Meanwhile, MC is trying to figure out what to put on his new patient paperwork. They're gonna have to come up with a believable year for his birthday on the spot. And I suppose they could just say he has no history of illness in his family at all, which would technically be true? MC's like okay no medications, pretty sure Simeon doesn't smoke, uh... and then they'd have to ask. Hey Simeon, are you sexually active? I gotta know for the papers.

And Simeon's just like excuse you?? (Unless MC already knows the answer to this question tee hee...)

Do they even make the small pox vaccine anymore?? I have no idea, to be honest with you. Gonna need a TDAP and whatever they call the ones for measles & mumps... the dr's like... uhhh does he want the COVID vaccine too? Simeon's not going to understand the political nonsense behind that question, so he just goes with whatever MC suggests. Do they still do the polio vaccine?? I'm not sure about that one, either, but he might need that, too.

I think there may be some time in between things like I think TDAP has two shots? He might have to go back for a second round on some of them. I don't know if you can even get them all at once. Also if he's already got the diseases would it be too late?? I really don't know lol.

I like to think that he managed to survive, even if it was a trial by fire, through the help of MC and the miracle of modern medicine. What a way to welcome him to his new human life!

When I saw your ask I had to do a double-take, because I figured that you’d ask about Kyrah and Chase! But Kyrahlise and Blade are fun too! And so frustrating before they get together, lol! Now, without further adieu, here are the answers to the Romance Asks *dramatically gestures towards the answers*

1. What drew your character to their LI and vice versa?

Blade was drawn to Kyrahlise because she’s kind, hardworking, always trying to do what’s right, and keeps improving her combat abilities and magic. She also acts like she feels at ease around him and teases him. (Which gets to my headcanon that he likes it when people aren’t afraid of him and act normal around him.) 

Kyrahlise was drawn to Blade because despite all he’s done and seen, he’s still very kind and considerate. Also he’s incredibly fun to tease! He respects her abilities and knowledge, and she feels safe speaking her mind to him because he gives what she has to say due thought. What seals the deal is in Chapter 4 when he’s so angry about what happened to her. It’s been a long time since anyone has given a shit if she were safe, or wanted to protect her.

3. When they are having a fight, what is it about and how do they deal with it? 

The number one thing these two would fight about is Kyrahlise feeling like Blade is overprotective of her, and Blade feeling like she is too independent and reckless. Once Kyrah understands just how scared he is of losing her, and that he needs to know she’s safe, she’s going to take a long hard look at how she acts. She’ll agree to work on making her safety a higher priority, and communicating better before she runs off. When Blade realizes that she feels a little stifled and like he doesn’t fully trust her, I’m sure he’ll agree to reign in his protectiveness to some degree. Of course it’s something they both have to work on to find a balance, but they will eventually.

The silly thing about this argument is that she likes that he’s protective, and he likes that she’s independent and wants to tackle problems! They just both think the other takes it too far.

4. Their favorite physical feature on each other?

According to Lena, romanced!Blade loves MC’s eyes, hair, and lips (or just face in general), and we know he’s into a nice butt! I change my mind regularly as to which is his favorite, but right now I'm going to say her eyes!

Kyrahlise loves Blade’s smile! It fills her with joy to see him happy and relaxed enough to genuinely smile. She has an internal ‘got the stoic, ex-assassin to smile’ counter! Overall she thinks he’s a very beautiful and handsome man, but his smile is her favorite.

24. Is there any moment that happens between them that you know happens and just makes you melt? 

One time Kyrahlise sat on Blade’s lap briefly as he’s working to tell him something and give him a little kiss before getting up to read. (He’s a head taller than her, so she uses whatever she can to make it easier to kiss him!) But Blade doesn’t want her to go, so she’s like “fine, I’ll just read here” thinking that he’ll eventually get tired of her sitting on his lap. She severely underestimates how much he likes having her close. But he’s warm, and she feels very safe and cozy, so she falls asleep. Since he doesn’t want to wake her up, he stops working. And he’s probably having a hard time not staring at her because he thinks she’s very cute!

25. Share any headcanons about their relationship.

As soon as Blade lets her, Kyrahlise starts cutting his hair. She secretly thinks his haircut is atrocious. Though once she gives him a better haircut she realizes she played herself because now he looks even more handsome! (Kyrah’s been cutting her own hair since her mother died. Most people can’t be trusted to cut curly hair right, and she’s a touch vain about her hair.)

They trade books of poetry with each other and then talk about which ones they like and why. It’s like a little book club with just the two of them!

