The aroaspec experience of ‘Is this romantic attraction or just platonic. What even is attraction. Where is the line. Help.’ and then proceeding to question societal norms of attraction for a while without coming to any actual conclusion to your question.

Ngl, being able to edit things here is cool, other media don't have this option so all you have to do is delete or slowly die every time you remember that mistake🥲
WELL– in that case it would be really fun to see Yelena just being a big softie to reader and end up getting caught by her friends doing so, then everyone would make fun of her or something (it would probably be their last time making fun of something in their lives, poor souls.
I saw that you still have things to write, so no hurry (and good luck with all this-). Also, Your writing is really good so it will be good anyway, but I'm sure you'll get it!
passive-aggressive magic tricks [Y.Belova]
Tumblr media
pairing: yelena belova x reader
summary: a fun game night with your friends takes a turn when they realize how much of a soft dork the russian turns into when she's around you.
warnings: none, i think [except peter being verbally attacked every other paragraph lmao]; so much dialogue; a weirdly written game of uno; just...so much chaos; never written for yelena before so feel free to yell at me if she's too ooc in this one
wordcount: 1.2k
a/n: this gif makes me feel things gonna start this off by saying that this is meant to be romantic but you can read it as platonic if you want. i know everyone has an opinion on yelena's sexuality and not everyone will agree with mine and that's okay! [just don't be a jerk about it. i personally think yelena is a demiromantic asexual so do with that what you will] ALSO, this is so chaotic and borderline nonsensical and you can blame 🌟 for making me think about yelena playing uno that one time. ALSO ALSO, thank you for the vote of confidence, lovely anon, this was actually really fun to write and i hope you enjoy <3
* * * * * * *
“This sucks,” Kate declares with a pout.
“Don’t be such a crybaby, Kate Bishop.” Yelena’s words only make the archer’s pout deepen which makes the whole situation feel even more ridiculous.
“Yeah, Kate,” you jump in. “You’re the one who started talking shit in the first place.”
An offended gasp escapes her lips at your accusation. “I wasn’t talking shit! I was being honest about my skills.”
This time, Peter cuts in before the blonde gets a chance to make fun of the archer again. “Guys, I thought we decided against Monopoly so we wouldn’t fight.”
“Fighting is Yelena’s love language,” you reply with a shrug.
You pretend not to notice the way the Russian’s lips quirk up into a small smile and instead focus on Kate and her awful decision-making skills. It takes her a few extra seconds and she still manages to choose the most annoying card in her hand.
“It took you two minutes to throw in a plus-four?” Peter questions, clearly doing his best to not sound judgemental.
“Shut up and take the cards, Pete.”
The boy grumbles something you don’t quite catch but Kate is quick to punch him in the arm, earning herself a kick to the shin. Their dynamic is certainly…interesting and you can’t stop yourself from wondering how much of it comes from being two only children attempting to one-up each other.
Yelena leans in toward you, pretending to whisper. “Why are we hanging out with them again?”
The pair clearly overhears her considering both the glare and the pout that gets thrown your way. You merely shrug in response, attempting to shield your cards from her expert gaze. “It’s…entertaining, I guess.”
“You guys are jerks,” Kate says, speaking the thoughts Peter is far too nice to vocalize. (It’s definitely not because he’s terrified of getting on Yelena’s bad side.)
“And you suck at Uno.”
She rolls her eyes at you but decides not to reply. The small moment of silence allows Peter to take his turn and the game continues…until Yelena decides to betray you.
You’re not fully paying attention to the strategies each one of your companions is forming which means you don’t realize it when they decide to team up against you.
You’re only four cards away from winning and the blonde beside you can’t stop herself from sneaking a look at your deck. Kate somehow manages to catch her in the act and the two stare each other down until the archer raises an eyebrow, silently asking to be a part of the Russian’s plan.
A plan that quickly leads to Kate placing down another plus-four card and Peter being thrown one of Yelena’s under the table.
“We can stack, right?” He asks, mainly in an attempt to keep you from noticing what they’re doing.
“Yeah, that’s fine,” you reply with a shrug. “Just don’t be surprised when Yelena pulls out a knife from her boot.”
The joke gets a few chuckles, and a slightly concerned look from the young Avenger.
“Do not worry, Spider-Boy, I promised y/n I wouldn’t threaten you…again.”
“Right…” Peter’s clearly not convinced but he throws in his card anyway.
You turn to face Yelena with a smug smirk. “Sorry, babe, but it looks like I’m on my way to winning this round.”
“You sound like Kate Bishop.” She playfully rolls her eyes at you but the glint in her eyes shows off more amusement than annoyance. “I hope you handle losing better than she does, though.”
“Hey!” You and the archer both voice your protests, albeit for different reasons, as the blonde slams down the last plus-four card needed to ensure you won’t win any time soon.
This time around, she’s the one who looks at you with a smug grin but you’re too busy being dramatic to fully appreciate how good she looks when she’s being competitive. It’s genuinely just a stupid card game and yet you pull out all the tricks you’ve learned over the past few months to get the Russian to melt into the huge softie she is at heart.
“Oh, come on, that was mean.” You pull on your best impression of Kate’s wounded puppy dog look. A look that includes slightly wide eyes and an incredibly deep pout.
A pout Yelena has never been good at resisting. (But only when it comes to you, much to the archer’s dismay)
She, literally and figuratively, keeps her cards close to her chest but you catch the way her free hand twitches slightly, almost as if she’s fighting to keep herself from touching you. It’s strange how affectionate she wants to be with you when she’s always been the first to pull away from a hug, the first one to scoot away when someone sits too close.
Being guarded had always felt like second nature to her until you came along.
Her hand reaches out before she can stop it, landing on your knee and giving it a soft yet reassuring squeeze. It's a subtle reminder that underneath all her sarcasm and the rough edges, she cares about you. A lot more than she ever thought herself capable of.
“It’s just a game, sweetheart.” The words are a mere whisper but somehow the person with the worst attention span you’ve ever seen manages to overhear them.
“Did you just call y/n ‘sweetheart’?” Kate blurts out, clearly far too shocked to worry about her safety. “You actually have feelings?”
“Wait, did she really say that?” Peter’s slightly more cautious but there’s both awe in curiosity shining in his brown eyes.
“I heard her!”
“I think you hit your head too hard on your last mission, Bishop,” you reply, trying to steer the conversation away the second Yelena starts glaring at your friends.
Despite all her other skills, Kate is still awful at reading the room so instead of accepting the safety you’re offering, she decides to be stubborn like always. “Don’t lie to me, y/n, I know what I heard. Yelena’s just a big-”
“A big what?” The blonde cuts in with the most threatening glare she can manage. Which, considering she’s an ex-assassin, is quite effective at shutting the archer up.
“Um…” You can practically see the wheels spinning in the brunette’s head as she tries to come up with something different to say. She clearly fails based on the words that come out. “A big softie..?”
“Oh, Kate,” you sigh. “You’re never going to learn to stop poking the bear, huh?”
“What do you mean?”
Her confusion lasts for about a second before Yelena shoots up from the couch and lunges toward her. The archer gets the message pretty quickly after that, expertly ducking out of the way and taking off running in the direction of the bathroom.
All you can do is laugh and shake your head as the Russian chases after her. “Go easy on her, babe!”
“Yeah, Yelena, listen to your girlfriend!”
“Kate!” You and the Russian yell out at the same time, leading to a fit of giggles belonging to the biggest instigator you've ever met.
"So much for a chill game night," Peter mumbles, placing his cards onto the coffee table. "You're gonna go help Kate out, right?"
You shrug. "I'll think about it."

hello!! i was wondering if i could get a ROTTMNT character match up (when ur free and got the time!!)??
i go by many many online names, but usually i stick with sandra! i'm southeast asian, 5'2, and gender non conforming. i got black hair that's in a medium-length butterfly haircut and i usually dress up in a soft-grunge style (i don't have a specific style in reality, too indecisive for that rip).
i have audhd, and find it hard to open up to people. when i have an interest, it's usually really intense! marine biology, certain video game franchises, tv shows, music, the arts—i'm super passionate about all of them and find myself infodumping if i dont catch myself. i keep to myself the majority of the time, but when i open up to people that i believe i can trust, i'm usually described as energetic and very active!
dancing, singing, playing music, and drawing are my main go-to hobbies. especially music—i know how to play the piano, violin, cello, bass, and guitar! the last two are self-taught, but i got a few years under my belt :D
i'm an esfp, and i love listening to people talk about their passions and their love for whatever it is. i'm dramatic and love doing things for shits and giggles (for the plot yk), but i'm bad at recognising and understanding other people's feelings at times. i'm horrendous at comforting others and i can not read between the lines for the life of me.
so sorry for typing so much!! i wanted to make sure u had good material to work with 🤲
i hope you have a wonderful day evening or night !!!
—🌷 anon <33
Hey Sandra! As you didn't state a preference for your partner, I'm going to assume that either any is fine!
Also genuine question, should I add my taglist on these?
Tumblr media
Don't ask how but I can see myself shipping you with April!
💚 - When it comes to dressing up, let's be honest, April could probably rock anything [much like I bet you do!]
💚 - So please for the love of god, let her borrow your clothes. She may not ask for it much, but if you're cool with it she is burrowing herself into your clothes-
💚 - Height-wise, I'd say 5'2" is pretty average, but compared to April, oh boy-
💚 - Her canonical height is 4'8", but let's give her a few inches out of pity, and make her around 5'0"...yeah no she's still short.
💚 - If it takes time for you to open up to people, don't worry! She'll be there, waiting and by your side the whole time.
💚 - As for special interests, if you happen to like a video game she has, she'll definitely let you borrow it. Hell, you guys can play together, maybe even infodump!
💚 - ^^ She'll probably sit there, head propped up in her hand, smiling at you softly.
💚 - Now, as for music, I'm sorry if this is just me projecting, but music players,,,
💚 - Would probably swoon if you ever wrote her a song, or even played for her.
💚 - Would probably ask you to teach her a few things, even if it's just the basics.
💚 - You're both extroverted so expect more outdoorsy dates! Amusement parks, bowling, arcades, whatever your heart desires, it shall get!
💚 - Now, as a fellow ✨THEATER KID✨ if you're demiromantic, aro-spec, or just more of a friends to lovers kinda person, depending on how long you've known each other, and if she can trust you to keep a secret, she might introduce you to Donnie, and maybe even the other turtles.
💚 - Pass the vibe check, please, because if her brothers friends don't like you, I'm sorry but you're gonna have to go-
💚 - Now, if you do vibe with them, especially Donnie, maybe, just maybe, you might get an invite to become an official member of the DPFL [Dorky Pals For Life] club.
💚 - Being unable to comfort April on a bad day might lead to an awkward gap between you two at times, but if you two can talk it out, you'll be just fine!
💚 - As for reading between the lines, if you're unable to read a room, or understand a joke, or just something someone said, she'd got you covered <3
I hope you liked it! <33

