When They Accidentally Upset You
The wives would be absolutely loving and extremely protective over their mate, they fret over you constantly. Despite that, misunderstandings tend to occur.
The only time they would ever be “mean” towards you would be if you happened to bother them at the wrong time when they were already upset about something else.
While your relationship with them is essentially perfect. Recently, however, you were starting to believe that you were the problem.
It started off with Aleera.
Aleera is the most affectionate of the wives, however, she has the most fiery temper.
This tends to happen whenever she's upset with the other wives, especially Verona.
Do not engage with her whenever she's like this, you might end up in the cross-fire. It is better to wait for her to calm down and come to you.
You happened to walk in when they were both arguing, hissing at each other with venomous words about a feeding that almost went haywire.
Marishka was simply standing there, watching them argue with a distant look in her eyes.
After a little while, Marishka was the first to leave the room, shaking her head as she did. You only continued to watch the argument and jump in to help resolve the issue.
However, when Aleera had enough, she rushed away with teary-eyes and being the caring mate that you were you wanted to comfort her since she seemed the most affected.
When you finally found her, she was pacing with tears streaming down her face with haunting sobs that seemed to echo throughout the castle.
“Aleera...” You muttered, attempting to rush over and bring her into your arms. The action only resulting in her ripping herself away and hissing loudly. The action brought a slight twinge of fear within you.
“Leave me be!” She practically hissed in your face, her eyes glowing a fluorescent lavender. “I do not wish to see the likes of you!”
Trying not to upset her more, you ran off to find Verona. The sting of her words seemed to replay on a loop in order to torment you. You have never seen her react like that towards you.
When you finally found Verona, you hesitated to even speak to her given how you were treated by Aleera
Verona is known to be the more mature one between the brides, hopefully speaking to her would be able to settle your nerves.
You were definitely wrong about that.
Verona has a tendency to vent about her troubles with the other wives and while you wanted to comfort her, it was difficult when she wouldn’t listen to what you had to say.
Verona was tenacious, and whenever she firmly believed something, it was difficult to change her mind or see the other side.
She’s not afraid to speak out on something she disagrees with, but right now it seemed like everything you said in order to comfort her were entirely wrong and unhelpful.
“I’m sure she meant nothing by it, Verona.” You uttered, watching her as she continued angrily muttering to herself. “
“She hardly listens to me!” She remarked in return. “She’s nothing more than a little brat.”
“Just give it some time. She has done well by you, you should be happy that she’s even alright.” You replied.
She sighed, shaking her head. “I’ve given her all the time we could possibly have. Find Marishka, maybe you can be of use to her.” She rolled her eyes.
The initial string from earlier only grew as you could only nod and leave the room, clutching your aching heart as you went to find Marishka.
Whenever there is conflict within the relationship, Marishka likes to keep to herself and allow the conflict to resolve itself, if she’s not already involved.
This was a previous problem and you never had to chance to discuss that her seemingly lack of caring what happens in the relationship involving arguments, makes you feel wary.
When you finally found her, she was in the courtyard of the castle, sitting on one of the stone benches and watching the night sky.
You felt a little relief, hoping that speaking with Marishka will bring some resolution in order for the conflict to settle.
She turned towards you as you took your own spot next to her and gave her a small smile. However, she didn’t return it and only looked away.
You sighed before beginning the conversation. “They’re still very upset with each other.”
“I noticed.” She replied, “They never learn and I grow tired of watching them spray venom at each other.”
“It shouldn’t be happening like this.” You remarked, gently. “I understand Aleera made a mistake but we should be grateful that she’s okay. Arguing won’t help.”
“I’ve spent centuries trying exactly what you’re doing. Let them continue acting this way, my dear.”
“If I try harder, maybe they will!” You said, turning towards her and grabbing her hand, trying to make her at least look at you. “Marishka, please.”
She sighed, snatching her hand away and giving you a small glare. “Why must you try so hard? Clearly it doesn’t work and it isn’t helping anyone!”
