If you think about it, you are just a plot device to get the story moving. You barely get any real screentime, your backstory isn't really looked backed on unless another character has something to do with it, and the "real" main characters don't really care about you. Because, you? You are just some guy/gal following around their adventures, and an errandboy.
They even misgender you if you pick the female character.

Chizuru Town: The Dark and the Cold
TW: perverts TW: Death TW: Blood TW: Dragon Raja LMAO
Caesar and the MC should have been best friends. I kid you not. Revamped Story Quest in Chizuru below the cut!
In Siberia, winter hung long and low. Just as the tropic summer never seemed to end, the frigid canopy of arctic air never really left the place. For a few months, the sun didn’t rise over the horizon. At the peak of what should have been day, you only saw the glow of what looked more like the start of the dawn, before the sun rolled over and fell back under the horizon. Darkness descended in full and the stars were your only source of light unless you made your own.
The cold was so oppressive that it froze the sea. At night, instead of waves crashing on a golden shore, the ocean groaned like someone dying. Only in the summer, when the ice and permafrost softened, did you see hints of green. But they were always short. Eventually, the winter returned. Those who wanted to pretend it would not return were caught out by the fierce wind, unprepared, and froze to death in seconds.
Darkness and cold were embedded in you, MC, more than the weather. You understand the harshness of the world. Even though Caesar was doing his best to ‘play by the rules’ that icy law of ‘survival of the most deadly' was creeping up to surround all of you, like frost on a window. It had swallowed up Kitty and now Ms. Makoto. Only Caesar, Chu Zihang, and Lu Mingfei were left.
If that icy law dared threaten them, you would not hold back or play by any rules.
Caesar glimpsed this reality and tacitly acknowledged that Kitty’s death and Makoto’s offering to serve as bait for the gangsters was not in his game plan. He was looking outside down the drainage pipe through the hole in the wall of the dilapidated locker room. He could see the street below.
A heavy rain storm had moved over the city of Chizuru. EVA had darkened the city to help you escape the eyes of the Hydra underworld gang, but soon her grip would lose out to Kaguya, the Hydra’s own supercomputer.
Below, Caesar saw cars parked, engines still running, lights still on. Doubtless, these gangsters thought this would be a quick and easy job. Plus, the headlamps of cars served as good illumination. So they didn’t worry about them getting stolen. After all, they ran this town. No one dared touch their cars for fear of getting killed over it. Caesar nodded once. “Let’s see how good these kids are at racing.”
Kids. The word makes you want to spit acid. They were quite young but had nearly killed you countless times!
Caesar turned to look at you, gauging your reaction. “They are just kids. I hold the adults behind them more responsible.”
You stare back at him in silence but your expression is blank, listening. Your mind offers no arguments against the facts. Caesar’s logic seeps through, melting your frozen emotions. They had pursued you relentlessly, as if under strict orders not to leave until you were confirmed dead. Some of their weapons were military grade. It was true that children -- sixteen to twenty year olds -- wouldn't have been able to acquire such immense firepower without some sort of help from a higher authority.
Caesar’s eyes drop from your face. “Is that a local high school uniform?”
“Yes,” you say, your voice unexpectedly hoarse.
“Change out of it into one of the cheongsams here. I’ll be taking the car and I don’t want to be seen in a sports car with someone who looks like a high schooler. They might mistake me for one of those perverts!”
Even now, he was thinking of something like this? He could have escaped immediately but was concerned about his image? You quickly obey, snatching one of the red and gold cheongsams with a Chinese dragon embroidery off the hangers and stepping into the dressing room.
As you remove our clothes, you hear Caesar say. “Fold it up neatly, so we can return it to whomever you got it from.”
Your eyes widen in disbelief. Well, of course, you needed to steal it. But you never thought once of taking it back. As you slip into the cheongsam, the smooth fabric falls over your skin. A mirror lays against the wall and you use it to pull the zipper up in the back. The cheongsam clings to your form like a second skin.
Caesar wasn’t just following the rules. If he was just following the rules, he wouldn’t have cared about any of this.
You had told Caesar about your experience in watching your young friends get killed. He wanted to get back at those people, not become one of them by killing anyone young himself. No matter how hard things got, Caesar was the same because he believed in what he did and required everyone around him to rise to the same standard of morality.
You step out of the dressing room and Caesar nods. “Alright, let’s go. Zihang, you can pick whatever granny car suits you best. I’ll be in the Black Viper!” He grinned broadly.
“Will Ms. Makoto be alright?” Lu Mingfei asked.
Chu Zihang nodded slightly. “She wasn’t seen with us. And they’re under orders. If they were going to hurt her, they would have done so right then and there. She’ll be fine.”
“Excuse me, my lady.” Caesar bends over to pick you up and keep you out of the dirty water.
You take the pipe two streets down and then hurry back to the running cars. Even now, Caesar opens the door for you first and then slides over the hood to the other side. The car interior is shiny and black with an LED touch panel lighting it up like a spaceship. In the center console, you spot a bag of white powder.
“Heroin?” You ask.
He points to the door on the other side of you. “Put on your seatbelt. How did you know it was heroin?”
“We used such medicine in Russia, I should know how to identify it.”
“To you, it’s medicine. Here it’s illegal drugs used to hype up the gangsters and also to make money. No wonder they were so crazy and could afford such vehicles.” Caesar opened a fuse box and started pulling out wires. While he worked, he asked, “Have you ever been in a car like this?”
“No.” You say, tucking the high school uniform under the seat. “Where I’m from, the only way to get around is either by ship or by dogsled.”
He grins. “Good. You’re about to get the ride of your life!”
“Ah, in return, then I will take you dog sledding.”
“You mean it?” Caesar immediately whipped his head around. His eyes glowed with excitement and joy, like a child being told they were going to Disney World. He was so enthusiastic that you felt embarrassed. In that sudden smile, you realized that he was actually quite good looking.
“It’s… It’s not all that special.”
“What would be more special than riding on a dogsled with a beautiful lady?” He sat up and put on his own seatbelt while continuing to work on the car’s controls.
The car isn’t free to move however. There are vehicles parked around, blocking your way out. But you don’t see Chu Zihang or Lu Mingfei in any of them.
“Beautiful?” You look at him with a confused expression. No one had ever called you beautiful before. You shake your head. “You’re just saying that to make me feel better about Kitty.”
His eyes narrow and he suddenly grins in a way that reminds you of a devil. “No, this is how I get back at them for Kitty.” He yanked on the gear shift between the leather seats and slammed down on the accelerator. The car leaped backwards and smashed into the blue Porsche behind them, folding the front end of it.
He shifted again, this time the car leaped forward right into a Mini Cooper. Caesar, eyes shining in furious joy, turns the wheel and rolls over a custom green vintage Buick to their left. The car you were in had turned into a vicious beast in his hands. It smashed doors, windows, mirrors and headlamps until you were surrounded by destruction.
“Hey MC,” He laughed, “Check out the rearview mirror.”
He reaches up and turns it so you can see. Behind you, the boys all run out of the cafe, holding their heads and wailing in despair at the millions of dollars in damage Caesar had caused. He watches with clear delight as your face breaks into a sunny grin.
Suddenly, a burst of gunfire sends the boys scattering. The squeal of tires is heard and you see Chu Zihang and Lu Mingfei speed away in a Red Viper. Caesar clicks his tongue. “Why does he have to pick the same car…?” He laments.
The engine roars as Caesar commands the car to push the front end of the Mini Cooper ahead of you and shove it out of the way. But he’s still looking back at the young men who are scrambling to find undamaged cars and climb inside.
“There’s a lovely mountain road near here. With really nice curves. You don’t get sick do you?”
“You mean motion sickness? No, I’ve been on ships before. I don’t get dizzy.” You look behind you into shining headlights. The boys are prepared to give chase. It wouldn’t be much of a fun race if Caesar got too far ahead. He wanted them to see how much better a driver he was.
He let the headlights of the Maserati behind him get just close to kiss his bumper, then downshifted and floored it. MC squeaks and is pressed back against the seat. The headlights of the car, so close one moment, faded quickly behind you, like the other cars were standing still. The main highway up the mountains climbed steeply into a curve ahead but Caesar didn’t tap the brakes. The engine kept up the steady purr and took the turns perfectly smoothly.
It felt like flying, rising into the sky on a great beast. The trees passed you by in a blur and the guard rail looked like a shiny silver ribbon in the headlights. The feeling of delight tickles your chest and you giggle.
It was such an unfamiliar feeling, one you shouldn’t be having right now. Yet, now it was being teased out of you. It was as though the sun had peeked over the horizon in midwinter. Caesar had actually won. In the side mirror that remained from the demolition derby earlier, you see the lights of Chizuru burst back into bloom. The gangsters had returned to town and left you alone.
You’d never met anyone like Caesar. So you didn’t know it was possible to live like he did and still be able to survive. You doubted him at every turn and you were forced to reconsider again and again. This world that created predators like you could also create someone else. Someone who survived bloodlessly, cleanly. Something like this was mythical, like a unicorn.
Or a dragon.
A musical tone sounded in the car. It was coming from Caesar’s pocket. He pulled out his cellphone and held it to his ear. You don’t know what was said, but his expression suddenly changed from one of breezy confidence to blazing fury! He slams the brakes hard and the car spins in a complete one eighty to face the opposite direction.
“Did they say the name Makoto Aso?”
The hairs rise on the back of your neck.
Caesar takes a deep breath and lets it out but his hand is gripping the steering wheel so tightly that the leather cover squeals under the pressure.
You can’t help but think that she’s dead, that the gangsters had killed her.
“What did he say last?” Caesar asked.
A pause.
“Oh.. he won’t have long to wait to get his car back.” Caesar’s voice was low and his smile was threatening.
