Im honestly still working on it but basically I think he was abandoned as a child by his mom (she probably did it to keep him safe, but who knows) (very classic orphan moment) but he gets adopted by a couple and he lives pretty nice for a while!! he even made friends (a total of four friends, but thats enough for him and he's happy about that!) (they move away eventually drift apart) (one of his friends is actually Caden and he had a crush on him but its unrequited <3)

but then through divorce or through something else he gets seperated from one of his moms (sorry gay people T_T🙏) and hes back to living some kind of not very fun life because uhh abandonment moment part 2!!! his other mom doesn't really have a job and she's kinda old so he's trying to help out around the house and find work / get money as well by doing probably dangerous probably illegal things (he has many near-death experiences along the way and i mean Multiple. maybe even a 2 digit number. somehow, he always gets out alive. (its actually because of his unique magic))

anyway uhh his magic potential was acknowledged and he goes to NRC because he got accepted yippee, and he wants to try and make his (still alive, still here) mom happy and try his best in school. he was kinda hesitant to leave her behind at first but his mom went "go for it kid its okay!! u gotta get smarter !!! go to college and get more knowledge!" so he goes. and hes sorted in savanaclaw, he got picked on and ran away from a lotta fights but he toughened up and mostly stays out of trouble.

he meets Caden again and they reconnect though Toby knows he's probably not that important in Caden's life and hes kinda resigned to that fact. honestly Toby's still kinda cheerful and silly somehow like just a silly goofy guy despite a turbulent life not because hes actively hiding the fact that he has issues but because he kinda glosses over/represses them so much that hes convinced hes fine for some reason.

Toby acts very polite and keeps his head down, he's not a troublemaker at all but sometimes trouble just follows him wherever he goes rip. His brush off all the bad stuff/optimistic attidude is kind of why hes in Savanaclaw, he's not really confrontational or like a brave tough guy jock like most of the other dudes. He keeps facing danger and not dying / never sustains any fatal injuries and thats persistent according to the Dark Mirror, i guess.

"How does a non-confrontational person survive in NRC?" i dont know . but hes very nice like Silver and Kalim kind of nice (which is because Tod isn't really a villain) and his grades are average / only slightly above average (A W for him). He misses a lot of people in his life and kind of gets attached to people easily (and sometimes a bit too quickly) but he thinks he's fine and normal so let's not worry about all that !!!

QT decided to organize the gala for December during the holidays and obviously she invited you and Hasan!

Hasan took one look at your outfit and immediately knew what to choose

I know, I know! It's casual for a gala, but stay with me here!

You, being the multi-talented DIVINE CREATURE you are, you made your own dress and undies so he thought it was only right to under-dress.

As the night went on, he became more and more aware of your outfit.

He knew what Ted meant when he came over to compliment your outfit

He knew what Ludwig meant when he made a "soft, giant bf + confident, short gf" joke

He *absolutely* knew what Schlatt meant when he made a comment about knowing exactly what you and Hasan were gonna get up to later on.

And he'd be right! But oh, so wrong at the exact same time.

Ludwig made people get in on a bet about it! Guys *and* girls would place their money into a cup and would flirt with, wink at, touch, hug, dance with, talk to, laugh with, compliment you all in the collective effort to rile Hasan up enough to see what he'd do!

To be honest, you should be thankful! They're trynna get you dicked down!

So when Hasan went around to everyone and bid them each a goodnight, they all held knowing smirks on their faces.

Schlatt almost blew it all when he playfully smacked your ass as you and Hasan left. Ludwig called him out on it and expected Hasan to either get physical or shout at Schlatt, but he didn't! He just stared bee-line at your ass. But you didn't know that. You didn't need to know that.

You also didn't need to know that literally five minutes prior, he took a picture of your ass, BOLDFACED!!!

QT also almost blew it by texting you "Have a good night!" with one too many winky faces (One. She sent one.) but you chalked it up to her being tipsy and misclicking

When you got home, you stepped through the door first and placed your bag down on the kitchen table but you noticed Hasan wasn't behind you.

