See? You’re such a nice person. ^_^ That’s some very reassuring and kind words. I’m sure that is so very comforting to a lot of people! (It was to me~) I’ve had my art/ideas/ships mocked or called stupid before, so thank you.

I had some of my fanart that wasn’t explicit deleted. I was so saddened by the process that I didn’t bother to rescue some of it. ^^; In a lot of ways, I don’t want to post or build up my blog again because I just don’t want to support Tumblr. That purge was incredibly hurtful to some trans friends of mine. But, at the same time, there are so many great people on here who deserve to have comments on their amazing stuff. At least a like to show some kind of support.

When I saw your message, I couldn’t just stand by and let you think poorly of yourself. I wanted to let you know that your art and kindness means a lot to someone. For such a huge show, sometimes the fandom can feel small. I feel like we all just get a little quiet sometimes. ^^

I have quite the fun story on One Piece~ I actually got into the show over the very terrible 4Kids dub. I was in elementary school and I LOVED One Piece. It was the first show I ever loved. I loved to see a show that had a plot that kept going. Most American tv cartoons had one shot plots for every episode. But anime? (Didn’t know it was anime at the time) The plot kept going! If you missed an episode, you were so out of sorts! The first ones I came across were Sailor Moon and Dragon Ball. They were wonderful. Goku was the first character I adored~ But when Luffy popped out of that barrel in One Piece? I was head over heels. I was completely taken by his bright, happy attitude. His blunt nature. His kindness and his casual observations. Even how he could be childishly cruel when he felt like it. He was just a joy to follow on an adventure. I was always eager to see him on tv after school~ My mom and I would sing the pirate rap theme song on the way home from school. I still have it memorized. XD

We’ve always been quite poor, so we didn’t always have tv. Years went by and I lost touch with One Piece. Til I came across a random episode’s ending when we got tv again. And, amazingly enough, it was the end of Ace’s introduction. Luffy saying “He’s my brother~!” And I was in awe all over again. The episodes were sporadic and hard to catch by that point. Sometimes coming on late. Sometimes not on the same days. It was the dark days of One Piece on American tv. I lost touch with it again. And I live in a very rural/country area. I was in high school when the local book store got a manga section for the first time. It only had the first few books for One Piece and I used my birthday money to snatch them up right away~ I had forgotten some things because I very much thought the show would end after Sanji’s Baratie arc. XD I thought it was such a short manga~ I was happily surprised when I looked it up online to order more books and found out. Oh, I would snatch up new books brought out to the store whenever I had some money saved up~ It was so hard to get my hands on it back then! And, a couple of years later, I had good enough internet that I looked up episodes online. I couldn’t find a good English dub at the time(nostalgia couldn’t help how bad the 4Kids dub was. XDDD), so I tried out Japanese with subtitles. Now?  I wouldn’t be able to watch One Piece any other way(though, loads of respect to the new dubbing team, of course). Luffy’s voice actress is the best. :’ ) An absolute joy to listen to~ She perfectly captures him!

The first time I looked up ships, I liked LuNami and ZoLu. Unfortunately, it was QUITE an old time in the fandom and the fanfictions weren’t the best. Nothing really drew me in. When I was watching random clips and getting back into One Piece the latest time, I found out sooo many spoilers. The one on Ace broke my heart and I couldn’t stand the idea of watching the scene. :’ ) But, what captured my heart was stumbling across a clip of Luffy as a kid. More kid Luffy adventures? Count me in!!! I saw Sabo and was like ????? But, I quickly adored him. And was also devastated when I found out he’d “died.” I just wanted more of the three boys. :’ ) And what do I find whilst looking for fun content? An AceXLuffy video boasting a showing of ALL their fanart. I remember being amused at the time thinking “I know they’re  not related, but I’m not going to ship that~” I saw all the cute and funny fanart and by the end of the video I was definitely interested. I went off to fanfiction, found a random Acelu, and was blow away by @angelrider13 The Pure and the Tainted. It was everything I could have ever wanted out of a fanfic. <3 And it still breaks my heart how much their fanfiction was stolen from them. Their good time in the fandom blemished by some mean people. Why, angelrider13 even, kindly, dedicated a fic to me. It was one of the best feelings ever~