Was it nice to stand in the sun for a while? It sure felt nice. You say goodbye to it in your heart. You would never see it again. The world had made its true nature known. It was darkness and winter.
“I’m afraid we’re going to have to cut our joyride a little short. They have Ms. Makoto.”
“Is she dead?”
“No. Hold tight.”
You let your breath out in a whoosh and, for a second, you think that maybe there would be another chance to end this bloodlessly. The thought pops into your head and then disappears like a comet, a last glimmer of hope before you change your mind. No, it's really over. These people were not going to let you go.
Caesar observed the light leave your eyes and picked up the phone again. “Mingfei, tell Zihang to take you a few blocks away from the Cafe. Use the back entrance he used before, if possible. Find her and rescue her, I’ll buy you time. Mingfei, be ready to provide us cover fire. Yes, I know you only have one gun left! That will be enough. You’re a good shooter, even by Cassell standards. You’ll outshoot those boys easily.”
He was still trying.. But the icy cold had gripped your heart again and you could no longer believe him. They’d been outgunned and now outsmarted. As you return to town, you see that the cars that had been pursuing you turned back, not out of respect for Caesar’s driving skills, but to create a barrier between you and the cafe. Sitting on the hoods of those cars were the workers at the Cafe, still in their cheongsams, shivering in the rain, serving as human shields.
Ms. Makoto was on the roof of the building that was set ablaze. It wasn’t a steel structure but made from old wood construction. So not even the driving rain could put it out. The wind ruffled her skirt as she stood on the edge of the building. The heat must have been terrible. If you don’t hurry, she would either burn to death or jump to her death.
You don't look at Caesar. You’re still, as if your whole body were completely frozen. He was not a magical unicorn or a mighty dragon. He’d just underestimated his opponent.
The man in the striped suit who had been caught stealing Makoto’s panties danced on top of a van in sheer glee at seeing you again, a shotgun in his hands. The gangsters cheered and chanted in victory. Rather than being the weak person you thought he was, he was the one who had ratted Makoto out. He’d hid in the locker you’d shoved him in, perfectly aware that she had helped you escape. He’d just pretended to be intimidated.
He was actually the leader of the whole group.
“Maybe I should have let you have that Beretta.” Caesar’s voice was cold.
You huff once through your nose as your only acknowledgement. It was too late to regret now. Part of you feels sad that you were right about needing to kill those gangsters. But you don’t request he give you a weapon. There was a principle in hunting that you don’t shoot until you’re very close to your quarry, close enough to see the pattern of light in the beast's eyes. That meant a lot of time, and a lot of patience. The goal was one shot, one kill. Instant. The deer or elk would drop without a struggle.
If you rushed in now and poured your violence onto them, Caesar would have reason to doubt you because you didn’t give him time to implement his plan. You feel bad for Ms. Makoto, but you’re going to sit on your hands.
After all, if Caesar could pull a miracle out of this, maybe he would truly be a magician.
But if things went wrong, and Caesar’s life was at risk, he could put forth no further arguments against your actions and you would be free from objections, not only now, but in the future as well.
So when he says, “Stay in the car.” you nod obediently.
Caesar has parked just out of range of their bullets. Even if they had more high powered weaponry, they were unskilled and would likely miss at this distance.  Caesar takes his own gun and shoots through the windshield of the car. It shattered into a spiderweb of cracks and now you can’t see anything. He uses the butt of the gun to make a hole in the glass to see through. The rain pours in, running over the leather interior.
Caesar’s phone rang again. “Mingfei?” This time he put it on speaker.
“Yes, he’s on the phone with us again.”
“Translate. Don’t leave anything out. Understand?”
“Okay. Is… MC alright?”
“She’s more than fine. With me right now. What is he saying?”
The man was on the phone, seated cross legged on the roof of the van, smiling like an imp.
Mingfei translated: “He says he was grateful to the young master of the Gattuso family for bringing his car back.”
“Tell him I’ll bury him in a coffin full of ladies’ underwear.”
“Boss, don’t make threats in this situation, okay? They have Ms. Makoto!”
“I’m aware. Just translate.” Caesar was calm, focussed.
Mingfei sighed. “No need for you to worry about me, Gattuso-kun, I’m already prepared.”
The man in the striped suit produced a pair of silk panties from his pocket, pressed them to his nose and inhaled deeply. “Ah! Ms. Makoto really smells pleasant!”
Your eyelids stretch a little wider. His lack of fear was chilling you even deeper, like an icy wind over an already frozen sea. Without moving your head, your eyes shift to Caesar.
This man wants Caesar to come to him. He wanted to fight. There had to be a good reason for his bravado. However, Caesar was falling for it. You could see the veins pop into relief on his neck and forehead. And just like with everything Caesar decides, you know, deep down, there’s no point in talking him out of it. If he turned around now, Ms. Makoto would surely die.
Caesar’s eyes scanned the defensive line, moving over the huddled victims on the hoods of the cars. Now it was Caesar, not you, who gave off the killer’s aura, like a bull elk, stamping the ground and tossing his mighty antlers.
He lifted his shoulders in a deep sigh. You relax your hands that had begun to grip your skirt, a habit that hadn’t appeared in you since you were ten years old.
“Who’s giving you orders?”
“Orders? Does Akabe need orders? Hahaha! No one instructs Akabe except the Lord Takeda Shingen himself!” The man is practically falling over himself in glee.
“Whatever that man is offering, the Gattuso family offers three times as much!” Caesar said with measured calm. “I guarantee that you will get the money alive.”
“Hehehehehe! Luckily, that Lord has already told me what kind of family the Gattuso family is, otherwise, I would have really been tempted by that price!” The suited man, Akabe, suddenly stopped laughing, like a switch had been turned off. “I’ll get the money alive, but I’ll be shot in the head before I can spend a cent of it… right, Gattuso-kun…?”
Caesar had nothing to say, since he was right. The people who blackmailed money from the Gattusos never lived long enough to spend it. He finally gave in. “Then what do you want?”
“You have a gun in your hand, right? Use the gun to shoot yourself in the calf and wrist. We know that you, Gattuso-kun, are a Class A hybrid, and Chu kun is also a Class A hybrid, and we’re too scared to get close when heroes like you are able-bodied.” Akabe said smoothly. “We don’t want to kill you either, our mission is to bring you to that Lord, for disposal.”
His words fell on your ears and they stirred you inside. Right now, Chu Zihang was running around a burning building. Mingfei Lu was going to start a gunfight, one against dozens, and Caesar and Chu Zihang were the targets. They said nothing about you. It’s like you weren’t even here. They can’t see you through the broken glass so you unbuckle your seatbelt.
“Wait.” Caesar says.
The man in the suit scowls. “Wait for what?”
“Mingfei! Why did you translate that!” Caesar hissed.
“What? I wasn’t supposed to?” Mingfei squeaked.
You slip out of your cheongsam, not caring if Caesar saw or not. His morality no longer applied. Following it was obviously  going to get them all killed. “Tell him you’re going to offer me as a payment for your lives. It will buy you more time.”
“How do you know you won’t shoot me in the head once I’m unable to fight back? Translate that Mingfei.”
“Because I’m a man of my word!” Akabe said.
“How can I trust the word of a man who sneaks into the women’s locker room and steals underwear?”
You’re putting the schoolgirl uniform back on, buttoning the white shirt. “Give me your knife…” you whisper. Much to your delight, he hands it over. The word ‘Dictator’ is etched into the side and you use it to slice off the hem of the skirt, leaving just enough fabric for decency.
“It’s just entertainment, who doesn’t have a hobby? I just like the fabrics that smell good after coming off a girl’s body. It’s the same reason you like cigars, Gattuso-kun!” The man shamelessly takes several deep whiffs of his newly pilfered underpants.
“Okay.” You said confidently, “Tell him that you’ll offer me as payment instead. It doesn’t matter if he accepts or not, we're just buying time for Chu Zihang, right?”
He hesitates, his eyes flicking towards you.
You lean on the center console. “I promise, I won’t do anything. I trust you to handle this.”
He nods slowly. “Then. How about I offer you a fresh cigar?” He says to Akabe.
You open the passenger side door and step out. Caesar made it clear that he wasn’t lying when he said you were beautiful and you felt that, if you could stake your odds on anything, it would be his sincerity. After all, Caesar had seen many beautiful women before you. He had a beautiful fiancee. You just had to make it work so that you were irresistible to this man.
While browsing the comic book store, you picked up a manga. In the first panels, a girl walked in a school uniform, holding her black bag in front of her. Her hands were clasped, her arms framing her oversized chest, the fabric wrinkling just so, to show the outline. In the next panel, a gentle breeze lifts the hem of her skirt, showing a peek of the hem of her panties. Lu Mingfei saw what you were looking at and snatched it away, screeching that it was inappropriate.
You had no doubt that this man read comics like that though.
So that’s why you cut the hem of the skirt and when you stepped out of the car, you held your hands in front of you, just like the girl in the manga. The rain soaked you in minutes and, though you still were far away, the fabric soaked up the water, and clung to your young body as you walked slowly.
Your black hair was loose, falling over your shoulders and sticking to your shiny face. All the boys in front of the Internet Cafe were in stunned disbelief. If that weren’t enough, the universe conspired with you and the wind came and lifted your hair and the hem of your skirt. The eyes of every boy followed that hem, entranced to see nothing but skin and then, a tiny, peek of black lace.
Chu Zihang only knew your size. He didn’t care about the style of women’s underwear. He just reached into the vending machine, grabbed what was nearest and tossed it to you, unaware that he was handing you sexy lace.
The man in the striped suit suddenly ran his sleeve over his mouth and chin to clear his drool.. You could no longer hear the translation, but from the look of his wide eyes and his breathless gasping in the phone, you figured you’d done a good enough job.
