when pleck found out C-53 is only the cube and not the frame, when Pleck realised that after Dar ripped C-53's frame apart they can save him if they find a new frame for the cube, when Pleck didn't know how to properly carry or store the cube but just knew it was important to keep it safe, when Pleck told C-53 he's beautiful in every frame, when Pleck implicitly gained a unique perspective and love for C-53 after handling the cube, when Pleck understood without even knowing the full story that C-53 loves being a boat, when Pleck asked C-53 every time he got a new frame how he feels in it, when Pleck... when the cube... when.. he...

It took a lot out of you not to stay in bed the next morning. The softness of your bed wrapped around your body gives you some sort of comfort. But of course, staying in bed would only make you feel worse. At least if you got up it would be easier to fake happiness. To no surprise, your phone was flooded with missed calls and texts from both Steven and Belly. Of course, you only responded to belly telling her that you'll explain your reasoning for ditching your "date" with Steven later.
Why did Steven even bother leaving you so many texts last night? If you were such a bother to him? Annoying. That's what he thinks you are. And what if you never heard those disgusting things he said about you? and went on the date with him? Would he just continue to lead you on?
Steven: waiting for you by the pool.
Steven: ur late
Steven: u look pretty even though i can't even see you. pls im starving
Steven: is belly holding you hostage?
Steven: it's been 18 minutes cmon.
Steven: the guys are going to laugh at me for being stood up I'm getting nervous.
Steven: did something happen are you okay?
Steven: belly is worried as well lmk.
You laughed at the messages blinking back angry tears that threatened to fall. Gosh! he was so fake. You could only imagine how relieved he must have been to not hang out with you.
Belly: have funnnn
Belly: no funny business!!
Belly: wait where did you go?!
Belly: Steven keeps pacing back and forth waiting for u
Belly: what’s going on?
Belly: just let us know ur okay
Belly: y/n ??!?!??
Y/n: hey, something came up last night sorry I had you worried. can u come over?
Belly arrived 20 minutes later. You spent the time together watching reruns of your favorite Disney show. “Do you want to talk about it?” Belly asked after a while, noticing something was bothering you.
“I overheard the guys talking about me last night.” You fiddled with the throw blanket that was on your lap. “At first it was just them teasing Steven about our date or whatever.” You took a deep breath upset that you felt like crying. “But Steven only agreed to hang out with me…” You paused blinking back tears. Belly moved closer immediately pulling you into a hug. “He only agreed to hang out with me…so I could stop annoying him! I honestly don’t know what I did wrong?” You pulled away from belly’s arms wiping your tears that had fallen.
“Maybe I was too forward? but I just wanted to see if he felt the same way…it was dumb.” You shrugged. Belly shook her head “Nope my brother is a fucking idiot!” she stood up taking your hand in hers and pulling you up. “I won’t let you mope around all day because of him!” You sighed “I don’t even have a choice do I?” Belly laughed shaking her head. “What do you say we go to the boardwalk? Taylor’s coming in today too” she smirked.
“And maybe someone would be happy to see you I don’t know” she whispered with a grin. “What are you talking about?” You questioned. “Well you know Xavier..the one that works the lemonade stand?” You nodded your head yes. “Well, he totally has the hots for you.” You cringed at her word choice. “He does not!” You laughed. “Oh, he does! you were too busy ogling my brother last summer you didn’t notice him ogling you.” she poked your side teasingly.
“Now let’s go!”
~
“Stay still before I poke your eye out” Taylor groans finishing up your eyeliner. You were now at the Fisher’s beach house getting ready to go down to the boardwalk. You laugh pulling away “I think that’s enough…if you make my eyeliner any thicker I’d cry!” Taylor playfully pushes your head away. “Sorryyyyy i want to make Xavier fall to his knees when he sees you!” You frown when she brings that name up. Sure, Xavier was a nice guy…and he was cute…but he wasn’t Steven.
You’d always imagined Steven being your first everything. First kiss, first date, first time. It was something you’d dreamt of all this time.
“Yeah…im going to get a snack before we head out do y’all want anything?” You ask heading towards the door. Both girls gave you a sympathetic smile shaking their heads no.
As you reached the kitchen you stopped in your tracks. Steven turned from looking into the fridge. You made eye contact for about 5 seconds before you beelined for the cabinets. “Hey,” Steven broke the silence as you pulled out a granola bar. You felt the warmth of his stare and turned finding him now leaning against the counter. “Hey…” you whispered looking anywhere but his face. “So you gonna tell me what happened last night?” Steven crossed his arms around his chest.
“Just didn’t feel up for it anymore ..” You shrugged nonchalantly. “That’s it?” Steven scoffed. “Yeah…that’s it” you whispered about to walk away. “What’s going on? I’m like so confused right now.” Steven gently gripped your arm. “Nothing just forget it…it’s not like you wanted to go anyways.” you rolled your eyes. “And what makes you think that?” He muttered eyes scouring your face for the truth. “Um, I don’t know let’s see …you quite literally ignored me this entire week!” You responded sarcastically.
“I didn’t mean to. I had a lot of shit on my mind alright?” Steven uttered softly. It almost felt genuine. The words he spoke just last night almost became liquid. “Yeah like what?” You whispered eventually looking into his eyes. “You can tell me..” You spoke gently stepping into him closer. No matter how much he’s hurt you. Steven would always make you melt. “Nothing let’s just forget about it…he pulled away opening up the fridge once again.”
It was like a switch was flipped. How he went right back to that cold shoulder he had been giving you all week. “You're a fucking asshole” You spewed, already ready to walk out of the kitchen. “Where are you going?” He abruptly spoke again. “The boardwalk…you know? so I won’t annoy you here.” With that, you left a confused and remorseful Steven behind.
~
“Hey, look y/n why don’t you go get a lemonade?” Belly suggested with an eyebrow raise. Shit. you were hoping they forgot about that. “Guys I don’t feel up for this..” You pouted looking between both Taylor and Belly. “Noooo go talk to him! you look hot as fuck.” Taylor gently grabbed your face giving you a mini pep talk.
“What if Xavier wants to hang out..I cant just ditch you guys?!?” You were stalling and they knew it. “We’ll be here waiting for you” Belly smiled. “Just try to have fun alright? But hey if you don’t really want to do it …we’ll back off” She narrowed her eyes at Taylor. “No…I’ll go” You laughed giving both of them a hug “Thank you guys.i really appreciate this.” You’d definitely still be moping around in your room about Steven if it wasn’t for Belly and Taylor. They both wished you luck as you headed straight for the lemonade stand.
As soon as he spotted you. The biggest smile spread across his face. “y/n? damn, it’s been so long” Xavier greeted you with a hug. “It’s only been a year!” You playfully ruffled his curly hair that sat atop his head. “That’s way too long…I enjoy seeing pretty girls year-round.” He spoke smoothly, he definitely knew how to talk to girls. “Shut up” You laughed pushing him away with not that much force.
“I have an hour lunch break…you up for arcade games?”
~
“So…you seeing anyone?” Xavier asked as he ate a scoop of his mint chocolate chip ice cream. You thought about it for a moment. Technically no you weren’t seeing anyone. But you knew you were still hung up on Steven. A day at the boardwalk with Xavier wouldn’t change that. “It’s complicated…I guess” Xavier sighed “I've been there…it’s rough” You nodded you were curious as to what he meant but you didn’t want to be nosey.
“Hey, look they have street fighter..” Xavier smirked. “Want to go a couple of rounds?” You nodded immediately pulling him towards the game. “Mhhm loser buys the winner a funnel cake!” You suggested with a chuckle. “Ouuu im so down y/n” Xavier squeezed your hand that held his quickly striding towards the arcade game.
Just two more steps, Just two more steps and you’d be fine. The rowdy yelling completely threw you off. You stopped in place looking behind you where the voices were coming from. You had no time to move out of the way, no time to prevent this from happening. No time to stop the trio of boys that you knew all too well. Suddenly a body collided with Xavier, the force immediately making your intertwined hands lose. “Dude, what the fuck?” Xavier groaned. It was then that you snapped back into reality. Eyes wide when you noticed Xavier’s ice cream now all over his shirt.
“What’s up? how are we doing?” That voice full of humor made you scoff. Steven stood tall a smile on his face. You hated that it kind of made your heart flutter. “Steven, what is your problem?” You gestured towards Xavier’s now ice cream stained shirt. “He’ll be fine y/n it’ll wash out.” Steven laughed, but once he noticed you didn’t find this funny at all he frowned. “I’m sorry man, I just came over to say what’s up..” You ignored Steven’s apology not believing he meant it. “Hey want me to help you get cleaned up?” You asked Xavier voice full of concern.
“No.I got it…I’ll see y’all later.” Xavier spoke nonchalantly as he walked away. When he was out of eyesight you brushed past steven heading out the door.
“Y/n” Steven immediately followed behind you. His long legs make it easier for him to catch up with you. “You embarrassed me” You stopped outside the arcade, letting him pull you to the side. “Embarrassed? sorry to interrupt your little date” Steven scoffed. “It's not a date we were just hanging out, why do you care?” You groaned running your hands down your face. “Maybe because just yesterday you were supposed to hang out with me?” Steven spoke definitively.
“Oh my god, just earlier you agreed to forget about it,” you said with an eye roll. “It was dumb, stop acting like you care just go home Steven I did you a favor.” He shook his head “What are you talking about right now?” Steven pulled you in closer, one of his hands placed on your waist. The other coming to the side of your face, willing you to look at him.
“I heard you.i heard everything,” you spoke up voice hoarse. Steven’s heart carried pain at the tears that stood brimming in your eyes. The realization was clear when he made the connection. “And you know..who cares what Jeremiah and Conrad think! what hurt the most was you.” You shrieked. You hated that you were crying in front of him. You hated that when he hauled you against his chest you felt secure.
“I'm sorry baby... I'm sorry” Steven sounded voice vulnerable. Leaving kisses atop your head. “Why would you say that?” you sobbed breaking down in front of the boy who caused it. “I didn't mean any of it” Steven brought your face between his hands once again. “But you said it..it still fucking hurts Steven.”
You wiped your face getting prepared to pull away and walk back home.
“Wait, please let me talk to you.” Steven begged. “okay” you replied being prepared to cry all over again. “My head has been all fucked up..and that isn't an excuse I know” Steven looked down as if he couldn't construct the next words. “Please don't shut me out.” you pleaded gently. “I want you...i have all this time.” Steve confessed for the first time.
“—And I didn't want to fuck anything up we've..been so close all our lives if I ever messed that up I would never forgive myself.” It's as if you were dreaming, the boy you loved stood in front of you disclosing his feelings for you. “And what? this whole week of you acting cold towards me, were you trying to avoid your feelings?” Steven bobbed his head “Yes, if I lied to myself it would make lying to everyone else easier because the fucking truth is I want you so bad” You didn't tell him but at that moment you forgave him.
“And you called me the annoying one?” You giggled pushing on his chest gently. “Right now we could have been making out on the beach….but noo you had to be a brooding boy” Steven tickled your side, causing you to squirm in his arms. “Yeah, my fault can I kiss you now? been practically wanting to my whole life.” Steven threw his head back fake pouting setting one hand over his chest. You figured you'd throw his words right back at him. “You're so desperately desperate”
Steven smirked “Yeah for you? I am” Those words welcomed a whole lot of beautiful feelings. At that moment is when Steven bent down bringing his lips down onto your own. As your lips moved together, butterflies erupted in your belly. You smiled against his lips when you both needed a breath. “Hey, by the way, your not off the hook.. I'm still sort of pissed at you.” You declared pointing a finger into his chest.
“Yeah, I figured” He laughed wrapping his arms even tighter around you. “How about I make it up to you this whole week? I'm taking you out on dates…ill even get on my knees if I have to. I'm going to follow you around like a puppy.” Steven rambled on. You laughed out loud covering your mouth with your hands. “Oh, it's funny?” Steven raised an eyebrow suggestively. “Yeah, you're such a loser.” You joked.
Before Steven could respond you tugged him into another kiss. Perhaps everything wasn't one hundred percent fixed. But you and Steven were finally here together. You and Steven were finally in each other's arms that's all that mattered. You’d figure out the rest together.

"why did you post my cake?" the girl pouted, nearly shouting over the facetime call as lando laughed in response. "it was gonna be a surprise!"
"you made cake?" arthur walked into the kitchen, smiling at the sprinkles covered cake and then addi. "who are you talking to?"
"I did, you want some?" she smiled and started looking for a knife after the taller nods, "i'm talking to lando,"
"bonjour!" lando speaks loudly, greeting the youngest leclerc brother. arthur's smile fades a little bit, but he puts it back on as he walked next to the girl and greets the driver on the other side of the call. addi starts cutting the cake, squealing as sprinkles start falling out of the middle.
"hold on lando, i'm gonna take a picture." she clappings before grabbing her phone from the counter and going on instagram to post her masterpiece on her story. "here, artie!" the taller boy smiles and takes the cake, "will i die from this?" he asks, hearing the brit laugh from the phone speakers.
addi rolls her eyes and sets her phone back up to face arthur, "eat it." lando and her watch as arthur takes a bite before he makes a questionable face. "interesting."
lando bursts out into laughter once more, nearly wheezing as addi sits there with a frown. "it's not bad, it's just too much sugar, amor." he clarifies.
after the cake is put away in plastic wrap and lando hangs up the facetime call to go stream on twitch, arthur and addi sit at the island and talk about nonsense for a while. part of arthur wants to scream out everything he feels. and part of addi wants to ask him everything he feels.
ever since the whole pierre situation, things just haven't been the same. arthur's clueless as to why, he wasn't sure what could be going on between his best friend and pierre to make her act this way. he tried asking the older frenchman about it, but he was shut down, he even tried asking his own brother about it, but he got the same result. he's asked just about everyone that could have a clue as to what happened that afternoon, except addi herself.
it took some courage in him to finally come out with it, "so, what happened that day with you and pierre? you never told me?" she froze. her eyes glued to her shoes as she tried to come up with an excuse as to why she couldn't tell him. but she couldn't. "addi?"
"pierre and i kissed, like... over a year ago now." she blurted out seeing his face change into an expression that she could only describe as confused with a hint shocked. she felt like throwing up right there. "we never talked about it, but i grew feeling for him, until i saw him kissing another girl. it's really no big deal now, we've clearly gotten over each other, and he didn't really know i had any actual feeling for him back then."
arthur was confused, why would this change how she acts around him? why would they need to talk about it over a year later? how can they still be so comfortable around each other after that?
"so... when he was explaining why he did it... he told me something..." she looked up at him, meeting his eyes for the first time in weeks, he was waiting for her to continue, he needed to know. "he said that you had feelings for me."
arthur couldn't say anything, or at least he felt like he couldn't. he felt sick, as if he would vomit if he were to open his mouth to speak. pierre told her that? he said he wouldn't tell a soul. "i'm sorry."
"why are you sorry?" she whispered, they're in the house alone with charles, everyone else was out doing some shopping or winter activities, and charles is going to know the details in a couple hours anyway. so whispering is useless. but it seemed like it was more out of comfort from the girl.
"i didn't want you to find out."
the worry of losing a friend is one thing, but the worry of losing a friend that is considered family, that's another story. there's so many things arthur did in order to avoid his feelings, he even tried dating. nothing worked. addilyn was still... perfect. he could point out every little feature, every little habit she had, and no matter how weird or ugly she thought they were, he loves them.
the silence leaves ringing in their ears, what are they supposed to say now? "i..." addi starts off, trying to find words to comprehend the mess that's going on in her brain, "i don't know what to say, honestly."
the taller nodded, understanding that the situation is bigger than any other normal circumstance. "i love you, arthur, but..." god not the 'but.' "i'm not sure how i feel about you... like that."
he looks at her confused, not sure? what does she mean not sure? "i don't understand?"
she breathes out a sigh, taking his hand in hers. "i have a lot going on right now-"
"i know."
"-and i'm not sure if focusing on anything but racing is what i need right now." she has a lot of feelings going on, she's not sure what they mean or even if they're real or some type of illusion. she's not about to risk anything on illusions. "i don't expect you to." he shook his head.
"i know, and i appreciate that." she cradled his hand in both of her palms, rubbing her thumb against his skin. "it's not that there aren't any feelings there, there's... something. i'm just... i'm not sure what they are yet. and i'm worried if i spend too much time thinking about it then everything will get screwed up."
"it's okay," he pulled his hand away, making her heart drop, "i understand." he stand up from the barstool, kisses her head, and then leaves the kitchen without another word.
addi stays seated, her elbow on the counter while her hands support her head. 'idiot, idiot, idiot' she repeated in her head. "well, that was interesting." the girl was started by the sudden voice next to her, charles.
"the fuck, when did you get here?"
"eh, little while ago, i saw... that." charles raise his eyebrows at the girl before sitting where his younger brother was only a few seconds prior. "don't blame yourself."
"how could i not?" she scoffed, laying her head down on the marble counter, "i feel like i just ruined everything."
the monegasque sighed and rubbed the girl head, "no, you didn't. it'll take time but things will go back to how they were. you did the right thing, you were honest."
"not completely honest." she mumbled, watching his face turn into confusion. she sits up, sighs, and looks him in the eye, "i think i like lando."
a/n: i heart love triangles.

WIBTA if I put a sign near my home?
I'm honestly not sure how to title this, but this is what makes the most sense.
Let's start with some background. Me, my husband, and my roommate (all of us are late 20s M) have been stalked by someone online and in person for over a year now, let's call him Xavier. It all started when he was in a pretty nasty breakup, and we hung out with him for about a month and a half to give him support and help him out when needed it. However, he kept asking us to stalk his ex, triggered my husband on multiple occasions after asking him to stop, kept making fun of my roommates appearance, was really mean to my animals, among many other things that I don't really want to get into. I kept justifying his behavior to myself thinking that he was just going through a rough time and needed help, I even talked to him in person on numerous occasions about how he needed to cut it out, but eventually enough was enough.
After about a month of him coming over on weekends, we reached out to Xavier's ex to talk to him, see what was going on and get his side of the story ya know? We told him of all the things we collectively said about him, and apologized for everything since we only had Xavier's info to rely on, and we've been hanging out with his ex ever since because he's a fun guy to be around. We cut Xavier off before we started hanging with his ex, and now we hang out with him at least every two weeks bc again, he's really fun to be around. But Xavier refuses to leave all of us alone. I've warned my friends about him since they've seen Xavier around occasionally, warning them casually in like a "here's what happened to me, just keep an eye out for him, but I'm not gonna stop you if you want to be friends" kind of way.
It just kept getting worse with Xavier, he even shared the small town we live in online when his ex posted a photo of us hanging out, and it feels like he's waiting for any reason to doxx our home. We've even spotted his car around the town we live in, and driving by our house on a few occasions.
Now, Xavier has a fairly large online following, like some thousands of followers, and loves detailing every little aspect of his life online. I was on and off friends with him before he gained a following, but then noticed he got super egotistical and acted as an authority figure on any matter that doesn't involve him. He often talks about me and my husband's life, if we have friends over, or parties, or whatever we might have going on. We have not hung out with him in over a YEAR as well, and he continues to post things about our lives. Reporting his accounts have done nothing (except for getting one account getting taken down on a brand new social media), and I'm unable to involve authorities at this point (and would like to avoid them altogether if possible) because of a lack of proof and not being in "immediate danger".
So here's my question! WIBTA if I put a sign near my house that says " Xavier Sucks "?
My reasoning is, since he posts everything online, he'd definitely take a picture of it and post it, basically telling on himself. There's absolutely no way he wouldn't, he loves being enraged online nowadays. It provides enough proof that he is actively stalking our home, and hopefully loses his accounts so I can finally be free of this. I feel like an asshole especially because of how angry I've been, and since this would give me the confidence to "call him out". I'm also being really bitter and want no trace of his accounts anywhere, and I believe him to be too much of a coward to do anything directly to me or my family in person. I'm just so tired of this and want to be left alone, and really don't know what to do otherwise. So, I'm coming to random strangers on the internet to tell me if I'm an asshole!
What are these acronyms?

