your skin. “What are you doing?”
“What does it look like?” you grin as you turn the waffle maker.
He kisses your neck again before resting his chin on your shoulder. “I thought the guy was supposed to make breakfast.”
“Not in my house,” you say, running your fingers through his hair as you move to flip some bacon. “My place, my job to make you some food.”
“Fine,” he sighs, moving from you, but not before placing a light smack on your rear. “But I make the coffee.”
“You want any eggs?” you ask.
“Nah,” he says, pouring coffee grounds into the filter. “This all is more than enough. I don’t usually get to enjoy this part.”
“Well, if we’re gonna make a habit of this, it’s something you better get used to.”
You finish making breakfast in harmony, exchanging sections of the newspaper as you eat.
“Wow,” Billy chews, taking a sip of his coffee. “You’re destroying the crossword.”
“It’s a talent,” you smirk as you pause before filling in the rest of your answer. “Now, is it ‘ei’ or ‘ie’ in Steinbeck? I can never remember.”
“I guess you got cocky too soon,” he smiles.
“Yes, and I’m big enough to admit it. Which is it?”
“I’ll tell you, but it’ll cost ya.”
“Oh?” you say as his hand slides into mine, silently inviting you to get up and sit in his lap. You do, and his free hand squeezes your thigh.
“It’s gonna cost you a kiss,” he hums.
“Mm, you run a hard bargain, but I think I can afford that,” you smile, biting your lip as you press your mouth into his. It’s tender, and even with coffee in your systems, there’s something sexily sleepy about the embrace.
“It’s ‘ei’,” he breathes, his lips brushing against yours before placing another kiss on you lips.
“Thank you,” you say, filling in the squares and placing a soft kiss on the freckle just below his eye. His hand then gently holds your cheek, bringing your lips down to his. The kisses grow more needy, and just after he adjusts you so your legs straddle his lap, his phone starts to ring. Reluctantly, he pulls away and looks at his phone.
“Shit,” he hisses before he answers. “Hey, Frankie.”
“Brother, where are you?” you hear Frank ask through the phone.
“Yeah, no, I’m on my way,” he sighs. “I just got a little held up this morning.”
“Mm, yeah,” you hear him chuckle. “Where’d you find this one?”
Billy looks at you with warm, sparkling eyes. “I think she found me.”
“And the Grinch’s heart grew three sizes that day.”
“Yeah, shut up,” he chuckles. “I’ll be there soon.”
Billy hangs up to avoid any more snark over the line from his friend, but not before kissing you once more.
“I didn’t realize it was this late,” he sighs. “I’m sorry. I gotta go.”
“I know: ten o’clock runs with Frank, every Sunday. And if you go by the office, you have some extra workout clothes there so you don’t have to run in a tuxedo.”
“Nothin’ gets by you.”
“Nope,” you smile, popping the ‘p’.
You get up from his lap and begin to clean up the table while Billy moves back to your room to get his clothes.
“I will trade you one dress shirt for one very soft and fluffy robe,” he offers when he comes back into the kitchen, your Hello Kitty robe hanging from his finger.
“I guess I accept,” you sigh dramatically. You slide Billy’s shirt off of your body and hand it to him as he slides the robe onto your shoulders.
“I’ll see you tomorrow?” he asks, adjusting the collar on your robe.
“Tomorrow,” you nod. “Have fun with Frank.”
“Somethin’ tells me I’d be havin’ more fun here.”
He leans down to kiss you, repeatedly procrastinating his delay with each punctuation of his lips.
“Okay,” he kisses. “I’ll see you—.” Kiss. “—tomorrow morning—.” Kiss. “—bright—.” Kiss. “—and—.” Kiss. “—early.”
You giggle as he takes you in for more kisses. You pull away from his reach, only to be swept back in for one final kiss.
“I really gotta go, now,” he sighs, tucking hair behind your ear.
“I know. I’ll see you soon.”

Tumblr media Tumblr media
tenma tsukasa . . . 天馬司
X and you used to be very close when you were younger , but growing distant when you grew older . While you and Tsukasa had gotten closer recently , X had pulled you aside and demanded you stay away from him . But when he invited you to a sleepover , you just couldnt refuse him .
After a sunday full of laughter and playful banter , sweets and play - fighting , you had to go to school the next day , and you had forgotten some of your belongings at the Tenma household .
