look guys i actually did some spirit designs
[ID: the Hargreeves' spirits in the Paranatural au - or at least, the five of them that are kids in this au.
Luther's is an ape that looks like his body from the comics. Diego's is a creature that looks a bit like a small porcupine. Allison's is a large snake with its mouth duct taped shut. Klaus' is a blue raccoon with three eyes and a pink tail, and Viktor's is based off of the White Violin from the comics, except its head transforms into reaching arms. End ID.]
sorry, the ID got REALLY long this time. that's a summary for anyone scrolling, theres a more detailed one under the cut!
[ID: Luther's spirit is labelled First Simian In Space: THE MARTIAN APE. He looks like the ape that supplied Luther's body in the comics, drawn in the paranatural style; blue, with one eye. He is wearing an astronaut helmet and sitting in a coin operated rocket ship that is much too small for it. He has transformed the world around him into a scifi martian landscape; cardboard standups with doors and lockers scribbled on them are the only indication of the real world. Luther is sprawled on the ground staring in shock, while the Martian Ape says "Y'know, you should totally just kill your dad".
Diego's spirit is a very small creature that looks a bit like a porcupine.
Panel 1: Diego holds his spirit in his hands and says, "So, what's your name?". His spirit responds "I am called..."
Panel 2: A caption appears; Projectile Extraordinaire: KRAKEN. The image is in full color, focusing on Kraken, which glowers cutely and shows off her spines.
Panel 3: The same shot as panel one, except Diego now looks very skeptical. He says "..." and then "Why." Kraken responds "It sounded cool."
Allison's spirit is a giant green snake coiled around a tree branch, with a pattern down his back that looks like open mouths.
The first two images are centered on Allison, who is scowling in both. Someone unseen says "It can force people to do things, honey!" and "It's too dangerous to leave you alone with it." and finally, "So we fixed it."
The final image is of the spirit. He is captioned Muzzled Mind Controller: THE RUMOR. His mouth has been duct taped shut. He does not look pleased.
Klaus' spirit is a blue raccoon with dark purple legs and a fluffy striped pink tail. It also has three eyes.
Panel 1: The large colored closeup of Klaus' spirit. It is captioned Mystical Conartist: THE SEANCE.
Panel 2: Klaus asks it "With a name like that, what's your power?" The Seance, its nose just high enough to fit into frame, replies, "Oh, I can sense ghosts"
Panel 3: Klaus looks supremely unimpressed. In the background, a ghost says "Hi" to Allison and Luther, and they say "Oh, hey" back.
Panel 4: Klaus asks, "Seriously?"
Panel 5: The Seance, viewed from above, says "Hey, I can sense them even when they're not visible! Like behind walls and stuff!"
Panel 6: The Seance adds "Also I can float." It is demonstrating, floating about eye level with Klaus and emitting a cloud of cyan spectral energy as it does so. Klaus looks more pleased with this and says "Okay, that one's pretty good."
Viktor's spirit is a Wight, a spirit so warped by rage and pain that it has permanently been changed, its spectral energy has become white, and has gained massive, devastating power. It looks a lot like the design of the White Violin in the comics, but it manifests too many or too few arms from where its head should be.
There are three images of it. In the first, it is kneeling. It has manifested six arms in varying degrees of completeness, and all of them look sad.
In the second, the matter of its head has split into many small pieces that almost look like parts of mouths, save for two clawing hands. It screams, in the Wight spirit language from Paranatural, WHAT DID YOU DO TO ME.
In the third, the largest, its knees buckle as it stands and manifests one reaching hand. It is captioned Violent White: THE WHITE VIOLIN. End ID]

I feel like the 2 3 4 dynamic has this exact vibe
(also entirely unrelated but all their hairstyles are on point)

❝Aren't we a pair?❞
Luther: "So, Klaus is still Klaus, in case you were wondering."
Allison: "You know, after all these years, I find it strangely comforting."