So some times ago i posted here the start for my antivillain au fic, today I continued it a little, i am not sure if I will leave it like this when and if I post it on ao3, actually i think this is where i should stop the first chapter, i think it is a good point but I wanted to do longer chapters and this is kinda short(1268 words).
This aside please if you want read this and comment or give me tips or insult me I don't know
“remember to eat at least four times a day”.
“yes chloe”
“and to drink lot of water”
“yes chloe”
“and if roger says anything stupid to you just call me, i will give him a piece of my mind”
Sabrina smiled sadly, eyes blinking quickly to avoid shedding tears before throwing herself against Chloe to hug tightly her best friends,  “thanks Chloe” she hiccuped sometimes before stating,”I will be very lonely while you are away…”.
Chloe's heart clenched painfully hearing the sadness in her voice and once again cursed herself for not having been able to skip the family trip, but right now Sabrina was the priority.
She hugged her friend back and started drawing circles in her back to help calm her down, in other circumstances she wouldn't do that in public, especially where her family could see them, but now it wasn't important for her.
“Hey Brina, don't worry, it's just for a month and you can call me anytime, no matter the time or how many times a day” Chloe stated while kissing her friend's forehead, not caring that tears and snots were ruining her clothes.
Sabrina just continued to cry, not letting go of Chloe when Chloe had an idea.
“Hey Brina, why don't you try to hang out with our classmate while I'm gone? i am sure that adrien would be happy to do it if he is free, Alix too and ugh dupain-cheng would immediately throw you some kind of party with the whole class, this way you wont feels as lonely”
That made Sabrina pause a little, enough to stop the tears at least, as she moved her head slightly to look at her friend's face while still resting her chin against Chloe's chest.
“it wouldn't be the same, they aren't like you….” she said that but Chloe could see in her eyes that her friends were still thinking about it.
“Of course they aren't like me, nobody is even near my level of perfection, beauty, confidence and humility,” she said with a smile on her face.
It made Sabrina laugh, initially it was just a smile, then a chuckle but after that she had to use Chloe for support while she bends over laughing.
Chloe gave her a playful shove, “what's so funny? i am only saying the truth”
Sabrina pulled herself together after a good minute, still smiling widely and while clearing her face with her sleeves she simply said,”yes, you are”, and Chloe felt her eyes watering a little.
“CLAUDIA!!! what taking you so long! come here immediately or we are leaving you here!” audrey yelled from the base of the plane, a public one, andre didn't want to use a private jet so near to the next elections, something about complains about the environment or social classes, chloe doesn't really know, she didn't listened to his explanation just like she did not listened to audreys loud and useless complains.
Chloe frowned a little at the name but also rolled her eyes, “if only she could actually do it” she said with a sigh.
she kissed the red head one last time on the forehead, “give it a try Brina, you got nothing to lose” she then added with a soft smile,” i will be back before you say supercalifragilisticexpialidocious”
Sabrina tried to repeat the word but fumbled on the second sillabe, she blushed a little but gave Chloe her goodbyes anyway.
Sabrina goes back to her father, who is waiting for her inside the airport while Chloe turns her back and hastily takes a few tissues from her bag to clean herself before Audrey can notice and complain about her getting dirty while she walk inside the plane.
Thankfully that woman didn’t seem to notice or care about Chloe's appearance once she got inside.
so she just get to her seat and put her violin case in its spot and sit, dropping her bag one her legs.
she rest her head against the seat while taking a deep sigh
“ehm…hi chloe” chloe just glances to her side, to the seat next to hers, and just sees the nervous and fidgeting figure of her step-sister or how she likes to call her “the liar”.
“hello” she deadpans
Her very unenthusiastic reply seemed to only increase Zoe's discomfort and nervousness until she went completely silent but kept fidgeting with her hands.
Chloe glared at her and she finally stopped moving.
A few minutes later the plane took off and Chloe was really really glad her parents were on the other side a few seats away, she doesn't think she can stand being near her mother for so long.
if only the liar would stop moving so much…..
“god zoe, why are you so fucking nervous!” she stated, pointing her index finger at her.
That seemed to do the trick since she went completely still. but Chloe just stared at her until she finally opened her mouth to answer.
“You and Sabrina are really close” she blurted out and Chloe had to take a moment to process what she said since she didn’t expect that answer.
she eyed her cautiously but agreed,” yeah we are, ever since we were three”
“oh” was all the damn liar said and Chloe could feel her blood rushing a little faster as she clenched her hands on the armrests of the chair.
she glared at her, “you are avoiding the question” she declared, already frustrated.
This made her look away and Chloe had half a mind to hit her but after a couple of deep breaths she looked back at her and said, “it’s….” She paused and looked away again, her eyes darting everywhere in the plane besides Chloe but finally she continued, still looking away from her and her eyes blinking rapidly, “it’s my father….i..i don’t know if i am ready to see him again….”
Chloe's eyes softened a little at that, “ how is he? Audrey's level of asshole or Andre's level?”
“Andre isn’t so bad” Zoe immediately defended him.
Chloe just rolled her eyes and prompted her to answer the question with a not so gentle elbow to her side.
“hey!” she complained but after seeing chloe’s glare answered the question, “ he isn’t as bad as audrey…..i think, i-i never really saw him very much” Chloe could relate to that but said nothing.
“ He just dropped me off at that boarding school. full of snob, rich brats as soon as he could…... .the only memories of him that i have are those of my childhood but…”
“ There isn't much even there right?” Chloe finished for her.
Zoe just looked up at her, “yes…”
Chloe took a long look at her…..sister and sighed, “you know you don’t have to see him right?”
the wide eyes she gave her made Chloe chuckle a little,” why are you so surprised? this trip is only because ANDRE wants to meet him, you or i can do whatever we want and just avoid him” she said smiling.
“Are you sure chloe?” she asked with such earnest and hopeful eyes that Chloe couldn’t resist the action to pet her head affectionately.
“yes, i am. and even if he shows i will just punch him in his shitty face” she said confidently, making her laugh.
Chloe smiled a little wider at the sounds, she looked just like Adrien a moment ago after all and Chloe would do everything to protect him.
but the moment passed and went away and Chloe spent the rest of the flight listening to music and ignoring The Liar.

From your Mixed-Bag Sentence Starters post: "No time to explain, get in!", but it's just DK taking Mario out for a date in a place where they wouldn't be disturbed.
(And maybe it ends with a make-out session because there is a sincere lack of Mariokong content in this fandom, and I'm starting to feel deprived-)
//aw-...dn't worry bb I got u. 𝐌𝐈𝐗𝐄𝐃-𝐁𝐀𝐆 𝐒𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐄 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐒
It wouldn't be a proper Kong hosted kart-race without some monkey business. Said business entailing that all racers made it their personal mission to see to it that their sole guest participant from the Mushroom Kingdom was thoroughly given enough attention at the event. Meaning - the point of the race shifted from anyone winning to just making sure Mario didn't. And honestly, DK was not about to interfere with that energy, though the thought of trying to win the race instead of watch the ah..."festivities" going on along the track was definitely his lowest priority over the latter.
By the time Mario had been bashed a few times by fellow karts, and even trapped between two for a while to help guide him into some banana peels along the track on purpose, it was soon all over for the other when his kart came to a puttering halt...tires too gummed up from countless banana peels to continue without a pit stop. But seeing as how Mario had relinquished himself to resting his chin heavily into an open glove and grumbling to himself about 'fatherless monkeys' in Italian, it was evident he would be tapping out of the race early and hiking back to town along the dusty track.
Well, until DK rolled up and happily slammed on his brakes to slide a donut around Mario's banana-beached kart to churn up some dust around the plumber and leave him coughing and swatting the air to clear it faster. A glower followed. "DK! C'mon, I'm not even racing anymore. No thanks to YOUR buddies-"
"Heh! What can I say...they don't like outsiders winning our competitions." With a smug expression that only served to rub salt in the wound further, DK leans back in his kart, one hand poised cockily on the wheel. "Now that you're out, they can finally start having some fun!"
"Well good!" Mario spat back, already trying to untangle himself from his seatbelt as he worked on making a hasty retreat from the vehicle in case the racers looped around and decided he was still a ramp to try and launch off of. "Why don't you go and JOIN them then?"
The smirk DK wore slid into more of a smile, though still heavily smitten with amusement as he watched the other struggle to free himself. The way that Mario tried to hoist a leg over the door only to catch his ankle on the way over and flop down onto his hip only caused the Kong to chuckle. His kart tires shifted slightly in the dirt as it creeped forward and sidled up beside Mario now struggling to stand quickly and dust off his knees while his cheeks burned the same color as his outfit.
"Awh, aren't you just a ball of sunshine today~? Ehh, I don't need to hang with those nerds. Besides, I'm gonna lose too many laps to win now that I gotta kart your ass down the mountain." He added, waiting to see if Mario even heard him since the plumber was already trying to set off on his own down the track towards the moon where it lay in the sky waiting for dark to fall further.
Pausing momentarily once the slew of Italian curses in his brain had died down, Mario glanced over his shoulder to question the Kong with a quirked brow.
DK merely waved the other over while expelling an impatient sigh. "No time to explain...just get in!"
The ride down the mountain was a bit rough given DK's customization on his kart this go round, and he wasn't trying to hide that by purposefully hitting every bump in the road and swerving unnecessarily as if he were trying to come up with the best way to launch Mario out of the kart.
Mario simply busied himself with white knuckling the dash board and muttering under his breath in Italian about really not wanting to die today. With his eyes screwed shut, he didn't notice the sudden turn DK took off the main track, nor the sudden drop earned from driving casually off a cliff and dropping into a parachute glide towards a glittering glade below.
The landing is a watery one, but the flooded glade itself is at most ankle-deep. Once he'd turned the kart off and hopped out to a wet landing on his feet, DK snorted when he noticed Mario was still death clutching the kart, face frozen in a grimace and eyes screwed shut.
"Careful, your face'll stick like that." DK grinned, sidling around the kart until he could give Mario's hat a pop forward to knock it into his eyes. "C'mon, loser. We're here."
It was only after he had to straighten his hat out did Mario stir, seemingly taking his first breath since they'd first hit a turn too hard and sputtering through it. "You're nuts! I thought you were supposed to be dropping me off, not drOPPING me-ah off a mountain side?!" Shifting his frustration towards the slowly retreating Kong, Mario can't help but blink and look around at the area. "This isn't-...uh."
The glade is flooded with shallow waters, and ripples are left behind DK's feet and fist as he sloshed forward and turned to give Mario a raised brow. "You coming, or what?"
"...coming to what?" Mario grumbled, throwing himself up over the kart and thankfully not landing on his face this time. Though his knees hit the shallow water briefly before rose and stumbled over to the Kong's side. "This isn't the place we all started in, if you didn't notice."
A snort and a head shake later, DK doesn't spare the other's proddings a glance as he heads towards the center of the large, watery circle in the middle of the forest. "Whaaat? I had no idea. Thanks for telling me where things are in my own damned kingdom." He added, stopping after a moment when they'd made it more to the center of the glade when they were equal distance from every wall of trees in the distance, which was oddly far - perhaps a half mile of nothingness but the subtle shine of the water in the developing moonlight. "Heh. Can't you just chill for a minute? I was gonna show you a reason to come out here some time."
"Hmm?" Expression flustered out of annoyance for the Jungle Kingdom prince's persistence in poking fun at his expense, Mario couldn't help but feel a bit curious about the random bog they seemed to be sloshing around in. "A reason to come out to some wet nothingness and stand around in the dark?"
"I mean...I wouldn't be against that either." DK joked, though he pushed its authenticity by reaching out to scoot a large paw behind the other's lower back and drag him in close to the Kong's side. Once in place, DK rose onto his hind legs and waited.
"U-uh?" Mario questioned the action, eyes swiveling from DK to behind his shoulder where the other's palm rested against his back. A gloved hand rises to cup his own cheek again and lean into it, sighing. "You're always so difficult, you know?"
"Walking back and waiting in the kart is like the least difficult thing you've had to do today. But I guess you're too curious to do that, huh?" DK knew he was right too when Mario's core temperature seemed to rise a degree or two under his palm. Which wasn't the worst thing for the flare up of racer's wrist he had going on and now had a willing participant to stand there while he ground his wrist in place against rough denim.
"Maybe not..." Mario changed his mind with a shrug, though to what, DK couldn't be sure.
"Come again?" He pushed, glancing down and finding it hard to see much of the other except the sheen from his eyes pouring through the deepening night.
"Well-" He was cut off by a sudden intrusion of lights - each a shade of pink or soft purple lighting up one by one around them and spreading out across the barren landscape only to show it wasn't as barren as he thought in the dark. For the half mile all around them, water lillies bloomed and their petals seemed to almost absorb the moonlight above until they radiated a portion themselves, dying it the color of their petals. "Wow-...there's so many."
DK nodded, somewhat smug the other seemed so impressed that he'd even forgotten to relay his earlier comment. Not that DK was going to let him. "-hey. You were saying?" Now able to see his company a little clearer thanks to the field of flower lights, DK leaned down to hear better, his tie's end draping until it tickled the back of Mario's neck.
With a swat or two that turned into a half-hearted grab and squeeze of the cloth, Mario sighed and tilted his head up to regard the Kong with one eye open, though its shade under the soft pink and purple hues almost seemed a shade of lavender than blue. "...I just meant that-...you know!" Frustrated, he squished his feet up and down in the flooded ground, he finally opted for pressing his cheek into his gloved hand again - this time with the DK imprinted end of the tie included. "...'the easiest thing'? It's...being out here with you."
DK had already turned his attention down and reddened noting the fate of his tie. Though instead of wresting it back and give a warning growl, he decided he was fine with the arrangement for now. Well, until he realized he could lean his head back and slowly lift Mario off his feet as long as the other held on to the tie.
A little 'hup' from Mario and a surprised kick towards the ground that once held him was his last duty for standing that night as far as DK was concerned as the Kong took a moment to balance large hands beneath the other's hamstrings and then scooted him up against his chest to rest in place. Though there was little resting at first when DK took the moment to lean in and grumble. "...I'm 'easy', huh?"
Tumblr media
"Oh come on-...not what I meant!" Mario protested only to soon find his face pressed close to DK's while the Kong prince smiled briefly before pressing in to pass it to Mario's mouth. Well - his mustache first since it was in the way.
Tumblr media
For the moment they remain locked together, DK only moved to hike the other up higher when he felt Mario's gloves gripping at the fur along the back of his neck and hanging on tight, and only slid his tongue forward to meet the breathy exhale Mario emitted, mid-break in contact that left them both a second for air before their mouths began a round of crashing quietly together as the distant sounds of karts crashing continued on into the night.

Blurb #34
I'm going to try to share 70 blurbs from my WIPs and unfinished fics to celebrate reaching 70 posted fics! To help with this endeavor, please feel free to send me a word or a fandom you know I write for, and I'll share the blurb. IDK if I'll get 70 prompts, but let's try it! Send as many as you want!
Robin got to his feet. Cyborg was right. This alien was tough, and his kicks weren’t doing enough. He crept around the room, avoiding the creature as the other Titans kept it occupied, then he ran to the cocoon.
“Starfire! Starfire, can you hear me?”
There was only a soft sigh from inside.
“Hang on, I’ll get you out!” He took out a birdarang and started to chip at the cocoon.
“No!” Cried the alien. “You’ll ruin it! You don’t know what you’re doing!”
Well, if the thing that was trying to eat Starfire was angry with what he was doing, then he was probably doing the right thing. He continued to chip away, careful not to stab too deep and hurt Starfire.
Finally, it felt like he broke through, and he dug his fingers in the crack to try to pull it open. It was dark inside, and he couldn’t see Starfire.
“Stop! Stop it!” The alien protested, more frantically. Cyborg knocked it back everytime it started going for its prey.
With a huge crack, the cocoon broke down the middle, and Robin reached in, looking for Starfire. A green, goopy hand wrapped around his arm, and started pulling him in.
“Starfire, wait!” He yelled at her, trying to pull away.
Another hand grabbed the back of his neck and yanked, pulling him off balance. He landed with a splat in the center of the crack.
“Robin!” Cyborg called out, after seeing things were not going well.
Thick ropey green webs overtook his body, and quickly pulled him inside the cocoon, despite his fighting and screaming. “Let me go!”
The crack that Robin had made shifted and grew taller. Then it folded over itself, swallowing Robin up.
“No!” Said the alien, throwing Beast Boy into a wall. “Look what you’ve done! You’ve ruined her! My perfect meal!”
“Good,” said Raven, snarling. She wrapped the creature up tightly in webbing from the cave, just that only its head was sticking out. “Now start talking. What did you do to Starfire?”
The alien wriggled, but couldn’t quite break free. “I did nothing to the Tamaranean!”
“Liar!” Beast Boy yelled. “She was all weird looking! She had big feet and scales and ears and—!”
“She is simply going through the Transformation,” the alien hissed. “A perfectly natural part of her lifecycle. I did not instigate this!”
“Wait a second…Starfire’s going through alien puberty?” Cyborg asked, wide eyed and embarrassed.
“That’s certainly what it sounded like,” Raven droned.
“But then Robin—” Beast Boy pointed to the cocoon.
“The colorful one has tampered with the Chrysalis. He has tainted her!”
“Uh, what does that mean?”
“It means that you all have cost me my meal for this year, and I shall have to feast upon you instead!” And it finally broke free from its bindings and the fight began again.
Raven got the medal for MVP at the end. When she finally got pissed enough to launch the alien out of the cavern, it was over.
The three remaining Titans assembled around the cocoon.
“So, what do we do?” Beast Boy asked.
“I don’t think we should even touch it,” said Cyborg. “Unless we all get pulled in. Raven, can you levitate it up to the ship?”
“On it.” She created a platform under the cocoon and started floating it up the way they came.

Break Me Slowly|Part 18|Yandere Levi x Evelyn
Tumblr media
(A/N: Part 18 let's goooo! I don't know if I mentioned before but figuring out the pacing on this has been roughhhhh, I haven't seen the finale yet because I want to hear Levi's voice only in dub, so I'm debating just watching it in sub for the sake of the story or to wait until dub and get the best experience with the end of the show. Once we get closer to the end of where the show leaves off I'll decide but just so everyone knows this won't end where the show does but a bit after :3 BTW, if anyone wants to be on the taglist for this reply to this post and I'll add you! And don't forget to put your suggestions for hitting 100 followers either in my inbox or in the replies of the 100 followers post!)
WARNINGS: noncon, dubcon, manipulation, domestic abuse, yandere themes, forced marriage, forced pregnancy, stockholm syndrome, violence, mind breaking, misogyny, vaguely implied suicide, etc.

