Taught Newt how to bolt for his carrier in an emergency where just seeing me running with the carrier is a cue to hop in it!
Trying to gradually build up to me being more panicked, currently have a medium pace, pretending I can't find him// completely avoiding looking at him, and having the carrier at varying angles when he enters it.
If you want an idea on what it’s like to train like an elite level fighter, I’d suggest following ufc strawweight champ Zhang Weili on IG cause it’s just her doing absolutely insane workouts day after day after day.
watching a training video on cross-contamination and the video opens with "contact with contaminated surfaces..." but it stopped to buffer part way through "contact" so it sounded like it just opened by calling me a cunt
"Perch" means front feet on an object, not all 4, but she is used to doing all 4 on this plank/2o2o, not Perch. I should have thrown a reset cookie instead but I was letting her think about it. And she thought and decided this was bullshit and it was time for bed.
Discussion of actual homework under the cut:
This is an unfair slice because we had a good session going before I remembered to get the camera setup. I promise she was doing well with her other cues. Our first homework was to check the integrity of 3-6 verbal cues without any physical signals and she was doing great! I can't know for sure since I wasn't filming, but I think I was also doing a good job keeping a quiet body. Right now the 6 we are using are:
1. Sit
2. Stand
3. Down
4. Perch (on her bowl--gonna scrap asking for the plank for now!)
5. Wave (I'd say about 85% without a gesture--usually I wave at her but she can do it on a verbal)
6. ??? Thinking of using Upup (get 4 feet on something), or committing to training spin/twirl to a reliable verbal. I think I might do the latter as a challenge to myself, to practice this week's lesson on transitioning to the verbal only.
7. Occurs to me we also have Back Up on a good verbal
8. Curtsey is also maybe 50/50 at this point, but I'm concerned she is having some physical difficulties with that one (she can't hold it for nearly as long as she used to be able to before hospitalization) so I might hold off relying on that one
The behaviors shouldn't involve me I don't think, which is why some of her really solid ones aren't being used (paw, touch, snoot, etc). They aren't fully verbal so I don't think they would count!
Hope I didn't just poison sessions. We haven't done formal training stuff in AGES...
Rebuilt the foundations for shutting the door today, added more speed to the door closure, and began introing shutting the door with me standing in different locations - this was tricky for him and needs more time
safe to say he's pretty excited about the whole process 😂
Yazmin Jauregui (10-0), one of the few fighters still posting training vlogs like this. Here we can see here doing partner drills, sparring, hitting the bag, etc as she prepares for her upcoming fight at UFC 290 this Saturday (July 8).
Jauregui has been fantastic so far in the UFC, going 2-0 with a stoppage win in her last fight against Istela Nunes. She looks like a legit prospect at 115lbs. The Mexican fighter will be facing off with Denise Gomes (7-2) at UFC 290.
With the Titanic tourist submarine gone missing I would once again like to say that every single person on that ship that night got their family torn apart in some way. Survivors had to sit in lifeboats and listen to their love ones die in the water. Many survivors went on to have severe mental health issues and committed suicide. After the incident the White Star Line sent out bills to living relatives of their deceased employees making them pay for the uniforms that their loved ones had died in. The people in Halifax who had to recover the deceased bodies were traumatized for life while also paying for funeral services for unclaimed bodies with money out of their own pockets.
I 100 percent believe that it’s important to study the ship as it continues to deteriorate but in no way should it be used as a fucking tourist attraction and the fact that it’s gotten to this point is straight up disgusting. If one things goes wrong down there that it’s your dead. Simple as that.
Robert Ballard who discovered the ship has even said that he has regrets about discovering the ship because of the damage that submarines have caused to it.
