Build-a-BL: Off the Market
Tumblr media
From Aof Noppharnach and Jojo Tichakorn, comes a new show.
Night (First Kanaphan) has been struggling financially for years now, having to pay off his late mother's debts. Until one day he hears about the opportunity of a lifetime. At the upcoming local night market, there is going to be a special exhibit, featuring many priceless artifacts for display. A new job opportunity puts Night right by the artifacts. If he can manage to just grab one of the items being displayed, selling it would give him more than money to pay off the remaining debt and set up a new and good life for himself. But stealing something with such tight security is not a task for one man.
Ace (Khaotung Thanawat) is a burnt out private eye who had long been disillusioned about what good he could do against all the corruption in the world. What's worse, his cases keep causing him to run into Mercy (Mix Sahaphap), a notorious jewel thief that gets in his way and under his skin. At first he wrote it off as an unlucky coincidence, but when Mercy kept showing up at all of his cases, even those that there was no real reason for Mercy to be involved, he had to concede that for some reason Mercy was pursuing him. Against his better judgment, Ace finds himself in bed with Mercy more than he'd care to admit.
When Ace hears about a night market hosting a series of valuable items for display, his private eye senses scream at him that there's something more to what's on display, which is how he meets Night. Inevitably Mercy also gets involved and soon the trio find themselves tangled together as they begin to unravel something far bigger and sinister than they imagine.
Meanwhile, Night's estranged step-sister Dawn (Milk Pansa) is a rookie detective. When she hears about suspicious activity surrounding a night market, she goes to investigate, but is surprised that none of her superiors seem to have any interest in the matter. Things get more complicated when she keeps hearing the name Viper (Bible Wichapas), a respected businessman that all her colleagues seem to respect, tied to what's happening at the night market. What's more, she recently met the mysterious Ruby (Silvy Pavida), who seems to know more than she lets on, but Dawn finds herself inexplicably drawn to her.
Things only escalate by the sudden involvement of Prince (Jeff Satur) a master thief and Mercy's long time rival. Except Prince doesn't seem to be at the night market to steal and his apparent connection with Viper causes more confusion.
Will Night, Ace, and Mercy be able to work together to accomplish their goals? Will the tangled web of corruption be revealed? What are they willing to sacrifice to create the future they want for themselves?
(Full list of details under cut. Also this is 100% a collaborative effort and is about as public domain as a concept for a fictional show can be. If there is anything you want to add or make, please do! Tag me too because I want to see lol)

Your opinions on superman?
Sorry for taking forever to respond. I was trying to find a way to properly explain how I feel XD
I am absolutely in love with Clark Kent. There is something so amazing about how the core of Clark's character is that he genuinely wants to do good because he simply believes it's the right thing to do.
I give a lot of credit to Ma and Pa Kent, obviously, for instilling that in him at a young age. But I also believe that Clark was always naturally inclined to be a kind person. He displays an impressive level of emotional intelligence and empathy for nearly everyone he meets. He's not perfect, but he makes an effort to understand other's motivations and actions.
I also appreciate how much he adores and respects Lois. Clark can never run out of things to say about her. I find it refreshing that a main stay of his relationship with Lois is that he admires and acknowledges her skill as a journalist/reporter. He never tries to undermine her or discredit her. In fact, one of the main reasons he's attracted to her is her dedication to her career. That and her bravery in the face of any danger she encounters. Even when she really should have bowed out forever ago XD
I also think it's very telling that of all the members of the Justice League, Bruce's best friend (other than Diana) is Clark. To me, that right there shows even further what a fantastic person Clark is. Because despite being someone as notoriously private and often irrationally paranoid as Bruce is, he is still able to let his guard down around Clark. I find it heartwarming and sometimes even hilarious that Clark is able to get away with giving Bruce absolute shit and Bruce is, more often than not, willing to tolerate Clark's teasing or even his serious reprimands. They both value the other's opinion and trust each other with their lives.
What I think more recent adaptations of Superman have forgotten, is that Clark never has had an interest in being a god or in using his abilities to establish himself as something superior to mankind. It's the opposite. Clark has such a high degree of self control over his own powers because of just how perfectly aware he is of how easily he could hurt someone if he wanted to.