By now, he would've kicked his shoes off and taken his coat off but it didn't garner *this* amount of time to do so.

So, you went back to the door and found said man on his knees, looking- almost defeated?

"What's wrong, bubba?"

"If you say one more word to me that isn't while you're sat on my face, I think I might go on a murderous rampage."

When a smile cracked onto your face, he stood immediately and pushed you towards the stairs, pushing you up them as you giggled.

"Hold on! Give me a moment! I'm gonna trip!" you squealed, and he soon managed to get you all the way to the bedroom.

You began undoing one of the ribbons on your dress when a large hand gripped yours.

"No no no no," he muttered, tying it back up again, "the dress stays on."

And that's how you found yourself here!

It's been your third hour sat on his face.

So w your version of modern gyu his splotches are scars, not genetic?

I personally like having gyutaro with all the symptoms associated with congenital syphilis, so w my version of him his splotches are skin discoloration ❤ (specifically hyperpigmentation)

i like to think the splotches on his skin are a mix of both! + birthmarks

the ones on his face are hyperpigmentation and birthmarks, but the ones on his body are a bit different.

when it comes to gyutaro i like to imagine that his backstory can be seen all over him, practically etched into his appearance. like, he just LOOKS like he’s been through a lot, ya know? so his skin all over is almost a collection of burn’s, scars and bruises that just won’t seem to fade + all things he was born with or just developed naturally

but also! my modern gyu is a mix of his canon human self and demon self’s physical appearance’s, and when u compare the two in the anime/manga he has some splotches on his body in his demon form that don’t appear in his human form, so that’s why i like to think of them as scars or tats! so the transition between those two phases can be translated into an au where he’s just some guy livin’ his life in the 21st century, and he’s not going through a physical transformation after something horrible happens to him. the horrible stuff still happens, but he’s still the same gyu, just….with a lot more on his skin to show for it.

(i read back my last upchuck of words on modern!gyu and i realize the whole section about the splotches on his body is so vague and i did NOT portray what i was trynna say well 😭 i’m so so sorry)

not much happened but that's to be expected, this is a jrpg after all and an atelier one to boot, nice episode tho this time the OP and ED had lyrics and while they're not something I'd listen to on my own time they do be very fitting for this

Zom 100 Ep1

I was very on the fence about this one, I was curious by the synopsis, (I'm not huge on zombie stuff but in a sea of isekai it's a breath of fresh air) but it was so I wasn't sure about the quality. However I heard very good things from multiple people about the premiere so decided to say fuck it and just watch it and... it's REALLY good. the directing is incredly good, done by the guy who directed the komi anime (which also had p good directing), with a lot of cool shots/visuals and even some sakuga. my favourite part is the pic under here where he breaks free from the widesreen black bars and the episode suddenly becomes super colourful and very animated. not sure a baby studio can keep up this level of quality the whole run but I'll be looking forward to it each week, don't even need to apply the 3 ep rule, this one was more than enough.

also, apparently the studio doing this splintered off from OLM and the logo for the black company in the anime is OLM's LMAO respect

and that’s so cool! honestly i think love and intimacy between two people can be so comforting. it just makes you feel safe. like you’re in this small cocoon of happiness and warm fuzzy feelings.

also 👀 not you talking about how you hate misunderstandings in fics when that’s one of my fav things to do. i like to like… have the misunderstanding be more of a small backstory that slowly unfolds. but it’s mixed with actual character flaws. so it’s not just like “oh it was just a misunderstanding” but more like “there were genuine problems and the misunderstanding was a consequence of said problems and also the character’s flaws” (i love writing about people who run away from problems and then have to face their fears. much character development 🤩)

and oh gosh i feel you on the description!!! i struggle with that too. perhaps not to the degree of aphantasia (i’m still not sure if i have it or not. bcs i can visualise certain things but not others. and it’s all a blur instead of being vivid) and gosh i always have to look up videos and pictures for visual aids. that always helps me visualise stuff better. i’ve been trynna write a nightwing!minho fic and it’s taking me forever bcs visualising a gritty city like gotham is hella difficult. and then putting it into words is even harder. lahskshsjdhskskk

two characters being gentle and loving to each other?? will never get bored of it. there's so many ways to do it and to build up to it so it can be so fun too.

