Hear me out: Dracula D&D (5e) AU

Jonathan's a battle based bard. You need charisma when you're a solicitor. Feel like his charisma was the reason he was able to survive in the castle for SIX FUCKING MONTHS without dying or getting chained to a wall, he got it bad but let's all admit he could have had it a lot worse! Also his bribery phase is pretty entertaining LOL. Think he'd be in the college of Swords or Valor.

Mina's a rogue. From what I understand of her, she's got a wide breath of knowledge that a rogue would have, and she's a teacher so she'd kind of have to be like that. Unsure about subclass because I can't decide between Inquisitive or Phantom.

Quincey's a ranger because obviously

Arthur's an artificer, just because from how it looks, it seems everyone's using him as the Uncle Pennybags of the group, and that's what artificers tend to end up as. Possibly a battle smith, with the steel defender being one of his dogs

Lucy's a Druid. I was originally going to make her a cleric for symbolic and ironic reasons, but I just get druid vibes from how she talks from re:dracula and there's also a bit of symbolism in how Dracula can corrupt nature.

Jack's a wizard because he's interested in advancing knowledge and goes to great and memeically unusual lengths to archive his work. Possibly an enchantment wizard because of how he's interested in studying human minds. He'd write his diary entries in his spellbook using the same method for transcribing spells and use all his expensive ink and stuff in the process.

Renfield's a barbarian, he's been described as being very strong and I'm pretty sure you need a strong constitution to eat all those birds and bugs without getting an upset stomach. Strength and constitution are what barbarians are best known for. Beast barbarian because it gives a bite attack and I just KNOW that Renfield's the kind of person to bite people LOL

Abraham Van Hesling's probably a multiclassed character, but I suppose that if he had any 'main' classes he'd be a bard or rogue for the sake of skills. He'd be all over the place. His player probably optimised him for maximum skills. Probably a Lore Bard or Knowledge Cleric if we had to stick with one class.

After the novel Jonathan and Mina use the rest of their inheritance to change careers and found a small convalescence home, like one of those places you go to when you don't need the hospital anymore but you still can't quite be independent. During the First World War they become known for dealing with victims of shell shock bc as you can imagine they're good at it. Also when Van Helsing grows too old to manage himself he goes to live there and he is taken care of. There is something deeply compelling to me about imagining Van Helsing in his late 80s chatting it up with a bunch of wounded soldiers like tell me he would not thrive in this environment and tell me that the soldiers would not grow to love him.

Quincey Harker: south asian through both parents, and adopted nephew of ethnic jew Van Helsing. Bi (female lean) and a wife man taking after his father the gentleman lawyer Jonathan Harker. Also vampire hunter of all time!

Now, for those of us who know Horse Girls

That would definitely be a reason to take up vampire hunting.

And yes i know he qualifies it with “one of those big bats” but c’mon, Abraham Multi-Doctorates is definitely avoiding saying Lucy has a case of the vampires, so of course a seasoned vampire hunter would seize upon vampire bats to avoid saying that his horse also had a case of the vampires.

I will die on the hill that Dracula and Alucard can purr.

They don’t do it very often, and majority have never heard such things come from either of them.

It’s something they only do when they are truly safe, happy, content, and pleased.

And often do it subconsciously without even realizing it.

Dracula has a very deep low purr, it rumbles loudly and often if you’re on his chest cuddling him, you will shake to the frequency of his purrs.

He sounds more like a content dragon.

Alucard’s purr isn’t as deep, and it’s nearly mute, it’s incredibly soft sounding but it rumbles his chest, and he won’t notice he’s doing it unless you point it out.

He rejects his monstrous side, so if you mention it please ease his worries and tell him how much you love it.

He only purrs when it’s just you two, not wanting others to see him so vulnerable.

But he more purrs in the morning when he wakes up to you.

what the two vampires do have in common is how they will lean towards you, chasing your affection with their purrs for your ears only.

Greedy for your touch, greedy for your love they wish to drown in it all, and can’t help but give their own affection in return.

To cuddle you, to hold you, to kiss you with their purrs only growing in volume.

Dracula is ancient. He is old. He has walked the earth for centuries, and has learned to ease his bloodlust. Yes, he is very well-acquainted with the temptations that comes with vampirism, and he does his best to keep his fangs clean, for he is mot the man he once was.

It is enticing. The smell that emits from your pretty pulse points, the way your heartbeat echoes and reverberates off of the castle walls drive his bloodlust farther. But he holds back. He will not succumb to his primal instincts. Not yet, at least.

But the day will come. He knows it will, for when your neck flaunts itself through the collar of your clothes he feels his façade slip and his hunger grow.

