Something something hide and seek on roshar evolved to be a game about hiding spren.
Like maybe all the hiders are supposed to quietly murmur a song and find a spot that not only hides them but also their musicspren. Whoever finishes their song without being found is a winner.

Knowing where Raffi and Picard were during the Romulan evacuation and where Seven and Janeway were feeling and seeing the effects of the Romulan evacuation on Federation protectorate worlds, and federation adjacent worlds that benefited from Federation aid. But the aid had stopped because all resources were moved to help Romulans evacuation and resettlement.
Seven saw directly what happened because the Federation and Starfleet’s focus moved.
It would be interesting if Raffi and Seven talk about that, especially when, in the end, it was fruitless since the Zhat Vash Synth attack on Mars stopped any effort.
Picard gave-up. I don’t fault Picard because I get the impulse. The childish one where you throw a temper tantrum because you tried so hard man. Still, it was a tantrum that lasted decades. And it turned out, he occasionally still goes to LA Ten Forward to sometimes relive the glory days.
He could still have organized something, he had a lot of clout.
On the other end, we have Janeway, who we see from Firewall was already exasperated at Starfleet’s boneheaded paranoia. But she still stayed because she’s far too stubborn to quit.
My headcanon is that Janeway and some former ex-Maquis (mostly Voyager crew) was the reason for the Fenris Ranger longevity despite losing a lot of structure and financing over the years.
(It also helps that unlike the Maquis, the Rangers were not completely butting heads against Starfleet and Federation policies).
Anyway, it would be interesting for Seven and Raffi to discuss their experiences during that time period with each other.
Even Raffi went into self-exile but that was because no one was listening to her. I doubt any of Janeway’s humorless aides would even let Raffi near Janeway.
How things could have changed if Raffi just approached Janeway at an angle— via former Voyager crews. I’m sure they all have a direct line to Janeway.
Also, I feel Raffi would feel right at home with the Voyager crew if/when she’s invited to a reunion.

i'm begging transformers writers to do something interesting with the fact that cybertronians are able to have altmodes that are just objects....
give me cybertronians whose altmodes are literally disability aids. like imagine the level of trust between two individuals; one who is disabled, maybe they their legs don't work or maybe their back struts have decayed to the point that they cannot be replace and having a cybertronian with a wheelchair or cane altmode assigned to them so that they can live a normal life without being shoved away to the fringes of society to rot. imagine having your conjunx endura or amica endure being the one to help you walk around or get to the store to buy groceries for the two of you, how much you trust them to keep you upright while they in turn trust you not to treat them like an object.
imagine cybertronians who can turn into listening devices or recorders to sit in on lectures or classrooms so that their friend with audial problems can listen back and get their notes in one time. imagine a cybertronian whose optics started to malfunction or whose just didn't work at all upon first coming into existance and having a friend or partner who can turn into a mobility cane to help them traverse the world. give me cybertronians who have really awful chronic joint pain because they've been alive so long that their parts can no longer be replaced who spend their time being taken care of because the world they live in deemed them existing enough to deserve being taken care of.
imagine cybertronians who've domesticated species of turbofoxes or other native wildlife and train them to be service animals, or herding animals, or hell just fucking pets.
imagine a version of prewar cybertron that integrated its disabled or otherwise unable to work citizens into their loving fold and simply accepted them for who they are.
i'm sick and tired of seeing the headcanons that cybertronians cannot be physically disabled or that the disabled don't exist on their planet because they're machines and can therefore just be fixed. that's boring, it's stupid and it's highly uncreative. transformers is a beautiful piece of media that should be able to incorporate as many people into it's worldbuilding as it can. i. want. more. disabled. cybertronians.
in fact i want more prewar worldbuilding in general. we know painfully little about what cybertron was like before the war and even my babygirl idw 2005 covers it to such a little extent that i'm going to spend the rest of this post complaining about it.
i want more cybertronians with hobbies not related to their altmodes. give me more examples of whirl's clockmaking or cyclonus' singing or swerve's bartending. i want cybertronians whose altmodes are science based spending their weekends hiking up in the mountains, simply taking in the beauty of their planets. i want cybertronians with racing altmodes sitting down and doing yoga in the part because they just need time to slow down. i want cybertronians with radio or communications altmodes/jobs who have hobbies like baking or reading or painting. the reason why so many of these characters feel so dry to me (i'm looking at you transformers prime) is because none of them have things to do outside of the war, not a single goddamn one.
i wanna know more about prewar culture too. i want to know all of the cities of cybertron and how their regional dialects formed. i want to know all the grammatical differences between conjugating a verb in kaonian and icaonian. or the way that northern area of tarn has a distinct accent from the southern. i want vosian accents to be described as elegent or rugged or cruel or how the way they form their glyphs has fundimentally changed the way their vocalizers produce sounds. give me radio stations that broadcast across cybertron with all the latest hits from popular singers. give me movies that get made in helex and then translated into iaconian and then further adapted for vosians.
i want a whole book full of the different ways to make things like energon candies or how to reduce different metals down to be consumed. give me a cybertronian, that before the war, was a cook and how they tried desperately to write down all the recipes in their brain module less that one recipe for sweet honey engex that their deceased conjunx taught them how to make be lost to the waves of forgotten history. give me a frantic archivist scrambling through the ruins of a kaonian library because they know its the only thing left of their family's once rich culture. give me a cybertronian whose job it is to help develop new structures, to design and instruct construction bots on where and when to build homes or libraries or restaurants.
i want a damn lore bible that goes into excruciating depths on how cybertron created and designed their cites, their roads, and their whole lives. i want that thing filled with the ways that families can be formed and how siblings and friends and conjunxes and amica come into existence and how all the cities of cybertron have slightly varied rituals for how those bonds are formed.
i'm so tired of the focus getting put on the war. i want to know the ways that this culture formed, how it grew, how it developed into the breeding ground for the unrest that led to the war. i don't care about megatron and optimus, i care about the cybertronians who came before them, who paved the streets that they walked on, who first spoke the languages that roll off their glossa and get inscribed onto their datapads. give a comic series or animated show that simply shows the day to day lives of various cybertronians before the planet went to hell. and if the writers are so damned insistant on retelling the same damn story again and again than fucking give me characters reminiscing or mourning the fall of their homes, their cultures, friends, family, lovers who all died. give me characters who tell their humans friends all about the sports they used to play, the movies or plays they used to attend, the boring homework they got assigned by their teacher or the bakery just down the street from their houses.
give me a cybertron that's bustling with life and culture. give a cybertron that feels alive

