The World Health Organization warned that Gaza hospitals are at a breaking point.

That was October 12.

UNICEF warned that incubators were hours away from being shut down due to lack of fuel in Gaza:

That was October 22.

Now, let's look at Shifa Hospital in Gaza City last night, where Hamas held a rally, complete with huge video screen:

Notice all the lights, inside and outside the hospital.

Looks like they had plenty of fuel there, three weeks after supplies were supposed to run dry. It's a miracle!

UNICEF and WHO are useful idiots, willing to believe the lies that are told by Hamas and their partners.

And notice that none of the attendees seem at all concerned to go out in the open, publicly, when they accuse Israel of "genocide." If they really thought that Israel was hellbent on murdering all Gazans, why would they go out in the open?

They are all voluntary human shields for Hamas, whose headquarters is directly underneath them.

Notice also that all the attendees are young men of military age.

WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION DELIVERS AID TO AL-SHIFA HOSPITAL, CALLS EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT A "BLOODBATH"

The World Health Organization (WHO) organized a joint mission with the United Nations (UN) to deliver medical supplies and aid to al-Shifa Hospital complex, located in Rimal, a neighborhood in the north of Gaza City.

The WHO describes al-Shifa Hospital as "currently minimally functional" and "needs to resume at least basic operations" in order to continue serving the "thousands in need of life saving healthcare," according to a Press release.

The WHO mission delivered medicines, surgical supplies, orthopedic surgery equipment, anesthesia materials and drugs to al-Shifa Hospital.

Al-Shifa Hospital had been Gaza's largest hospital complex, however, since an Occupation raid on the complex launched on November 15th and multiple strikes by Occupation war planes, al-Shifa now houses only a handful of doctors, a few nurses, and approximately 70 volunteers.

WHO staff described the hospital complex as suffering from "unbelievably challenging circumstances" and called it a "hospital in need of resuscitation."

Operating rooms and other major services remain non-functional due to a lack of fuel, oxygen, specialized medical staff and supplies.

The hospital is currently only capable of providing basic trauma stabilization, but has no blood for transfusion and is nearly empty of staff to care for the constant flow of patients. Dialysis is being provided to approximately 30 patients a day, with the dialysis machines operating 24/7.

The WHO team described the Emergency Department of al-Shifa as a "bloodbath", with hundreds of injured Palestinians inside, and new patients arriving every minute.

Patients with trauma injuries are being sutured on the floor, with only limited, if any, pain management.

WHO staff says the Emergency Department at al-Shifa is so full, that extra care must be taken not to step on the patients lying on the floor. More critical patients are being transferred to al-Ahli Arab Hospital for surgeries, a local hospital located in the Zeitoun neighborhood of Gaza City.

The WHO points out that tens of thousands of displaced Palestinians are using the hospital building and grounds for shelter, arguing a more prolonged, multi-pronged approach is needed to provide them with food, water and shelter.

Al-Shifa Hospital continues to experience a severe shortage of food and safe, potable water for health worker, patients, and displaced Palestinians.

"This reflects grave and growing concerns around persistent hunger across the Gaza Strip, and the consequences of malnutrition on people’s health and susceptibility to infectious diseases," the WHO said.

Currently, al-Ahli Arab Hospital remains the only hospital partially functional hospital in north Gaza, along with three minimally functional hospitals- al-Shifa, Al Awda and the Al Sahaba Medical Complex- down from the 24 that existed before Israel's genocide war on Palestinians in Gaza began on October 7th.

I have to say, after hearing so many people talk about the term "multiple personality disorder" like it's some archaic term that's been long since abandoned, I really am absolutely shocked to learn it was in use by the ICD up until 2019.

With all the criticism against anyone referencing MPD, you wouldn't think that this was the official name for the disorder under the International Classifications of Diseases by the World Health Organization as recently as 4 years ago.

Edit: It was actually 2015, so 8 years. Still, definitely not the ancient history I see people trying to portray it as.

The World Health Organization is convening a guideline development group (GDG) on gender medicine.

I rarely circulate or ask followers to sign petitions, but I’m making an exception because WHO’s actions are very troubling.

On December 18, WHO announced that it will be developing a guideline on “the health of trans and gender diverse people.” As the petition notes, there are three areas of concern here.

First, the composition of the GDG is heavily biased toward an “affirmative” approach that rejects safeguarding (“gatekeeping”) and considers any alternative to hormones and surgeries on demand as unethical “conversion therapy.”

Of the 21 panel members, three-fourths are either trans-identified, members of “affirmative” advocacy groups, or members of WPATH, an activist group that presents itself as a professional medical association (and recognizes child "eunuchs").

Some members have failed to properly disclose conflicts of interest, and WHO seems to have made no effort to balance COIs by inviting diverse perspectives.

COIs are unavoidable; evidence-based medicine requires that clinical practice guideline developers balance COIs.

For example, one of the panel members is Canadian law professor and transgender activist Florence Ashley (pronouns “they/them/that bitch”). Ashley has argued against any form of safeguarding for adults and adolescents.

Ashley: the goal of medicine should be to help individuals achieve “gender euphoria” through “creative transfiguration.” Doctors are to help adults and “older teenagers” turn their bodies into “gendered art piec[es]” with hormones and surgeries.

Second, WHO’s public consultation period is suspiciously short and poorly-timed. Typically, public consultation periods last months, if not years. This is especially true, one would think, with novel medical interventions that carry significant risks and involve minors.

WHO announced a mere 3-week public consultation period., No less suspicious, that period falls on Christmas, New Year, and the first week of January, a period when most people are on vacation or away from their desk. This is not a sincere effort to elicit public input.

Third, the guideline development process is rushed. The proposed date for the GDG to convene in Switzerland is February 21—a mere two months after WHO announced the initiative.

In comparison, the NHS/Cass Review process for reviewing evidence and developing new recommendations has been going on for over three years.

In conclusion, it’s hard not to suspect that WHO is rigging the process to produce a desired and predetermined result.

WHO may not undermine reform efforts in countries with strong health bureaucracies that are determined to conduct systematic reviews and rely on EBM principles, but it will likely shape the realities of gender medicine where debates are just starting to emerge (e.g., the US)

If you are concerned about WHO’s motives or process, please sign and circulate the petition. Although all signatures are welcome, those of medical and mental health professionals and of researchers are especially needed.

We, the undersigned, strongly object to the World Health Organization's (WHO) biased panel tasked with creating new transgender health guidelines. Of the 21 panel members, over three-fourths are transgender activists. The few physicians either specialize in HIV or are “gender doctors.” There is currently a worldwide explosion of teenagers wishing to undergo a sex change; WHO’s stated plan to promote hormones and “legal recognition of self-identified gender” will harm innumerable gender-dysphoric youth, gays, lesbians and other women. WHO must cancel this group's first planned meeting in February and go back to the drawing board.
