182 Days of TPN - Day 55

Chapter 55: “B06-32, Part 5” 

We see in the previous chapter’s extra page that it was Ray’s idea to tie Yuugo up and I can only imagine he’s had many fantasies of doing the same to Isabella to keep her confined from interfering with any kind of escape plan Ray came up with. How else would he be so successful at keeping Yuugo down if he didn’t already know the exact method to go about it? Just a silly headcanon of mine, of course.

Emma’s internal clock doesn’t care if y’all just enduring a long, exhausting couple days out in the wild, you’re still gonna wake up at six in the morning. I love Yvette’s little note and how excited Chris is though. We see him wake everyone up on different occasions in both medias too so it’s cute he shares that early bird energy with Emma. Manga always tries to hide Ray’s sleeping face, but at least we get a little peak in s2ep4.

Dominic and Rossi literally shaking with excitement over the chance to actually have a decent bath is so precious. It’s simple moments like this that make me love these kids so much.

Why does Nat always have some of the best comments? And how massive is this tub? No way in hell would I share a bath with that many people.

No worries Rossi, I was crying at this point during the anime too.. just for completely different reasons..

Look at how pleased they are when they overhear how their family’s so happy and proud they all escaped and worked so hard to get here. Ray especially. Surely he knows by now that escaping with everyone and not just the other oldest kids was well worth it.

The change of clothes and how the kids finally getting some freedom in choosing what they wanna wear! I’ll still never understand the reason why the second season decided to keep them all in the GF uniforms for all of ep3 and a majority of ep4. The way they had Emma out hunting in a skirt wasn’t practical in the slightest nor did it fit her character at all. Tag explains the frustration better than I ever could.

Chef Ray back at it again with yet another incredible meal for everyone.

Rossi really does have some of the best faces, but someone needs to save this lad from being squished. Anime didn’t quite nail his expression but at least it had the other kids like Chris, Alicia and Mark react to Don’s outburst too.

I gotta stop picking on Nat's low enthusiasm because odds are I’d probably react the same way to a lot of things in this world. Also love the small detail of the additional bandage on Emma’s face from where Yuugo’s bullet grazed her cheek.

I know Chris and Jemima are often seen as Ray’s closest younger siblings, but I wanna add Mark to that list. That boy certainly loves our chef’s cooking. And I’m so happy we get to see Emma with her sleeves rolled up like they were in some of the really early chapters. How she wears the necklace is super cute too.

At least the anime allowed us to hear what our favorite piano man sounds like.

They give themselves a brief moment to think about their dearest friend and then it’s right back to business. I love them. And Ray saying that they “can still see Phil and the other kids” is like a gentle reminder to them both that Norman is no longer with them. Or so they were led to believe.

thinking about Emmay swap AU... so fun and whimsy

I'm not too creative so like I think basically Ray experiences infantile amnesia while Emma doesn't which like would really change their personalities

in tpn Ray had to emotionally detach himself for years and years because he couldn't handle the pain every time someone got shipped out, and because it would make it easier to let only Emma and Norman escape (but even then he could never fully detached himself from his family and iirc in that one light novel they said he's always depressed after someone gets "adopted" and he even grew a bit attached to Susan)

so SINCE he wouldn't have to do that, he's close to everyone because to me Emma and Ray are basically almost the "what-if" versions of each other

Ray is way more open with everyone but still his sarcastic self since it's part of his personality and he's probably not as loud as Emma but he's like really sweet to everyone and not "emo" or cold or whatever plus he's pretty popular with everyone

he's still logical and yet follows his heart... which is actually part of what he does in tpn too but he's less prone to giving up on taking everyone I think he'd definitely stick to that goal doing anything to make sure of it I mean we can see og Ray after the escape he really doesn't give up anymore since he has no reason to and he really would do anything to keep his family safe, so it's the same here

Emma would be like more distant this time and tries not to spend time with anyone too much and maybe she's more hotheaded but Isabella would probably have her as her subordinate to like prepare her to be a mom or a sister so Emma would still like try to be sweet with everyone to a degree to yk gain Isabella's trust to show her that "ermmm yeah I'm totally not being your subordinate to let Ray and Norman escape this is training to be a mom!!! ^_^ See I'm being just like you mom... sweats"

Emma doesn't like reading but does it to get smarter and Ray always tries to convince her to play like "ermmm developing your body will help develop your brain so basically playing tag would be good for you 🤓" and she's like "grrrr FIIINE I GUESS you're right :/" Ray also doesn't like reading or studying obviously but does it for the tests (he doesn't know his life depends on the tests) and sometimes to keep Emma company or show her that she can have a balance between studying and playing

Emma gave up on the idea of taking everyone a long time ago like og Ray so she wants to save who she can aka her best friends. She's not as good with machines as Ray so she like subtly asks for his help to have an idea on how to build something to nullify the tracking devices and he's like "ermmm why are you suddenly interested in that kind of stuff question mark ?"

