I'd like to take a moment to shoutout the SteinMarie fic that took the candles lesson that Soul and Maka have where they nearly ruin their soul wavelengths and then not only had Stein go through it with Marie during their student days but instead of fighting they end up kissing
Like you cooked so hard there, thank you for the meal, I have not stopped thinking about it, I might re-read the whole thing right now

Y'all the amount of emotion with which Thor says "Mjolnir" had my heart breaking, it was like a small boy who has lost his beloved toy was finally reunited with it and I'm pretty sure Taika Watiti is going to kill us all with this movie-

I’ve warned my publishers that if they later on so much as change a single comma in one of my books, they will never see another word from me. Never! Ever! When I am gone, if that happens, then I’ll wish mighty Thor knocks very hard on their heads with his Mjolnir. Or I will send along the ‘enormous crocodile’ to gobble them up.
- Roald Dahl
In a conversation in 1982 at Dahl’s home in Great Missenden, Buckinghamshire, with his great friend the artist Francis Bacon, Roald Dahl, the famous children books writer, was adamant about the censoring or editing of his beloved books.
In evoking Thor’s hammer, Dahl was referring to his Norwegian roots and to his earlier story of “the greediest croc”. Bacon for his part felt just as strongly about the censoring or editing of an artist’s works, telling him: “There must be no changes to an artist’s original work when he is dead for any reason whatsoever.” Crossing himself in mock jest, Dahl replied: “I just hope to God that will never happen to any of my writings as I am lying comfortably in my Viking grave.”
Dahl can rest easy as the current owners of the Dahl’s books reversed a decision to greatly gut so-called offending passages as approved by ‘sensitivity readers’ for anything offensive to re-edit. Puffin, the publishers, have now decided to publish two versions of Dahl’s works, one, a massively re-edited version that ticks the boxes of diversity, inclusivity and equality, and another untouched original version, as the author intended.

Aislynn's Jumble of Random Thinky Thoughts on Halo s2 ep4 "Reach"
SPOILERS, but of course
Cpt Admiral Keyes went out like a total badass. I really do hate to lose him but I'm glad he got a better send-off than he did in the game (Halo: Combat Evolved). Seeing him with a pipe was an awesome little callback to the game, IMO. (Though smoking is bad; don't smoke, kids! 👎😬😉)
The fact that The Powers That Be took Silver Team's Mjolnir with them as they ran like cowards evacuated but abandoned actual Silver Team is the most realistic bureaucratic part of the episode. 🙄
I suspected Louis wasn't going to survive but him losing Danilo and then choosing to make that stand immediately after was both heartbreaking but bittersweet: he couldn't live without his beloved and his sacrifice gave John and Riz a chance to escape but also ensured that he didn't have to live long without his beloved. 💔
My Halo vehicle fangirling was cranked up to 117% 😇 here, with me pausing the show to yell, "WRAITH, IT'S A WRAITH! I love hijacking those things!!!" and then "SCORPION! A SCORPION TANK! Aw, man, I do BUSINESS when I have a Scorpion!" *wistful, lovestruck sigh* 💖 Please imagine my dad's 🤔⁉️ face during all of that, lol! 😇
Tumblr media
John, my beloved, and Scorpion tank, my beloved... 😍🤷‍♀️😇😉
I was legit upset that Kai was gone the entire ep, not just 'cause I wanted to see her, of course, but because it seems an awful lot like she abandoned her team and that just doesn't seem like her at all. I know last ep she was very torn and upset about John and not really believing what he was saying, but also not wanting to narc him out, either. When she finds out what happened to Vannak, I think she'll blame herself for not being there and, honestly? I think she should. (Same as she should feel bad about not believing John, evidence to the contrary.) Not saying she could've prevented any of the bad stuff, of course, but she wasn't there when Silver Team desperately needed her and if they don't have her feel guilt over that, then that's really going to be OOC for her, IMO. 😔
And then of course, the "two" of the "one-two punch" from this ep... Vannak, nooooooooo! I was completely not expecting to lose him here but I really should have, considering we're straight up doing a version of Reach's game storyline and, as we all know, Noble Team didn't make it out of the game alive (other than Jun).
Tumblr media
And yet still... Vannak! Not when he's just learned to love animal documentaries and feeding the birds! The big guy had so much more living to do!!! 😭😭😭 I'm going to really miss him and I'm going to completely ignore his death in any fanfic I ever again write, I'm just saying. 🤷‍♀️😉
Are we feeling like Soren will be getting a place on Silver Team, at least temporarily?
Okay, so I was a little surprised but in a good way over how hard everything about Keyes hit Halsey. She was genuinely kinda tongue-tied at seeing him, then her absolutely screaming at his death and her sobbing... I wasn't expecting that sort of reaction. She really did love him and I wouldn't have thought that before this episode.
I feel vaguely like John's ex just kidnapped his current girlfriend, lol. Also, I keep staring at Makee, thinking, "Is her hair a different blonde? Is she dying her eyebrows or something?" more than anything else so I really need to get over that, lol! Annnnnd I could kinda ship her with her Arbiter but nobody should be surprised at that 'cause I can ship a character with a mop that has a wig and googly eyes on it if the chemistry feels right to me...
Tumblr media
I could also see not-Thel!Arbiter as being a suuuuper jealous boyfriend trying to prove he's better than Makee's ex... *shipper glasses, I has 'em at all times!* 😜😉
Since Makee didn't let her Arbiter (whose name is escaping me at the moment) go ahead and kill John, one wonders if it was because she does still have feelings for him or if she just needs him for some later nefarious purpose. And why does she need Cortana? I'm still wondering if we're going to get some sort of "evil" Cortana ala Halo 5 since her new look reminds me a lot more of her Halo 5 look.
Tumblr media
This is a still, not GIF, from Halo s2 Cortana's new look, so you don't wonder why it's not moving. 😉
Tumblr media
Halo 5 "evil" Cortana.
And you can see s1 Cortana in the GIF right above all of this.
Annnnd my favorite version of Cortana...
Tumblr media
Halo 4 Cortana, whom I imprinted on as my very first Cortana, so this is her definitive look to me, what can I say? 🤷‍♀️😉
And bringing things back to the episode once more, I also had a game fangirling moment when John yelled, "Frag out!" as he lobbed the grenade. My dad soon learned that the marines tend to yell that as they're lobbing frag grenades in the various games, too! 😎
Ooo, and almost forgot John's absolute panic eyes when Keyes called him forward during his inspirational speech, lol. Poor Chief, d'aww! But that was a really great moment to show people that Master Chief isn't a robot, he's a flesh and blood person, and I think that was used to great effect in this moment. 💖
In summary, this episode had me

This is a thought I had about God of War Ragnarok that I feel like I've not seen anyone else discuss but has plagued my mind since it ended. Everyone - characters and players alike - seem to forget that Brok accepted his death at Odin's hand.
Let me elaborate.
Brok (and Sindri) built Mjolnir for Thor. He had worked with the Aesir in the past. And, upon seeing the horrible destruction wrought from the hammer, created the Leviathan Axe for Faye. He was also a dwarf, and while we may not know the exact timeline of Asgard's occupation, he is obviously well aware of what Odin did in his home realm - specifically to what happened to dwarves who attempted revolution or other uprising.
The point is, Brok was very aware of what Odin and Asgard were like when he decided to help Kratos and Atreus.
Now, on to Post-Brok's death.
Obviously Sindri is heartbroken, and I cannot blame him for his anger against Atreus and Kratos in any way at this point in time. They were the people who effectively recruited Brok and Sindri into the protagonists' group, and even if the two dwarves were happy to do it, Kratos and Atreus were still the ones who asked them to. Brok's death resulted from that request.
But it was still Brok's informed and willing choice.
To quote Freya from God of War 2018, "I put my needs, my fears before [Baldur's] own." And that feels very much like what Sindri has done with Brok in my opinion.
When Brok originally died in the forge, Sindri saved him but refused to tell Brok what happened and in turn caused their split. When he died a second time by Odin's hand, Sindri came to blame Atreus (and to some extent the others), regardless of Brok's agency and knowledge of what he was getting into. Brok knew that they were heading towards Ragnarok and feasibly their deaths. He obviously didn't want to die, but he openly accepted the risks that came with aiding Atreus.
Sindri placed his own fear of being alone above the desires of Brok to know how he died and to help with Ragnarok.
I should add here that it's one thing for Sindri to blame Atreus initially, because he was grieving the death of his beloved brother and literally about to go to war. I won't blame him for that.
But, given what's been set up in the games, Sindri will probably continue to be antagonistic. And, if he continues to blame Atreus for what happened to Brok - it will draw an interesting parallel to Kratos and Freya in my opinion.
One party blaming the other for the death of a loved one that was partially the blamed person's fault, while the true culprit (Odin in both cases) is left unacknowledged. In the first case, Odin is ignored because Freya could not get to him, but she could get to Kratos and blame him for Baldur's death. In the second case, Odin is already dead by Sindri's own hand, Brok's soul cannot be revived, and Sindri mostly lacks the power to do more that tell Atreus he hates him. There is no satisfying vengeance to Sindri's grief that hasn't already been achieved, which is why I think he'll be an antagonist in the future, since he's obviously still angry.
There's also a side-tangent I could write on - the fact that Sindri was sent to rally the dwarves against Asgard, but chose not to involve them during Ragnarok. Obviously it did successfully keep the dwarves safe, which was Sindri's intention - but it robbed them of their ability to fight for their freedom during Ragnarok (something they probably wanted to do very badly considering the rebellions talked about in the game), which is once again a parallel to Kratos, Freya, and Baldur's death.
We see it in almost every other aspect of the games' story. Atreus and Kratos lying or withholding details from each other - not maliciously, but with the intent to protect in a way that backfires (in both 2018 and Ragnarok). The same with Freya and Baldur (her protection spell driving him insane), and even with Thrud, Thor, and Sif (her mother claiming that Thrud can't be a Valkyrie because Sif is afraid of what Odin will make her do in that role, while Thor encourages it so that she might be strong enough to keep herself safe).
And finally, Sindri claiming that Brok's death was the fault of Atreus despite Brok's informed and willing choice to fight Odin, denying Brok agency over his choice to help, even in death.
A quote Kratos from God of War Ragnarok to sum this whole thing up, "I do not regret saving your life and never will. But the choice between life and death should have been yours to make. I should not have robbed you of that choice."