After that, the sting you were feeling in your heart started to feel more like a burning sensation. After spending hours trying to bring everyone together, it seemed like you did nothing but make things worse for everyone.
You sniffled, which made Marishka turn towards you with slightly widened eyes. “I’m going to retire early, goodnight.” You quickly stood, feeling the tears falling as you rushed inside the castle.
When They Comfort You
It has been a few nights since the incident and you did everything you could to avoid your mates. It was extremely hard given the intense bond you had with them but you needed time to yourself.
Since Marishka was the last person you have spoken with and witnessed you being close to tears, she was the first one to mention this to the others.
Verona and Aleera’s worriedness from not seeing you for a while only escalated and they needed to figure out what they should do.
Verona and Aleera’s argument from nights before were on the last of their minds as they worked together with Marishka to find you and understand what made you so upset that you refused to see them.
You sniffled, trying to brush away the tears that continued streaming down your face as you sat in front of your vanity.
It has been a few nights since you have seen your mates and you were extremely upset that your absence wasn’t even remotely noticed by them. It felt like a slap in the face and confirming your inner thoughts that you truly weren’t needed in the relationship.
Suddenly, the slightest creaking noise broke you out from your inner turmoil as the temperature of your room decreased significantly. You turned towards the sound, only seeing your three mates standing there, faces contorted in concern and worriedness. Taking a slight glance towards the window confirmed that they broke in through the window in order to see you.
“Darling..." Verona muttered softly, taking a few steps towards you while Marishka grasped her arm, following along.
Aleera could only stare, having the distinct feeling that she may have been the one to cause this mess.
"What are you doing here?" You whispered, brushing away your remaining tears as you stood a little straighter in your chair.
"We were so worried for you, my love." Marisha replied, "What's the matter?"
You shook your head and turned away. "It's of no importance."
Aleera took this moment to step up with her fellow brides. "Anything involving you is of importance, my love. Please, speak with us."
Taking a moment, you finally nodded before motioning towards the bed, bringing yourself to sit in the middle while your mates happily followed. They surrounded you and cuddled against you, stroking and touching your hair and arms in a sense of comfort.
"Tell us, darling." Verona requested, lighting tugging on a strand of your hair which brought a small smile on your face for a split second.
You have spent the time discussing with them everything that happened after the argument between Verona and Aleera.
The ways in which you felt that you were a useless asset to the relationship and how they made you feel like you were unhelpful and useless.
After finding out what was wrong and how they made you feel, they were extremely upset with themselves and apologized immediately.
The talk the four of you had lasted for hours but it brought a lot of rekindling within your relationship with them and each other.
After that moment, Aleera was more patient, Verona was more open to the others' opinions and Marishla was more involved with making sure the relationship went more smoothly.
Furthermore, the brides were extremely much more affectionate to make up for how they treated you that day and you were forever grateful that discussion brought about good changes within the relationship.

Hear me out: Dracula D&D (5e) AU
Jonathan's a battle based bard. You need charisma when you're a solicitor. Feel like his charisma was the reason he was able to survive in the castle for SIX FUCKING MONTHS without dying or getting chained to a wall, he got it bad but let's all admit he could have had it a lot worse! Also his bribery phase is pretty entertaining LOL. Think he'd be in the college of Swords or Valor.
Mina's a rogue. From what I understand of her, she's got a wide breath of knowledge that a rogue would have, and she's a teacher so she'd kind of have to be like that. Unsure about subclass because I can't decide between Inquisitive or Phantom.
Quincey's a ranger because obviously
Arthur's an artificer, just because from how it looks, it seems everyone's using him as the Uncle Pennybags of the group, and that's what artificers tend to end up as. Possibly a battle smith, with the steel defender being one of his dogs
Lucy's a Druid. I was originally going to make her a cleric for symbolic and ironic reasons, but I just get druid vibes from how she talks from re:dracula and there's also a bit of symbolism in how Dracula can corrupt nature.
Jack's a wizard because he's interested in advancing knowledge and goes to great and memeically unusual lengths to archive his work. Possibly an enchantment wizard because of how he's interested in studying human minds. He'd write his diary entries in his spellbook using the same method for transcribing spells and use all his expensive ink and stuff in the process.
