Winter king with an S/O who has a lot of body warmth

CW: A little bit of angst towards the end. Mention of reader's death. Possible spoilers for Fionna and Cake episode 6

Entirely sfw. I know there is nsfw potential on this idea, so I might do that later, but the worst yall do is snuggle, kiss, and sleep in the same bed.

I think Pre-Crown/Pre-Apocalypse Simon would sleep super warm with heat pads and all, and I don't think this would change much with Winter King.

He’s obviously very cold to the touch, and he’s used to the cold, but he practically melts when he holds and touches you.

Like if he snuggles with you, he finds it so easy to fall asleep, but it’s so difficult to sleep without you.

He gets so used to snuggling with you fr.

At the same time he gets a little worried about sapping you of all your warmth.

He makes sure you have plenty of blankets and warm clothes.

He definitely goes overboard on that though. He’s forgotten that you don’t need like 5 jackets to snuggle with him.

Kisses are legendary to him, especially when he gets to embrace you with it.

He does think they might be uncomfortable for you since he's so cold though.

If you're into those kisses as much as he is, you have to let him know. Otherwise, he might restrain himself more than he needs to.

At least half of the time he gets kidnapped is bc he’s snuggled up with you, man.

I really think that since he can fight and has competent guards, something has to happen in order for him to get captured.

When you’re around its bc he’s so relaxed and he lets his guard down.

The Candy Queen is also probably more likely to kidnap him if he sees him enjoying his time with you.

Another thing that’s weird to bring up in almost entirely fluffy headcanons is the idea that if something were to happen to you, he couldn’t make an ice version of you.

The dude is not in a good place mentally. All his madness, grief, etc. is put on Bubblegum, so he just feels empty.

He might make an ice version at first, but he’ll get rid of it once he realizes that something is off.

He’d probably get a heat pad so he can be comfortable and forget about you afterward.

Winterking Hc where GN reader has extreme mental breakdown and tends to bottle shit up

❄️ normally he tends to go to bed rather early Howe you start to ramble heavily leading to hot tears down your face he’s never seen you cry until now and demands his scouts to get tissues and gives you a gunter plushy stat as he pulls you closer slightly frantically asking what’s wrong.

❄️ he may or may not admire the feeling of wiping the warm tears away in contrast to his hands, however if you manage to tell him to slow down eventually he simply stops and sits there listening keeping you close and assured any little insecurity reminding you how you’re the most wonderful thing that’s ever happened to him and how much you’ve grown as a person under his care.

❄️ he also reminds you that you are so loved and would do just about anything for you- well except taking a boiling bath with you he’d decease under that kinda heat he said as he chuckled. But he’d do anything to keep you safe and happy.

❄️ it’s around 3 am before you finally let everything out little circles under his eyes and yours a little puffy and slightly pink as he tucks the two of you in and spoons you using his arms to secure you the best he can whispering one last frosty i love you royalty of my life.

❄️Winter King Caring for Reader HCs❄️

I got covid yayyyyy so here is how I think Winter King would take care of Reader if they got sick, enjoy! In this, Reader is a bodyguard for WK, whom he has hidden feelings for.

Finding out you're sick:

It takes a bit for Winter King to notice you're sick, either because you try your best to play it off as just a small cold, or because he's being kidnapped by Candy Queen so often he barely has any time to see how you're feeling.

That is until after a particularly tough rescue mission, you quite literally collapse in his arms due to your fever getting too high.

He freaks out, because this has never happened before. He places a hand on your forehead and notices you're burning up, so despite how you're usually the one who carries him back to his ice castle, this time he creates an ice carriage with his powers so you don't further exert yourself.

Yes, he could always do that, he just enjoyed being carried around by you, but even he isn't heartless enough to make you do that when you can barely stand on your own. He may not show it often, but he does care about you.

He notices you're shivering on the ride back, so he places his jacket on you to shield you a bit from the cold. He's fine with just a shirt, cold doesn't bother him at all thanks to the crown's powers.

A realization:

Once you two are back in the castle, he immediately orders his Ice Scouts to make your room extra cozy, and soon you are resting in your bed, in whatever position you feel better in, wrapped in blankets.

Winter King has never seen you so sick, so he's concerned to say the least. He has a tough time establishing serious connections with others due to his past, but seeing you in such a state is really making him realize how important you are for him.

When he notices the way he's feeling, he's quite overwhelmed and goes to his laboratory to try and take his mind off of things, while he leaves the Ice Scouts to take care of you. He just can't fathom the idea of caring so deeply for someone... not again, after what happened with Betty and Marceline.