"I want you to be selfish in front of me."
This illustration I did last month sure is regaining some traction recently. It made me start thinking of how such a moment even happened and how it would go down
Be advised, this talk MAY get spicy but not much. So I'll put it under a cut.
Word of God states Nomoto is demisexual while Kasuga is demiromantic. They definitely have a strong bond formed, but how they react in intimate situations probably vary between the two!
I feel a kinship to Nomoto as a fellow demisexual (though I am also homoromantic. She's probably aro based on what we know of her but at that point I'm headcanoning lol). She bonded with Kasuga pretty quick. She had someone to share meals with! And then the thought of having a friend after not having any for so long...that felt wonderful, didn't it, Nomoto?
As she continued to hang out with Kasuga, she found her cuter...sweeter...beautiful. Like you can see this evolution happen as you read. And it evolves rather quickly! Sparkly Kasuga and even flowery Kasuga start taking over as her personal 1st person pov filter. Eventually, the idea of actual skinship gets to her. Hard. I've seen Ch 40 in raw format. Even just the idea of a hand hold and a hug really escalate things for her. This is hot for her! And I'm sure she wants to go further but only if Kasuga is okay with it.
And that brings us to Kasuga. It's definitely a lot more subtle with her. She isn't going to hold back from eating if Nomoto is inviting her. She is surprised by the thought that someone wants to hang out with her beyond their agreed, formal conditions. She starts opening up more and really viewing the world in a whole new light as she starts thinking about what Nomoto would think about X or if Nomoto would create something amazing out of Y...She cares for her and worries about her and she would want nothing more to just be by her side.
Kasuga does have a habit of keeping things to herself unless asked/poked about it. This is definitely a flaw, and one that the drama addressed in its unique episodes.
Kasuga cares more about the happiness for her loved one. She can manage and shift things if need be. This stems from her childhood. She had to be flexible because her needs were not as important.
So, I can definitely see Kasuga continuing to do whatever Nomoto feels like doing. And she would genuinely like it! A hug here? Sure! A kiss there? Of course! And yes. This would stretch into when they do get even more intimate. Kasuga, may be shy at first, but she would participate with her consent. Whatever Nomoto needs her to do, she'll do it. Undress her, undress herself, whisper sweet nothings into her ear...just say the word and she'll follow Nomoto's lead.
But there's definitely a lack of speaking up for her own wants and needs that Nomoto will pick up on. This is where the fanart comes in. Nomoto is probably feeling a little frisky and they start doing stuff their usual way, but Nomoto will just kinda...stop.
Kasuga is confused. Did she do something wrong? No, not really, but, while it's fun being able to go this far now, it's all just been focused on Nomoto's side.
What does Kasuga want to do? She does enjoy the hugs, right? Of course. The kisses? They definitely bring the butterflies fluttering for her, yes. And... anything else?
Nomot would remind her of that line she told her back after the vegetable picking date. "I want you to be selfish in front of me." Something about that new emphasis would make Kasuga stop and think. What does she want?
She wants Nomoto, of course. She wants to be with her, always by her side. If she could hold her forever, she would (but then she can't make meals oh no~). She now has gained the knowledge of what makes Nomoto react positively, so she'd lunge in and start doing those things. In the end, she still wants Nomoto to be happy, and she's going to give her that happiness herself this time, and this time she'll have some personal feedback that feels pretty warm and caring~
And Nomoto wouldn't have to really direct her or suggest much unless, well, she's "ready." Nomoto would be in for QUITE the ride~

You gotta tell me more about Whisper's problems. How bad could it *really* be for ne and Sol to be drinking buddies?
LOL well-
The biggest thing is, well, y'know. The kind of people who say "an army of child slaves sounds like the perfect way to solve problems" are probably the kind of people who dehumanise said army of child slaves. Jango straight up calls them livestock. Plus the whole barcode and CT numbers thing. Enough to give anyone issues when it's all they know! And that's not accounting for the extra trust issues coming from the fact that the Aces were betrayed by a clone from their own company.
Also I have a really incoherent set of thoughts about clones not having personal autonomy or the ability to say 'no', and the ways that can break them. And about how much worse that is for clones with touch aversion, like Whisper. And about how nonverbal episodes can make anything difficult, but are potentially lethal in a life-or-death situation. And how with emotions being all... fucky wucky, sometimes the only way to feel something is to get punched in the face. Kiss with a fist is better than none, etc etc.
(I also have a lot of thoughts about there being a different version of the clone chip that's installed with "live" programing, when sending a clone back to Kamino for reconditioning would take too much time. These chipped clones have to obey every order they're given, even if it would kill them to do so, and are forbidden from fighting back against anyone hurting them. I have even more thoughts about Whisper being threatened with a chip like that and being scared shitless because ne could never let the Aces endanger themselves to protect ner.)
This is entirely headcanon, but, Kaminoans are transphobic as hell when it comes to the clones. The army was made male on purpose and there's no reason for them to not stay that way. They hear about a clone changing up their gender and consider it a 'programming aberration', something tweaked in the DNA that makes the clone a little cuckoo for cocoa puffs in comparison to the 'real' soldiers. For one thing, Whisper is not fond of being called an aberration. And apart from the effect transphobia has on a kid, it's just stressful to wonder what's enough to get you taken from your family.
But that's not ner only aberration, as far as the Kaminoans are concerned! Or would be concerned, if they knew that Whisper was autistic. Which also brings a whole new set of Shit Whisper Doesn't Want To Deal With. I'm ready to kill someone with my bare hands like a gorilla after 15 minutes in a Wal-mart supercentre, and Whisper spent ner entire life in either a multi-million-people city or a war zone. Considering ne has no idea what a coping mechanism is (presumably some kind of machinery), is it really any surprise that ne has a load of emotional disregulation and anger issues?
The Aces did a lot to protect Ember and keep his deafness a secret. An unintentional side effect of that is that he sees his deafness as a Problem that would get them all killed if anyone figures it out. Did the Aces try to accommodate Whisper's own disability and accidentally teach ner the same thing? Does Whisper think there's something wrong in ner brain, and that ne needs to be fixed to be normal so ne's no longer a problem that ner family has to keep covered up? Yep. It sucks when your family teaches you shame, especially when they never meant to.
Also Whisper is asexual and demiromantic so like. That is also very alienating when you realise that you're not physically capable of feeling something that everyone else considers a defining trait of being human. Which also definitely ties back into the whole angle of Kaminoan dehumanisation, and the whole "ah fuck gotta fix the brain to be normal" thought pattern.
But the big thing is the child murder! In canon, one of the Cuy'val Dar had a fight ring, and multiple cadets died from their injuries. Whisper got kicked into the fight ring when ne was seven years old. Ner first time there, ne ended up killing ner opponent. And ne was efficient enough about it that Priest kept bringing ner back for more fights. Killing other cadets (some of them younger than ner) since childhood has, what's the phrase... deeply fucked ner up.
There's also the fact that ne internalises everything instead of relying on ner family for help or support. Everything is ner fault, therefore ne has to fix it all on ner own, too. It's like a damage multiplier against ner emotional state. The other Aces don't even know about the fight club thing, ne told them it was intensive training for consideration for an ARC program. That's gonna be a fustercluck.