Fic: Glass Shard
Fandom: The Strange Case of Starship Iris
Wordcount: 100
Summary: Sara carries a glass shard in her pocket.
(Or: Sana and the Rumor, early season 2).
Sana carries a glass shard in her pocket.
It's part of the Rumor, although she doesn't know which part. It could be from any of the times she pulled the ship back together with bare hands and ingenuity and stubbornness.
She doesn't want to give it up. It's the last piece she has.
But it's not in the Rumor's nature to be static.
So, Sana pulls it out, files the edges smooth. She's weaving a brightly-coloured hanging to decorate the mess; the glass glitters in its centre.
Sana might be running, but she can still bring their home with her.
---
(A/N: So, one of my friends gave me the prompt "glass shard" for the Small Fandoms Drabblethon, and initially I didn't have a clear idea for it. Then, it suddenly came to me that I could marry this with an idea I've had for ages about Sana and the Rumor - drawing on her speech about how she's never had a place where every single piece of her belongs, and the closest she has is a ship she'd built herself from scraps.
There is so much to explore with Sana and the loss of the Rumor, and this is just a tiny piece (a shard, if you will ;P) but it was good to dig into. I particularly like the idea of Sana working part of the Rumor into something else, because I think that's very fitting to her hands-on, creative and resourceful approach to things.)

I have a theory about the ranking in numbers of The Umbrella Academy
(Apologies for my grammar)
Some think that it is from who is the least powerful to the most. Obviously starting with Luther and ending with Viktor. But what if ranking is about which power is more dangerous or harder to control?
1. Luther: Having Super Strength isn't that hard to control unless his emotions affect him to the point of beating or squeezing someone to death (like he almost did to Viktor in S1)
2. Diego: he has trajectory manipulation, but especially of knives he throws so he is in control of the situation most of the time. Now in S2 we see him manipulating the bullets that are fired at him. Had he not been able to control his power in time , he could had hurt himself or someone else.
3. Allison: has mind manipulation, but she has to say "I heard a rumour..." followed by the command to control the person's mind, so she has a concious sense of control over her power unlike the others'.The problem is that the allure of keep using it sometimes is too big and she ends up abusing her power. Hurting others in the process and also taking away their free will. Allison's power could be more dangerous if the show adds reality manipulation like in the comics.
4. Klaus: Klaus can communicate with the dead. But I think the dangerous part of it, is the whole possession plot they added in S2. Now the ghosts can possess him. And in S1 Reginald told him (when they were in Heaven or in the Void?) that he has barely scratch the surface of his power. So what else can he do? Telekinesis as in the comics? If he could willingly become a ghost (since he cannot die) could he also possess others? Can he raise the dead? Or maybe take the life away from the living? If he doesn't have control over his powers as they grow and since they are intimate related to death, i can see it becoming dangerous to himself and others.
5. Five: Five's powers literally threw him into the apocalypse, when he traveled back he ended up trapped in a 13-year-old body and then scattered his siblings throughout the 1960s.
6. Ben: Having an Eldritch creature coming out of a portal in your stomachsounds very dangerous to me. And we don't know how he died. But what if the reason we don't see any injuries on him (in his ghost form, as klaus sees other ghosts in S1) is because he always has his jacket zipped up? What if the Horror tore him from the inside? His own power could have killed him.
7. Viktor: He caused the apocalypse twice. What more can I say?

Umbrella Academy: Power Switches
Luther: Space-Time Manipulation
Luther would to be good fighter and team player the ability to teleport around.
Diego: Eldritch Tentacles
Diego would to understand horror of not being able to control Ben’s monster.
Allison: Mediumship
Allison talk to Ray whenever want, but she would also have to deal with ghosts her haunting her.
Klaus: Superhuman Strength
Klaus probably be one of most useful members now and no one could just dismiss him so easily now.
Five: Trajectory Manipulation
Five is the best assassin in the time commission. We seen him use various weapons so I think use he could Diego’s powers easily.
Ben: Sound/Energy Manipulation
Ben would be the most powerful sibling but just like with the horror, he will not have control over the white violin powers because he’s emotionally messed up. This would make him work on himself more.
Viktor: Mental/Reality Manipulation
Viktor would use the power pretty ok. I imagine he use would it to help the people he cares about and keep the siblings from falling a part. Idk if he would abuse them but he knows what it’s like hurting people with dangerous powers.