But Clark doesn't have a desire for power. He genuinely wants to help people because he has the ability to do so.
Tldr; The reason Superman is so great is because Clark is a great person.

farleigh analysis PART 3, because i might as well do the entire movie at this point. i'm locked in. this is going to cover the early-saltburn summer era. AKA, oliver's once in a lifetime, hand job on a haybale, golden big boy summer. everything after venetia and oliver's sex scene is in another post on my blog. this one is pretty short.
[0:34:42] (they're watching superbad. teehee.)
farleigh looks borderline revolted in the background of this shot, which is so funny to me. superbad is, in my opinion, notoriously rude. the comedy is hollow, childish, homophobic, etc. even seth rogan admits that the movie is tone deaf and aged horribly. that's neither here nor there, though. all i'm saying is that i can't imagine farleigh would enjoy the movie as a queer person.
[0:35:19] elsbeth: is that right, he had to put his fingers down his mother's throat to make her sick? farleigh: yeah. felix: farleigh, that's private stuff! farleigh: well, you told us. felix: in confidence!
when elsbeth initially asks the question, she's looking directly at farleigh. yet, when felix confronts farleigh about discussing private matters, farleigh responds with "well, you told us." meaning the family, i assume. felix had no issue with elsbeth and pamela discussing oliver's home life until farleigh was very moderately involved. it's odd to me. and yes, felix is the one that told them. moral superiority, or something. having someone to blame, even when you enabled their gossiping in the first place.
[0:35:34] elsbeth: we should give him the most wonderful time! farleigh: good luck, he doesn't smile much. elsbeth: farleigh seems to think he's ghastly. why are you friends with him, darling?
really, you can tell that elsbeth likes farleigh. she respects his opinion to a certain extent. i also talked about the tutor scene in part 2, and how i consider the "style over substance" debate a metaphorical parallel to farleigh over oliver. here, farleigh once again points out the style of oliver's social interactions: he doesn't smile much. when you look at this from a social and... neurotypical perspective, lacking a smile during conversation can mean a lot of negative things. farleigh seems to have a dedicated focus on arbitrary social expectations, largely because he has to.
[0:35:33] farleigh: and here he is now! we were just talking about you. elsbeth: don't be silly! farleigh, you just make up the most awful things. of course we weren't!
once again, in traditional catton fashion, farleigh is scolded for saying doing something that contrasts the cattons saviorism. obviously oliver knew they were talking about them. i can't blame elsbeth for attempting to backtrack, but "farleigh, you just make up the most awful things" is a weirdly unnecessary throat punch. she's stepping on farleigh to appear taller, if you will. at 0:36:34, when elsbeth asks oliver to sit by her, farleigh looks so exceptionally irritated. he rolls his eyes, looks back towards his computer, and sighs dramatically. wonderful. he's so sick and tired.
[0:37:20] elsbeth: i've lost so many friends to addiction. so, so many dear, dear friends. it's the root of poor pamela's horrors too, i'm afraid. farleigh: and the only interesting thing about her. elsbeth: farleigh! no, she is rather dull, actually. but she's so beautiful. you have to admit, she's very beautiful.
elsbeth and her obsession with physical appearances. once again, style over substance. and her outrage at farleigh refusing to soften the blow on his statements, before following it with her own (albeit less crude) dig at pamela. style over substance. wouldn't it a little uncanny, a little scary, to be the only person of color in a household that places physical appearance on such a high pedestal? especially a household as ignorant as the cattons. that's just conjecture, though. oliver has the ability to manipulate a space for himself in the family without sacrificing any of the qualities he began with. he never really smiles more, throughout the summer. he never really loses his signature awkwardness, his imposing energy.
