probably time for this story i guess but when i was a kid there was a summer that my brother was really into making smoothies and milkshakes. part of this was that we didn't have AC and couldn't afford to run fans all day so it was kind of important to get good at making Cool Down Concoctions.

we also had a patch of mint, and he had two impressionable little sisters who had the attitude of "fuck it, might as well."

at one point, for fun, this 16 year old boy with a dream in his eye and scientific fervor in heart just wanted to see how far one could push the idea of "vanilla mint smoothie". how much vanilla extract and how much mint can go into a blender before it truly is inedible.

the answer is 3 cups of vanilla extract, 1/2 cup milk alternative, and about 50 sprigs (not leaves, whole spring) of mint. add ice and the courage of a child. idk, it was summer and we were bored.

the word i would use to describe the feeling of drinking it would maybe be "violent" or perhaps, like. "triangular." my nose felt pristine. inhaling following the first sip was like trying to sculpt a new face. i was ensconced in a mesh of horror. it was something beyond taste. for years after, i assumed those commercials that said "this is how it feels to chew five gum" were referencing the exact experience of this singular viscous smoothie.

what's worse is that we knew our mother would hate that we wasted so much vanilla extract. so we had to make it worth it. we had to actually finish the drink. it wasn't "wasting" it if we actually drank it, right? we huddled around outside in the blistering sun, gagging and passing around a single green potion, shivering with disgust. each sip was transcendent, but in a sort of non-euclidean way. i think this is where i lost my binary gender. it eroded certain parts of me in an acidic gut ecology collapse.

here's the thing about love and trust: the next day my brother made a different shake, and i drank it without complaint. it's been like 15 years. he's now a genuinely skilled cook. sometimes one of the three of us will fuck up in the kitchen or find something horrible or make a terrible smoothie mistake and then we pass it to each other, single potion bottle, and we say try it it's delicious. it always smells disgusting. and then, cerimonious, we drink it together. because that's what family does.

I bet he would love baking so much, and he takes it so seriously when you tell him the best kind of treats are the ones made with love! I actually have a plot bunny about teaching P how to bake and cook floating around in my notes that I’m excited to get some time to work on.

The growl of a stomach and the pang of hunger had initially concerned P, who tugged on your sleeve urgently. As you turned to face him his stomach rumbled again, you laughed at his mounting concern and explained that it sounded like he was hungry.

“You know, like how when I wake up I always have something to eat? Like that.” You soothed, the worry lines in his brow settling. 

This was something normal, something human. 

He was now very excited about the prospect of a new human thing he’d be able to try, and eating was something he’d been longing to do, watching you eat tended to be awkward and everything you made looked so appetising.

“I think I have something in the pantry you’ll really like.” You beamed, dragging him into the hotel’s kitchen.

You swung open the pantry doors and rummaged a bit, P looked over your shoulder curiously. The pantry wasn’t filled to the brim but what was in there he wasn’t familiar with at all, tins, cartons and baskets full of food and ingredients he didn’t know the name of.

“Ah hah!” You cheered, pulling a white, metal box from the pantry. “I promise you’ll love these!”

You popped off the lid and inside where multiple yellow discs with brown pieces scattered throughout them, he tilted his head and you waved the box in front of him,

“Try one! They’re homemade.” You coaxed, not that he would take much convincing when it came to you.

“Home… made?” He took a disc, the paper surrounding them crinkling, you also took one for yourself before placing the box on the countertop beside you. 

“It means it was made in the home, I made these ones myself. Some people believe the best kind of food is made with love, which you get plenty of in homemade cooking!” You explained, his eyes widened owlishly, throughly impressed once again by your abilities and your knowledge. You’d said before that they weren’t exactly difficult skills to pick up but he didn’t know how to make a… wait what is this thing?

“What… is it?” He questioned, turning the disc over in his hands. 

“It’s a chocolate chip cookie.” It was solid in his hand but the surface had a bounce to it, he brought it up to his mouth and was even more eager to try it now that he could smell it. 