He screeched at the boys who snapped out of their trances and hurried to get behind you. He was roaring at them, even pointing his gun at them, making sure they knew that you were his personal prize. Once you reached the van, he reached up to you and helped you climb on top of the van to sit with him, all the way, screeching at the boys below you, who averted their eyes obediently.
He wrapped one arm around your waist and sneered at Gattuso some more before turning to lick your cheek and smell your neck. His eyes are wild as he talks on the phone, laughing, gleefully delighted. He was talking rapidly now. Though you couldn’t understand, it was clear he thought he’d won and won beyond his wildest dreams!
Then, he suddenly stops. His smile fades and he turns to you. He asks a single question and you hear the name, “Chu Zihang.”
Then a sudden explosion! Your eyes rise as the flames have exploded on the rooftop! Where was Chu Zihang? Did he die? Why did this weirdo say his name? Were you too late?”
The man grabs you and presses the shotgun to your back. He’s screaming at Caesar now, fiercely gleeful, but not in a way that was from a pleasant heart, but from the heart of a predator who had his prey.
The headlamps on the black Viper flash in the dark and the engine roars to life.. A blast of suppressive gunfire streams out from where Lu Mingfei is hidden, just as the car is accelerating straight towards you.
The gangsters and their hostages scatter and fall to the ground,  but they’re too stunned to react. They don’t know whether to find the unseen gunman or fire on the car that’s nearly on them!
The man in the suit sits still, holding you close, gun to your back. His eyes are now on Caesar.
Caesar is crouched on the hood of the car, his long blond hair bristling on his face, a cold determination in his eyes. But those eyes were no longer blue.
They were a blazing, solid gold!
The boys are out of time to pick their target. Now Caesar pulls his own gun and fires on them from the hood of the raging car. Now they have to flee both the gunfire and the charging vehicle!
Caesar’s voice rings out like a church bell. “Makoto! Jump! I’ll catch you!”
The sight of his heroic pose, roar of the flames, the gunfire, and the screams -- They should have been traumatic. But now, they’re beautiful to you. If only Caesar had been at Black Swan Bay. How many people could he have saved? If you had fallen from the cliff in that case, he would have caught you, right?
An unnatural burst of wind surrounds the car and launches Caesar from it. His eyes are clear, straight ahead as he straightens his body like a rocket, easily clearing four stories.  His hand is  reaching out to Ms. Makoto. She jumps to meet him, completely trusting.
Lu Mingfei is keeping the boys below pinned. Nothing can stop him. He was going to do it.
A cold laughter sounds in your ear.
Among the hundreds of shotgun blasts, a shotgun very close to you flashed. Dozens of lead pellets formed a sheet to catch Caesar in their deadly net. Caesar reacted instantly, arcing his body to avoid the shot. The pellets shredded his shirt, barely missing his neck.
But he had made a fatal mistake. He flailed desperately, brushing the fingers of Ms. Makoto as she fell past him.
Makoto Asou slapped the ground heavily. The flooding on the street lifted up in a splash that was stained with the red of her blood. In the next moment, the out of control Black Viper smashed into her body. Caesar landed on the car as it and drove her into the front of the building. Her blood spattered on the windshield as it crashed through wall after wall, disappearing inside.
“NO!” Caesar’s desperate cry, a wail of fear and despair, made you close your eyes.
You knew that feeling so intimately, as if you and Caesar now inhabited the same brain. You lost Vera just like this -- right in front of you. Only, you didn’t have the ideals like Caesar. The world wasn’t really supposed to be a certain way, it’s just the way it was. Still, you can’t help but feel sad for Makoto and for the shiny star of hope that Caesar had been and never would be again.
What would he do now, now that he had lost the fight like you did back then? Would his eyes harbor the darkness of Christmas over Northern Siberia, the Winter Solstice, where there was no sunlight to appear for another month and a half?
You lift your eyes to the overcast sky. You could no longer see the stars of Chizuru either.

Here's Concept Fic no. 2 which mostly features Phoenix, or by his true name, Phenex. Any warnings will be in the tags and as usual, comments and critiques are always welcomed ❤
Tumblr media
It's been a week since Isidore was discharged from the hospital after surprising everyone by waking up from his coma. There were tears of joy as his parents and siblings hugged the still drowsy hybrid, Durante, and his large family taking turns kissing and hugging him. The only person who didn't participate in such a joyous occasion was a man with the chiseled features of a Greek God and bright crimson eyes.
He merely watched from outside the ward with a vague smile before evaporating in a cloud of ash, leaving no traces behind.
Right now, the stranger is conducting a study with his eagle companion when the door is kicked with such strength before the intruder casually walks to his side with a cheeky grin.
"Just dropping by to see my favorite infernal author doing and my my, you seem busy today"
Says the demon as he smacks his shoulder playfully.
"Any particular reason you decided to drop by at my place? I doubt you're here for a small chit chat, you're not that kind of guy"
"Always astute, aren't we, Phenex? Very well, Ralphie asks me if you can teach the kid how to hone his new powers since...you know..."
"If you're talking about Isidore, then you'd have nothing to worry about but..."
Phoenix places his quill onto the table and looks at his fellow companion with an urgent look on his face.
"We need to keep him away from those Cassell folks, especially from that Lu Mingfei boy"
"Hang on, what are you talking about?"
"In due time, my old friend. Let's just say I pissed off a couple of people on my way back, no biggie~"
Phenex answers with a smile that shows no warmth as his eyes turn a shade darker as he recalls the incident and goodness, what a lovely sight it was.
"You cruel monster, you need to tell me more about what happened in the Red Well. I'll bring Raphael and Ciarán over, does the usual place sounds good?"
"Splendid, now run along and go torture some poor souls elsewhere. I still need to finish my report"
As Val leaves, the feathered demon goes back to work on recording the specimen though his mind begins to wander off to that wonderful memory.
The sky was bleak and gray as Isidore clutched his gaping chest, blood oozing out of every wound as he falls to the ground, out of breath. Herzog...was dead but it felt like an empty victory as he gazed at the corpses of the Uesugi siblings. Tears began to flow freely as the hybrid blamed himself for their deaths and how weak he was. He'd do anything to bring them back even at the cost of his own life.
"Now now, dry those pretty eyes, my little songbird~"
A voice snapped him from his stupor.
Isidore tried to focus on the owner of the voice and was surprised to see a well-dressed man with a Cheshire smile.
"It appears that you want to give these...mortals a second chance? Even if they weren't the best of people to you?"
"Those people..." Isidore coughed heavily, blood dripping down from his lips "...are victims of an actual monster, I'm glad the fucker is dead..."
The stranger merely smiled and sit next to him, not caring that his pants were stained with the hybrid's blood.
"Goodness aren't you noble?"
"What exactly are you...?"
"Why I'm here to you bring you back home~"
"Home?" Isidore scoffed "That place was destroyed twenty years ago... I doubt that still exists"
The stranger only chuckled before he corrected his pessimistic response.
"You misunderstood my words, little bird... I meant, your real home. Does Kahina ring a bell to you?"
"W-wait, you mean..."
He nodded and offered his hand to the hybrid.
"We've already brought your sister home, now it's your turn. Just grab my hand"
The hybrid looked hesitant at the hand but the thought of his sister being with their parents overridden the doubt he had as he weakly grabbed it.
"There's just one more thing I need to do"
"And what would that be, my dear?"
"Give them a second chance for life, one that will let them live the lives they deserve"
The outsider blinked a couple of times before letting out a hearty chuckle to the peeved hybrid.
"Quite a bold desire to state in front of a demon, little bird. Of course, it can be done but only if you agree to forfeit your soul for it"
Isidore's eyes widened at the grim condition of the wish but he remained resolute with his decision as he shook his hand firmly.
"Very well, but your parents will not be happy with this that's for sure little bird~"
The stranger did a couple of incantations as the light in Isidore's eyes slowly began to dim until his heart finally stopped. With a Cheshire-like smile, he plucked out the still heart from the hybrid's chest with utmost care before consuming it as if it were a rare delicacy. He let out a pleasurable moan as he savored the taste that lingered on his tongue.
"I must say little bird, your soul is one of the finest I've tasted in eons. Not even the angels of Paradiso could compare to such complex flavor~"
After having his fill of the organ, he immediately began his work as the outsider summoned orbs of fire, watching it float on top of the bodies of the Uesugi siblings. As he slashed his wrist and let the blood trickle down to the orbs, watching it transform into heart-shaped crystals. He inserted the crystals into their chest after making an incision on it and stitched them up. Without waiting for the results, he walked back to the dead hybrid and carried him bridal style.
"Let's get you back home, little bird. Everyone is anxious to see you again"
Before he could caress Isidore's cold cheek, the outsider quickly moved aside as a bullet barely grazed his cheek. When he turned around to admonish the perpetrator, he was greeted with three furious aces.
"Put. Him. Down. Now!"
Caesar ordered him harshly, the grip on his gun tightened as he noticed the newbie's body. Johan already brandished his blade, eyes glowing gold with fury at the peculiar stranger. Lu Mingfei was beyond livid having to lose not Eri but the freshman as well and he has no hesitation to kill the fiend right where he stand.
"Pray do tell, young Gattuso... Why would I do such a thing? I don't recall you summoning me~"
"I don't give a shit why you're here, you'll pay for what you've done to our freshman!"
The stranger cruelly laughed at their faces, infuriating the aces even further as he touched his face.
"Such a lovely darling, to think you were used as a living weapon for these unappreciative mortals and their egocentric societies~"
Caesar fired another shot and the stranger merely sprouted out three pairs of wings and flew out of reach, a portal formed above his head.
"I'd like to play a little longer but his family is anxious to see their baby boy again. Oh, and Luminous?"