Chapter Two
Masterlist
Tumblr media
A hundred winters had passed since the disappearance of Tyr.
A lot of things had changed in the meantime. Jormungandr had submerged himself in the Lake of Nine, drowning the temple of Tyr. You lived, or rather survived, day by day. You were trying to live without your beloved husband, but your life was meaningless without him. You did what you could to forget about him and move on. You had put all the things that Tyr had brought back in the cellar which you closed up, hiding the door behind your bookcase. You hid everything that could make you think of him.
To occupy your days, you spent your time outside the house. Strolling through the forest, taking care to stay within the protective field that Tyr had set up. In a hundred winters, you had never left the protective field. You were too afraid that Odin or one of his little dogs would be waiting for you outside. Now that Tyr was gone, nothing could stop the Allfather from finishing what he started.
But to your surprise, Fimbulvetr had started.
Which meant Baldur was dead and Ragnarok was near.
You had no role to play during Ragnarok. You just had to sit and wait for the Nine Realms to be devastated. Until a young man, accompanied by a man with extremely white skin and two dwarves approached your house. You were busy sharpening your arrows when you saw them approaching your garden. A young man accompanied by a dwarf that you knew only too well. Sindri, one of the two dwarves who made Mjolnir. You left your arrows, tightening your grip on your knife as you saw them approach.
“Take one more step and you will not leave this garden alive,” you said in a measured voice, glaring harshly at the intruders.
“S-sorry for disturbing you lady (Y/N),” Sindri apologized nervously as he hid behind the boy. "Good to see you again anyway. It's been a long time. You're still so young. It's your turn to talk, Atreus."
"Yes. You're (Y/N), right? Daughter of Mimir and Sigrun and a friend of Tyr?" asked the boy named Atreus. “I came to see you because we need your help.”
You looked at Atreus sternly before picking up an arrow, starting to sharpen it again under the uncertain eyes of your unwanted guests. Was it Sindri who told the boy about you? You had used their service a long time ago. He was the one who forged the sword that Sigrun gave you when you managed to beat Kara. But that was a long time ago now.
"I'm not that person anymore. (Y/N), daughter of Sigrun and Mimir died, a hundred winters ago now," you said, dipping the tip of the arrow into the fire. "I can't do anything for you, little one. Besides, how did you and the dwarf get past the protective barrier?"
"We…we managed to pass through a mystical door," Atreus replied. "(Y/N). Your father, Mimir, is alive. My father saved him from the tree where he was trapped. Well… in a way.
You froze upon hearing the words. Was Mimir alive? No it's impossible. If he were alive, he would have come to see you. Tears began to blur your vision. That stupid dwarf and that stupid boy dared to come to your house to say such a cruel thing to you. You slowly turned towards Atreus, making the boy flinch under the weight of your gaze. You stood up, slowly turning your body towards the teen who was backing away further. Sindri hurriedly stood between you and Atreus, apologizing for bothering you, but that the boy was telling the truth. Mimir was freed by a man named Kratos. You had enough. You turned your back on Sindri and Atreus, ordering them to leave before you do something you regret. You grabbed your arrows, hurrying back inside the house, slamming the door in Atreus' face and he started pounding on the door.
"(Y/N), please! We're looking for Tyr."
You felt your heart skip a beat. This boy had really just told you that Tyr was alive. You felt anger coursing through your veins. You turned back to the door, opening it forcefully. Atreus and Sindri jumped when they saw you leaving the house. They were surprised to see that your appearance had changed. Your eyes had turned black, your complexion was cadaverous and your veins were becoming black and visible. Sindri hurried to tell Atreus that they had to leave as quickly as possible. But the boy refused to listen to the dwarf.
"You dare to come to my house without invitation. You dare to tell me that the man I considered my father is alive. You dare to mock me by telling me that Tyr is alive! Tyr is dead! Mimir is dead! Everything everyone is dead!” you shouted, getting dangerously closer to Atreus who was retreating.
"N-no! They're alive. I… I have proof. If you came with me, I… I could show it to you and you… you could help us avoid Ragnarok, " Atreus explained as he held his hands out, showing that he was not a threat.
"No! You're just looking for a ghost and you're making fun of my pain. I've suffered enough and you dare to come and make fun. And you too Sindri!" you cried, pointing your knife at Sindri. "Don't think I've forgotten you! Don't think I've forgotten what you and your bastard brother did. I know it's because of you and your brother that Odin He took what was mine. I will never forget it."
"Lady (Y/N), I…I swear we didn't know Odin was planning on you…"
"Enough!"
You used your magic, creating a shockwave, which sent Atreus and Sindri out of your garden. The boy and the dwarf had no choice but to run away. You watched them go deeper into the forest before summoning your sword to search the surroundings. You didn't want to take any risks. You wouldn't be surprised if they were Odin's spies. You found the mystical door which collapsed. They had just entered the portal. How? It's been several years since you last used this door. It was surprising that it still worked. You groaned, turning your back on mystical door, heading back home.
Tyr would be alive?
What a ridiculous idea.
You would know if your husband were alive.
This boy, Atreus, had spoken of a clue. It was impossible. Odin would never have left any clues about his son. The Allfather was paranoid, especially regarding Tyre. It wouldn't make sense for Odin to leave traces.
You shook your head, pushing his thoughts out of your mind. You should no longer think about Tyre. You placed your sword on the table to start cooking, starting to heat up the rest of your stew. You ate your meal. Slowly chewing the pieces of meat. You found your food tasteless, as always. You've never been a great cook. It was always Tyr who took care of preparing the meals. During his travels, he learned many recipes and was happy to let you taste dishes from the countries he had visited. He especially made the decision to prepare meals when you tried to make a stew with deer meat, but the stew turned out to be a thick, inedible liquid. You couldn't help but smile as you remembered seeing him struggle for words so as not to hurt you.
It was another era.
You sighed, leaving the table to place the empty bowl in a bucket full of dirty dishes. You moved closer to the fireplace. You placed new logs there, rekindling the fire. You closed the shutters before undressing, finding yourself in your underwear. You wrapped the blanket around your body, letting yourself fall onto the bed. You buried your face in his pillow. You felt your mind slip into unconsciousness as a light laugh reached your ears. You cringed as you felt fingers brushing your tangled hair.
“Are you cold, my love?” asked Tyr, who was sitting on the edge of your bed. “I can put more logs in the fireplace.”
“No, I’m fine like that,” you said, burying your face further into your pillow. "We could stay like this right? Stay in this bed forever."
"Stick together. Yes. That would be nice," he said, kissing your cheek. "But we can't stay like this. We have to go hunting."
You sighed, leaving your warm bed to put on your warmest clothes. You took your bow and your quiver. Once ready, you followed Tyr out of the house. You set off with him into the forest, following the tracks of a deer that, according to your husband, could feed you for a whole week.
“Your sleep was restless last night too, my love,” said Tyr who walked in the lead. “Did you have a nightmare again?”
"I don't know if it was a dream or a nightmare. It's quite confusing. I thought I saw… wolves and… an eclipse, but I'm not so sure."
"Hm. A splint? It's been several winters since there was one like this," he said thoughtfully before stopping, kneeling down to examine the fresh marks. “This way.”
Tyr stood up, starting to walk again. You wanted to follow him, but your legs refused to move. Your gaze fell to your feet. They were held by roots. You called Tyr, but he had disappeared. You called out desperately as you felt the roots crawl up your legs. You grabbed an arrow, stabbing and cutting the roots. Once freed, you collapsed onto the ground, backing away from the roots. A scream escaped your lips when a flash of lightning tore the sky which turned red. What was happening? You approached, with a slow step, the edge of the cliff. The moon was hiding the sun. An eclipse. Like in your dream. You jumped when you heard grunts. You saw two pairs of eyes watching you through the trees. You wanted to run away, but your legs refused to obey you. What was happening?
“(Y/N).”
You jumped when you saw Tyr appear out of nowhere. The God of War was getting closer to you, his eyes and tattoos were luminous. A sign that he was using his magic.
"Tyr? What's going on?" you asked with a trembling voice.
“Time is of the essence my love,” he said, placing his hand on your head. "I need your help."
A scream escaped your lips as you felt the magic seep into your skull. You sat up with a start, holding your head and looking around you. Looking for Tyr. But unsurprisingly, you were alone. You placed your hand on your chest. Your heart was beating crazy fast.
This dream was really strange. Tyr was asking you for help? An eclipse? You shook your head, pushing his thoughts out of your mind. This boy had managed to put doubt in your mind. You sighed, leaving your bed to put on your warmest clothes. You reheated the stew, thinking about that dream and that boy.
Is Tyr really alive? What did this eclipse mean? What are these monsters lurking in the shadows? Why was this boy looking for your husband? Was Mimir really alive?
You shook your head, pouring what was left of the stew into your bowl. Calmly eating your meal which was always tasteless. A sigh escaped your lips. If you saw Tyr in your dreams and he asked you for help, that probably meant something, right? You cursed your weakness as you put on your warmest cloak, hanging your sword behind your back, leaving your home to find Atreus and Sindri. You went to the Lake of Nine, you were sure, at least, to find one of the dwarf brothers there or at least, one of their workshop. You walk through the forest. Leaving the protective barrier. You faced the cold of Fimbulvetr. You faced the Helwalkers who were trying to stop you.
When you arrived at the Lake, you were surprised and saddened to see that the statue of Tire was destroyed and there was a frozen lightning bolt in the middle of the huge frozen Lake. This flash meant only one thing: Thor had come to Midgard. You sighed, biting your lip nervously. Was he still around? You shook your head slightly. It was too late to turn back. You went down, treading the frozen lake. It's been so long since you've been here. You will travel across the lake, getting closer to what was the helmet of the statue of Tyre. You placed your hand on it, taking a deep breath. You were going to get answers. You walked away from the helmet, finding that stupid dwarf's workshop. You moved closer to the table. There was no one. But the embers were still hot.
“La-lady (Y/N)…?!” exclaimed Sindri who had just come out of nowhere. “It’s… it’s a surprise, and an honor, to see you here.”
“Think again, dwarf,” you said, leaning on the table. "You know some things that will piss me off. I know that. But you better tell me everything."
"About?"
The glare you gave Sindri made him understand what you were talking about. The dwarf stammered, searching for words, looking around nervously. You snapped your fingers under his nose, getting his attention.
“Consider the information I want as some sort of compensation for what you and your brother did to me,” you said through your teeth. “Where is the boy who accompanied you?”
"Fine, but… please don't start a fight in my house. The… the boy's father is there. With him. And he's quite protective of the boy."
"It'll be up to him. Hurry up."
You stepped aside from the workshop, allowing Sindri to pass through to activate the mystical door. Sindri went first. You walked through the door, arriving in a part of Yggdrasil you didn't know. There was a house embedded in the huge mystical tree. How long had he lived here? Sindri invited you to follow him inside. You entered the residence, surprising Brok who stopped hammering a sword.
“By Thor’s purses!”
“Still so rude,” you commented, examining the room. "Where is he?"
"Well… he…"
"What is going on?"
You turned to the man who had just entered the room. A muscular man, whose skin was as pale as a ghost, making his red tattoo stand out. He was armed with an ice axe. You held the gaze of the man who remained at a good distance. Watching for the slightest suspicious gesture. The tension was palpable.
“I assume you must be the father of the boy who came knocking at my door,” you said in a measured voice. "Where is he? He and the dwarf have some explaining to do."
"On which?"
“Given the question, you know exactly who I’m talking about,” you said, crossing your arms. "I just want his information. I don't want to fight. Trust me."
"That voice. Brother! Let me see our guest!"
You felt your heart skip a beat as you heard this voice that you would recognize in its Nine Realms. Kratos reached behind his back, unhooking a head from his belt and holding it out towards you.
"(Y/N)… daugther… you're there…"
You felt your heart racing. But that wasn't a good thing. Your breathing became erratic. You turned your back on Mimir. It was impossible. You must have been dreaming. Why would your father come back now? In this state? It must have been a trap. It must have been Odin playing a trick on you.
“This… this is another one of your tricks… is that it?” you asked, slowly turning towards Mimir and Kratos. “You’re trying to trick me again.”
"What? I… no! (Y/N). It's really me!" said Mimir. “I never set you up.”
"Ah of course!" You said looking in the direction. “So there are only traitors in this house.”
Sindri and Brok avoided looking at you, visibly ashamed. Noticing the dwarves' behavior, Kratos turned to them, asking what you meant. The Huldra brothers didn't know how to explain one of their biggest regrets. Sindri was the first to speak. Explaining that one day, Odin came to see them so that they could make him a weapon capable of cutting anything. Wanting to impress the Allfather, they obeyed. They are created a scythe capable of cutting anything. That satisfied Odin, but what they didn't know was that Odin had planned to cut off and steal your wings. Sindri and Brok looked at their feet, ashamed. You snorted seeing the behavior of the Huldra brothers.
It was pitiful.
“But the worst part of this story,” you said, looking at Mimir. "It's all your and Mother's fault. It was you two who sent me back to Midgard! Neither of you ever came to see me! You abandoned me! "
"No! No daugther! That's not true! Sigrun and I just wanted to protect you from Odin's madness! Look what he did to me! He imprisoned me shortly after you left Asgard. "
“That’s another lie.”
"No, he's not lying," Kratos said, taking a few steps forward. "I found Mimir trapped in a tree. On top of a mountain. The only way to free him was to decapitate him and ask Freya to resurrect him."
You looked at Kratos with a glare. This guy seemed to be telling the truth. You sighed rolling your eyes as you moved closer to the table to lean against it. Looking at Kratos, the Huldra brothers and your father with disdain.
"Let's assume that it's true. Let it not be a trap from Odin. That doesn't explain the fact that a boy knocked on my door to tell me about Tyr. I want to hear his explanations and know everything that he was able to find it."
Kratos turned towards a closed door. He ordered his son to come out of the room and come explain. Atreus opened the door, smiling nervously at his father who gave him a stern look. The young man moved closer to his father, greeting you with a nod.
"You went to see this woman. Without telling me," Kratos growled, glaring at his son severely.
"It… it was to ask for his help. I thought…"
"You thought?"
"Yes, I… I found out she was a friend of Tyr's. I… I thought she might know where he is."
“It was stupid to think that,” you said, moving closer to Atreus. “It’s been more than a hundred winters since Tyr died.”
“But… I found clues that say otherwise,” Atreus replied, taking out his notebook and handing it to you. “Look.
You took the boy's notebook, reading the notes that talked about your husband. According to his notes, Atreus saw Tyr imprisoned, but he did not recognize the place. The clues he found spoke of black smoke and bleeding earth. You turned your back on the group of men, thinking over his clues. It couldn't be Niflheim. There was the black mist, but this land didn't bleed so it could only be Svartalfheim.
"Black smoke and bleeding earth. It can only be Svartalfheim," you said, turning to face the father and son. "Odin has held the dwarves under his rule for centuries and my father did something that created this black smoke. Isn't that right Mimir?"
“Yes,” Mimir replied sadly.
"If all this is true. If there is someone locked up in Svartalfheim, it can't be Tyr. At least, it can't be him anymore. Even he would go crazy if he was locked up and tortured by Odin all this time. this time," you said, returning the notebook to Atreus. "I don't know your intentions, but Odin won't let you. It wouldn't be surprising if it was a trap."
“She is not wrong,” Mimir replied.
“What do you recommend?” Kratos asked.
"Not to go. But I don't think you're going to listen to me, are you?"
“Are you… are you coming with us?” Atreus asked, looking at you surprised.
"I know Svartalfheim. The dwarves will run away when they see a muscular guy arrive with a severed head hanging from his belt. They will say to themselves that Odin sent one of his men to kill them. And they will not be happy when they see Mimir again . Especially after what they did to them."
Atreus turned to Katos. He shook his head slightly, showing that this was not the time to ask questions. Your attention was caught by Sindri. The dwarf had just placed your sword on the counter. You picked up your weapon, checking the blade. It pained you to admit it, but Sindri still had talent. You made the sword disappear before Atreus' amazed eyes. The young man asked you what magic you used to make your weapon disappear and reappear as you wish. Your response was to tell him that it was none of his business. You looked at Kratos, asking him if he was ready to leave. Kratos grunted; The God of War walked towards the door. You followed the father and son out of Sindri's house. Kratos activated the mystical access before being interrupted by the Huldra brothers. Apparently, access to the Kingdom of Svartalfheim was blocked. Luckily, they had created a machine capable of unblocking the access, they were just missing the bifröst and the head. Brok unhooked the bifröst and Mimir from Kratos' belt, placing everything on their strange machine. Sindri calibrated the machine when a ray of light hit Mimir's face, causing Brok to laugh. When Mimir's bifröst's eyes were charged, Sindri hurried to aim for the door. Bifröst's ray struck the mystical door, opening a passage. Brok and Sindri hurried to fix everything, opening a passage to Svartalfheim.
You clenched your fists, taking a deep breath. This was going to be the moment of truth.
You were finally going to know if your husband was alive.

