Perhaps instead of giving them big doses of human dna like they did with Mewtwo and Newtwo, their might be less human dna in future experiments. Because giving pokemon human-like intelligence and cognitive thought capable of their own decisions and choices clearly didn't work so well with the first two when it came to controlling them. Maybe fewer human genes are the reason Mysterytwo looks more mew-like. Or perhaps they ixnay human dna altogether and solely use pokemon dna for splicing. Which may also change their behavior to be more animalistic and tameable. It may change their typing as well. I have mentioned that Mysterytwo will also have an additional type other than psychic.

this hellsite can't stop me anyway in the switched protagonist au lloyd and damian are an absolute menace together they enable each other's most asshole-y traits and the levels of sass in the room grows exponentially for every minute they spend together.

they'll be going about their day and randomly start arguing about damian's pay completely unrelated to anything they're doing. full on haggling and negotiating "twenty-five percent and a week of vacation" "five percent and an extra weekend" "twenty percent and five days" "ten percent and three days but you don't mention my birthday for two months" "fifteen, four days and one month" "deal" lloyd does joke damian is the reason they'll fall in debt again. damian argues they wouldn't get nearly as much work done without him. lloyd can appreciate the commitment to getting fair pay even if it does put somewhat of a strain in his pocket. and damian does admire that lloyd never delays payments and he doesn't even has to ask for bonuses or hazard pay because lloyd just,,, gives them all of that (<- this is canon and no i am not mad the webcomic doesn't comment on it the way it should what are you talking about-)

also! they're sooooo good at squeezing shitty rich people out of their money. lloyd will draft the most ridiculous contract he can get away with and damian will loom ominously in the background until it's signed and then they high-five the moment they're out of the room not a single word needed between them.

plus the moment they see a monster and lloyd suggests running away damian agrees immediately, picks him up and fucking books it out of there. they are not in it for the heroics thank you very much. there would need to be a completely different reason for them to defeat the monsters and involve themselves in the drama cause they're both very much in favor of just. running lol

as for javier dealing with the fact that he can no longer protect rakiel the way he's supposed to because he has a demon king inside of him just itching to possess him and making hm as weak as possible in order to make him his vessel,,,, the mental issues would be delightful.

he would hate it with a passion, javier already has a big tendency to berate himself any time he's not strong enough to defeat whatever is threatening lloyd all by himself, so imagine the self-loath that would ensue if not only were he incapable of protecting rakiel but if he was the danger itself.

and then having rakiel push himself to exhaustion to keep him alive once acheros figures that if he can't put him in external danger than he can just make his own body attack him?? he'd be devastated. he'd feel ashamed and angry at himself for turning into a burden to rakiel, he'd try to brute force his way out of being ill only to crash and burn much the same way damian did when he tried to do the same.

javier is very much a 'gifted kid'. everything sorta comes easy to him, he never had to struggle too much to be good at things, not that he didn't apply himself or that he didn't put any effort, but he never encountered something he truly struggled with or couldn't simply surpass on his own. so when he's attacked by something he can't defend himself against, something that is so out of his league he wouldn't even have any idea of how to start defeating, he'd take it pretty darn hard.

i can see him trying to be more hands on while helping rakiel tho, like be it while he's trying to make the medicine for him or just in general around the clinic. like remember when lloyd told him to grow onions during the wetlands arc? and he ended up enjoying it?? he's just,,, a softie under the cool and badass exterior. so i think he would genuinely enjoy helping around in the clinic, he'd probably take an interest in learning some basic first aid or simple treatments. he likes helping people! he'd enjoy knowing how to bring some relief and heal instead of just fighting. and rakiel would be all over it because 1) free help and 2) hopefully if he keeps javier in the clinic they will avoid life-threatening danger that brings acheros out (doesn't work but it was worth the try)

oh my god now i am actually cooing a little over rakiel treating a patient only to look up and get startled by how close javier is leaning in to see, curious to watch the way rakiel heals his patients. and then when rakiel gently asks him if he wants to learn, he'd hesitate a little, worried that his hands, rough and callused from all the fighting he did in the gladiator arena, would harm more than help, but after some more gentle coaxing and a bit of teasing he accepts. and while he never quite becomes a nurse or attendant he's more than proficient at helping rakiel whenever they need some hands or when rakiel asks him to

I was so delighted to be asked this question! And such a hard choice!

