Let's talk about DJ Subatomic Supernova...

Ah yes one of the most eccentric, funniest, and coolest designed bosses. DJSS is the very first boss you fight and acts as a sort of test after the lights up audition tutorial. He is very interesting and his personality is through the roof, so let's get started shall we?

"What have you done today? Simpletons!"

DJSS has an ego, you could say it's planet sized (ba-dum tss). Anyways, even though he has an ego he is one of the most loved characters in NSR. I can see why, he has a huge personality and a really cool theme going on with it being based on space.

Unlike other NSR artists we do know he had two jobs before becoming an artist, a university professor and an astrophysicist, which explains his vast knowledge of space. He knows a lot about space and uses his knowledge in really funny ways. One example is this quote: "You remind me of......Pluto! Once thought to be a planet of the solar system but no longer is."

I love love love his personality and the fact that his head is basically a black hole. I always thought that his head breaking symbolized his ego getting shattered. Seeing that he thinks even if NSR is defeated, his music will last after the fall of NSR.

I could go on and on but I'm gonna save it for later.

His boss fight is very fun.

You start out with him at his turn table and you hitting disco balls to damage him. This is very interesting as you move around him, with DJSS being in the center. He's the center of the solar system in his fight.

Second phase he gets bigger and now it looks like you are in a solar system as the disco balls are now planets. He has more attacks, such as being able to throw comets at you and still being able to move the planets like he's turning a record. His head becomes more shattered as the fight goes on.

Third phase he makes himself even larger and not he has noodle arms. Not only does he still have his planets and comets but now he also has a laser. While this phase isn't harder you do have to worry about a lot of things at once.

Once you get through those three phases you then have to reach him. His head will then crack fully and a black hole will appear, you have to run to DJSS while dodging music notes along the way. This is fairly easy to get through as you have enough time to dodge the music notes.

I feel his battle, or phases rather, correlate with his ego/personality. If you ever pay close attention to his head it starts to slowly crack, like his ego is gradually crumbling. He gradually grows in size to assert he is in control of what's around him, like someone with some huge ego.

His music genre is Disco Stellarum House, for those who don't know what that is, it's a genre of edm but the inspiration could come from disco house. Disco house is an edm genre that mixes the funky tunes of disco with the electronic sounds of house music. You can clearly hear this in his theme. His theme is an absolute bop when it comes on, you can't help but to dance to it.

He is also self-centered with him depicting himself as the center of the universe, but I went over that earlier. I wanna talk about the record cover when B2J defeats him.

They are literally using his head like a basketball. They are dunking his head in a basketball hoop. THAT'S HILARIOUS AND SO FUNNY, just imagine you've been defeated by these "plutonians" and they're using your head as a basket all. Pure, funny, and hilarious to think about.

Dj Subatomic Supernova is a very fun character and has a lot of appeal to him. This may be why people love him so much.

So let me ask you all a question.

Today's headcanon is that if you give Sora sugarfree or diet anything he would sooner fucking starve than ever eat a bite of it

Thinking of him always hating the taste of diet soda and insisting it makes his head hurt and being told by everyone that it's "not that bad, you're just being dramatic" until one day he learns that aspartame (commonly put in many sugarfree foods/drinks) has been known to cause headaches in people who consume it, and just going "See? Let's talk about Yinu's boss fight...

Yinu is the third NSR artist we face in No Straight Roads, alongside her mother who I'll refer to as Mama. Yinu is my 3rd favorite NSR artist not only for her character but the fact she plays neoclassical music! There's a really interesting connection I want to make later but without further ado let's talk about Yinu.

"I'll show you why they call me the Golden Maestro of Vinyl City!"

Yinu's battle goes like most of the others......except you don't fight her...you fight her mother. Mama will appear after you break the gate and will hold Yinu out of harms way, shielding her when you get rid of all the strings. Mama functions as the main obstacle you have to get through to get to Yinu. She will keep Yinu away from you for the entire battle, focused on mainly keeping Yinu performing.

She starts out as simply being behind the curtain, then in the second phase she grows and lifts up the stage into the air, and finally she uses herself as a sort of cage. You defeat her but it isn't over you're interrupted by Yinu who is angry at EVERYONE and furiously plays her piano.

You finally reach her and we hear something audibly break. The cutscene plays and we see everyone falling. No one is hurt in the fall but.......

Mayday and Zuke broke Yinu's piano.

Yinu plays neoclassical music which consists of piano, strings, and wind instruments. I absolutely love Yinu's theme not only because I love classical music myself but because it's so melodic and really evokes emotion. The rock version, while not my favorite, is also really good at using guitars and drums to replace the strings and winds.

One element I love is that the furious piano playing towards the end of the song stays in the rock version as well. It's such a nice touch to add to keep in the same in every version of Yinu's music. When I hear hear theme music I can imagine her enjoying herself, playing her piano for her fans but also for herself and her mother. I hear passion when listening to Yinu's theme which says a lot than having to express it with more words.

The next time you listen to her theme I want you to really listen and see what your mind comes up with when listening to it.