[0:40:05] elsbeth: you know we're delighted to have you for however long it is you mean to stay. farleigh: forever...? pamela: oh, no. i think i might have, erm, found somewhere. elsbeth: oh, well done, darling! james: oh, good!
right after james says "good," you can see farleigh turning to look at him. prompting james to drop the hatchet on pamela's prolonged stay at saltburn, i'm assumng. this is what's interesting to me, i think. again, farleigh lacks the drive to play the same game as oliver. farleigh doesn't want to nurture the charitable actions of the cattons. farleigh believes the other guests at saltburn take up the space that he would otherwise fill. just like at oxford, when felix is sitting with someone else, farleigh is discarded. when elsbeth invited oliver to sit next to her, farleigh looks annoyed. the cattons capacity for attention and kindness is depressingly small. farleigh isn't playing chess, he's trying to win by sheer survival of the fittest.
for the next few, brief scene of farleigh and oliver interacting, oliver repeatedly proves that he does his research. i can't get over it, to be honest. neither can farleigh; if looks could kill, oliver would've been dead within 10 minutes of arriving at saltburn. the methods farleigh and oliver uses to remain relevant in the catton catalogue are so wildly different. farleigh, who uses his personality and social skills to keep the cattons entertained and charmed by him. i'm sure he loves to gossip with elsbeth, wine and dines with venetia, and he clearly does everything in his power to stay glued to felix's side throughout the school year. this is someone who has never considered manipulating the cattons; he just wants to be one of them, and he wants it to be easy. can you blame him?

Ok! Ok! Just one more ask (for now-)!
Does big mama find out that the twins are bio girls? If she does, is she happy or upset? Is she upset they didn't tell her? Does she try to make this a profitable thing (take this how you will)? Is she supportive or not? Did she just not know or did she not care to confirm?
Also!! I just love the tail you gave donnie!! Does leo have a tail? Is it as long as Donnie's? Also which twin is older? Do they share a room? Or do they have their own rooms? If they have their own rooms, do they have like a floor of the hotel just to themselves? Are there plans for any love interest in this au? Are Mikey and Raph also girls? Or did draxum accidentally get two girl turtles? What are all the boys (and Cassandra)'s sexual and gender identity?
Thank you!!! Again sorry for the question spam
lmao sorry for the wait for some reason my brain said i could not possibly answer this until i completed the egg saga and therefore answered the first part of this question. but now im also gonna do an additional part showing donnie and mama's conversation, so it'll get even more answer...
tldr; she finds out about donnie, but still does not know about leo. she is upset and essentially forbids donnie from telling anyone about this-- (cause imagine the pr nightmare.) she wasn't previously aware that they were biologically female.
also!!! thank you!!! leo does also have a tail, but it's a lot shorter and stubbier than donnie's. he's privately a bit jealous of donnie's long, pretty, expressive tail. likewise, donnie is privately a bit jealous of leo's short, simple tail, which is never stepped on or caught in doors-- but neither of them would ever admit it and would in fact claim superiority of their own tail if asked.
donnie is the older twin.
they do not share a room, but they do share a floor of the hotel. they each have their own massive bedroom, complete with en suite bathrooms, balconies, and every other bell and whistle you could ever dream of, and are 'next door neighbors' so to speak. Mama occupies the top floor just above them, and everything below them is the actual hotel.
i don't currently have plans for any love interests!
all four of the brothers identify as male (at least right now, anyway,) and mikey and raph are both biologically male. draxum did not really care about the gender of the turtles he obtained for his experiments; he just needed strong, healthy specimens. (plus, turtles are, like, notoriously hard to sex, anyway.)
leo is pretty sure that he's gay, but hasn't breathed a word of this to anyone. he's well aware that being a prettyboy bachelor and making the girls swoon or whatever the fuck is a part of his 'brand' as a performer, and that messing with this would NOT be well received by his mother.
donnie is bisexual, but hasn't really noticed or processed this himself yet, because he doesn't spend very much time or energy considering what is or is not attractive to him. he has other things to worry about, thank you. (and he's not as...... easily impressed as leo is.) it's not like either of them are out socializing with people their age or going on dates or anything, anyway.
mikey isn't into labels u w u but also hasn't really ever put too much time or energy or thought into dating or anything like that. he's busy trying to eliminate humanity <3
raph, bless his soul, has never once in his life even considered thinking critically about his gender or sexuality or anything else. that's not even a little bit in his world sphere. he has no gotdamn idea.
cassandra is definitely a lesbian lol.