Finding you in the hallways at lunch , Tsukasa smiled at you , holding out your bag to you .
" Hey, you forgot your stuff at my place. I was thinking of dropping it off at your house, but a world future star just cannot miss practice. "
He smiled again as you giggled , taking your bag from his hands . As you walk back in the lunchroom , X's table was staring at you , with X glaring daggers into you as you simply waved and walked off to your own table .
Tumblr media
kamishiro rui . . . 神代類
Rui knew about X's existence , since he had noticed how they would glare at you when you're with him .
The morning after you had stayed at his house , you had forgotten the shirt you had worn to sleep .
So at school , but before morning classes , you were eating a small snack and on your phone before Rui had walked in , making eye contact with X to make sure they were watching before turning his attention back to you .
" Hm? Why am I here? You forgot your shirt at my house, and I'm simply here to return it. "
He watched as your flushed a slight red due to classmates glancing at you two with curious eyes , and X fuming with anger .
Before leaving , Rui bent down to whisper in your ear .
" This.. friend of yours. Needs to stop being so negative about us. "
He gave you and X one last sly smile before leaving .
Tumblr media
shinonome akito . . . 東雲彰人
You had originally visited at the Shinonome household because you were partners with Akito , building a 3D project for [ your choice ] .
But because the project had taken so much longer than you both had hoped for , Akito suggested you just stay over . Once your parents had agreed , your ' project time ' turned into a sleepover .
In a rush because you had a lot to do that school morning , you had forgotten one of your bags at Akito's house .
After school , Akito had to go see a teacher and couldnt walk home with you , so he gave you your bag at the school exit once the bell had rang .
" Over here! Here, you left this in my room last night. "
You flushed lightly at the gesture , taking the bag and thanking him before you turned around to a lot of stares thrown your way , specifically X's stare .
You decided to wave him goodbye and rush out of the school before anyone could question you .
Tumblr media
aoyagi toya . . . 青柳冬弥
You and Toya were close friends , visiting WEEKEND GARAGE every friday , and hanging out over the weekend .
You and the rest of Vivid Bad Squad decided to have a sleepover at Toya's house , playing Uno and watching An and Akito fight .
Amidst all the fun , you had forgotten an item or two at his house . And as the good friend he is , made sure to return it to you as soon as he could .
During passing period inbetween classes , Toya had come up to you at your locker and tapped your shoulder, stretching out the hand holding your bag .
" You forgot this at my house yesterday. Hm? What's wrong? Why are you looking at me like that? "
He noticed your reddened and embarrassed cheeks , but wasnt able to pinpoint why before he realized people were looking over at the both of you before letting out a whispered " oh . "
X was furious , not only because they had told you to stay away from Toya , but to be at his house had just left them stunned .
Tumblr media
this might just be me , but i think X finally got the memo .

Billy was not racist. He was trying to protect Max and Lucas both from his father, who would have harmed both of them plus Billy if he knew they were even hanging out let alone romantically involved. Billy was a victim of abuse at the hands of his father, and his mother abandoned him to his father despite knowing what cruelties he would suffer just to save her own ass. Was Billy an asshole? Yes. Was the shitty way he treated people especially Max okay? No, never. Nothing excuses it. But you try living with the sorts of abuses his father heaped on him, and on his mother before she left, and the abuses he would have been heaping on Max's mom too. I have zero doubt that Billy's father r-worded both Billy's mom and later Max's mom because "wifely duties" or some other misogynistic garbage. Billy would have overheard the sounds from it pretty much any time it happened while he was home. You try living with all that and see how YOU turn out. Billy did deserve a redemption arc. He got one of a sort when he sacrificed himself despite "the mindflayer's" control over him, all to save El, Max, Max's mom, and even people he hated. Because he knew what "the mindflayer" had planned. Did you not see Billy's tears when "the mindflayer" was speaking through him? Did you not notice Billy told Karen to stay away from him rather than give in to "the mindflayer" and kill her? Did you not notice Billy flat out lied to his father when his father demanded to know where Max had run off to? There's no way Billy didn't have some kind of clue where to find her. But he lied to his father, to shield her and to shield Lucas, from whatever harm would absolutely have come to them at the hands of Neil Hargrove. Billy is not the embodiment of evil you clearly think he is.