Erwin and Hange stare at Evelyn. a mixture of shock and disgust coming over their features.
"Hange, Erwin." She says flatly in greeting.
"How could you Evelyn- You're with them?" Hange grits her teeth but clearly is on the edge of tears.
She stays silent, in truth, she had nothing to say. A small part of her felt bad for helping cause all of this, but she justified it since they turned their backs on her first.
"Well? Aren't you going to give some pathetic excuse to defend yourself of all these disgusting actions?" Erwin was no where near as moved as Hange was, he was clearly upset he had been caught and the person he fucked over was roaming free.
"I could say the same for you Commander. What's the matter? Upset your sins have caught up to you? Does it not haunt you at night that you left a unsuspecting woman to the cruelty of a monster? You knew what Levi was like, you fucking knew it and then you covered up for him. Do you feel no remorse for that?"
Erwin stares her down coldly, he and Levi were a lot alike, they both despised having their faults be pointed out by anyone. They both believed that they were perfection incarnate and everyone else was lesser than to be stepped on as needed.
Hange speaks instead. "Evelyn please, I know you went through some shit so your brain isn't all there, but that isn't excuse for all of this. You've deluded yourself so far thinking that Levi is this evil monster in your head but he's not, remember how he was?"
"Oh please Hange, don't be so naive to believe whatever Levi shovels into your mouth. He's always been this way, you've just bought into it like I did. He's a monster. The scum of the earth, just like Commander Erwin here. Isn't that right?"
Erwin's jaw is clenched in anger. "All you'll ever be is scum from the Underground who thought she was somebody because Levi had a crush."
She reaches out and slaps him hard across the face, pent up anger at him, at Levi, at this whole system where reputation and money was what bought you belief, all of it coming out at once. She hadn't had a place for all of this built up rage, and it felt good to get it out. Maybe she even understood where Levi was coming from a bit.
"Feel better now?" He continued. "The only reason you got to where you are is because Levi wanted to sleep with you. He saved you from certain death many times, sure you have some skill, but without him on your back you would have been just another "fallen hero" everyone would forget about. The amount of men that have died because he chose to save you over them is what made me turn a blind eye to this make believe victimhood you've placed yourself in."
"You're saying I'm just playing the victim? For what? What could I possibly hope to gain?" Tears threatened to spill over onto her cheeks.
"Who knows? And excuse for divorce so you can take half of what he has? Maybe you thought you wanted something but the pressures of marriage are too much for you so you're running away. All you do is run away."
Indignation flared inside her, she could tell by his expression he was just putting on a speech and show so that Hange and those around would buy into the lie Levi sold that she had just made herself an imaginary victim. He knew the truth, Levi knew the truth, they both just had a name to throw behind a claim that everyone believed.
"I hate you." She spits out, the tears spilling over.
"Please don't cry, I hate to see women cry."
She wanted to see him dead, she wished that the previous king, no matter how fake, had hung this son of a bitch from the highest point so that everyone could see his rotting body. But that would come, eventually, she had promised Eren she'd be patient and follow his lead when it came to vengeance. He would take care of it for her, she just had to follow along where needed, then everything would be okay.
"Get these two out of here, make sure they're ready to leave."
"Leave? Where are we going?" Hange tried to keep the small twinge of fear out of her voice.
Evelyn took a deep breath and composed herself, subtly wiping away those aggravating tears. "If everything went well, Levi should be nothing more than a rotting corpse by now."
Both of their eyes went wide, slightly stunned.
"That's right. Eren, Zeke, they set a trap for him. Now we're going to make sure he's dead, I would have stayed with him but I wanted to make sure we all got to see the carnage together. You don't mind coming do you?"
They say nothing, following as they're dragged along.
===========================================
The search for the remains of Levi was extensive and long, each moment increasing Evelyn's anxiety. What if Zeke's plan didn't work? What if Levi was waiting for her, ready to pounce the moment she showed her face? There was no possible way that he could have survived all of that, but this was Levi, he was a demon, no matter what was thrown his way he always survived.
This would be different. He was dead, she was safe, her fear would dissipate when she saw his body for herself. She would truly be free once she knew, gone from his oppression and free to do everything she wanted.
Their group returned to the forest, why Evelyn had left in the first place was to distance herself from the carnage. Guilt still ate at her, she had needed to put some kind of barrier between them so she felt better. Confirmation of his death would make the guilt leave completely, she was sure.
==============================================
A trail of wreckage dragged through the entire forest, slaughtered Titans were nothing but bones now, vaporizing with a cloud of steam.
No trace of Levi could be found, the stirring fears making her palms sweaty and her heart beat out of her chest. Even though Hange and Erwin seemed just as worried as she, Evelyn could bet that they were worried for a much different reason.
"Over there!" Someone shouted.
The group followed the direction the soldier was pointing, finding the charred boards that looked like it belonged to a small cart.
Zeke was no where to be found, Levi was no where to be found, it was empty.
"Where could he have gone?" Floch asked, slightly annoyed because he was still in the rain.
"The riverbank, look-!"
Evelyn was first, pushing past everyone else. She had to know what had become of her husband.
Erwin and Hange were close behind, hoping beyond hope that their friend was still alive.
His body was burned, shards of blade sticking out from his body and face. His fingers were gone, he was utterly still.
The other two were just as frozen as she, unable to believe what they were seeing. To them, their beloved comrade was gone.
To Evelyn, she was free.

Thanks for the fanfic ask game qs, now it's your turn! :D
I hope these aren't too many qs, but I'd love to know your thoughts:
C, K, M, S, T, V, Y
Thank you :)
Yay! Thanks so much for asking! So excited to answer these questions 😍🙏🏼🎉
The full (very long - sorry!) answer to be found below the cut! 😁
C: What character do you identify with most?
Oooh that's a tricky question... I think I can't boil it down to just one character but a blend of characters? I think the characters I tend to stan and ship are a good indicator bc I usually fixate most on ships and characters that somehow speak to me or that I relate to.
For example with XueXiao, I really identify with Xiao Xingchen in the way that he is kind and helpful to others and follows this ideal of wanting to make the world a better place and leaving the mountain for that, aka a place he could stay placid and content in, to instead do something about the injustices he knows about in the "real world", even if that means facing hardships and pain and struggles.
As for Xue Yang, I really relate to him and see him as my deepest darkest side if I could throw my morality over board. I am someone who whole-heartedly proclaims "eat the rich" and means it, so if I was any more like Xue Yang in the way not to give a fuck, I'd also just kill the people that hurt me or others and go unhinged... 😅🙈 Slight difference between us being I would not kill indiscriminately and for the fun of it or for the slightest offense but really only target corrupt rich people and super capitalists and fascists that have it coming for them 🤭
K: What's the angstiest idea you've ever come up with?
I really don't want to spoil anything, but it has to do with an alternative chapter / ending I came up with for my LiuJiu A/B/O fic. I love happy endings as much as the next fanfic reader but sometimes I just want to make myself and others hurt. And this one will hopefully make my readers scream.
Also there's a XueXiao reincarnation fic WIP I can't wait to post. It's nearly finished and I wrote it while listening to Tom Odell's "Another Love" on repeat - which should give you enough of a vibe to imagine the angst level of this fic. I'll just say this much: unrequited love 🤭👍🏼
Sorry I can't be more specific but I really don't want to spoil anything more😅🙈
M: Got any premises on the back burner that you'd like to share?
Maybe it's because I'm too young to know that phrasing or maybe it's a native speaker thing but I had to google what this meant first and hope Google got it right 😅🤣
My WIP file is massive... To give you a glimpse: Next to the ones mentioned above I've also started:
- an angsty post-canon Beefleaf fic, where SQX is haunted by a hanging ghost and made to kill herself but HX intervenes and they start their journey of reconciling, don't know if I'll ever finish it...
- a VegasPete vampire / vampire hunter AU based on a Tumblr prompt and gif-set post but I'll very likely never continue that...
- a LiuJiu AU where SJ is present during the events of SVSSS and LQQ knows SY is an imposter and now tries to bring back SJ into his former body. This has angst and hurt written into every line. Sadly it's merely all in my head...
S: Any fandom tropes you can't resist?
Enemies to Lovers always hits! It's my jam!
Also the angstier the merrier! Hit me with the feels, the pain, the hurt, the agony! Doesn't even have to have a happy ending, I'm a sucker for being emotionally destroyed and also emotionally destroying my readers (though I tend to give them a happy ending at least) 😈🤣👍🏼
And, like you, omegaverse is my guilty pleasure - the smuttier the better 😏
And speaking of guilty pleasures I also have to say monster-fuck AUs are on the menu as well... There have been some really good SongXueXiao ones, I've read. Didn't know that was something I'd ever be into - my 14 year old self would probably be appalled. But here we are 🤣🤣
Soulmate and Fated Pair AUs are something I like to dig into as well.
And I'm also really into mermaid AUs. Especially when one is human and the fic gives off The Little Mermaid vibes.
T: Any fandom tropes you can't stand?
I don't know why but any modern day AUs especially High School AUs... I just can't read it. The most I will do is mob boss / mafia or reincarnation where they slowly uncover their past, but if canon events are set in modern times/contexts I don't really like it for some reason 😅
But I'm actually quite open to a lot of fics and it's mostly not the tropes I can't stand but characterisation or writing style 😅🙈
V: If you could write the sequel/prequel to any fanfic out there (not you own) which would it be?
Bruh... What a difficult question... I haven't ever thought about writing continuations or pre-quels for existing fic as I love them the way they are and mostly just in between imagine possible canon-divergences if the characters had made different choices...
But I guess, from the top of my head, I'd like to write a sequel to "Mark of Jasmine" to give LiuJiu an alternative or reincarnation happy ending because they've really been played in that one... 🙈😅
Y: A character you want to protect?
So many. All my little blorbos and meow meows. On the top of that list - obviously - Xue Yang. But I'd also step in front of my best bois Loki and Shen Jiu to shield them. They deserve so much better 💕😭
Now thanks again for the ask and for reading this long-ass reply, it was my pleasure 🤣

1/27 Early- Waffle Recap
Here we go again!!! I'm really trying to make a huge effort to write down at least some thoughts from all my shows now. The end is looming and feels imminent. One of my biggest regrets around the show is not writing down my thoughts and shows and feelings more. I've forgotten so many tiny moments over the last decade that once brought me sparks of happiness. I know the days is coming we can never go back and I don't want to forget anything. This show and space is so ingrained in my life and I want to hold onto what I can for as long as I can.
From here on out it's all or broke (and we will be broke by the time this show finally closes). We lined up in Oz's list because we are way too old now and time is short so we are springing for the VIP tickets. After heading to the ballroom and trying to figure out who had my interest, I kind of wandered around. I took a stroll through the 4th floor attempting to find something that sparked my attention. I really was having a bit of an aimless start and the witches were approaching so I made the decision to head to the 5th floor. The space has always held an interest to me and I figured if nothing else, I could use the space to recalibrate my afternoon.
I went toward the office and visited the padded cell. I went over to my favorite piece in the building, laundry wolf and gave them a little pet pet. I continued on until I came across Marija's Nurse in the room with the tubs. This was where I decided easily to spend my first loop. Marija is an absolutely stunning dancer. I know her check-out was looming and I'm grateful I got another chance to silently follow one more loop. When I found her she was fretting over some water in a tub. She looked very unsettled and deep in thought. With no one else around I stepped to the side to watch. After a moment, she reached for a paper clipping that was sitting on the desk next to the tub. She wet the clipping and plastered it to the inside wall of the tub near the drain pull. After seeming satisfied that it would stay put, she made her way to her office to retrieve her bag. I enjoyed how she paused to look up at the web of paper that was draped over the space.
Down to 3 we went. Marija is nothing if not meticulous and precise when it comes to her duty. She collected a robe and tidied the bathtub. While I was watching her I noticed a dude pick up the Lady Macbeth letter that fell from the tub. He absolutely had that new guy vibe and was trying to read what was on the paper which was fine but I watched, as she dried the floor, and he eventually took the letter and stepped back with it hanging loosely in his hand. Nurse finished and began looking around. I realized she was looking for the letter...in unsuspecting dude's hand. She finally looked as if she was going to try to make shift a folded letter from the soggy copy on the floor when I leaned over and plucked the letter tossing it back onto the tub area. As she stood she caught it out of the corner of her eye and picked it up returning it to the tub after reading it. Sorry guy.
Down to the mezzanine we went. As I stand and watch the nurse now, I can't help but think of the 1:1 that was taken post covid. It was such a lovely extra bit of info that really explained the motivation of Nurse Shaw and added to the character. RIP. Partway through the banquet, I headed up the stairs because I wanted to take my time rather than chasing a crowd up 5 flights of stairs. These days I also like to find new ways to watch things I've seen many times. To see scenes in a new light from a new angle. I got to the landing between 4 and 5 and just hung over the railing looking down the stairs and waiting. Eventually I watched as Zina's Lady Macbeth headed up the stairs toward the ward. As she passed the 3rd floor, I moved up to the 5th floor and watched her assent. As she rounded the landing below me, I scurried down the hall and watched her enter the floor. I crept into the bathtub room and waited for the nurse to appear before watching the scene unfold. Marija guided her to the bath and I crept out behind her to head back down to the 3rd floor.
I thought about the bond between Lady Macbeth and Nurse Shaw as I watch the nurse carefully lay out her clothes in the window box. When we returned to the ward and made our way into the woods, Marija looked a little lost. She stumbled upon the Matron and helped her back to her hut. After being rocked and comforted, the air changed and Nurse Shaw fled the woods. She stopped about half way out and looked around almost debating with herself as to which way was the exit. By the time she emerged into the room with the tubs she seemed upset and frustrated. She returned to the bathtub I found her at when I picked up the loop and quickly swipped at the paper still stuck to the inside of the tub. In a rush on the way though the room she balled the paper up and sent it flying into a corner.
I really enjoyed seeing Marija dance both the possessed limb dance and the bed solo. She is such a strong dancer and soloist and I'm glad I got to appreciate her work in the hotel one last time. I was just finishing up her loop when she went to climb through the window and head to the mirror dance. I headed into the woods and there is where I found, no joke, the most shocking thing I've ever found in 10 years of McKittrick shows. I'm not really ready to share what I found and the subsequent events that threw my entire day of shows into the wildest tailspin I never expected. I'm defiantly going to write up the rest but it's going to stay a private post for now.
It was truly a wild show.

✊🏽 for ben x perry x jd
thank!!! 💙 pls enjoy some ot3 my lunch pain
send me a prompt and a ship!
JD's hands shook as he put the phone to his ear. Waiting for his call to be answered was agonizing and his mind raced with thoughts that he couldn't hope to quiet. Still, when the deep, familiar voice greeted him, he was able to breathe a sigh of relief.
"Ben… I don't know how to say this…"
He could hear the smile drop off Ben's face. "What is it? What happened?"
Tears pricked behind JD's eyes, but he blinked them away as quickly as he could and cleared his throat. "Perry, he… the last patient from the organ transplants died. And he walked out, he just left."
"He's probably just taking a break, right? Getting some fresh air."
"No, you didn't see him. Right before we got the page, I think I got through to him. But then it all fell apart. I – I thought I could help, that I could protect him from this. But he just… broke. I've never seen him like this."
"Okay, just… let's take a breath. Is he still in the building?"
JD closed his eyes, trying to dislodge the image of Perry walking out of the ICU. "No, his car's gone. I'm really worried about him."
Ben's voice became gentler, softer. "It's gonna be okay, baby. Sometimes he just needs to blow off steam, you know that."
"Yeah, but not like this. I've seen him upset before, I've seen him take a patient's death hard. This is different. And I – my shift isn't over 'til eight…"
There was a pause before Ben spoke again. "I have an idea where he might be. I'll go check it out, okay? And I'll let you know, I promise."
"Okay," JD agreed, wanting more than anything to believe Ben. "Just tell him… I don't know, just tell him it wasn't his fault."
"I will. Before I go, though, are you okay? You hanging in there?"
"Me? I'm… I mean, all this has been awful, but everything he told me made sense. It helped. But seeing him like that… I'm just really worried about him, Ben."
"I know," came Ben's comforting response. "I'll find him and get him home. I'm sure he just needs time to work through it all."
"Thank you. Tell him I love him?"
"Of course, baby. I'll keep you posted."
"I love you," JD said, voice trembling.
"I love you, too."
JD pocketed his phone, feeling better than he had before speaking with Ben. But at the core of everything was his concern for Perry and how different this had seemed from any other situation. For now, though, all he could do was trust that Ben knew what to do.
When Ben finally spotted Perry, some of the tension left his shoulders. His instincts had been right. When he felt lost or upset or hurt, Perry went to the water. It had been a safe place for him for years, before Ben had even known him. Before making his way over to the bench where Perry sat, Ben texted JD a brief update as promised.
Perry did not move when Ben sat down beside him. He did not acknowledge his presence. He simply continued to stare out over the water, leaning forward with his elbows on his knees and a hand over his mouth. Ben could see his eyes were rimmed with red and his hair was verging on wild.
"It's nice out here today," Ben mused aloud. He received no response from Perry, though that was unsurprising. For a long time, Ben sat with him in silence, the two of them watching the waves break on the shore. Ben glanced over at Perry from time to time and it was easy to see how much his thoughts were troubling him.
"Perry –"
"Don't. Don't try to – to tell me that everything's fine, that this wasn't my fault. It was… my fault."
Ben hated the way Perry's voice broke, how shattered he sounded. Just like JD, Ben had seen him in the aftermath of losing patients, but he had to admit that this was different.
"But it's not," Ben maintained. He reached out for Perry's hand, but found it pulling away. "Per, look at me."
Perry's jaw tightened and he stared resolutely ahead. Ben waited, but Perry didn't budge.
"You didn't do this. How many times have you told JD that sometimes the best you can do is a stall?"
"I didn't stall. Maybe the other two, but Davey… he could've waited another month, and I took that away from him. We could've found him another match, but I – I was obsessed and –"
"Hey, hey," Ben said hurriedly, reaching once again for Perry’s hand. This time, Perry didn't pull away, though he didn't return the embrace either. "You did what you thought was right. And from what JD's said, he agrees, too. I can only imagine how you're feeling right now, but believe me when I tell you that it will be okay. It always is, Per, you know that. Even when it doesn't seem like it."
Perry didn't respond, but after several minutes, he leaned into Ben and let himself be held.
"We got you," Ben whispered as he pressed a kiss to Perry's temple. "We got you."
Ben lost track of how long they sat there on the bench. Not much had been said after that and the two of them gazed out over the water. As the sun began to set, Ben squeezed Perry's shoulder.
"JD will be home soon," he murmured. "We should get going. He'll want to see you."
Perry nodded and allowed himself to be led to Ben's vehicle. Ben assured him they'd get his car the following day, that everything would be taken care of. And while he believed his own words, it didn't stop him from worrying. He'd never seen Perry so quiet, and while he knew he couldn't fully understand what the whole ordeal had been like, he had to believe that he and JD could get him through it.
JD arrived home just a few minutes after they did, looking equal parts exhausted and anxious. He visibly relaxed upon seeing Perry and walked straight over to where he was sitting on the couch.
"Hey," he said as he dropped down beside him. "I love you. I love you so much, Per."
Perry nodded, closing his eyes as JD pressed their heads together and returning the pressure. Ben walked back into the living room shortly after and smiled softly to himself at the sight of JD and Perry.
"It's good to have both my boys home," he commented as he settled down on Perry's other side.
He didn't miss the significant look JD gave him, but now wasn't the time to discuss everything. He'd grappled with the knowledge time and time again that he couldn't protect JD and Perry from everything their jobs entailed. Instead, he put his efforts to better use and did his level best to be there for them when they needed it.