Thor, unenthusiastically: This is Baldur.
Thor with a warm smile: This is my beloved brother Loki.
Thor with heart eyes, floating above the ground: This is the love of my life, Mjolnir.
Loki, glaring: this is Thor he is my brother
Loki, with hearteyes: this is my dearest friend Sigyn
Loki, holding up the Tesseract and looking at it with reverence and awe: THIS is my one and only.

Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi says one of his influences on the Marvel Studios blockbuster was John Carpenter's 1986 action-comedy Big Trouble in Little China, which saw perpetually perplexed truck driver Jack Burton (Kurt Russell) ask a parade of questions in search of his truck. "The thing I love about that film is Jack Burton, all he wants, his only thing that he wants, is to get his truck back. Something so simple and all this crazy stuff is going on," Waititi said in The Directors' Roundtable, a digital-exclusive Avengers: Infinity War special feature exploring a conversation between several Marvel Studios filmmakers. Burton's trajectory and always-playing-catch-up is not too dissimilar from that of Thor (Chris Hemsworth), who is whisked away on an intergalactic adventure following the loss of beloved hammer Mjolnir. "I don't know if you've seen this, someone cobbled together this YouTube video of all the questions that Jack Burton asks... it's five minutes long, but it's basically every question that the audience is asking: 'Who's that? What is this thing? Where are we? Where are we going? Where's my truck? I want my truck back,'" Waititi said. "That was one of the main focuses on that film. Thor is always on the back foot, asking the questions that we're asking."
— COMIC BOOK.COM , by CAMERON BONOMOLO
Wow, this explains... SO MUCH about THOR: RAGNAROK and why its plot is so unbelievably jumpy. Not only did Dir. Waititi base the plot of Ragnarok off an action-comedy, but deliberately based Thor's characterization off of that same film's protagonist.
.....Except... in the most superficial way possible.
Yet again I am in absolute awe of the sheer incompetence in the handling of THOR: RAGNAROK's characters, themes, pacing and the basic tentpoles of screenwriting. There's a very specific framework with which a story is built, and this singular interview has finally shed light on what Waititi's thought process was when he was directing the film.
Being that he had none besides "haha funny".
BONUS:
"I've never improvised so much with this character which has been really exciting. Taika will just yell suggestions while rolling — 'Try this, try that' — and so on. And that has really come to change the game for myself and for the film." — Chris Hemsworth