"You can thank him for bringing your dearest princess back from the dead"
The stranger motioned to the Uesugi siblings who slowly rose from their slumber, dazed and confused. Mingfei was stunned at the revelation and tried to call out Erii's name just to make sure.
Taking this opportune moment to escape, the stranger immediately flew into the portal as the aces cursed and tried to shoot him down.
"If only you were there to see it, Altair. The hatred and desperation was simply addicting, I absolutely when that brat tried to call out his name desperately"
The eagle merely shakes his head and squawks at his master about the neglected research.
"Oh, silly me. Thanks for reminding me...Now, let's continue where we left off...If we add..."

A fish out of water (Johann Chu x fem!reader)
(A/N): The return of my bad writing part 1. This was supposed to be wholesome not angsty, I don't know what happened here. A little bit of a WARNING, MAYBE SOME TRIGGER THINGS reader is going through some stuff, and there is a hint to a start of a toxic relationship, it's not supposed to be toxic tho.
And I don't know how to write Johann so if this comes across a bit OOC I am very sorry for writing your husbando so badly.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Luminous stared at Johann after the question that he asked, he couldn't look at him the same. "Senpai, did I hear you correctly? You want me to tell you where you should take a girl out on a date?" Luminous' confusion was clearly written on his face.
"Yes, I thought you were experienced in this. You always said that you liked a tone of girls." Luminous let out a breath that he was holding in for too long. "Yes, that's true, but I never have the guts to ask them out." Johann let himself into Luminous' dorm, sitting on the only clean part of the bed that wasn't littered with snack wrappers. His face looked helpless, seeking answers. "Please, I need your help." He said in his monotone voice that had a slight nervousness to it.
This came to Luminous pricing around his dorm room, looking for an answer to give to his senpai. "Maybe I should just tell her I like her after a walk through the campus." Johann spoke up after he saw the trouble on his face. "Senpai, that's not going to cut it. You should... I don't know, take her to the aquarium, girls love aquariums! And you surely know at least one fact for every fish there."
"That is true, but how do I ask her to came to the aquarium with me?" Johann was mentally writing down every single word that left Luminous' lips.
"That's the hard part for me. Probably the best time would be after school or if you help her study maybe then... Senpai, can I be honest with you for a sec? I didn't even know you liked someone."
"Why would you say that, wasn't it clear, as people say, that it was written on my face."
"But senpai, you don't change faces often."
"Oh, I'm sorry. I'll try to be more expressive." Johann proceeded to say, shutting the door behind him. "Senpai, why do you sometimes make things so awkward?" Luminous said to himself, before turning on his laptop to watch the anime Finger and him were binging, to tell him spoilers.
"(Y/N), you're doing really good in class lately, you know that I'll always help you if you're struggling." Johann complimented you "And I've been meaning to ask. Would you like to go to the aquarium with me? They have a new deep sea exhibition that would be very interesting to see." You confusing looked up at him. Girls would flock at his feet just to get a hello from him, now the president of Lionheart was personally asking you to look at marine life with him. "Yeah, it was a stupid idea I'll jus-" You cut him off. "That would be wonderful, senpai! I'll go with you." The words that left your lips relaxed Johann's whole body, not that you could see that he was tense in the first place. "I'll meet you at the train platform at four." You nodded before he left you alone, your books still scattered on the table.
As promised Johann waited for you at the train platform, dressed a lot more casual then you were used to seeing him. He was looking at something on his phone, you waved to grab his attention. "Ready, senpai?" Said in the happiest tone that could escape from your lips.
The two of you border and seated in one of the comfier parts of the train.
There were a thousand thing's going through Johann's head, but they all seem to go away when his eyes landed on you. You were excitingly looking through the window, your eyes following every tree the train passed, he wondered when was the last time you left campus. The tall trees transformed into even taller buildings, then it was a quick ride to central station.
When the two of you got off you admired your surroundings, big flashy signs next to small clothes shops and boutiques. He called to you, wanting to see the exhibition before the aquarium closed.
You two walked - not even for five minutes - before Johann spoke up, it was wired hearing him start conversation. "Looking over your grades, there's one that got my attention, I believe it was in your physics class. If you want to study or train you can always ask me to join you. I'm free on Wednesdays, my training is always cut short. And plus don't you have that seminar about sea turtles for biology maybe we can get some good reference photos at our destination." You slauched a little bit more, baffled at how much he knew. "No, but thank you, I don't need help. Plus it would be selfish to take hours out of your day." You sheepishly said, not wanting him to know about your bad grades in maths too.
The sound of crashing waves was even more present here then in the streets, you thrillingly stared walking faster when you saw the aquarium, wanting to see creatures you only saw in photos. Johann got half the distance covered when you reached the door. "Senpai, you're so slow! Are the hours of training not enough for you!?" You teased your senpai slightly, you were too excited to wait. Johann reached the door, apologizing for keeping you waiting.
The smell of salt was present when you entered the building, full of families and couples alike. The crowd giving your anxiety a boost, but it was gone the second Johann yanked you in line for the tickets. You saw how girls where looking at him it wasn't a secret that he was good looking, his mysterious aura only making him more attractive. You got out your wallet when approaching the counter, pulling out the ten dollars you still had, and paying for your ticket.
The tank that you first passed already peaked your interest. It was full of colourful tropical fish. "Those are clownfish they live in coral reefs. As you can see they come in a variety of different colours not just the stereotypical orange we often assign them to." Johann's voice was so emotionless you thought that he was giving a class presentation. " Ehm... Thanks, senpai? You know that I can read the sign next to it, right?" Your senpai turned away, wanting to impress you with his knowledge but admittedly failing at doing so. "Why don't we go to the deep sea part, but we can also stop at any tank you want."
"Ok, senpai!"
You were looking around, desspred to find something cool, like, a shark or a jellyfish but the most interesting thing there was, were some squids flouting around their spacious tank and a moraine eel sticking it's head out of a pile of rocks.
"So what are you most excited to see?" Johann asked you when ascending the stairs to the exhibition. "Definitely a Vampire squid or a Dumbo octopus! They seam so cool!" The child in you awakened from the question, remembering the cartoons about sea animals you used to watch as a child.
The room at the end of the stairs was dark only a small light, lighting the area and one small spec of luminescence in one of the tanks. The fish all looked out worldly often possessing sharp teeth, large fins and big eyes. You were automatically drawn to the tank with light. "The Anglerfish..." You read out loud. The tank was empty, filled with only a seabed of sand and the Anglerfish itself. It terrified you, no wonder it was nicked named the deepsea killer.
When you turned around you saw Johann on the other side of the room. "Is this what you where looking for?" He pointed to a tank with a squishy sillowet, rushing to the other side you saw the animal you wanted to see since forever. The squid looked like something out of the movie Aliens, with it's long tentacles and teeth. The look on your face was masemerising. Johann's golden eyes never leaving you. "Hey, earth to senpai! Why don't we go look at other stuff too. I heard there's a tunnel ahead!"
"Ok, we'll go."
You were sprinting down the hall, you were so, so excited! Johann, too, was hot on your heels, accidentally catching your hand. He just wanted to catch you by the wrist to slow you down! He didn't let go, Luminous told him to be smooth- what ever that means! "Was I going too fast? I'm sorry if I was..." There is a long moment of silence before Johann's voice filed the room. "No, it's ok." His hand was still in yours, holding your hand tighter. "Let's go, you seem excited to see it." Leading you by the hand into the blue tunnel.
"Senpai, look!" You pointed at a large manta ray that swom above your heads. "It looks just like you! It's so beautiful...". The creature with a four meter long wingspan did look majestic. When you felt the odd coldness in your palm you looked down, surprised that Johann was still holding your hand "Senpai, why are you still holding my hand?" His body became rigid, he's feeling an electric like shock down his spine. Be smooth, be smooth! - It would be nice if looked up the definition of what that meant, when he had the time. "Your hands felt cold so I could warm them up." You knew that was not what he meant, his hands were always freezing cold.
At the end was a big glass window to the outside pool, that was ment to represent an ekosistem. There were turtles, large fish, dolphins and whales, there were also benches in front of the glass. Your feet were aching not particularly from the walk it self, but from the burden of the whole day. You decided to sit for a while, to admire the beautiful clean water and life within it.
Johann sat beside you not knowing what to do. Your deep thoughts and the though of school where overwhelming to you.
"Hey."
The word caught you off guard, looking up you saw a girl - about your age.
"You guys are just friends, right?" Johann spoke up first. "Actuall-" you finished his sentence with a hard yes. "Sooo... it wouldn't hurt if I asked him for his number?" "No, go ahead." You knew she was just trying to be nice, but the slight feeling of her trying to be coy sickened you.
You continued to look into the water, noticing a turtle swim right to you. The light of a flash got you out of your day deram. "How does it look?" Johann asked when giving you his phone with a picture of an almost indistinct green blob. "It looks good, senpai." You try to comfort your friend and his poor photography skills.
"Where did the girl go?" You questioned him. "Oh, she went away when I told her I don't give my number to strangers." The silent seconds seemed like hours, you just wanted to go back to your dorm to be honest. "You seem down, did you not enjoy the date?" Your mind stopped working at the word date. This was a date? This was Johann taking you on a date? You felt stupid. "I ehmm... Didn't know it was one. I didn't even know you liked me."
Johann cleared his throat and sat closer to you, he saw this in romance films, now it's the time to confess his undying love to you. "A lot of people say, that I don't know if someone likes me. They say that I'm oblivious to romantic gestures, and I still don't know what giving hints means, but all that I know is that I caught romantic feelings for you... So, do you feel the same?"
"Senpai, I'm flattered, but I don't think I'm ready. There's been a lot happening recently and I've been trying to ignore things like this."
This is not how it was supposed go! You are suppose to leap into his arms and tell him you love him too!
He intertwined his fingers with yours. "(Y/N), please I need you..."