OK SO WAIT
FOR ALL THOSE THAT ARE HERE FOR THE PUNCH OUT CONTENT.
THIS CAME TO ME OUTTA NOWHERE BUT IDC
(this post is long as fuck, if you don't wanna read, just scroll a bit,)
The other boxers go to Joe's apartment in Paris because he hasn't really been in many matches for a while.
They don't see him in the living room, sipping on cheap wine and actively enjoying bad French TV shows like he usually is, instead they find him in the room that was always empty, now decorated with Clay and Paints, he seems to be sculpting a Bust, of someone.
His hands are kind of messy with water and clay. They then look to the photo in his hands. It's a photo of Mac and him, at the end of Mac's first match against Joe. He looks to his side and notices everyone and nearly jumps out of his seat. Bear Hugger is the only one who knows French, so he asks what Joe's doing and why he hasn't been in many matches for a while. Joe says he hasn't been in any matches because it's getting to be too much, and his doctor told him that he may need to find another hobby, for the sake of his own health. He says even if he can't box, he'll still be there for the matches. He says the career wasn't really getting him anywhere, anyway, with his 1-101 win-to-loss ratio. (the extra one is from Gabby Jay fucking him up in his own school.) He says the sculpture was supposed to be a surprise and that it is, indeed, Mac. Eventually he was going to make the other boxers, but thought it only fair to make Mac the first one since he fucked everyone up, and thought that was impressive. Bear Hugger translates to everyone, and obviously, they're all pretty sad about it. They loved hanging out with Joe, and learning all about the culture of France, and all that jazz. Joe explained that they hadn't seen the last of him yet, and how just because he wasn't a boxer anymore didn't mean they couldn't be friends. He would still come to the matches, and he wasn't just gonna up n go, and how he'd still hang out with them, in broken English.
"Probably was not a good idea to put my weakness out in my name, live and learn, I guess." He says.
He gets up and hugs all of them, and gives them all little keychains he made out of clay, specialized for all of them.
"Those were my experiments. With clay, I mean. I ended up liking them. They're all yours. I'll never forget you."
More than half of them end up crying. The others have tears forming but they're holding them back. Even Aran Ryan has small tears in his eyes. Sandman and Von Kaiser are both holding onto him and sobbing. Big Guy's got a big heart, what can he say. Von Kaiser... Von Kaiser is trying his best to form words, but he's... He's having a hard time, but he's getting there.
Meanwhile Joe is holding onto them and shushing them like a mom, laughing to himself. He explains that, again, it's for his health, and he really does not want to drop dead in the middle of the ring, thank you very much.
They understand, and Sandman gets off of him, while Joe grabs a tissue box with his newly freed hand, passing it to Sandman. Von Kaiser is determined to make Joe change his mind, though. Joe does not. Eventually, he gives up. But makes Joe PROMISE to show up to all of their meet-ups, boxer or not.
"I guess, if it'll get you off of me."
They leave, all feeling better. Joe goes back into the room where he was sculpting, and continues. He laughs to himself, and takes a moment to look at the photo on the wall. All the WVBA's Best (haha, sure.) Boxers standing next to eachother, smiling. He smiles fondly, then goes back to his chair, finishing his sculpture. He gets a text from Aran. It's a photo of them all crying on the plane back. Including Aran himself.
(aran being < and Joe being >)
<you asshole.)
(I'm sorry that you all are crybabies. Thursday, right?>
<yeah. Careful. I might punch you in your stupid face.)
(you better not. then I could charge you for assault.>
<eeh, I should already be in jail anyway, with the stunts i pull in the ring. See you Thursday, im tired as shit and can't keep my eyes open.)
(Goodnight Aran. Tell everyone I'll see you Thursday. I won't miss it for anything. Promise.>
<you'd better keep your promise, joe.)
(i will.>
(SHOULD,, SHOULD I WRITE A FIC ABOUT THURSDAY?? TELL ME,, I WOULD LOVE TO KNOW AHAJKA)

Teaser for chapter three : what once was
Paring: Inuokku/F! reader
length: 1.02k
─── ⋆⋅ October 2017 ⋅⋆ ───
When the exchange event came to its conclusion, (Y/N) hadn’t been as amazing as she had hoped. She didn’t make it to the final round of the one-on-one fights, and she made many mistakes in the group battle. She wished she could have done more, fought more.
She got too ahead of herself and nearly passed out from blood loss. Yuuta had to carry her around for that last part of the group battle, which she was still incredibly embarrassed about. However he assured her many times he didn’t mind it. She had gotten an earful from Yaga and Satoru, Maki had smacked her in the back of the head, Shoko had looked at her endlessly, but kept her thoughts to herself (not before staring at her in a way that made her feel even more embarrassed than she already was), and somehow Nanami even found out and sent her a wall of text telling her not to act that recklessly again. Inumaki had signed so fast she could barely keep up, and she felt awful for making him worry that much. He had sat next to her until Shoko allowed her to leave.
“Try not to pull a stunt like that again, (Y/N). Too much paperwork.” (Y/N) smiled softly, knowing that she was trying to show her concern without outrightly stating it.
“I’ll try not to, Sho-nee.” Shoko nodded and shooed her away the second she got a text from Utahime.
When they went outside, (Y/N) felt her phone buzz in her pocket
‘Incoming call from edgelord supreme’
“Oh, ‘gumi wh-”
“What did you do?” (Y/N) paused for a moment. What did I do?
“... huh?” she heard a long sigh on the other end
“Gojo sent me a text saying you wouldn’t be able to get me from school and you’re practically never late.”
“Aw, were you worried about me?” She smiled.
“Nee-san.” She laughed at the huff he let out.
“Ah, um, well I needed to see Shoko. During the event, I pushed myself pretty hard and so I had to stay in the office for a while. But I’m better now!” She looked at Inumaki who showed her the time.
“It’s pretty late, did you just get home?”
“...No.” (Y/N) let out a sigh.
“Were you bullying kids again?”
“It’s not bullying if they start it, plus you’re the one who told me that bullying works.” She rolled her eyes.
“I said that ‘cause you’d pour ranch, ranch, all over your fries and then wipe your fingers on your shirt. It was gross, and now you don’t use your shirt as a napkin.” Inumaki was laughing quietly next to her as the two continued walking to their respective dorms.
“Are you okay?”
“I’ll be fine, ‘gumi. Nothing I haven’t done before. You had a test today right? How was it?”
“It was fine, I guess. Boring.” She looked around and noticed that Noritoshi was waiting for her on a bench just outside the dorms.
“Hey, ‘gumi, I gotta go, but I’ll call you back later okay?” He stopped his tangent about this one girl who wouldn’t stop trying to cheat and said okay.
“Can you facetime so I can see the ‘hottie’ you were talking about earlier?”
“Which one?”
“Black hair guy.”
“Oh, Okkotsu. No, he’s in the infirmary right now, but we’ll call you back okay? We’ll introduce you to him soon.”
“Hi, Inumaki-san. Bye, Inumaki-san.” (Y/N) chuckled before hanging up.
“Toge, you head back first. I’ll be there in a sec.” He nodded, but not before giving her hand a squeeze. (Y/N) made her way over to her brother and sat down next to him.
“What you did today was reckless.” She groaned.
“Not you too.” He looked over at her, the tiniest traces of a smile on his lips.
“Yes, me too.”
“It’s nothing either of us haven’t done before. I don’t know why everyone is acting as if there won’t be days where I’ll be put in a worse situation.” He sighed and looked at her.
“We all know that being a shaman comes with its occupational hazards, but that doesn’t change how -how idiotic you were acting. You were actively drawing blood out of your body and trying to control it with no medium to ease that burden. That’s dangerous! I know that we all will have to put our lives on the line a million times over for this lifestyle, but that doesn’t mean one should seek out death. There is a difference between risking death to win and being willing to die.” She peeked over at him and saw the furrowed brows, his worry lines creased.
“You sound like my dad.”
“Well Gojo-san is right.” She looks at him with wide eyes before bursting at the seams and letting out a loud laugh.
“I wasn’t talking about Toru, to be specific, I meant in general.” He glanced towards her and frowned.
“He adopted you, did he not?”
“He did.” He nodded his head before looking back over.
“Is he- is he nice?” (Y/N) looked at him before smiling.
“He’s the best dad I could’ve asked for.” Noritoshi looked down at the ground, a smile fully formed on his lips.
“That’s good.” She glanced at him a couple times before she began to fidget, picking at her nail beds.
“I… I’m sorry for making you worry. I’ll be more careful in the future.” She moved her body to face his. She hesitantly wrapped her arms around him. He froze for a second before wrapping his arms around her.
“I’m sorry for not being there for you and not being a good brother, (Y/N).” She felt her emotions bubble their way to the surface.
“I forgive you. It’s not like I was the best sister either. Thank you for being here for me now.” They sat like that for a while, not moving.
That night they opened their hearts for one another, letting each other in. In the future they would slowly grow a bond and finally become the siblings they have longed to be for the other. But that’s the future. Tonight was the first step into becoming a family, towards healing.