(not aro culture! i would like to ask for advice, if that's possible. also so sorry if this is long!)
i was looking at some of the asks, and it had me thinking. the way i experience attraction is a little... uncommon? i haven't seen many people mention experiencing it, if any. i've been trying to figure out my romantic orientation, but it's been hard.
so i've been wanting to date people... but i don't know if this is my desire to be close to them and in a kindof relationship with them or not? it's been for some people in specific too, which makes me believe it isn't cupioromantic. whenever i hear about crushes, i hear it's thinking about them all day. i hear its feeling nervous or suddenly behaving differently than you would to others. that jazz. i have no idea if thats allo dumbassery (/lh) or not since i dont experience what i hear described. it seems romantic, but is it really when i dont experience what is described to be 'crushes'?
i dont experience what they describe a crush to be like... but i do experience feeling affectionate/attracted to them and wanting to date them. but then why doesnt it feel like crushes do?
im also not romance repulsed either... and fine with the idea of romance. but i wonder if i am a romance favorable aro with some other kind of attraction or not? it's difficult
if any of you are able to answer this then thank you! (i know theres probably a lot of asks so i will wait a while for it anyway)
(i am so sorry this has taken so long, the ask box just... spat this back out after presumably having eaten it when it was sent.... last year...)
honestly, i feel like you or anyone who feels like you have a lot of possible options for labels, and that's where i'm going to base this discussion since i think checking out the communities around those labels will provide better insight. that said, I also want to emphasize:
you have no obligation to solely relate to the aro or alloro communities.
first of all: our buddy, our pal, our good ol' "what the fuck is this anyways" companion, quoiromantic! the distinction between platonic and romantic isn't clear cut for everyone, and that's okay. this is an aro-spec identity.
secondly: have you heard of alterous attraction, or queerplatonic attraction? if not, looking into how people describe that, and considering if queerplatonic relationships sound more like what you're considering. these relationships can take many forms and are inherently defined by the people in the relationship rather than cultural/social norms that can influence romo relationships.
thirdly: grayromantic, aroflux, frayromantic, bellusromantic, cupioromantic, and lithromantic are all some other labels to look into.
Consider that for some grayro people, this identity can be a comfortable label for what feels like a watered-down romantic attraction. If you think it's possible you have some fluctuating levels of attraction, maybe aroflux or similar labels can provide a home for you!
i include frayro because while it's opposite term, demiromantic, is a more known identity, frayro isn't talked about a whole lot. if you think you find someone romantically attractive when you don't know them, but get to know them / think about getting to know them and lose that attraction, frayro may be something worth considering.
bellusromantic can help to explain the desire to do "romantic" things with others, while not necessarily experiencing romantic attraction to them. cupioromantic - not feeling romantic attraction but wanting a romantic relationship - could also be a possibility. lastly, lithromantic describes feeling romantic attraction but not wanting it reciprocated and/or losing attraction if it is reciprocated.
this is mostly a terminology dump, but i hope even if i'm far too late for the original asker, this can help others!

Characterisation
This is just a collection of notes regarding the way I play Beast and the few deviations from canon that I have. For the most part, probably 90-95% of what you see on panel that Hank has done, my Hank has also done, because I love the fact that this man has gone to the Dr. Seuss dimension and hung out with a Transformers character in canon, but there are one or two exceptions.
Feline Hank
Grant Morrison's New X-Men and the fake coming out. I write Hank as bisexual demiromantic, meaning he enjoys sex with more than one gender, and will engage in romantic relationships with anyone he has a strong emotional connection to. I personally read Hank as somewhat closeted during the early stages of his life, and Simon Williams, aka Wonder Man, was something of a wake-up call to the fact that he was not entirely straight.
As a result, if you bring this up with my Hank, he came out as gay around about seven years ago (current Hank is 37, for context), and clarified his bisexuality to the press not long after. I love Morrison's characterisation of Hank, but the fake coming out was just gross on many levels and I genuinely believe not only that it hurt Hank's character, but that it's a misread of his sexuality. If you want more on this, please check here.
Post-Intervention
This is a whole messed up ass situation because I'm one of the few people who genuinely thinks that Hank wouldn't have done the whole time travel thing to begin with (really just not his style), but there's some good conversations to be had about it, so you can assume that everything that happened on panel happened, just less - Bendis-y.
Also, this Hank knows magic because unlike every other damn X-writer, I actually remember that he's meant to remember everything baby human Hank did while he was in the present.
Avengers
He's my funny goodtime boy, no notes.
X-Force
This is the big one.
Ben Percy's version of Beast sucks balls and while I would have loved it if we could have avoided going full supervillain, we're here now, and while I don't like how it happened, Hank is not a saint and it's interesting to grapple with his psychology, so we're doing it but different.
This version of Beast is essentially undergoing a long, stable, controlled dissociative episode and is not what you would call sane. It's the only real way his characterisation makes sense.
In my headcanon, Abigail Brand, his longtime girlfriend, died and was resurrected while pregnant during the events of David Haller's X-Men Legacy, losing the child in the process, and finding out that his offspring had essentially been wiped from existence before he even knew about it has drained Hank of all his remaining warmth and optimism. He fundamentally does not believe that the world, or people, or life, is good anymore.
This is not an excuse.
I'm not here to give you some 2012 Loki apologism or say that he didn't do anything bad. He did. But going from where he was last in canon, in Rosenberg's Astonishing X-Men and Uncanny Avengers, to X-Force, it's the only justifiable reason he changed so much and so hard, and it's the only way the snap makes sense to me with existing canon information.
Your character does not know about this. If Hank has his way, your character will never know about this because it's not your damn business.
This version of Beast does not consider himself to be Hank McCoy anymore. He does not immediately answer to Hank, and he will never refer to himself as Hank in his internal narration. He has completely separated himself into Hank (dead) and Beast (alive - just about) because it simply hurts less and allows him to exert some degree of control over his life. He does not care what happens to him, his body, or his reputation anymore. There is only making sure that everyone else in his life is safe. Everything is expendable in pursuit of that goal.
The Irredeemable Beast
Naturally, this is going to lead to conflict.
It's also worth noting that while this version of Hank is on the plumper side, he is still physically able, agile, and a danger in a fight. I'm tired of Hank being written as useless in combat just because he's smart and smart people aren't good at fighting, which feels like it's been the case for a while now. He isn't a jobber for Kraven the Hunter.
My fic covering what this version of Hank is like, what he's doing, and what he's about.
In a nutshell, he was psychically reset back in Wolverine #35 by Jean Grey, and came back . . . mostly whole, just before the Hellfire Gala massacre. He knows he's beyond redemption, but he's going to try and do good anyway.
His mutation has changed once more, this time into a grey furred form with an accelerated, Wolverine-esque healing factor, and while he is stable, he still has underlying issues and psychological problems that will make him not the Hank you may know.
Dark Beast and Battle of the Atom
Pretty much exactly what you see on panel, though Dark Beast is obviously not a head in a jar on Sinister's desk when we interact because well yeah he wouldn't be.
No matter how sexually charged that is.
This is the basic gist of it! There are obviously a ton of other details and headcanons and such that I haven't mentioned because there's just so much, but these are the main canon divergences I can think of. If I think of anything else, they will be added to this post.

I'm just gonna rant a little bit if it's okay. I'm very frustrated with the lack of representation and therefore knowledge abt aromanticism. I know that it's also not easy to make something common knowledge if it's such a broad spectrum, but still. I can count the people who take my aromanticism seriously on one hand, even though I've explained it to probably around 15 people. Most people I explain it to, just dismiss it as soon as they know that I still want a relationship or that I had relationships in the past. Like why is it so difficult for people to not have everything black and white. Is it so difficult to understand that I just want a relationship that's not romantic? I'm so frustrated bcuz of this whole system. Bcuz of this shitty system, I was in a romantic relationship for almost a year, and no matter how much I enjoyed it and loved my partner, I always felt the need to "prove" my romantic love for her bcuz she was still stuck in this system of "romantic and platonic love are two completely different things and romantic love is so much stronger than platonic love". And so I was always scared to talk abt my aromanticism during our relationship, bcuz I knew that she would get insecure if I actually feel the same way she does. And I didn't want her to feel that way.
Or another annoying thing, people who just don't listen and put me and my feelings in a box. Like, I used to identify as demiromantic because I felt like that described me the best. And I told that to one of my friends, and he just immediately said "isn't that just normal?". Or when I explain to people what kind of relationship I want, and they just say "why don't you just have a normal romantic relationship then? It's much easier and not that different from what you want. And you and your partner can still decide everything yourself, no one forces you to do anything"
Everything is so confusing for me, because I think almost all of my feelings could still pass as romantic and stuff, but I really don't experience it the same way as allo people do, and I don't feel like the term romantic fits them. But allo people always just tell me that I'm being complicated and annoying, and that I should just accept the terms they made and live with it.
I hope this made some kind of sense, I'm tired and sleep deprived and English is not my first language, so I'm sorry if it's just a confusing mess.
I hope every aspec person has a wonderful day, you deserve it

