perhaps for some the moon is a better metaphor for love, whether it be for the beloved or the lover. but is the sun not more adequate? bright and fiery and burning. hurting the other is simply inevitable; whether it be by inevitable petty arguments and differences or by their unspoken willingness to embrace inevitable devastation of mortal loss as long as it means to soak in your warmth and presence in the moment. i think loving and being loved are both inherently selfish acts but i think that’s the beauty of it.