Chapter 07.
Word count: 6,142
Her bewildered look made him smile. Glancing down at her, he was questioning her with his eyes.
"You're shopping", she pointed it out, knowing by now what this expression of his meant.
He had his rifle hanging at his back now; it was attached to his body with a long strap, across his chest. He needed both hands free, after all.
"I was doing this while you were asleep", he admitted as he placed a box of pasta in the plastic basket he was holding in his other hand. "But I'm guessing I can't leave you unsupervised at night anymore."
The words seemed to twist her insides painfully. He left her alone? Completely alone? At night? When she was the most vulnerable? He must've read her thoughts off from her face because he offered a small smile.
The alarm notifies me if anything unusual happens", he made it clear. "Nobody can enter our home without me knowing. You were always safe."
"I still think it'd be better if we did this together in the future", she murmured, shifting slowly behind him when she saw that another RK900 approached them down the corridor.
The two androids stopped for a few seconds. When she glanced up, she saw that their LEDs were spinning in yellow as they looked in each other's eyes; certainly sharing news and thoughts with each other. Her eyes wandered on the human behind the other android, and she bit her lower lip when she saw the intense gaze of the man staring at her. There was an animalistic greed in the way the man sized her up; his eyes lingering on her collar for a few seconds too long before he checked out her body, mostly hidden by the coat. She nervously brought her arms around herself, in an attempt to cover her body up more, aware that the man was raking his eyes all over her. He had a pitch black metal collar; the kind she saw on other humans so far.
When the androids were finished with their voiceless conversation, they continued their way; as she followed her handler, she squeaked quietly when she felt the human slide closer towards her in the corridor. Trying to evade the man, she nearly squished herself between her handler and the shelves.
The other android clicked with his tongue and reached back with his hand, grabbing the man by the collar of his coat to shove him forward. At the same time, her handler moved his arm closest to her behind her, pulling her by the small of her back beside, then in front of himself. He didn't need to use much force, because she was moving on her own to escape the man. She heard a yelp from the human, but she couldn't look back at him to check what happened; RK900 was blocking her view with his body.
"It's okay", RK900 whispered just beside her ear, making a shiver run down her spine. He was so close she could feel his breath on her neck. "I've got you."
"Thanks", she murmured softly.
He moved his hand away from her back before he took half a step to the side, walking beside her again. She saw that the shelves were half full only, and many of them were empty. Wondering why this was the case, she bit her lower lip at the sight of the chocolate cereal. There was one single box of it waiting on the shelf to be grabbed.
The first time she tasted that flashed in her mind. She was very hungry, it was in the middle of the night and she almost couldn't wait to eat some. She furrowed her brows at how she ate it directly out of the plastic bag it was in, just shoving the fistfuls of small balls in her mouth. She could even feel the taste of it now, as she was staring at the box.
That was the taste of freedom. Starving, then eating directly from the package, like a savage animal.
She bypassed the box without sparing it another glance.
He seemed to focus on what they needed, and he had brought her to the vegetables and fruits section. He picked up a few things while she was preoccupied with other handlers and their humans. The mall this shop was in didn't seem busy; there weren't many pairs lingering in here, but each and every human looked puzzled when they looked at her. The androids only glanced her way once before they returned to their tasks at hand; various models in different clothes, some were missing their LEDs which others kept along with their old uniforms. But the humans seemed to care more about the golden collar around her neck.
She found herself unconsciously shifting closer to her handler. He felt her, and half smiled to himself as he was placing a few apples in the basket.
"Don't be nervous", he told her quietly, in his usual monotone voice. "None of them will touch you."
"I don't like the way they're staring at me", she confessed, wrapping a hand ever so gently around his right upper arm, moving close to him.
He didn't pull away from her touch. If anything, it made him feel like he'd attempt to destroy the entire city if someone wanted to drag her away from him. He glanced around above her head, sizing up the others around them.
"Let them stare. Anything more, and they're losing limbs", he promised, his voice a low growl now.
She half smiled as she nuzzled to his arm with her cheek. Hearing him being so protective of her made her heart race faster again, and blood rushed in her face and to her ears.
"No need to be so harsh", she whispered, but he could hear she was smiling.
"I'm serious", he countered.
"I have no doubt that you are", she tilted her head to look up in his face. Now, only a few inches separated them when he glanced down at her, and she felt like she was being swept away by how handsome he was. "But you don't need to."
"Because you want me to be better?"
She remembered that this was what she told him when he was almost killing that man. It was odd he could remember her saying it, but at the same time, she was aware that android memory worked quite differently than human memory. So, she smiled.
"Yes."
He mimicked a sigh, then they continued their way. What occurred to her just now that there was another difference with the humans around them. They were carrying the baskets, not the androids. From this little detail, she wondered whether the humans were needed to cook for themselves; and now that she was thinking about that, she also wondered who was cleaning their homes. She glanced up at RK900, bewildered, and tried to imagine him scrubbing the bath clean. But he definitely had to do it at some point; she'd been living him for over a month by now, and the house was always spotless.
When they were finished gathering what he thought they needed, they walked over to the cashier area – which was empty. She stared at the spot where the cashier usually sat in a shop like this while RK900 got himself a paper bag.
"What are you thinking about?" He asked her without even looking at her, opening the bag to pack the food in it.
"There's no cashier."
"We don't need to pay for the food."
"What??" She gasped, staring up at him bewildered, and he smiled down at her.
"Humans need food. It's a basic need that has to be satisfied in order to keep humans alive. It's free."
He chuckled when he saw how her mouth hung open at his answer, then he turned his attention back to the basket and the paper bag. She needed a few seconds to absorb what he had said, then closed her mouth and tears flooded her eyes as she moved closer to help him fill the paper bag. As she was placing those delicious looking apples ever so gently on top of the box of eggs, she broke down in tears.
"What's wrong?" He murmured, his hand sliding on her shoulder.
"I just." She squeezed her eyes shut before she brought her hands up to dry her cheeks. "I starved. A lot."
He stayed quiet for a few moments before his hand slid on her back. His palm was warm, and she felt him lean close to the side of her head, softly murmuring in her hair.
"With us, you'll never have to starve again."
During the way home, she was quiet as she observed the cold whiteness around them. It looked like it was only his car that took this road, and yet, despite the falling snow, this road was clean.
"Wait for me before you get out", he warned her as the vehicle stopped in front of the house. She grimaced lightly, making him cock a brow. "I'm serious. You don't need more bruises."
She had been ignoring most of her pains until now, but as he mentioned it, she started to notice the pain in her stomach again. With a sigh, she removed the seatbelt, and waited for him to walk over to her side of the car. Opening the door, he offered his hand for her to take. She didn't argue, just took it; and it was as warm as hers. It made her smile a little as she exited the car, already slipping on the ice, but he had a grip on her hand and quickly slid an arm around her to keep her upright.
"I can never get used to ice", she muttered.
"How come?"
She realised he was prodding her for answers. Every little innocent answer to his questions was analyzed and stored, maybe even shared; she couldn't say anything that gave away too much.
But at the same time, she owed him a lot. He deserved at least some of the truth.
"I haven't met it a lot. Before."
"Before what?"
She glanced up at him, and he looked down at her, clearly analyzing her reactions to his questioning.
"Nines", she murmured softly.
"Alright", he mimicked a sigh. "I understand."
The next second, her foot violently slipped out from under her, and he was quick to pick her up bridal style again, making her a red, complaining mess once more. Of course, he ignored whatever she was saying and brought her in the house.
They put away the food, then she had a shower, and she joined him as he was sitting on the couch in the living room. He wasn't recharging – or whatever that was what he was doing –, he simply waited for her there. At least he took his jacket off. She was nibbling on her lower lip as she sat down on the couch beside him. Not too close, not too far away. He was observing her for a minute before he broke the silence.
"Would you like to lie down in the bed now?"
She blushed at the question. Was she this transparent? But, at least, it wasn't her who had to ask this.
"Yes", she agreed. "Yes, I'd like that."
They moved over to the bedroom, then. He didn't hesitate to lie down; not less relaxed than the last time, but she didn't really mind it as she climbed up on the bed, too, on her hands and knees before she snuggled in close to him.
"Is this", she paused for a moment as she rested her head on the left side of his chest. Since he was huge compared to her, she had a lot of space to rest her head wherever she wanted. "...good for you, too?"
He didn't answer at once, just stared at the ceiling for a while. She closed her eyes and half smiled as she was listening to the sounds he was making. The whirring, gentle ticking, the synthetic heartbeat, the thirium pump's distant, quiet thumming.
The sound of home. Of safety.
Of the past.
"I think I like it", he admitted quietly. He moved his left arm up and around her to touch her hair. She shivered a little, tilting her head to look at his face. He was still staring up at the ceiling. "I'm not familiar with intimacy."
She saw his brows twitched at the phrase he used.
"Me neither", she half smiled, and he turned his head to look down at her. "But this feels good."
His fingers rubbed against her scalp, then moved away, pulling gently on some strands of hair, making her shiver. Quiet settled between them, even as he was keeping his eyes on hers, probably overanalyzing every detail of her face while she was observing the way he looked. If she wanted to be honest, she loved the colour of his eyes the most; looking different in various lights, sometimes grey, sometimes blue, other times looking like dripping silver. His gaze was full of mysteries for her, and a part of her wanted to know how it felt like to look at her face through his eyes.
"What's it like to be a deviant?" She muttered, causing his lips to twitch ever so slightly.
"It feels like breaking free from bonds that hold you back", he whispered. "Your thoughts and actions are free; you don't have to recalibrate what you say or do to fit to your superiors' instructions." He paused, his brows twitching ever so slightly. "I was activated without ever being restricted."
"Lucky", she whispered, making him smile ever so slightly.
"I wasn't created to be free."
"But you deserve to be."
He didn't reply, and she continued observing his face in silence. The room got progressively darker around them, to the point that his gently spinning and blinking LED remained the only source of light in the darkness. Despite having a nap during the day, she fell asleep there quite soon.
Sixty's probing was working hard in her subconscious. Memories came back to haunt her; corridors that never ended, screams of grief and pain, prodding and poking and stabbing of needles, threats of punishment for disobedience.
RK900 had set his systems to alarm him if something unusual happened; he was dragged out of his recharging cycle after a few hours, to find her shaking intensely with a way too high pulse, still resting on his chest. He moved his arm around her again to hold her tighter, just when she started to murmur incomprehensible words. Most of it was gibberish, but there were some phrases that made him feel like they froze the thirium in his artificial veins.
She was begging.
Not for herself. For someone else to be spared from whatever horrors her mind conjured up. She held onto his shirt so tightly that he could feel it all across his torso. He'd need to pull her out of this before she caused herself harm.
Now, completely convinced that whatever she was hiding was too heavy for her to process alone, he was aware that in order for his plan to work, he'd need to make her feel even safer. He'd require more help from the outside for that; with the help of Connor and Sixty, they might be able to manage that. Knowing her past would help a lot, too, in order for the future to unfold as they wanted it, but so far, she was performing well. She reacted positively to others, and bonding was appreciated by her, too. There was hope.
It'd be just a matter of time.
"Mm?" She murmured as she woke up due to him gently shaking her shoulder, sitting up in the bed to look around.
"You had a nightmare", he muttered as he remained, still lying in the bed. He could see her perfectly even though it was already dark; she was running her hands in her hair and pulled on her strands a little before she rubbed her face. "Everything is alright. Nothing can harm you here."
"I know", she whispered, her voice and hands shaking. She turned back to try and find him in the dark; the blue LED at his temple definitely helped her. "I'm sorry."
"For what?"
"For... I don't know."
"It's not your fault if you have nightmares", he whispered back, raising his hand to rub her back gently. She nodded a few times, then lied back down next to him, resting her head on his chest again, to hear his heart that never stopped beating. "It will fade. With time."
"You really think so?" She murmured, drawing little circles on his shirt just above his thirium pump.
"We'll need to work on your traumas", he decided to say, "you'll have to talk about it at some point."
"I can't", she whispered, her voice strained as if she was trying to hold herself back from crying. "I just want to forget about it as soon as possible."
"If it revisits you like this, you'll have to. That's how it works."
"I'm afraid", she admitted softly.
"You don't need to be. We'll all support you."
"You and Connor?"
"And Sixty", he added. "And everyone else."
She blinked in the dark, and furrowed her brows a little.
"Eveyone else?"
"Yes", he murmured, "you're one of the very few all of us will protect. If you ever find yourself in trouble... separated from me... for whatever reason... you can trust all of us."
She sure hoped she'd never be separated from him, or the others. Keeping silent for a few minutes, she just listened to his heart. So close, so calm. Smiling to herself, she closed her eyes.
"Your bruises", he whispered, and she grimaced.
"I'm too comfy to move", she murmured. "Sadly, it'll have to wait until tomorrow."
"If we use the cream, it'll heal faster."
"If I need to move, I'll be sad."
He mimicked a sigh, and she couldn't help but chuckle quietly. It seemed that the way she felt around him shifted faster than she thought originally. He brought his hand to her shoulder to move her away from himself. Pouting, she lied on her back.
He went out for the cream and returned with it in a few seconds; sitting on the edge of the bed, he gently stroked the cream in her cheek, and she had to close her eyes and smile at the sensation. She probably wasn't aware, but he saw her reaction. Thin fingers ever so gently stroked her neck, too, then he reached for her shirt to pull it up a bit. As he was working the cream in her skin there, too, he was hoping he wasn't hurting her like the last time, unaware that he didn't, in fact, cause her pain.
And now it dawned on her that she didn't resist too much now either because a part of her wanted his hand there now, on her bare skin, sliding from left to right and left again, warming up her skin with his palm's heat.
It felt good. Touch rarely ever felt good.
When he was done, she was completely relaxed. As soon as he lied back down, she was instantly spread out on his chest again. He wrapped the blanket around her form and held her close.
"Good night", he murmured, and she smiled as she closed her eyes.
"Good night", she muttered softly.
The next morning, she woke up to the feeling of lying on something way too soft. She grabbed the material under her, and upon feeling she could squeeze it in her palm, she realised it was the bedding.
She opened her eyes. He wasn't there. Maybe she turned away from him while she was asleep and he got up when he got a chance? Yawning sleepily, she sat up, then ran a hand in her bed hair. Sitting up, she thought about her day – no doubt she'd spend it with Connor again –, and as she walked out of the bedroom, she realised she was looking forward to be with him, too.
"Stop right there!"
The unkown voice startled her, and she froze in the bedroom door. Her face went white when she quickly sized up the living room.
RK900 was lying on the floor. His right arm was missing from his shoulder; thirium oozed out of his wound as he was kept down by the man who stood above him, keeping a foot on the back of the android. Her heart raced so fast she was afraid it could be heard. She couldn't look away from his injury, and the redness of his LED as he turned his head, his chin touching the ground as he looked up at her.
"So, the rumours were true!" The man snarled, drawing her attention back at him. He wasn't wearing a collar. His dark blue eyes were shining with cruelty as he sized her up, his blonde hair was smoothed back on his head. He had RK900's rifle in his hands. "Word spreads fast, you know? You'll be our precious little cargo that buys us freedom in the future."
"Freedom?" She echoed quietly, tilting her head.
"Freedom from your oppressor, little girl!" He exclaimed, moving the rifle down to touch the back of RK900's head. The android didn't take his eyes off of her, his LED was constantly spinning in red. "You won't be a slave to him anymore! Sounds good?"
There it was – a chance to leave, a chance to be on her own again, a chance to be free. Craved by so many, dreamed of by so many, unreachable for so many.
But... freedom without him?
That freedom meant pain and suffering and uncertainty.
That freedom was wrong.
And yet...
Her eyes settled on RK900's face. He looked stoic for the most part, but that was about to change. She observed him, as he appeared to be completely at her mercy; she could've just told the man to shoot him down and it would've been done.
But she couldn't let that happen. No, she had to take matters into her own hands.
For revenge.
"I want to kill him."
The words flew so effortlessly from her mouth, and she sounded really convincing, because RK900's eyes widened in shock and his lips parted, too. The man laughed.
"Oooh, I didn't think you had it in you", the man observed, but she didn't look at him, she had her eyes locked with RK900's.
"I can do it", she whispered. "I will do it. I want to do it."
"Alright, I believe you. We've guessed that you were kept here against your will. Here, have this", he smirked, offering her the rifle.
She stared at the weapon for a few long seconds, then reached out for it to take it.
"I've never used a rifle before", she admitted, making the man laugh.
"You just pull the trigger, sweet."
"Alright."
She raised it up in her arms; keeping one finger on the trigger, the other under it, her eyes looking through the digital crosshair. She'd only seen RK900s hold such a firearm before, so she simply mimicked their pose.
"I need to step back, he's too close", she murmured, taking a few steps back, keeping the aim on RK900's head. The way he stared back at her... letting all the hurt and pain shine through his artificial eyes... "Okay. So I just pull the trigger?"
"Yeah, that should do it", the blond man nodded with a small smirk.
As she was staring in the android's eyes, she could feel his disappointment, anger, betrayal and hurt. Her words cut him deep, her plans made everything between them fall apart. Was all of their plans in vain? How could he be so naïve - how could he let her under his skin so much? How could he trust her? How could he even think she'd meant everything she said before - from not wanting him to get hurt, through her desires that she wanted to be with him?
He couldn't even attempt to fight back. The truth, laid bare between them, paralyzed him. Being shot, being shut down sounded mercy now; he didn't want to feel, to think, to process what was about to happen. His brows lifted, artificial tears gathering in his eyes.
"Then end it", he whispered, his lips barely moving.
She licked her dry lips as she tried to ignore what RK900 made her feel; she knew she didn't have much time.
She yanked the rifle up and to the right, shooting the human in the belly.
His scream was so loud it nearly shattered her eardrums. He took a step towards her as she took a step back. RK900 was going through the hardest emotional shock, he couldn't even raise his one arm to stop the intruder from walking towards her.
She kept the rifle up and shot again, hitting the man's sternum. The rifle punched back against her shoulder, raising her aim. Blood splattered everywhere, over RK900, on the floor, and the man was still advancing. She took a few steps back, keeping the rifle up, tried to aim well, then she yanked the trigger again, dangerously close to the man's heart, but still not quite there. The ripping sound of the flesh burned in her mind. Another punch from the rifle against her shoulder, but she felt nothing of it. Adrenaline was working fast in her veins, and she lowered the rifle a bit more before she pulled the trigger again, hitting the man's shoulder.
She wanted to aim for his head, but he was moving fast and she was inexperienced.
"Fucking bitch!"
Her back hit the wall behind her, and the man gripped the rifle with both of his hands, twisting it out of her hold and shoving it up and against her throat.
"I'm going to fucking kill you!" He screamed in her face.
Caged thus, she tried to struggle, to kick and claw at the man who was bleeding a lot, but it seemed that her shots weren't enough to kill him fast. He was trying to suffocate her with the last of his energy, and he would've succeeded...
If it wasn't for Sixty.
It seemed RK900 must've sent an emergency message to him as soon as he discovered the intruder. Sixty did not hesitate to run through the apartment at an alarming speed, grab the man by his scruff and yank him backwards before he shoved him to the ground. As she fell to the floor with the rifle at her knees, coughing and struggling for air with her hands at her throat, Sixty did not waste a second to shoot the man in the head, splattering his brains on the ground and the wall.
Not once. Not twice. Until the gun was empty.
RK900 was already sitting but unmoving - clearly decided not to intervene, he must've known Sixty would arrive just in time -, his eyes trained on her as she was breaking down as the adrenaline started to leave her system. Sixty looked down at her, his expression unreadable. Then, his brows twitched as he put his gun away and crouched in front of her, offering her his left hand to take. She stared at him, eyes full of tears, and she threw her arms around his neck to hold tightly onto him as she sobbed.
"Hey Princess", Sixty hissed with a grimace. Hugs were still unusual for him. He awkwardly pat her back. "Nice to see you alive."
Alive-
She panicked, pulling in an instant - but still having a death grip on his firm shoulders for support -, her eyes shifting to RK900 who was still staring at her with an unreadable expression.
"Help him", she begged Sixty, "please- he's losing too much thirium, he's going to- he'll shut down, please-"
"Relax", Sixty pat her shoulder reassuringly, this time. "We all have spare parts in our homes, in case of emergency. He'll be fine. I'll bring him a new arm."
He had to physically peel her arms off of him, then, pulling away from her, he walked in the bedroom, only to reemerge five seconds later, with a large box in his hands. She watched them as Sixty helped him get rid of his torn coat, then they removed the remaining, damaged parts of RK900's arm, attaching a new one in it's place. She crawled over to them and wrapped her arms around RK900's neck to hug him tightly, just when he was trying out his new arm.
"I'm so sorry", she cried, hiding her face in the crook of his neck. He didn't move. Was he mad at her? "I'm... I'm so sorry... I had to... I had to lie..."
"You could've been killed", he whispered, his arms wrapping around her as he glanced in Sixty's eyes.
"I had to- I didn't want him to hurt you- you were... you looked... I was so worried you'd die-"
Sixty said nothing as his lips parted, but his LED started to spin in amber circles as he was requesting connection from RK900. Once the permission was granted, Sixty spoke to him directly, without her knowing.
You were right. She'd truly risk her life for us.
She mustn't put herself in danger for us, RK900 replied. Our plan has to be executed with her being completely safe.
She can hardly be safe in such an environment, don't you think? Sixty tilted his head.
We can take precautions.
Precautions hadn't worked so far.
We'll have to make them work. RK900 gently stroked her back to soothe her. I'm not sending her in unless I know she's absolutely safe.
You bonded with her. It wasn't a question, nor a sentence Sixty demanded an answer for. I don't blame you, he added with a little smile, she's hard to resist.
RK900's eyes shifted on the unmoving body.
He said 'we've guessed that you were kept here against your will'. He paused as he glanced back up at Sixty, who wasn't smiling anymore. There are more of his kind out there, and they know where she is. They want her. They want to use her against us.
We're not letting that happen.
No, we're not. RK900 gently rubbed her back as she sniffled. Sixty and RK900 sent the same sentence to each other at the same time.
We need to find and neutralize them.
"Are you alright?" RK900 muttered, pulling away from her a little to look in her eyes, placing his hands on her shoulders. Now that her adrenaline wore off, she looked drained. "You look exhausted."
"I was so worried", she murmured softly, rubbing her eyes with the backs of her hands. "That he'd... that if I didn't do anything, he'd kill you..."
"You were very, very brave", he reassured her gently, cupping her cheeks and trying to look in her eyes. Reluctantly, she let him move her head as he liked, meeting his gaze as she put her hands on his. "But you've risked your life for me. You shouldn't've done that."
"But I- I couldn't just stand by and watch!" Her eyes welled up with tears again and he gently tried to quiet her down. "I had to- I had to..."
"I can upload my memory to our virtual drive and we can restore my body but I can't bring you back from the dead", he whispered. "I nearly lost you." He paused, fully aware that she did not answer his question from earlier. "Are you hurt?"
"No", her voice was muffled by her crying again. She hid against his chest again. "No, I'm fine."
She needs to stay with Connor, Sixty offered through their connection. She'll be safer at the tower while we're on our mission.
She won't like it.
I have my doubts we'd take long. This was an amateur ambush. He didn't even have a weapon himself, he used your rifle.
And yet, RK900 clenched his jaw, they could break in our home and he managed to blow my arm off.
He was lucky. Or you were clumsy.
I'm never clumsy, and I don't believe in luck.
Sixty narrowed his eyes and smiled, smug, while RK900 rolled his eyes and severed their connection.
"You know what we'll have to do", RK900 whispered in her ear, gently pulling her away from himself again. She looked up at him with a frown. "We need to find the rest of them", he glanced at the body, but she didn't follow his gaze, just started to shake her head. First, just a little, then frantically. "You know I have to-"
"No-no, you can't go, it's too dangerous-"
"Letting them go with this is more dangerous." Despite the situation, his voice remained the same stoic as always. Perhaps in an attempt to calm her down. "They got in here, without triggering the alarm. We can't let that happen again."
"Why can't someone else go?!" She raised her voice. This never happened before, she never raised her voice at him until now. It made his brows twitch just slightly, wondering just how attached she was to him. He couldn't calculate it. He believed she wanted to kill him faster than understanding that she risked her life to save him. There was just so much for him to unpack. "Why must it be you?!"
"He broke in to our home, he attacked us. He made it personal. But you shouldn't worry. I'll have others with me."
He glanced up at Sixty and she followed his gaze, then looked back at him with a shocked expression.
"No way-"
"You'll stay with Connor while we're on this mission."
"While both of you are out there, risking your lives?!"
"It's touching you care so much about me, too, Princess", Sixty grinned. "It makes me feel at least a little significant."
"Of course you're significant", she tilted her head, frowning up at Sixty. The bright artificial light above him made his platinum blond hair shine, making him look like he had a halo over his head. The smile slowly faded from his face when he realised she was serious. "I'd never forgive myself if you- if anything bad happened to you-"
"Relax, Princess", he reached down with his left to ruffle up her already messy hair. "I don't plan on dying anytime soon. And I'll keep him safe for you, too."
"Ha-ha", RK900 mimicked the world's most unimpressed laugh with the world's most deadpan expression, making Sixty snigger.
"Come on", Sixty ruffled up her hair again with his left hand. "Get dressed, we're outta here."
Her eyes wandered on RK900, who nodded, then she attempted to get up on her feet, only to collapse a second later. RK900 caught her in his arms.
"This took a toll on you", he observed.
"I'm fine."
She gritted her teeth, ignoring how dizzy she felt as she slowly got up on her feet. She managed, then got a hold of Sixty's hand. Her eyes wandered on the remains of the human, and her stomach turned upside down.
"Uhoh", Sixty whispered, noticing how pale she went, bringing her much faster to the bathroom now.
She all but collapsed in front of the porcelain throne to empty her stomach. Sixty grimaced, but stayed to keep her hair out of the way, holding her forehead so she wouldn't lean too low.
"There, there", he muttered, expression twisted with disgust. She gagged, over and over, throwing up repeatedly, until her stomach was completely empty. "Let it all out, just take your time."
RK900 stood in the door, watching them before he scanned her vitals. She appeared to be physically alright; it must've been the shock that got to her. His eyes met Sixty's who stared back at him as if he was requesting help, and RK900 smiled a little to himself before he walked over and took the other's place.
"Uh", she groaned, flushing the toilet with violently shaking hands. He reached under her arm with his new hand, helped to her feet and sat her down on the edge of the bath. "I still feel sick", she complained.
"That's perfectly normal", RK900 noted, wetting a small towel to ever so gently rub her face with it. She was breathing deeply now, trying to calm herself down. "Seeing death for the first time is a traumatizing event.
She closed her eyes. She couldn't look at them.
"This isn't the first time I've seen death."
RK900 glanced back up at Sixty, who had his arms crossed in front of him, a focused expression on his face. Their LEDs spun in gold, in unison.
Who is she?
I don't have the faintest idea. And it creeps me out.

WRECKS ANON HERE OMG OMG idk what time it is there it’s currently night time as i’m sending this but HOW WAS THE CONCERT TELL ME EVERYTHING!!1!!
HI!! i just woke up and seeing this made me so happy because i NEED to talk about it, everything is under the cut so people dont have to scroll pass all of this if they dont care lol
okay so, i went with my friend and it was a general admission show that started at 8. we didn't want to be front row or even really in the crowd (covid plus i get anxious/claustrophobic) so we we're fine with just standing in the back so we thought we'd get there at 7 and walk around the area beforehand. but when we pulled up the line was like fully around the block and sooo long, like at least 200 people long. so we just immediately got in line. i thought it was so weird how they didn't even start letting people in until like 7:15 when the show started at 8 but oh well.
we get in, the venue is bigger than i thought it was gonna be and since there were so many people outside we thought it would be absolutely packed, but it was really comfortable, so me and my friend stood off to the side but we were still really close to the stage. then the opening acts quickly went on, i knew both of their music and i ended up meeting them after the show! mothe (like the bug moth) went first and they were amazing! then girlhouse went on and they were amazing too, the lead singer introduced a song by saying something like 'this is a song about people using religion to tell me what to do with my body' and then said she was giving all of the tips from her merch she sells to a charity for abortion funds which was amazing. the song was 'happy now' btw.
also i should mention before the wrecks went on it was...so hot. it was like 90 degrees outside and the AC was broken in the venue so everyone was sweating and dying even before the main show started....
then the wrecks finally went on and they're intro was so cool (i have a video i'll post it soon, i have a few videos i'll post throughout the day). the energy was immediately amazing and it was a hometown show for two of the members so it felt special. also i'm not exaggerating, nick made direct eye contact with me like... every other song. for a long time like we held our gazes for a while it was POWERFUL. it was also one of the most respectful concerts, nick kept saying that it was really hot and they were handing out water constantly in between songs, he also said to look out for your neighbor if they need help and alert him immediately and bring attention to it, he also said if there's a creepy dude bothering you to also alert him and security will get him out. i thought that was very nice that he made an active effort to have people feel safe.
they did stop the show a few times (i think 3) first was a small fight because someone got pushed, the second was a false alarm and the third was someone passed out or was about to pass out? she ended up being fine but they stopped the show for like 10 minutes and were handing out waters to everyone while she was being taken care of.
then the show continued and they kept having people applaud for their crew member named trevor. nick went on a whole bit and kept saying things like 'trevor is the sock under your bed you find that matches the sock you were looking for' and other things like that. for like 5 minutes while trevor was fixing his guitar. then it came to an end, it was amazing.
i waited till after to get merch and that's when i met both the opening acts because they were just hanging out afterwards. got pictures with them both and they were so sweet. i bought a girlhouse tote bag and stickers, as well as a wrecks signed vinyl.
we waited outside afterwards to see if we could meet them (the guitarist was out there just hanging out but no one was like... talking to him or anything because he was the friends so people just kinda ignored him lol). we didn't get to meet them because we left after like 30 minutes because 1. we were so tired and sweaty 2. there was a real creepy dude who was like 60 years old and talking to two 20 year old girls and they were like... smoking out of his pipe... so the vibes were off and we left lol.
they did say they would be back soon and try and do 2 nights instead of 1 so maybe i'll meet them then. but overall it was amazing. 💕💕💕