You watched his reaction closely as he bit into the treat, any hesitance was quickly replaced with pure joy as he rushed to finish the rest of the cookie. 

“You like it?” You asked, and you got an enthusiastic nod in response, a giggle bubbling up from P’s throat boyishly. “Would you like another?”

“Yes!” He beamed, you held the box back out to him and he took another cookie for himself but stopped short when he noticed that you hadn’t done the same.

He frowned, looked at the cookie and then back at you before splitting the treat down the middle and offering one half to you. “Love should… be shared.”

You couldn’t agree more.

Please let me know if this is too weird..but what do you think the guys would smell like? LOL not in a creepy way but in like a general scent/fav cologne type way. So many fics describe Kyle as smelling like vanilla and I just don’t get that? He is a sandlewood-pine guy to me. I think Stan would be specifically the charcoal scent from old spice and weed. Idk it just fits him. Kenny is axe body spray and cigarettes for sure. Cartman has some expensive scent like sauvage that he scammed someone into giving him for free

Everyone says Cartman would smell like body odor and cheesy poofs but y’know what? ai don’t see that. His mom taught him good hygiene. And also I feel like he’s into stuff like soaps and perfumes. If anything Cartman would smell like vanilla. He would either smell like some weird as soap like ‘cotton candy mango bliss’ or he would smell like a vape because he probably wears perfume/has all these fruity ass soaps he loves.

Stan would smell like Axe to me. He would probably be that one fucker in the locker room who douses himself with Axe because he wants to cover the smell of weed from his father’s farm. He probably has a little hint of like…burning smell because I feel like he would smoke in high school. He smokes cigarettes tho, none of the newer stuff.

Kyle has always smelled like pine to me ngl. Maybe it’s because pine is one of my favorite scents but like…I dunno. He just strikes me as the kind of guy who would smell like pine. Probably because he likes to go for runs (in high school at least, I don’t wanna hear the “B-BuT hE sAiD hEs NoT OuTdOoRsY!’ that doesn’t mean he wouldn’t like…run outside? But yeah. He smells like pine because he runs around in the forest for exercise. He would probably also smell like his mom’s cooking ngl.

Kenny…he would honestly smell pretty bad ngl. Cigarettes, burning wood, motor oil, body odor, chemicals from cleaning dishes…it’s one hell of a smell. I feel like once his friends start noticing that like…he can’t afford to shower, he would be brought over to either Kyle or Butters’ homes. They probably end up buying him whatever soap he wants. He gives me the vibe that he would like citrus smells. So Id say his early teenage years when hes working like eight jobs, he would smell like the things listed before. After that into his later years he kinda smells more like citrus and burning wood.

the answer to the question of "is vector espio and charmys dad or older brother" is that hes basically charmys dad but to espio he is a secret third thing. some kind of in between of the two options. you cant really fit their relationship into one of the traditional family role boxes but theyre family and thats all that matters. btw.

One of the things I loved most about the Gale romance arc (and, spoilers from here folks, as well as talk of sex and kink):

I loved how Gale's Act 2 romance scene is written in such a way where the writers are aware they're asking you the player to be part of something rather nontraditional and that it may not be for everyone. And it isn't. But you're asked multiple times throughout the course of the scene if you consent to what is about to happen. I recall three to be exact, with one being after Gale introduces the Astral Projection sex angle. And that's three chances to tell him you want to have sex with him, but you do not want to do the Astral Projection stuff. There are options to hard stop the sex completely, too.

Just...the amount of care that went into writing that scene, down to how the player is informed about where the scene intends to go and extends an out even at that point. It truly felt like I was able to give informed consent to participating in that act, not just as my character (who was all in btw), but also as a player who may not want or be able to watch a more explicit and nontraditional sex scene, but who doesn't want to be locked out of the romance all the same.

It's a video game, so I don't expect to see characters sitting down and ironing out the details of their kinky nontraditional sex. But the fact that I went into the bulk of the scene with information enough to know whether I wanted to proceed and the ability to opt out if I didn't want to take part was really important.
