i feel you anon! despite all the years i've identified as butch and how far i've come, in many ways i'm still in that struggle. but in a lot of ways the struggle has also transformed

it no longer feels like i'm at risk of failing (or that it's even possible to fail) it feels like i'm climbing. the climbing requires effort, it can be rough – but i see all the progress i've made, how much more comfortable i am in my own skin now than i was just a few years ago, and i know i'm on the right path. the struggle to look and feel like myself hasn't gone away, but it's become an exciting, triumphant kind of struggle... and there's a lot of comfort that exists alongside it. all in all it's a pretty damn good place to be.

and you'll get there too, anon. no matter how demoralized you may feel now or may feel in the future, always keep one stubborn hand clutched on your dream. do it in secret if you have to. keep working on it little by little, and you'll get someplace good. it's worked for me at least