Renfield's a barbarian, he's been described as being very strong and I'm pretty sure you need a strong constitution to eat all those birds and bugs without getting an upset stomach. Strength and constitution are what barbarians are best known for. Beast barbarian because it gives a bite attack and I just KNOW that Renfield's the kind of person to bite people LOL
Abraham Van Hesling's probably a multiclassed character, but I suppose that if he had any 'main' classes he'd be a bard or rogue for the sake of skills. He'd be all over the place. His player probably optimised him for maximum skills. Probably a Lore Bard or Knowledge Cleric if we had to stick with one class.

Werewolves designs and other shit
Got bored- Remembered I have free choice to make posts on anything I want... So here I am with opinions no one asked for. As the title suggests, it's about werewolves. Starting off, I don't believe I need to explain what a werewolf is. However, I'll put it out there that in most descriptions and depictions it's meant to be a humanoid wolf. I say this because you'll find that in some movies or books it's just a person turning into a giant wolf with no human features or movement such as standing on two legs. (Or like a minotaur situation where the body is a human, but the head is a wolf.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here I've collected just human references and anatomy- This is so I can make comparisons and such. Humans vary heavily in the way that we look, due to things such as lifestyle and genetics. At base level, of course we're HUMAN. However, things like our body types, hair texture, eye colour or shape and yada yada all can change the way we look and create differences between us and somebody else.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is the same for wolves, though maybe not as noticeable compared to humans? Mostly things like their size, coat colour or thickness and etc is what separates them from one another. Looking at their head shapes also can show what species they may be. Generally, they're a pretty lean animal seeing as wolves are known for their running endurance to hunt prey. Being too big would slow them down... I mention this because some depictions of werewolves people make them too muscular in my opinion? It's like they're hairy body builders. Speaking of werewolves- Let me try draw this post back to where I started it! First I wanna look at almost shifted werewolves, so not fully transformed.
Tumblr media
(Also I will be using depictions and characters which aren't labelled necessarily as a ''werewolf'' but share many features or similarities. For example, Bigby from The Wolf Among Us.) The common things we usually see is an increase in hairiness, canine growth and eyes becoming highlighted- Usually yellow, though sometimes the werewolf maintains their natural eye colour. We also have ears becoming pointed and the area around the eyebrows and forehead starting to protrude more. All of these things when done right I enjoy in a werewolf design! Though, it's a given that some do it better than others... One of my favourite werewolf designs and transformations has to go to the movie An American Werewolf In London.
Tumblr media
This to me is one of the PEAKS of werewolves in media. I could probably make a full post on just this movie... It's one of the most iconic designs and for good reason. Not to mention, I love practical effects, especially in horror. One of my dreams is to make a movie with them. Enough gushing though. What do I like? Well, it's grotesque nature really. A transformation shouldn't just be BAM you're a ball of fur in my eyes. The amount of change is crazy and so glossed over.
Tumblr media
The transformation literally has bones extending along with all the muscles and tissues alongside. Don't even get me started on what the organs may have to be doing? A human heart could not support a werewolf body, it just wouldn't be big enough... That muscle would literally have to increase in size to be able to deal with the power behind the body of a wolf. Yes, I'm aware they're supernatural and I shouldn't try heavily to apply science to them... However, I don't care? A TRANSFORMATION WOULD BE HORRFIC AND PAINFUL, SO IT SHOULD BE SHOWN AS SUCH! It's also why I headcanon that turned werewolves have the chance of just dying straight up with their first transformation, compared to ones just born as a werewolf because of how extreme the change is. Anyway! Some more designs.
Tumblr media
I think what some suffer from, is leaning either too close to a human and or leaning too close to a wolf? They can't find a balance and at times it's like a worse rendition of the Cats movie.