The Mischief Filled Fox and The Mighty Lion

Thor Odinson was what everyone seemed to desire in a man, a man of tall stature standing at 6'4, his muscle was something of legends, built from years of wielding Mjolnir, hair as golden as the finest gold, his eyes as blue as the clearest ocean,  as for his face, it was as chiseled as one would expect from a god, with beard to accompany it that just seemed to work for him. His voice deep, yet seemed to boom no matter what he spoke, a feature that people would find endearing even if he was getting something wrong, at least that was from the prospective of Loki Friggason (formally Odinson).
Loki Friggason to everyone was the forgotten son, for if Thor was the lion, fierce in nature and beloved by everyone, then Loki was the forgotten predator, much like a fox. Who hide within the shadows awaiting for the next prey, yet all along. For the lion was always expected to beat the fox, for Loki that had been a majority of his life. Thor always having everything as Loki was pushed into the shadows, forced to watch as his brother won everything he could ever desire. Thus when a foot-race had been suggested amongst the avengers, Loki had little interest in doing so, already knowning the outcome. To him it would be the same as all the rest, with the mighty lion prevailing in the end, with the fox forever left in the shadows, at so he had thought, little did he know that perhaps that this wouldn't be the same, all because of her, his cat, and his love……
From the moment that the avengers had suggested a foot-race, Loki had protested, continuing to even the day of. Foe while Thor was bouncing on the tips of his toes from excitement, Loki was less excited, his eyes already rolling at his brother's display. "Must we do this," he grumbled lacing up what the mortals called tennis shoes. To this Loki recieved several looks of annoyance, general displeasemeant, or neutrality in his direction.
"Now, now don't be a sore loser already reindeer games," Tony interjected, reaching down to pat Loki on his shoulder, despite Loki normally being far taller then Tony in stature.
"Must you call me that name, Anthony," Loki responded bitter about his nickname.
"Would you rather call you a bitter snake?"
"No."
"Then reindeer games it is, unless you would like to refered to as Snape."
"And why must I be refered to as anything?"
"For missions of course."
"And what do names have to do with missions?"
"If one of us ever get caught I would rather them know us by a code name, then our true names."
"You are merely saying that because you take delight, in my misery."
"Says you reindeer games." To this Tony recieved an eyeroll aimed in his direction, one that was very much deserved on his end. Yet before Loki could make another snarky and bitter comment, someone else injected, one that Loki was more pleased about.
"Now Tony, isn't that enough," a voice called out and the moment she opened her beautiful lips and spoke, Loki felt as if everything had stopped, for there was nobody else in the world aside from her. Words that she could've used as a shield to defend anyone and yet when she spoke they embraced him, much akin to a warm hug. Always being his defender much like a cat curling up to someone, her words feeling as gentle as one would expect a cat's tail to feel.
"Well if it isn't, our resident reindeer tamer," Tony greeted his voice very light, in different to the seething of Loki. Loki's fist already starting to wrap against his knuckles, a mencing aura surounding the usual mischievious god.
"Say that again," Loki uttered, fist still tightly held.
Almost as if he sensed Loki's agression, Thor took to defusing the tension that was starting to cloud the air. His voice trying to remain airy despite Thor's long knowledge of his brother whenever he got like this. "I am sure Stark, was just jestering brother, right Stark." At this Thor shot Tony a look of tread careful in his direction.
"Right, it's not my fault that reindeer games here can't take a joke," Tony said almost oblivious to the tensiont that Loki was carrying either that or didn't care. For one might admit that Loki could be amusing like this, yet you could only poke the fox, so much before they bite you.
"See, brother, Stark was joking, now how about I go see if our guests have arrived come with me, Stark."
"And miss the show?" The tone that Tony took sounded more like a child deprived of his favorite entertaiment then a grown man who ran one of the most powerful super groups.
"I am afraid so Lady Pepper might be displeased if you don't welcome our guests," Thor said, as he tried to usher Tony in the other direction away from Loki, and his love, but not before turning to Loki one last time. "And try to treat the lady nicely brother."
"Don't I always? If I recall you were always the wild one when it came to the ladies of Asgard."
"You too have your trysts as they say."
"Perhaps." Slowly a smile began to creep upon Loki's face, Thor taking this as a chance to lead Stark elsewhere as they soon Loki and his love was alone. "So may I ask what brings you up here kitten," Loki asked casually as if his heart wasn't thumping.
"To see you who else?"
"Oh and not to see my oaf of a brother?"
"Now who is the older brother, here?"
"Still him."
"Even so you are still the older one."
"How, do you think that?"
"For all your mischief, you are far wiser when it comes to matters."
"But..."
"But nothing, don't let them get in your head."
"Why, we both know how this shall end kitten."
"Do we fox?"
"We both know that despite my brother being an oaf he always comes out the victor, much like a mighty lion."
"He will if you keep acting that way. Now chin up Loki," she said her eyes boring right into Loki's own, eyes that Loki desired to get lost in. Yet this wasn't the time, but when would he ever have the time?
"Not mischief or fox?"
"No, for now isn't the time for that."
"Then what time is it?"
"For this," she responded and before Loki could protest she had placed a delicate kiss onto Loki's cheek.
"I.... I....," Loki stuttered as slowly, the mighty Loki once burdened with glorious face began to devolp a scarlet red, words unable to come out of his silver tongue for once. Just as Loki started to form the words, fates seemed to test as yet again something came in the way, a voice that Loki would rather not hear.
"Well it seems even the great silver tongue can shatter, much akin to that night," the voice said, at this Loki allowed another eye roll, to cross his features, for he knew that voice better then most, not even to have to look to know it belonged to Fandral. It was at moments like this that Loki was remainded of one his many mistakes and excatly why he should've never allowed himself to be seduced into Fandral even if it was just one time. For ever since that Fandral took the chance to tease Loki, and even remind him or their single sexual encounter, a memory that Loki would rather not think of.
"Hello to you, Fandral," Loki said his voice laced with bitter venom, already not in the mood to see Fandral. Matters made worse when he seemed to take it upon himself as to place a single kiss on Kitten's hand.
"A pleasure as always, my lady. I still can't imagine how one such as Loki could be in the company of someone such as you."
A small growl might've escaped Loki's lips upon seeing this, through if anyone asked he would deny it. Through that still didn't mean Loki didn't have anything to say. "Don't you have other things to do, such as watch Thor do whatever he does?"
"Sif, Hogun, and Volstagg should be here shortly, I believe Thor was showing them around that human you call Stark's tower."
"Then why didn't you go with them?"
"They claimed my flirting was too much for them."
"So they stuck you on me."
"I thought you would be happier to see me."
"Yes, I am very much overjoyed to see you."
"Cross as always aren't you Lokes."
The moment that name slipped out of Fandral's lips, did a dagger get aimed at his direction. "Say that again, and we shall see just how pretty you are."
"Kinky as always I see,"  Fandral said clearly ignoring the danger that he was facing, at this Kitten took the chance to intervene.
"Now Loki, remember what Tony said."
"No aiming daggers at people."
"Excatly."
"But it's Fandral," Loki whinned much like a child having a toy taken from him.
"I understand the udge, but we can't keep getting complains about it. Perhaps you could pay him back for it later."
At this a smile began to spread on Loki's lips once more. "Clever as always my kitten."
"While as not as clever as one blessed with glorious purpose I do try."
"Will you never let me forget that?"
"Maybe."
"When?"
"Perhaps when I am dead."
"But who knows when that shall be," Loki teased trying not to think about that subject matter in particular.
"Now shall we leave?" Her arm now offered out to Loki.
At this Loki quickly took the offered arm, for when would he get another chance at this. "Perhaps, we shall see what my brother is up to."
"There is my mischief," she teased as she once more placed another kiss to Loki's cheek. Once again Loki found himself for a loss of words. Slowly he began to back away, his mind running far to fast even for him. Trying to figure out why she had just done that, rather then focusing on the events around him. Somehow he had managed to make his way toward what Tony had deemed the starting line at the edge of the field surrounding the new Avenger's tower. Thor already being there, dancing on the tips of his toes, as Loki tried not to focus on his surrounding especially her.
"Are you ready for this brother?"
"As ready as I could ever be."
"Good then appolgize if Stark might need to come and search for you in his iron suit."
"It will be you who shall need the searching brother."
"So you say."
"Now gods are you ready," Tony asked, as he interjected, causing both brothers to look at him, toy gun in his hand.
"Yes, now get on with it," Loki said in no mood for games, his mind still wondering about that kiss.
"Whatever you wish reindeer games. Ready, set," he started to say pausing for dramtic effect. "Jun." With a simple glow of his seidr another Loki appeared, as he began to run with Thor following towards it.
"Stop brother he didn't say run," he cried, only to land face first in dirt, mere inches away. At this Loki put his hand to his head, and let out a deep sigh.
"Are you never not going to fall for that?"
"You know you aren't supposed to use your seidr," Thor pointed out.
"Yes, but I do like seeing you fall."
"How cruel brother, now what would your lady say about that?"
"My lady."
"Yes, she is watching you after all," Thor pointed out and just as Loki saw her everything became a blur. As the next thing he remembered was tripping onto the ground as Thor disappeared off into the distance. Slowly did Loki's face began to become crimson once more. For not only had he fallen in front of the so-called avengers, but his love too.
Oh how must she must think of me as an embrassement. This is what I get for trying to please someone as alluring and ravishing as her, he thought already down on himself. Yet rather then hear nothing instead Loki heard something else, as the next thing was one he yearned to hear.
"You can do it, Loki," she cried, out and only when hearing this voice did Loki start to get up. Slowly he began to jog, which turned into a run, as she kept repeating the words over and over. Almost louder each time, yet she wasn't the only one that kid they called Spiderman was also cheering alongside her, yet all Loki heard was her. As slowly he began to increase his speed, until he could no longer hear them. Perhaps he might not be able to beat Thor, but perhaps he could catch up with him. Quickly Loki ran like he never did before reminding himself of all those times that Thor had bested him, whether that be in the company of woman, contests, or even at Odin's praise. Each thought pushed Loki further and further, as he ran through the path that Tony had deemed.
Until he was rounding his way back, yet as he got closer to the mark that Tony had deemed as the finish line, he swore he saw a familar bit of golden hair beneath a tree. It was only upon closer inspection that he saw it was Thor beneath the tree. While one might've expected Thor to sense Loki, sadly for Thor he didn't this day. Perhaps Thor had stayed up far to late or drank something that made him tired or something else, alas he didn't seem to wake as slowly Loki began to pass by him. Making his way towards the finish line, her voice still echoing in his mind. As with each time he repeated it, he was remainded just why he needed to finish this race, to see her. For perhaps those feelings that he thought was only one sided might not just be that.
As Loki lingered closer to the finish line, his courage started to regain amongst himself, especially upon hearing her voice. Loki now on the edge of the finish line, at least until he saw a familar blur, edging closer and closer to him. Yet luckily for Loki this time, his hand just glazed the finish line just as the figure that Loki saw as Thor came into view. The moment that Loki crossed at line everything became second rate, as he felt a weight come on him. For the moment he felt her did everything truly open almost as if ever insecurity came second to her.
For the next thing he felt was her lips on his and he embraced it only speaking when they parted. "What was that for?"
"Someone had to make a move, and you weren't going to."
"So those kisses before the race," Loki asked, his brow slowly becoming quizicle, his eyes while lingering still bore into hers the best he could. For while he was more confident, not even she could rid of all his unsecurities.
"A way to encourage you," she beamed, her eyes boring into his, not even lingering down. For as long she was looking at him that was what mattered.
"Or was it to confuse me my minx?"
"So am I your minx now?"
"Perhaps you are, but whose to say," Loki said as his brow slowly rose down, his confidence slowly building up more. Trying to keep his heart from being more aflutter then it already was. Through she certainly didn't help with her next words.
"What do you suppose we do now?"
"Perhaps you could make a move."
"And what kind of move would you wish for me to make."
"And what move might that be, my dear," Loki asked, now confident enough to allow a smirk starting to creep on his face.
"You know excatly what move I mean."
"Do I?"
"Must you do this now?"
"Don't you like it when I do this?"
"I can't with you."
"Oh, but you can, so you either you can say it or I can."
"Ooh you who made me make the first move."
"That was one time, and next time you shall not be as quick."
"Won't I, because all I can tell is I am here awaiting for you to make move."
"A move you have yet to tell me."
"Never."
"Then I suppose you will have to go without my kiss," Loki said whispering the last part in particular.
"What did you just say?"
"You heard me."
"Did I, or perhaps have I misheard."
"Minx."
"Always."
"Must you when we are about to do what we will be doing?"
"And what might we do?"
"Kiss," Loki said far quicker and quieter then one might expect almost as if he was a virgin when he was far from one.
"What was that again?"
"Nothing."
"You sure?"
"Positive."
"Then how about I suggest something?"
"And what might that be?"
"I say we kiss?"
"In front of everyone?"
"Why not, besides everyone should see who you belong to."
"I belong to you now?"
"Don't you, unless I am mistaken."
"You aren't."
"Good."
"Why were you jealous, of Fandral perhaps?"
"Of him never, I just like the thought of annoying Fandral."
"My what a minx I have."
"You know you love me."
"Don't I ever you enchanting minx," Loki said with a chuckle, and through this was unexpected, more unexpected than he could've ever thought. At this, Loki thought perhaps the Mischief Fox could win against the lion if he had his own kitten. Maybe it had always been there all along, but that thought was for another time, for all that mattered to Loki was that she was now in his arms, that the mischievous fox had finally found won and found home with her.