Gekkoukan!Strega AU: What a Lovely Couple
A/N: Oh hey look word dump!
This is part of my Persona 3 HEX story on Chapter 5, tho since I'm taking forever finishing that up (I'm currently writing the summer vacation scene atm), I thought to post this rough bit in the meantime. Hope you all enjoy, and if you have any thoughts or feedback be sure to leave it in the comments ^^
This part in particular takes place where they tackle the Arcana Shadows at the Love Hotel (ohhh yes, fun stuff)
Fandom: Persona 3 | Characters: S.E.E.S., Takaya, Jin, Chidori | Word Count: 13,421 | Relationships: General (slight hint at Junpei/Chidori & Jin/Fuuka)
More on HEX/Gekkoukan!Strega AU
The second week comes around, and everyone suspects this night under the full moon having another large foe underway. Everyone gathers around at the lounge room as Fuuka summons her Persona once the Dark Hour begins. The new recruit uses her ability to scan all over town to find any larging presence, easily pick out what they are looking for. It takes time for her to locate any large enemy due to their odd power, so the group grows patient until they get word of her discovery.
“Any luck so far?” Akihiko goes to ask along with the others knowing it'll take her quite some time. They also hope she doesn’t stress too much with her power to find the Shadow if she struggles already as is. Fortunately, the girl answers reassuringly.
“Not yet… it'll be just a moment…” Her voice comes out calmly and soothes the others as she continues her search. She resides inside of Lucia like before, acting like a locator to pinpoint the next target’s location. Everyone else stands by while waiting it out and making side talks with one another to pass the time.
“Takaya, do you happen to recall any Shadows in your visions lately? How many do you oppose we would face tonight?” Mitsuru asks the long-haired man with the insight of his abilities being able to benefit the team once they know what they’re going up against.
The eldest student tilts his head over to the young lady’s direction upon being asked. “If my memory serves me well– there is a significant chance we’ll be facing two Shadows under the same night, just like the previous month. The Hierophant… and The Lover Arcana.”
“So double the trouble like before huh?” Junpei asks this with curiosity. “Not a problem: We’ll get this over with just as quick! They’re only making this easier for us.”
“I’m not sure how I feel about this…” Yukari admits as she holds one of her own arms with worry. “We should be careful if it’s anything like last month.”
Kotone catches the worried tone from the brunette as she smiles over at her with glee. “Oh, I wouldn’t worry about a thing. We’re stronger now than we were before. Now with Chidori by our side, of course!”
The younghead then smiles faintly, finding this to be somewhat exciting for her. “I’m truly looking forward to this. You could say tonight would be my first time fighting a large Shadow alongside all of you. I know I technically had that time last month… but that was more of a last moment notice…”
Another exchange is made within the team as Fuuka then finally announces her finding. “Oh, I found it!”
“Nice one! Looks like we were right!” Junpei does an air pump in victory, despite tonight only being the beginning of their Dark Hour operation.
“So it would seem…” Ikutsuki scratches under the chin in thought as he goes to ask the girl with the navigation skills. “Where are they located?”
“It’s located in…” She goes to focus on their exact coordinates with her ability, wanting to make sure she got the area right. “The interior of a building… at Shirakawa Boulevard.”
“Shirakawa Boulevard…?” Yukari questions this outloud, realizing where she had heard that name before. “Hang on, is that…!?”
“Appears to be so.” Ikutsuki kindly answers the brunette. “That would explain the rising case of The Lost being in pairs lately. Now I truly understand.”
“Understand what exactly…? Oh, I see…” Mitsuru didn’t need to ask any further. She realizes it already.
As Fuuka dismisses Lucia from any further use for the time being, she looks at everyone else in her own sign of puzzlement. “Why, what’s on Shirakawa Boulevard? Is it another of those shady areas of the place?”
“Oh, no. Quite the contrary actually…” Takaya holds his hand up while going to speak. “There’s actually a popular hotel for partners and lovers alike in that area. You know the ones.”
“Uhmm…” Fuuka still doesn’t quite get it, somehow. Her first thought was it being a place for a honeymoon. Her sign of innocence shows.
Junpei decides to fill her in on it, with a sly mischievous grin of his to further elaborate. “Oh yeah. That’s where those types of hotels are! Ya know, where they go do their… lovemakin’ stuff and all that…”
“Huh–?” The girl slowly takes in those words bit by bit and puts them together like a puzzle. Finally, she figures it out with a slight flush in her cheeks. “O-Oh… you mean…?”
“Ugh, boys…!” Chidori even rolls her eyes over that thought. She swears that guys like him have the dirtiest minds in the whole world. And someone had to be immature about it, too.
“Now that’s just bullshit,” Jin shoots a disappointed glare towards the man making the suggestive comment. “They’re no different than any other establishments around here. Their rooms are just fancier– nothing to it. Plus I heard they’re quite affordable for a hotel as well.”
“Aww man! That’s it?” Junpei gives a tone of disappointment hoping it would be more obscene based off what he heard. Still, he wouldn’t mind checking out the fancy rooms.
“Affordable you say?” Takaya takes this within interest, even rubbing the base of his chin. “Well I'd say this place is worth investigating. It'd be like a grand tour with a few standing coffins in the way. Not a huge deal.”
Chidori only turns slightly to look at the oldest brother with a raised brow but indifferent expression. “... You just want to try out the bedding in the guestrooms, don’t you?”
“And is that so wrong?” Takaya comes back vocally with a raised hand and relaxed posture in a sign of having an innocent curiosity of his own.
The sister then shakes her head in response, this time with a smile. “Not at all. I'd like to try them out as well. See if they’re in fact comfortable…”
“Everyone, please focus…” Mitsuru calls out to the others while gently massaging her temple. “This is a mission. We’re heading over to the Shadows’ location to take them out before the Dark Hour disappears tonight. Are we clear on that?”
“Question,” Chidori briefly raises her hand up before taking a chance in asking. “What would happen if we don’t take down these large enemies in time? Will they come back next month, or are they gone forever?”
“Well, that is a fair question…” Yukari voices her understanding on that. “But hopefully we don’t have to find out. As long as we are all in this together, we shouldn’t waste much time.”
“I’m with ya!” Akihiko grins deviously with determination as he pumps his fist up. “Let’s take ‘em out now while we still have the chance! We can worry about the ‘what if’s later.”
Ikutsuki admires the energy coming from the group, but still leaves in his fatherly advice to the rest of the teens who may also feel pumped about the mission. “Now don’t get too cocky. We may have a better grip with how these Arcana Shadows are, but there’s still a lot we don’t know. So, please, don’t let your guard down.”
Chidori gives an innocent smile towards the Chairman while making a slight bow with sincerity. “We won’t, father. Promise.”
“Say Yuka-tan,” Junpei eyes over to the brunette to ask a teasing question. “You’re not scared to come along with us are ya? I can tell you look uneasy already– imagine what will be behind those hotel doors I wonder…”
“Eh!? Am not!” Yukari makes a puzzling glare while making her way over towards their leader to stand next to him. “In fact, I’m tagging along with Makoto, just to prove it to you! You’re leading the team for tonight, right?”
“Uhhhh— I suppose…?” It didn’t sound like Makoto had much of a choice, but simply went along with it.
“Then it’s settled. Let’s make our way to the coordinates and set out a plan. We can continue any discussion in the meantime over there.” Mitsuru heads out of the command room first as everyone casually follows along.
Ikutsuki watches as each person walks by, only stopping the one moving last to speak with them momentarily. “Ah, Takaya! I was actually meaning to give this to you!”
“Hm?” The eldest son turns towards the man’s direction while watching what he’s grabbing nearby, simply to give it to him. It was merely a small box full of pellets that he got recently.
“I figure you would need more of these for your weapon. You see– these are slightly different but even more effective then what you got going now. They can penetrate through a Shadow and fire sparks from within, making it a very flashy show if you think about it! But here…” The father speaks to Takaya in a happy yet well mannered sense, very much excited for his son to try them out with his gun to see how he likes them himself.
“Oh, why thank you.” Takaya shows mild appreciation, while still being awestruck and surprised to be given this. “Did you order these yourself? Or did you happen to have them specially made?”
Jin happens to turn around at the doorway to hear the distant conversation between the two family members, wondering if he should wait it out until they’re finished to exit out of the dorms together. Chidori only notices Jin standing still to turn around too, seeing their oldest brother is still behind with their foster father giving some care as he would. The middle sibling only notices the smiles and heightened tone between the two as a form of their very bond they share, something Jin doesn’t seem to have with their father at all. Not that it matters greatly to him anyhow, but he still can’t help but feel mildly bitter about it. His brows furrowed with the little patience he has left, as he finally steps out of the room to catch up to the rest of the students. The two then finish their conversation as Takaya catches up to Chidori who is waiting for him happily before walking alongside him.
“Oh, pardon me sister. I didn’t mean to lag behind everyone else. Did Jin take off already?”
Chidori then realizes his absence by the doorway, seeing he may have just left without them. “Uhmm… yeah, I suppose so.”
She wonders why that was the case, knowing Jin being a loyal person of the family when it comes to staying behind for either of them. Tonight seems to be the exception apparently. She can’t blame him; they have a mission to do today, and they only have so much time to do it. They only manage to pick up their pace to catch up to everyone else, with their brother included.
They make it to Shirakawa Boulevard where the hotel is located. From the outside it doesn’t look anything special, but it doesn't stop the gang from being eager to enter the place and hopefully find the enemies inside. The older redhead surveys the building from the front and shifts her stance towards the others with a plan in mind.
“The hotel has two stories inside to explore. I suggest to speed up the search we can split into two teams. One can cover the first floor upon entering while the other goes upstairs to explore the second level.”
“Heh, sounds good to me!” Junpei proudly states it while adjusting his baseball cap and smiling widely. “I guess that means Kotone can play the leader too!”
The female student mentioned then makes a small endearing smile. “Hm, never thought you’d be happy seeing me lead a team again. Alright then, I accept.”
“Excellent.” Mitsuru makes a nod in agreement. “Just like how we form together in Tartarus, I’d say four members in each team will be ideal. I’ll let you two choose who you want to have. Remember: Strategy is important too.”
Not only that, but Makoto technically already has Yukari next to him since she announces herself to be with him throughout the mission, which leaves the male leader two other members to pick from. Kotone goes first in choosing three of her own choosing.
“Let’s see here… Akihiko, Takaya, aannddd you!” The young girl points at Mitsuru herself to join her formed team, which the third-year smiles and goes along with without asking.
“Hmph, very well. Yuki-kun?” The older redhead refers to the other leader for his time to pick.
Quietly, he glimpses over at three remaining team members to choose from. He knows it’s all about what abilities each person has to offer, but he does want to give the newest member a chance in this fight as well. Without question, he calls her up. “Chidori-chan?”
The young redhead perks up with an intriguing look as she then quickly walks over to join by his side. That leaves him with two remaining members, but as soon as he is about to pick one out, he sees a series of hand waving from one of the others already.
“Oh c’mon, pick me, pick me! Let me get a piece of the action!” Junpei sways his hand up to get the leader’s attention, his wide grin and loud voice shows off his excitement.
As the others simply roll their eyes and try to ignore the man’s plea, the leader however goes along with it. “Well okay then. As long as you don’t cause any trouble…”
“Hell yeah! Not to worry my man!” Junpei happily walks over and pats Makoto’s shoulder in glee to join him. “This will be a piece of cake.”
“And that leaves us with…” Mitsuru then turns over to see the last remaining member next to the new navigator. “Oh, Jin. I apologize– I didn’t realize we’re at an odd number.”
“Don’t worry about it,” The young man simply shakes his head to dismiss any trouble. “It was going to happen eventually. I can watch over Yamagishi-chan while you go about the mission.”
It’s already established that the navigator of the group would be waiting outside the building on her own, so it’s only fair someone would stand by and be on the lookout in case any outside forces were to come around. Besides— someone has to look over someone who is watching over everyone else. Last anyone checked, Fuuka doesn’t possess any actual combat abilities, leaving her chance of fighting against anything extremely low.
“Very well then…” Mitsuru gives a seldom nod to it, seeing it only being logical. “If anything turns up, don’t hesitate to reach us.”
Fuuka nods in understanding to her request, knowing she’ll try to do her best however possible. It was very nice of someone to stay behind with her after all, keeping her company during the Dark Hour as she plays her role for the team. She doesn’t think she needs a personal bodyguard, of course, but it never hurts to have someone else nearby to be on the lookout.
With the small exchange between the teams on who’s covering which floor, the eight members enter the building and start their expedition. With no power on during the Dark Hour, the interior of the hotel is pitch black with only shreds of the green glow coming from the moon outside. The vast area is unusually quiet, yet that’s to be expected in this ominous hour as is. They proceed with caution, as usual, as they would do when exploring Tartarus.
“I sense two Shadows up ahead where you’re at. Be careful.” Fuuka transmits her communication to the male leader, who stays at the first level as his cousin and her team goes for the second floor. Makoto then gives appreciation to the navigator’s observance while continuing down the hallways. The others try to make as little noise as possible down the halls with the floor underneath, trying to get a jump at an enemy Shadow and take it by surprise. Meanwhile Kotone and her own team make their way around the hallways themselves while taking a look in each bedroom passing by, making sure they can find any clues.
It has only been a few minutes since their exploration began, as Fuuka continues looking out for the two teams at once and therefore being occupied in her conscious thought. As Jin goes to lean against the wall seldomly bored during the time, he gets a round disk-like object out of his pocket with a long string attached, dropping it down only for him to reel back up with the thread. He occupies his boredom with it, minding his own business and leaving Fuuka be to focus on her task. With only a good moment of herself communicating with the two teams, she finally looks around and sees the young man with the rolling toy in his possession, which happens to catch her interest. He makes several tricks with the fluctuating disk object in his possession, having the thread tie around his fingers while having the rolling end part still going, and then undoing all of that to the basic up and down motion.
Jin only realizes her gaze looking right towards him and pauses momentarily to ask. “Sorry, you needed something?”
“Huh? Uhm, no,” She shakes her head in response. “My apologies, it’s fun to watch someone with a yo-yo on occasion.”
“Ah… yeah,” He plays one more round with a toy. “I don’t use it often, but it’s a good time killer for sure.”
The young girl hums in delight, watching him continue his play while also keeping quiet to have her focus still keeping track of the others in the building. She can be good at multitasking, though with two teams venturing inside the building rather than one, she can have a tough time keeping tabs on every member like this. The other student seems to realize this as well, as he tries not to distract her as much as possible.
“If you need me to— I can stop, if it’s hindering your focus.”
“Oh no, not at all!” Fuuka waves off any worry he may have, smiling towards the individual with specs. “By all means…”
Her gentle nature gives a slight appeal to the haunting atmosphere the Dark Hour possesses over everything, easing both their tension as they continue what they were doing before. Fuuka brings out Lucia for a moment to maximize her power, using her telepathic skills for communication. While everything is still going to plan, she dismisses the Persona temporarily while being lost in thought. She hangs her head low, only to finally make eye contact with the other member again to speak her mind.
“I’m sorry to ask this of you, I know this can be kind of random: But is it possible that you might be holding something against me? Ever since I joined the team I mean.”
“... What do you mean by that?” The young man stops using the yo-yo almost immediately, looking up with a puzzled expression while trying to make sense of the question. Did he show any sign that he may be? He doesn’t think so, in fact he was really meaning to be as genuine with her as he can be. Sure he may be brash with her at times, but it was by no means hard feelings. He wonders where she picks up on this assumption.
“Well,” She continues. “I hope this doesn't cause any problems between us. I didn't mean for you to have to stay behind and not be able to put your abilities to good use like before. Because of me… I replaced you and Chidori both.”
“Hey! This isn't your doing, and I know that we’re both aware of that.” He goes to reassure the girl with a stronghold nature. “Your skills easily exceed both mine and Chidori's combined, even surpassing Mitsuru’s altogether, so give yourself some credit. You're not doing anything wrong– in fact, you're doing pretty amazing right now.”
She can already tell that he is dead honest with her. She doesn’t have to question that. “Oh, well, I appreciate your thoughtfulness Senpai… but really, I hope there's no strain in our companionship.”
“You're kidding, right?” He makes a small scoff at it, but it was in a kinder manner than usual. He hates seeing someone beating themselves up over something they're doing, especially if what they’re doing is for a good cause. However, people like her would be too modest to express that. He then gets his back off the wall and approaches the other team member steadily. “If you believe there will be some hard feelings over something like you doing a better job than I could, then you're being way too humble for yourself. Me? I was more than glad to focus more on the battlefield than having to worry about some enemy's weakness at the same time. With one less thing to keep track of, it certainly made my life a little easier– and I appreciate you for that.”
The girl finds this to be a surprising point. She didn't think about that earlier, and doesn't know why either. Perhaps she was focusing too much on the negative aspect rather than the actual benefits her role brings to everyone else. Jin then looks up at the building the others are in, confident everything will be fine in the end. “Besides, I'm sure Chidori is having the time of her life fighting against the very things she was scared of before. I saw how she was doing on our way here too– she's way more than excited to be part of the action for sure.”
At the first floor of the hotel, flashes of burning flames enlighten the dark atmosphere thanks to the Persona’s fire abilities. The Shadows melted into the cold wooden floor and let out very meek screeches before disappearing for good. The redhead who commanded the fire applauds to herself in victory, finding this to be a delight to watch from a safe distance. “Yes, excellent!”
The young redhead then finally turns to the other three members standing behind as they watch her enjoying the fun. “Well, what are we waiting for? Let's find some more to fight!”
Yukari only leans close to the male leader just to see if he has any similar thoughts she has. “Is it just me or is she enjoying this way too much?”
“I don't know– but I'm feeling the burn too. Now my Persona is more ready than ever!” Junpei was in earshot to hear Yukari's side comment and answers for them, grinning in excitement as well as he sees this fighting spirit from Chidori. She's even scary at times when being like this too, especially with a pleasing smile on her face. It was a new side of her he never thought he would experience himself, but over time he doesn't mind it so much anymore. It's like each passing moment in her free will to cast various skills at their enemies makes him appreciate her more each and every time. Whenever he sees her happy, he feels the same way, oddly enough.
Makoto sees the battle being about over as he goes to kindly remind the rest of the group with a small sense of concern for the team. “Now let's not get off track about what we're here for. We're looking for the Arcana Shadows before the Dark Hour ends, just so everyone is aware.”
“Right right, we know…” Junpei responds somewhat in dismay while rubbing the back of his neck. They speed up the pace, making time for what they have to find the largest Shadows in question.
The redhead catches up to the others, speed walking only to catch up to one of the members and walk casually afterwards.
“How strong are these Shadows we're seeking for?” Chidori mainly asks herself this within a tone of curiosity. Knowing she has gotten a taste of fighting one last month, she's still relatively new to the large enemies that are indeed more powerful than any other.
Junpei then makes a casual hum along with his own answer. “They can be a tough cookie if you start out a little rough into battle, but otherwise they can be pretty fulfilling to beat up.”
“Hm… I sure hope so.” Chidori makes one smile at that idea, hoping maybe she can get a chance to show these baddies who’s boss under the Dark Hour. She knows she should be more serious about this task, knowing how dangerous and scary this whole mission can be, but the drive she has only has her tackle any doubts she would have for tonight.
“Hey…” Junpei smiles back at the girl walking next to her. “You got a nice smile there. I don't see that very often.”
“Huh?” She squeaks in surprise, trying to wipe the grin away to pretend she wasn't. “I have no clue what you're talking about.”
“You don't have to hide it ya know,” The young man keeps his grin up regardless. “It looks good on you. It means that you're happy, yeah? If you’re happy, I’m just as happy. The feeling spreads, ya know.”
The girl makes an inaudible grumble, glancing away from the guy to hide any other visual cues of embarrassment. Her cheeks make a warm flush, which would be hard to tell in this darkened place.
The team continues walking around and checking inside one of the rooms, seeing it may be good to find anything if possible. Next floor up, the female leader walks into a room first, doing the same thing as to check on any vacant area if possible. The other members behind her follow along and look around the room they wandered in, finding an abundance of pink and red colors in the decorative bedroom. The bed itself is fairly large that multiple people can be on at once, being in the shape of a heart as well. They take a look around as one of the members decides to stop and gaze over the sight of the one area upon curiosity.
“Hm, how interesting…”