Did Billy somewhat sometimes care about his stepsister? Yes. Did he get abused by his dad? Also yes. These facts don't excuse him from his actions in both seasons 2 and 3.
In our early meetings of Billy he highly threatens to run over the party while they're on their bikes. A normal same human being wouldn't do that. He also beat Steve to the point the kids thought he might be dead. He continued beating Steve even once Steve had been thoroughly knocked out, and likely would've killed Steve if Max hadn't knocked him out.
Also YES HE WAS RACIST WTF ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT???? Did you know that Billy's line "certain type of people" in regards to Lucas, was originally a black slur? He was a racist character picking up the trait from yes his abusive dad. Just because his dad was abusive doesn't mean Billy didn't become racist because of his upbringing with him.
You can definitely say that line is to protect Max from abuse from her stepdad if he found out she was talking to a black boy. But it certainly wasn't protecting Lucas, billy couldn't care less about Lucas' safety (SEE TRYING TO RUN HIM OFF THE ROAD).
His character was written to be a bad person, accept this. Characters aren't always written to have redemption arcs or all be good people. He was a racist bully from the 80s with an abusive dad. Just because you think he's hot doesn't change these facts.
Also, abuse doesn't inherently make your character grow up to be a bully. Lonnie Byers is heavily written as an abusive father, even going so far as it was suggested he killed Will in season 1. But neither of the Byers grow up to be bullies. Eleven is brought up in an abusive environment and moves past these traits. Steve's parents are seen as hard on him and in some ways absent and neglectful and besides Jonathan we never see him fight anyone that wasn't for protection.
Billy is the only older character that shows complete disregard for the kids safety. And him dying in st3 doesn't forgive these actions nor rewrite his racist abusive character.
You're allowed to hate characters that are written to be the bad guys. No one attacks anyone for hating Dr Brenner because he's the villain. Many people including myself didn't like Steve in season 1 because he was written to be the popular asshole. Characters are written certain ways for reasons. So go enjoy your self insert fanfiction where you really just want Billy to be a hot ooc. But for the rest of us it's totally fair to hate on one of the villains of the series.

Word Count: 5,342
You had it bad for Eddie Munson and that was putting it lightly. He was the best friend of your older brother James. You guys had practically grown up together. When Eddie had moved into the trailer park to stay with his Uncle Wayne, he was just some scrawny little kid with a buzz cut. However, that never stopped him from standing up for himself, including the people he cared about.
That seemed like a lifetime ago, what was once admiration, slowly turned into a crush and now had become full-blown pining. The problem with that was Eddie didn't see you in that way. He only saw you as his friend's kid sister, even though you were eighteen now and out of High School. He still saw you as the baby of their group, that needed to be protected.
You were a late bloomer, so when you had finally started to blossom into a young woman; you had thought, finally, Eddie will see me as more than just some little kid. The only reaction you had gained from him that day was a glance and a quip about how chilly it was outside.
You had missed the blush that had spread across his face before he schooled his expression. With tears in your eyes, you had run off, holding back your sobs as Eddie and your brother chased after you asking what was wrong.
Eddie had felt horrible afterward for hurting your feelings. He had reacted without thinking, embarrassed at how you had made him flustered. He thought that you were the most beautiful girl in the world but was too shy to admit it. To make it up to you he had spent that whole summer raking yards and doing odd jobs to save up to buy you an EZ bake oven, complete with all the accessories.
You had begged your parents to get you one for your birthday and they had told you that you would have to wait until Christmas. You were disappointed but never complained, you knew money was scarce and didn't want to make your parents feel bad.
That was one of the things he loved most about you, you were so selfless and always considerate of others. The joy in your eyes as you jumped into his arms giving him a big hug was worth all the callouses and sore muscles he had gained.
Eddie was something like a mediator between you and your brother. He would always help keep the peace whenever you and your brother fought, which was often. Not to say that you and your brother didn't get along. He had a reputation for being a badass but deep down he was a softie, even if he refused to show it.
You were currently waiting on your brother to get home so he could take you to work. The concrete steps of your porch made your back ache as you tapped your foot impatiently, glancing at your watch as a sigh of frustration fell from your lips. "This is so not a good look," you thought angrily.