Jumping spiders are probably my favourite and for all the same reasons everyone likes them; adorable, intelligent, charismatic, photogenic, etc. But I don't feel like that's a very interesting answer because everyone already knows jumping spiders are cool, so I'm going with a less popular fave of mine: predaceous diving beetles.

Here's one I found struggling in a dirty puddle in a parking lot a few years ago (temporarily housed in a tupperware before being relocated to a pond):

When it comes up to rest it's refilling the air bubble under it's elytra!   This is a midsized species, but the larger species in the genus Dytiscus are some of the biggest and most beautiful insects found in the northern areas where I grew up. The adults will eat just about anything they can catch and are top predators in small fish-less ponds.

The larvae are fully aquatic and are just so fucked up (affectionate). They move in a way that is very elegant but also alien and kinda incredibly silly. They will also eat anything they can catch (tadpoles, dragonfly larvae, each other, etc) but whereas the adults just grab things and bite them to death with their mandibles, the larvae kill their prey by injecting digestive enzymes and then sucking up the liquid.

As a kid I spent a lot of time peering into ponds and water troughs for bugs, and I was naming these guys and sorting them into groups way before anyone ever thought to buy me a field guide. They're a big part of what got me interested in bugs in the first place and I still have a lot of nostalgia for them.

Hello! Thank you for the well wishes (I did see the original), and I was always gonna answer, it just takes me a bit sometimes.

Hm, I don’t really think about how the characters would interact because the stories are so vastly different that having them all be on the same plane of existence feels weird, but I feel like all the MCs would get along with each other while the LIs would be largely indifferent to each other. With that said, some interesting theoretical interactions:

Luo Binghe, Lan Wangji, and Xie Lian bonding over cooking. The slow dawning horror as lbh realizes that xl actually doesn’t know how to cook, and lwj realizing this first but just keeping a poker face because of experience with wwx to keep xl’s joke going lmao

Xie Lian, Wei Wuxian, and Shen Qingqiu bonding over vast knowledge of their worlds and comparing the similarities and differences in each world’s cultivation and sect formation. Sqq being upset that other worlds have more cohesion than his (rip sqh)

Luo Binge and Wei Wuxian comparing notes on how to best whine their way into sex. Hua Cheng pretends to take notes and gives Xie Lian, who is covering his face, looks over their heads.

Hua Cheng and Luo Binghe competing over who is the meanest and scariest “monster” between them. Wei Wuxian is disqualified on the grounds that he is both human and not mean enough. Xie Lian is disqualified as, though he had his batshit moments, he is a god, not a monster. They are both pouting.

Hua Cheng and Luo Binghe, again, sharing tips on how best to rule their respective realms while the rest talk about the best ways to raise disciples while dealing with inter-sect bullshit. Xie Lian, who has not actually been in charge of multiple disciples at once, adds great commentary so much so that it takes the others a minute to realize he is mostly discussing soldiers.

For you, what are the differences between the Eddie/venom relationship in the comic and Eddie/venom in the movies?(to be more precise, the current films) And which version do you prefer between the movie and the comic? 👀

quick disclaimer: i haven't read the costa run in a bit and haven't touched cates in even longer. i do very much still have Feelings on them, though, and we know i love a good overly long post so buckle up!

as to the differences: oh boy. i think we all know how much i love the movies, bless their cgi hearts, but they are so far from the comics. they're romcoms, folks. as such, their relationship is much more anne-centered in the movies (in the old comics, she's dead, and she comes back briefly in the cates run but eddie and venom are much more Bros there iirc). it creates a lot of interesting interpersonal tension between eddie and venom, and it's a really wonderful love story, but there's much less of the delicious (sorry eddie and v) codependency that we see in the comics.

also! eddie is almost a completely different person in the comics. like, in the comics, eddie's super jacked, apparently in an attempt to make his dad be less absent, and he's also super violent (as comics men tend to be) and Not Okay. this results in much less posturing over the moral implications of eating people and much more fighting people. their main conflict (i say "main" because their writing tends to be kind of inconsistent; looking at you, cates) is still between being a hero or being a villain, but it's one they traverse together rather than being opposing forces. suprisingly, they're still just as domestic as movies symbrock!