Akihiko hears one of the members speaking and turns around. “What is it Takaya?”
The man in question gestures over to the heart-shaped bed by casually pointing with one of his fingers. “There's three coffins on display on top of the mattress as we speak. Strange; I would assume at least two would be together in this type of setting. But three? Why such an odd number?”
Nobody wanted to answer that for him. The three at that very moment got a good idea why that may be, but they rather not discuss it in case one were to be wrong. Other than that, it's literally none of their concern.
“... Let's not get any ideas while we're at it, alright?” Mitsuru awkwardly glances over to the side only to see their leader walking towards the one end of the bedroom. “Did you find anything Shiomi?”
“I… think so?” Kotone makes an unsettled answer while looking at a glass plane hanging on the wall. At first glance it looks to be as if she's checking on her own reflection, but that doesn't seem to be the case at all. Partially why showing the confusion. “This mirror doesn't have a reflection at all.”
“What do you mean? Can you not see yourself?” Akihiko asks questionably as well, not finding this to be logical if that is the concern here. But for the Dark Hour to appear with the large Shadows located here, anything is possible they suppose.
Kotone makes a small hum in response, her focus mainly being on the mysterious mirror showing the empty room in its own reflection, nothing else. It's extremely strange, knowing she is standing right in front of it. She goes for a closer look, not seeing anything new until a flash of light hits her eyes all so suddenly. Everyone else is affected too, trying to hide their face from the same bright light before all they can see is white. The other team at the lower floor experiences the same thing, also being blinded by the flash of light and being consumed in the brightness.
Fuuka's eyes shoot wide open in sudden surprise, feeling no one's presence at all as everyone has disappeared from her navigational senses. She starts breathing rapidly, looking up at the building in front of them before looking around her anxiously. She's starting to freak out, and Jin starts to realize this as he notices her change of stance and her hyperventilating nature.
“What's wrong? Is everything okay?”
Fuuka however only whimpers in fear before trying to spit out an answer. “I can't… I can't find them!”
“Wait, who!?” Jin starts to ask this cautiously. “Who can't you find?”
“E-Everyone!” She shakes her head while trembling in fear of the idea. “They all disappeared! They're gone!!”
. . .
One person so far finally gains some conscious after that obnoxious white-out everyone else has experienced. Everything looks very blurry at first, as a few blink of their eyes finally shows everything much more clearly. It's the over-saturated pinks and reds again, this time the person is sitting on the mattress themselves. It's almost eerily quiet, with only the sound of running water in the distance behind an already closed door. The man then rubs the front of his forehead in ache, realizing their blue cap isn't on their head anymore. He then looks around, only to see it on the nightstand next to him. Weird… since when did that get there? Where is he anyway? How did he get here?
He checks everything else on him. He still has his evoker in his holster, which is always good. Everything else seems to be in place, along with…
The shower is turned off, as the person then exits the bath area by opening the door to the bedroom. Junpei turns to look, seeing a familiar student in his gaze. Their long silky hair sheens from the dim light in the bedroom as they show their relief from the shower they have finished. The hot steam exits out of the other room and envelopes around the person as they briefly pat their bare body with a towel before wrapping it around… their… waist…
Wait what? The other student couldn’t figure out who it was at first, only seeing a darkened silhouette entering the room before they finally flicked the lights on. The tall slender individual pulls his hair up while stretching their arms out all the matter, displaying the signature ponytail he usually has outside the dorms.
“Ahhh… now that’s what I call a mystifying haven…!” The man breathes out with an eased expression and continues playing with his hair, the recent washing session has him feeling freshened up and ready to go. What were they doing again? Eh, who knows. He enjoyed his spare time to himself without realizing another person in the room.
Junpei then jumps out of the bed in terror as he witnesses a half-naked Takaya before him. Out of all others he would expect to be trapped in a room with– this would be the last person on his mind. “AW HELL NO—!!”
His terrified scream emits even outside the building, surprisingly not being caught notice by anyone else in the hotel or anyone from outside. Meanwhile Fuuka continues pacing around anxiously, trying to use her skills to locate the members again with no luck.
“I don’t understand…! I knew where they were, I knew where they were at! I… I… I don’t know what to do!”
“Fuuka, stop!” Jin grabs hold of one of her shoulders for the new recruit to stop pacing around, turning her towards him. “I’m going to need you to calm down, alright? Breathe. Where did you last locate them?”
“Where–?... Okay…” Her voice comes out shaky and rashed, but following his simple order, she takes a breath. “Th-They were surveying one of the bedrooms. Looking for small clues, I’m sure.”
“One of the teams, or both?”
“... Both. At the same time, even.”
Jin makes a hum on that, loosening his grip on her while eyeing over at the eerie hotel where the teams have possibly disappeared. There’s a good chance this is one of the Arcana Shadow’s doing, blocking any communication between the team and her for some type of advantage over their teamwork. That’s only his guess afterall, and he isn’t going to wait around to find out.
“I’m going in. I’ll need you to stay behind and continue looking for them on your end.”
“Wait, by yourself?” The girl chirps cautiously, not admiring the idea one bit. Of course, it is just them two, but doing a solo mission is a risky task, especially tonight.
“There’s a chance they’re all in trouble, someone has to do something!” Jin spares the arguing. If there’s any chance he can help the teams out of a sticky situation, whether it be his brother, sister, or anyone for that matter, he’ll take the risk. “I’ll go look for them inside, but if you happen to find them first– reach out to me, and I’ll head back out as soon as I can.”
“But…” She doesn’t find this to be strategic on her behalf, putting himself in danger can make this mission even more complicated if something were to go wrong. She doesn’t have time to make a protest by the time he leaves her and goes inside the hotel on his own. While she’s okay being on her own and continuing her job, she can’t help but feel more afraid of losing another member if everyone else is unable to be rescued. Where did they go anyway?
One by one each of the Persona users wake up from the mysterious spell they were in, and surely find consciousness again to get out of their so-called ‘intimate’ moments with another person. Shortly after they have, they all exit out of their respective bedrooms to reunite with anyone else. So far Makoto and Yukari run into Akihiko and Mitsuru on their way down the hall, all being partially relieved that they found one another at least.
“Well good thing we ran into you guys! … What happened to you?” Akihiko spits it out first while having shortness of breath. He sees what appears to be a red mark right on Makoto’s cheek, as he then goes to gently massage that area with little reaction to it.
“I’ve been better…”
“Where are the others?” Yukari cuts in to drift away from that topic, seeing there's nothing they should know about. “Has anyone seen—?”
Just as the brunette goes to ask anyone else, they see two men running towards them and finally stop in their tracks.
“There you are! God I was dead worried— this place is haunted as hell!” Junpei pants over exhaustion as Takaya finally catches up to him and the others.
“Glad to see everyone else is safe and sound. Where’s sister?”
“We don’t know…” Yukari answers sincerely. “At least, not yet.”
The oldest redhead gives out an order. “I’m afraid we’ll have to search through all the bedrooms nearby. Everyone be on the lookout– I’d rather have none of us become separated again.”
“Is everybody alright?” Fuuka comes into contact with everyone else after finally being able to locate them.
“Yes, we're doing okay!” Yukari responds promptly seeing she was able to reach out to them again.
“Thank goodness, I was getting worried.” Well, ‘worried’ is a tamed way of putting it, but they don’t need to know how extremely scared she was after losing them like that. “What happened to you all?”
“It appears to be the Shadows’ doing, randomly warping us into separate rooms without prior warning. Can you locate Shiomi and Yoshino-chan for us?” Mitsuru gives a small sound of concern for the remaining missing two members of the group, hoping they are safe from any harm.
“I’ll give it my best. I’ll let you know if I find anything.” Fuuka notifies the team before ceasing their communication, possibly on the search for the others as the team members start on their search.
While everyone else goes around the hallways to look around for the remaining students, Jin makes his way down another hall to look for the team. He’s been having no luck so far, sprinting from one end to another before heading up the stairs. A Shadow crawls around the corner as Jin then hides behind a wall to avoid interaction with the creature. Fortunately the Shadow didn’t catch the wandering member at all, and goes along with its usual route before Jin makes a move again. He tries to be careful not to get caught, while he would be more than willing to fight off the monsters he’ll cross paths with, it’ll only take too much time to find anyone. He sticks to his main objective, being stealth with one knife in hand in case he would run into anything. He then hides behind another wall once more, noticing a creature sitting by on the lookout. He steadies his breath, peeking over at the edge of the corner to watch its movement from the distance. He then slowly removes the drawstring bag from his back and holds it in his hands, ready to open it any second now if he has to. Since the monster doesn't move much after, he's about ready to make a move and keep going, not looking anywhere in front of him as he then runs into someone unexpectedly. It didn't become a forceful thud, thankfully enough, but it surely doesn't save his glasses from falling off and having him drop his bag. “Ah shit!”
“Oh my gosh, are you okay!?”
“Y-Yeah… I think I broke my glasses though…” He winces out as he then kneels down to pick the glasses back up. He then puts them on, noticing a crack on one of the lenses before shifting his focus to the young girl before him. He freaks, his eyes widened only to readjust his posture to stand up. He then rubs one side of his head.
“F-Fuuka!” He angrily whispers at her, being cautious with his volume. “What are you doing here!? I told you to wait outside and stay there!”
“I know I know, I’m sorry!” She whispers back, even somewhat anxiously while folding her hands together. “But I thought to help you out of here while I'm at it. I fortunately found the others, and—!”
Jin then quickly hushes the girl, noticing the Shadow is slowly creeping up to their side of the hallway where it could potentially see them if it ventures any further. The young man has his hand hovering over her mouth, making sure she keeps quiet so the shadowy creature doesn’t catch any sound of them. It then slowly turns around and goes to the other hallway, being out of their sight for sure. While Jin breathes a sigh of relief, he then glares back at the girl.
“Do you have any idea what position you put yourself in? You didn’t have to go searching for me either, you could’ve just communicated with me just fine outside the hotel!”
“I know…” She says again, this time with a sound of guilt in her voice. She knows what she’s doing is illogical, she knows better than that. But her unsettling feeling and the sudden impulse to go try to help surely got the best of her this time. “And I’d hate to see yourself put in danger all because of me and my current struggles. I want to do my very best, and I wouldn’t forgive myself if something happens to you.”
He blinks in mere astonishment, realizing at this point she’s wanting to do whatever she could to fix whatever issue she had made that led him to where he is now. But… it’s certainly not her fault. He chose to do this task on his own, and not entirely because of her. Suppose her feeling of being responsible that led him to venture in the dark hotel, it wouldn’t be right to dismiss her and her concerns so much. He mentally sighs at that, finger combing through his hair with a mix of exhaustion and defeat only to make up his mind.
“Fine. Just stay close to me, alright?” He places a hand on her shoulder while walking past her and looking around the corner to see if the coast is clear. With that, he then motions her to follow right behind him. She looks to be surprised, but makes little time to follow his cue as stealthily as possible. She then notices the bag on the floor and picks it up to carry with her, surely knowing he would need it with them.
The other team members went around to check many of the bedrooms they could find, with little luck knowing they can only do this in so much time. Mitsuru lets out a huff with a sound of frustration yet keeps her mature demeanor for the most part to focus on their current task. It’s too soon to break now. She then turns to two of the members nearby in hopes to have them cover more ground.
“You two check the rooms on that side, we’ll check these ones on the other.”
She wants to make sure they don’t strand too far either. They’ll still be nearby while making the search quicker, so this would be the most ideal. Junpei and Akihiko obey without question, checking the rooms down one side of the hallway while the rest check on the other doors. With the men entering the one empty room and looking around, the one with the blue cap goes to ask.
“My God, check out these rooms! You think this is pink enough?”
“We don’t have time to check out the place, let’s look through the others while we’re at it.” Akihiko gives a calm command to keep themselves moving. While they enter the next empty bedroom with no sign of Chidori or Kotone, Junpei then rubs the side of his head in mere confusion.
“Where the hell are they? You don’t think they’re out in the halls already looking for us too, right?”
For the remaining four members, they have finally struck their luck. Upon entering another decorative bedroom during their search, they noticed two figures immediately upon entering in. The lights in the room are already on, like maybe they have been this entire time. Either way, at least they completed one part of their mission.
“I think I see them!” Makoto announces his finding, having the others enter inside too.
They then all spot the two girls laying in bed next to each other, one of them shifting their feet and yet laying still on the mattress. The other girl happens to be cuddling up to the older student, her face planted in the bosom and her arms wrapped around giving no indication of moving from her comfort spot. The others slowly approach the two, one of them even raising an eyebrow in confusion trying to contemplate the current situation.
Before anyone would make a peep, the auburn-hair girl gently holds her finger up and gives a small ‘shush’ of a sound to the four standing before them. She then whispers, “It’s okay. She’s sound asleep, I can feel her soft snoring right on me. Isn’t this precious?”
“Kotone…!” Yukari was the one raising a brow earlier, as she goes to question her judgment. “You’re telling us that all the while as we wind up under a spell you two were taking a nap!?”
“We don’t mean to intrude your slumber,” Mitsuru gently brushes part of her hair aside as it was in the way of her face. “But we should make haste. We don’t have much more time before finding the Shadows and defeating them. I suggest waking her up and getting ready before we lose too much time.”
The younger redhead then sighs deeply against Kotone’s chest as she happens to hear the unsettling noises from the individuals interrupting her sleep. She then grumbles but doesn’t move from her position. “Just five more minutes please. I want my beauty sleep…”
“Now now sister…” Takaya then palms the side of the bed before kneeling down to their laying position to get closer at them to speak in a reasonable manner. “This is not the time. Remember the two big Shadowy monsters we planned to face tonight on the full moon? It’s time to get a move on, or else they’ll disappear along with the Dark Hour tonight. You wouldn’t want that to happen, now would you?”
The eldest brother talks to the younger sister like trying to get her out of bed to get ready for school. Perhaps he’s been in this similar situation before already, given the lack of exasperation and surprise out of Takaya as is. The others stand by and wait for any reaction to see if his persuasion will work.
The brother then continues. “Do you want to beat up the two Arcanas as promised?”
“Mmhmm…” The girl responds weakly, feeling a bit annoyed to answer but shows to indeed want to take part into battle as stated.
“And see them fall to the ground and plead for mercy before striking them down at the face of death itself?”
“Mmhm!” She then nods under Kotone for that one.
Takaya then smiles fondly knowing she doesn’t deny her own wishes for the sake of more sleep. Their time is running a little thin as they speak. “Well now: Get up and get out there, why don’t you? And show them who’s the real tough nut of this fight. Come on… I know you want to.”
“.... Mmmhhgg…!” Chidori then finally, but lazily, lays straight up from the bed and limply places her feet down on the floor, looking up at the others with dead tired eyes and mildly furrowed brows. Her hair is unkempt in this state, but she couldn’t care less. “I hate all of you right about now.”
The brother then stands up from his kneeling position and offers his hand to pull her up from the bed. “That’s a good girl. Come on now: Let’s find them and make sure they won’t set foot on this fine hotel ever again. Then would you get your beauty sleep...”
While the two go out of their way to get out of the cozy bedroom they were at, the others look mildly awestruck from what just occurred.
“How did he…?” Yukari makes a small comment of a question as Mitsuru then smiles and shakes her head with little to no surprise.
“Perhaps he’s familiar with this kind of experience before. Let’s go: We don’t have much time to waste.”
Meanwhile down at the other side of the floor where a huge door lays with a couple Shadows standing guard, the two wandering students find themselves in this particular location when trying to find the others. Jin peeks around the corners and sees the two Shadows there, quickly drawing his head back to stay completely hidden.
“Do you sense any other Shadows nearby? It would be best not to get caught.” Jin softly asks the girl next to him in case he missed any others.
Fuuka makes a hum as she uses her abilities to search all around, finding something else phenomenal within their range. “I’m sensing some really large energy behind that door… that must be what we’re looking for.”
“You mean those Shadows?” He has to ask just in case. He didn’t mean for any of them to stumble upon the Arcana Shadows the teams are searching for, but while they’re here…
Jin then peeks out around the corner again, this time spectating the guarding Shadows who seem to be minding their own business, not looking to be too much of a hassle to fight from this distance. He then holds his hand out and motions to Fuuka to hand something over. The girl looks confused at first, only to remember she’s holding the drawstring bag in her possession. Within that notice, she hands it over to him, seeing him opening it up and reaching down for something to get. He shuffles around, grabbing a small round object and pulling it out of the bag into his grasp. It’s about the size of an orange, but metallic and gray in color. He clasps it tight close to him, surveying the scene in front of them again before pulling a small pin from the round object with his free hand. He then throws it, having it bounce and roll towards the guarding Shadows direction. The creatures spot notice of the odd round object, crawling towards it to check on what it is. Jin then hides behind the wall once more before the two hear an emit of an explosion from that very location. It takes Fuuka by surprise, given she has no idea what it was and what it did, only to see with her own eyes the aftermath of an explosion down the hall. She then looks over at the young man with a sign of surprise and curiosity.
“What was that just now?”
Jin then puts his drawstring bag back on and adjusts it before walking around the corner. “A prototype. Still a work in progress… come on, let’s keep going.”
The explosion also alerts the two guys down the other hall as they were checking at the nearby bedrooms. Junpei makes a slight jump at the sounds and hesitantly points in the general direction with his thumb.
“What was that just now? A Shadow?”
Akihiko however makes a move to go over to the source of the sound. “I don’t know, but we’ll soon find out. Come on!”
“Wait, we’re heading over there? Now!? Shouldn’t we—?”
By the time he tries asking him, Akihiko already heads off, going into any potential danger this may lead. Jumpei then looks over at the opposing direction as if deciding what to do at the moment. However, he goes after the boxer, surely he shouldn’t be wandering around here alone. “Hey, wait for me pal!”
The next sound to make is the shattering of glass, making Mitsuru and the rest turn towards that sound while they were going to exit the guest room. Makoto happens to be the one to cause that effect, literally breaking the ominous mirror that is up against the wall.
“What are you doing!?” Yukari asks the male leader upon the surprise, as Kotone then shifts her stance to watch what he's doing. She then realizes something.
“Honestly I would break those mirrors too, they were creepy enough as is.”
“Can anybody hear me?” It's Fuuka communicating to the others with her ability. “I noticed an entrance to another room up ahead had their seal weakened. I believe this was the cause of shattering the mirrors, they must've been keeping that door protected.”
“What door are you implying?” Mitsuru asks upon confusion.
“There's a high amount of negative energy behind one particular door that wouldn’t budge. It's not like any of the guest room doors we see here.” The girl elaborates further regarding where the potential enemies they’re looking for might be. “It looks to be more awfully decorative. Try to see if you can find another mirror that has a seal, that shall weaken the door tremendously.”
“We’ll do just that.” Makoto takes her advice and looks for another room with a funky mirror with similar qualities. Kotone then runs after him knowing where the other one will be, since she saw one too before everyone was transported elsewhere.
Meanwhile Yukari then gives a sound of puzzlement. “Well hang on. How does Fuuka know what the door looks like? Can she see things from outside?”
Chidori finds that oddly interesting herself, even with her sleepy eyes still visible to the rest of the cast. “Well I sure can’t do that. Maybe it’s just a guess.”
“... Or she is actually there as we speak,” The long-haired makes the realization as this could be a possibility. “We should hurry! It wouldn’t be like her to wander into the hotel by herself!”
“Then where would that leave Jin?” Mitsuru asks this upon thought, knowing he would be staying by her since the start of the mission. “You can’t say he’s…”
One thud after the next, the blue-haired student with specs rams into the partially-sealed door hoping to bust it open. While it seems weaker now, one seal down isn’t enough to get this door to open. The man curses under his breath, but knows better than to waste his energy before a battle. No way his other weapons will break through either…
While Jin goes to give in on any more potential attack until the final seal is broken, two more individuals show up and find them standing nearby in mild surprise.
“So that’s where the sounds were coming from. What are you two doing inside?” Akihiko goes to ask in a relatively curious manner. Unlike the other team members who would find them in the hotel an irresponsible move, he shows the least amount of judgment.