Tumblr media
Like here, the werewolves from The Quarry almost lean into some classic vampire depictions. The teeth I like! But the lack of hair and flatter snout just means it's not really screaming WEREWOLF at me.. More so a general mutant. (QUICK ADD! A flatter snout doesn't always break a design. It's just when other features such as hair are also lacking that it starts becoming less wolf in nature to me.) We've also got a more recent werewolf to look at... Which is Enid from the Wednesday show. Because fucking hell, that was a disappointment? She ended up looking like a mix between the Ice Age baby and Diego the saber tooth tiger.
Tumblr media
They did her so fucking dirty... And it would actually be very simple to fix! This could be salvaged- It just wasn't. Somebody saw that design and green lit it and whoever you are, why? I think I'll end this here now because I've reached the image limit... If anyone has any questions about certain things I've mentioned, feel free. I also want to state that this is pure opinion and by no means supposed to spread hate towards anything? It's your world, if you wanna draw your werewolves like the Sims 4, who am I to stop you? THIS IS MAL OUT! AND IF YOU'VE READ ALL OF THIS YOU'RE SOMEHOW MORE UNHINGED THAN I AM CURRENTLY. (I MAY MAKE A PT 2 AS I DO HAVE MORE THOUGHTS AND MENTIONS TO MAKE.)

Trigger Warning for blood and Implied violence/Gore: Major Character Death
Tumblr media
I had this idea while after thinking about Renfield 2023 being a continuation of Dracula 1931 as a different ending.
Van Helsing pursues Dracula back into his coffin. Ready to drive a stake through his heart. Ending his terror once and for all. Renfield arrives in a panic. He couldn't allow Van Helsing to murder his master. He had to do something. And what he did was drastic and unforgivable. There was no talking Van Helsing down. Dracula was an evil threat to every sense of good in the world. With no other option, Renfield picks up a large stone and strikes Van Helsing in the back of the head with it. He goes down but when he groans and twitches Renfield sees no going back and takes the stone back down into his face. Again and again until Van Helsing stops moving.
In shock and horror Renfield drops the stone and crumbles to his knees.
Renfield: "I'm truly a madman. What have I done." From behind him, Dracula begins to emerge from his coffin.
Dracula: "What you did, my dear servant, is prove your worth to me. This is only the beginning. You and I, for all eternity."
And that's how Renfield did his first murder. :3

For how often Van Helsing is interpreted as an author self-insert for being “smart and knowledgeable” and whatnot… Bram sure seems to love having Mina completely own him every time the guy starts thinking he’s the only one in the crew who knows stuff.
Van Helsing: “Now, I’m sure you kids aren’t familiar with it, but here’s a brief introduction to criminology.”
Mina, a nerd, lover of ghost stories who also probably has actively researched the most interesting murders to ever happen on England out of sheer curiosity: “Actually…”
Stoker, while writing: “Humble him, girl.”

I saw a post recently to the effect of “If you’re going to do the reincarnated wife plot in Dracula, it would at least make more sense if Dracula’s reincarnated love was Renfield”, and I think that’s a very intriguing thought, but I’d like to suggest an alternative idea that’s taken over my brain lately: Renfield as Van Helsing’s offscreen “mad wife”, who we briefly hear mentioned in the book but never see or learn any details about.
Let me just lay out my case here:
Van Helsing has a wife who, we’re told, is mentally ill and presumably in an asylum. Her mental breakdown is often assumed to have had something to do with Dracula, even though there’s nothing in the text that explicitly suggests this.
Renfield is a man around Van Helsing’s age (presumably - Renfield is explicitly 59, and Van Helsing seems to be middle-aged) who’s mentally ill and in an asylum. His mental illness is often assumed to have been caused by Dracula, although there’s nothing in the text that explicitly suggests this.
We never see Van Helsing’s wife onscreen, nor do we learn any details about her as a person, her relationship with Van Helsing, or the events that led her to where she is at the time of the book. It’s often theorized to be in some way connected with the death of Van Helsing’s son (also briefly mentioned but not elaborated on), which I think makes sense, but again, we know no details. Did she have a breakdown from the grief of losing her son, or did the same thing that killed Van Helsing Jr drive her out of her mind? Or is it a bit of both?
