Happy Star Wars day!
Even through it might sound silly, today is a really important day for me. Star Wars is a big part of my life and I reckon it always will be. I even had another tumblr account dedicated to Star Wars once lol

Penguin Random House:
For now I prefer to keep my identity anonymous
I’m writing this letter for a chance to get my book published by you.
As the biggest book publisher in the world, I would like to humbly ask for anyone involved to check my latest book. It’s called “Whispers from beyond the grave” and I’m sure it has potential.
You do not need to know my name, only my work
Thank you

+-To elevate the soul, poetry is necessary.
+-What are you talking about? Are you crazy?
+-I was never really insane except upon occasions when my heart was touched
+-Please stop
+-Years of love have been forgot, In the hatred
+-I just asked for you to pass me the salt. Why are you speaking only in quotes?
+-Art is to look at not to criticize
+-....
+-I’ll get the salt myself

Sexism in the 19th century
Not only was Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley the creator of the story that marked the era of goth and horror fiction, but she also played an important role as a writer, independent woman, and feminist.
However, it is important to understand the background of Shelley's writing “Frankenstein”.
The early 19th century was an era when the scientific field was completely dominated by men. Shelley seems to have a fear of feminism because she sees that female roles are completely denied in her society. It shouldn't have been easy to live under her husband's shadow either. As many people discredited her work and attributed it to him, she had to publish the first edition anonymously.
She wasn’t the only writer who suffered sexism in the 19th century, another famous example is Louisa May Alcott, whose novel “Little Women” was considered too unusual for her time.

Gatekeeping - Filtering information for one’s convenience
I was asked to make a post about gatekeeping but if I understood correctly, I basically do that everyday.
Posting quotes without giving context about where they came from. Isn’t that cheating?
A lot of of the things I post came from writers that lived hundreds of years ago and their books usually include things that in today world’s would be deemed as unacceptable. However, I chose to share only the quotes that still carry something meaningful.

“Crocodile tears”
Modern English speakers use the phrase “crocodile tears” to describe a display of superficial or false sorrow, but the saying actually derives from a medieval belief that crocodiles shed tears of sadness while they killed and consumed their prey. The myth dates back as far as the 14th century and comes from a book called “The Travels of Sir John Mandeville.” Wildly popular upon its release, the tome recounts a brave knight’s adventures during his supposed travels through Asia. Among its many fabrications, the book includes a description of crocodiles that notes, “These serpents sley men, and eate them weeping, and they have no tongue.” While factually inaccurate, Mandeville’s account of weeping reptiles later found its way into the works of Shakespeare, and “crocodile tears” became an idiom as early as the 16th century.