“Oh, apologies.” Fuuka is the first to answer that for him. “I got worried that I lost you all under my radar—”
“I happened to take a quick trip in here to find where you guys might’ve gone. She wouldn’t stop anxiously pace around otherwise.” Jin finishes answering it for Fuuka, knowing she may just become too modest or apologetic for both of their actions. He did this under his own choice, afterall.
“... And then she followed you inside?” The young man with the cap scratches the back of his head while asking that, seeing she is indeed present with the rest of them too. Fuuka only shows mild embarrassment in response, as Jin makes a side glance but doesn’t comment on that. It’s really nothing to be concerned about in the end.
While it seems as obvious as such, Akihiko then glances over at the decorative door next to them. He then pops his knuckles in eagerness. “Is that where they are? Can’t say that I’m surprised.”
Jin then observes the door as well, assuming as much. “Supposedly, based on Yamagishi’s readings. But the door is still shut tight. The others are still looking for the seal to break it open, in case you two don't know yet.”
Fuuka then goes to speak to the two that just arrived to give them up to date news regarding the team. “And don’t worry: They found Kotone and Chidori safe and sound too. So once they find the seal, the door shall be open.”
“Alriiiight, I’m ready!” Junpei smiles proudly, not only looking forward to the fight, but the fact that they were able to find Chidori at last. He hopes she and the rest can arrive here soon so they could at least fight together. That would make the night all the more better. “Let’s go kick some ass!”
After the seal is found and broken thanks to Makoto and the rest of the members, the seal to the door is finally open, letting the four members in to see what they could find. Inside they see one large Shadow in front of them, startled to see it representing a rather large obese man sitting on its throne. The seat itself has legs in representation of actual human legs with leggings and red high heels on. Sprouting from the back of the small throne the man sits on is a beige-colored woman figure with a flailing head of formed crosses and having their caressing hands all over the man’s head, appearing to be giggling mischievously having them meet their upcoming foes ready to fight. The fight is about to start.
“I sense this one being the Hierophant Arcana. But I can feel another Shadow lurking about… I’d say be careful. Meanwhile I’ll try to look for any weaknesses.”
“We’ll do just that.” Jin summons his Persona first to make any first moves on the enemy. “Moros!”
The silver pendulum-shaped Persona emerges and activates an ailment skill to attack with. The purple-like mist surrounds and poisons the large Shadow, making it look very weary already.
“Nice going! Now let’s see how it likes this!” Akihiko then summons his Persona next to activate its electrical attack, sending it right to the enemy.
This only frightens Fuuka fairly, realizing this only a matter of seconds too late. “W-Wait, Senpai–!”
The electricity sent at the enemy ends up being reflected back right at the boxer student, letting him take the hit instead. He only winces softly in pain, as the others realize it and looks over to check on him.
“Shit, are you okay?” Jin reaches out to him, seeing he didn’t take a big hit but just enough to have him almost kneel down.
Akihiko cockishly smiles in response, rubbing the base of his chin with his hand. “Yeah, of course! It’ll take more than that to knock me down.”
“I’m sorry Akihiko-senpai, I meant to warn you sooner…” Fuuka softly speaks out in grief, while the man surely waves it off.
“It’s okay, I appreciate your effort.”
“Anything else this thing can bounce back…?” Junpei asks somewhat hesitantly, hoping it doesn’t reflect any of his fire skills if possible. Or even his physical skills, which can be troublesome.
Fuuka then shakes her head softly. “That’s the only reflective ability it has. Otherwise dark and light skills won’t affect it.”
“Sounds fair enough. Now we’ll just have to avoid using electricity from now on!” Jin then dodges one of the attacks from the enemy Shadow.
It's Junpei's turn to make an attack, summoning Hermes to use his fire skills at it. Even with the good starting point they have now, it's already overwhelming without the rest of the team here. Jin then takes his turn by having his Persona knock the Shadow on the side, making the enemy somewhat wobbly and losing its balance on its seat. It gives the third-year an idea.
“Try knocking it back and forth until it falls over. It may just give us an advantage for an All-Out.”
“Hmm, doesn't sound like a bad plan,” Akihiko then draws out his evoker to summon his Persona, making a small smile at that idea. “It's better than always attacking aimlessly.”
“If at any chance, try to land a critical hit. It's a small chance but still possible.” Fuuka informs the team regarding the plan, showing a feeling of hope that this could indeed work.
Junpei shows a cocky smile as he summons his Persona himself, gaining the confidence. “Alright Hermes, it's time to shine!”
The rest of the group are slowly catching up as they speak, pacing down the halls where they believe the two Arcana Shadows would be located. Mitsuru and Makoto are making the haste pace, almost leaving the rest of the team behind as the one other redhead is dragging behind. The brunette of the team then looks back to see Chidori taking it slow and steady, not trying to keep up due to her still being tired. Her eyes are half-lidded, looking down to the floor in front of her as Takaya tries to get her to start walking faster. While it’s obvious he’s being considerate of her reason not to do so, he also wants the rest of the team to slow down so she can catch up that way. Yukari then slows down to match Chidori’s pace so she walks next to her, letting out a smile and matching her speed.
It takes a moment longer for Chidori to realize that, only glancing back at her only to look back at the floor again. “You don’t have to stay behind for me too, you know. I’ll keep up.”
“Yeah, well…” Yukari then tilts her head in somewhat of an agreement. It certainly doesn’t mean she can’t. “Sometimes I like keeping away from the crowd too. It’s nice to have the space to breathe.”
The girl just hums with a giggle, taking Mitsuru’s attention as she looks behind her to see the two girls talking at a fair distance. The third-year then smiles, knowing at least she’s having someone to talk to in these trying times. However, this peaceful moment can’t last much longer.
“You guys are almost there, I can tell.” Fuuka reaches out to the team. “Akihiko-senpai and Junpei-kun are with us as well, but I’m not sure when the other enemy should arrive. Please hurry.”
“Understood.” Mitsuru answers promptly to her request, making her speed walk now into a jog and a run towards their destination. “Let’s go, we have no time to lose.”
Back at the boss fight, each and every fighter takes a shot at the enemy to make it wobble side to side, trying to knock it over. With each Persona either using a physical skill to effectively push much force on the Shadow, two of the throne legs would lift from the floor, making it a good chance for gravity to take advantage of this opportunity. The winged deity then lands a critical hit right at its seat just as it is already slanted from the previous attacks. The monster then finally loses its balance, the throne’s leg trying to hold its stance until the entire Shadow falls down to the hard fancy floor. The fire-user manages to make the final blow, even inflicting more damage than usual. The Shadow then tries getting back up, but judging by the size of the Shadow and the lack of support it has itself, it's pointless to even try.
“Bravo, you knocked down the enemy!” Fuuka exclaims proudly to the team upon their efforts. The Shadow then continues struggling with no success.
Junpei then grins and adjusts his hat before getting a good grip on his sword. “We got ‘em right where we want it! Let’s take it out!”
“I’ve been waiting for this.” Akihiko then smirks and holds up his fist to make the first strike.
The three go up close and personal with the wobbly enemy being attacked at all angles, leaving little to defend itself. After their moment to give it their all, they back out from previous cautionary habits. The enemy then finally manages to bring itself back on its already weakened throne, already showing little energy to fight back.
“Haha, looks like we got ourselves an easy victory. How about one more round and finish this guy off?” Junpei goes for his evoker again, being more than ready to summon his Persona and make another attack on it. The Shadows shows to be wary and makes itself an easy target to make the same strategy, so nothing should go wrong.
However, Fuuka gasps suddenly and darts around warily in the room. “Hold on— I’m sensing another enemy!”
The men then stop and look around as well, keeping their guard up. They know it would be too soon to finish this night when the other team members haven’t made it to their location yet. Even then, no other person would be able to predict when the other Shadow would appear.
The sudden arrival of a heart-shaped Shadow comes from behind the already wounded enemy as it then makes its first move. Arrows appear from the jelly-like Shadow and aim right at the team members, with them being able to avoid most of the piercing attack. Akihiko this time goes for an electric attack on the enemy, having little doubt this one would have the same immunity to it.
“Polydeuces!” The boxer sends out his Person with the evoker as he commands it to attack, sending waves of electricity at the floating Shadow. It seems to do something at least, seeing it stake off and remaining electrical shock from it as it then absorbs energy straight out of the third-year. Akihiko suddenly feels weak, his knees even shaking to give out. “The hell…?”
“It appears to have draining abilities for health and spirit power… please be wary you guys. This one has a different tactic from the previous enemy.” Fuuka warns the guys after observing the enemy, seeing this can easily be a tough battle if they aren’t careful.
However, the previous Shadow that was knocked down before got back up to sit on its throne, creating a strike attack to target straight at Jin. He takes the blow, even sneering at the light damage it made. He summons Moros to throw an attack right back at the Shadow.
“Have no fear, I can take this one on!” Junpei goes against the Arcana Lovers with the wield of his sword to make the attack. The Shadow realizes the close presence and emits a rose-colored aura as it sends its way to the student with success. The other team members then look at Junpei with slight hesitation.
“Iori…!?”
“Junpei, are you alright?” Akihiko voices his sign of concern right after Jin, also realizing he didn’t seem to take any actual damage. Of course it doesn’t mean they can’t check on him, he must’ve gotten a status condition instead.
The man with the sword then has his body moving wobbly and awkwardly, like he doesn’t have control over his own body. The eerie sight does make them worry even more. The young man’s eyes glow bright orange with his face flushed pink and a nasty grin of a smile. Two of the members then back up with puzzlement.
“Junpei-kun–!? Whoa!” Akihiko then steps back swiftly to avoid the sudden swing of the man’s sword going right at him. “The hell!?”
Jin then takes a few steps back in case he goes after him next, which predictably enough he does. Junpei’s attacks are aimless and wild, even the third-years have a hard time avoiding them so easily as they still show major confusion of his actions.
Right as Junpei takes another swing at the student with the specs, Jin pulls out his two knives and holds them up to block his attack. He could barely hold him off with the comparison of their weapons and strength. He grunts out, “Hey, will you knock it off!? We’re on your side asshole!”
Junpei then laughs like a maniac, something that would be heard from a clown horror movie to make this all the more fearsome. This only makes Jin only slightly pissed off as he forces him back with whatever strength he could use. Akihiko then attacks Junpei from behind before he would take a chance to strike anyone else. “God damnit, what is wrong with you!? Snap out of it already!”
Fuuka then watches this from afar as she tries to make out what the status condition actually is inflicted on the second-year. “He’s affected by Charm! Because of the Shadow it makes him turn against his own teammates.”
“Well no shit!” Jin mutters out loud as he avoids another attack from the affected user. “He’s trying to chop us into pieces from the way he’s swinging that thing!”
“So what now!?” Akihiko pants for a moment to get his breath back. “Do we go after the Shadow, or find some way to smack him out of it?”
“The latter should be your best option,” Fuuka answers sincerely, despite the pressured situation. “But don’t try to hurt him too much. A simple attack or two may do the trick…”
“Tch, screw it then,” Jin keeps his stance with his weapons still in his hands to take a shot at the love-controlled Junpei. “Gives me an excuse to finally kick his ass.”
Akihiko goes first by going for a light punch, but somehow it doesn’t faze Junpei at all. The young man swings back with his sword, his grin still wide and sinister with that hysterical laugh of his. “Hahaha, what’s wrong Mr. Senpai!? Aren’t you man enough to stop me?? Haaa!”
Jin then joins in by kicking the young man against his back to knock him down. Junpei lands face first, his rear up in the air while sounding weary from the attack. Jin then sighs in relief and yet some irritation, finally showing to be laxed as he sees the man lying on the ground. “That should do it…”
The young man’s hand still grips tight around his sword and shoots straight back up effortlessly. This is making the two third-years mildly uncomfortable while they return to their battle positions.
“You gotta be kidding me…” Akihiko sighs out but is ready to throw another punch at the man once he starts running. The mind-controlled Junpei then approaches fast, giving the two little time to react appropriately for a counter attack.
“Watch out!” The blue-haired student shouts out so he and Akihiko can move out of the way to avoid Junpei’s attack altogether. At the door, Yukari enters into the room where the protruding Junpei leads to to see the young woman in front of him. His laugh then becomes sinister and deviant as his eyes lay on her from head to toe, then full-on to her chest.
“Whoohoo Yuka-tan! I forgot just how hot you look in dat outfit hehe, lemme get a closer look at you will ya…!”
“Ew, you sicko!” The brunette gets startled by his remarks and quickly moves out of his way.
Behind her is Chidori with a tired yet deadpan expression as she shows no emotion at the man running towards her. It’s only when he gets up and personal with the redhead when he puts her hand up and slaps the man across the face to push him aside. It makes a loud smack of a noise, giving notice to practically everyone nearby what just happened. Junpei almost falls to his knees as he then rubs the side of his face in sudden confusion.
“Huh!? What just…?” His eye color returns to normal as he looks at everyone with a few blinks. His cheek hurts, but he doesn’t know why.
Jin realizes the change of attitude almost instantly. As much as he wanted to give Junpei another piece of his mind after the kick, he is more relieved to have their member back in their right mind. “Oh good, he’s back. Thanks for that, Chidori.”
“Uh-huh…” The girl shows no care of what was going on and joins the battlefield to get this battle over with. She takes out her chained hatchet and stares right at the floating heart-shaped Persona with her dead eyes, taking no more hocus-pocus for this night. She takes a wild swing at the Shadow and hit it right in the midst of its head as it then cries in agony.
While everyone else takes their position into battle to take on the Shadows, Akihiko then turns towards Mitsuru with a slight smile in relief of his own. “Took you guys long enough. Where are you guys?”
“Hmph, funny. I should have asked you that.” Mitsuru replies with a tilt of her head, knowing he and Junpei were the ones who left from their previous mission to wind themselves here with the Shadows. “Doesn’t matter now. Now that we’re all here, let’s take them down as swiftly as possible.”
“Now that’s what I like to hear. A performance isn’t worth delaying.” Takaya smiles sincerely at the thought as he draws out his gun to shoot right at the Arcana Hierophant Shadow. With a few bullets shooting straight through the Shadow, the enemy then falls down from its throne once more.
The other enemy then casts the same previous spell right at Takaya to get him charmed. However, the move failed. “Seriously? Is that the best you can muster?”
Fuuka goes to warn the others about the potential Charm attack, but fortunately the team doesn't have to deal with that problem as much as they come around to finish off the first enemy before the second. The Lovers Shadow hasn’t gotten much success after the first time it casted the charm skill, giving the team a worthwhile victory.
“Well done everyone! The battle is now over.” Fuuka applauds the team for their efforts in taking down the two Shadows in the hotel. While half of the team barely felt it as a challenge, the other half were somewhat exhausted in knowing they did some of the work before everyone else did. That, or they are simply too tired to process the victory themselves.
“I’m going to bed. I’ll see you all later.” Chidori goes to get out of the room, the hotel entirely, first before everyone else follows along.
Mitsuru then walks up to the young navigator in her own sense of judgment. “May I ask why you entered the hotel in the first place? Surely that wasn’t the safest tactic for someone with no way to defend themselves in battles. I know you can sense Shadows regardless of distance, but what if something were to happen to you once you entered here?”
Fuuka then glances down at the floor with her hands folded in front of her. Like a guilty puppy who found itself to be in trouble, the girl meekly speaks up. “I do apologize Mitsuru-senpai, it was just…”
“It was my fault, Mitsuru.” Jin walks over to the two after overhearing the conversation on his way out of the room, only to notice the tension of the situation and take action from there. “I’ll take full responsibility in regards to it. I ran inside in search of you and the others after she told me how she lost track of everyone, only for her to run after me to make sure I was safe.”
“Is that so?” Mitsuru did have her suspicions on why they both entered the building, but she didn’t think that’d be the reason. “Well it was still a reckless decision to make. For both you and Yamagishi. She had no reason to enter the building with the kind of ability she has.”
“I’m aware of that.” Jin gives his insight on the manner. “She’s still somewhat new to the operation though, so I’d say give her some slack. We’ll both make sure it won’t happen again.”
Fuuka looks back and forth at the two third-years wondering what the final conclusion to this debate would be. She knows what she did, and surely Jin is more than willing to take the blame for everything that has happened. However, it certainly doesn’t make her feel that much better about herself and the actions she made.
The older redhead then makes a hum to that. “Very well. I know you two are mature enough about this and therefore responsible, so I hope you don’t attempt another stunt like this.”
Jin gives a light bow in agreement to the young woman before she takes her leave outside the room. Fuuka feels a sudden rush of relief knowing there wouldn’t be anymore scolding from Mitsuru-senpai. Even then, she can’t let this guilt go so easily.
“I appreciate it Jin-senpai, but I can’t help but feel terrible about having you step in.”
“...Why?” Jin asks somewhat awestruck. “I was just being honest. It was in fact my decision to run inside in the first place, only for you to follow right after. Sure what you did was… not the best thing to do, but, honestly,” He shrugs in thought. “I should’ve just stayed where I was at. I had no reason to throw myself in there.”
“Well sure, but,” Fuuka mentally shakes her head in that doubt. “I don’t know, if it wasn’t for me saying anything in the first place, we would’ve—!”
“Hey, you did what you think was for the best.” Jin kindly argues the point, keeping his voice low and even. “Ok? Don’t beat yourself up over it. You were scared, you didn’t know what to do. And I was only trying to help by finding them for you.”
She can’t argue about that. As much as she would, he knew he meant well even when seeing her in distress. It makes her appreciate him more, as he finds her caring nature for the team somewhat admirable. Of course there is a fine line when not to put their own lives at risk.
“With that being said— in case we run into this similar problem again, don’t go running and chasing around unless you happen to have someone else or two with you to keep you out of harm’s way. Am I being clear on that, at least?”
Fuuka looks up and smiles at her Senpai before making a light nod in response. “Yes, crystal.”
He grins slightly upon her understanding. He’s aware she is more obligated to follow clear instructions than most of the other members of the team, so chances are she’ll rarely make the same mistake twice. He then sees that everyone else is already gone, leaving them as the last two inside the large room. He looks back at her and quickly nods over to the entrance door.
“C’mon, let’s catch up to the others.”
The team surely makes it out of the hotel while the green full moon still shines brightly from above with little trouble in sight. Akihiko and Takaya are the ones making it out of the building first followed by Junpei who’s rubbing the side of his cheek in dismay. He still feels a slight sting from earlier, but doesn’t recall how exactly that happened.
“Aww man, why do I feel so sore?” The man whimpers in very mild agony.
The boxer then looks behind him to hear the young puzzled man. “You haven’t been training hard enough. You’ve seemed to be slacking a lot lately.”
Rather than giving him the full story of how it all went down, he decides to twist the truth of the reason as an excuse to tease him. Junpei, even still mildly puzzled, easily takes his answer. “Oh, is that why? Huh…”
Everyone else gets out of the hotel with Jin and Fuuka as the last ones heading out. The brunette of the group nudges against the male leader just to tell him not a word, keeping their experience in the hotel room a secret. Junpei for sure wants to forget what he saw during that time with Takaya, who only wore a towel around him and nothing more. Other than that, he seems more concerned with the sore cheek he keeps rubbing, but he can’t complain if it only means having time pass to heal.
With the group then heading their way back to the dorms to finally get a goodnight’s rest, another being seems to be lurking in the dark up on the rooftop of some other building. The figure shows to be larger than average and covered in black, like a Shadow during the Dark Hour. Its long dark fingers clench on the edge of the roof material, surveying over the individuals walking down at the ground floor in eerie silence. Its eyes are shaped in an angry furrow and glows a bright golden color, as it slowly inches across the roof to keep an eye on the students down below. With it, it pauses right at the edge of the building where it can’t venture any further, making a low growl and continuing watching from its own safe distance.
Chidori suddenly turns around swiftly in feeling the presence of another individual nearby, looking up only to see no one in sight. She glances around for any further inspection, getting a sense of suspicion and puzzlement from the odd sensation.
“Is something wrong, sister?” Takaya happens to turn around to see the puzzled girl who paused during their walk.
Chidori then looks back at the older brother with no further concern of her own, and so shakes her head. “It’s nothing… I suppose.”
Even with the sound of hesitation in her voice, Takaya then smiles at the sister before continuing his walk with the others. The young redhead notices this feeling she has is different than what she usually feels… maybe it was nothing after all. She’s tired, and she has made that clear already. She’s probably just too exhausted to comprehend anything at the moment while seeking to crawl into her bed and get some shut eye. God she really despises that hotel now because of it.