Celestial Crossing (A MoonStone, SWKxChang'e, ship fic): Chapter 2- Would You Consider?
So… this is now a multichapter fic! There are just too many thoughts about these two and this au NOT to make it a long ongoing fic at this point. There will be some stuff posted out of order, as this will be much more chill than my Bunny Tang fic, but every chapter will be noted on where it takes place in the timeline in the start of a chapter (or in author notes). The fic's rating has also gone up on AO3 (G-T) because this story is touching upon a lot of heavier topics (this particular chapter has a soft warning in the tags here).
There is also a lot of nuance in their relationship I want to explore in future chapters, as I am intending to write SWK as demiromantic/demisexual in this particular au.
I hope you enjoy!
AO3 Link.
It’d been over a year.
Sun Wukong couldn’t believe that, but it was true. It had to be, the calendar and constellations he could see from the moon base window said so. And as much as he was the Great Sage, Equal to Heaven, who was he to question the stars themselves in regards to the passage of time?
Especially when they brought him to someone as wonderful as they had?
He couldn’t help but smile, thinking about how he took a chance on this. Took a chance on coming back up here, on seeing if she would talk to him, on seeing if she would give him a chance.
He knew it was a long shot, given her past. He would have been completely accepting if she had told him no, that they should remain friends, because he was always in want of new friends now that he was back to leaving the mountain again. He couldn’t bug MK and his friend group solely forever after all.
But she took a chance on saying yes as well. And now, here they are, two people who were tied to their past for so long taking a chance on each other.
And well. It had been a year.
They must have been doing something right.
He never thought he would ever get close enough to someone to feel this connected to him after his years of isolation, but somehow he did. Somehow she accepted him for all his weird little quirks, like how half of everything he ate needed to have peaches incorporated somehow, and respected all of his boundaries and needs.
Things were… well, he hesitated to say perfect.
But it was close.
“How do you feel about kids?”
Sun Wukong didn’t realize it was possible for him to choke on air the way he did, but he was glad it at least wasn’t the bite of mooncake that he had swallowed just a few seconds earlier.
“What… do you mean? Exactly?” He chanced slowly.
“Have you ever considered having any before?” Chang’e asked, elbows deep into some of the machinery within her factory (a normal sight given everything regularly needed maintenance from time to time).
Sun Wukong didn't know he could make the sound he did, in place of an actual answer.
Apparently Chang'e and all of her bunny-bots didn't know either, given the concerned looks they all shot him.
"I mean…" Sun Wukong said as he tugged at his shirt. "I… I can't say I've never thought of… kids… I just… I can't really… have any? Maybe. Maybe?"
"... you can't have kids?"
"I'm a rock,” Sun Wukong said quickly. “I… haven’t, you know, tried. But everyone I asked told me I probably couldn’t. I-”
“I’m sorry,” Chang’e said quickly, pulling her arms out of the machine and closing it back up before turning to him fully. “I shouldn’t have sprung the question on you so suddenly, I didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable.”
“It’s ok,” Sun Wukong assured quickly, rushing over to hand her a cloth to wipe her hands on. “You didn’t know this was something I was… uh…”
“Sensitive about?” She offered.
“Not really that,” he said with a shrug. “I just… I love kids, actually! And if anyone asked I would probably just have said that. The whole time we were on the journey I would play with any kids we came across, make sure they were taken care of, that kind of stuff. But I’ve also never actually dated anyone before, let alone thought of having kids with them. So…”
“You were caught off guard?” Chang’e guessed, handing the dirty cloth to a bunny bot once her hands were clean.
“Yeah,” he admitted with a laugh. “I’ve asked a couple of the other Gods if they thought I could before, like some of the fertility ones, out of curiosity. But they didn’t think it was possible. And I kinda resigned myself to that when I thought I would never be lucky enough to find someone to be with, either.”
“Well, both of us were wrong on the second front,” Chang’e said with a wistful laugh. “Not every immortal is lucky enough to have a second chance after pining over their lost first love like I am.”
Sun Wukong couldn’t help but watch as her face fell into something… not quite sad, but almost nostalgic. No doubt remembering her first love. She’d told him a lot about Houyi, not in a comparing sort of way but just to tell him. And he listened to every second, wanting to honor the memory of him with her. He had seemed like quite the man.
How Chang’e had fallen for him, someone so different from her first love, Sun Wukong still had not been able to hazard a guess.
“I think I’m the lucky one here,” he said with a smirk. “Not everyone gets to earn the love of THE greatest pastry chef outside of this world, after all.”
“Oh you stop that!” Chang’e said with a chuckle as they made their way out of the factory. “I’m the ONLY pastry chef ‘outside of this world’, Monkey Man.”
“See, greatest!”
The two of them laughed as they walked through her garden, watching the bunny robots go about their patrols to make sure the vegetation was growing healthily. Until…
“Can I ask you something else about kids?” Chang’e asked slowly.
“Sure.”
“Have you ever thought about what you would want out of them?” She asked. “Like… what kind of people you would want them to be.”
“I’d want them to be… happy,” Sun Wukong eventually answered. “However they would turn out, whatever they end up being… I’d want them to be happy.”
“That’s a pretty good answer,” Chang’e said wistfully. “You ever think about adopting?”
“Does MK count?”
The laughter that Chang’e let out was like bells.
“Sure, he counts,” she said with a smile. “He’s a pretty great kid, hero status bias aside.”
“22 years and still a baby to us,” Sun Wukong said with a chuckle. “Though, don’t let him know I said that. He’s developed a good left hook.”
The unspoken questions that his Not Quite Wife asked lingered between them, the Great Sage more than capable of picking up on context clues.
‘Would you have kids with me?’
Would you.
~
Sun Wukong was heading to Pigsy’s Noodles.
He needed to get his mind off of this. It was… it was a lot.
He didn’t know how to process it.
He just needed a bowl of noodles and maybe a quick sparring session with  everyone’s favorite local hero/delivery boy/sucessor.
At least, that’s what he thought he would be doing.
Until we walked in to see MK tossing a small child up in the air, the rest of the shop empty save for the namesake chef in the kitchen (not even a Tang in sight, strange).
“... what… did I miss?” Sun Wukong asked as an announcement, freezing when the kid pointed at him midair.
“MONKEY KING!” The kid yelled at the top of his lungs, letting out an oomph when MK caught him on the fall back down. “It’s Monkey King, MK, it’s him!”
“Yeah it is, Fenhua,” MK said with a laugh as he held him. “That’s my mentor. Monkey King, this is Fenhua. His mom’s a regular here and needed someone to look after him while she went to a doctor’s appointment.”
“You offer free babysitting to your regulars?” Sun Wukong asked in confusion as the kid squirmed in MK’s hold. He looked to be barely 4 years old, maybe even barely 3 and a half. He wasn’t great with kid ages.
He sat down at the bar, chuckling at the sigh and shake of the head he got from Pigsy.
“No, Wukong, we don’t,” Pigsy said with joking annoyance. “We do favors for people who need it and who have been coming here since the kid was born, though, because they’re friends at this point. Usual?”
“Actually, could I have some of your signature noodles? Vegan?” Sun Wukong asked apologetically. “I wanna be here for a while.”
Pigsy shot him a look before shrugging. “Not a problem, give me the extra time.”
“I’ve got plenty todAY!” Sun Wukong jumped, looking back at the lump that had launched himself at the monkey’s back. “Hi?”
“MK said you can eat metal!” Fenhua asked excitedly. “Do you!?”
“I said he could, not that he liked to!” MK said as he rushed over to gently pull the kid off his mentor. "Sorry, he… really likes hearing about you, since he knows I'm your student."
"And did you say mostly good things about me?" He asked with a smirk. "You didn't tell him I ATE KIDS did you!?"
As he said this he swooped down, grabbing Fenhua and pretending to eat his arm as he sat him on his knee.
The kid screamed loudly, offset by his just as loud laughter.
"He said you're the STRONGEST ever!" Fenhua explained as he bounced on the sage's leg excitedly. "He-he said you beat up a WHOLE world!"
"Not the whoooole world," MK explained with a laugh. He moved to a table, grabbing some papers and bringing them over. "The celestial realm."
"See… cerl… seelastial realm!"
"Pretty close, kid, not bad!" Sun Wukong said with a chuckle. "That's a hard word for… hmm… how old are you?"
"4 and 20 days!" Fenhua said confidently.
"Such a big boy!" Sun Wukong said in exaggerated amazement. "You're almost the age I was when I first went to school."
"I start in a few months," the child said as he went off on a tangent about how he would be getting ready for it.
Sun Wukong listened to every word, making sure to show interest when appropriate to keep the kid talking excitedly.
He and MK showed him the papers, art they had been working on before Fenhua had asked MK for "air bounces" as they apparently called them.
All the while this was backed by the sound of Pigsy cooking up his signature noodles. Sun Wukong could have sworn he heard some snorts and chuckles from the chef, particularly when the Sage made some particularly stupid jokes.
It didn't take long for the kid to wind down, slowly yawning and rubbing his eyes. MK explained that he had already eaten and, well, it was past nap time for him actually.
And before he could move him, Fenhua just.
Fell asleep.
On his lap.
While Sun Wukong was holding him.
"You look practically parental," Pigsy said as he laid out the immortal’s order and handed another to MK. "Take this a few streets over to the art store for me, will ya? I have a feeling Fenhua isn’t going anywhere and it’s the only order we’ve had in the last half hour.”
“Sure thing! See you in a sec, Monkey King!”
Before he could voice his protest, MK rushed off to do his delivery job, leaving the immortal with a sleeping child and a smirking chef.
“You sent him out on purpose.”
“I wanted to talk to ya alone,” Pigsy said with a shrug. “And you need to give these noodles a couple minutes to cool off anyway.”
“Uh, what about?” Sun wukong chanced with a chuckle. “What, am I training MK on the days you need him again? We can reschedule, no problem.”
“This ain’t about MK,” Pigsy said with a shake of his head. “It’s about how you looked when you got here.”
Oh.
“How I… looked?”
“You looked like your entire world was pulled out from under ya, Wukong,” Pigsy said softly. “It wasn’t until you started interacting with the kid that you perked up. What happened?”
He debated lying. Or side stepping. Telling Pigsy it was nothing or that he had just broken another artifact and didn’t know how to tell the celestial it belonged to what happened. But he knew Pigsy wasn’t stupid. He knew he would ask questions.
And… he did promise to be more honest… and out of everyone, except perhaps Sandy, Pigsy was the one person he felt he might be able to talk to about this.
“I… Chang’e asked me about… having kids the other day,” he admitted, noting the shocked look on the other’s face that popped up instantly. “And I had to tell her that I didn’t think I could have kids. But I wasn’t sure so I. I went to a fertility clinic to get checked… And uh…”
“Bad news?”
Sun Wukong nodded, taking a deep breath to steady himself.
“Very bad,” he explained. And then he continued.
As it would turn out, the answer to whether or not he and Chang’e would have children was no.
But not willingly.
He would never be able to face Chang’e directly when he would have to admit he went to be checked out at a fertility clinic, just to be sure. Her questions made him second guess all the celestials who had told him he would likely never be able to have kids of his own.
They were right.
Sun Wukong didn’t realize how much hearing that would male his stomach sink.
Sure, he THOUGHT he would never have kids of his own. But he held out hope that, maybe, with some magic involved something might happen. Not to find out he would never be able to father one at all no matter what.
“They said I’m completely infertile,” he said with a humorless chuckle. “Just. Nothing there. No possibility of. Anything. No accidents, nothing on purpose. Nothing they can do to make it possible for me. Turns out being born from a rock makes you just. Not able to have kids like that. The fertility gods told me I couldn’t centuries ago, but I thought ‘hey, I defied them before so maybe they’re wrong!’ … but they were right.”
“...I’m sorry,” Pigsy said softly. Honestly. He reached out, resting a hand on the Monkey King’s shoulder. “You… sound like you wanted to try.”
“I did,” Sun Wukong admitted. “I didn’t realize I would want to with her until she asked, but I did.”
“Are you going to look into other options?” Pigsy asked before cringing. “Sorry, that. That’s probably too soon to ask.”
“It’s ok,” Sun Wukong said. “I mean. We could do… other stuff? Like the river water. Chang’e would have to be ready for that and I don’t know if she is. I know we could adopt, but…”
He trailed off, shaking his head.
“But what?”
“What… what if I mess up again?” Sun Wukong asked as he looked at the child in his arms. “I… I’ve messed up so much as a mentor. What if this is a sign telling me I don’t deserve to be a dad after all. What if I mess up as a dad too? ”
“You’re gonna mess up,” Pigsy said without missing a beat. “A lot. You’re never going to stop messing up.”
As much as he tried not to admit it, Sun Wukong could feel his stomach growing cold and his face falling as he listened to Pigsy say this. He was right. He had always messed up and would always mess up, wouldn’t he? He-
“And that’s ok.”
“... huh?”
Sun Wukong looked at the other in confusion.
“Messing up is part of being a parent,” Pigsy continued with a soft smile. “I should know. I’ve messed up so many times with MK.”
“But… he’s fine!” Sun Wukong said with genuine shock. “You mean… messing up won’t…”
“Break the kid?” Pigsy finished, waiting for Sun Wukong to nod. “If messing up ruined your kids, no one would be a put together adult. I fed MK things that made him sick, left him alone with art supplies, lost my temper and had to apologize. I ain’t proud of any of that. But I didn’t break him, and I learned from all of my mistakes. And I think MK turned out pretty great, didn’t he?”
“Yeah, he did,” Sun Wukong couldn’t help but agree.
“If you treat kids the way you’ve been treating MK after Lady Bone Demon? Or Fenhua today? You don’t have anything to worry about. Now go on, eat up, your noodles should be fine by now.”
And with that, Pigsy turned around without another word.
It wasn’t easy to get a good spoonful of broth or a bite of noodles with the kid in his lap.
But he managed.
And Pigsy was right, they were the perfect temperature.
Maybe…
He was right about how he would be with a kid too…
~
“Oh! It really is S-Sun Wukong!”
“I told you he was in good hands.”
The mentioned Sage turned at the unfamiliar voice, seeing MK arrive back with a woman.
It didn’t take many context clues for him to guess this was Fenhua’s mother.
“Well, what better hands for someone to be in than mine?” He said jokingly, standing up and holding the young child as carefully as possible. “He’s been asleep for a while.”
“He doesn’t fall asleep for anyone else except MK and my husband,” his mother said with amazement. “Thank you so much. I hope he wasn’t too much trouble.”
“None at all,” Sun Wukong said with a wide smile. “It’s been a while since I’ve gotten to answer such an excited fan one on one.”
“He was absolutely enthralled with the monkey,” Pigsy yelled from the kitchen. “You would have mistaken him for family if you didn’t know any better.”
“You’d be a great dad, a bet,” Pigsy’s regular said with a chuckle. “... I’m sorry, that was weird! I hope that wasn’t rude! It’s just… if THE Sun Wukong had a kid, I think we’d all… I’m embarrassing myself, aren’t I?”
Sun Wukong looked down at the kid in his arms, sleeping soundly with an iron grip on his sleeve. And all he could think of was ‘damn…I really do want to be a dad…’
“Not at all. Maybe I should offer some babysitting services,” he said jokingly.
“Not in my shop you ain’t!” Pigsy softly yelled from the kitchen. “This was a one time favor!”
Everyone couldn’t help but chuckle as the regular took her son from the sage’s arms, Fenhua barely rousing at the jostle.
“Mama?” He said softly as she leaned him against her shoulder.
“Yes, honey, it’s time to go home.”
“Ok… bye Mr. Sage, bye Gege...”
“AH,” MK’s mouth dropped open as the young child’s mother chuckled, the little guy already dozing back off in her arms again.
It took a whole minute after they left for him to turn to Sun Wukong and Pigsy with a wide smile.
“He called me Gege!” MK said giddily, flapping his hands up and down.
MK was so… clearly excited by this.
Sun Wukong smiled softly, almost missing the knowing look Pigsy shot him.
Co-parents to the same overpowered Monkie Kid didn’t need to say anything to know MK would be a fantastic big brother.
~
“I’m sorry, Peach Pie,” Chang’e said when Sun Wukong told her. “Maybe… they’re wrong? We could try anyway! I’d try as long as we need to!”
“I don’t think that we can ‘try’ a child into existence with what they told me,” Sun Wukong said with a soft shake of his head. “I just… can’t have any kids with you. I… I understand if that’s too much, you’re the one who brought them up and-”
“What? No!” Chang’e said instantly, grabbing his face to make him look at her. “Wukong, I’m not going to leave you because we can’t have a kid together. Never. I’m sorry if I made you think I would ever consider that… I just…” She sighed, looking out at the garden on the other side of the Flower Fruit Mountain portal the Sage had set up. “I love you. Even if we can never have a child, that’s not going to change. I’ve been here alone for centuries, just having you for company with everyone you bring to me? Is plenty. It was just on my mind for so long I wanted to be... honest with you."
“I’m glad you were,” he said, unsure of how else to respond. Because he was. “But it gets lonely when we’re not here, right?”
“Yeah…” Chang’e admitted. “And I never got to have kids before coming here. I guess I also… wanted to pass on everything I know to someone, give them a good life up here. Maybe that's silly.”
“Not at all. It’s nice. It’s a good want to have, Mooncake.”
There was a silence between them, understanding and not as awkward as Sun Wukong expected.
"We could adopt," Chang'e said as they watched the little monkeys being handed between the elders. "Lots of kids would love being taken to the moon."
"I don't think adoption agencies would amicable toward 'monkey dad flies/passed small baby through portal to moon to visit mom daily'," Sun Wukong said with a laugh. “But… I was going to suggest the same thing. I think I'd be the most comfortable with that."
"They don't have to be a baby!" Chang'e countered with a pout. "They just have to love mooncakes. But…” She smiled, grabbing her partner’s hand. “I’m glad you already gave that some thought."
"I am too,” Sun Wukong said. “And? That criteria sounds easy enough to fit."
The two reached through the portal, hands intertwined as they kissed. Earth and space meeting and melding together for a few seconds.
“Come on up,” Chang’e said once they broke apart. “One of my bunny bots broke earlier today and I can use some help getting them back up and running.”
“Let’s get the little buddy back into shape, then!”
… they could not have guessed what would happen next.

