HA.. Bleach Red version- that's such a cute name! It reminds me of those fanmade Pokemon cartridges/ fanmade rom hacks you could occasionally find floating around in the ether. Surely that's already an established name someone's using! XD

But yes, you got it exactly right! It's literally just a main character/ their deuteragonist counterpart swap. Rukia> Renji, Ichigo> Orihime, and that's it! Just that one difference is enough to completely change how the universe shakes out!

For real, I think Renji and Orihime would have an interesting dynamic together. I've always seen Renji and Orihime as both being somewhat stuck in their own heads, albeit about different things. They both struggle with self worth and making their inner feelings known to the outside world. They're both deeply lonely, deeply unwilling to let other people see past the strong faces they put up without being seriously shaken first... and that's exactly the kind of pressure-pot desperation that makes for a big, life altering split second decision like "loan your powers out so you don't DIE on a mission that was supposed to be easy, that you weren't even supposed to BE on, surely this can't be the third stroke of bad luck on your already very bad day." .. and oops! Now you're a fugitive with a gal who, to the naked eye, is right up there with devout monks in levels of pacifism. Really good! Very nice. This won't be a problem at all! (He said, tattooed eyebrow deep in cold-sweat denial)

And MAN, Rukia's way of communicating her philosophy as a soul reaper vs. how RENJI might do the same thing to try and motivate/bully/inspire someone into taking up substitute work for him? Jesus Christmas. What a shitshow. I love it. I'm standing on the sidelines and crunching popcorn while the cars pile up on both sides of the highway.

what I was talking abt earlier. we have fully looped back around and away from feminism, societally, whereas before it was very Feminism 101 to acknowledge that many parts of existing as a woman in a misogynistic society are painful and upsetting. not that being a woman is Inherently Negative in a bubble. but that living on this earth, in the conditions we're living in, is hostile to women. and that gender is a performance. that many of the Staples Of Femininity as accepted by society are things that you have to create and perform and mold artificially and aren't inherent, that COMPLAINING about day to day difficulties of existing as a woman is something that you're allowed to do. acknowledging these basic, again, feminism 101 things, that something tied to womanhood is more time consuming or more expensive or more dangerous Because Of The Problems. does not CREATE the problems. that when women complain about having to perform femininity, they are not, in fact, oppressing themselves. the call does not come from inside the fucking house. saying that you HAVE suffered does not fucking equate that you believe you SHOULD have suffered.

like I could talk about this for hours. how braindead and one-dimensional the Takes are getting. "being a woman is looking in the mirror and going fuck yeah i'm a woman" damn. I guess any negative experiences you have by living in a misogynistic world... are your fault if you are anything but positive? "you don't actually want liberation" we've fully gone back to telling feminists "you WANT to be oppressed" when anything negative about our society is pointed out. it's not real until I say it out loud, I guess, and then I'm actually the one who caused it. if anybody expresses any unhappiness with how they're treated or the status quo or the language and culture surrounding womanhood and femininity. they've created it, right that second. they invented it just now. it wasn't a problem before somebody complained, right? also trans women aren't braindead zombies who just follow the flow of whatever cis women around them say. I am pretty fucking sure they are very much aware of pain, and are MORE than aware of the swirling torrent of misogyny and standards of femininity than anybody else. actually. and I am pretty sure someone complaining on tumblr that being a woman means always putting on a performance is going to make someone change their mind about transitioning. also "performing femininity" as a necessity to being treated well as a woman is not fucking NEWS to your Local Trans Woman. I AM PRETTY SURE SHE GETS THE CONCEPT. using trans women as a scapegoat for this braindead perspective on gender politics is spineless, meritless, and pathetic.

