Me: *knows I’m asexual but is confused by all the romantic orientations*

Me: Ok. So I can’t be an Aromantic because I have had crushes, but I’m not romantic either because I get repulsed.

“You… You’re breaking up with me?

“Uh, yah, sorry dude,” said Wendy. “I just don’t think we really work out, you know? Um, anyway, I guess I’ll see you around,” she finished awkwardly before walking over to her car. Driving off Wendy thought about how much she hated breaking up with her boyfriends. Well, no, scratch that. She didn’t hate breaking up with them at all. They always ended up getting too clingy, or weird. Yah, honestly it was more annoying than anything, having to break up with them. Wendy just hoped this one got the hint and left her alone. Sometimes the guys she dated had a hard time understanding that, no, she really did not want to date them anymore.

“God, they just need to get over themselves, honestly,” Wendy muttered to herself. She would not feel guilty for this. He wasn’t even that great of a boyfriend! Just because he wasn’t a jerk doesn’t mean that she has to feel bad because she could see his eyes filling with tears as she broke things off. Arriving at her house, Wendy banged her head lightly against the steering wheel. “Damn.” Well, it isn’t as if she hadn’t warned him she was lithromantic. “You get what you pay for dude.” Shaking her head, she gets out of the car and heads toward the house, a grimace on her face.

“Hey, are you busy? I need help with- Oh. Everything OK sweetie?” her dad asked. “How is, uh, hmmm. Is it Bobbie? Robbie?”

“God dad, no! Robbie and I broke up forever ago” said Wendy. Then, grudgingly, “Yah, Bobbie and I broke up.”

“Oh, I’m sorry honey. Is it that lith thing?”

Wendy rolled her eyes. “Yah, something like that. He was just getting too attached you know?”

“I understand sweetie. Don’t worry, you don’t need anyone! After all, you’ve got this crazy family! Am I right?” With a wink, he pulled Wendy in for a hug.

She pulled him tight for a moment before letting go. “Yah, and honestly I should get an award for putting up with all of you.”

“Hmmmhmmm. Of course you should. Now, about getting some help?”

Wendy gave a short laugh, “Sure, what do you need?” Dating was all well and good, but for now, there was work to be done.