Reigning Expectations

summary; you pick up mjolnir, that’s it, that’s the fic.
warnings; alcohol drinking, peer pressure, nat and tony being annoying
a/n: you fuck thor in the next part, but procrastination is my vice so we will see
part two!
Tumblr media
The avengers sat scattered across the illuminated living room of the tower, the night festivities strewn around the room. The lazy air clung to them as they sipped from thier filled glasses and laughed amongst each other.
Nights like these were rare, and were afforded only after one of Tony’s boisterous parties or charity events. Much of the night was filled with budding elbows with senators, politicians, and socialites, thier never ending questions and preening faces souring most of the teams mood whilst simultaneously fuelling the egos of Tony and Sam.
The high esteem and society that came with a Tony’s money wasn’t something the team particularly enjoyed divulging in, yet thier presence was expected by most of the party goers nevertheless, being the world saving mighty heroes and all.
Slowly, as more liquid was poured into glasses and the music fleeted across the luxurious apartment, the Avengers begun actually having a good time. Although they were forced to mingle amongst pretentious, spoilt trust fund adult children, and slightly dirty politicians, once they surrounded themselves with thier team members, and let the dirty brown pleasure and asgardian ale glide down thier throats and bodies, the nights apprehension was all but forgotten.
It was still annoying though.
As much as the alcohol has turned thier distaste to a semi-amusement towards the event, it quickly dissipated as Tony was brought forth to the large stage overhanging the floor of moving bodies and coaches.
Catching the attention of party goers, the billionaire glinted with a mischievous smirk that told the rest of the team enough. This would be a sobering following of events.
With one hand gripping a glass of bourbon, and another holding onto a microphone that seemed to appear out of nowhere, Tony begun thanking the many people for coming
“As you know, I’ve somewhat gone through a rebirth of sorts,
A snort from Bucky pulls heads to a swivel, eyes gliding over the brunette, before quickly moving back towards Tony after his pointed glare.
“Gone are the days of reckless youth, eganormous drinking and musty clubs that weren’t even that good. I’m sure you all know my golden days, and I’m sure I’ve made a point of ignoring and dismissing the duty I owe this country. With the esteem of my position, and the power granted to me, I shall appoint a gathering right in this tower to raise funds for the ongoing conflicts that have cornered our democracy, and damaged our beloved communities.”
Tony’s assistant, a tall stoic woman with auburn hair she’d slick back in a tight bun nodded throughly through his speech, mouthing along with him, rubbery red lips pulled back to reveal pearly whites as Tony performed the speech she wrote him.
Many of the avengers groaned out audibly, Steve grunting againts his tight lips and crossed arms, motioning to Thor for more alcohol.
No one was stupid, charity events planned by the rich and wealthy were never about giving back to the community or whatever hastily made up name wrapped over the correlated event. It was purely a morally acceptable way to flaunt your money, status, assets and power. The avengers knew it, and it burnt the goodness in Steve to no end.
The mass of people gathered tonight did too, their eyes sparkling and mouths practically frothing at the thought of showcasing thier hundreds, thousands, millions, as they raise thier paddled to buy begotten antiques and recovered jewellery.
“I trust that this event will be kept discreet, and tight lipped. Loose lips sink ships, or shall I say ruin a little fun?”
The crowds of people chuckle and laugh hearty, the sound bouncing off the walls and windows, mocking the Avengers as they boar holes into the chest of Tony stark.
“I seriously don’t want to have to barred anyway from coming, or blacklisting any of you because you couldn’t keep a tight lid” He laughed humoursly, there was a warning glint underneath his joyful tone, and it had many of the part goers nodding enthusiastically, afraid of a future without their unnecessary banquets, charity events and ridiculous parties.
As Tony rambled on about the precedings of the promised charity event, many of the avengers made their way down the steps and sat down around the centre of the tower, where a large coffee table was placed surrounded by sleek coaches and chairs. This was were they remained whilst the masses of people slowly filed out of the large doors of the building, getting into thier mercedes, Maseratis and bmws, cheeks warmed by the bottomless pit of alcohol and the nights atmosphere
Lounging in thier seats, the avengers finally relaxed once they were left amongst thier team members. This was your favourite part. The after. It took months of your unrelenting pressure for the team to atleast try and spend time with one another, that brought them to the pleasured nights they found supremely enjoyable after Tony’s events. Most of the time the team would be recounting stories of each other, reminiscing over memories and times before, whilst glasses of alcohol was passed.
They were relaxed, as much as they allowed themselves too of course, they were still avengers. And their calculating eyes were still constantly surveying and analysing their surroundings even whilst inebriated. Muscle memory, a habit ingrained into them from whatever lives they’d lived before.
“Oh come one, you’re telling me you haven’t thought about dragging these masses of muscles to bed and having your way with them?” Natasha smirked, head head tilted in question towards you.
The rest of the team stopped thier muffled talking, eyes turning towards you, awaiting your answer. Most of the team recognised you as the shy and dorky girl they loved too much, and as their eyes drifted down to your modest dress and brown flats, it was as clear as ever the truth that you just weren’t that girl. That confident, that secure in you’re sexuality and love and everything else that went into fucking gods.
That didn’t stop Tony and Natasha from teasing you though, relishing in the jittering replies you’d bark back, no signs of guilt at their torment.
“Uh, no, I mean, you all are, have impressive forms,” you nod hands awkwardly motioning towards Sam and Thor.
You were fumbling, and from the snickers coming from Nats wine lips, everyone could tell.
“That just isn’t my thing,” You replied back, glaring at the redhead. Pushing an elbow into her, whispering admonishment.
“Hm, I don’t know, I mean you’ve never brought anyone back to your room after our night outs, and as much as you are secretive, you don’t seem the type to have a secret family in some boring midwest town”
“No offence Hawkeye” Tony grinned towards Banner, the archer merely rolling his eyes at his snide remark.
But there’s something about you.. what is it, got some freaky deep web fetish that’s spooked away any suitors?” Tony kept up his unrelentless interrogation.
His eyes were wind with amusement, a shark like smirk creases his face, you grunted out in annoyance, you’d played your part, you’d shown face to a bunch of socialists and hedge fund babies, what more did Tony want from you? Must he always come back for more to his own twisted entertainment?
“Oh lay off it Stark, you always gotta make stuff wierd, ever thought maybe I just don’t want the entire world knowing? Much less billionaire ex play boy who would probably find out every single thing about them, down to to thier damn childhood pet” You gruffly relied, tired of Tony’s antics.
Tony runs to you in surprise, mouth widening at your exasperated expression,
“Ooh! Defensive, a clear sign of guilt, are you trying to deflect now?” Tony grinned, the high ceilings lights casting a warming glow across his features.
“Yeah, whatever” You rolled your eyes, knocking back the glass of macallan that stayed stationary in your hand.
Kissing your teeth, rubbing your thighs you don’t miss Steve and Bucky’s penetrating gaze, eyes following the slope of your neck, eyes brows quirked up as they took notice of your expression.
Bucky leaned into Steve, pressing into his shoulder as he whispered something into his ears, mouth pressed to the curve of Steve’s ear. Steve nodded momentarily, eyes gazing at you as Bucky seems to divulge Victoria’s fucking secret.
The sound of loud laughter pulls you back into the conversations amongst the rest of the team, you hadn’t realised how long you’d been checked out, ears prickling to following along.
“No no no, you all could never understand the honour and privilege of wielding this hammer” Thor tauter, his blonde hair tied up into a pony tail, blue eyes smiling.
“Yeah, it took you..how long again?, I’d pay good money to see you trip over yourself trying to hold that when you were what? 6 trillion years old?” Tony yawed, eliciting a fake boredom.
“Wasn’t it a hand me down anyways? Odin, then Hela, middle child problems let me tell you” Clint grinned from his position on the coach, which essentially was lying on his back with his legs intertwined with Natasha’s.
“You mortals think this is a joke, Mjolnir is an ancient gift passed down my lineage, most of you will not ever get close to something as mythical and historic as this weapon” Weilding the hammer above his head Thor points it towards Clint, eyes gleaming with mischief.
“If you think it’s so easy, why don’t you do it yourself?” The hammer lays even heavier as Thor points it towards Clint, the proposal rumbles laughter scattered around the room.
An uneasy look pases through Clint, teeth pulled into a line, but it leaves just as quick as it formed, and before you could blink he’s making his way across the coach towards the dining table.
Thor nods, and paces Mjolnir on the table, it makes a loud thunk as it hits glass, and Clint seizes his hand, flexing the muscle as he tries to lift the heaviest thing on earth.
A silence covers the floor, the avengers looking on as the prospect of a Clint taking the position of the reigning king over Asgard blossoms.
Clint mutters to himself, trying to fiend confidence and in one, two, three, he pulls.
The gruff clank of Clint’s body gripping and dragging the hilt, feet planted and shoulders hunched as he meanversous his body to direct all his strength to his biceps and arms.
Clint face remains determined, eyebrows scrunched as he scrutinised the metal, indignation firing through his blues despite the sheen of sweat that begins to form on his face.
Grunts pass through his lips as he begins to strain from amounting so much energy, and after a few moments of helpless tugging and pulling, he gives up, shrugging his shoulders and muttering his dislike of Asgard through bated breaths.
You’ve got to give it to him, no amount of convincing would make you even try that.
The rest of the avengers tried their hands at lifting mjolnir, Tony even going as far as using his detachable hand to muster amount enough strength to move the hammer.
And for a moment, a second of monetarily relief, you think you’ve best the avengers, escaped thier unnecessary need to embarrass the people they love. It was foolish really, and it only took meeting Nats eyes for a mere second before your name was being changed like enchanted gospel.
You’re being pushed by soft hands to raise on your feet, you let out an audible grumble that leaves scattered laughter, you down the last of of your liquor, it glides down your throat like silk but who are you kidding, your nerves are still leaving jittered marks across your body.
Rolling your shoulder back, your crack your knuckles, popping the air between the bones, you flex your muscles comically, and the team whops and whistles to your antics. Maybe they’re too far gone to care, maybe they won’t even notice, I’ll just pretend I cant pick it up, yep that’s what I’ll do.
You wrap and arm around mjolnir, it fits like a glove, it shakes with an energy only you and Thor can sense as it welcomes an old friend. Thor raises from his hunched position, eyes piercing into your hand, melting the meat and fat until it’s just bones.
You try, with all your might to not give an inch of strength to the hammer, you flex your arms until they’re slack enough, relief fills you as the hammer doesn’t budge, the avengers begin to heckle and all is well.
The loud clattering of a bottle seizes your arm, it flexes the muscles of your wrist and you curse to yourself as you clench your eyes, knowing third eyes are on you, knowing he’s the one who had provoked you.
And you before you know, right infront of them all.
The hammer raises in the air, your tight grip wrapped around its hilt.
You pick it up.
Fuck.