The desperation was clear in his eyes, tightening his hold on your hand. You just wanted to disappear. You uncomfortably answered. "Sure, I'll see where this will go."
🛑⚠️Dragon Raja Spoilers/Trigger Warnings⚠️🛑
(So the events I will be talking about is a gold side quest, and an event happening when you hit level 85. (All from a male perspective as my MC is male)
✋Side Quest BTW is called 'The Innocents' if you don't want to face any Triggering material✋
Tumblr media
(Just using a photo of my character to make it long. Some notes on this
° I have only played the store to level 86.
°Again some spoilers and Trigger Warning for a Gold side quest
°Also the level 85 spoiler was the only time I felt a different emotion then confusion (which isn't surprising tbh) and made me want to make this post. I may add more to it as I progress in the game.)
Can we talk about how mentally damaged the MC is? Like from the beginning your orphanage/everyone you know is perceived dead. Even before that you see someone who you can perceive is your father figure (Herzog) torture Anton. And like yeah he was a dick, but he didn't deserve the torture. Then you wake up in Cassell 20 years later. (Like wtf?) Not to mention when you hit level 85 you see Herzog (Ghost? Projection?) and learn the truth of why Black Swan Bay was destroyed and their intent of forcing the orphans to be dragons when they become strong enough. AND NO ONE FUCKING TALKED ABOUT IT AFTER?!?!!?? LIKE CHISEI GEN KNOWS WHAT HAPPENED AND YEAH I FEEL BAD THAT YOUR DAD DIED BUT MINE WAS GONNA MAKE ME BECOME A DRAGON AND POTENTIALLY KILLED MY CHILDHOOD FRIENDS/SIBLINGS. BUT HOW COME I HAVE TO COMFORT LUMINOUS WHEN HE AND ERII CANT BE TOGETHER OR HIS CONFUSING FEELINGS FOR NONO. WHAT ABOUT ME??? I'VE GOT NO FAMILY AND Y'ALL ARE MY NEW FAMILY! IM GOING THROUGH SOME REAL SHIT AND YOU AIN'T NO HOMIE HERE. LIKE WHAT THE FUCKING HELL AM I TO Y'ALL?? NOTHING?????? I KNOW Y'ALL DON'T KNOW ME FOR THAT LONG BUT HAVE SOME HUMAN DECENCY! SERIOUSLY I HAD TO MAKE MY CHARACTER STAND IN THE CORNER AND HAVE A CRY. LIKE I FELT GENUINE SADNESS THAT NO ONE CHECKED TO SEE IF MY CHARACTER WAS OK.
Oh and I completely forgot how your boss from the host club wanted you to kill Erii during the Love Tokyo Love Story. How can you just casually ask someone that? Or just in general force me to make Erii and Luminous fall in love? Like wtf??
Double OH! When you finish the under water scene and think everyone died but nah while I was searching for all y'all's asses you guys were just being hosts while I probably went through some relapse from the events ESPECIALLY SINCE IT ALL HAPPENED RIGHT AFTER I WAKE UP FROM A 20 YEAR FUCKING COMA! HELL EVEN THE FAKE DRAGON ATTACK MUST HAVE BEEN TERRIBLE FOR THE MC
⚠️Side Quest W/ Trigger Warning!!⚠️
Then the side quest holy fucking shit! So the side quest is called 'The Innocents' you see a girl get abused and have to solve an attempted murder. And in the end you see the cop kill the boyfriend and himself. AND ALL THE FUCKING COLLEGE AI SAYS IS THAT THE INCIDENT WILL BE PUT INTO THE DATA FILES. NO CHECKING THE MC IF THEY ARE OK. AND SHE MUST HAVE SOME PROGRAMMING TO CHECK STUDENTS HEALTH. SERIOUSLY AM I SUPPOSE TO BE AN EMOTIONLESS SACK OF MEAT?
⚠️ End of trigger Warning ⚠️
Don't get me wrong this game is very interesting, beautiful, and I will admit I'm intrigued to see how this will play out. But my God the MC must be going through some shit and the support system in the NPC's is shit. Like where is my comfort???
Sorry for the long ass rant (that may become longer in the future. Gotta see how this all plays out.) But I just really needed this off my chest. May even talk about more of the side quests that I see mental issues with. We will have to see.
𖥦 ˖⁩ ࣪ ִֶָ what happens if a gunslinger met another gunslinger who’s gun is more highly advanced.
★ ( ˶ˆ꒳ˆ˵ ) › prompto x gn!reader — fluff , dragon raja au
not my best one but i’ve been busy so i won’t be able to write long ones for now, don’t worry i’m not leaving and there will be a pt. 2
tw:: guns
Tumblr media
“woah… who’s that?” i asked admiring the person who was beside cindy, “hm? i heard they name is y/n, i did some research on them before, they from a place that got destroyed a few years ago called black swan bay.” ignis answered as i continued to stare at them.
i looked away as they turned around almost catching my stares, they smiled before turning back to talking to cindy, “ah! there they are!” cindy exclaimed dragging the h/c person over, “this is y/n! they’ve been here for awhile but had to leave because of a mission!” cindy explained.
“hi…” they waved with a nervous smile, “greetings, i’m ignis, this is noctis, gladio, and prompto.” ignis introduced as they smiled, “prompto’s are photographer.” i tensed up when ignis bought that up. “hm? really! may i see them?” they asked walking up to me, “u-uh, sure- their in the car, i’ll go get them.” i stuttered, i saw in the corner of my eyes noct smirking.
i playfully glared at him making him roll his eyes before chuckling, i gave the camera to them, “here.” they smiled, clicking through the pictures as we leaned against regalia. “these are nice, prompto, thank you.” they handed the camera back, “n-no problem.” stop stuttering, prompto.
“hm?” i noticed a thing floating beside their head before they pushed it away, “sorry, i have to go, gotta head back to cassel college.” cindy crossed her arms, “caeser? isn’t it?” “yeah, he won’t stop bickering.” y/n rubbed their hair, the floating thing beside them forming into a motorcycle. they turned to us, “you guys wanna come or?” they asked as i nodded my head with excitement.
they smiled hopping onto their motorcycle, “then get into your car.” we did what they said before waving goodbye to cindy as ignis followed y/n, “do you guys wanna take a short cut?!” they yelled as i saw a smirk appear on their face, “sure?” noctis yelled back making y/n nod before a portal appeared in front of us as we saw the place called cassel collage.
Tumblr media
“welcome to cassel collage!” they introduced, a lot of people waving at y/n. “you guys can wander but not to far, i gotta go talk to somebody-“ they got cut off when a siren went off, “what? why now!” they cussed underneath their breath before two gun appeared in their hand.
“sorry but i gotta take care of something! you guys go help people evacuate!” “we can help!” prompto refused as noctis nodded, y/n hesitated before nodding, “only two of you! two of you guys go help the civilians evacuate!” ignis and gladio nodded before running off, “you guys ready?” they asked before a snarl— no, multiple snarls was heard infont of them.
Tumblr media
“that was… awesome!” prompto exclaimed as the civilians cheered, y/n was panting, wiping off the blood they puked, “i like how your cheerful from the experience.” they pointed out before passing out, “y/n! ah! i told you not overwork yourself.” a red head came in, catching the fainting person.
“hehe, sorry.” they coughed up more blood before relaxing a bit, noctis was chatting with ignis before they saw the h/c person faint, “what happened?” the red head shook her head, “they have a condition where they cough up blood if they overwork themselves.” she explained, carrying the said person up, “i’m NoNo.” they said before leaving.
prompto still concerned, he wandered to the trio, “can they come with us on are roadtrip? please..” prompto begged as noctis scratched their head, “uh, i guess. they seem trustworthy.” noctis agreed leaving gladio wide mouthed at how easily noctis could agree. prompto cheered.
“you’re joking, right?” noctis shook his head before shrugging, “i’m not.” gladio facepalmed at his friend idiotic actions, guess the last thing to do is to get an answer from y/n who was currently going through hell.
Hey there, I rarely check on Tumblr nowadays due to work and stuff but I've played Dragon Raja for a while now so if it's not too troubling, I would like to request a fic of MC giving Osho and the others a well deserved verbal smack down during the final showdown (the MC didn't blame the Gen siblings for what happened to them and managed to save Erii from Osho). Bonus if MC cut ties from everyone after the mission... Sorry, I'm a huge fan of angst.
Tags for this chapter: angst, violence, all bitter no sweet, respawn system gets abused for angst Tw: cannon typical violence, graphic-ish descriptions of death, blood, suicidal thoughts and almost actions, wounds and the like
You’re clutching yourself as you shake knees getting weaker by the second, hiccuping and heaving the flood of tears that decorates both your face and the street under you with the weight of your emotions are the only constant for you. You’re drowning in your own emotions, phantom pains of all of your recent deaths and revivals clawing at you demanding your attention, demanding your time. You’re hugging yourself trying to mimic the comforting action that you remember from your childhood. “Why isn’t it working.” You choke out sobbing harder as you grip your arms. It’s too tight yet not tight enough, your limbs responding to your pleas is a sign that you’re still alive yes, but, but this is, this isn’t what you want.... this isn’t what you want at all. Your nails are far sharper than you remember them they tore through the flesh of your arms lightly. You could feel Herzog’s claws ripping through your flesh as well, everything hurt, you want to go home, you want to go home, you want to go home.....
