I plan on making a faux Pachmayr Combat Special in .38 Super next year. I'll definitely post pics when it's done. Basically a hard chromed frame, black Moly resin slide, Wilson Combat parts including their adjustable Battlesight rear and a gold bead front. About the only thing actually Pachamyr is going to be the grips. Going for the wraparound-no finger grooves. Will save me money on checkering the front strap. 😉

We in the gun community are nazis about firearm safety. It’s so engrained into our psyche I don’t even put my finger on the trigger of toy gun. If you mess around and take a picture with your finger on the trigger of a real gun the gun community will destroy you! We take safety seriously. _____ Every person I’ve ever taught the 4 rules of gun safety picked it up in minutes! Imagine if we focused on building an entire nation around the idea of gun safety instead of, “guns are bad, m’kay’. ? _____

.357 SIG. Available since 1994. One of if not THE most underrated and underappreciated defensive rounds out there. Even @sigsauerinc @sigsauerusa is dropping the availability down to just a few of their models. As of today, two 1911's, the 229 (also as a Legion), and the 320. It used to also be available in the 226, 2022, 239 and a few more 1911 variants. Their first model it was chambered in was the P229. I guess as long as it stays an option in that fantastic pistol then I suppose I could live with that. But it's still pretty sad that the manufacturer who created the round seems to be in the process of abandoning it. Apart from some custom 1911 manufacturers the only other company making guns in this amazing round is Glock (G31,32 & 33). So no matter what SIG does, the round is not dying. Let's be clear. Underwood 125 grain bonded (Gold Dot) runs out of a G32's 4" barrel at around 1,550 fps. That's 666 foot pounds of muzzle energy. That's magnum class. Sure, it will recoil more than standard loads but it's still manageable. Even though I like, appreciate and trust 9mm and .40 S&W, I prefer .357 SIG to either of those two cartridges. One last Brownells Customer Sunday Gunday with Danny Moore & his Dan Wesson 1911 collection! “I have always liked the 1911 platform, and back in 2009 I was able to get my very first really good one. I found a Dan Wesson CCO with the serial number 17. I got the idea to try to get another Dan Wesson with the same serial number the following year. I contacted the factory and eventually ended up with a Guardian 9mm, serial number 17. The year after, I tried to get a Guardian 45 with same 17 number, but it wasn’t possible. The factory guys got me number 417, instead. My fourth 17 was a Dan Wesson ECO. I call them my “Number 17 Family.” I put custom grips on three, and got really nice carry leather for them all. As long as I am able, these four guns will remain together. Hopefully the next owner will be able to keep the family together, too.”