So the day comes, he holds a hand gingerly and sinks his teeth into your wrist. No, it is not the neck, but he feels like this is more appropriate than biting you in such an intimate place. He would not do anything you did not wish and would take it slowly, which is why his fangs would dip into the supple skin of your wrist; to ease you into the puncturing pain that will become familiar to you.

To Vlad, the act is intimate. He savours it, taking his time to ensure comfort and relish in the taste, smell, and essence. So when the time comes and his fangs graze your neck, he feels your pulse quicken under his lips, and his hand would make its way to the side of your head and softly entangle it in your hair, craning your head to the side for better access. Agonizingly slow his fangs would pierce into your flesh, drinking like a starved dog.

If he could he would stay there for eternity, to bleed you dry because your blood tastes like ambrosia, the food of the gods. He will not succumb to such basic and primal instincts no matter how much he wants to. He will not become more of a monster than he already is. Instead he would drink in the gasps that leave you, the pained hitch in your breath when he punctures your neck. He would not try to soothe you, too drunk on the taste he neglected for so long.

But the way it tastes on his tongue would drive him mad. It would simultaneously ease his bloodlust and drive it, making him want more. Enticing you were, so utterly cruel, but he would not lose himself in your scent. He would not allow it. You would not be a personal blood-bank for him, you are so much more than that.

You are his Achilles heel with your sweet taste. You would make him crumble to his knees just for a taste. He is weak for you, your scent and your smell. He becomes nothing more than a starved man when his fangs puncture your neck and tongue lap up the sweet, sweet nectar that oozes out and down your sweet skin.

Could I request Alucard from Castlevania with a dhampir s/o?

Alucard + Dhampir s/o

They probably met as children.

Lisa, knowing that her child would be different from all other children in the world, probably set out to find someone like Adrian (Alucard). He couldn’t be the first.

And as she’s known from experience, uniqueness makes one extraordinary but also makes one incredibly isolated.

Dracula would obviously have to help with this. Reaching out through his extensive network of vampires and loyal subjects to find, perhaps even just one, person like his son.

He is able to find such a one in s/o.

They would come over for visits and Alucard & s/o would play together. Becoming fast friends.

They would also use one another for sparing practice. Coming into their vampire traits and needing a sort of testing/sounding board for these new gifts.

The relationship between them originally was one of childish flirtation and crushes. Nothing too serious, although they were Alucard’s first kiss.

Their families drifted apart when Dracula went to travel as a man for several years, and Lisa became a local doctor.

After the tragedy their orbits came aligned again. Only, for the first time, they were not on the same side.

S/O was furious with the humans for what they did to Lisa. A woman who they considered a second mother. And they had not been protected from man’s cruelty nearly as much as Alucard had.

He was hurt to find them across the battlefield, but can understand their anger and tried to reason with them.

They do not help Alucard defeat his father, but they don’t stand in his way.

When it’s over they both commiserate over their loss, and try to make sense of things from here on out.

They move into the castle with him, securing the Belmont hold as well, and try to make a life together.

It’s nice being with someone they don’t always have to explain themselves too. The quirks and eccentricities of being a dhampir. It makes both of them more at ease.

Simple and sweet 💕I love it

They saw your far off expression and pink tint to your cheeks. Where were your thoughts? Who was your mind? They didn’t want to admit any jealousy, but did you happen to care for one? Or care for them, specifically? They had to know.

Trevor

He’s still getting used to feelings and everything so you’re met with a wide-eyed curios stare as soon as you respond. A hesitant “really?” answers you before you pull a calloused hand into yours. “Yes, Trevor, truly and deeply.”

Alucard

It’s rare thing to Adrian because he never assumed he was one who was enough to be lovable. So for you to see him as he is, and to have thought of him in a romantic manner. Stammering out his feelings as he best can, you feel two hands wrap around you. “Thank you…, I love you too.”

Dracula

It’s been ages since the Lord of Darkness had one close to him, let alone a romantic interest. And a sliver of such a good, pure thing is to be treasured by him. He’ll never let you go.

Isaac

The calm demeanor is the slightest surprised at your bold answer. It’s a new step in his living, and Isaac welcomes your love as a reassurance that there are good things to look forward too.

Hector

He swears his heart skips a few beats before he clears his voice to respond. Maybe he hugs you, or thinks of hugging you, before he returns your confession as well. “Right, well, that makes two of us.”

Working on my Lucy/Arthur fic and not sure if this detail will make the cut, but I'm in love with the idea of Arthur being the Victorian equivalent of a guy who texts a lot.

Lucy receives five to six telegrams a day (paid for on Arthur's end, fortunately) that just say, "I LOVE YOU" or "YOU'RE CUTE" or "I JUST SAW A PRETTY FLOWER BUT IT WAS NOT AS PRETTY AS YOU." Even if they just saw each other at lunch.

She keeps every one of them, in a stack on her bedside table.