But you can’t. Everyone was dead, at one point Caesar had said that Black Swan Bay had sunken, so the actual land was probably gone too, nothing left to remember that place but you Zero and Z. God you wanted to see them right now, the area on your head that he had patted earlier seemed warm giving you a small amount of comfort but also dealing even more damage to your psyche. You wanted to go back to those warm days in your childhood when none of this was known to you. When you weren't running around matchmaking and doing everyone else's work while also getting nothing in return, not a thanks, not even a small indirect amount of appreciation or encouragement. Your legs buckled under you your arms reching out as if to grab onto something to stop you from falling. Your knees met with the ground violently scraping at the skin there. You can't breathe, you can't breathe, youcantbreatheyoucantbreatheyoucantbreatheyoucantbreathe, it hurts, it hurts, it hurts, it hurts, ithurtsithurtsithurtsithurtsithurts, why is he doing this to you didn't he love you? That man, Herzog, had raised you. You had spent so much time at that orphanage, you were so happy. So why.  whywhywhywhywhyhwhywhy. You recalled warm winter nights spent in front of the fireplace curled up with Zero on one side and Z on the other.
You remembered one day specifically. Back then you lot were young, so, so, so, young. You chuckled choking on your tears, that day Z and you had spent a solid hour arguing over who would run over to get Zero, that day it had started raining, then the rain had turned to hail mid hide and seek game. Z had found you moments before the storm started. You two ended up huddled under the ice bridge. The orphanage in sight but seeming miles away due to the storm. Zero had been caught first and had gone back to the courtyard as per the rules so she was probably fine. You needed one of you to go and get her so that she could bring back an umbrella for the other. Then you had heard it, the sound of thunder wolves nearby. Then Z, with no hesitation had, scooped you up put your head under one of the flaps or his jacket and ran back to the cottages. All while you could hear the heavy ‘thunk thunk thunk’ of wolf paws behind you. Looking back on it now those wolves were probably the result of Herzog’s experiments and not a naturally occurring species. The souring of your childhood memory made bile rise in your throat, the thought of looking at your early life through that lens rather than just christmas day made you want to scream. Z and Zero were so different from your seniors. If you had been with any of them back then you knew for a fact that they would’ve sent you to deal with the wolves, only coming in when you were a hairs breath away from dying.
But that hadn’t save you before, you can’t count how many times you’ve died sense meeting them. From your flesh being torn from your bones by death servitors to bleeding out in some nameless alleyway after being shot by hydra’s soldiers. You had also drowned at one point, that death had been the worst. You remembered clawing at the water begging for the chance to live once again, you remembered feeling your legs tear off after the submarine had exploded, you remembered reaching your mangled arms out, out, out towards the light that came from the surface of the water. You remember feeling the water force itself down your throat and into your lungs, it burns, it hurts, it burns, it hurts. You had been seeing flashes of reality as well as the last time you ended up in cold waters like those. It didn’t matter because in the end you had died. It never matters how hard you try, how many times you die, because you always end up failing.
You lay on the sidewalk screaming, there was no one nearby nor anything that you could hear other than the pounding of rain on the sidewalk and your own sobbing. Your hand burned with the new blood that flowed inside you. Your mind burned with the scars of the past that it never got to address, your heart burned with the open wounds this mission had left you with. You wanted to die right here, sink away into nothingness. Stay in the room with the grand piano and flowing waters. No one could bother you there, no one could make you do meaningless tasks without your say, there was no matchmaking, no pointless errands, no suicide missions, there was nobody but yourself there, just you, just you. Luminous wouldn’t be there to make you do his work, he wouldn’t be there swearing to be by your side to help you while simultaneously doing nothing at best and dragging you down at worst. There wouldn’t be a Caesar there to send you on every reconnaissance mission with no backup and no direction. Johann wouldn’t be there to demand information on your past like he had even earned the right to know it, like he didn’t need to earn that right because it should just be given to him. Just you in a place where no one could hurt you.
You looked up from the ground that you had been staring at, bringing your hands up to your neck you squeezed. It wouldn’t work in terms of killing you, you knew that, but it worked as an easy substitute, feeling the pressure of your own hands on your neck, the shortness if not complete lack of breath, the light headed feeling, it served as a less drastic solution for now.
“It’s great to see you all safe and sound!” Eva’s voice cut through the momentary peace that you had found, your hands reflexively letting go of your neck.
“Safe and sound?!” You repeated in disbelief, “What part of any of me seems to be safe and sound?” It felt like she was mocking you. The memories of Herzog’s claws slicing through your spine, through every part of you, flashed then the words ‘It’s great to see you all safe and sound!’ Played over them, those words were the last thing you wanted to hear right now. Why,why,why,why,why is your pain always ignored like this? Why is it always your job to make everything right? You can’t do this anymore! You won’t do this anymore.
Bringing your fist up you smashed at your communicator, “Cassell- will...turn th-this into- into no-nothing more th-th-th-then a dream for every- every- everyone” Eva’s voice though distorted still managed to snake its way out of the thing despite all the damage you had done to it.
"AGH, SHUT UP!" You yell slamming your fist down harder and harder, each time screaming, begging for her to "JUST SHUT UP" You're crying even harder now. The glass that made up the outer layer of the screen. The rest of her words came out broken and jumbled, and even if they hadn't been due to the damage your screaming and shouting would've drowned it out anyways. "STOP. TALKING. JUST. SHUT. UP."
"Caesar helping you to-to-to destroy- criminal underworld.... true story- believe." Your fist paused midair at those words. Caesar had helped to destroy the criminal underworld? That was the story that they were going with? Not even the whole team, just Caesar what kind of absolute bullshit was that. You had done 100 times more then the supposed hero of the story, hell Luminous had done more, fucking Erii had done more. So where did they get off on this- this- you didn't even have a word for it it was so stupid, so stupidly infuriating. Herzog had said that the people from Cassell had experimented on you, and while he wasn't one to be trusted you sure do feel so fucking dumb for defending them. At least Herzog had the common decency to put up an air of kindness. These people just treated you like a convenient tool, something to be used and dealt with as they pleased. Something that didn't need thanks or praise or a break because it was an object meant to be used and thrown away as they saw fit. "Re-re-re-return to takamagahara to say-say-say-say-saysay goodbye-bye-bye to-" Your fist swung down with overwhelming strength shattering the communicator completely. Broken pieces of metal and glass embedded themselves in your hand bringing a fiery pain that slowly destroyed all of you in its wake. You fell even further onto the concrete clutching your hands one in the other relishing a bit sickly in the pain that it brought. Your right palm glowed with the same light it first had when you had accepted Erii's blood. Then it started rejecting the pieces of metal and glass in both of your hands. Slowly pushing them out and healing the cuts instantly once they were out.
Chuckling you flipped over your hands looking at both perfectly healed sides. It was like you had never been hurt in the first place. You marvled at them, twisting them over and over again, bringing them to your neck once again you smiled and closed your eyes. You had no idea what you were. Had you always been like this? An undying freak with special powers? Had Herzog's experiments done this to you? It was obvious that your new healing ability came from Erii's and the light king's combined blood but what about everything else? Had you been born this way? Was it Herzog's half baked evolution pills? Had Cassell truly experimented on you? Z said you had the capability to become a dragon lord now, but what did that mean? What did that make you? Your chuckles turned into full of peels of laughter, your cheeks stinging at the feeling of both the semi dried tear tracks being pulled at as well as the force of your laughter. The peels of laughter soon mixed with pained sobs and you were once again back to crying. You weren't going to put up with this anymore. Dropping your hands you slowly stood up like a puppet on strings. Walking at a slow pace one second in between each step you started walking.
----------------
Anjou is in one of the VIP rooms with a man dressed like a pastor. You don't care what they're talking about, stepping in front of the pastor you look over at him. He takes steps back on his own, unprompted, it's a first but then again you suppose that you probably look like the walking dead, and in a way you were, not to mention that you also felt like it. A lukewarm apathetic haze settled over your emotions as you looked down at Anjou. He's the second person you met after waking up, he's the whole reason you, a freshman at his wacky school that you hadn't even been asked if you wanted to join, were on this mission. How stupid is he? He had sent you, a person who had what he described as 'little control' over your extra skill and who had just woken up after a freeze bath in Siberia on this mission, an SS ranked one that he was hesitant to even send his best students on already. So why had he chosen you? Why did you have to die over and over for a cause you didn't understand and people you don't know. "Freshman." he nodded as though prompting you to speak. He never broke eye contact or even showed any emotions other than a laid back and relaxed expression. It pisses you off. Why is this old dingbat relaxing, kicking back and enjoying his time while your'e such a mess? He gestures for the priest to leave and he does. Leaning forward elbows on his knees he looks you up and down before going back to making eye contact. "What has you so worked up?"
You want to cry, its the closest you've gotten to an 'are you ok' sense waking up but at the same time you wanted no part of a wellness check led by the man in front of you. "Herzog said that Cassell College experimented on me. Is that true?" You can almost make out a hint of surprise in his eyes before he starts laughing. You bight your lips pulling them into your mouth in a desperate attempt to hold back your anger wanting to get your answer first before you rip him a new one.
"Goodness no, why would you ever believe anything that old snake had to say, and here I thought you were a once in a decade genius. I suppose that title still belongs to Johann then." You ball your hands into fists. Its more than obvious that he's making light of the situation. Didn't he know that you had been raised in Black Swan Bay? Didn't he know that Herzog, a man who you had trusted, had experimented on you? Is he incapable of connecting the dots between your trauma and your current situation combined with Herzog's words? No he did know, he knew and he still chose to make light of everything you had gone through. Insinuating if not blatantly saying that you were an idiot for believing that what happened to you once could happen again. Slamming your hand down on the table you levied on him the worst glare you could, the burning behind your eyes letting you know that you probably looked less menacing then you wanted to.
"Where the fuck do you get off saying something like that to me." It's phrased as a question but its really not. It's a challenge for Anjou to defend his words, one he unfortunately takes you up on.