He starts spiraling... what if you never recover from this? He briefly considers making an ice clone of you if the worst comes, but he quickly tosses that idea to the side.

WK will not let you get worse, he's going to make sure you recover from this fever! This is something very important for him... the proof that he can still save people if he wishes.

The small things he does for you:

Winter King comes back from his lab... with hot cocoa, or any other warm drink he knows you're going to enjoy.

He sits beside you on the bed, dismissing the Ice Scouts, saying he's going to take it from here, and begins to softly run his hand through your hair. His hand is soft and cool, which is a very pleasant feeling since your forehead is burning hot.

The following days, he's the one who always brings you your meals, making sure they're your favorites. He also ensures you're always staying hydrated.

He's never really made such big efforts to make someone happy, but he'd be lying if he said seeing you smile and thank him didn't make his heart flutter.

He also sings to you, 100% convinced listening to his voice will make your illness go away. It doesn't make the process any faster... but it is very pleasant, so you comply.

He's very protective of you, making sure all of your needs are met, keeping that up even when you start feeling better, finding that... it's pretty difficult to stop treating you so well... he might have to promote you from bodyguard to partner if things keep going that way... now wouldn't that be funny?

• To be honest, he’s also pretty cowardly, but although he isn’t as brave and strong as Finn and Jake , when it comes down to it he always puts your safety and wellbeing above all else, even his own.

• Even though he’s scared himself, he’ll try his best to be the knight in shining armor you deserve

• He’ll sit outside the dressing room in stores while you try on dress after dress, always telling you that you look beautiful no matter what you wear. To him, anything and everything looks good on you!

• Tries to help you apply your makeup, but he always gets flustered being so close to your face and might accidentally poke your eye trying to do your mascara (Sorry honey!)

• One thing he is good at is painting your nails, years of handling delicate artifacts has given him steady hands, and with enough practice he can make some pretty detailed designs

• If he sees a piece of jewelry or an accessory he thinks you might like, he’ll save up his salary to buy it for you as a gift. Eating nothing but cheap ramen and coffee for a month is totally worth it when he sees the smile on your face.

• If you ask him to get dolled up with you, he will be a little hesitant, saying that he could never look as good as you, but with enough persuading and some really good puppy eyes he’ll let you put him in a dress and some minimal makeup. Surprisingly, he finds he likes it more than he though he would!

• Literally a match made in heaven.

• Winter King’s whole thing is being the gentlemanly hero who swoops in to save damsels in distress like you, it feeds his ego so much.

• He’s always ready to valiantly save you from any threat, even something as simple as trying to get something off the top shelf. He’ll burst in the room shouting, “ Fear not, fair maiden! Your King is here to protect you!”

• Sometimes he’ll let Candy Queen kidnap you just so he can be the one to save you, he’s that confident that nothing bad can ever happen to you as long as he’s around.

• He is also very in touch with his feminine side, and he loves that the two of you share this!

• He’ll make matching ice themed outfits for both of you, loving how you look in those icy blues and powdery whites

• Like his voice actor BDG, he loves having his nails painted and will set up regular mani-pedi spa days for you both to relax together.

• Will make you a big, poofy princess gown and invite you to dance with him in the throne room, twirling you around like the scene in Beauty and the Beast.

• He just wants you to always feel as beautiful as he thinks you are.

Headcanons about the Winter Kingdom because you don't know this universe and The Winter King like I do (I have had him for 1 singular day):

- Him and his crown are almost fused in a way. They share emotions and some of the feelings that the Winter King has are actually the crown's

- His Betty never went through that time portal. She never went missing. Instead, she tried to convince him to leave the crown and its power. Because of this the crown and therefor the Winter King don't see her in a loving light

- He killed his Marceline. She was a teen, not as old as she is in the land of Ooo, and was questioning his actions and rebelling against him. There's a reason the Winter King keeps an ice version of her as a child and not a teen or young adult

- Finn and Jake don't exist! At least not like they do I Ooo. Not only because we don't see them but because the Winter King has been projecting his madness onto Candy Queen for hundreds of years. It's not too crazy to think that a lot of the people we're used to seeing in Ooo simply don't exist.

- Candy Queen's escalation in the episode from love to getting ready to kill is incited by a second Simon. The PB inside couldn't stand the idea of another Simon wreaking havoc in this world.