This was only your 2nd week at work and you were already showing up late. Every time you were late it had something to do with your brother. He either had a hot date to get ready for or something had just come up, leaving you scrambling to find a ride at the last minute.
The sound of heavy metal and tires screeching interrupted you from your thoughts. You lifted your head to see Eddie's van bending the corner on two wheels. He skidded to a stop in your makeshift driveway, causing dust to fly hazardously.
"Need a ride kiddo," he drawled with a joint hanging loosely from his lips. One hand was on the steering wheel and the other was draped precariously along the back of the passenger seat.
You grinned, your mood instantly lifted at the sight of Eddie. "Please," you replied as you got up, dusting off your backside as you made your way over to him. You swung open the door with a heavy creak and hauled yourself onto the seat, slamming the door shut once you were settled.
"Let me guess, James sent you because something important came up," you said sarcastically with a lifted brow.
He chuckled as he threw the car into drive and drove off. "You know your brother," he joked, looking at you warmly before merging into traffic.
The conversation fell into a comfortable lull as you stared out the window. The trees passed by in orange and red whirs. This was was your favorite time of the year, the perfect season for cuddling with someone special. You glanced at Eddie's side profile, admiring the curls that framed his face. The prominent slope of his nose as it curved downward, right above his full lips. He was perfect in every way to you, inside and out.
"Penny for your thoughts," Eddie said suddenly, snapping you out of your trance. You flushed heavily as he cast a quick grin over to you before turning his gaze back onto the road.
"Just wondering who I'm going to the fall festival with," you stammered nervously. "I have so many prospects to choose from," you added quickly before falling silent.
Eddie visibly tensed, his fingers tightening on the wheel. "I hope these 'prospects' know that they're going to be interviewed and interrogated before I allow them to take you anywhere," he retorted, his voice thinly disguised with bitterness.
You were taken aback by his sudden opposition. Irritation blazed through you instantly, making you lash out. "I'm not a kid anymore Eddie, I don't need your or my brother's permission to go out with a guy!" You turned towards the window, choosing to ignore him for the rest of the ride.
If you were being honest, you weren't entirely sure why you were upset. Your chest felt heavy with guilt, you knew that Eddie meant well, he didn't deserve to be berated just because of your repressed feelings for him. You bit your lip as you sat deep in thought.
Eddie pulled into the parking lot at Family Video, finding a spot quickly. He exhaled a heavy sigh as he looked over at you. You were turned towards the door and had folded your arms under your breasts, a cute pout on your dainty features.
"I'm sorry sweets, I just don't want to see you get hurt," he said softly.
Your resolve broke as you looked over at him to see him giving you his puppy-dog expression with his lips poked out. "I'm sorry too Eddie, I just want you— and my brother, to see that I'm not a little kid anymore," you admitted.
"I know your not," he said as he leaned over the console. Your breath caught in your throat, nervous at how close he suddenly was. He regarded you for a moment before ruffling your hair, gaining a cross look from you as struggled to contain your smile.
You smoothed your hair back into place and leaned over the console, giving him a soft hug. "You're such a goof," you mumbled against his neck.
A pretty blush spread across his nose, settling on the tip of his ears. You smirked as you opened the door and hopped out. "Picking me up later," you asked hopefully, batting your lashes at him.
"Of course, can't leave you stranded waiting on dingus," he joked.
You smiled, giving him a wave goodbye before heading in for work.
Eddie watched until you disappeared into the building, a small smile still gracing his lips, even as he pulled away into traffic.

"Earth to y/n," Robin called out waving a hand in front of your face pulling you from your daydream. You straightened up from your position of leaning onto the counter.
"Sorry," you laughed, embarrassed to have been caught daydreaming at work.
"Sooo, what or who is the reason you keep spacing out today," she queried.
"No reason, just tired is all," you replied lamely. You turned around and began to wipe down the counters for the thousandth time today.
"Yeah right, I'll believe that when Steve here stops using so much hair spray," she quipped, smirking at you.
"Hey, I'm right here you know and I do not use a lot of hair spray," he argued, annoyed at having been dragged into the conversation.
"Yeah, yeah so not the point right now. The point is that y/n can't seem to focus and I want to know why," she declared, folding her arms and staring at you questioningly.