"I understand that this whole mission and especially today has been taxing on your team but that doesn't mean you should and can snap at everyone like that freshman. Take sometime to cool off, go outside and talk to your seniors, hopefully they'll be able to reach you in ways I cannot." He's getting up to leave after his mini lecture, essentially passing you off to be someone else's problem but you wont let him leave that easily. Your hand grabs onto his forearm stopping him in his tracks. For a millisecond you consider punching him. Beating him over the head with one of the glasses on the table, but the part of your brain that still, despite everything, says that you ca't do that to him because he had pulled you out of Siberia's ice who knows how long ago says not to. And it wins.
"I'm not going to apologize for my language-" He cuts you off with a tut of his tongue, now you have no regrets for the words you planned on saying next. Letting go of his arm you continued. "I'm entitled to be angry when an asshole says asshole things. And I'm allowed to curse said asshole out however much I want." You step in front of the exit crossing your arms, you catch a momentary glimpse of your face in one of the metal outlinings of the wall as you do. You truly do look dead, eyes lifeless and lightless, face twisted into a painfully weak version of the you that you wanted to portray. You know that in this position you run the risk of your conversation leaking out of the room but honestly you don't care, like at all. At this point you want to just scream and cry your emotions out. But you can't because you don't want to, you don't want to be any weaker in front of anyone than you already are.
"Freshman-"
"I was raised by Dr. Herzog for so so many years and the whole time he was experimenting on me and everyone I knew. And-and-and you expect me to just trust you when you say that you didn't do anything. You expect me to rule that out as a possibility when you've given me no reason to, not in terms of character or proof. So why would you say that me believing that random strangers who I've known for less then a month and who I, if I'm being honest don't trust, experimenting on me is a dumb fear?" You clutch at your heart bunching up the cloth that protects it. "I just- do you see why thats dumb? Do you see why it makes no sense to me? One day I'm celebrating christmas as normal with my friends the next minute I'm smacked in the face with the fact that the man that I considered a father," you gag a bit on the word, "has been experimenting on me and everyone that I love, that he's been killing all of us as soon as we turn 18 because we wont survive to 22 because of his experiments? Finding out that he thought of us, children he had been raising for years as nothing more then science experiments who had outlived their uses. Do you have any idea how much that fucking hurt? I had to watch everyone die around me while I wasn't able to do anything! Zero even sacrificed her life to save me and I still ended up dying so many times anyways." You're clutching at yourself again, seeking comfort in the only arms that you can trust right now, your own. You're glaring down at the floor trying to blink the tears away. It doesn't work. You're basically two steps away from dry heaving and sobbing. Anjou reaches out his hand, most likely to guide you to sit down but you slap it away. "Don't fucking touch me. You sent me, a freshman who hadn't really even enrolled in your school or been given the choice to do so on a suicide mission with other students and no adult supervision from the college itself. I've died so many times sense waking up. It always hurts, it's never been painless, I've never been thanked and yet you expect me to just what- put my blind trust into you? I spent more time around Chime then I did you and he spent half of the time as Ruri Kazama."
'"Freshman you're hyperventilating you need to calm down."
"I WONT CALM DOWN" You're yelling now, its not the same kind of painful shouting that you had done earlier on the street, this is loud as well yes, but its from a frustrated sadness rather than a devastated anger. "Why did it have to be me? Weren't there other students you could've sent? Adults? Why did it have to be me? You had no reason to trust that I wouldn't kill the others. I had justwoken up and you decided that I was your best choice? You didn't tell me anything you just threw terms out and expected me to understand. You didn't even give me time alone to breathe let alone ask questions." Your chest is tight, you can feel each of your deaths, piercing pain of claws slicing through flesh, the burning heat of bullets, the singeing of fire, being torn to pieces. You can feel it all and it all hurts so much. You want it to stop, you need it to stop. You don't want to hear these people talk like they're your friends like they care anymore. It's all too much, you're almost sobbing now, curling in on yourself to try and mitigate any pain that may come.
"Newbie whats-"
You turn eyes catching onto Caesar, Johann, Luminous and Finger standing behind you. When did they get here, how much did they hear. It burns and it burns devouring everything in sight. All the memories that you have with them that you've been trying to view in a happy light, all of them crumble to the ground in front of you the moment you see them. "SHUT UP, USE MY NAME FOR ONCE WILL YOU?! NEWBIE DO THIS, FRESHMAN DO THAT, YOU HAVE NEVER EVEN ONCE USED MY NAME!" Full on sobbing you bulldoze through every thought that comes to mind yelling them out at the people surrounding you. "YOU'VE NEVER ONCE ASKED ME IF I WAS OK. YOU;VE NEVER ONCE SENT ANYONE WITH ME WHEN YOU SEND ME ON THOSE STUPID SUICIDE MISSIONS. I'M A FRESHMAN A NEWBIE YOU HAD NO REASON TO TRUST ME WITH ANY OF THIS. WHAT WOU;LD'VE HAPPENED IF I HAD DIED AND STAYED DEAD? WHAT WOULD'VE HAPPENED IF I HAD BEEN CAPTURED? WHAT THEN?" You clutch onto yourself harder, seeking even the smallest bit of comfort from the feeling. Your voice has lowered in volume, you no longer have the emotional or physical strength to do anything other than keep your voice above a whisper. "Do you lot remember when Ruri had specifically said that even two of us couldn't handle Herzog alone? And yet you still thought that it would be a good idea to send me up alone, acting like you were tough for taking care of the death servitors at the entrance." You sigh, there are so many other examples you could go through but you also don't want to be here any longer. "What about you Luminous? I get that you had to watch Erii, but making me do everything and anything you could think of by myself while knowing that Johann and Caesar were constantly sending me on missions as well? You even complained that I took too long to do things. Maybe if you did something for yourself for once instead of just saying that you will then running away and hiding like a coward these things wouldn't happen. Maybe then Erii, Chisei and Chime would still be alive and I wouldn't have to deal with- with this fucking guilt!"
"Look I'm sorry about the Erii thing but listen, we had no idea you were feeling like this. You should've come to us-" Finger is trying to mediate, trying to comfort you, but it only makes things worse.
"And how could I have," You croak out, "How could I have trusted that you would listen, that I would get a break? You never even presented the option for me to have any kind of choice in how I carried out my missions let alone not do them at all. I had nothing I still have nothing. I'm presumed dead at best and no longer exist at worst in terms of my original legal documents. And even if I had access to them I'm still 20 years younger then I'm supposed to be." With a watery chuckle you continue, "Even if I did tell you if I was thrown away I wouldn't have any papers to do anything, to get a job, to live a life, I'm completely reliant on the college for everything. Not to mention the fact that I know nothing about the world. If Cassell had deemed me" You shudder at the word "a failure, then I would've had nothing, not information on the world at current, not even an identity." You shake your head walking in between them and towards the exit. "I don't care I'm not doing this anymore. Find some other freshman to be you dog."
You walked out and onto the streets of Tokyo. You glanced back once lamenting the fact that you hadn't gotten to say goodbye to Zero. You turned away glancing in the direction of the convenience store that Luminous would always make you go to to buy Erii's milk. You trudged down the streets of Tokyo back to that place. Hopefully you can buy paper and a pen to leave her a note with what little money you have.
The bell on the store door jingled when you opened it. The man was standing behind the counter as he always was. You're experience with father figures have been lack luster this far but you've always thought that this man gave off the air of one. It made you relax, seeing someone that while familiar wasn't from the orphanage or Cassell. He looked up at you wearing that same smile that he always did. You knew it wasn't for you specifically but rather something that he probably gave all of his costumers but still it made you feel a bit warm inside.
"Hey kiddo you look a bit rough, everything ok?" You take a few steps forward and nod a bit
"I think it will be now. Or at least I hope so." He hums and nods his head at your answer deciding not to pry, a decision you appreciate.
"So then you here for the usual?" You look back at him and glance around the store, you don't see paper or pens of any sort. It's a bit of a let down but you suppose asking wouldn't hurt.
"Ah no actually," Your voice is still raw, and a bit choked up from all the crying and yelling that you did earlier, you hope you don't sound weird." "Do you sell like, um... paper and pens or something like that? I want to write a note to a friend before I leave."
He scratches at his chin mumbling under his breath as he thinks for a few seconds before getting up and going around the store coming back with a bottle of warm milk in hand. He then returns to his spot behind the counter pulling a note pad and pen out from under it. He places the milk next to the writing utensils and pushes them towards you. "Here, milks on the house, I don't sell paper or anything but feel free to use that and leave the note with me. I'll give it to your friend."
You give him a small smile. It's all that you can manage right now. Your eyes burn with tears again. "Thanks, my friends name is Zero she's blonde has blue eyes and is about," you place your hand were Zero's head is about as accurately as you can, "This tall. She has a flat affect and seems kinda emotionless but she really is a sweet girl. Um, her hairs long and she has a big black bow tying it back." The man nods his head repeating your description back to you. After gaining conformation he sticks his thumb up and takes the letter from you promising to hand it to her the moment she walks through the doors of his shop. You thank him one last time and promise to come back there if you're ever in trouble before leaving.
As you walk through Tokyo's streets aimlessly, you repeat the words in your letter, speaking them into the rain. "I hope that we can meet again in a more peaceful time, preferably away from the bay and Cassell as I don't have the best impression of them. With lots of love, your best friend..." You laugh a bit, your words were supposed to be a parody of what Z said to you. You think its fitting for a farewell letter.
You meld into the raindrops after looking back one last time.
An OC Follow~Up
Momo Cordis
Here, you will be able to see Momo’s Backstory. Note that this is the Twisted Wonderland Variant and that her Dragon Raja Backstory is a work in progress. For her profile, report here.
tw// implied bullying, isolation, brief miscarriage mentions, implied molestation, mentions of cancer diagnosis, filial death, just in case…
Tumblr media
Momo Cordis was born on February fifteenth in a small area of the Rose Kingdom to a family of three, Cadence and Aryn, being her mother and father, and Faun, her older sister. She received draconic traits when she was born, along with her older sister, her horns and her tail being symbols of their hybrid blood. Their father, Aryn, a dragon hybrid, took the responsibility of ensuring that Momo and Faun knew how to handle their draconic parts, and Cadence took it upon themself to ensure that they knew how to handle their succubus like traits.
