Story description (in the hopes to peak your interest):

In Faireden, the upperclass (known as the "elite") want for nothing. Everything they possess, they do so in excess. This fact has led the elite to begin enviable collections that show their power and status.

What started as collections of jewelry and antiques has changed, however, as the elite attempted to out-do one another. Now, they collect living displays. People, specifically women. As the lowest citizens in Faireden, women can be bought and owned as property without so much as a second-thought (unless the thought concerns how many diamonds will be received as payment).

Yet not every woman is content to live this way simply because it is how it is. Not every woman is content to be viewed as lesser citizens, as less than human.