14. that one thing you see in fics all the time
i answered this one here!
8. common fandom opinion that everyone is wrong about
inhales deeply
everyone is wrong about Loki being worthy to wield Mjolnir.
no, no, don't give me that look. my logic for why everyone is wrong about it is rooted in canon for both the MCU and Marvel Comics.
everyone needs to take twenty steps back and sit down and think about why you need Loki able to wield Mjolnir in the first place. what is so fucking special about this hammer, you need Loki to wield it. is it rooted in the belief that being able to wield it means Loki is a hero? does the ability to wield it mean to you she's redeemed herself for all her past misdeeds?
if it is, this rant is for you! (and even if you don't, hi welcome to my biggest pet peeve related to my most beloved!)
Loki cannot, and will never be able to wield Mjolnir. he will never be worthy to carry it. and it makes sense for this character.
in the comics, it's established at some point (i am not citing the specific issue, sue me, Thor has 12343464574 comics) that to be worthy of wielding and using the powers of Mjolnir, the wielder has to be someone who can reasonably fulfill the role of Thor in Ragnarok should Thor die.
the text on the hammer itself essentially says whoever wields the hammer is worthy of the power of Thor. and what comes with that is the role of being Thor. the responsibilities and the trials and choices that come with taking on Thor's role. they have to be willing to walk the life of Thor in Ragnarok, including his death.
in the comics, Thor recognises he cannot be the hero that people need Thor to be while he's unworthy of Mjolnir. it's why he grants Jane the right to use his name when she wields Mjolnir. now, granted, there was a lot going on with Thor at this time in the comics which lead up to him being unworthy, but that would take too much time to go over so i won't. but Jane at this point was dying, and she kept wielding the hammer even after learning it would kill her. she remains the Mighty Thor knowing that this path will kill her in the end. and that is part of the reason she's worthy, she's willing to sacrifice herself in the end to save people.
but Jane (and Thor, when he was worthy) had faith and conviction in her decisions while wielding Mjolnir.
Loki doesn't have this, not truly.
i will admit to there being a (very short) point where Loki could wield Mjolnir in the comics, but it happened during an event known as AXIS, when (via an inversion spell done by Red Skull [don't ask, comic shenanigans, he's still not Actually Dead iirc]) the heroes/anti-heroes became villains/anti-villains and the villains/anti-villains became heroes/anti-heroes.
and that Loki? the Loki who was worthy to actually wield Mjolnir and classified as a "hero"? a complete, utter ass of a person.
you think i'm joking? here, having these comic panels.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
but!!! this actually brings us to the point of this rant. why Loki is not worthy of Mjolnir, and why she will never be worthy.
this Loki? mentions he no longer feels guilt for the things he's done bc of this whole event fucking with his mind.
what do i take from that?
one of the core fucking reasons that Loki cannot wield Mjolnir is because he feels so much guilt. but that doesn't go deep enough. we gotta go another layer deeper, because Thor can still wield Mjolnir when he feels guilt.
but Thor never doubts himself and his ability to be a good god to his mortals. when Thor does? that's when he's unworthy to wield Mjolnir.
you can absolutely layer that specific lens of interpretation onto Loki, because he is always doubting himself. why? because everyone questions every little thing he does, and no one trusts that he has good intentions (except for Thor, and for a time even that wasn't guaranteed for Loki, in either universe).
even when Loki is doing things for the good of others, he doubts himself because he's weighed by the fact others will see the worst in what he's done. so it's less "i no longer feel guilt for my actions" and more "i no longer doubt myself for the things i do or have done".
and yes. you can apply this specific lens of interpretation to OG Loki in the comics too, the one pre-Siege. the one literally titled God of Mischief, Lies, and Evil.
"amphi stop reaching" IM NOT
okay maybe a little, but i'm not reaching that far.
i don't recall exactly who in the comics knows/remembers the fact Ragnarok is a cycle, and that the creation and destruction of the universe is something Odin is trying to break. not the point, doesn't matter.
for a moment, imagine that Loki knew about the Ragnarok cycles. imagine that he knew about the various lives he'd lived before. he'd know he would never be trusted, or loved, and even if he clawed his way into respect with the Asgardians, he is always fated to fall from their favour and be twisted into the villain of the Aesir and of Asgard.
because remember, in the mythology (which is referenced in the comics as a previous Ragnarok cycle) Loki is trusted by the gods of Asgard.
as much as they blame him for things, or they rage at him, and they hate and mistrust him, Loki was one of them. Loki is a jotunn in the mythology, and while we no longer have the myths that tell us how, we know that he and Odin were blood-oath brothers. that implies serious trust and love on Odin's part about Loki, to take that oath and to call Loki brother. to bring him to Asgard, and call him one of their own. it is an enormous thing that does not get enough attention about their mythological counterparts.
but through so many small and large things in the myths, Loki falls out of favour with all of Asgard. including Odin.
so. imagine this. Loki in the comics knows all of this. knows that, even if he can get Asgard to love him and trust him, eventually things will happen and he will lose all of that. the major difference in this is that Thor is his brother, and they're not bound by blood or a blood-oath, but a life lived side-by-side as brothers who loved and hated each other in a complicated dynamic that only they understand.
but Loki knows his fate. so he pushes everyone away. he makes people hate him before they can love him, because he assumes it will hurt less. and everyone but Thor (and later Sigyn) falls into this.
but Loki is also selfish. he holds onto Thor and Sigyn, falling into a loop of trying to pull close those few people he cannot truly push away, only to remember his fate and do what he can to push them away again. because Loki truly and deeply loves both his wife and his brother, and they both love him too, they love him back. but he's trapped himself in a cycle of self-abuse by doing this.
can you imagine the doubt that would sow?

Marvel Super Hero Adventures: Frost Fight
I tried to get Thor: Tales of Asgard on one of my streaming sites, but it's unavailable (Google's a liar). But I did find this ridiculous Christmas special, and Christmas starts November 1 for me, so I'm gonna watch this and report back. My screenshots are not great quality, apologies in advance.
Spoilers for Marvel Super Hero Adventures: Frost Fight!
I hope I get some Frostiron fodder from this because I'm a fucking fool. [EDIT: I did not. :( ]
Oh fuck I forgot Thor is voiced by Travis Willingham
MATT MERCER IS CAP HOLY FUCK
Fuck hang on now I'm sidetracked by the voice actors. Okay, I just recognized Ironman because he always voices him. Captain Marvel was Delilah Blackwood in Vox Machina!!! Why are there so many Critical Role voice actors in here??!! And Loki is ALSO in Vox Machina what is happening?? The Avengers to Vox Machina/Critical Role pipeline is fucking bewildering y'all.
Reptil, why are you in civilian clothes?? The only hero stuff he has are his wings and I know nothing about him so I can't tell if they're organic or technical but either way they are the thinnest wings I've ever fucking seen. Listen to Cap and stay out of this. Your mentors couldn't even be bothered to suit you up as a precaution.
Tumblr media
Who took the time to cross off "on duty"?? Was it Tony? I bet it was Tony.
Tumblr media
Yes!!! My boi my love my darling is heeeeeeerrrrrreeeeeee!!!!!! (Caption by me, obvs)
Reptil, you don't have any armor!!!
Loki just called Reptil, "childasaurus" which was not funny at all but I definitely laughed because I'm fucked.
Oh no (not in a shipping way). I'm in tremendous danger of rooting for Loki throughout this movie.
"I'm trying to remember all the positives of a big hole in the sky. Nope. There are none." TONY STARK I'M CRYING.
Tumblr media
CAPSICLE!!!
He. He just. I am not kidding, Cap just defeated the frost giant by kicking a shard of ice UP ITS ASS. LITERALLY cause of death: pegged too hard by Captain America. I can't even.
So Reptil gets hit in the head by the frost giant while trying to outfly the vortex caused by the portal. He gets knocked out, the frost giant goes into the portal, and the portal closes. And then IRONMAN TRIES TO YELL AT HIM TO WAKE HIM UP. YOU'VE GOT THOR WHO CAN FLY WITH MJOLNIR, STARK WHO CAN FLY, AND CAPTAIN MARVEL WHO CAN FLY all there on the beach, and NOT A ONE thinks to fly to his rescue. Hulk yells at him and he wakes up. What is this movie??
Ymir get off Loki's throne, you upstart!
Santa is part elf and part frost giant??!!
"Santa Claus is beloved, celebrated. Songs are sung in his name." Loki, I'll write a song for you.
Please I need just ONE episode of Loki where Tom Hiddleston has to say "The hunt is on for Santa Claus." Just one. That's the funniest thing I've ever heard come out of Loki's mouth. [We've gotten a Guardians Christmas special; gimme a Loki Christmas special, Marvel, I'm fucking begging you.]
Can we get this boy [Reptil] some other pants? These sweats are why he's tripping so much.
TONY why are you still in the suit while it's being washed? THIS DOESN'T COUNT AS A SHOWER.
"Hulk that's not shampoo." WAS IT REALLY FOOT CREAM TONY OR IS IT JUST THE PG ANSWER?
ROCKET FUCK YES SECOND FAVORITE SUPERHERO MY LOVE
Damn Loki's discovered outsourcing.
Tumblr media
REPTIL SITTING ON HULK'S SHOULDERS IS SO CUTE
Loki: *puts a massive bounty on Santa's head and frames him for multiple crimes*
Thor: 'Tis merely a funny jest! My brother loves his pranks. Have I told you about the time he stabbed me?
"It isn't impossible if you believe." Reptil do not turn this into The True Meaning of Christmas: The Movie.
Okay I'll take some stony shit if we don't get frostiron.
Reptil aren't you a little... old to still believe in Santa?
Why does Santa live on the Candyland game board?
If this movie doesn't end with the Avengers and Loki exchanging presents around the Christmas tree because The True Meaning of Christmas led a LITERAL NORSE GOD to set aside his villainy for the day in the name of kindness and generosity and Christian cheer, I'm going to be sorely disappointed.
TONY MEETING THE ELVES AND IMMEDIATELY LAYING INTO THE MICRO AGGRESSIONS, JESUS
Yeah why didn't you bring Thor? He wouldn't have been racist--actually I watched Thor 1, he absolutely would have.
"Time to separate the boys from the other boys." Captain Marvel I love you.
"Okay this is why I love it. You've heard of Santa, right?" HULK HE'S CENTRAL TO THE FUCKING PLOT, MAN
Reptil, aren't you cold in that t-shirt? Are you able to regulate your body heat?
Why is Loki's only power this damn scepter? Marvel, Stop De-powering Your Cunning God with a Talent for Magic Challenge
Why is Mount Jolly the only name you're using the English sound for the letter J with? Shouldn't it be Mount "Yolly"?
Is Loki's heart gonna grow three sizes? I hope so
"Go easy. We're on the same side." CAP you THREW A SHIELD at them. FIRST.
The b-plot is Thor and Hulk encouraging a random shop owner named Nick to steal Santa's identity (but like, the plot twist is 100% gonna be that he's pulling a Miracle on 34th Street and Nicky Boy is actually Santa).
"The greater the youth, the greater the truth." I CANNOT believe we've reduced (ha. reduced) the light elves to fucking Santa's helpers.
"Evil doesn't observe holidays." CAP. First of all, LAME. Second of all, Loki isn't evil. Third of all, IT'S BECAUSE LOKI ISN'T CHRISTIAN.
Okay so now that they're in the Arctic, Reptil is cold. Why wasn't he cold in the ice cave on Alfheim?
Cap just like waltzed into Santa's house. I don't think he even knocked.
Mrs. Claus drives like a Floridian retiree and she's almost given Rocket a heart attack twice
NOW THE AVENGERS ARE DRINKING SANTA'S COCOA WHEN HE'S NOT THERE
Cap has the SADDEST Christmas story ever.
I spoke too soon. Tony's is the saddest. Obviously he's in the "seeing is believing" camp.
ILLUSION MAGIC FINALLY
Tumblr media
I have my new phone background.
I'M DYING. Loki's got Reptil and is holding the scepter to his head. And Cap is like, "You won't do it" and Loki's like, "Yes, I will!" And Thor's like, "End this madness, brother" and Loki's like, "Oh, I'm about to!" And THEN Reptil JUST! slips out under Loki's arm!! He wasn't even holding the kid that hard!!! I'M CACKLING
LISTEN. I've seen pandaredd's video about Santa. I know he's OP as all hell. I FORGOT. He just showed up and Loki fired magic (from the scepter AGAIN) at him. And he barely moved at all! He just swiped the magic away with the back of his hand like he was SHOOING A FLY. WHAT THE HELL
Loki: *gasps* You can control space-time.
Santa: And you can be nice, Loki.
I'M LOSING IT I'M CACKLING SO HARD I'M GOING TO LOSE MY VOICE.
SANTA PLEASE SAY HE NEEDS TO GO HOME AND WRITE "I am very sorry for what I did to the Avengers" a hundred zillion times.
"The power of Santa Claus, all mine!" NEVER thought I'd hear a Loki say that
So far everything he's done with Santa's power he was already able to do. Use your imagination Loki, c'mon!
We packed the cheesy, obligatory Christmas movie lines into the last ten minutes.
Oh, and Groot turned into a fir tree somehow.
I should have saved this as a Christmas post.