💖
i’m starting with one even though frankly i want to send you all of them
i'll send you a document with a response to all of them how's that
💖: What is your biggest unpopular opinion about the series?
god where would i even start
well i guess i'll pick one
personally, as in my personal opinion, i just don't believe in kara coming out as somehow the next best step for her. this matter of being your 'full self' just screams 'nobody knows what work/life balance is' lmao. this is what we call 'vocational awe' in libraries LMAO i get what it's trying to do in that this has been the series-long crusade for kara. who is she? kara danvers? or supergirl? and i have posited elsewhere that kara danvers is her default setting, not supergirl. so supergirl's role in kara's entire life is a cape/persona she dons...and then takes off. so i think the bigger identity reconciliation should be between kara danvers and kara zorel, not the hero but the alien. she's superpowered because she's alien first, etc etc. but idk how to explain that without writing an essay right now so i will withhold.
the point is i just didn't think it was a satisfying end for her to come out as supergirl to the world to satisfy the juggling of her two identities. i think she should have just done a better job juggling them LOL like i think it's important to determine how to be your most authentic self but i don't know if it needed to be done at the face of revealing your alien identity. because i still think that the target on her back just gets infinitely larger??? what's the point of keeping 4 years of secrets to lena at that point? couldn't she have reached that conclusion sooner if that was the case? i think she could have expressed her authentic self by marie kondoing what's the most important parts of her life and how to let the *right* people in, not *every single person* in. also like idk from a logistics standpoint, kara should have just hired a fucking assistant for herself to keep things organized. the issue here is that she keeps working 40 hour work weeks for both jobs. and also to accept editor in chief? like those people leave work early. the solution was for kara to have hired an assistant, maybe 2. like the reason why she's conflicted is that she's working 2 jobs? she doesn't need to combine those 2 jobs and announce to the world that she's doing them as 1 big job. ETHICALLY she was citing herself???? god the integrity of everything should be put to question lmao
what would have been more compelling to me myself and i is if she really took a look at her time as supergirl and wondered if she should maintain the cape or not. like did she do as much good as she hoped? what about the people who had died or who had gotten hurt or whose lives and situations were otherwise sacrificed on her behalf? is this the life for her? is this something she wants to keep doing because she wants to or because she feels she has to? she feels a responsibility and i think that's fascinating for a character, and she thinks that there's a duty to uphold to the humans of national city because she has these gifts. but i think the ending should have been kara determining the future of supergirl, the superhero, and not how to mix the two and count that as authenticity.
tangentially, it is oh so interesting to me that this authentic speeches comes from cat and lena to be the ones to convince her to stop hiding herself? two people who are notoriously private people???? who are essentially living private and public lives??????? funny how that goes i guess
anyway it's fine obviously and if you liked it then that's also great and it's an intentional high note feel good ending yes yes good great. i am not trying to yuck your yum at all, but based on how i have since engaged with the show, it's pretty clear the writers and i simply did not share a vision lmao
ask game

The Greed Is The Unraveling - Chapter 4 - ao3
Wen Ning couldn’t tell what was more awkward.
The presence of not one but two fierce corpses sitting in the dining room of the Nie sect, surrounded by sabers teeming with resentful energy that wanted nothing more than to slaughter them?
Nie Huaisang looking thoughtfully at the father that had notoriously died in a hideous fashion when he was only six, and therefore scarcely remembered?
Nie Mingjue, the toddler, insisting quite loudly that he wanted to sit in the lap of Nie Mingjue, the fierce corpse?
Wen Ning, surnamed Wen like an enemy, sitting here in the midst of it all?
Probably that last one.
“Don’t be so nervous,” Nie Huaisang scolded him in an undertone. He seemed amused, face hidden behind his fan, but then he always seemed amused to Wen Ning these days; ever since he’d gotten his brother back, even dead, he had become practically tranquil. “This is our home, da-ge and I! We’re more than welcome here, always, and so are our guests. It’s all very hospitable here.”
Wen Ning tried to paste on a smile and also hide his head in his arched-up shoulders as if he were a turtle at the same time. It wasn’t his home, and unfortunately for him, he wasn’t a guest – in fact, what Nie Huaisang was very pointedly not saying was that Wen Ning had only been transported into the past to land here with the two Nie brothers, rather than with the juniors he liked to follow and protect or with Wei Wuxian who he spent the rest of his time with, because he’d been spying on them. No one had asked him to, but Wei Wuxian had expressed a bit of concern a few times regarding what Nie Huaisang would get up to now that he’d finished all his other plotting and, well, it wasn’t as if Wen Ning had anything better to be doing…
Of course, his attempts at being stealthy had been demolished by the unexpected pull of time travel.
