Finished Fic: Traitor

Damn it feels so good to finish things! What started as a tumblr drabble last November in response to @ideklolwat's fic "Left at the Altar" blossomed into one of the most interesting writing challenges I've ever done. Our subsequent collaboration produced in essence twin fics - Korra and Wan's story in "Left at the Altar," and Asami and Iroh's corresponding story in a new companion fic, which I called "Traitor." My job was to take whatever was happening in LATA as canon and write the other half, chapter by chapter, showing the same or related events from the perspective of the other side of Korra and Asami's messy break up. It was at times very hard and not at all straightforward, but overall incredibly rewarding. As I'm sure both Korra and Asami would say as well. May everyone live happily every after. Eventually.

i think the main reason why i dont care for wanorra n wanorruk (both of which are avatar wan/avatar korra n avatar wan/avatar korra/avatar kuruk respectively) anymore is cause i kin one of these avatars (or at least an au version of them) and cause in the my timeline i wasnt dating either of them, we lived in the same apartment building sure but we were never attracted to each other, not to mention that the korra in my timeline was exclusively dating mako, wu n asami n wasnt looking for anymore partners, while i stayed happily single not to mention that wan (or me? idk who i am tbh, either wan or kuruk) was happily aroace n didn’t want not even a slightly romantic relationship

also even if i (or kuruk?) wasnt grieving ummi, i still wouldnt look at korra n wan (or me?) romantically or sexually due to how rarely our paths crossed, n if they do then its almost always about how our day’s been or how kuruk’s (mine?) therapy sessions have been going, all our talks are always more causal then flirty or romantic due to the fact that korra’s happily taken n we’re happily single (or at kuruk (me?) is starting to become happily single)

not to mention that realistically, none of us would even go for each other, our dating preferences n the type of ppl we’re attracted to are so drastically different that even if we DID date, we wouldnt work out n would fall apart within the same week we got together

@/ideklolwat sorry that we wouldnt work out in my timeline but then again, wanorra/wanorruk prolly wouldve never worked out in general

Irosami Holiday Fic Recs!

Tis the season to be jolly, and that includes my favorite couple.

"A Future Industries Fling" by obsidian_irises. Asami lets her hot co-worker take her home to his penthouse after an office holiday party. He does not disappoint.

"The Realists Guide to Romance", "Mistletoe and Mischief," and "Merry Christmas, Iroh" by @badlucksav. Three very different spins on an Irosami holiday find our pair first as the losers in a Hallmark classic. Dumped by their partners for small-town love, these big city power players find themselves unexpectedly single in transit. In the second fic, Iroh lies to his family about having a girlfriend to get them off his back, only to have them insist he bring her home for the holidays. Finally, married Irosami prove their relationship is still spicy and full of surprises.

"The Naughty List" by @authorjoydragon, in which Irosami's Mr. and Mrs. Claus costumes prove entirely too distracting.

"Kiss" by @old-and-new-friends (part of a collection of Winter-themed prompts). Iroh struggles to find the right time for a first kiss.