tldr the movies are romcoms and the comics are superhero stories.

as to which i prefer- probably the comics, just because they have more room to explore eddie and the symbiote's relationship. they can take a darker turn (e.g. later portions of venom 2018) OR a sweeter turn (the hunger 1996, my favorite venom comic), or anything and everything in between (costa <3). the movies are really sweet and fun too! it's just that there's only like four hours of content between them lol. thank you so much for asking! i got to remember how much i love venom and eddie <3

Outside writing and video games, DnD is my lifelong love, honestly. My tiefling rogue is one of the first characters I ever got to roleplay, second only to a VtM character, so it definitely has a special place. Anything fantasy-related kind of does to some extent. And god, thinking about dropping Aiden into that kind of setting - I might have a couple thoughts.

To name a few:

HEAR ME OUT: Human rogue/artificer combo. I suppose it could be fighter/artificer, too, but I'm partial to rogues, and Aiden checks enough boxes to qualify, so I'm sticking with that. There's some flexibility that's essential for Aiden - on one hand, he could absolutely be a combat-oriented rogue. With the addition of gadgets and whatever else he makes, finds, or buys, on top of general experience and agility, he could be an absolutely lethal opponent. On the other hand, having him be a more typical, stealth-oriented rogue with heavy reliance on gadgetry could also be a possibility. Then there's the combination of both, so really, the possibilities are endless here when it comes to giving him a general "class".

ON THAT NOTE THOUGH, I had another thought:  a battle mage of sorts, though his ability with magic is…limited.  He doesn't have much as far as offensive spells go, at least not in the direct manner most would think of when they hear offensive magic.  His is specialized in that it's mainly disruptive - interfering with counterspells, shattering wards and protective barriers, causing artificer gadgetry to fail and/or backfire, and things of that nature..

He's still a blade for hire, albeit one with some semblance of a conscience, which translates to, he won't accept every job thrown his way, regardless of what the promised pay is.  On top of that, he probably plays a sort of Robin Hood-esque role - stealing from obviously rich patrons in taverns or markets to help the less fortunate (which...may end up being himself on occasion, depending on what sort of storm he has or hasn't dealt with, but overall, his heart is in the right place), on top of being a blade for hire.

He still has the trademark mask, but he's losing the hat.  Everyone, take a moment of silence for this unfortunate, verse-specific loss.

Instead of stemming from the design on his now-missing hat, "The Fox" is a nickname given to the masked individual who continuously escapes even the most skilled guards around his hometown. Their best efforts can't seem to pin this guy down - he's quick, agile, and incredibly clever. Clearly, it's a moniker he has rightfully earned.

I would also like everyone to picture Aiden trying to walk through a busy market with two little kids trying to pull him two different directions.  That is one thing that remains true across all verses; the loving, doting uncle part of him, the protective big brother part, the inconvenience them in any way and I'll fuck your shit up part of him. His methods for playing that part might change slightly to suit different verses, but the gist is the same.

Lena's death.  The cause would undoubtedly change, as obviously in a fantasy verse, there is probably not going to be a car accident.  Maybe it'd be something like, a mercenary's crossbow shot that missed its mark and hit her instead, or a blade meant only to threaten the little girl as a means to scare Aiden into doing whatever it was the wielder wanted him to do, but something went wrong, and…well, regardless of the how, it'd take that to push him into becoming more than just a thug; a halfway decent thug, sure, but still. You best believe he'll be willing to travel across the goddamn world twice, on foot, if it meant tracking the culprit down.  And hey, he might even accept additional party members, if they prove themselves useful to his cause.

I FEEL LIKE I'M MISSING SOME, but I did manage to remember these. Still don't know what happened and I am so sorry sldjfks. But, in any case, this was fun to think about, and I would absolutely love to a) iron out some concrete details instead of playing with what ifs and b) play around in a fantasy - high or low - verse a little. That kind of thing is my JAM

⁃ her dad took her to see star wars (a new hope) in theatres when it first came out. after that they saw the rest of the trilogy every opening night :)

- she preferred hanleia but her dad liked luke-leia… 2 june 1983 was an unforgettable night aksjsjs 

⁃ (btwn s3&4) max would sometimes bunk off school and hang out at family video when she knew robin and steve had a shift together. robin would usually be the one to watch the front desk; steve and max watched movies in the back.  

