This is the Soundtrack to the film Harold and Maude which consists of 2 new songs as well as versions of previously released Cat Steven's tunes. When I first started driving, there was a lil "revival" theater that would play films from the early 70s. Since they often only screened for a week, I'd go alone if friends couldn't come along. I saw some great films during this time, and one was Harold and Maude. . I had no expectations going in, and if you've seen it, you realize that might not be a good idea. lol I sat there in the dark mesmerized. What am I watching? 😉 It has since become a fav film of mine. Two great movie cuts

I don’t know if any of you are fans of the great movie, HAROLD AND MAUDE. Was just thinking about the cut from the daisy field to the cemetery and how great a movie moment that is, with Maude’s soft voice and the hauntingly beautiful @YusufCatStevens music rising with the crane shot, and the green and the white, and the historic moment it speaks to.

And most people know about the “match cut” in LAWRENCE OF ARABIA.

I first saw that movie on the big screen in the @ParamountAustin in the mid-1990s and gasped at the beauty of that cut.

The Harold & Maude cut is more subtle, but very powerful, nonetheless.

Don’t be a like a field of daisies, be a daisy.

If you’re looking for something to watch this weekend, either of these would be an excellent choice.