- The Winter King keeps his hair long so Ice Marcy can put little braids in it

- To the Winter King, even getting kidnapped is a bit of a game. He revels in having someone who is a bit obsessed with him (because he is deeply self obsessed. Dude was strongly considering making out with an alternate version of himself)

Winter king X GN reader who struggles with body heat and taking care of themselves (ie: good hydration or has fainting tendencies)

I think a lot of the stuff from my previous headcanons still apply, and I recommend those if you haven’t read them. Everything I’ve added here is for the reader who has so much body heat to the point that they sweat a lot and suffer from heat exhaustion super easily. If that isn’t what you meant anon, feel free to send another ask or message me!

Warnings: Mentions of fainting, sweating, and general hyperthermia. Also, mentions of getting kidnapped by Candy Queen.

• The first time he notices that you have symptoms of any kind of hyperthermia in front of him, it concerns him, especially if you’re in the Winter Kingdom. He obviously never has these symptoms now. He may have while he was adventuring as Simon, but that was so long ago.

• Even if you tell him that you have those issues, he brushes it off while you’re in the Winter Kingdom. He’d be more vigilant about it if you were outside of his Kingdom, but he assumes that the Winter Kingdom is too cold for it to be an issue.

• However, while most of the Winter Kingdom is freezing, some areas are just comfortable, staying at around 60-70 degrees Fahrenheit. If you overexert yourself, you could still get hot. This doesn’t even occur to him though, and it could take him a minute to notice your symptoms.

• When he does notice your symptoms, he calmly ices the area around you and gets you to stop whatever you’re doing. He’ll use his magic to get you some water, but he’ll send his scouts for something with electrolytes, like a Gatorade or Pedialyte (or Ooo equivalent). If he must, he finds the closest doctor that could help you.

• After this, he’s a lot more vigilant with your needs.

• He keeps the Kingdom stocked (or encourages the shop owners in the Kingdom to be stocked) with whatever electrolyte-filled drinks you like.

• While you’re outside of the Kingdom, he makes sure to bring electrolyte-filled drinks and maybe some water and a cooler for when he’s not around.

• I also think he’d be the type to get you one of those water bottles with measurements on the side. The scouts fill it for you in the morning, and he’s stuck stickers next to the measurements that get progressively happier as it empties.

• Honestly, he’d probably make an extra ice scout whose whole job is just to watch you and make sure you take care of yourself and don’t pass out.

• Additionally, the Candy Queen tends to kidnap the Winter King’s partners, but once she’s aware of your condition, she’d also give you what you need in your cell. She’s like the Ice King; as long as she doesn’t have a grudge against you, she doesn’t want you to die or anything. She just doesn’t want you getting in the way of her pursuit of the Winter King.

• To be honest, if you’ve ever fainted in front of the Winter King or had any serious symptoms in front of him, he’ll treat you the same even if you have mild symptoms. He just doesn’t want it to get to that point.

• He makes sure you stretch often and don’t sit too long. That’s not too hard for him anyways because he’d drag you along the Kingdom all the time even without your condition.

• If you do need to stretch, he’s happy to let you lean on him or use him for balance; he doesn’t want you to lean on anything icy so you don’t slip.

• You might be embarrassed about talking about it, but if you sweat a lot, he makes sure you always have clean clothes ready as well as anything you need for hygiene. Any deodorants, perfumes, soaps, etc. Is in your bathroom and restocked often.

• Despite feeling a little worried about your symptoms, the main thing he feels is relief that you’ve met him. Who else could take such great care of you? It fulfills some purpose for him. Sure, he feels useful and capable because of the many things he does around his Kingdom and Ooo, but being able to help you makes him feel useful in a way that he hasn’t felt in a long time.

Hi! To answer your question, No human being in the world is perfect. If we want to find a defect in our king, it will be just leprosy. I don't think that obsession was something unusual for him, as he had a little memory of his mother Agnes of Courtenay as a child, and his visits to Sibylla were infrequent. So it will be normal for him to be sensitive to the most important woman in his life so that he doesn't want to lose her. Second, the fear of the siege and loss of Jerusalem will be equally worrying for him, so obsession and fear will be natural things to him, and I don't think it should be viewed as a unusual things.

Uh oh, snow storm:

The Winter Wonderworld seems to be in a constant state of winter, but it too can still be affected by the passing of seasons and weather conditions.

This happened during a particularly harsh snow storm, which not even Winter King could tame with his powers, after all, he can only make more cold, not control nature. So you two had just decided to relax inside the castle, safe from the storm, sipping on hot cocoa, cuddled up in a blanket.