You stared at her for a moment before dropping your eyes and sighing. "It's Eddie," you confess.
Her eyes widen with alarm before taking your hand into hers. "What's wrong, is he okay?" she asked worriedly. With everything that had happened with Vecna and the Upside Down, Robin had developed a soft spot for Eddie.
"No— I mean yes. I mean...fuck I don't know what I mean Robin. I'm just tired is all." You continue to rub the counter harshly, taking out your frustration onto the laminate countertop.
Robin grabbed the towel from you, tossing it out of reach. "What do you mean y/n, what's going on," she implored, staring at you in concern.
"I just want Eddie to see me as more than just some little kid," you yell out, startling  Steve and the customers he was waiting on.
"Sorry," you apologize as Robin guides you into the backroom for more privacy.
"Okay first, breathe y/n okay?" she says as she rubs your back gently. You take a few deep breaths, feeling yourself start to relax a little.
"Second, Eddie's an idiot if he still looks at you as a kid. Your fucking hot y/n, trust me," she asserts.
You flush at her words lowering your gaze bashfully. "I just love him and it's getting harder to pretend that I don't. I wish that I could get him to see me differently."
"I think I might know how to fix that," Robin says with a gleam in her blue eyes. You listen intently as she tells you her plan.
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■
You're sitting in your room surrounded by shopping bags. With the help of Robin, you both went shopping on your lunch break. Nancy had met up with you, after phoning her and giving her the rundown of what was going on.
According to Robin, Eddie needed a gentle push to help speed things along. She was certain that some revealing yet still innocent-looking clothes would do just the trick. Nancy helped you in picking out the items while Robin judged whether it was hot or not. If all else failed, then you would have to make him jealous by going on a date with someone. That would be a last resort, the thought of going out with someone you had no feelings for filled with you dread.
Tonight you would put the first outfit to the test. Movie nights were always on Fridays around 9, a tradition you guys had kept stemming from middle school. Your brother had missed the last two weeks due to some girl he was interested in at the moment.
Even though James missed the dates, Eddie always showed up like clockwork. You would use this to your advantage. Usually, you would wear some sweatpants and a hoodie or pajamas if it was too hot for that.
Tonight, you would be wearing a racy little number. It was more revealing than what you usually wore but not too out of the norm to raise suspicion.
You checked yourself out in the mirror after you had put the outfit on. It was a black and red romper onesie that dipped low in the front. The words princess were written all over it in red with hearts. Your lower cheeks peeked out slightly and it hugged every inch of your curves leaving nothing and everything to the imagination.
A smile spread across your face at the sight. You looked and felt good about the possibilities of what could happen tonight. You heard the front door open as you sprayed on a light mist of your perfume. 'Showtime,' you thought excitedly.
"Y/n, I'm here" Eddie called out as he flopped down onto the couch. He set the tapes he had rented from Family Video onto the table. He had chosen mostly horror movies but had gotten a rom-com since he knew that those were your favorite.
"Just a minute Ed" your voice rang out.
He took out some rolling papers setting them to the side as he began to break down the small green buds. He was finished and had put the lit joint into his mouth when you entered the room.
When he saw you his mind went blank and his jaw slack, causing the joint to fall into his lap. The embers singed into his jeans causing him to hiss in pain. "Shit," he yelped, grabbing the joint from his lap and dusting himself off quickly.
"Eddie, are you okay," you cried out. You sank down to your knees in front of him trying to look closer, inspecting him closely for any injuries.
Eddie groaned internally at the sight of you on your knees in front of him. He felt himself begin to harden, which would be a recipe for disaster, with how close you were to him. "Yeah, yeah, I'm okay sweets I promise," he says shooting you a nervous look.
You peered up into his face questioningly before rising to your feet. "Okay but let me know if you need any creams for burns or anything," you state sternly with your hands on your hips.
Eddie's eyes shifted from the valley of your breasts exposed by the low cut to your lower pubic region which was being hugged intimately by the onesie. If he looked close enough he could see the outline of your lips.
You clear your throat, bringing his gaze back onto yours, he notices a small smirk on your face and knows you caught him checking you out. His face warms as he nods his head in response to whatever it was that you had just said. His gaze follows your movements as he watches you turn around and bend slightly to look at the videos he selected.
