Hej! I'm Ana, from Madrid (Spain). I'm studying Swedish and I'm finding it difficult to learn the pronunciation. I was wondering if you could recommend some Swedish films or series so I can get more used to the sounds. I don't really mind if I don't understand everything, I just want to get used to the phonetics. Thanks in advance!!!
Hej Ana! I’ve recommended a few things on Youtube -here- that may help. You can also listen to news reports spoken in simple Swedish -here-You can find many children’s films, like Disney, dubbed in Swedish. If you look hard enough on Youtube, you may even find the full film for some of them. It’s always good to start off with children’s programs, just because they’re easier to understand and don’t use a lot of big, complicated words. Films and shows based on Astrid Lindgren’s stories are a good place to look too. Ronja rövardotter - Full movie (Ronja is my favorite.)Pippi Långstrump - PlaylistEmil i Lönneberga - Playlist for the movie
Some other suggestions are…Nils Holggerssons underbara resa - Full movieBamse i Trollskogen - Full movieTrolltyg i Tomteskogen - Full movieIf you’re looking for something that’s not really focused towards kids, you can look for other Swedish live-action films. You probably won’t have too much trouble finding popular films like the Swedish versions of Let the Right One In (2008 “Låt den rätte komma in”) or The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo trilogy (the first film being in 2009 “Män som hatar kvinnor”). You can probably find a few comedy skits involving Stig-Helmer on Youtube. Johan Falk is also a popular film series. If you’re into the police action type of thing, there are plenty of those movies for you to enjoy (there are over 10 films in this series). Here’s an entire list of films produced in Swedish.

-Partikelverb-
A partikelverb (particle verb / phrasal verb) is a verb followed by another word that becomes dependant on each other to form a single meaning.
And example of this in English would be to "give up". If you think about these two words individually and literally, it may seem like a strange thing to say. But together, they form a phrasal verb which means to quit or resign.
When speaking and pronouncing the Swedish partikelverb, the partikel part is always emphasized.
Att hälsa på - To greet someone
Att hälsa på (partikelverb)- To visit someone
When changing the tense of a partikelverb, the verb changes with it's normal tenses, but the partikel remains unchanged.
En: I visited him yesterday.
Sv: Jag hälsade på honom igår.
If you'd like to see a full list of Swedish partikelverb, you can find one -here- .
Some examples:

Hej! Jag har inte börjat SFI än, eftersom jag bara väntar på mitt personnummer, men jag blev så glad när jag hamnade på den här bloggen. Vad fantastiskt! Tack så mycket, och jag hoppas jag kan lära mig mycket av din blogg!
Hej till dig! Jag tycker att du är redan jätte duktig på svenska! Du är mycket bättre än jag var innan jag började SFI. :) SFI kommer att gå fort för dig tror jag.

Hello! You don't know how useful is your blog. I live in Italy and here is almost impossible find a book who helps you to learn swedish. I wanna ask you, do you know where i could find grammar exercises? Tack :)
I’m very glad that people find it useful! :)
If you’re looking for exercises (övningar) a good place to start would be Digitala Spåret. I had to dig through my old Swedish notes to remember this one. Our teacher recommended it to us at the very beginning of my SFI courses and I never really used it. Now that I’m taking a good look at it though, it has a lot of good Swedish resources, links to other sites that can be useful in learning Swedish, and online exercises for all levels.
Another one is - this site - which has online exercises from the Rivstart books. The Rivstart books are the exact textbooks that we were issued in my SFI (Svenska för invandrare / Swedish for immigrants) classes. We used A1 + A2 all the way from intro to the end of the 3C level, then we used B1 + B2 for the final 3D level (exercises for that one can be found -here-). The exercises go along with each chapter in the books and are mostly about grammar. You don’t even have to have the books to use the online exercises. You just click on one of the titles in a chapter to get started on exercises that feel sort of like mini-tests. They’re usually multiple choice and it will tell you if you’ve chosen the right or wrong answers.