Blade’s office stops looking quite so bare, because Kyrahlise makes him some art to put up. If anyone dares to criticize it or make any disparaging remarks about it in his presence they get his death glare!

i have so much love in my heart it’s unreal

#thank GOD i’m going to visit my family in a couple days - i need a BREAK it’s getting overwhelming #but also i love my coworker so much #in a platonic way - she’s like a little sister to me #she’s so motivated and she has SO much potential and i am so proud of her and excited to see her learn and grow #and i want to help in any way i can #i hype her up to my boss and our other coworkers and upper management whenever possible #because she deserves it and nobody else is gonna do it #my boss is nice enough - but she doesn’t talk us up much which is a shame #so it’s up to me to make sure my coworker is being appreciated properly #because she is doing a TON of good work and i need to make sure she knows how incredible that is #she is too hard on herself and needs to take more time for herself to rest because she doesn’t get nearly enough #me and our other coworker have made it our personal mission to ensure that she takes care of herself #and she’s actually doing meaningfully better since we took an interest and - again - i am SO proud of her #i’m currently trying to convince her not to take too much on this summer and i *THINK* it’s going well #ultimately she’s going to be limited by reality regardless #but it would be better for her to plan less rather than try to do everything and get burnt out #i think she thrives on intense pressure just like i do - but that’s also wildly unhealthy to endure for long stretches #so i’m gonna keep working at it

#protests #france #just me rambling #i'm getting real tired of those posts being like ''in the US we cant protest like the french do cuz we get violently repressed'' #it is undeniable!! i am not arguing with the fact your riots got stifled very violently. it fucking sucks #but we ALSO do!! The french government literally got denounced by the UN for its use of weapons and ultra-violence against protesters #just a couple days ago there was a huge protest against an installation that would ruin us ecologically #in a continuation to the pension protests #the cops fired 4000 grenades in two hours. #several of those aimed directly at protestors. which is illegal and very dangerous and can KILL #40 heavily wounded. two people are between life and death. #someone lost an eye. a journalist got hit by a grenade in the leg and is gonna be out of work for 2 months. #one is still in a coma. it's been five days. he might die. #it took two hours for the ambulance to get there for him cuz it got blocked by the cops. which is extremely illegal. but they're cops. #and this is one protest but it's like that all the time #last week a woman got her thumb torn off by a grenade shot directly at her #there literally is a recurring joke among cops about 'losing hands' cuz of the sheer amount of ppl who got theirs torn off like this #i sympathize with americans your cops are fucking nightmares. #but so are ours. we get beaten up and mangled and killed. but we're still out there #stop pretending we only riot the way we do cuz we have it easy. i'm legit going to kick your ass #i didn't distribute eye drops to my fellow teargassed protestors last week in my tiny ass city to be told we play on easy mode #anyway. grabbing my medic kit and going out to protest again in an hour. what will You do?

I can't believe it's been a week without Little Man... When he first came home he was so happy and excited. He would play for two to three hours straight. He loved his food time but then he would go back to playing, with naps in between before his regular nighttime sleep.

Seeing him decline from that to never playing, always starving and wanting food because of his illness (the poor thing had no fat at all to keep him warm by the end...) and otherwise just sleeping really hurt. It hurt even more to see him after a deworming process want to play. He was attentive and alert, and when he heard his toys he would look with wide eyes like he wanted to play, but he was in too much pain to be able to.

During the deworming we had to keep him separated from my other cat, so he was in another room and we visited him throughout the day (and night) repeatedly and spent long periods of time with him. At night that room would get a bit cold because of its size, and sometimes I'd go in there and it was cold and I was worried he was also feeling cold... but recently I realized he really probably was because he had no fat to retain his body heat. I'm so glad I put a little blanket over him on his bed and tried my best to keep him warm. I would keep my door open so the heat could get out and keep coming back on or just stay on so it would heat up the room he was in.

His real name was Cumulus because my mom named him after that type of cloud, but I started to call him Little Man and it stuck. He knew that was what I called him, too! He started to respond after a little while!

By the end he could barely eat or even meow because it hurt to move his mouth. His jaw must have been deteriorating, and we were told his gums looked terrible. When he did eat, he could only eat wet food and even that was hard. We would hear a hard crunching sound when he ate wet food, so I'm pretty certain something was very wrong with his jaw. That was why he was always so hungry at the end - he couldn't eat enough to sustain himself.

We only had him for two months but he was so happy, sweet and precious before that illness really started to kick in. It's hard losing a cat, but it's even harder losing a five month old kitten who had so many years of life left to live. He was so sweet and playful that I can't believe how fast his illness destroyed his body from the inside out. He was bright and loving and he didn't deserve what happened to him.

Frankly, I do put some blame on the guy who sold him to us. He claims to be a rescue operation and that's fine, but he knew the mother was sick and didn't make it, yet he didn't think to check for dangerous illnesses on this cat or his sister who was adopted at the same exact day and time as he was? When we adopted him, we've now realized he was showing at least three signs of his illness already (breathing speed, heat/temperature and wobbly eyes that he often couldn't keep still). He had other issues so we didn't know what was wrong until the day the vet did an ultrasound and said he wasn't going to make it to a year old even with medication.