Hi! I'm already in love with this story! 🥺🥺 Can't wait to read more!
Can I ask 💖 for ROs? Thank you!
Hi, anon! I hope this hasn't been sitting in my ask box too long as it's been a few days since I checked!
I'm so glad you are enjoying the story. 🧡 I can't wait to share more of it.
💖 - Has your OC ever been in love, be it romantic or platonic or otherwise? Who with and did they ever express their feelings or keep it private? How long did these feelings persist / do they still feel this way?
Anton - Anton can sometimes love pretty easily and deeply, so he's been in a few relationships in the past, mostly with people he grew up around or worked closely with. None of them ever really panned out for one reason or another, and those feelings have long since faded. I would also argue that Anton and Switch share a kind of platonic love, unspoken but there. In the (potential) poly route with Anton and Switch, that love can turn into a romantic one, but there's definitely a platonic love between them regardless. When it comes to romantic love, Anton isn't really the type to intentionally keep his feelings private. If the circumstances are appropriate, he's comfortable expressing his feelings. With platonic love, he doesn't necessarily feel like anything needs to be said.
Switch - As above, platonic love shared between her and Anton, unspoken and, in her case, probably unaware. Besides that, Switch has never been in love. She has a military background that made it difficult for her to get close to people in any meaningful ways. Aside from that, though, she's a very private person and not very good at expressing emotions that she thinks will make her seem "weak" in the eyes of others. Any kind of hypothetical confession from her would not come easily.
Zero - She has had some instances of unrequited love, one of which was a childhood friend that she confessed her feelings to and got turned down, and the other of which was a colleague that she never expressed her feelings to because of her familial ties. In general, Zero is very free with her emotions and expressions of love, but she has grown a little reserved when it comes to confessions of love, specifically in a romantic sense. Some of that has to do with lingering gender dysphoria and some of it to do with her family ties complicating matters. Her feelings of love for those people don't still persist, but she does often wonder what could have been if things had been different.
Path - Although it's easier for me to answer "no" to this question for Path, the more accurate answer would be that he has actively pushed away any feelings of romantic love any time he started to feel them. Path is demiromantic, so it takes time for him to develop feelings anyway, but the pushing away of those feelings is a trauma response that he is more than aware of and still not sure how to get over (if he even wants to). In that respect, he doesn't express his feelings and doesn't feel them long because he actively suppresses them.
Kiran - If there's anyone who fits the oblivious trope among the cast, it's Kiran. They've never been in love and would have trouble recognizing love if it hit them in the face like a sack of bricks. Love is something that has very much eluded Kiran his whole life. Emotional detachment is probably the biggest reason for that. Really, emotional detachment is the biggest conflict of their personal arc and an even bigger one if any romance plot is pursued with her.
Yulia - As the oldest in the cast, you might think Yulia has the most experience with love, but she doesn't. Oh, she's been in many relationships before, but none where she was ever deeply in love with her partners. In all cases, her partner wanted more from the relationship than Yulia was willing to give. She's a bit of a workaholic and hard to get close to, but she could easily fall in love with someone who respects her boundaries and investment into her work.
Hex - Hex probably has the most experience with love out of anyone in the cast. He's very comfortable with who he is and what he likes, which translates into confidence that makes it easy for him to get close to people. He also has a pretty easygoing attitude about people and their differences, which translates into him being open-minded and even celebrating differences and similarities alike. I wouldn't necessarily say he falls in love easily, but he certainly doesn't let anything get in the way of him catching feelings for someone, so he's been in love quite a few times. He's also very comfortable with expressing that love and sees no need to hide it. Most notably, he was in love with a man that he worked with very early on in his career, but they decided to part ways due to difficulties created by their constant travel (which is pretty much how most of Hex's relationships end, serious or not). He still holds love for that person, but he feels that temporary loves and relationships have their place in a person's life, so he doesn't harbor any bitterness or regret about the relationship having ended.
A2 - When A2 falls in love, she does so deeply and fully. That being said, she has a hard time getting close to people because of her personality and has only been in love once before. The relationship ended on a bad note, which pretty much erased any lingering feelings of love she otherwise might have had. As an added side effect, she hasn't exactly been open to finding another relationship any time soon. A2 isn't the type to confess feelings of love unless she's absolutely fucking sure about it, so she's likely to keep feelings of love private for a long time before they are out in the open.
Thanks for the ask, anon!