And I fell for Sabo so hard that I refused to even consider the idea that he’d be left behind or forgotten in the Ace/Luffy relationship. In fact, I was SO SURE he was alive. I’d argue it all the time. XD And, hilariously, argued him being alive quite passionately with a list of reasons on how it was just good writing that he be alive *the day before Sabo returned to the manga!* My friend spoiled me hardcore on everything and I was like “I knew it! I KNEW IT!” Oh, it was a wonderful time~ <3 And, also hilariously, I have been spoiled for every major moment in all of One Piece. And every moment STILL hit me horrendously. Which taught me that if your writing still hits hard even when someone can see it coming, then it is good writing and not just a lazy twist. A very good lesson for my writing in my career. ^__^

The very wonderful @itssygis is the one who encouraged me to post in the fandom and gave me the confidence to do more than lurk. And One Piece has a way about it that just makes so many pairings look amazing~ There are ones I don’t like, but there just so many wonderful things to see! ASL is the one for me, but Luffy with practically anyone is so good! ToT And, I tend to really like top! or switch!Luffy~ *wink* Bottom!Luffy is great, too, naturally~ I just adore the old argument between the three of them:

Ace: “I’m older, so you have to listen to me.” Sabo: “Now I’m taller so you have to listen to me~” Luffy: “You guys gotta listen to me!” Ace/Sabo: “You’re not older or taller Luffy.” :/ Luffy: *thinking before unleashing a super big grin* “I’m the only one here who’s a captain!” Ace, Second in Command: *jaw drops* Sabo, Chief of Staff: *jaw drops* Luffy, Strawhat Captain and future King of the Pirates: “Shishishi~”

(I also love poly ships across many fandoms. I’ve never been one for fighting or love triangles.)

Hello! So, I've been a big fan of Ace/Sabo/Luffy(one of my all-time favorite relationships ever!) and Luffy harem stuff for many, many years. I've always been rather shy about approaching people. Especially after some fandom rudeness in the past. But, I've been wanting to say for a while how much I love your art and the charisma you bring. So positive and fun. The last tumblr purge made me withdraw. I lost a lot of good friends. But, I wanted to be a person who could say you're awesome. ^^

Just a general FYI for everyone new here, but I promise on this blog I will NEVER 1) be rude to you due to your ships, WHATEVER they are, regardless of how “problematic” they may be, 2) same with kinks/tropes. I will also never ship/chara bash. I certainly have ships that I favor much more than others, but I literally don’t have a single ship I actually dislike, only those I’m not interested in, and even for those if it’s what YOU like, I have nothing but support for you!

And I’m so sorry that you lost good friends ;_; I lost my blog, and when I came back after two months of fighting, I felt like most of my community was gone. I like to think there’s still hope of building community again but, I’ve been pretty unsuccessful so far ^ ^;

I’ve read OP since I was in HS, so this is sort of a return to this fandom for me! BUT back then I didn’t make content, and now I do, so I’m happy I get to draw these boys! I have a ridiculously strong bias for the ASL boys, they’re such a good OT3, but in general I like bottom!Lu with practically anyone ^ ^; (and Everyone x Protagonist endgame polyamory is very, VERY consistent for me across fandoms ^ ^;)

I was listening to some Pebble and the Penguin songs and had some Nigel/Aiden feels, sooo I just had to draw them as Hubie and Marina. I got off track with needing to drawing Nigel’s infamous doggie shirt~ But, I loved the rose too much in Aiden’s hair to get rid of it. ^o^

Thank you so much for asking me some questions, dear!