Emma’s journey started in Grace Field House, an ordinary orphanage where children are given ordinary tests, have ordinary barcodes tattooed on them, and get adopted out to ordinary families that definitely exist. It ends with her and her friends escaping into the human world in either a multi-volume manga arc or two episodes of anime that are treated as the second coming of Shyamalan’s The Last Airbender. (...or, like, the last fifteen minutes of it.)

Along the way, Emma has three great weapons that she uses against the ordinary people who are not eating orphans. First is her hope, which lets her find a way to keep moving forward, even when she seems doomed. Second her friendly demeanor, which infects those around her with her hope, gathering the powerless in great enough numbers to defeat the powerful. Third is a bow, or sometimes a rifle.

That hope and friendliness is part of what marks her out as a typical shonen hero (aside from her two X chromosomes). She’s energetic, idealistic, stubborn determined, athletic, quick to forgive, and sometimes makes new friends by beating people up and then forgiving them.

Her idealism is sometimes mistaken for airheadedness, not helped by the fact that she’s sometimes a bit of a ditz. But she’s cleverer than she seems, which can be seen from both her extraordinary scores on those ordinary tests and coming up with solid plans on the fly. She’s not as book-smart or pragmatic as Ray or Norman, but she’s still a smart cookie. A very tasty-looking cookie, according to the orphanage bosses…

My girl is trying to escape a farm where humans are raised as livestock to be fed to demons. So. A healthy family would be cool for her I think.

New Zealand calls on Papua rebels to release pilot kidnapped a year ago

New Zealand has called for the immediate release of pilot Phillip Mehrtens who was taken captive by fighters in Indonesia’s troubled Papua province a year ago.

Mehrtens, who was flying a single-propeller plane for Indonesia’s Susi Air, was snatched from his aircraft on February 7 last year by a group of fighters from the West Papua National Liberation Army (TPN-PB) who said he would only be released if Papua was given its independence.

The group, led by regional commander Elias Kogoya, later released images and videos showing Mehrtens surrounded by rebels – some armed with guns and others with bows and arrows – in remote forested areas.

New Zealand Foreign Minister Winston Peters said the New Zealander had been providing “vital air links and supplies to remote communities” at the time he was kidnapped.

“We strongly urge those holding Phillip to release him immediately and without harm. His continued detention serves the interests of no one,” Peters said in a statement to mark a year since the pilot was taken.

The incident in the remote highlands region of Nduga, one of the most restive areas of the province, drew renewed attention to one of the world’s least-known and longest-running conflicts.

Papua, whose people are ethnically Melanesian, occupies the western half of the island of New Guinea – just 200km (124 miles) north of Australia – and shares a land border with Papua New Guinea (PNG).

A low-level battle for independence has been under way since Indonesia took control of the resource-rich former Dutch colony after a controversial referendum in 1969.

Peters said New Zealand had been working with Indonesian authorities and others towards securing Phillip’s release.

“Let me be absolutely clear,” he said. “There can never be any justification for hostage taking.”

Peters’s statement came after the TPN-PB, the armed wing of the Free Papua Movement (OPM), said they had asked Kogoya to release Mehrtens, although they gave no timeframe for when that might happen.

“We plan to proceed with the release based on humanity,” TPN-PB spokesperson Sebby Sambom was quoted as saying by the Associated Press news agency.

“We believed that most Australians and New Zealanders support Papua’s independence,” he added. “We don’t want to be blamed by international community if the pilot dies while he is being held hostage by our fighters.”

Peters said Mehrtens had been able to contact some friends and family before Christmas and had assured them that he was well.

New Zealand was “exploring all avenues” to bring the pilot home, he added.

Indonesia deployed police and soldiers into the highland district in an attempt to rescue Mehrtens shortly after he was taken captive and there have been a number of clashes since.

Outsiders, including foreign journalists, international organisations and diplomats require special permission from Jakarta to visit the region, which is the location of one of the world’s largest gold and copper deposits.

There has been a surge in violence in Papua since 2018 when rebels killed 24 Indonesian men who were building a major new road to connect the coast with the highlands.

United Nations human rights experts have expressed concern about the deteriorating situation.

I created a secret account so no one can find me, but here’s my story.

When I was 12, I was raped and molested by my step father. This caused me to do SH and developed an ED. I struggled with this for a long time until I had kids in high school. It didn’t last long with the recovering period. I gained a lot of weight from my starting weight at 123. I was up to 212. Lucky, I breast fed and I lost most of the weight and got down to 140. When my youngest was 10 months, I started back up again. My kids are 17 months apart, so that kind of tells you how long the briefing period was. But I started back up again.

I became so unhappy with my body, being a teenager, and having loose skin and deep stretch marks, I lost my mind. I unintentionally stopped when I thought I found the one after my divorce. My family made me get married at 16 when I was pregnant because it was a super religious household, we separated when I hit 20. At 24, my boyfriend at the time had been lying to me for years, he cheated and the girl was pregnant. He told me it was his and he left me. I was so devised. I lost myself and attempted to take everything away. I survived, after my heart stopped and the hospital resuscitated me after the OD. I willingly went to the hospital because I regretted my decision 2 days later from the pain and sickness. But it doesn’t stop here..

