And I so desperately wanted to believe.

To believe you were all the things you said you were.

To believe "shit'll buff out".

To believe you meant it when you said 'I love you' for the first (and last) time when we were driving to the store.

I didn't know...

And I so desperately wanted to believe.

To believe you had stopped lying.

To believe when you said "you're who I want to wake up to", "I'm in it for the long haul", "I've never met a woman like you... I see your worth"

To believe things would get better.

But you never meant any of it. You played the game, you played me, till you got bored...

At first I was hurt, confused... then angry & disgusted with myself for allowing you to hurt me.

Now... now I forgive myself for not knowing.

I didnt know... but I know now & you'll never hurt me again.