TPOC-Prioritized writings on anti-transmasculinity / transandrophobia

transandrophobia / anti-transmasculinity are both theories that have been spearheaded primarily by trans poc, particularly Black transmascs and transfemmes.

unfortunately, as with Everything created by queer and trans poc, particularly Black queer ppl, white trans ppl (regardless of gender, and regardless of whether they "believe" in this form of oppression or not) have coopted these theories and dominated these conversations, such that both "sides" of the "discourse" are divorced entirely from the racial connotations in which these theories were created, and the ways in which they were created specifically as an intervention against white feminism, and to highlight the ways multiple marginalizations affect the marginalization of masculinity. these are theories that explicitly interact with and can only be understood in conjunction with transmisogyny, as well as other oppressions like racism and misogynoir.

*"anti-transmasculinity" as a term and theory was coined by Black trans folks (some of whom's writings are linked below), and is specifically a theory within the context of Black transfeminism antiBlackness, and transmisogynoir, and cannot be divorced from that context. i try be very intentional about my use of the terms 'anti-transmasculinity' and 'transandrophobia' in different places here, because i do not want to dilute the former’s very particular context.

anyway, here's a list of miscellaneous writings on the subjects, with a priority for collecting writing from trans poc (not all of the authors are tpoc, but this list was intended to prioritize tpoc voices). the intention of this is not to be a be-all end-all on the subject, nor exalt any one of these individuals or pieces as exclusively ~correct~ or whatever, but to combat the whitewashed nature of these discussions online, and raise awareness to the myriad of people speaking on this subject. (nor do i claim to speak for any of them, or claim that any of them speak for me. i tried to make sure i didn't platform blatant racists, zionists, transmisogynists, or other bigots, but i'm not pretending to be 100% accurate about that.)

they aren't in any particular order (except the first one, which i think is an extremely foundational text for anti-transmasculinity theory as delineated by its creators, within the context of antiblackness and transmisogyny, and necessary reading to understand anti-transmasculinity as a theory). I tried to group all the links from the same authors together.

This is a non-exhaustive list! I will likely come back and add more writings as I find them. please feel free to recommend to me any works to include (including your own! especially if you yourself are a Black trans person or a trans POC).

One such argument, which is really a collection of arguments but can be consolidated into one, is that trans men are attempting to take a place alongside cis men in the hierarchy of patriarchy. In other words, while they may not have been so before naming themselves as trans men, they are aspiring to be oppressors. This employs a number of rhetorical devices that I have identified before including the idea that trans men are “betraying” cis womanhood and therefore should be seen as threats unless they act as footsoldiers for transmisogyny. The problem with this is that it treats trans manhoods as embodiments that exist as something which merely aspires to be cis manhood.

One of my favorite Raeda-related TOH headcanons is that following their break up, Raine accidentally became a famous one-hit wonder with a song they wrote and recorded about their breakup which was why Eda already knew things were okay between the two of them when they reunited in Eda’s Requiem.

Raine, of course, only ever produced the one song before disappearing from the public eye (not that they were really in it to begin with cuz: stage fright) and no one really connected the obscure pop artist from 20 years ago with the new head of the Bard Coven.

I imagine Luz and co find out at some point and hilarity of some sort ensues.

so i'm writing an 8th year fic and h&d are taking a muggle studies class together in which they read one of shakespeare's plays, and i'm trying to write a final project (for which they are partners) but like. hogwarts academics don't seem all that uhhhhh rigorous to me (like we see the students complaining about having to write a foot of parchment which is essentially ONE PAGE HANDWRITTEN) and i'm a little worried that my assignment is too rigorous.

it involves a lot of like. thinking analytically and using your imagination wrt the motivations of people unlike yourself, and that's not rlly something they do much at hogwarts as far as i can see. BUT it is muggle studies, and like. they could definitely all use some practice at those skills, following the recent implosion of their society.