i think what you're describing is different though bc i do that as well. what i was trying to describe is more like... one character thinks the other did something that they didn't do and they never resolve it until like 5 chapters later and 20 thousand words like when you are just screaming at them to just ask if they did the thing. i just don't like it. there's so much angst and turmoil that is so much more fun to read. you're right when misunderstanding is done well it's like oo character study and development. there's good and bad misunderstandings imo.

hfjds it's literally so hard like i use like 2 adjectives per thousand words i swear to god hfdjs but omg nightwing!minho give me give me give me. i don't think i've read any superhero skz fics. but seriously same like i'm brainstorming for a kinda dystopia au right now and the world building and description is killing me. i think i shy away from it a lot which is why so much of what i write is shorter and kinda based in one setting that doesn't need as much description.

DOS2 catchup thoughts, Reaper’s Coast edition because the entirety of that giant map is a fucking blur, mostly good, but my god, I did not have time to stop and talk about every fucking quest or I’d never have gotten through it, it took me like.... an entire weeks as is. But here’s companion stuff that mattered that I have like, emotions about!

I really liked the quest with Sebile and Ifan where you’re going to go kill the leader of the Lone Wolves, that did a lot for unraveling the mystery and I liked that we got to reconnect with that nice blind elf girl from Fort Joy who helped!

Sebile’s backstory gets sadder and sadder the more we get revealed, apparently she’s the single most important elf in the world upon whom all elvenkind relies upon for their survival after Ifan got tricked into delivering the doomsday weapon that annihilaed the elves! 

So... yikes for both of them, her for the identity crisis, and Ifan for the crisis of conscience of realizing what he was tricked into doing by the Divine he pledged his loyalty to. 

Again, I wish the companions were more vocal and would like... talk to each other, because I’d love to hear what Sebile and Ifan had to say to each other about these revelations, but given that you can play AS these characters, maybe you have to play AS Sebile or Ifan to hear their thoughts on the other’s backstories :T

I actually got taken out of it a little bit when Ifan was genuinely surprised that Lucian knowingly unleashed the deathfog on the elves, I figured that was the reason he’d lost his faith, and it made him seem... a lot more naïve than was really believable, but it illustrates the point that he’s loyal and believes the best of those people he pledges his loyalty to, almost like some sort of extremely sociable pack bonding canid, so I guess I get the reason for that.

But re: believable “I fucked up” backstories and feeling REALLY BAD for characters, holy shit, Fane ;__;

I know I already spoil everything, but no seriously, spoilers re: the entire game and p much the entire Divinity series because FUCK, DUDE.

Dialogue with him and his backstory made it pretty easy to figure out that the 7 gods of Rivellon were the 7 advisors he mentioned he gave his research to, but OOF, to find out they took his research and then condemned his entire race to save themselves and remake the world in their own vain image... blows. It’s all his fault, technically, because he stupidly assumed they’d be as devoted to knowledge as he was and not take the power for themselves. He never could have fathomed a.) what horrors lied beyond the veil he discovered (surprise: it was the void), and b.) that the 7 would have turned on their own kind like that.

And now he’s utterly disillusioned and absolutely despairing and doesn’t see the point of anything because his people are all condemned to the Void and I think maybe ARE the Voidwoken?? So they’ve been turned into monsters... and he had a wife and child??????? And he keeps not mentioning them, aside to say that they always came second to his research, and I feel kinda bad continuously reminding him of them in dialogue because it seems kinda like he’s Trying Not To Fucking Think About That so as not to collapse into utter despair, and also because I’m pretty sure that’s gonna bite me in the ass! If I keep reminding him of them, he’ll only be all the more determined to undo his mistake! Which means he will for sure be dead set on becoming Divine!