Thinking of the absolute chaos that would befall Prythian if suddenly the High Lord power stopped and full seasons and regionally appropriate weather patterns took hold.
Can you imagine the lords and ladies in Autumn clutching their woolen overcoats and non-breathable layers upon layers of frilly fabrics despite the sudden jolt into summer heat and humidity?
But even more so, the gardeners in each Court desperately rushing to save the plants that are no longer in an ideal greenhouse for their needs?
The sudden flooding of lower regions in Dawn and Winter when the snow melt begins?
Chaos. Destruction. Mass displacements. The need for leadership and infrastructure outside of magic is now urgent.

More Time Magic Thoughts
Time is advanced and hard to control magic that common magic users don't mess with beyond very basic spells occasionally or sometimes not at all. It gives the user the ability to manipulate time within a certain space and, because of its complicated nature, it's not taught as commonly as other magics so people know very little about them.
There are occasionally incidents where someone loses control of a spell and creates a distorted time bubble that fractures the things inside it, the more broken they look, the worst chance they have of recovering afterward. Other consequences include aging or de-aging someone either as a whole or in certain parts of their body, freezing someone in time, or getting someone trapped in a time loop.
These situations have caused the public to fear Time magic and those that specialize in it as ticking time bombs, which contributes to making the magic even less understood while continuing to cause those same situations.
It takes concentration to do time magic, loss of focus could cause even the smallest of spells to spiral out of control.
Time Necromancy - A flawed form or resurrection. Time can only move forward, back, or stop. So unlike the regular widely used resurrection spell, reviving someone with Time would be like making them relive those moments before death.
Time Flys - Imagine regular house flies but even more annoying because they whizz all over the place at even more impressive speeds. They cause quite a bit of destruction, they no longer need to maneuver around objects to get to where they want to go. They just go through them. Good luck trying to kill them.
Causally used spells centered around using magic to keep things looking a certain way like a house with trees that are forever in fall or keeping an object in new condition. A spell to stop you and another person to have a private conversation no one else can hear. Stop an object from moving for a short period of time to catch it before it has a chance to break. Flash stepping from place to place. Moving objects while time is frozen forces them into new positions, different directions, etc. Leaving looping after images of yourself around for pranks.