Van Helsing obviously couldn’t go around referring to a “husband” or male lover in the Victorian era, so it makes total sense that (when he can get away with it) he’d refer to having lost a “wife” to make people understand the kind of grief he’s talking about without giving himself away.
Now, to be clear, I absolutely don’t think this is canon, nor does it work seamlessly as an interpretation of canon. There are a number of nuances in canon that point against it - let’s start by looking at Van Helsing’s full statement about his wife:
“... and me, with my poor wife dead to me, but alive by Church’s law, though no wits, all gone—even I, who am faithful husband to this now-no-wife...”
“By Church’s law” means that the Church still considers them married despite Mrs. Van Helsing’s condition, which obviously makes no sense for a relationship between two men that the Church wouldn’t have recognized in the first place. And that would be a very random thing for Van Helsing to throw in there if it wasn’t true.
Also, this is a very delicate topic (and the whole thing touches uncomfortably close to ableism, obviously), but... the way Van Helsing talks about his wife here - “dead to me, though alive by Church’s law”, “no wits, all gone” - makes me picture someone who isn’t as lucid and aware as Renfield seems to be. Like maybe someone who’s in a catatonic state, or who’s so completely lost her sense of reality that she wouldn’t even recognize Van Helsing or be able to interact with him in anything approaching a normal way anymore.
So no, I don’t think it 100% works within canon - but what’s striking to me is how seamlessly it fits into the canon framework if an adaptation or AU fic chose to go this route, while also bringing a ton of new dramatic and emotional potential to the table.
And I can see them making sense as a couple, is the thing. They’re both very intelligent, creative, and intellectually curious (and, perhaps, a bit high-handed at times). Jack writes that Van Helsing has “an absolutely open mind” and “his views are as wide as his all-embracing sympathy” - despite being a scientist whose work is rooted in facts and logic, he’s willing to consider ideas that others might consider absolutely crazy, like the existence of vampires. And the same, of course, is true of Renfield as well. He’s not just a crazy person with random crazy delusions - there’s a clear logic behind the ideas he’s pursuing, and one that isn’t even entirely bizarre when we consider that he exists in a world where vampirism is real.
The way Renfield systematically sets up investigating his theories, moving from one carefully planned stage to another and recording the results in his notebook at each phase, is like a twisted science experiment (again, something Jack specifically notes about him). And I wonder if there isn’t a clue to his past life there: Maybe once upon a time he was doing actual science experiments - unconventional ones, to be sure, maybe pursuing ideas that other people would dismiss as ridiculous, but not anything twisted or harmful. And I can imagine Van Helsing being absolutely fascinated by the work he was doing - that both of them, in fact, would have valued having someone they could always brainstorm with and discuss any idea, without the limitations that narrower minds might place on them.
I’m also kind of obsessed with the dramatic potential of the fact that the first time they interact face-to-face in the book is the scene where Renfield is begging to be let out of the asylum. Like imagine if up to that point, everything’s played out exactly the way it does in the novel - you have the scene of Van Helsing talking about his “wife” (maybe even in a bit more detail, in a scene where he’s trying to comfort Jack or something?), and you have Renfield having his whole plot unfold, and there’s absolutely no hint that there’s any connection between the two. And then suddenly you have that scene, and from the second Van Helsing walks into the room you see that immediate moment of recognition between him and Renfield.
And Jack is oblivious to this, going through the rounds of introducing everybody, and meanwhile Van Helsing and Renfield are just staring at each other in absolute silence. Like cannot take their eyes off each other, the rest of the gang might as well not even be there.
Until, before Jack can get up to Van Helsing’s introduction, Renfield very calmly and clearly says “Hello, Abraham.”
And like, how does that change Van Helsing’s reaction when Renfield starts pleading??? Would he beg Jack to go along with it? Or would he just be standing there frozen, not trusting himself to speak in case his feelings are clouding his ability to think clearly?? How much of an emotional punch does it add to the scene if Renfield can turn to him and say “You used to trust me before; why won’t you trust me now??”