(He would die of embarrassment, only he was already dead. As it was, he was wondering if it was still somehow possible.)
“Oh, we’re extremely hospitable,” the former (current?) Sect Leader Nie said. He was somehow smiling, and it even seemed genuine. He seemed to think this was funny. “This is the most interesting thing that’s happened in – ages! Isn’t that right, Xiaoxiao?”
“No, da-ge,” a broad-shouldered woman with a positively massive saber on her back said disinterestedly from where she was standing guard by the door. “Your first wife was plenty interesting.”
“That doesn’t count.”
“It counts.”
“Ah, Xiaoxiao, my darling little sister, you don’t understand…”
“Little cousin, why don’t you take the one surnamed Wen out for a walk?” Nie Xiao said to the child that was hovering around her side. Her eye was twitching a little – she was clearly younger than Sect Leader Nie by a good number of years, but that dynamic didn’t appear in evidence at all. She looked like she was about to let loose and punch her sect leader and elder brother in the face, while he looked like he’d probably just nod and say that he deserved it while offering some corrections to her form. Not that Wen Ning thought that a battleax like this woman would need improvements to her undoubtedly perfect fighting technique… “Let the rest of this conversation be between us Nie – excluding the children, of course.”
Nie Zonghui, tasked with the responsibility for removing Wen Ning from the situation so that the scary lady could start yelling at her sect leader in private, was apparently twelve and therefore not a child, a fact he made very clear to Wen Ning at once as soon as they got outside.
Despite that, it was pretty clear he had no interest in disobeying the orders of what turned out to be his aunt.
Wen Ning couldn’t blame him. She seemed rather scary.
Had he mentioned that she was scary recently?
She was.
(Nearly, but not quite, as scary as Nie Huaisang, who just watched the goings-on in front of him with that tranquil smile, casually fanning himself, and somehow despite that looking more terrifying than anyone else in the room.)
Of course Nie Zonghui promptly ruined that moment of shared understanding by taking Wen Ning over to the training yards to meet his parents, who were also extremely scary, and also someone they all called Auntie Xinwei, who was even scarier. It turned out that Nie Zonghui’s parents were the Nie sect’s training masters, saber-mad and crazed with a desire to perform physical exercise – something Wen Ning hadn’t enjoyed while he was alive, and wasn’t overly interested in now that he was dead, insane rages when he was out of his mind not being applicable – but Auntie Xinwei, a mere travelling warrior from the last generation, was worse.
She was a doctor.
Or…maybe?
She didn’t look as scary at first sight, except for the fact that she took one look at Wen Ning and started talking about medicine and wanting to try things, and Wen Ning had learned enough medicine from his sister to know for absolute sure that absolutely nothing she said was medically accurate or recommended.
“She’s more enthusiastic than talented,” Nie Zonghui admitted (very quietly), and ushered Wen Ning away on his somewhat alarmed parents’ orders. Wen Ning was starting to feel like an unwanted hot potato, and also possibly like the Nie sect was far more dangerous than he’d previously realized. Was this why his uncle had never tried to take it over directly? “Still, she’s better than the Sect Leader.”
“Is she?” Wen Ning asked, feeling dubious. The sect leader, Nie Huaisang’s father, had seemed relatively normal, if possessed of a strange sense of humor. “What’s the matter with him?”
“Well, you see, it’s his taste in romantic partners. My parents have never forgiven him for what happened with his first wife…”
At the end of the explanation, Wen Ning thought he probably had more questions than answers.
“What about his second wife?” he asked nervously, thinking about the rendition of ex-lovers Nie Zonghui had just regaled him with, and also about how dangerous Nie Huaisang looked to someone with eyes that could see resentful energy. Sometimes he wished he’d just taken one look and gone the other way. “What was she?”
“…he doesn’t have a second wife, Wen-gongzi.”
“Oh. Uh. He will?”
“And will she be something weird?”
“…probably.”
Nie Zonghui sighed.
“Well, come on,” he said. “I’ll show you some other parts of the Unclean Realm.”