Relax - Thor x Autistic!Reader
Tumblr media
You were nervous when Tony informed you and the Avengers that he will held a fancy party, even though he knew that you don't like being closer to his friends that are strangers for you.
Your boyfriend, god of thunder Thor knew that you have an Autism, and respected that, when someone say that people with Autism are weird in front of him, he would hold his Mjolnir or Stormbreaker as his eyes lighten up with electricity as his weapon and say "If you say that one more time, I will fry you with lightning, you should respect them even they are different, but they are people, unlike you they are perfect from who they are!".
It always melt your heart when you hear it, he was a sweet, kind, caring and cute, almost like a golden retriever, everytime you say that you hate being yourself he tell you "My beautiful little one, you are perfect even when you are different, you are unique in many ways" you are happy to have Thor as your beloved boyfriend who will always take care of you in the bad days of yours.
He loves to share with you his favorite Midgardian snacks that are Pop-Tarts and he even let you play with his hair and let you braid his hair, your touch in his hair have him relaxed and hummed, when he notices that you are trying to pick up his hammer, he secretly holds the top of his hammer and lift it, just to see your beautiful smile and always say "You are worthy, even worthy of my love"
When Thor noticed you getting nervous about the party, he knew how to cheer you up, when you walk to your room, he will follow you and wait for some minutes so you could think that he walked to you after you get to your room.
Thor knocked on the door and say "May I come in my little one?" when he woulf not recieve a reply he slowly open the door to see you sitting in your bed with your knees closer to your head, his heart would break to see you like that.
He walked to your bed and sit next to you "Little one, no one is forcing you to go to Mr. Stark's party, if you want I could stay with you in your room or my room and relax, like we always do" he waited for you to speak or look at him, but you were quiet and stayed in your position.
Thor looked sad "I understand, I let you alone to think, okay Little one?" when he started to get up from the bed, he felt you grab his hand, he looked at you and see a smile on your face "I want to relax with you in your room my golden retriever" he blushed at the nickname, making you giggle, he smiled as he saw your beautiful smile.
He holds you in his arms and leads you two to his room and said to F.R.I.D.A.Y. to inform Tony that you two can't attend the party, he layed you on his giant bed, and sit next to you, he placed your head on his lap and smiled softly "Do you want a massage Little one?" you nodded and said "yes please, with a song" as you closed your eyes.
He chuckled and massaged your forehead as he sang an Asgardian lullaby, he smiled as you hummed the song with him, he was happy that the love of his life, you, is happy as him.

Just got back from L&T. Thoughts under the cut. But first, a pic of my girl (sorry, I mean, Your Majesty 👑):
Tumblr media
So I have a few negatives to talk about but let's start with the positives.
The scene with Thor and Zeus when he's trying to convince him to join him against Gorr reminded me so much of his talk with Odin in TDW. At some point I thought they were trying to draw some parallels... but honestly I don't know if it's just me seeing things when there's nothing. Either way, I liked it.
Thor's speech to the kids towards the end was touching.
Val handling King duties and enjoying it was lovely to see.
Jane explaining the Einstein-Rosen bridge while under chemo. She was never boring and that enthusiasm is contagious. "You just destroyed your book!" - "Yeah! But now you understand wormholes!". She's lovely and I'll miss her.
Heimdall! My beloved. Only for 10 seconds but hey, I'll take whatever they give me, I love that man. Shorter hair too!
And this is something between a positive and a negative: I like that Thor said to Quill something in the lines of (I'm paraphrasing here): "You have a team that cares for each other, I never had that". I actually liked it because from what we've seen in the movies he had 4 friends who seemed to follow him and look up to him but we never saw him having a deep conversation with them, to me they were more party/battle friends than anything and Thor always stroked me as a very lonely person despite being a prince. Not to mention the Avengers never truly showed any interest, let alone compassion, especially in EG. So that line is interesting to keep in the movie...... that is, if you do something with it. But they just had him say it then ignored it for the rest of the movie. It's such a lost opportunity. Imagine Thor shit-talking the Avengers and setting the record straight after EG... if only.
Now, the negatives.
I don't understand all this talk about worthiness. If Ragnarok was supposed to teach Thor and the audience anything is that being worthy is utterly meaningless! Lifting Mjolnir was always entirely subjective, reliant on a bunch of rules dictated by a deeply flawed character like Odin. Thor is supposed to know he doesn't need that hammer or the axe or anybody's approval. He's the golden child, if he doesn't learn that then his arc keeps going in circles, and round and round it goes. It makes no sense.
I can't believe 2 movies in since she was introduced and my girl Val does not get a name. I appreciate people calling her Val but surely she's got a name, right? And her horse? I'll say this though: I don't remember them giving him a name but I'm grateful, if they call him anything but Aragorn my URL is truly fucked 😜
Why bring Sif back? She's the LAST connection Thor has to his old life. I was so happy to see her again since I genuinely thought he was going to lose it or they were gonna have some chat or something, but nah, they share one scene that's eerily similar to Thor 1 and they're good to go.
Once again character development is done in a rushed one-minute sequence. I watch these movies because I care about these characters, if that means you add 25 minutes to the damn movie then do so. If that means you cut a few fights then do so.
Thor realizing he wants and needs love is nice but giving him a kid is not the way to go, that's giving him someone to care for when he should be caring ABOUT AND FOR HIMSELF.
What kind of relationships does he have with Val and the others? A bunch of scenes with the Guardians and all I saw were screams and nothing more when that team is more a family than anything else, they wouldn't go about it like the Avengers (battle together then each member goes their own way), the Guardians care.
I would have wanted to see how the Asgardians are adapting to Earth or a bit more from New Asgard. Jane gets a statue, that's cool, no statues for anybody else though?
Oh the """queer rep""".... we were told she would look for her Queen but of course that didn't happen, I wish I could say I'm surprised but I'm not. And she doesn't even get to say anything, it's Korg who says "girlfriend" and leaves it at that? You know what, it's far worse to have this, I'd rather not have anything. If this is as far as they're willing to go please STOP. Everyone is straight, that's easier to digest.
Also, it's so fucking annoying to see people erasing her identity and saying she's a lesbian. No she isn't, Valkyrie is bisexual. We have enough bi erasure as it is, don't contribute to it.
And speaking of my girl... where the fuck is her arc? She gets no story, her pegasus is only on screen a couple times, she seems to be enjoying being a King so why not show that and how she's growing from being a warrior raised to kill to becoming someone trustworthy who loves her people and learns the humans' rules so she can defend them? Also she's still not redeemed, she has never said anything about how she feels after being raised to kill and commit genocide, how she felt about Odin (when Gorr was telling her I was almost begging! for her to speak up). I will admit I jumped when she was stabbed though. I may have a weird definitely non-healthy attachment to her lol
The problem about introducing new and powerful cities and weapons while Feige keeps parroting all that bs about "connected universe" is that it makes previous movies absolutely useless. So Thor knew about Omnipotent City? Why not go there in IW instead of Nidavellir then? Once you open the portal to Eternity why not kill Gorr and ask for anything...
Gorr the God Butcher who's shown on-screen killing the crazy amount of......... one god in the entire movie. So much for butchering.
"Lady Thor", "the name is Mighty Thor or Dr Jane Foster", I knew she was going to say that. Way too forced. You want feminism, Marvel? Flesh out the female characters and stop giving them the suits and powers of their male counterparts.
And lastly, what Mjolnir means to Thor. What that hammer represents is his past, his family, the time when stability was ensured and he had everything he wished for, back in the day when he didn't know the lies and what was hiding underneath the golden palace and his father's machinations. His attachment to Mjolnir in reality what it hides is his subconscious desire to go back to that time, which is exactly why he should despise that hammer! Not through hate for Hela but disappointment and anger towards his father.
All I keep seeing in these movies is Thor not growing up or out of his golden child status and I HATE IT. And it seems the only way they know to make characters "grow" is by giving them a romance or a kid... these characters need self-love, how is it possible that these writers and directors don't understand that familial, romantic, etc love is not the same as self-love? That you can have a million people who love you and still not love yourself?
Overall this is clearly the worst Thor movie for me, worse than Ragnarok, and I give it a 4/10 and I'm being generous (3,5 of those are for Val 😂). I still love Thor though, there are.... flashes of his old self and while short they remind me why I've always been a big fan of his.
Thor honey, you deserve so much more than this.