His throat runs dry as he watches the fabric ride up, letting your cheeks poke out provocatively. Clearing his throat, he lifts his lap attempting to adjust his hard-on.
"Picked what you want to watch yet?" His question comes out as a squeak, and he mentally face-palms himself. 'What the hell is wrong with me,' he thought. 'This is y/n for God's sake.'
You turned to look at him over your shoulder, raising a single brow. "Yeah, I think I want to watch a scary one first," you smile, taking the tape and popping it into the VCR. You shut off the lights before taking a seat close to Eddie on the couch.
You leave no space between you as you sit down, making him turn towards you in confusion. "Just wanna be close to you y'know— just in case I get scared," you reply simply. It's bullshit and you both know it, you're a longtime fan of horror movies, making you insusceptible to jump scares.
Eddie doesn't question you, only giving a slight shake of his head before settling in and focusing on the movie. After a while, he becomes completely absorbed in the movie. His eyes are wide as a random big-breasted blonde gets beheaded by a flying machete.
You however haven't been paying attention at all. Your gaze has been focused on Eddie the entire time, giving him innocuous side glances ever so often. You use the sounds of screaming to feign being frightened. A fake shriek escapes your lips and using the momentum, you jump closer to Eddie, slinging your arms around him and burying your face into his neck.
Eddie's heart stops and he forgets how to breathe. Half of your body is sitting on his lap and he can feel your soft full lips against his neck as you tremble with fright. His arms wrap around you without a thought in an attempt to comfort you. This action brings you inadvertently closer to him.
He groans silently at the feel of your soft body pressed against him. Using every ounce of self-restraint he wills himself to calm down before speaking. "It's okay sweets, the scary part is over now," he whispers in an attempt to soothe you.
You remove the small smile on your face before moving your head from his neck to look up at him. A small pout sits on your lips as you look up at him. "Okay Eds," you whisper. You remain seated on his leg as you turn to look at the tv, content with watching the movie this way.
"What are you doing y/n," Eddie asks when he realizes you're not moving off of him.
"Don't wanna move, s'comfy right here," you murmur, laying your head onto his chest as you continue to watch the movie.
Eddie's conflicted, on one hand, he's enjoying having you pressed against him like this, on the other, he's certain that if you don't move soon he's bound to have an embarrassing situation occur. He opts to leave you be while he suffers in silence.
Minutes tick by as you stare silently at the screen. You have no idea what is happening in the movie and you honestly could care less. Tension is heavy in the air making it hard for you to breathe normally. You shift against Eddie, attempting to get comfortable.
"Stop moving sweetheart," he chides gently.
"Why," you ask as you shift against him again. You move your leg resting in his lap, inadvertently spreading your legs farther apart.
He grabs your thigh in an attempt to halt your movements. The feel of his strong ring-clad fingers against your inner thigh causes your breath to hitch and a small gasp tumbles from your lips.
Eddie's brain is short-circuiting, his hand has yet to let go of you. His body is no longer responding to any commands from his brain, acting solely off reflexes. He watches you intently, noticing how the swell of your breasts rises and falls rapidly. Moving his hand higher up your thigh he whispers "you nervous baby?"
You nod your head yes, unable to speak, fearing that you'll say exactly what's on your mind and ruin your relationship with Eddie forever. Your heart feels as if you've sprinted a marathon, your body strung tight, like a chord ready to be strummed. His fingers play with the edge of the fabric from your clothing.
Eddie's mind is reeling as he revels in the feel of your smooth skin. Calloused fingers begin to knead and massage the crease where your thigh and groin meet. His eyes are wide as your gaze meets his. Your eyes begging him to continue and his are searching yours for consent.
You lay your hand on top of his, guiding his hand through the opening of the fabric, directly onto your cunt. He finds you bare underneath and immediately takes over as he begins to caress you slowly. The pads of his fingers rub small circles into your bundle of nerves.
Your head falls back onto his shoulder, as pleasure unfurls in your stomach and your core clenches in anticipation. You close your eyes and he puts a finger under your jaw, bringing your gaze back onto him.
"Eyes on me sweetheart, I wanna see you" he commands. His eyes are trained on yours and it feels as if he is staring directly into your soul. "You're so wet baby, this all for me?" he marvels in awe.