B2J's overthrowing Yinu's concert reminded me of the rise of popularity for rock in the 1950's and it subsequently becoming mainstream in the 20th century.

With popular music such as rock, jazz, and the blues becoming so popular classical music was forgotten about and had to find its own niche radio stations. Even today any type of classical music is basically forgotten or isn't looked as fondly upon as pop or rock music.

When B2J destroyed Yinu's piano this thought solidified itself as them getting rid of classical music, quite literally drowning Yinu out until you're trying to reach her. May and Zuke got rid of Yinu's neoclassical music in her district.

They put down a music genre just so rock can become popular again.

Conclusion is Yinu is an S-tier boss fight and she has so much untapped story that I didn't go over.

“Now, if you’ll excuse me I need to see that Braedon is . . . “ Julienna began, standing up from her spot at the table.

“Alicent will see to that,” Otto announced. “Won’t you? Perhaps take him out for a bit of fresh air.”

Alicent, who was mid bite, looked between her father and her sister.  She opened her mouth as if to say something, but then thought better of it.  As the dutiful daughter, Alicent nodded her head.  She wiped her hands on her napkin before standing up and reaching over for young Braedon.

“What’s my name?” Alicent cheerfully asked her nephew.

“Al-a-fint!” Braedon shouted with a toothy grin. “Al-a-fint! Al-a-fint! Al-a-fint!”

Alicent sighed as she placed Braedon on the ground and took hold of his hand. “Perhaps we should practice more.  Now, repeat after me . . . “

The two descended the stairs and their chatter grew fainter.  Julienna’s heart raced as her father motioned for her to be seated once more.  Also the dutiful daughter, Julienna sat down, but refused to meet her father’s gaze.

“Alicent will make an excellent mother someday,” Otto mused.

Julienna knew she should have bitten her tongue, but she coudln’t.  With her mother passed-on, it was her duty to also look out for her sister. “Not anytime soon, I hope,” Julienna retorted.

Otto’s brow furrowed. “Surely you’re not wanting to deny your sister a secure future.”

“Of course not, Father. But Alicent is young yet. Let her enjoy her youth while she can.  It’s what Mother would have wanted.”

He sighed. 

Julienna knew the exact card to play against him - her mother.  But would it be enough to save Alicent from her fate so soon? She said a quick silent prayer to the gods that it would.

Inverted Fate by Dorked (This was originally a sprite comic, but the previous arc was animated. Plus, the next, final arc seems like it's also going to be an animated video. Thus, I'm counting it as a show rather than a comic at this point.)

Current obsession: I mean, do I even have to say it? The lore behind Undertale is just so fascinating. If you're looking for something that isn't Undertale-related, it would probably be FNF mods. Then again, I'm only really looking for Undertale-related mods.

Icarus Falling

I caught Icarus when he fell

Cradled him softly in my arms as he sobbed

I let the wax burn my hands

Drip drip dripping molten down my clothes,

I saw Icarus fly 

How could I ever have blamed him 

The warmth of the sun after years in the dark

I could never have resisted either,

I held Icarus as he died

Watched the sun dip low beyond the horizon

While I buried him in the cold dark dirt

I hope wherever he is

He can hold Apollo’s hand without pain

I hope he can feel the sun on his face.

HI HI I LOVE U. okay so i'll be talking abt my Robots ocs !! (theyre not all robots, thats just the name i use for the universe(?) theyre in !!)

Ok so the first ones i made was ROS-4 (Rosa, 'pink' in portuguese) and 4-ZUL (Azul or Zul, 'blue' in portuguese)

Rosa(left) is a demigirl (she/it (lol)) robot !! Shes a type -4 robot which means the bigger type, usually used for strengh needed activitities !!!! Shes like 2 meters tall or smthing.

Zul (right)is agender-boy (he/she) and a type 4 robot, which are the tinyest types !! Usually made to be babysitters or preschool teachers (Zul's case) because the shorter they are (zuls 1,60 something meters) the safer kids feel with them etc etc

Theyre romantically dating !!!!

ok so lets talk abt the two important humans from the Robots

Lara(left) (she/they) is a robot programmer and mechanic !!!! She has a store where she fixes robots and sells parts etc !! Rosa works at her store sometimes helping her !! Her names Lara cus laras moms favorite fruit were oranges (which in portuguese are called LARAnjas) (she didnt tell lara the reason) funnily enough orange (also laranja in portuguese) is laras favorite color lol

Morte (means 'Death' in portuguese) or Mor is a trans woman (she/her) human !! She has a preschool (dont know the word for that in eng sorry) and Zul works for her there !!!!

She and Lara are dating <33

Also Mor Lara and zul are in a qpp

theres also others like Tuli (they/it), Dália(no pronouns/use dálias name), perse/echo (he/they/it/she) robots and Guy (he/they) and China (she/he) humans ! Also paloma (they/she) human

Also i could talk abt how rosa and zul met and how perse and tuli met (theyre dating) or how abt their and dálias gender or abt guys sexuallity or his and chinas ralationship or chinas gender etc