over the past few months I’ve been slowly coming to the realization that I like women and can I just say how comforting and freeing it is to be able to think “oh gosh, that girl I just passed on campus is SO pretty” and be completely okay with the fact that I think so because 1) she is and 2) I am in fact aesthetically attracted to her
like I’ve been working for years against internalized stigmas and misogyny to get past judging other women and to a point where I can pleasantly enjoy the aesthetic beauty of women in a casual and conflict free way. Realizing and gently accepting that it goes further than that has been a very nice, exceptionally (and I’ve already said this but) gentle thing for me. It’s like a little nugget of happiness I get to enjoy now, without feeling immensely guilty and spiraling into religious conflict.
Of course I still dread my mom finding out. Hell, I’m terrified my best friend will find out and thing I’ve wanted to date her this whole time or something (which like, I WOULD, I love her she’s amazing and I’m demiromantic where my preference requires emotional connection and trust, which I have for her, but do I WANT to date her? No, she’s my best friend. I just think she’s cool).
But it’s still nice. And compared to the place I was in this time last year, it is so, so wonderful to not hate myself for being attracted to women.

A Dempsey & Sexuality
I mentioned in an ask earlier that none of the characters in Golden are the finished article, there are so many things that I come up whilst I write, some ideas that come to me whilst I'm jotting down notes - a thought like A being demisexual and demiromantic.
Thoughts and Ideas
It was a week or so ago that I released the romance guide to the game, showing that all aspects of the characters are continuing to be developed and the thought and idea of A being demisexual is one that I've been thinking of for a while.
I didn't want to announce this without doing my own research, without knowing specifically where A fits on this spectrum and how it will impact Golden - especially as I'm not demisexual myself. The last thing I'd want to do is offend or hurt anyone so this became one of the most important things for me.
A as a character
In terms of what inspired this, I'd say that I was looking at B, K and P and wondering how they compare to each other in terms of sex and romance, who's had more experience than who, emotions that can develop from that etc. and I realised that these topics for A are very different from that of their friends.
A is definitely the least emotional of the four, that's been obvious from the beginning (I'm not at all saying that demisexuality is a personality trait, just mentioning what A is like as a character!!), and I realised that them falling for the MC will be a huge experience for them both romantically and sexually.
A on their sexual identity
The broad definition of demisexuality is someone who experiences sexual attraction only when they have an emotional bond with someone.
For A, an emotional bond and having trust in a person is essential for them to have a sexual attraction towards someone - meaning one-night stands for A is a complete no. A friends-with-benefits relationship with A is something they wouldn't do either.
How this will be explored in game, alongside their romance as a whole
I wanted to have a brief idea of this before I made the announcement too. I already knew that beginning an official relationship with A would require some trust and emotional bond, the same will be if a sexual relationship is going to occur.
In terms of how this will be shown in game:
I'm thinking of creating an extra stat for A where you collect an amount of points an 'emotional bond & trust' stat, thus depending on the amount of points you have for this stat, dialogue/text will be different, A's actions may be a little different, there may be an extra set of choices - and then the points will unlock the nsfw scene if that's something you choose.
The points will also reveal more emotional scenes with A, they'll be more open to the MC about themselves and other things (if you don't have enough points for this, you will still get A opening up to your MC, but with these points, it will happen earlier in game).
A POV scenes, their thoughts, conversations with the others etc. will discuss A's demisexuality - for example, a conversation about their previous relationships, mentioning what happened in past relationships with those people, that one person, in particular, wanted to just have sex than create any emotional bond causing A to not continue with that - I want the realism factor to be in this game and things like this do occur in real life.
A and the MC actually having a conversation about their demisexuality.
The others may discuss A's emotions with the MC too, e.g., B has a conversation with the MC and mentions that they've sensed a difference in A's emotions recently - indicating that could be/is the MC's doing - as you're romancing A, this will just be in a general sense and won't be affected by the stat mentioned in the first bullet point.
I'm not completely sure on the nsfw scenes at the moment, but A's will happen last out of the other three.
Developing a relationship with A will most likely take the longest too.
Feel free to send any questions you have on A and their demisexuality, and if you have any suggestions on how this could be discussed further in game, please let me know <3