"Yes Eddie, all yours," you confess, finally finding the words to speak. Your lips are slick and swollen with your arousal. You can feel your stomach contract as waves of pleasure bloom through you.
Eddie's eyes darken at your words and any self-control he had left is completely wiped away. Something passes between you two, no words are needed, as you both come together simultaneously. Colliding in a wet passionate glide of lips, tongue, and teeth. A moment of clarity hits Eddie when he feels your lips on his. He knows that he's in love and has been ever since the first time he saw you. He is hooked on you and will spend the rest of his existence addicted to the feeling you give him.
You pull your lips away from his as your orgasm hits its climax, the feeling washes over you in waves, threatening to throw you over the abyss. "Eddie," you moan loudly, throwing your head back against his shoulder. Your core flutters repeatedly as you ride out your high.
Eddie watches you intently, not wanting to miss a single moment. He wishes he could capture the look on your face, so he could remember it forever. "Have I ever told you how beautiful you are," he whispers against your ear. He hasn't even taken your clothes off and he's already enraptured with you.
You smile shyly at him as you shake your head no. His cock strains against the denim material of his jeans causing him to shift uncomfortably. You notice his movements and take your hand placing it on his hardened length. He twitches against your palm as you begin to stroke him slowly, testing out the waters. Your lips find his again as you pull him in for a kiss. This time it's gentle but still just as passionate as you both enjoy the feel of each other.
His hand slides from between your legs and joins the other behind your back pulling you even closer to him. You sigh into his mouth "I've wanted this for so long," you murmur against his lips.
"I'm sorry," he whispers giving you a series of quick kisses along your temple.
"For what," you ask, confusion etched across your face.
"For being a jackass," his face is serious as the words leave his mouth.
"Apology accepted," you giggle before bringing your lips back onto his. You break the kiss and stand up grabbing Eddie's hand. He lets you lead him out of the living room into your bedroom. The movie is still playing in the background, now long forgotten. Closing your door you turn towards him with a shy smile.
He's sitting on your bed surrounded by the lace and frills of your comforter, looking out of place and at home all at once. You walk towards him slowly, tugging down the zipper of the onesie. His eyes follow your movements as you lower the zipper teasingly past the valley of your breasts. His eyes shoot up to yours when you stop unexpectedly, you give him a sweet smile before looking down and pulling the zipper the rest of the way down, stopping just above your pubic bone.
"You're so beautiful, I can't believe this is happening." He takes ahold of your hips, bringing you to stand between his legs. "Remind me," he pauses as he presses open wet mouth kisses around your navel. "Why have I waited so long to do this again," he questions, while he slips the soft fabric of your clothes down your shoulders and onto the floor.
His face is awestruck as he gazes at your naked body causing you to flush deeply. "Hmm, I believe you said it was because you were a jackass or something" you smile teasingly.
Eddie's face breaks out into a grin as he grabs you and flings you onto the bed. You squeal in surprise which quickly turns into laughter as he begins to tickle you. "Stop, m'sorry," you laugh breathlessly, wiggling your body over onto your stomach trying to escape his tickles.
He stops his ticklish attack and begins to rub his hands along your sides slowly. He pauses a moment and you hear the quick rustling of clothes before he commences, picking up where he left off. You feel the soft press of his lips along your shoulder, followed along with the drag of his tongue as he moves on to the next spot. He covers your back in kisses and soft bites as he makes his way down.
You feel his large hands take the soft globes of your cheeks as he kneads and massages them. Your face heats up in embarrassment as he spreads them apart. You look over your shoulder questioningly and your breath catches in your throat. You think that Eddie may just be some sort of demon like the town thinks because at this moment the look he's giving you is downright sinful.
He catches your eye and gives you a wicked smile before pulling your hips up off of the bed and lowering his head to your cunt. His tongue glides along and through your folds spreading them apart. You can feel the tip of his tongue as he prods into your hole teasing before sliding to your clit.
Moans fall from your lips as he laps at your clit. You feel dizzy and your hands fist into the sheets as you arch back into Eddie's mouth. "Eddie," you whimper when his fingers dip into your core.
"Yes, princess," he mumbles into your folds, his voice reverberating through you causing you to shiver in response.
"I want you to fuck me," you beg salaciously. A heated flush coats your entire body as he sucks on your clit while he scissors his fingers in and out of you. Your orgasm creeps up on you and crashes into you unexpectedly, making you cry out, your voice echoing throughout the trailer.