And I don’t even wanna be Divine, I WANT TO KILL THE GODS, but I haven’t gotten to the point where I can craft the godkiller sword yet >:T

So if it doesn’t let me kill the gods and try to un-break the world, or at the very least let me fucking talk to Fane more, I can see this betrayal coming a mile off. It’s gonna be Solas all over again. 

And that’s fair, tbh, I don’t blame him, but GOD I wish there was more dialogue with him!!! Just the chance to talk to him and show him the world that exists as it is so he can have a chance to have an actual connection in this world. 

The point of RPGs is to make friends and kill gods, and I’m at the point where it’s pretty late in the game and neither seems to be happening and it’s a huge bummer but I’m trynna stay positive. I know for sure how to win Ifan and Sebile’s friendship (killing Alexander and The Master respectively). Here’s hoping Fane’s goals align with mine and he’s down to kill all gods. Cuz if he’s not that’s gonna suck.

Dyans is such a thoroughly though out OC, I can tell how much love and effort you put into writing him. It shows through the different dynamics you create in verses, and the complexity of his backstory and personality. I love reading your headcanons for him and learning more about what makes him tick. I also love how easily you shift certain elements of his character in certain settings and situations, without losing the core element of his personality. Also, Bas, you are just a joy to plot with and chat with. I enjoy all of our plots and conversations. I am so thrilled to have to as a rp partner.

so if you’re wondering where the rant about nathaniel is, let me give you a bit of back story. after i made that post, i started writing it the next day. but as i got so close to finishing it, my damn computer randomly updated and i lost all the progress i made. after that happened, i lost all motivation and gave up for two weeks. i refuse to write it all again (but the premise of it was i felt like beemoov only briefly talked about it instead of actually giving us a feel of bullshit he got himself into, but that’s just my opinion. if felt like when you say your parents are going to kill you for something, but the most you get is your ass beat) BUT THAT’S NOT WHY WE’RE HERE. we’re here because i wanna talk some project ideas i have been thinking on for months.

introduce my candy properly

i been thinking about doing this for a while now and i really want to put Rico (my candy) out there. i’ve been keeping her to myself for years now, but i think it’s finally time to put her out there. i already have her personality, backstory and relationships ready. all i need to do is put her out there.

make a smau (social media au) for each episode

and when i say every episode, i mean EVERY EPISODE. i wanna do something like record Rico’s reactions to the events of each episode. i already have her profile made and i plan on changing it after certain episodes for added✨realism✨.

make fake dialogue

so i’m pretty sure if you’ve been on any corner on tumblr, you���ve seen incorrect characters quotes at least a few times. now i wanna do something like that, but i wanna do dialogue from one of my favorite youtube series. i’m only gonna use some of the dialogue from it and also not use Rico for this one just because i’m already using her for the smau. i already have a oc ready for this one.

outfit ranking

this one is way more simple than the other three. i’m just going to be ranking what i think is the best (and the worst) outfit pieces/outfits in general because let’s face it, sometimes beemoov hit, other times... not even close.

those are the main four ideas that i’ve had for months now. but i kinda have problems with the first three. for the first one, i wanna introduce her in a creative way, but i can’t think of one. for the second one, i wanna use some of the illustrations from the game, but i don’t have the skills to edit them to fit Rico. i would try, but i’m such a perfectionist, the moment it doesn’t come out the way i want, imma quit. BUT WE NOT TRYNNA DO THAT. for the third, not only do i have to get the dialogue for the video without subtitles (because the auto generated ones suck straight ass), but i also have to make different sprites for the oc i made. which are both not a issue. but i think the biggest problem i’m going to have if i decide to do these projects is commitment. i have a problem with sticking with something the whole way through if i don’t find it interesting anymore. but if i do decide to do any of these, i’ll try my best to stick with it. but no promises. ok that’s all i gotta say. deuces.