Close to a year later, my boyfriend and I still lived with each other. He confessed that he lied about the whole thing because he started to hate me. I still don’t believe anything he said. I had the photos of her and him together, kicker she is married. But denied any sex. Even though I cleaned show car and I found the stains in the back. To this day he won’t tell me or talk about it even though it eats me alive. During that year, I had to get an abortion because I didn’t want him to have too much pressure on him raising kid number 6. I was just so broken, and so lost myself, but faked a smile so he wouldn’t see the pain I felt every moment of my life. In that year he changed. He became nicer to me, and made me feel loved. I begged for that for months, and I was always rejected. When I stopped loving him he started to love me. It took a while before I could say I love you back.

We just started dating after asking me out that April. But it took so much to even start to forgive. I was just so broken and betrayed.

Two years later, I thought I was cleared of my ED, after fighting it through the OD and heartbreak. But I started getting sick. I thought this had to be my ED again. But it never stopped, I wasn’t vomiting myself anymore, I wasn’t starving myself anymore. I was diagnosed with gastroparesis. My stomach doesn’t work anymore, and doctors say it’s from an unknown cause. I think it’s because I’ve had Ana and Mia in my life for over 15 years now.

I can no longer eat without vomiting, and I don’t have an appetite. I have a port for the past couple of years for TPN, hydrationand medication due to not being able to hold anything in my stomach. Last year this illness put me in a coma, and it’s so hard to stay a float for myself or my family.

I feel like I’m in the same boat as I was when it took over my life. Mentally I have an eating disorder now, because my body can’t tolerate anything going in my body. I have a new outlook on relationship with food. I feel so lost and I don’t have anyone to turn to after this. Because now both illness have taken over my life. I don’t want to lose weight and I don’t want to gain it, I don’t want to be where I’m at today because I’m no longer normal. But will never be the same.

So I downloaded this app to watch from both stand points of handling eating disorders and chronic medical conditions, because now they’re a grey area. If anyone needs to talk or wants to know more, I’m an open book. I don’t have anything to hide. We all fight our own battles. We all have different stories, but we all need someone to listen and understand with no judgment attached.

Emma was unlucky.

Of all times to have her normal checkup at the doctors appointment, of course it would have to be today.

Normally, it wouldn't matter when it was, but when you're in a relationship with two boys...sometimes these things happen.

She wouldn't have minded, except that she had to explain to the doctor that no, she was not raped or attacked in any way shape or form.

The first cause was thanks to Norman, who had been a little extra friendly yesterday in the afternoon.

She had been reading a book in bed while cuddling with Norman...

"Emma, do you know when Ray's getting back?" Norman asked curiously.

Humming lightly, Emma paused her reading to think. "I think he said he'd be back at 8, why?"

Norman smirked a little, lust in his eyes. Emma yelped as Norman suddenly pinned her down to the bed, causing her to drop her book. She stared up at him with wide eyes.

"That means I have you all to myself for now~" He whispered with a light chuckle, kissing her neck lightly.

Emma blushed darkly, she'd expect this from Ray, but from Norman? "N-Norman?" She stuttered.

He ignored her and continued to kiss her neck, getting more intense with every moment.

She trembled underneath him, she felt her whole body getting hotter and hotter. "S-Shouldn't we...wait for Ray...to do something like this?" 

"I thought you'd say that," He mumbled against her skin. "Ray and I had a little fun this morning before he left, so it's fine~"

Emma yelped a little as Norman bit a sensitive part of her neck, it was enough to leave her panting.

She was completely at his mercy.

It wasn't like she minded though, now that she knew Norman wasn't excluding Ray on purpose, she felt much more comfortable.

So when he moved down to her thighs and started leaving bite marks, all she could do was tremble.

Emma felt her face go red when she thought back to yesterday...how would she even explain this to the doctor without dying?

It wasn't even just Norman either, later that night when Norman was taking a bath, she and Ray...

"Is Norman taking a bath?" Ray asked calmly. He was helping Emma clean up in the kitchen.

She nodded, not even glancing at him as she wiped the counter with a cloth. "Yeah, he just got in. Are you gonna-" She started, but was cut off when Ray pinned her to the kitchen wall.

Gasping in surprise, she looked up at him to see him smirking down at her, the same look of lust Norman had. "I see he left his mark, but that's not really fair is it?" He hummed, moving the collar of Emma's shirt a little to reveal marks on her neck.

Emma's eyes widened, she blushed a little. "I-" She started.

"If he gets to leave his mark, it's only fair I get to do the same eh?" He commented, connecting his lips with hers. Emma moaned a little into the kiss and wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him even closer.

She yelped when Ray took her bottom lip between his teeth and bit down hard enough to draw blood. He continued to suck her lip until she was whimpering.

Ray chuckled as he broke the kiss. He grabbed Emma's hand and dragged her to the bedroom, she didn't even try to fight him.

"My goodness miss, you're thighs have marks, your neck is bruised, your lip is swollen and had some cuts, did you get in a fight?" The doctor questioned with concern, fearing the worst.

Emma smiled sheepishly.

"...A fight...would be way less embarrassing than the truth."
