The Great Wave Of Kanagawa - Katsushika Hokusai - Art Institute Of Chicago 2013 A selection from his published Thirty-Six Views of Mount Fuji.... This amazing print, also known as The Great Wave or The Wave; is an ukiyo-e woodblock print by Japanese artist Hokusai, published sometime between 1830 and 1833[1] in the late Edo period as the first print in Hokusai's series Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji. It is Hokusai's most famous work, and one of the best recognized works of Japanese art in the world. It depicts an enormous wave threatening boats off the coast of the prefecture of Kanagawa. While sometimes assumed to be a tsunami, the wave is, as the picture's title notes, more likely to be a large okinami ("wave of the open sea"). As in all the prints in the the series you can see Mt. Fuji in the background. *The series depicts Mount Fuji in differing seasons and weather conditions from a variety of different places and distances. It actually consists of 46 prints created between 1826 and 1833. I just had the pleasure of working with product development team at 221B Tactical and we really took advantage of being a "one stop shop" at WATERMRK STUDIOS! Utilizing our "in house" full length portrait studio, I was able to photograph models using and wearing the innovative products that 221B Tactical has created. To honor of all our Veterans and Active Duty this Memorial Day. I'm posting about is a amazing charity SHARK TOURNAMENT that will be going on in Point Pleasant (NJ), hosted by Warriors For Warriors. We just finished designing this poster and are excited to see them going up around town.

The Palace at 4 A.M - Alberto Giacometti - MOMA According to Giacometti, The Palace at 4 A.M. is a metaphor about love relations, stemming from the memory of an affair that had lasted about six months and ended about a year before he created this work. Throughout that time, he claims, they did not see the day-light, days and nights bore the same color, as though it was all taking place early in the morning. “During those nights”, he stated, “we used to build a fantastic palace... a highly fragile palace made of matchsticks”.