Valentine's Day event day 1: Blind date
Tumblr media
Day 1 of Kaze's Valentine's day challenge Pairing: Ben Copper x Quinn Campbell | Male MC Implied Demiromantic Ben
Quinn tilted his head as he looked over the colourful parchment that had been pushed into his hands. ‘Valentine’s Date Blind Dating’ the flyer has written out in red glittery calligraphy, the parchment itself was tinted a pale pink.
“You got one too?” Rowan’s voice sounded next to him as they leaned up to look over Quinn’s shoulder.
“Yeah.” Quinn sighed, as he folded and tucked the parchment away in his robe. “I don’t remember this from previous years.”
“It’s new. From what I’ve heard, third years are putting it together.” Rowan answered. “Apparently ‘blind dating’ is something’s muggles do.”
The two fell into step together as they walked through the halls to the quidditch field. While Rowan didn’t play, they always came to watch Quinn’s practices. Moral support as they put it, though he always caught them with their nose in a book for most of their time there.
“I wonder if Ben knows about it.” Quinn thought out loud. “He lives in the muggle world and takes muggle studies.”
“Maybe?” Rowan scratched their chin. “Though he doesn’t seem too interested in dating.”
“Doesn’t mean he doesn’t know about it.” Quinn counted and Rowan shrugged.
Quinn stepped away to change into his quidditch uniform and grab his broom. Rowan was already on the bleachers by the time he left the changing room, Nose unsurprisingly reading a thick book. He affectionately rolled his eyes before turning away to join his team for practice.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
It wasn’t until dinner that Quinn thought about the flyer again. He lazily read over the words as he slowly ate his food. The gist that he got was the event as like playing matchmaker, he’d sign up with one of the students running (whose names were written at the bottom) with some information about himself and then he’d be paired with someone for a date.
‘Is this really something people do?’ Quinn thought. ‘Eh, it might be fun to at least give it a try. At the very least it will be interesting.’
He was, literally, jostled out of his thoughts by someone bumping his shoulder as they plopped down next to him. Quinn turned his head to see Ben sitting next to him, back again the table and legs stretched out on the aisle and crossed at the ankle.
What’cha got there?” Ben snatched the flyer before the other could respond. “Oh this lame thing? Are you actually thinking about doing it?”
“Hey, don’t be mean.” Quinn lightly smacked his shoulder. “And yeah, sounds like it'll be interesting and I don’t have anything else to do.”
“It’s so weird though.” Ben spun around to sit properly at the table and rest on his elbows. He grabbed a sandwich piece from the platter and took a bite. “You have no idea who you're getting set up with and they could be a total weirdo.”
“Some say I'm a total weirdo.” Quinn raised a brow as he watched the other.
The blond smirked at him; “You are. But in a way that’s charming and fun. Y’know- when you’re not dragging me to life threatening situations.”
“You love it.” Quinn smirked back.
Ben studied him for a moment, his expression unreadable. Though it was clear he was thinking about something. His fingers absentmindedly played with a red plaster on his finger. Quinn had given it to him earlier after he had fallen in a thorn bush during flying lessons.
Maybe. I mean someone has to help Rowan keep you out of trouble.” Ben finally answered. He took another large bite of his sandwich. “Anyways- the whole dating event sounds like it’s gonna be a disaster. And that’s if the professors don’t shut it down first.”
Quinn rolled his eyes. “Just because you’re not interested in romance doesn’t mean others aren’t.”
“And you are?” The Gryffindor had a mischievous glint in his eyes. He swung his arm around the Hufflepuff’s shoulders and leaned into him. “Gonna go in and meet the love of your life? Gonna meet prince- or princess- charming and live happily ever after?”
“Oh bugger off, Copper.” Quinn shoved the other as he turned bright red.
“Mr. Campbell, Mr. Copper there will be no rough housing in The Great Hall.” Snape’s scathing voice came from behind, making the boys jump. “Twenty points from Hufflepuff and Gryffendor. And Mr. Copper return to your house’s table.”
“Sorry, Professor.” Ben stammered and jumped up, scurrying off to his own table. Despite how confident and down right reckless he had become, it was impossible to not fear Professor Snape.
Quinn sighed as he turned away to quietly eat his dinner.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
To say Quinn was surprised to see Penny at the event sign up table was an understatement. She smiled at her fellow Hufflepuff as she spotted him stepping up.
“Quinn! You’re interested in the Valentine’s day event?” She asked excitedly.
“Yeah, I thought it’d be fun.” Quinn smiled as he leaned against the table. “I didn’t know you were running it.”
“I’m just helping out with organizing.” She said, a faint blush rising on her cheeks. “Here let me show you how to sign up.”
Penny grabbed a parchment card for Quinn to write his name on. The reason being so he couldn’t see the other students and it would be kept a surprise who his date would be. He then put his card into a chalice positioned on the table. It had a faint pinky colour mist flowing from it, obscuring the inside.
“Hopefully no one gets too bummed getting the cursed kid as their date.” He joked, hiding his true worry of that happening. He knew a lot of people at Hogwarts didn’t like him, he even had a class partner asked to be resigned so as to not work with him and ‘cursed their project’.
“Anyone would be lucky to have you!” Penny boldly reassured him. “Besides, I already have someone in mind who I think would be perfect.”
“Oh yeah?” Quinn raised a brow.
“You’ll find out on your date.” She giggled, grinning secretly. “I’ll send an owl when everything’s ready.”
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
The owl arrived a half hour before dinner, telling him to come to the clocktower courtyard. While he had plenty of time to get ready, Quinn still couldn’t help but fuss. First, about his outfit and then about his hair. It felt like his hair always had a mind of his own, especially since he started growing it, and usually he didn’t care but now he had to look good for his date.
“What’s, uh, what’s going on in here?” Rowan poked their head into the dorm. They looked around at the mess as they entered the room. “Did you cast Ventus here?”
“No,” Quinn crossed his arms indignantly. “I’m trying to get ready for my date. Only issue is I have nothing to wear!”
“You literally have a mountain of clothes on your bed.” Rowan scooted the pile over to sit down on the bed.
“Yes but nothing works!” The other groaned loudly in frustration.
Rowan hummed and stood, turning to look over the pile. They picked up a couple pieces. They laid out a mustard yellow sweater, a white button up to go underneath and dark jeans.
“Here, try this.” Rowan pushed the outfit into Quinn’s hands.
Quinn tried to argue but was quickly shushed, so he sighed and took the clothes offered to him. Having roommates made it pretty normal changing in front of others, so Quinn had no problem turning and changing his clothes with Rowan still in the room. When he turned back around, Rowan came forward to fix the other’s lopsided button up collar.
“You look great!” Rowan grinned proudly. “Which is good because you need to get going.”
Quinn checked his watch; “Oh no, I’m going to be late!”
In a flash, Quinn transformed into a brown dog and scurried out of the room. A pro of being an animagus was he was much quicker in his animal form and he was soon skidding into the courtyard.
He changed back into his human form and fixed his hair as he looked around the area. The fountain was lined with candles and vines of flowers, along with some petals scattered across the ground. A picnic was spread out next to the fountain with a few sandwiches and tea.
He wasn’t focused much on the picnic as he was on the person sitting nervously on the fountain ledge. It was Ben, dressed in a maroon turtleneck and dark jeans.
“Uh, hey.” Ben leaned back as he poorly tried to act relaxed.
“Ben? What are you doing here?” Quinn stepped forward to stand in front of the other.
“Pretty sure I’m here for a date.” He snarked. He coughed awkward into his fist. “I mean- I signed up for the date event…”
“I thought you weren’t interested in dating.” Quinn raised a brow. “You already had too much to worry about.”
“Yes, well-” Ben combed his fingers through hair and averted his gaze; “This was a mistake.”
He quickly stood to leave but Quinn grabbed his wrist before he could. Ben stiffened but didn’t pull away. He slowly turned back around to face the other, his expression tense.
“Wait, I’m sorry. Please stay.” Quinn pleaded.
Ben watched Quinn for a long moment before sighing. The two sat down on the picnic blanket while actively avoiding eye contact with each other. To say it was painfully awkward between them would be an understatement.
Quinn’s heart was practically pounding out of his rib cage. Glancing up, Ben seemed just as anxious as he kept glancing over. The two made eye contact and quickly looked away, Quinn shoving a piece of sandwich in his mouth to distract himself.
He bided his time to think by taking a long moment to chew and swallow; “So…What changed your mind about this? I thought blind dating was ‘lame’.”
“It is.” Ben poured himself some tea. “But… when you said you were doing it. I thought maybe there was a chance of getting set up together…”
“Hold on, you did this…because of me?” Quinn’s face grew warm as he tried to wrap his head around the information given to him.
“I wasn’t lying when I said I wasn’t interested in dating and calling it a bother, but I- You’re the only person I’d be willing to give it a try with.” Ben drained his cup to give himself a moment’s pause. Quinn opened his mouth but Ben raised his hand to stop him. “Let me just get this out. I never thought about romance before, never really saw the appeal. But you’ve always made me feel comfortable and safe and just- I think I understand what others mean when they talk about love.”
Quinn blinked once, twice, and then again in shock. Ben refused to look at him, making his expression unreadable.
“You…you like me?” Quinn asked when he found his voice.
“Merlin’s beard.” Ben flopped back on the stone ground with a huff. “You’re lucky you're cute because blimey you’re daft. Yes I like you. A lot.”
“No need to insult me.” Quinn pouted.
“There you go again.” Ben laughed for the first time that evening; “I mean daft in the most loveable, charming way.”
Ben sat up and crawled over to the other. He slung his arm around his shoulders and pulled him close. Quinn pouted harder, crossing his arms with a huff as he turned red.
“I liked you better when you were being awkward.” Quinn grumbled. He leaned into Ben, relaxing into his warmth.
“Okay, I’m sorry.” Ben rubbed his thumb over Quinn’s shoulder.
“Good.” Quinn moved around to take Ben’s free hand in his. They rested back against the fountain edge comfortably. “And…I like you too. A lot.”
“Are we dating then?” Ben tilted his head down to the other.
Quinn hummed in thought, glancing up at the other; “Let’s finish this date and then we’ll see.”
He pulled away from the Gryffendor and moved to grab a sandwich. The atmosphere was much lighter after that and conversation came easily. They sprawled out on the blanket together, fingers interlaced, and relaxed.
At the end, Ben walked Quinn down to the Hufflepuff dormitory. They stopped outside of the entrance and Quinn took hold of Ben’s hand.
“This was nice.” Quinn smiled up at him. “I’m glad you decided to sign up. And I’ll need to thank Penny for setting us up.”
Ben laughed; “She’s a good match maker to say the least.”
“We can thank her in the morning. For now-” Quinn leaned up and kissed Ben on the cheek.
Ben blushed; “Does this mean we’re…?”
Quinn rolled his eyes affectionately; “Yes, we’re dating.”
Ben grinned and leaned down to kiss Quinn’s cheek. They exchanged good nights and Ben slipped away to head up to Gryffendor tower. Quinn watched him before heading into the Hufflepuff common room where he was immediately ambushed by Rowan and Penny who wanted all the details of his date night.