#i showed it to my spouse who is a hs teacher #'where are they getting the books for this research? are there wizarding books about macbeth?' no there are not #the professor chose macbeth bc it has these concepts that will be familiar to them like witchcraft and prophesy #but presented from a muggle perspective #and also bc shakespeare is foundational to english literature and culture and it's good to be familiar with his work #and also bc they don't have a lot of experience with art esp language arts which is so so so sad and this will broaden their world #and ALSO bc shakespeare wrote before the statute of secrecy was signed which hopefully sparks their imaginations #to what extent might shakespeare's work have been impacted by ambient magic? or rumors of magic?#and if they had like a regular english literature education #they could talk about like the role of outcasts in shakespeare's work and whether magical people fit into that role #but they do not so we have to be a bit more literal #for the students that are prepared to like dig into this stuff it could be a very engaging experience #but most of them will prob be a bit lazy with it right? and maybe just resent the assignment and not get much out of it #and like!!!!#this assignment is literally just an excuse to have H&D putting their heads together in the library #and bring their relationship/the fact that they've been warming up to each other and spending time together out into the open #in a plausible deniability sort of way #a friendship soft launch if you will #i get a little carried away about these details sometimes #like if i mention the characters getting sandwiches i will look up menus for places they could plausibly have gotten sandwiches in that are #to make sure the sandwiches i mention are reasonable sandwiches #i heard some dumb story about meghan markle freaking out about not being able to get avocado when she was in the uk #and i remembered a fic i had written where aziraphale and crowley eat egg and avocado sandwiches #and i felt ashamed #an implausible sandwich!!!!

How do you think a modern revalink dynamic would change (if at all) from like dating for a year or two vs. being married for several years? Your most recent post gave me brainworms, and I'm curious if your thoughts line up with mine!

HI IRI i hope you're enjoying the brainworms <3 i had to think about your actual question for a little bit because i got too excited at the idea of married revalink LMAO

tbh revalink being married kind of reminds me of my own parents, who have been married 20+ years, who bicker with each other all the time, but still act like every dinner is their first date because my dad is a sap. so in that sense, i feel like revali and link would still be utterly infatuated with one another, not in the puppy love way, but rather in a more evolved, mature way i guess? like revali will still be extremely fond of link and just how he is as a person, but after being married for 20+ years, he'll look up from his bowl of oatmeal at the breakfast nook to watch link wash the dishes in a tank top and boxers, and feel the urge to get up to hug link from behind. so he does and link will melt into him, continuing to wash the dishes and revali will kiss the back of link's neck, and it's like. this is the most content that revali has ever been in his entire life... until their seven year old comes running into the kitchen screaming being chased by their older sibling and the dog, but you get the point.

the way i'm perceiving it right now, it's like. when they first started dating, you could tell that revalink's dynamic was gonna be "two stubborn shitheads who are so obsessed with each other and fight as flirting", but thirty years later, their dynamic is like "two stubborn shitheads who are still obsessed with each other, but it's like their souls are always falling in step with one another." revali and link know each other like the back of each other's hands, they can predict each other's every movement and thought, and they don't have to say a word to know what the other needs or wants. they both grow really soft and sentimental over each other, and no one expects that from revali particularly. he can still bite tho (especially if you insinuate anything negative about him, link, or their marriage/family) so y'all be on your guard!

i do want to emphasize though, revali doesn't lose his tsundere-ness lol. like i said, he can still bite! he'll always have that streak of pride and arrogance but it's been significantly tempered by link's presence which is why i want to note that he's softer, not soft. but if you can catch the way he looks at link, any doubt you could have held that he loves link will disappear in seconds.

as for link, he's probably a little less feral than he was when they first started dating, but he's still jumping revali's bones at any given opportunity. definitely the type to let everyone know he has a husband and he loves his husband very much. revali's presence in his life has made link significantly brighter and sweeter to everyone around him because revali is his rock and link knows he always has someone to support him up through everything, so he doesn't need to worry.

so to completely answer your question: it's not that their dynamic changes by a lot, it just evolved and got stronger and more powerful. like pokemon. 😃👍
