Neville always did his best too keep his partner in a happy mood but obviously sometimes things such as down or bad things could not be avoided. He knew when they appeared at his dorm with that empty look in their eyes and a heavy pout on their face that they were having one of their down days and that was more than okay! Neville had been having a particularly amazing week and nothing would make that even better than making his s/o feel as best as he could. 

Neville had a lot of extra things in his room considering on weekends he didn’t like to leave his dorm much. Being an introvert in a school as big as Hogwarts meant there were rarely any spaces in which you could be alone by yourself but rooms were the one place that allowed that. 

With the help of (Y/n), he had learned about a few wonders of muggle technology one being things such as phones and muggle music artists. He fumbled around with his cellphone, pulling up a playlist on Spotify. (Y/n) smiled weakly at the familiar sound of the calm playlist, laying their head on Neville’s shoulder as he picked them up placing them on the bed. The shorter one of the two pouted at the loss of contact which was quickly replaced as Neville placed a blanket around their shoulders as he placed a soft kiss on their forehead.

“How you feeling, petal?” Neville questioned, pouring a blend of lavender and chamomille tea into their cups from his enchanted teapot. He stirred in a few lumps of sugar in each, before turning his head slightly. (Y/n) simply shrugged, biting the inside of their cheek. Neville offered them a compassionate smile before bringing the cup over to them. “That’s okay! You don’t have to speak, you know I do more than enough for the both of us. How bout I tell you about my day?” he asked before settling on the bed next to his lover. (Y/n) nodded, looking over at the brunette expectantly. Neville went to speak but was interrupted by the grumbling of the (h/c) haired person’s stomach. He chuckled slightly before waving his wand, an array of snack cakes flying from the drawer across the room as they settled on the silver platter in front of them. (Y/n) reached for a strawberry one humming in content as they looked up at their lover to continue. “Right as I was saying..”

Neville continued rambling about his day which quickly turned into a retelling of his week as each piece of his day fit with the others like a puzzle piece. He used his hands when speaking, making gestures to represent things and even changing his voice to match whom ever he was speaking of at the moment. (Y/n) was bursting at the seams by the time Neville was done, nuzzling into his side more. They brought their (e/c) eyes to meet his hazel ones in a look of appreciation.

“You’re welcome love! No need to thank me. Oh! That reminds me, I found a documentary on what’s it called? Youpage? No, no that’s not it. Right! Youtube on that thing you were telling me about the other day. Do you wanna watch it?” he asked, flushing a bit at his blunder. (Y/n) nodded frantically before sighing in content. Even if the day hadn’t started off as a good one, Neville was certainly making it into one that was for sure.

“L-love you, Nev.” they whispered softly, looking up at him with a soft smile. Neville felt his heart race as his cheeks flushed a bright red. He smiled down at his lover, capturing their lips in a soft kiss before pulling away.

“I love you too, darling.”