NEGATIVE TRAITS: empathetic but ignore it, manipulative, lair, disloyal, questions herself constantly
Headcanons:
Eunmi’s family being in science is very wealthy, never having to worry about how much things cost growing up. It is something she will not give up and why she picked her degree. She doesn’t care if it’s her or her future partner that gets the money as long as she can live the life she is use to living, which is spending when she wants, on what she wants. Designer items, food that was much more expensive than it needed to be, the newest technology, it was something that made Eunmi admit to well, only her self, that she was materialistic. But at least she knows right?
--
Eunmi has dated in the past, both male and female, however she would never say she has been in love. Not that she can’t fall in love, she just hasn’t felt what people would call love before for an certain person. At this point she assumes she may never feel what people say love feels like, because of this she states she is asexual. However there was one ex who she wouldn’t say she loved but the breakup bothered her more than any other because they saw through her lies, wasn’t completely wrapped around her finger and she uses that fear as fuel to make sure she is never caught again.
--
Loyalty was never something that came easy to Eunmi or her mother, when you spend your whole life lying and manipulating the outcomes, your morality is put in question and you wonder what is right and wrong. Why be loyal to something when there was a better deal sitting in front of you? to be honest if the witches gave her a good enough deal Eunmi wouldn’t question betraying the winx. However this is something she hides very well, seemingly spirited and loyal to those close to her, no one really knows how fast she can turn if given the right prize.
Plots Ideas:
College Fly: Going to college together you never actually met but you heard of Eunmi, her reputation of being the top of her class in her degree. Being kind and pretty, all things that Eunmi had made people think during her years there. now you finally meet the Eunmi you had heard so much about and seems, well just like they had said, her image perfect around you where you wouldn’t suspect a thing, you’re choice if you want to be friends with that kind of person or if they annoy you with their perfect attitude, either way Eunmi loves trying to talk to you and maybe that’s the only thing that makes any of it odd.
----
Smoke and Mirrors: You can see through her lies and wonder why other people can’t. It’s like a fake magic act, that tons gasp and awe at and you know how they are doing all the tricks and you wonder why people are enjoying the show. This bothers Eunmi, she can tell you aren’t wrapped around her finger like everyone else is, the fear in her eyes as she thinks that you may see past the smoke and mirrors that she has so precariously set in place. Who are you and how dare you...
Some other ideas:
College friends, running buddies, enemies that try to get the best grade in class, if none of these fit we could brainstorm! If you think of any or want to plot, go ahead and like this and I’ll come to your inbox! (I do not use discord)

korekiyo ? •o•
Mkay! Chaos, you might not want to look because there is untagged mentions of kiyo ships. People who are extremely invested in their Kiyo ships, please try to like. stay calm ig. tw for mentions of S*ster and s*xual preferences in people.
Characters mentions: Korekiyo, Gonta, Shuichi, Maki, Gundham, Celestia, Kyoko, Kiibo, Rantaro, Angie.
Sexuality headcanon: Demiromantic pansexual, definitely. We already know he has no problem with like, hooking up with people of any gender, but after his sister, there's no way he'll be able to fall in love with someone without knowing them on an intimate level first. though, he may feel he knows someone intimately just by watching them..
Gender headcanon: Demiboy, I would think, but with a preference for some of the more commonly assumed feminine pet names.
A ship for him? Out of canon characters, I guess Gonta, Shuichi Maki paired with him is kinda nice. I'm not super into it but I can tolerate it nicely and see the appeal.
BROTP: Him and Gundham, him and Celeste or Kyoko, and him with Kiibo. First two is because aesthetics- Gundham and Kork have several overlapping interests. He'd be very interested in Celestia and Kyoko, especially since they're smart and clever. Him and Kiibo would be good friends because Kiibo stores so much data and wants to learn about humans, and Korekiyo knows so much.
A NOTP: Okay please don't come after me but. The two most popular ships. Amaguji and Shinnaga. Personally I just. really don't like it. Partially from bad experiences. I can read and look at content of it but when I see people doing things like saying that they're real or canon or like, you have no taste/are stupid if you don't like the ship- even if I know it's a joke- or when people say it's like the best ship or completely perfect it makes me really uncomfortable. And Angie is a bit of a discomfort character from me, because of how I interpret her, and my initial impressions. I do like a few au versions of her, but not with kork. While the relationship has the potential to be good, I guess, it also has the potential to be EXTREMELY toxic and insidious. And I just don't really feel the attraction nor appeal (though the art is very nice) Also him x Tenko in most situations is a no no, unless it's a very certain au.
Random headcanon: He probably has like. texture preferences and aversions. His hands are super soft and stuff. Sometimes kiyo gets grossed out by a certain feeling of something he touched and sometimes he gets happy overloaded. He probably wanted to get tattoos based of myths when he was younger (probably wanted a snake tattoo) but freaked out after learning how it would be done. he ended up not doing it, I would think. this would be before his whole "pain is beautiful" thing. I would imagine him to have quite a damaging phobia of most kinds of medical equipment because of sis and the hospital, and needles injecting things into him just hit too close to home.
Overall opinion: I love him. my second favorite character ever. he is very funky and wonderful. i would like to keep him in a nice terrarium where he can be happy and pet his hair. he is boopable.
anyways those are all my thoughts and opinions on this. woooo this was nerve wracking

Come Out and Level Up
inspired by Venna Teng’s Level Up and @mdzsnet‘s LWJ birthday event. 750 words.
EDIT: Now also on AO3
“I mean, I know gay people exist!” Wei Ying says, confidently. “I’ve known for years! But this coworker, I mean it’s the first time I’ve known one, right? I just keep thinking about her, it’s just. I mean she’s so cool! Good for her! And also it’s, well, weird, you know?”
Lan Wangji has waited very patiently through this whole spiel. He has not interrupted. It has been excruciating.
“Wei Ying,” he says, now that there is an opening. “I am gay.”
He thinks he sees the exact moment that Wei Ying short-circuits. He watches him gape, blink, gape some more, and takes quiet pleasure in the fact that he is here now. That he can be the one to surprise Wei Ying. It was the other way around, back in the first few years of their acquaintance. Before fate pulled them away from each other for seven years. He is pleased to be here again, able to display his quiet new confidence. It is not, quite, the first time he has said the words aloud. There was a queer meet up, in his last year of undergrad. A few other times, in sufficiently supportive circumstances. Enough that he knew his voice would be steady, even with this emblem of his past. Even with the person who precipitated this whole course of self-examination.
“Wait,” Wei Ying says, finally. “For real?”
“Mmn,” Lan Wangji says steadily.
“I— what? Since when? How did I not — I mean. Uh, that’s great? I support you? Is it, uh, difficult?”
This is mildly excruciating, but also quite a relief. “I have known for almost ten years,” he says, ignoring the hamfisted mention of support. Coming out? Absolutely. Discussing the emotion involved with the love of his life, who is the kind of straight person who feels the need to assert that to everyone around constantly? Terrible.
“What? You mean you’ve been gay the whole time I’ve known you? And I didn’t realize?”
Theoretically, he has been gay his entire life. In his experience, he has been gay since three weeks after he met Wei Ying, when the idea that all he felt for the other boy was an overpowering annoyance grew untenable. Neither of these answers appeal. “I did not publicize it, at the time.”
“Huh. Huh. So you’re like, gay-gay?”
What does that even mean, Lan Wangji wonders. What is he after? “Technically, homosexual demiromantic gray asexual, to the best of my understanding.”
Wei Ying blinks. It is always satisfying to make him shut up for a moment. “What?”
“‘Queer’ works as well. Or, yes, ‘gay-gay’.”
“No but, what were all those extra words? I mean, homosexual I know — am I allowed to say it? Is that a problem? — But…. Demi-whatsit?”
“Demiromantic. Romantic attraction happens only after an emotional bond.” It’s the closest term he found in all his research for that moment, months into their friendship, when Wei Ying casually referenced some tiny fact he’d learned about Lan Wangji from who-knows-where, and Lan Wangji suddenly realized he would follow him anywhere. “Gray asexual means sexual attraction occurs only in rare or specific circumstances.”
He watches carefully as Wei Ying thinks about that, eyebrows furrowed. It would be possible, Lan Wangji thinks, to untangle that set of words into his true feelings. His brother would no doubt do so immediately. He hopes Wei Ying will not. It seems unlikely.
“So… Wait, romantic and sexual attraction are different?” Wei Ying asks, finally. “Like, they’re different things? What’s that about? I mean, people talk about attraction all as one thing, but you mean… What, some parts can be broken, at first?”
“Not broken. Partitioned, sometimes. Romantic, sexual, aesthetic, platonic. Everyone experiences them differently.”
Wei Ying stares off into the distance. “Wild. Wild.” He keeps staring for a moment, then pulls out his phone. “Hang on, I’m looking this stuff up, that’s so neat. Give me a second.”
He subsides into a frantic Google binge, and Lan Wangji relaxes a little, watching him. This idea, being seen, being known, terrified him once upon a time. It settles something in his heart, being here. Wei Ying’s utter bafflement was more amusing than anything else. His interest and initiative in learning about it are encouraging. He will be a better ally for knowing, Lan Wangji thinks. It feels nice to make such an impact on his friend, his love. He has made long made peace with Wei Ying’s inability to reciprocate his feelings, with being in love with someone tragically straight. He decided years before that he would not burden Wei Ying with his own wishes for the impossible. But it feels good to let the conclusions of himself be known. It feels good to let Wei Ying know, in some capacity, how he has changed Lan Wangji. It is enough for peace —
“Holy shit,” Wei Ying says, still scrolling. “I know nothing about attraction. Like. Nothing. Am I even sexually attracted to girls? Wild.”
— What.
