There's a huge thing that I really have to get off of my chest lately; We all know the story of The Hunchback of Notre Dame besides than the Disney adaptation.

When there are these Guys (Frollo, Phoebus, and Quasimodo) who have feelings for this Girl (Esmeralda) and judging by on how in some adaptations where Quasi ends up with Esmeralda.

There is just one question I've always wondered throughout its different adaptations over the years; Is Esmeralda supposed to be the Love Interest of Quasimodo this whole time since he joined her in heaven at the end of the book? Or am I just overthinking it too much?

I know that in the Disney version, Quasi doesn't end up with Esme or Frollo does have feelings for Esmeralda but Frollo's feelings are just LUSTFUL feelings, Lust does not equal Love (there is a Difference).

Ah— well as someone who has read the book. Book Esmeralda is a DUMB BUNNY! Oh my god! She is so dumb!

And she ends up with no one. Phoebus is about to be married to Fleur, but he wanted to have a one night stand with Esmeralda. Esmeralda foolishly thinks he’s in love. Frollo’s been simping for Esmeralda and stabs Phoebus in the tavern and frames it on Esmeralda. But Phoebus didn’t die and thinks Esmeralda still stabbed him. Totally leaving her to die for a crime she didn’t even do.

She’s saved by Quasimodo, but she demands he fetches Phoebus— who wants nothing to do with her now. And when he comes back empty handed Esmeralda blames HIM!

Frollo in the meantime keeps begging her and begging her to love him. Even stabbed his own chest when she was being tortured— since he couldn’t stand to watch her being hurt. But Esmeralda refused him. At this point Frollo can do better. But is too thirsty to give up.

Everyone dies— but Phoebus who is in a loveless marriage to his cousin.

the funniest meltdown ive ever had was in college when i got so overstimulated that i could Not speak, including over text. one of my friends was trying to talk me through it but i was solely using emojis because they were easier than trying to come up with words so he started using primarily emojis as well just to make things feel balanced. this was not the Most effective strategy... until. he tried to ask me "you okay?" but the way he chose to do that was by sending "👉🏼👌🏼❓" and i was so shocked by suddenly being asked if i was dtf that i was like WHAT????
