I recorded a Black History Month Episode of Ellis Conversations (https://bit.ly/3XxGWe1 ) this week. We talk about the Florida Ban on African American History and the banning of books happening across this country.  You’ll hear me get heated, especially about the banning of Ruby Bridges’ book.  The individuals that want to ban the book claim that the subject will make people feel uncomfortable.   What’s so galling to me is that many of the white adults that violently heckled a little black are still alive. This is not a distant past. And as my daughter pointed out when I told her about the banning of Ruby Bridges Book - Ruby’s still alive ( my daughter is 9 years old and older than Ruby Bridges at the time) . The scars are still fresh and there are those that would have us forget.
