getting back into game development!

hi again!!! it's been a little while! sorry for the lack of updates, i've had a lil bit of a drop in motivation to work on modeling. i made a model for vappy's girlfriend like i talked about, and i've finished modeling her but just have yet to make a render to post online. sadly i've been feeling a bit distant from modeling stuff recently, so it might be a while before i post her. but i've had a new project i've been wanting to work on!!! over the summer, i picked up a copy of unity and tried my hand at gamedev with a little project to make a platformer. that kinda fell apart after i had a bug that wasted like a week of my time, and it burnt me out quite a bit. but i'm finally ready to get back! i've been planning a lot more this time around, i have an ongoing game design document filled with ideas, and i've been drafting a lot of plans this time. last time was a lot more experimental, just learning how coding and stuff works, but this time i've been planning a lot more to ensure this project can actually go somewhere instead of adding things as i go! i'm a lot more ready to take this project seriously this time, and i'm really excited to share stuff with y'all as i go. i'm planning to make a dev log like this either once every two weeks or once a month, depending on how much stuff i'm able to make. i have SO much stuff i'm excited to share as i make progress, but i want to keep my updates slow as to not burn myself out, since i'm planning to make this a longer term project.

as of right now, i'm calling this "Project Aspen", since i'm still a little bit undecided on the name. i have some solid ideas for what i want this game to be, and i'm hoping making this post will commit me to finally making more progress on this!

Introduction

✨️Hiya! You can just call me Oatmeal, Blackie, Vappy, whatever you want. As long as it's my user or the name of one of my characters, I'll probably respond xD When it comes to mascots or sonas, the one's you'll see most are the big fluffy pinkish red fox and the purple vaporeon.

✨️Pronouns? I don't care. Use any pronoun you want I wont lash out. Unless you call me "it". Seems a bit disrespectful to call a living creature "it" in my opinion xD.

✨️I'm Agender (I don't mind being called Transgender instead if that's easier for people, it technically is under that umbrella.) and my sexuality is Abrosexual. I possibly have DID and Autism, as I show a LOT of signs of both. However I have yet to go and get diagnosed (I hate hospitals :') My therapist said that I have anxiety and depression though (which I already knew, wheeze.), as well as PTSD. I wont go into too much about any of that though. This is a happy blog after all. It's just a warning incase anyone notices anything off about me some days uwu"

Hii! My name is Tina! I'm so glad I could finally join rotomblr and share my adventures with you! I mostly use xe/xem but I also use she/her so both are fine with me!! :3 I'm currently 18 and I'm located in Galar, Ballonlea (a beautiful place to visit btw).

At the moment I'm dating Kieran, but we've been quite distant since he left for one of his championships.. I can't wait for him to be back!!

I have so many pokemons I wish to own, but that's what adventures are for, right? For now I have my lovely team that I can always count on! ♡

-Torra,(Torracat), female-My one and only first pokemon!! that refuses to evolve anymore..:] I have found her during a rainstorm in the woods, dirty and wet while being a Litten. We immediately realised we're meant to be and our bond is unbreakable!! We're soulmates, in other terms :3 she's very stubborn, and we often just annoy each other until we both get mad. But we always make up for it with lots of cuddles!!

-Sylveon, female-Sylveon was gifted to me by my sweet boyfriend, Kieran, when she was just a shy little Eevee! Now I realise how much time went by, wow. She enjoys sweet treats, like chocolate chip cookies, especially the heart shaped ones. And lots of berries, too. Sometimes I refill my fruit bowl and the next thing I know is Sylveon on the table, chewing on them.

-Absol, female-Absol chose me back in the day when I was on an adventure with my little sister and Torra. We planned a camping night in the forest, trying to train our pokemons but, an Absol peeked behind the trees and we got scared because of the legend our mom used to tell us. Absol was going to warn us about an earthquake that was about to happen and fortunately, we were safe before any tree could fall on us. Absol followed behind, sniffing my purse and as I lend my hand towards it, she let me pet it. Then touched one of my pokeballs and went in! I have an Absolite from my grandma from a few years back, it's like she knew I'll have an Absol!

-Vappy(Vaporeon), female-Vappy became a Vaporeon quite faster than other Eevees. I was out, looking for certain items to buy but, an old seller took my attention. He had a basket full of Eevees and one Vaporeon that, surprisingly, no one wanted? She accidentally became a Vaporeon by touching a Water Stone although she wasn't ready to evolve at all. I took the matter in my own hands and bought her, only to find out she's gonna become one of the strongest pokemons of mine

-Emolga, female-EMOLGA IS THE SWEETEST POKEMON ALIVE!! I love her with my everything and she usually stays on my head when we travel along with Torra, who enjoys sitting on my shoulders. They're 4lifers!! I have gotten her in the wild by accident when I dropped one of my pokeballs. To my surprise when I got home, there she was standing.

-Luxray, male- Me and Luxray go waaaaay back. We met not too long after I got Torra, on my way home! The small Litten and Shinx were such cuties omgg. I remember when they fell asleep together one time! :3 i had trained them both in the woods and, I'm so proud to look at them now!

Pokesona/character concept discussion

Today’s splurge writing is a comparison and contrast of two pokemon I’m considering as Pokesonas/ creating a new outright character with (as opposed to a one off of some sort.) 

This also comes with a dandy TWITTER POLL.

The main two candidates I’m considering are Braixen and Vaporeon.

The main fundamental pro of picking Braixen would be the benefit of bidedalism built right in without any need for changes or the like. This is especially valuable for the sake of clothes-wearing, clothing tf, having hands, demonstration of anthropomorphic body language and common biological tendencies, and having a sex organ located on the front of them. Braixen also has traits of the adorable Fennekin, and many feminine traits, which gives him a leg up over other pokemon. I also have some partial experience with the line in that my protagonist in Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon was a Fennekin, so it’d be like the continuation of a legend. In essence, the value here is that Braixen is more man than ‘mon. 

The other candidate, Vaporeon, was chosen from a short list of pokemon with whom my kinky brain tends to resonate. The reason for this was that I looked over which one I could potentially do every single one of my fetishes and subkink scenarios with, and while certain ones went easier to Braixen, Vaporeon was the one with which I could do ALL of them. Vaporeon would probably be played as quadruped rather than biped, simply on reason that I’d like it that way if I chose Vappy. Vaporeon has strong liquidplay, smooth surfaces, a thick and somewhat more controllable tail than the other ‘mon, and would likely be much easier for me to make my own. The main thought process in picking this cutie would be choosing something that’s more ‘mon than man.