That is... until you heard a knock at the door. Who could it be? And with such a nasty weather too. Well... about five or more little round penguins!

You both don't have the heart to leave them outside, so you quickly invite them into the living room, and you immediately go grab a large blanket so they can all huddle up in it and warm up again.

Thinking they'd be alright for now, the King picks you up and drags you back to the couch for more cuddles.

Pesky penguins:

What you two didn't expect was other groups of penguins seeing you guys letting some in, which led to more and more penguins showing up to your doorstep.

The situation quickly becomes dire. There's not enough blankets for everyone, even after you gave up the one you were cuddling into as well. And WK doesn't really know how to feel about a cozy day being interrupted by what has now become... about 20 penguins roaming around in the living room. He loves the little Gunters, but this is a bit too many!

He does lose a bit of his temper in this situation, especially because the penguins are very curious fellas and keep touching and pecking everything they can.

In these occasions you often notice him slipping up and calling all the penguins Gunter... you wonder where that came from.

But seeing you actually having fun with the penguins, petting them and giving them little treats makes him realize this isn't a bad way to spend the day at all.

Coziness overload:

He takes you to the side for a moment, seemingly having an idea on how you can both enjoy this situation, and he asks you to go get some warm beverages and popcorn, while he goes to look for... something else (it's a surprise).

The penguins are quite confused at first, but start following you around the moment they smell the food, which is perfect because it gives the King enough time to grab what he needed. You end up giving the penguins their warm drinks, but you're still waiting for Winter King to come back.

While you're still trying to keep the penguins off the popcorn, you hear WK clapping his hands to get everyone's attention. He's brought... movies!!

Your eyes sparkle at the sight. Movies are such a rare thing! You had no idea Winter King had any- you rush to the couch, causing the 20 penguins following after you, still waddling with blankets around them, while the King sets up a TV and a VHS player. You wonder how he's gotten all those things, but those questions quickly disappear from your brain when he sits next to you and wraps his arm around you.

Seeing you two cuddle up, the penguins want to join in and all get on and around the couch, watching the movie and occasionally asking for popcorn, or to be picked up and held by the both of you.

Winter King can't help but smile. This was definitely an unexpected way to spend the day... but he feels like it couldn't have been better.

Summary: You're adventuring through this interesting little world, and find yourself in a snowstorm. Next thing you know, you're in some kind of ice palace. What happened?

Walking through the snow, you look up into the sky. Cloudy. Best be quick.

A chilly breeze sneaks through the fabric of your shirt and deep into your bones. It would've been better if you'd brought a jacket. Though you didn't think your wish prepared you for that.

"I wish..."

"You better think about this hard, dude. You only get one."

"Okay, okay. I wish... Hm..."

"Want a pickle?"

You agreed to Prismo's offer, gladly taking the snack. You crunched while you thought. Man, these were good pickles.

"Okay man, I'll admit I got nowhere to be, but you were kinda interrupting me. I was watching TV."

You tell Prismo that he can watch while you think, as you hadn't thought you would make it this far. He shrugged, and pressed a button on his remote.

You saw him flipping through channels rapidly, looking for one in particular.

"Hey, Prismo."

"Hm?"

"Are those just.. Shows? Or-"

"Oh, they're universes. Y'know, the multiverse theory right? I just get to watch everything. Perks of being an omnipresent god-type thing."

You think about your wish for another few moments. You snapped your fingers, and Prismo paused the TV.

"You know what you want?"

You nodded, rubbing your hands together.

"I wish that I-" "Be descriptive. Just in case, Y'know?"

You sighed with an exasperated smile. Taking a deep breath, you asked your question.

"I wish that I had the ability to travel freely and safely through the multiverse at will."

Prismo coughed loudly, as if choking on something. He took a deep breath, sighing.

"Okay, okay. So- I actually don't know if I'm allowed to do that."

"sigh."

"Did- did you just say 'sigh'?"

Prismo shook his question off, and sighed himself. He explained to you what he was and wasn't allowed to do, and how you were in a gray area of the rules. He finally shrugged.

"What could go wrong?"

He snapped his fingers, and suddenly you weren't in the time-cube-thingy anymore. You were in a grassy field. You felt something in the back of your pocket, and bringing it out, you saw a small pocket watch.

There was a note folded up and taped to the back of it. The handwriting was almost too small to see.

Yo, this thing is weird, right? Just wind the clock when you wanna change universes.

Don't break it.

I'm serious, this thing is expensive.

So armed with nothing but your wit and a pocketwatch, you traversed throughout the multiverse.