Bear in mind, even in canon Van Helsing admits if it had been up to him, he would have been about to let Renfield go (at least, up until “that last hysterical outburst”). How much more might that be the case if he has an emotional connection to this man on top of everything else?
I think, if it was up to me, I wouldn’t directly tie Dracula into their backstory - that feels too pat and simplistic IMO. But I think I’d have it that their son was preyed on and eventually killed by a vampire, and they didn’t realize what was happening in time to save him. Afterwards, their attempts to piece together what had happened account for both the fact that Van Helsing clearly has some pre-existing knowledge of vampires (but is clearly not the expert vampire hunter pop culture often portrays him as), and also the cause of Renfield’s current obsession. I can imagine the grief and trauma of having lost his son, along with the unreality of starting to understand that something totally outside of the normal world did it, taking a toll on his probably already-not-great mental health until his attempts to solve what happened spiral into a full-on breakdown and end up with the obsession with vampirism we see in the novel.
(How do they have a son as a gay couple in the Victorian era, you ask? I honestly don’t think it’s that hard to justify. You can either say Van Helsing did previously have a wife and was widowed, or that it’s an orphaned kid one of them took in as a ward and considered their son (similar to Jonathan’s situation with Mr. Hawkins, perhaps?)).
I don’t think it was bad, at all, for the novel to leave some things up to the reader’s imagination, but I also really love how this idea allows us to take two tiny scraps of backstory which are either only vaguely hinted at (Van Helsing’s) or almost completely unaddressed (Renfield’s), and combine them into something which can add a lot of depth and emotional impact for both characters. It takes those hints that we know from canon, and even some of the more well-known theories attempting to fill in those gaps, and combines them  into one story that (to me) seems to fit together seamlessly while also fleshing things out beyond canon. It gives us a totally different picture of who Renfield was before he was in the asylum - a brilliant and unconventional scientific mind, a man who had a partner and son he loved and loves deeply - and a sense of everything he lost. And at the same time, it takes Van Helsing’s lost love from being a nameless and faceless woman we know literally nothing about, to a character who’s a major part of the narrative and who we get the chance to know in depth in his own right.
I just think there’s a lot of potential there, if a retelling of Dracula ever chooses to go that route.

"Why does Van Helsing expect Seward to go so long without sleep?"
I don't think that he did, is the thing? Could be wrong, I suppose. But I think he'd figured Jack would take the day off. Jack is the head of an asylum and appears to have very (very) free rein there. I think he'd assumed that Jack might postpone some of his paperwork, or hand it off to a subordinate. At least enough to get a nap in. That would actually be much less likely to raise the eyebrows of whoever it is he has to justify himself to for his paycheck than some of the stuff he's done with Renfield. "I was up all night with a sick friend so I took the day off" is much more conventional than "I tried letting a violent patient run loose because I thought I'd understand his case better."
Incidentally, this has given us some really excellent insight into Seward's character: Dr. John Seward is the kind of man for whom the idea of letting a violent and extremely strong near-60-year-old try to escape seems responsible, but absolutely cannot imagine neglecting his paperwork in favor of napping. In the words of a dear friend, "One is for Science, taking a nap is just lazy."
It's the kind of thing one either finds oddly endearing or absolutely infuriating. Or both.

Gabriel Van Helsing With Vampire!Reader HCs
TW: Slight mentions of blood and death
Tumblr media
Unfortunately, you both would start off as enemies.
Still though, who doesn't like a little bit of enemies to lovers, am I right?
The only way Gabriel would end up in a relationship with you if you were vegan [drinking the blood of animals] and/or saved his life somehow.
Being a monster hunter, he can sense evil and has the belief that monsters have no redemption. Especially since that's all he's experienced throughout his career.
If you save his life and genuinely wish to help him, he will keep you around but remain cautious.
With you accompanying him when he goes on hunting trips for the Vatican, he will start to become more open with you.
Speaking of the Vatican, he will never mention you. He knows that if they discovered you, they would order him to kill you.