"You did so good sweetheart," he praises you as he turns you over. Your heart sings at his words and you wrap your arms around him, bringing him down to you in a heart-stopping kiss. His face is wet with your arousal and you grind up into him, feeling yourself getting turned on again.
He laughs kissing you on the nose. "So eager huh," he says as he slides his cock through your puffy lips. He moans at the feel of your slick coating his length. "Gonna fuck you so good baby," he promises as he nudges his tip at your entrance.
You kiss him in response and he takes the opportunity to slide into your slickened warmth. He gets halfway into you before he's stopped by a barrier, he takes ahold of your hands and deepens the kiss as he drives into you until he bottoms out. You cry out in pain and he is quick to soothe you with sweet kisses to your temple.
"I know sweets, just breathe kay," he instructs, his eyes trained on you, wanting to make sure that you are okay. You breathe deeply as the stinging sensation begins to lessen, turning into something more pleasurable. Your hips begin to move against him, urging him to continue.
With every thrust, your walls pulled him back in greedily. "Fuck— this tight little pussy is squeezing my dick," he grunts as your velvet walls pulsed and squeezed around him. He kisses you again and again, unable to stop himself. You looked so perfect like you were made just for him.
"Oh God," you sobbed as his cock hit a spot inside of you, making you see stars. You could feel the mix of your arousal and his saliva as he slid in and out of you with ease.
"You like that," he moaned into your ear, taking it between his teeth and nipping it gently.
"Yes, don't stop" you cried out, wrapping your legs around his waist. "Fucking me so good," you babbled, the expression on your face was one of pure bliss as Eddie drove his cock into you over and over.
"Fuck— you feel like heaven babe," Eddie groaned as he grinded deeper into you.
"You're gonna make me cum," you whimpered breathlessly as his patch of curls rubbed against your sensitive clit. Your words died in your throat as you came, the feeling of your orgasm becoming too much, and your vision began to tunnel.
The motion of his hips faltered as his cock began to pulse with his release. Eddie railed his hips against yours once more as shallow puffs of air fell from his lips. Wisps of curls had fallen around his face, curtaining around you both. You blinked up at him with a bleary smile, eyes still hazy in your post-orgasm state.
He pulled out of you slowly, conscious of your sensitive core, and got up from the bed. You stared in silence as he left the room, returning with a warm towel. He quickly wiped you off and then himself before throwing the towel into your clothes hamper in the corner of your room.
Getting back into bed, he took you into his arms and pulled your comforter from the foot of your bed, tucking it around you both. You relax onto him, your head resting on his chest as you listen to the soft beat of his heart.
Taking your hand into his, he intertwines your fingers before pressing a soft kiss to each knuckle. You're half asleep when he begins to talk, the timbre of his voice is like a low rumble in his chest stirring you awake.
"When we were little, I asked you to marry me," "you remember that," he whispers, his lips pressed against the top of your head.
"Kinda," you replied groggily, struggling to stay awake.
"I went to your parents and asked for your hand in marriage," he chuckled. "And your brother, he made me swear to always protect you. He promised that he would kick my ass if I ever hurt you and I said that I would let him if I ever hurt you in any way." He tilted your chin to look up at him and you gave him a sleepy smile, making his heart stop momentarily.
"You asked me to marry you and I said no. Said I was saving myself for Elvis. I don't know how I forgot about that," you laughed softly.
"Yeah, broke my little heart," he said jokingly. "I always knew I loved you, even then. Just never thought you saw me in that way I guess. Shit, I'm rambling— what I'm trying to say is. I still want to be with you, if you'll have me." He presses a tender kiss to your lips as his question hangs in the air.
Your heart clenches in joy and tears prick at your eyes. Nodding your head you kiss him, slipping your tongue into his mouth teasingly. After a moment he pulls away, laugh lines crinkling along the sides of his big brown eyes "I guess that means yes," he smirked.
You roll your eyes and laugh "Of course, that's a yes, unless Elvis is really alive, then we might have a problem." you tease, laying your head back down onto his chest. His chest hums with soft laughter, you remind yourself to thank Robin and Nancy and let them know their plan was a success before you doze off into a peaceful slumber.
The end