4)favorite character you’ve written

In my original stories, I really love them all. All differentones, it is an honor that they popped from my head and work with me on makingtheir stories exist~

In fanfiction, I would have to say the characters I’veenjoyed working with the most have been Sabo and Luffy from One Piece and Aidenfrom Blood and Chocolate.

I tend to love super happy/fluffy characters that have atouch of darkness/tragedy/depth to them. I love the happy fluff for giving mehope and entertaining me for a fun time and I like the other bits to theircharacters because it is intriguing to write about. Sabo is sophisticated andelegant while being over-the-top and wordy(comes with being a writer~). But, hecan still be goofy and silly. He is kind and compassionate and nurturing aswell as manipulative and ruthless and psychologically impacted. Writing for himis fun and comes easily to me. Luffy is hard to write for, but his simplisticperspective while still being wise and insightful is fun to balance. Plus, youcan get some wild and hilarious stuff going writing in his view of things~! AndAiden has a little mix of both of them that makes him so fun to write. He is acreative person who is sassy and silly while being supportive and kind. He hasa lot going on in his past that is fun to delve into. An abuse victim andrunaway is a lot to explore. But, his(and Luffy’s) happy outlook on life iswhat makes him/them so fun to write. ^^

14) doyou make playlists for your current wips?

Not exaaaaactly. I have songs in mind for moments in mystories and for characters in my original stories. Songs that describe who theyare and their feelings on things. I get vibes of songs similarly in fanfiction,too, though.

Like, I love Fight Song being used with Will and Aiden. OrRoar. Many songs about being a survivor, struggling, or shouting out loud to betaken seriously and believing in yourself.

I have a headcanon that Aiden and Nigel love Scooby Doo andAiden can sing the original tune and the Simple Plan version. And Nigel isdelighted by such.

I’ve listened to a lot of classically “Southern” songs fromAmerica for a story that features Aiden and Will growing up in Louisiana(ashalf-brothers). I imagine Talk Dirty to Me with Aiden because I don’t think hepicks up languages very well, but I think he’s managed to make his way throughother countries just fine. XD Does Your Mother Know from Mamma Mia withNigel/Aiden relationship. St. Elmos Fire, Man in Motion for Aiden runningthrough the woods in Blood and Chocolate. Playing With The Big Boys from Princeof Egypt for when Aiden gets in over his head. Dude Looks Like a Lady for a storyof mine where Aiden is a crossdresser. Get Ready to Die for Hannibal and Willfull on Murder Husband-ing. Boys Boys Boys for Adam Towers. Hungry Like theWolf on Aiden’s side of things because that is just appropriate. XD Perfect Dayfor Aiden’s cheery outlook on things. I Will Survive. For Hannibal, I tend tolike cheerful/happy/peppy music because he’s just so happy about so much and Ilove that. Or super dramatic opera or classical. For Nigel, I have a lot oflove songs I like for him. Or songs about getting through things and being happy.Like, I love I’m a Believer for him. Or You Raise Me Up. All I Want is You.

I go randomly all over the place when it comes to seekinginspiration. XD

I’m with you. Nigel beats Charlie every. single. time. Buuuuut . . . 

I weigh in rather differently than most when it comes to the Charlie situation, I think. At the beginning of the movie, I truly felt for Charlie. I wanted things to get better for him. I’m sure plenty of us know what it is like to mess up and suck at things. To not know what we’re doing or how to handle anything. It’s equally relateable and frustrating to see someone mess up so much. 

As the movie went on, excuse my language, my rage increased to “You’re a fucking idiot, Charlie.” You get to a point where you want him to get some sense slapped into him. And I get where all the “Nigel over Charlie” stuff comes from with having such a “bad hero” and such a “good villain.” I mean, Charlie comes into a situation with no idea what he’s doing. He steps in on another man’s wife. He doesn’t listen. He jumps before he leaps. He thinks he can do more than he can actually do. There’s a lot he does that makes a person upset with him on a basic level. 