Helping him defeat monsters with your vampire abilities will make him start to fall for you.
However, what completely sealed the deal was seeing your kindness towards children that thought you were gorgeous and coming up to you curiously.
Despite your kind being depicted in literature as being blood-thirsty demons that show no sympathy or remorse.
You helped him believe that monsters can still be human and have the ability of being good.
When he's finally comfortable around you and what he feels for you, he won't ask you out the normal way.
During an extremely difficult hunting, the monster managed to get the jump on him and disarm him.
While he was on the ground close to bleeding to death, you rescued him once again and quickly rushed over to help him.
While you're worryingly checking over his wounds, he practically grabbed you and pulled you into a kiss.
From then on, your relationship was sealed.
Gabriel is still a little apprehensive over your bat-form, but in time he would get used to it.
He still finds you extremely beautiful.
One time he lost his horse that you both shared and your bright idea was to simply carry him while you were in your bat-form.
He hates the rides, he's gripping your legs like a lifeline.
You honestly didn't like it either because while you may be a vampire, your partner was extremely heavy with all his layers and weapons.
The bright side was the yells he would let out when you would randomly grab him and fly to your next destination.
If the Vatican found out about you and ordered him to kill you, he would refuse.
You're the love of his life and it doesn't matter that you're a vampire.
He would threaten to leave the church and they would lose their best monster hunter and while it may have been a bluff, he threatened he would allow you to sink your teeth into them.
If something were to happen to him, he would allow you to turn him.
He couldn't imagine what he would do if he lost you and he can't imagine leaving you heartbroken if he died.
Therefore, he would make a sacrifice and let you change him.

There are a lot of vampire hunters out there. Any human can be a vampire hunter, not anyone can be good at it of course, so many have died even trying to get close to a vampire.
But I think it’s different to be a Van Helsing. They are definitely more dangerous to the vampires and it is of course against the rules to have an intimate relationship with them for both sides (not having anyone in mind, just saying of course, it’s not like there is a canon thing on the show or anything).
The first Van Helsing was born relatively recently, in the 18th century, called Abraham Van Helsing. He wrote a book with all the ways to kill a vampire and everything about the vampires he knew. The book still exists, notes added as the new hunters follow his steps. Whether they were Van Helsings or not, vampire hunters often raised their family that way...
Being a Van Helsing basically makes you a natural vampire killer: you don’t need proper training and your first instinct is to kill them, they could kill one before they are even aware of it. Even before Van Helsings encounter their first vampire, there is a part of them that always knew they exist… They don't have to train to kill, but if they are, if they study about it... then well, it really makes them number one vampire enemy...

When it comes to Guillermo, he was not raised as a vampire slayer, his grandma tried to shield her family from it. He didn't grow up hating them, on the contrary. Still, years later, he started killing vampires, first in self-defense and then to protect the ones he cares about. He has never talked to his family about it, even though now he knows they are Van Helsings too. He doesn't know that there is a book and perhaps a society out there. But still, he has killed more vampires than any other vampire hunter in decades, perhaps ever since Abraham. And... He uses his lineage to protect vampires.

Van Helsing has already been shown breaking and entering places multiple times.
I don't care what he claims, he absolutely broke into a church and stole those communion wafers.

I envision Aleera's approach to catching her prey as a carefully orchestrated and seductive game. She doesn't just pounce on her victims; she lures them into a web of desire and danger.
Aleera chooses her prey with precision, often selecting individuals with a strong-willed and confident demeanor. She begins by subtly seducing them, using her irresistible charm and allure. As the prey becomes more captivated, they find themselves willingly drawn into her world.
She might tease and play with them, allowing them to believe they have a chance to escape. It’s a carefully choreographed dance of temptation and torment. Her sadistic pleasure comes not only from the act of feeding but from the psychological torment she inflicts.
Ultimately, when her prey is at their most vulnerable, when they’ve given in to her completely, she strikes with a mix of ecstasy and cruelty. This headcanon emphasizes Aleera’s ability to manipulate and dominate her victims while reveling in the power dynamic of the hunt.