⁃ speaking of, sometimes robin would be the one to hang out with max watching the movie; she’d switch out with steve whenever there was a customer (but that’s rare during school hours) 

⁃ max was wary of everyone except steve and the party, so she tried to shut robin out. robin didn’t pick up on maxs social cues; steve had said max was kinda a closed off kid… and she rambled her way into max’s heart, i guess

⁃ so uh. max and robin were JUST starting to form a teeny bond when vecna/season 4 happened. max wrote something little for robin in steve’s letter:(

⁃ before she started really pushing everyone away, max would still hang out with lucas, and by extension, erica. erica had one night a week or so after star court where she just freaked out about everything that happened. she found max while looking for lucas, and she just hugged her really tight. max didn’t know what to say, so she just hugged her back. that’s how lucas found them (after he came back from like. the bathroom or something)

⁃ after the byers moved away, max would always buy two scrunchies when she’d get a new one; a matching one to give to el. (it was promise to herself that she’d stay alive and see her again.)

⁃ once, she ran into erica after school. erica seemed down; she was having a hard time in middle school. max had just gotten the bright pink ones, so she had them on her. she gave one to erica to try and cheer her up. (erica: are you sure? max, showing off her matching one: yep. now we match :))

⁃ erica told lucas as soon as she got home. it was right after they’d broken up because max was pulling herself away. lucas was kinda just happy that at least max wasn’t shut off from everyone.

⁃ (he also helped erica put the scrunchie in her hair. even though she could do it herself)

⁃ el sent the party all postcards from california; she spent ages picking out which postcard was for which friend. she got one with a californian skatepark on for max

⁃ max wrote back with everyone; she didn’t say much, though. 

⁃ she put the postcard right in the centre of her dresser. it lasted for a week; then she got too sad when she looked at it, because california was such a different time in her life and she misses el so badly. she flips the postcard over and shoves it in the corner.

⁃ she starts to find it hard to concentrate on books after the byers leave and everything is getting bad. instead, she starts looking at any old poetry books she can find. they’re from yard sales, hawkins library, her moms old stuff.

⁃ she copies down the ones that remind her of lucas, and slip them in his locker.

⁃ (she stops when they break up.)

So if 1010 and sayu swap managers, what’s sayu like under Neon J’s management?

Tbh, my manager swap AU is more about how the battle mechanics are reskinned, so Sayu doesn't actually change that much in it ^^;

In this AU, she becomes a part of a quintet with the other mermaids from Doki Doki Mermaid Club.

I imagine that they're probably all based on a different anime girl trope, the same way Sayu is modeled on the generic shoujo protagonist.

Other than that, I never really developed her side of the AU, OTL.

hello! if you don’t mind my asking, how did you get/make neve shepard’s hair? i’m trying to do a headmorph for the first time and i’m trying to figure out if i should just use a nexus mod for hair or if i have any other options. neve looks amazing by the way!

thank you! i was planning on converting hairs myself, but i looked on nexus mods first to narrow down some ts4 content creators that were happy with people converting their creations to other games. i found this mod, which i believe doesn't contain the hairstyle i'm using, but i converted this one (by the same original creator) myself.

since neve’s head mesh is replacing default femshep’s, i replaced the iconic/default feshep hair with the one i wanted to use. to do that and use something already converted from nexus mods, i believe you’d have to manually unpack the mesh and textures and then replace the iconic hair yourself. it might be straightforward if it has the same amount of bones (42), but if it doesn’t, you’d have to go into 3dsmax or blender and copy that hair’s bones over.

i learned how to edit/convert hairs with 3dsmax months ago using this tutorial for OG me3, but since then i’ve become more comfortable with blender so i adapted the method for that instead and used this guide for importing/exporting.

good luck! feel free to ask me any more questions but i just learn things as i go and only started attempting the whole custom headmesh thing yesterday. i also started messing w blender for fun about 5 months ago and still haven’t watched/read any proper tutorials so i don’t know a lot about how things work on like. a technical level. there’s also a mass effect modding discord that might have some helpful info about things written by people far more competent and knowledgable than me!