Tumblr media
The thrill of proposing to his beloved soon washed away as Thor and Loki appeared on the island as far north as Asgard could go.
Loki stared at the huge trees and the overgrown grass. If you had told someone that this place had once been a well-sought-out attraction for Aesir wanting to get away from daily Asgardian life, they wouldn’t believe you anymore. Barely any Aesir spoke of this place after Odin spread rumours of a vicious beast running through the woods of the getaway. Odin told everyone that Fenrir was a monster and if anyone were unlucky enough to come face to face with the beast, they would not live to tell the tale.
The trees reached to Valhalla as Thor and Loki walked, having to cover their mouths to prevent unknown insects from getting into them. They knew that this place had been left abandoned just as it was. A holiday house still stacked with food and serene water surrounding the whole island. If someone wanted to live here, they might enjoy it. Except, of course, if you had to live here long past its decay. Fenrir Lokison lived among these tall trees, chained to a rock with the strongest metal made by the dwarves of Niðavellir. An impressive banishment for a beast but not for a child of merely ten in the eyes of Midgardians.
A rustle of leaves to their left gave Thor and Loki pause. For one, they knew that they did not bring any Einherjar on this quest. Second, they knew without a doubt that no animals lived on this island after all being eaten by Fenrir in just over sixty years of his banishment. So, his son was here, and he was close. Loki summoned the scissors that he had found in Odin’s room that would free his son from banishment and he bit his lip as he stared ahead.
A snarl from their right made Thor lift Mjolnir and charge into the treeline leaving Loki on his own. Sighing, the younger Prince took in the sounds around him, and he refused to feel fear for his son as he continued down the path that looked like it had been trekked numerous times. Fenrir had come across this path in his centuries of waiting. Loki felt a pang of guilt as he imagined his beautiful son slowly driven mad by such isolation.
One moment, Loki knew he was standing on two feet and the next, he was tackled to the floor by a humungous wolf.
“Fenrir, my darling?” Loki stared up into the snarled jaws of the fabled beast that roamed this island. His beloved son, his beloved Fenrir was standing on top of him, paws pressed into Loki’s small chest. He had grown to become the size of the trees on all four paws and Loki didn’t even want to find out how big his eldest son was when stood on his hind legs.
The lone wolf glared down at his father before tilting its head curiously and sniffing him, recognising the scent of a man that he thought was merely a dream for the eight hundred years that he had been stolen. He had come to think that his father would never come to rescue him but now... this scent was his father. He had come after so long!
Stroking a loving hand over the fur of Fenrir’s cheek, Loki frowned and looked up into the green eyes of the first son that Angrboða had blessed him with. He had never wanted his son to suffer. He had wanted to watch Fenrir grow and thrive on Asgard with his brothers as Loki had done with Thor; that would’ve been his ideal life.
Fenrir wanted to be hugged by his father, he was so close to him for the first time in a few hundred years! Sniffing the small Asgardian, Fenrir confirmed that this small man beneath him was his father. His father had once been bigger than him! He had wanted to stay with his father more than anything and now, they were reunited! Whining, the large dog got off his father and walked over to a large cave entrance with his massive tail swaying with his excitement. Loki followed, laughing at the eagerness of his son.
Entering the cave, Loki saw how Fenrir had scratched into the walls for every year that he had been trapped here. Sighing, Loki strode over to the bottom of the chain, unleashed the scissors that could cut him free and snapped the chain in half. The moment he was free, Fenrir howled with excitement and bounded from the cave and into the treeline, lost to the silence of the forests. Thor emerged from the treeline shortly after to see his little brother standing at the mouth of the cave with a sad smile.
“Is something wrong, brother?” Thor asked and Loki didn’t even look at Thor as he frowned deeply, staring longingly out into the darkness of the trees.
Sighing, Loki patted Thor’s shoulder and smiled softly as he started walking down the old path leading to the docks that were once too far for Fenrir to reach with the chains. When they arrived, they saw Fenrir waiting eagerly for them, sat on the land just next to the small dock with his tail wagging happily as he looked down at Loki expectantly. With a soft smile, Loki walked over to his son and held out his hand, a soft brush of fur against his palm was all that it took to turn his son into his human form.
The young boy fell into his father’s expecting arms and was easily sleeping the moment that he hit the firm chest of the man who helped bring him to life. Loki sighed in relief and held the young boy to him with a tired smile, relieved to have his first son safely in his care once more. Hundreds of years had led to this moment and Loki savoured it, picking up the young boy and climbing aboard a boat that was waiting for them. Loki would bring Fenrir to meet you and then, they would be off to Midgard for you to continue your rule and for Loki to find Jörmungandr.
Thor watched as Loki cradled the small boy and smiled gently when he realised that this was his true brother, unguarded and a loving father under all the armour he had built over the years. Thor would give anything to see that smile on Loki’s face more.
When they arrived back at the Aesir castle, Thor guided Loki into the family quarters where you were laying, Sleipnir draped over your lap dramatically as he had his nose in a book. Loki smiled fondly at the sight of his son and fiancée getting along so well.
Turning your head, you smiled lovingly when you saw Loki stood by the door, Fenrir curled lovingly in his strong arms. Reaching a tired hand out, you smiled happily as Loki walked over, “my handsome prince!”
Loki chuckled and kissed your knuckles before holding your delicate hands, admiring the artwork done to your nails. They were a forest green with a golden Yggdrasil on the middle finger and the branches reaching out to wrap around the other nails until they delicately swirled to a stop at the bottom of the nails.
“Did you and our son have fun?” Loki asked as he left your side to lay Fenrir on the sofa beside the fire, admiring how the orange glow lit up his son’s face perfectly to show all the features that he had inherited so much from himself. He could also see the images of Angrboða in his son. His nose, his chin, the shape of his eyes… everything like that belonged to Angrboða’s genes was prominent. However, everything else that Fenrir had belonged to Loki Laufeyson.
You sighed and sprawled yourself out on the sofa, a hand lying atop the barely noticeable bump of your stomach, “it went great. Sleipnir has been a bit of a menace but he now knows that you and I are having a little one so he’s excited but also a bit jealous.”
Humming to show you that he wasn’t ignorant, Loki turned his attention to the dying embers of the fire, adding a few more logs, and blowing on the flame so that it might burn brighter. When it did, Loki turned to look at you with a soft smile and shrugged, “that sounds like a Lokison if I ever did hear one.”
A soft mumble came from beside you and Loki stood instantly, picking Sleipnir up and spinning with him carefully so that the child would not become nauseated from the spin, “mummy’s home, little one.”
Sleipnir opened his eyes and smiled brightly at his mummy, wrapping his arms around his neck and nuzzling close to Loki’s body for his warmth. His beloved son was amazing in every way and Loki knew that when the time came, his son would become one of the most powerful mages of his sons and the deadliest warrior.
Kneeling beside Fenrir, his youngest in his arms, Loki gently shook his eldest sons arm and smiled brightly when he lazily opened one eye to question what Loki wanted when he saw his littlest brother.
“Well, aren’t you a surprise?” Fenrir smiled and looked to Loki for permission before picking Sleipnir up and studying him with keen interest, admiring how much Sleipnir resembled Loki even more than Fenrir did. In that moment, Fenrir realised that this child was his newest one to protect, “what’s your name, littlest brother?”
Sleipnir watched his big brother with keen curiosity before a bright smile lit up on his face, “Sleipnir Lokison! You? How you know mummy?”
Fenrir looked confused for a moment before seeing Loki pointing to himself with an amused smile. That was a question to be asked later on, then. “Ah, I see! Well, littlest brother, I am Fenrir Lokison. I am the first born!”
Sleipnir let out the cutest squeal when he realised that one of his big brothers had been brought home and he cuddled close to the boy, his head rested comfortably on the boy’s shoulder as he smiled up at him, “hi! Mummy always talked about you and I’m so glad you’re home!! Mummy is too, right mummy?”
That made both boys look to the God of Mischief, who was on his knees behind them furiously wiping tears from his eyes as he watched his beloved children bonding together. This was all that the God had wanted in his life, his children together for the first time. They were going to be together for the first time and this time, Odin wasn’t around to meddle. “I’m just so happy that everyone is finally coming together!”
“Oh father, please don’t cry,” Fenrir sniffled and shuffled off the sofa and into Loki’s arms with his littlest brother still in his own. “Father, we wanted to come back for so long... we didn’t want to go; we don’t blame you either... We were taken, I’m assuming, on Odin’s orders. Damn that man for dying before I could sink my teeth into his...”
“Fenrir Lokison!” you piped up, glaring over at the eldest son of Loki, “Never speak that name. Especially not in front of your little brother. Please, Sleipnir suffered the most.”
Fenrir nodded gingerly and held Sleipnir on his lap as he cuddled up to Loki with a gentle smile. The young prince was happy as he could be when in his father’s arms. Then, he looked up again at you, “wait... you’re not my mother. Where’s mama?”
Loki frowned as he looked at Fenrir, hating that he had to talk about this so soon, “let’s not discuss this right now, ok? This is not for little ears...”
That gave all the clues that Fenrir needed, and he pushed away from Loki, tenderly sitting Sleipnir on the couch before walking onto the balcony and gripping the edge tight, tears falling down his cheeks. His mother was dead. His father was here and had saved him from his fate to die on that blasted island. But mama was dead so what use was there to live?
A gentle hand was placed on the boy’s shoulder and he looked over at you with a frown, allowing you to envelop him in a hug and he bawled into your shirt, the tears dampening your shirt though you were uncaring to the fact.
“It’s alright now, Fenrir, I have you. You’re safe and we will put this family back together again,” you mumbled, and Fenrir nodded, finally feeling safe for the first time since his banishment.
You watched the eldest Lokison in contemplation, knowing that now that Fenrir knew Angrboða was dead, he wouldn’t want you to replace his original mother.
Fenrir, hearing your silence and understanding you almost instantly, hugged you tighter and nuzzled his head further into your chest, “I’ll heal. Sleipnir has healed and so has father apparently. You are a perfect fit for him, Y/N, not as quiet as mother was. You have fire and it ignites whenever you come to a challenge, I can smell it. Your child with father will also be a very special one, like me and my siblings.”
They remained on the balcony for a while after that, talking and bonding like mother and son. Fenrir confided to you how he was almost insane after his banishment to that island, but he felt like he would be able to heal if given the proper help by his father and the rest of the family. Loki watched them while sitting beside the fire and reading stories to Sleipnir.
In the middle of the night, a storm was brewing over the beautiful city of Asgard. Thor was still grieving for the loss of King Odin, after all. He had been bringing storms since the day Odin died, keeping it bottled inside only for the storm to blow up while he was asleep.
Loki had learned to ignore the storms that his brother brought, knowing that his own therapist would be helping the man be able to come to terms with Odin’s death and his instant claiming of the throne. Asgard needed to look strong and so, Thor was blocking away his emotions until he was breaking.
A lightning bolt flashed in Sleipnir’s room, and the thunder sounded not even half a second afterwards. The young boy jolted awake with a yelp and tears rushed into his eyes. The child was tempted to go bother his mummy and complain to him about how he had been woken up but even Sleipnir knew that if that happened, Thor would not make it another day. King or not.
So, hesitantly, Sleipnir slipped out of bed and tip-toed down the hallway to where Fenrir had been given his own room; the castle adjusting itself to house another room in Loki’s grand apartment.
Slowly sliding the door open, Sleipnir slipped into his brother’s room and walked over to the bed. When he got to the bed, he raised a shaking hand and shook Fenrir until the boy awoke, “Fenny! Fenny, I need you…”
Half asleep, Fenrir glared down at Sleipnir before sighing and lighting the candle on his bedside table, sitting up in bed and pulling Sleipnir onto the soft mattress with him, “what bothers you, little brother? Is it the storm?”
Lip trembling, Sleipnir nodded and whimpered softly, crawling onto his brother’s knees and cuddling up to him. Still shocked but nonetheless concerned, Fenrir brought his littlest brother into his arms and swayed side to side while gently stroking his nails against the little boy’s hair. Fenrir remembered this comfort from when he was just a little pup, Loki on one side of him and Angrboða holding him on her knee. His father seemed so happy with Angrboða and he knew that deep down, he still must even if she had been dead for centuries.
“Fenny?” Sleipnir mumbled and Fenrir smiled, moving the hand in the boy’s hair down to his cheek to wipe away the tears, “do you think we’ll be a full family again?”
That made Fenrir pause his motions of comfort. He wanted to have his full family, he wanted to meet his full family! However, they were banished to numerous places in the Realms. Loki wanted to find them all and bring them home, but it would take years to rehabilitate them all after so long of being on their own. The only reason Fenrir was only slightly insane was that he held onto a memory of his family. The others, he’d wager, didn’t have strong memories of family.
“I want us all to come home, Sleipnir. Father deserves that much... we were all stolen from him so early and I know that he’s terrified it’ll happen again. Sleipnir, please promise me something... promise me that no matter what, you will always welcome our family home,” Fenrir looked down at his brother, who nodded and curled back into Fenrir’s embrace.
Sleipnir didn’t even notice the storm outside the castle anymore, too busy enjoying the comfort that his biggest brother could give him. He knew that Fenrir was attached to him, wanting to protect him just as much as Loki did. Sleipnir was happy to have such loyal family members.
Just outside the door, a proud parent smiled at the two of them and returned to his fiancée in bed. He was happy to have his family. Happy to have his fiancée.  Happy to finally, finally, be free.