Wen Ning followed, and wondered as he did at how often Nie Zonghui had to do distraction tours like this. Surely it couldn’t be that common, right? …right?
They toured several sights of great interest to Nie Zonghui – the snack pantry, for one, though he did become apologetic when he realized Wen Ning couldn’t sample anything – and were just passing by one of the side gates when it opened unexpectedly and Wen Ning ran straight into his uncle.
It took a moment for him to realize what was unusual about this.
Wen Ning had been a clumsy child in his youth, and he’d always been running after his sister, so it wasn’t uncommon for him to run into people, and his uncle, with his habit of prowling around the Nightless City, more than most. Luckily it had mostly happened when he was very young, when his uncle was still mostly inclined to shrug it off and ignore it, and by the time his uncle had completely lost his mind and become far more dangerous, Wen Ning had learned the basics of not crashing. But it was still something he remembered with a startlingly vivid sense of clarity.
Therefore, the first thought that came to his mind when it happened was – Why isn’t he taller?
Followed, after a moment, by, Wait. Why is he here?!
“Sect Leader Wen, you’re hurt!” Nie Zonghui exclaimed, and Wen Ning blinked, then realized to his shock that it was true. His uncle’s white-and-red robes were more red than white, except only those parts that were the brown of dried blood, and he was leaning heavily on someone who was clearly a Lan, but whose white robes had been so covered in mud and blood that they were nearly unrecognizable.
Wen Ning automatically rushed over to support his uncle’s other side. He’d been eight when his uncle had lost his mind for good, old enough to have plenty of memories of when his uncle had been terrifying only to outsiders. It had taken years after that before he’d finally realized that his uncle had changed so drastically that there was no turning back.
“Do I know you?” his uncle asked him with a faint frown.
“Is that really the important thing to focus on here?” the Lan beside him asked. “You need medical care. Immediately.”
“He’s my bloodline,” Wen Ning’s uncle said stubbornly. “I know everyone in my bloodline, but I don’t know him. That means I’ve either missed something – or someone kept it from me – or else I’ve started to lose my mind –”
“I’m from the future,” Wen Ning blurted out. “And you’re not crazy yet!”
His uncle stared at him for a moment, and then smirked, that subtle-but-still-present touch of humor sneaking into his expression the way Wen Ning remembered from when he was very small. “That’s not as comforting as you might think, you know.”
“Medical treatment,” the Lan stressed. “Now.”
“Uh, Auntie Xinwei’s visiting,” Nie Zonghui said, and both the Lan and Wen Ruohan made faces suggested that they were familiar with the lady in question.
“I know the basics?” Wen Ning offered. Clearly, no one sane wanted to be treated by Nie Xinwei.
“That’ll do until we can convince someone else to help,” Wen Ruohan said with a shudder. “Qiren, this young man is supporting me just fine, you should go get Lao Nie –”
“Wait,” Wen Ning said, suddenly horrified. “This is Teacher Lan?”
“On second thought, the small Nie boy can go get his sect leader. I insist that you stay while we find out everything we can from my future kinsman, including everything he can tell me about you.”
Luckily, or perhaps not so luckily, Nie Zonghui managed to wrangle up his sect leader in swift order, only he also brought along Nie Xiao, Nie Mingjue in both editions (the larger one carrying the smaller one on his shoulders), and Nie Huaisang, sweeping up behind the rest of them at a causal walk.
“Oh, good,” he said when he saw Teacher Lan helping Wen Ning tend to his uncle’s wounds. “Very good. The two of you getting together will solve all sorts of problems in the future.”
“Getting together what?” Teacher Lan asked.
“What sorts of problems?” Wen Ruohan inquired, which was – extremely worrying, actually.
“But I thought he was together with the Sect Leader…?” Nie Zonghui said, which was both much more worrying and also easily the most horrifying thing anyone had said, ever.
“We are,” Wen Ruohan said, which immediately eclipsed the previous statement in horror.
“You mean you were,” Nie Huaisang said coolly. “I happen to want to be born, thank you, which means you two will split up at some point over it, and from my understanding the entire fiasco just rots the relationship from that point on. Far better to cut it off now and start over again fresh with someone new. Someone with better morals. Someone that isn’t likely to cheat on you.”