Momo grew to love art as a young child, and her older sister would often see her drawing pictures of flowers. She had an innate gift for flower tending— at the age of six, Momo planted her first rose with the help of her mother. She had tended that rose ever since, and protected it from storms and harsh winter weather. In elementary school, she would have a picture that she took with a camera of that rose on a chain that would be attached to her backpack. Her love for flowers was something that was unique to her. However, with every good person, there are also downs.
Because of her draconic and succubus like traits, children at her school, and even in her community, feared and sometimes bullied her. The other children thought her features were strange, and so they left her out of things. Momo never really had a solid group of friends when she was young; she never sat with anyone at lunch, during recess, she just sat at the school benches and drew trees by herself, she would work alone during group activities, it was all a little way to avoid the startling eyes of frightened children. She was never aggressive during the times people bullied her. When she would be struck, pushed, called out, laughed at, etcetera, she would sit and take it, not shedding a single tear until she was completely alone. She never understood why she couldn’t be accepted into social groups like other children. She never resented her features, but she did question them from time to time.
Luckily for her however, she was mainly bullied by girls. Girls can be catty sometimes. Boys mainly feared her and would act graciously around her. Not only were they fearful of her features and the possibilities of what she could do, but they were nervous because she possessed her mother’s immense physical beauty, even as a child. There were many times where she would be asked out by the boys in her class. She wasn’t ever interested in that though— she had other things to tend to.
Like in middle school. Her mother became ill. She alerted Faun of this and they both, along with their father, monitored their mother closely. After a few hospital visits did the dreaded news come to them. Cadence had ovarian cancer, gone too deep for recovery. The news shocked Momo from the inside out, like a lightening bolt electrocuting someone, frying them to death. It was common in her family, she knew that ovarian problems and miscarriages were common, but not cancer. Cadence was the main head of the house— she was the one to get things done first hand. Without her, everything in the house was hands on. At the ripe age of thirteen, Momo helped her father in an office job, acting as an intern to his secretary at a biology laboratory. She actually liked working there, as she got to study all kinds of plant life. While she was there, she was also taken into the arms of many of his father’s co-workers, who taught her things her mother couldn’t. For example, how to cook and clean, how to sew, how to work a washer and dryer, all those things. To build more ground with her sister, she took part in violin lessons with her. She loved the music that the violin made, and she always loved to hear her sister practice in her room. It was a good stress reliever as well, she discovered.
When she was fourteen, she discovered her unique magic in action for the very first time. She was tending to some of the plants at the lab, watering them and marking their areas of growth. They were doing a study on something or another. Her abilities came into play when she made a tulip slowly grow from a nursery flower to an adult in less than a minute. She was astounded at this, so astounded that she kept checking in on that particular flower each day to label other growths. It never wilted after it grew, and it always remained fresh and lively. When she smelled the tulip, taking in its floral and sweet fragrance, she gained another ability the day after. The ability to hypnotize people. One day, before going on break, she blew a kiss to her father, which after that, he started to act weirdly, and he started to follow her around. He did anything that she asked him to do, without question, on command, for approximately an hour. She apologized to her father, thinking she hurt him, however, she didn’t. He told her that it was fine, she just needs to be more careful. Her abilities were coming into fruition, and she needs to monitor them for any changes.
As she grew older, she took on several jobs, one after another, to help earn money for the family, and to help her mother. Faun slowly slacked from her position to focus on other academic things, meanwhile, Momo worked her ass off to bring happiness to the household, to the point of sleep loss and immense fatigue. It was a wonder how her mother stayed alive for this long. The medicines really seemed to lessen the symptoms of her pain and loss of fertility. Eventually however, her mother did have that time where she would have to pass. Momo and Faun said goodbye to their mother just a week after Momo turned sixteen. This led Momo into a deep cycle of depression. Her mother was very close to her. She gave her mother the necklace that she had given her on her fourth birthday back to her at the funeral as she lay in her casket, as well as two woven flower crowns and a bouquet of her favorite flowers.
Regardless, Momo is a strong and persevering woman. She tried her best to keep working, despite not being in the correct headspace. This also damaged her father, Aryn. Cadence was his first love, his high school sweetheart— the only woman to come around him, to not fear him for his draconic traits. Her death threw him into a loophole of nightmares and depressive thoughts. He truly never got over the death of his wife. And so he took it out on not normal things, but his children. It doesn’t help that Momo looks almost exactly like Cadence. He neglected Faun when Momo was around, and even when she wasn’t, he wouldn’t necessarily pay attention to his eldest daughter, which made her jealous of Momo.
One night, Faun left for a friend’s house. She was trying to seek attention from other sources. Momo, being alone with her father, was enough for him to crack. As Momo finished studying for an exam, her father entered her room. They had a small conversation as they sat next to each other on her bed. He eventually started getting more touchy with his youngest daughter, putting his arm around her shoulder, then her torso, than her waist, often touching her thighs and trying to get his fingers under her shorts. When Momo caught onto her father’s lewd behavior, she moved away from him and told him firmly to stop. The look in her father’s eyes made her regret her decision, her choice of voice mainly. He ended up forcing himself on her, being stronger than her, she couldn’t push him off. She kicked and screamed, thrashed and writhed to try and get out from under her father, having almost no courage to push him. However, when she felt something poke at the inside of her thigh, she pushed him off finally, using as much force as she could, and bolted out of her bedroom.
Having nowhere to go, she eventually ran into a pay phone to call Faun since she had left her phone at her house. She told Faun about the incident, which she seemed to care, but the jealousy was still there, despite the reasoning for said feelings being sick.
When she finished her high school years, a specific college got her attention— Royal Sword Academy. Faun’s interest was in Night Raven College, an academy that rivaled RSA. When they took their exams for entry however, something happened. They’re was some kind of mixup with the tests, and Momo ended up being accepted into Night Raven College, Faun was accepted into Royal Sword Academy. Things were about to get a little interesting.
Even though Momo was not allowed to partake in classes per se, being that NRC was an all boys institution, she could shadow other students in classes. Eventually, she was accepted as a student because of the awkwardness that came with being a shadow. She got acquainted with Grim, a Grey cat that seemed to sass her about the Ramshackle Dorm, which she worked mercilessly to straighten and clean the dorm, trying to transform its messy atmosphere. However, due to a housing issue, she was reassigned into Heartslabyul when they examined her unique magic being used.
She seemed to get along with most of the students at the dorm, some bullying her at the mercy of the Seven. She managed to get alone with Riddle and Trey, Cater developed a small (teensy weensy) crush on her. (Cute!) His liveliness on Magicam wasn’t for her though, as she could barely keep up with him in general.
While walking around the campus, examining the foliage that it had to offer, she thought she saw a pair of horns that looked similar to hers. Were there other dragons here? Other people like her? She wanted to investigate. She found Malleus Draconia, Head of the Diasomnia Dorm, upon pure coincidence. They both happened to be walking the same route. As introverted as they both were, they both offered to go separate ways. And that they did.
Until Malleus ran back into her a week later, and became infatuated with her because she wasn’t scared of him. She saw that he wasn’t intimidated by her either, which that must have been the feeling that her mother felt back in high school— curiosity for someone so different. She felt that elegant spark within him, and fell deep in love with it, as well as with a particular silver headed fellow that resides within the same dorm. She became conflicted on who she liked more— the draconic male that seemed to make her heart do summersaults, or the sleepy silver haired male, who seemed to peak Momo’s interest like a curious child seeing something in the sky. She frequently likes to sneak away to Diasomnia to see them, a familiar bunch that made her feel comfortable and familiarized. When Riddle found out about this, he tried to restrain her from going out at night, especially to that particular dorm. Seeing his attempts as flawed, he put her under his collar, which she hated.
Her flower menagerie became a popular spot within the Heartslabyul Dorm. Full of magical roses of pink and red and magenta, people of Heartslabyul would be enthralled by the roses and their sweet scents. “DO NOT SMELL” warning signs had to be put around the menagerie however due to an increase in students falling ill without warning.
Momo had turned from an anxious, feared girl into a sweet and gentle soul, waiting for the next available flower to tend and for the next adventurous soul to befriend. Truly a woman of all trades, a one of a kind girl.
“I know what leaves those scars. I’m sorry. Nobody should have to go through that torture.” MC to Chime if you're still up for it.
You didn't mean to walk in on him. You thought he would be hungry so you brought him snacks from upstairs in the Takamaghara, but things were extremely busy. When you swung the door open, you were in a hurry and didn't knock. "Chime, are you hungry? I grabbed a bite for you."
He was just finishing getting dressed. The skin on his back was so pale it was easy to see the lesions. They were typical of torture with a burning cigarette tip. They had the characteristic appearance you could expect to see from such a cause. Although people sometimes self-harm in this fashion, the scars on his back couldn't have been self-inflicted because he would not have been able to reach that far.
Chime turned around quickly and saw your expression, but he kept silent and just nodded to you. "That's very kind of you. But I have no appetite right now.
You turn your head away. "I know what leaves those scars. I'm sorry. Nobody should have to go through that torture."
"Oh those?" Much to your shock he smiled a little. "I forgot I had them. A lot went on when I was young."
"You... got those when you were young?" You asked, turning back to him.
Chime finished shrugging into his shirt and pulling it over his stomach. "Yes. Brother upset our foster father when he refused to join Hydra the first time they came knocking. There were consequences for that. I never told him. It would only upset him." His eye lids lowered softly and he stared into space briefly, remembering but then he shook his head. "You should go back to work."
