My problem with her that she’s fucking lying to herself the entire of the day of the wedding. She tells her sister she is her own woman and mature the whole day and saying things she KNOWS will be the most hurtful thing possible.

But at the same time what mature and independent thing has she literally ever done before that very moment??????? Nothing. At literally every other moment of decision she looked to her SISTER to make the choice.

She did not care how much her sister sacrificed for her, not just in the time we’ve seen her but from what we know about their past it has always been that way. She did not care that her sister was willing to put aside her chance at love and happiness for her. I understand being upset in the moment, but she did not take even a second the whole episode to consider things from her sister perspective. Which is particularly noticeable because every single decision Kate makes she considers her sisters feelings before her own.

And when she said “I did not ask for this,” I actually laughed out loud because girl who the fuck are you kidding. She had not shown a single fucking moment of not being on board with her sisters idea of finding her a husband.

And let’s talk about the 2 lies Kate told Edwina;

1. The Sheffield agreement

2. Her feelings for Antony.

The first, yes she should have been upfront with her sister from the beginning, but let me genuinely ask, who does this lie hurt? Edwina? How? Seeing as how she was planning on getting married anyways when she came to England HOW would the fact Kate made that agreement change anything. Especially since Kate took up the responsibility of looking after her sister and mother. Yes, she should have told her. But the existence of that agreement affected no one. As if it hadn’t existed, nothing would have changed. You want to know why I know? Because it didn’t change anything even when it existed. It created 20 minutes of tension in an episode that was forgotten by the next, the plot, the character, and their motivations, were unaffected.

Now let’s talk about Antony. I feel like it is easy to forget that Kate herself was unaware of her feelings the majority of the time, and even when she became aware of them she repressed it. Like I said, she was more than willing to give up her happiness for her sisters. I hate this idea that Kate was sneaking around with Antony, when every time they were alone together it was his doing. Every time something happened between them it was Antony’s doing. And the fact that Edwina had the AUDACITY to be angry with her over that genuinely made me disgusted with her. Once again, her sister who has done nothing but sacrifice for her, and she could not spare a single moment of consideration to think about how she may have been feeling in that moment. Not to mention, that it was Antony who choose to continue to pursue Edwina.

I agree that for most of season 2 Edwina was incredibly likeable. But genuinely, the wedding episode made me hate her. She spent the WHOLE season being more than happy to follow her sister and mother’s guidance throughout literally every step, yes she was naive to not see Antony’s affection for Kate till the wedding day and I do not fault her for being naive as that is literally how she has been characterized from the moment she showed up on screen.

But I can fault Edwina for taking out her frustration with herself for her own naivety and dependency on Kate. It is obvious during the whole episode that Edwina is just realizing how naive she is and is angry about it, but that is not her sisters fault. What was Kate supposed to do? Not do everything she could to take care of her sister? When they were broke and destitute?

Like I said before, I do not even fault her for being angry in the moment. What I fault her for is screaming about how she is a grown woman who can make her own choices without realizing all that her sister has done to GIVE HER THE OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE HER OWN CHOICES.

in conclusion, Edwina’s character assassination in that episode was horrific. Naivety is not a fault, but being naive and then being upset when other more mature people look out for you is just fucking dumb and selfish.

I will never understand why Edwina’s character is so disliked in season 2. She is literally one of if not the most likeable character throughout season 2.

Are people forgetting that Kate straight up lied to her SISTER and deceived her about her intentions with the Viscount.

Trust me if I was in that situation and my blood sister did that to me talk-less of my half sister I would have dragged her. That wedding won’t have happened trust and believe that.

Anyways STAN EDWINA, she deserves no hate, and it’s easy for ppl to throw in the fact that she was naive or how did she not notice blah blah blah like be so serious for a second. Be in her shoes/ some of y’all probably have sisters but As a sister it wouldn’t nor shouldn’t cross your mind that your sister is messing around with your husband.

That’s my two cents….

But the point I am trying to make is not that Joe Biden is the lesser of two evils. The point I am trying to make is that republicans are trying to change the political system so drastically that our votes make no impact at all. At this point it is no longer about the evilness of any one individual, it’s about political stability in the USA.

You are correct in pointing out that different comunties vote according to different ideals but that is true about people’s opinions on Palestine as well, not everyone is making this decision solely based on Joe Biden policies relating to Palestine. Obviously the Arab community is, as they should and have every right to do, but the majority of people are not making their decisions entirely based on that. Because currently, genz and millennials do not hold the majority of the vote.

Donald Trump has not already won, there are several very important swing states where doland Trump is significantly less popular than Biden. I would argue for good reason. Michigan Is not the only swing state with an impact.

If we want to live in a world where our votes still have the slightest impact on the presidency then Donald Trump cannot win. If America would like to continue to call itself a democracy (which it can barely call itself one now) then Donald Trump cannot win.

