But yes, you got it exactly right! It's literally just a main character/ their deuteragonist counterpart swap. Rukia> Renji, Ichigo> Orihime, and that's it! Just that one difference is enough to completely change how the universe shakes out!

For real, I think Renji and Orihime would have an interesting dynamic together. I've always seen Renji and Orihime as both being somewhat stuck in their own heads, albeit about different things. They both struggle with self worth and making their inner feelings known to the outside world. They're both deeply lonely, deeply unwilling to let other people see past the strong faces they put up without being seriously shaken first... and that's exactly the kind of pressure-pot desperation that makes for a big, life altering split second decision like "loan your powers out so you don't DIE on a mission that was supposed to be easy, that you weren't even supposed to BE on, surely this can't be the third stroke of bad luck on your already very bad day." .. and oops! Now you're a fugitive with a gal who, to the naked eye, is right up there with devout monks in levels of pacifism. Really good! Very nice. This won't be a problem at all! And MAN, Rukia's way of communicating her philosophy as a soul reaper vs. how RENJI might do the same thing to try and motivate/bully/inspire someone into taking up substitute work for him? the funniest meltdown ive ever had was in college when i got so overstimulated that i could Not speak, including over text. one of my friends was trying to talk me through it but i was solely using emojis because they were easier than trying to come up with words so he started using primarily emojis as well just to make things feel balanced. this was not the Most effective strategy... until. he tried to ask me "you okay?" but the way he chose to do that was by sending "👉🏼👌🏼❓" and i was so shocked by suddenly being asked if i was dtf that i was like WHAT???? the wangxian + a-yuan "dads with an adopted son" thing is fine and enjoyable in fanfics honestly but I think we as a fandom are really not utilizing the idea of all of them in unconventional familial structures enough. Like, canonically it wasn't so much that wwx was a-yuan's guardian as that a-yuan was being raised collectively by the wens and wwx was adopted INTO the larger wen family. And lwj got attached to him through that. A-yuan just has these very attached weird uncles/older cousin figures that aren't related to him by blood at all but keep sticking around.

Just think of a modern AU with a lot less death where lwj does as he does in canon and keeps showering a-yuan in gifts as much as he can and when wwx is like "aiyah lan zhan you're gonna spoil him. Not everyone is as rich as you! What's his family supposed to say if they can't buy him all the stuff you do?" lwj just goes "Hm". And from then on out every year once a-yuan's birthday is near the extended Wen family members (well. the ones that are invited that is. No one wants wen chao at a birthday party) wakes up to a wechat payment from lwj.

one of my favorite Percy headcanons is that even after he no longer has the Curse of Achilles, the small of his back is still his Achilles' Heel. It won't kill him but it's still his weakest point.

Like, he hates if anybody even brushes against there unless it's Annabeth because it's too sensitive and it basically physically hurts him. He has to be the little spoon Always because it makes him feel like his back is protected. If anyone hits him in the small of his back even without a lot of force, like a friendly slap on the back, he will crumple like wet paper. His friends poke him in the small of his back just cause every time he will immediately stumble and start complaining at them and they find it funny. If someone actually smacks him in the back with any amount of real force he will be on the ground immediately and stay there. If he gets actually scratched there he will be bedridden for days. The curse may be gone but he will always carry it with him.

when Quaritch approaches Spider, Tuk hisses at him (hard to see in photo cause they were little baby hisses)

when Jake tells spider to get "them" out of there, spider immediatly calls for Tuk (and grabs Kiri)

my conclusion? she and Spider are besties, no one puts their hands on his baby sister, I rest my case.