Imo the guy who runs that business should know the signs of illness in a cat. If you work in that profession you should know what to look out for - especially if the mother was sick before giving birth. As the shelter, it's his responsibility to know the signs and take care of health issues before adopting out. His negligence and lack of knowledge/awareness cost my family a lot of heartache and many vet bills of us just trying to find the problem. If you're working in a field with animals and adopting them out to others as a business, for the love of fuck, know all the details involved in your profession. I understand he rescues cats from kill shelters which is wonderful, but he takes in sick cats as well but then somehow doesn't notice the signs of them or their offspring being ill? It makes me think he didn't interact with them enough to notice, so again - negligence. If anyone knew what the kitten had, they might have been able to save him by medicating him before any damage could truly be done to him. Unfortunately the medication is not yet legal and is essentially on the black market and can cost thousands of dollars that we couldn't afford, but god I would've started a fundraiser to save his life if we had known. This sweetheart did not deserve the pain and suffering he went through.

I'm sad and I'm angry at this man's lack of awareness. If you're going to adopt out cats, know that you're adopting out a sick cat or potentially sick cat so you can inform and warn the adopters. "I never would've sold you a sick cat if I had known" isn't going to cut it. You should know if that's your business. That knowledge could've saved this kitten's life, or even just helped him to get on medicine to make his last months painless.

I miss you, Little Man. I love you so much. I hope we gave you the best life you could've possibly had in the time that you had. I hope all the craziness and play and love was just how you would've always lived your life. You were too sweet and you should've never had to be taken from us that young.

Hi guys I think I had/have serotonin syndrome today and yesterday. Started a new drug for el fibro

#I started lyrica but I’m already on cymbalta #I took the lowest dose only once for two days and I’m hypersensitive so it did it to me #I feel so out of it. I messaged my doctor cuz I only have the mild symptoms and not a TON of them but #got the headache the EXTREME anger/agitation the diarrhea and I feel out of it and had trouble swallowing a little bit #a little cold yesterday but nothing too unusual #I didn’t take today’s dose of cymbalta or my vitamins cuz idk if #they can fuck me up #and I’m skipping lyrica till my doctor says to take it again #I asked her for the liquid version so I can take like 10 mg instead of 50 #but the crazy thing is it worked like INSTANTLY within a couple hours of taking it the first day which was Saturday #and it’s supposed to take 2-4 weeks. so. that’s the sign in my family that the dose is too high/something is wrong lmao #but Saturday was pure bliss. I felt calm but energetic. least amount of pain I’d had in years without being stoned out of my gourd #I was happy. nice. polite. things that usually annoyed me and made me snap just didn’t. I could tolerate things so well #I REALLY hope I can take this drug on a micro dose cuz the lack of pain has been phenomenal. I didn’t wear my ankle braces today cuz I’m #still not in pain #my brother had serotonin syndrome from taking a half a dose of an antidepressant once so it seems like a genetic predisposition #like the pain relief is on par with having hydrocodone after my tonsil or wisdom teeth removal it’s INSANE #i just need to um. not have probable serotonin syndrome lmao

Smiler wandered upstairs briefly to talk to Victor, as they were feeling a bit lonely, then flew back downstairs to continue their apothecary work (can't stop until all that basil is used up on Red Hot Tablets!). Alice kept working on the mural until thirst compelled her to get a drink of water -- she enjoyed that by the fountain, then went to scrub up her glass in the bathroom at the same time Victor was scrubbing up some more spoiled food out of the fridge. XD The couple that washes dishes together, stays together? Anyway, she had a jar of eggplant compote (an entire jar, as you can see -- bit of a glitchy session, this one! XD) to soothe her hungry tummy, then went right back to painting and spraying the side of the building. Victor, for his part, took a moment to Copypasto some more Tummy Therapy and Deodorizing Cream to fill out the Herbalism Shelf (I'd love to have put more NEW products there, but as previously noted, I just don't have the ingredients for Smiler to make them!), then hopped right back on flower arranging. By the time they were done, it was super late (hell, I think it was after midnight), and none of them had the greatest needs...

But oh, look at that store! Look at those lovely full shelves! :D The push was worth it -- finally, FINALLY, the store is ready to open! AND Smiler and Victor both got some new skills -- Victor, unsurprisingly, is now up to Flower Arranging level 5, while Smiler has gotten to Apothecary level 4, and now can make an even bigger selection of tablets and gummies! Including Rose Perfume tablets, which, another great way to use up all those flowers they have around...

-->But for now, it was time to send them home -- to find that it had snowed while they were away! Just in time for Winterfest! Alice, being very hungry and needing the bathroom, promptly transformed into her beast form and ran off for a pee and a hunt, while Victor offered up his wrist to the thirsty Smiler, who gladly took a sip of their favorite plasma. Alice returned from her hunt with a steak as Victor stumbled off to bed and Smiler went to check on SimsTube trends, and then (after an adorable moment with Shadow), headed off to bed herself. And so the episode ends with everyone settling in after a day well-spent -- including the fish! :D Yup, for once you can see the whole gang swimming around in there! Just glad Chewy, Punchy, Overthe, and Jangles all seem to be getting along. :)

So yeah -- store is FINALLY good for opening! However, I think we can agree that the trio has earned something of a break. So, next time, the focus is on relaxation, as the gang celebrates another Winterfest! How does it go? You'll have to wait and see...