I reject the idea that by voting for Joe Biden it allows the democrats to think they can just get away with anything. Democrats have seen the poles, they know how unpopular Joe Biden is, and they know specifically in relation to current events which of his policies people hate. It is true they are both being paid off by the same guys, but democrats ONLY line of defense against the republicans is their popularity with the younger generation and they know if they want a chance at power we (the younger generation) are their only chance at it. And they know which policies we support.

I want to point out there are members of the Democratic Party who are truly on the side of positive change even if it is a minority.

I’m not suggesting continuing to vote for democrat presidents for the rest of time, only that this particular election has landed during a time of incredible political instability in the United States and it seems silly to me to just allow the worst case scenario to happen simply because we also hate the other guy and his terrible policies.

Not voting in this scenario (as a left leaning person) is a vote for Donald Trump.

I don’t want to come across as rude because I think we both fundamentally want the same thing, but I don’t see how not voting would at all assist the goal we both seem to share.

I don't think people really understand that even if Biden wins (I'm telling you though, he's definitely not going to. I'm certain of this. Regardless of what you say about "psyops". He would have lost even before this) the people who will be most affected by BOTH Trump and Biden will still have to live their lives nearly the exact same way. The difference is that you just won't hear about it every second of every day if Biden were to win.

Like I'm not trying to be defeatist or seem hopeless, I just genuinely don't understand how you see a difference between the two. How has the past few months not completely obliterated any doubts you had about the intentions of the democratic party. There is no way you can see what's happening on a world scale and think "well it could be worse." What? Do you hear yourself? There is a whole economic and political system that thrives on subjugating and erasing the most vulnerable people in South West Asia, and Africa, and just all around. And they're not shy about it! They willingly and brazenly participate in it!

Are we voting... for what. Like honestly what are we voting for at this point. Whether or not CNN blasts 24 hours of Trump news? Whether or not our guy knows how to be polite while he massacres? What even is the point of any of this if it leads to so much destruction.

What a lot of people are forgetting when they make this argument is that Trump isn’t just trying to get control, he’s trying to stay in control.

It is his plan to dismantle or reorganize every government bureaucracy institution that can limit his power. And the ones he can’t get rid of he will fill with people who are loyal to him not the country. He has stated that is his plan in very clear terms.

He wants to remove limits to presidential power, up to and including term limits. Many people forget that those limits are not written into the constitution so they would not require a 2/3rds majority to remove.

We know because of what happened on January 6th he is more than willing to insight policial violence to stay in power and is using claims of unregistered voters to put greater limits and control on voting. Voter suppression is the only way republicans can win but unfortunately they are incredibly practiced at suppressing voters, they have been doing it for years.

Donald Trump will do everything in his power to remove our ability to make any positive change in the future. Donald Trump will do everything in his power to turn America into a dictatorship. The truly terrifying thing is how little barriers there are to keep him from doing exactly that.

I understand the cynicism. I really and truly do given that Joe Biden is also a colossal piece of shit. But the idea that they are at all the same level of bad for the FUTURE OF THE WORLD is completely false. I understand that the lot of the people already in awful situations will not be better if Joe Biden wins, but at least the man will not be actively trying to remove our ability to make positive change in the future with our votes.

Donald Trump knows that by 2028 millennials and genz will make up the majority of the voting population, and he is terrified of that and will absolutely do everything he is politically able to do to suppress our votes.

Please understand that now more than ever our local elections matter. Because our local elected officials have the ability to stand up for the rights of their constituents and if you don’t pay attention to these positions they WILL be filled by Trump loyalist republicans because young people are less likely to participate in local elections.

That being said. Please, for the love of all that is good in this world, look into what I have described because policial scientists have been warning us since 2020 that this is the trajectory the Republican Party is on and that this is their end goal.

I hate Joe Biden, I really fucking do, but please, we cannot make historically significant decisions in a vacuum where none of what I said matters because it absolutely does.

This isn’t just about what they talk about on the news, this isn’t about me being “uncomfortable” seeing the shit Donald Trump is doing. This is about the very real and very possible plan the republicans have to eventually turn America into a 1 party system through extreme voter suppression.

I do not care if I get hate for saying this, because people need to hear this and think about it.

His body remembered training and fighting well. It was like riding a bicycle, as humans say. But it was harder to get his mind back into it. Training Maria's army was easy - the newborns meant nothing to him. This time it was Alice, his whole world (he could not think of her in danger). Boisterous Emmett with his good humor and a tendency to not look before leaping (he came to training with the same enthusiastic energy as when they would wrestle and Jasper snapped at him multiple times to take it seriously). Prickly Rosalie who understood him (he missed having a twin and she was the closest to having his sister back). Warm Esme who was always willing to let him help with her projects (she introduced him to creating something instead of always destroying). Steadfast Carlisle, whose generally calm emotional demeanor was a comfort after years of turbulence (what would he do without that?).

It was harder to find what he liked about Edward in this moment. Selfish Edward who first refused to kill Bella and get it over with, then refused to change her (she desperately wanted to be one of them and frankly Jasper didn't understand what the problem was). Edward, who has put everyone in danger multiple times over her.

Jasper didn't know when he would ever forgive him.