Do you think Braille was ever invented in the Avatar universe? Or, if it was, it was done in a way related to bending? Like earth bending immediately leads to forming Braille from the stone, but what about temperature difference for fire benders? Air pressure or water pressure? It interests me, along with the possible scale of standard literacy in the various nations.
Ooo that's an intriguing idea! I'm no expert on Braille but I assume it would require some kind of standardized printing. I think the other bending styles would be too difficult to maintain, so ice and stone would be the only ones that make sense to me. Someone with really refined bending abilities could probably imprint tablets with the patterns. Although another cool option for air and fire might be tablets with holes all the way through, and the bender could draw or push air through them to sense the patterns. That might only work for benders, though, whereas raised bumps could be used by anyone. (I'm not sure if fingers can detect tiny holes as easily as they can tiny bumps.) Once printing presses (and the ability to create the raised bumps on paper/parchment) became a thing, I imagine it would be accessible to everyone with the right technology! Hard to say who would invent it first, though, or whether multiple nations would convergently create similar methods!

Angels are more or less divine manifestations of certain principles - the antagonists of season 2 are manifestations of justice/order/control, which is exactly what you might expect from an entity which is solely motivated by a principle without the moral complexity of humanity
I hope we'll get to see some other planes represented just to get an idea how the angels manifest different principles

On Worldbuilding
A lot of worldbuilding (and tbh politics) can be boiled down to realizing that Otto Von Bismarck and Dan Quayle existed in the same continuity. The question then becomes what ratio of Bismarcks to Quayles do you think get into power, and how dickish they are when they get power.

i do unironically think the best artists of our generation are posting to get 20 notes and 3 reblogs btw. that fanfic with like 45 kudos is some of the best stuff ever written. those OCs you carry around have some of the richest backstories and worldbuilding someone has ever seen. please do not think that reaching only a few people when you post means your art isn't worth celebrating.

Reading through Jeremiah currently, and found 33:20/25 interesting in their mentions of the Lord having a covenant with the Day and Night. I'm assuming this is largely poetic language to explain the locked-in rhythm of day and night as we know it, but considering that being a thing in the Santa Juliana FIles universe.
I already have the Sun as an Eldritch being, so, maybe the eldritch beings (official title still pending lol) were able to form a covenant of sorts with God after the Fall. So the ones still doing their appointed jobs and the evil ones could be loosely categorized as those who made a covenant and those who refused to. For example, I was already planning on the water eldritch being to be one of those who was on the "good" side (as much as the eldritch beings are on any understandable side from a human standpoint), which would track with the verses about the Lord having set a boundary over the waters, etc.
Also contemplating the Sun and the Moon to be related entities. Not exactly twins, not exactly the same, kind of more "on entity that got split in two," but I haven't quite figured it out yet.

can I confess something really inconsequential 🫣 I don’t really like when people draw the dungeon meshi half-foots with tails….
WHICH LIKE if people like it that’s fine!! I’m not gonna try to pretend like people are wrong for it or that it’s problematic or smth. I know it’s a common thing to depict halflings/hobbits from other media with tails, and I like when people do that for those!
it’s mostly cause of that daydream hour comic where Kabru tells Hien that “human” is one species and all the races have the same number of bones, and the reason orcs and kobolds are instead considered demi-human is because they have a different number of bones.
Tumblr media
so whenever I see it all I can think is “AUGHHHH BUT THE CULTURAL AND POLITICAL IMPLICATIONS!!!” and then I remember this is all make believe and I go outside

What if I told you that RoobrickMarine went and wrote an entire novella starring my 16th century dog couple? It's very canon-adjacent, well researched and thoughtfully put together, has inspired me a ton during these past months and it's now publicly available at AO3. I highly recommend it.

I like to imagine if there's Time Magic, there should be a way to heal with it somehow. I think magic should be versatile like that, letting people get creative enough that basically anything is possible given the chance to experiment with it. But healing with Time might not be recommend.
The caster would reverse the wounded area back to when it was healthy, but it will revert when the spell eventually ends. A scenario I can think of, would be a final stand against an enemy. Reversing any wounds obtained before and during the fight until victory is achieved. The horrible side effects obviously being that it's all gonna catch up in the end. And you might not survive all the damage your body has endured hitting you all at once.
Just as all healing can be overused to eventually cause harm, I'm certain a time healer could accelerate the wounds deterioration to the point of rotting. Or even over heal the body so that it starts aging rapidly until it reaches the natural conclusion. There's so much control to be had when healing with Time.