And a lot to look at Nigel and feel for him on it. In his perspective, he’s a man who wants to win his wife back because he loves her. That’s a suuuuper understandable thing for the viewer to get as a motive. And some random guy is being a homewrecker? That’s upsetting! You can feel where Nigel’s rage is coming from on that. Take away his job and his issues with Gabi’s father and you have the age-old husband trying to prove himself to his wife. He gruff, rough, curses, violent, all number of bad things, but he’s a romantic at heart. Emotional, vulnerable, and hurting for someone to love him and for him to love them. AND, when push came to shove, he let Gabi chose what she wanted. Let her make the final choice because he knew if he decided for her, he’d lose her. He didn’t beat her or emotionally abuse her, despite his temper. Gabi wasn’t afraid of Nigel. And Nigel complimented Gabi and thought the world of her. And Gabi still thinks well of Nigel. Her breaking away from him wasn’t about his character, but a question of morals. All of that is SUPER relateable to an audience, no matter his crimes. And very redeeming. It’s no wonder people love Nigel and feel for him and want better things for him!

But, I always look at Gabi’s feelings on this. She doesn’t want to be with Nigel anymore. Even if she still has feelings for him, she can’t and won’t deal with his lifestyle anymore. She changed and grew away from him and that’s okay! It’s totally understandable why she would feel the way she feels. She has morality on the line in her decision. Her own line in the sand. And Nigel trying to push or not give up only makes it worse. If he were willing to give up his line of work, they might have had a shot at working things out. But, at the same time, he’s made a name for himself and has a career and it is a lot to ask someone to drop their whole life. It makes sense why that isn’t an easy call for him. Or even a choice he sees. 

And Charlie, while being a major fuck up, is there for Gabi when she needs someone to be her support. He doesn’t let her push him away when she obviously needs someone. Pushing isn’t always good, but she was happy to have him and welcomed him instead of Nigel. She could see his flaws and issues, but she still liked him as a person. The biggest sell from the movie that made me believe CharlieXGabi was when she couldn’t stop seeing her dead father in a horrible last image and Charlie helped her remember the good times and get through it. That was a beautiful moment and the best thing he did in the whole movie. The BIG thing he did right. 

That’s why I believe Charlie and Gabi are the better couple moving forward. I doubt they’ll last, but Charlie is her choice and I can see why from her perspective. Just as I can see why we love Nigel and would choose him. 

So, I have a soft spot for Charlie even as a major idiot who needs to think a lot more. I wish him well and I want him to grow a brain, but I don’t hate him or want him dead. But, Nigel is the best and he deserves love and happiness, too. His tragedy and that moment where his heart was in the right place is what I believe makes everyone in the fandom so badly want to make things right for him. He was screwed over, in his perspective, and he was the better person in all ways accept his career and over-emotional outbursts. 

Forever loving Nigel~ Sorry for the long discussion! I just don’t think Charlie deserves to die or have a horrible life just for not being as awesome as Nigel. I write him growing into a better person in my stories and it is startling to see people want me to kill him or have him suffer. I find amusement in Nigel getting to scare him or mess with him a bit, but nothing awful. I don’t know. It’s just something I was interested in discussing and throwing some thoughts out on. ^^

Seriously though...

I mean, I kinda love Nigel. Who doesn’t? He might be a bad boy and yeah maybe what he had with Gabi really wasn’t that healthy but would I choose him over snivelling weirdo Charlie Countryman? In a fucking heartbeat.

I’ve seen two others and both have been done by me. *laughs*  I did one with pairing Death Stranding Mads with Aiden from Blood and Chocolate. The ship was called Death by Chocolate, I think. XD I like that name~

And I’ve been working on one that’ll feature Death Stranding Mads paired with Grigg from The Jane Austen Book Club. Just because I love the idea of him sci-fi nerding out at being transported into a video game or dealing with someone so supernatural~ Not sure at a potential ship name on that one. ^^