You wished that you would've added 'immortality' to Prismo's wish.

The wind was picking up, whipping your hair around. You looked into the sky, seeing the clouds grow dark, and snow beginning to sprinkle. It was almost astounding how quickly the weather could change.

A few stray snowflakes blew straight into your mouth as you breathed in, causing you to cough. The wind whipped through you, and the snow fell into your eyes. The sky was as dark as ever, and the snow clumping to your feet made it hard to walk.

You wish you thought of bringing a jacket.

It didn't even occur to you to leave this universe, you were too cold to think. Stumbling around in this white wasteland, you wondered if there were any towns nearby.

Just as you thought of that, you saw a light in the distance. Struggling to climb up an embarrassingly small hill, you saw a glowing little town next to a palace probably around a quarter mile away. It looked to be made of ice, but that might just be you blurred vision.

You staggered through the snow, just trying to make it to the town.

You stop in place when you realize you can't feel a single thing in your body. Breathing in deep through your nose and cringing at the chilled air, you decided to use up the last of your energy to get to that little town as quickly as possible.

Bringing your arms up and crossing them, you tried to keep as much warmth to your chest as possible. After getting within about 100 paces to the town, you were ready to collapse. You heard light and seasonal music playing from the town, and hummed along deliriously.

People were ice skating on a small lake near you, and you tried to call for help.

But you couldn't get out more than a whisper.

Collapsing into the snow, your vision blurred and darkened. Just as you were about to lose consciousness, you heard a voice.

"Ice scouts! Come help this-"

Then you were out.

The next thing you knew, you were inside some glittering blue room. Was this place made of ice? Impossible, you were warm. Looking down, you saw that you were covered in blankets. Fluffy, Warm, blankets... You almost wanted to fall back asleep...

You sat up quickly, realizing you didn't know where you were. You then heard a soft voice from your bedside.

"Oh, you're awake. How are you feeling?"

You looked to your side, seeing a man sitting in a chair, reading some book. You couldn't see its title. The man had light blue skin, white hair, a long nose, and sparkling eyes.

You noticed he was dressed quite elegantly, and a crown sat atop his head.

"Who are you?"

He blinked for a moment, and laughed softly while slapping his forehead. He stood up, brushing himself off.

"Forgive me for not introducing myself. My name is the Winter King. You'd passed out in the snow when my ice scouts and I were not but twenty feet away from you!"

You introduced yourself,and tried to remember what exactly happened, but couldn't. You just had to take the Winter King's word for it.

Wait..

Winter King.

You quickly apologized for being so nonchalant with royalty, but Winter King stopped you.

"Oh, no need for such formalities. You are a guest. It's my duty to serve you. If it would make you feel better, you may just call me Winter."

He sat down again, looking at you. Not in a creepy way, just... curious.

You nodded, taking a deep breath. The air was cold, but not nearly as dreadful as the blizzard outside. You then realized something strange. You asked Winter why it hadn't been pouring snow in the town. He laughs softly, smiling gently at your question.

Man, he was pretty.

"Oh, my dear, I have control over this domain. From every ice sculpture to every snowflake. While sometimes I cannot control the weather, I can however, keep it from affecting my town."

From your basic understanding of magic logic, this seemed plausible enough. You went to stand up, but suddenly felt very fatigued, your legs wavering. Winter stood up from his seat, ready to catch you if need be.

You cleared your throat, sitting down. Only then did you realize how much your throat hurt. You coughed for a moment, trying to get this scratchy feeling out. Winter noticed what you were doing, then gently clapped his hands. A person- looking to be made out of ice- skated into the room, holding a tray with a glass of water on it.

You thanked the little ice servant, and thanked Winter.

Winter seemed a little perplexed that you thanked the servant, but carried on, as it wasn't anything to fuss about.

"I see you're sick. Sometimes I can forget that people aren't immune to the effects of my wondrous realm."

He seemed to be really proud of his little winter wonderland. You looked out a massive window to see the town below.

The town.

You were in the castle.

Huh.

"However, I am more than willing to aid you throughout your journey to regain your health!"

This man cannot be real. He's so incredibly kind! You've never really met any royalty, but you guessed that Winter was pretty much the nicest king in history.

You sneezed into your elbow, then cleared your throat once again.

"Rest for now, my dear. Though, if you need anything, don't be afraid to ask. I am at your beck and call."

Winter bowed, then gracefully slid out of the room. You forgot the floor was made of ice. Snuggling into the plush pillows and multiple blankets, you closed your eyes,

and drifted off.