Wen Ruohan turned his gaze onto Sect Leader Nie with a glare.
“Don’t look at me like that,” Sect Leader Nie protested. “I haven’t even done anything yet. Anyway, you and Qiren do seem very cozy. It’s cute!”
“We’re not,” Teacher Lan said. “It’s too cold to be cozy, and the clothing-drying spell only works so many times. A blanket would be nice.”
Wen Ning numbly dug one up and handed it to him. It seemed like the least he could do.
Poor Teacher Lan.
“Thank you. Are you in fact surnamed Wen?”
Wen Ning nodded.
“And are you really from the future?”
Another nod.
“…are there many conscious fierce corpses in the future?”
“No, just us two,” Wen Ning said, relieved to finally be able to answer a question. “It’s complicated.”
“What was that about a dragon?” Wen Ruohan, who’d been having a completely different conversation, demanded loudly. “Lao Nie! What the fuck?”
“I haven’t done anything yet!”
“I’ll testify to that,” Nie Huaisang said. He was smiling. “He never got around to it, last time around. I was just saying that I’d be curious to see what a little sibling that was also partially a dragon would look like, assuming that this time you don’t murder my father before he had the chance to procreate a third time.”
“Lao Nie!”
“I haven’t done it yet!”
“You’re not denying that you would!”
“Well – I mean – I guess it depends on the dragon –”
“Would you like to go somewhere else to have a bath and a change of clothing?” Wen Ning asked Teacher Lan, desperate for an excuse to get out of the room, and was deeply relieved when the other man agreed. Once they were out of the room, they lapsed into a much more comfortable silence.
Well, mostly comfortable. Wen Ning was still mostly horrified, but also a little curious.
“Uh, Teacher Lan?”
The shockingly young Lan Qiren glanced at him.
“Are you really interested in my uncle?”
Lan Qiren blinked. “I don’t understand the question,” he said. “Who doesn’t have an interest in him? He’s extremely dangerous. Not paying attention to him is a recipe for disaster.”
Oh, there was definitely room for disaster here, Wen Ning thought miserably. It was like watching a happy little sheep follow a wolf into its den for a cup of tea, and filial piety meant that Wen Ning couldn’t even warn him.
Though maybe his uncle would benefit from having someone a little less unbelievably irritating as Lao Nie in his life. And who knew? Maybe Teacher Lan’s morals would rub off a little…and maybe Teacher Lan wouldn’t even be that unhappy about it, given how charming Wen Ning’s uncle could be when he was really trying –
Oh, who was he trying to fool? Poor Teacher Lan. He was doomed.
Just as doomed as the future they were all from, actually. They’d really messed this up entirely, hadn’t they?
That conviction only got worse when they returned to the room and Wen Ning’s uncle explained that that the reason he looked the way he did was because he’d been attacked by people who sounded an awful lot like Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji.
And also, apparently, Lan Qiren’s terrible older brother and Jin Guangshan.
“Obviously this is unacceptable,” Wen Ruohan said, his voice silky and mild in a way that suggested he was about to commit atrocities. “We will need to take firm action in response to this.”
“No need,” Nie Huaisang said, still fanning himself. “There’s an easy fix.”
They all turned to stare at him.
(Well, except for the fierce corpse Nie Mingjue, who was pinching his brow as if he knew exactly what his little brother was going to say and was just barely refraining from groaning at the idea.)
Nie Huaisang’s smile widened.
“Relax, all of you. Jiang-xiong will have to run into his grandfather by now – a-die, you once told da-ge all about him and really, it explains so much – and he’s a bright fellow; he’ll figure everything out soon enough, and that means he’ll be heading this way. More to the point, Jiang-xiong has exactly no sense of subtlety, which means there’s no way that he won’t make a gigantic stink on the way, and that means that Wei-xiong will hear about it and be heading here, too…in his own style.”
Nie Mingjue groaned.
(Little Nie Mingjue excitedly mimicked him.)
“Yes, da-ge, he’s probably going to blow something up, especially if anyone tries to lock him away somewhere, if you know what I mean. And an explosion of that magnitude will draw everyone’s attention, even er-ge, who probably didn’t even notice the time travel from his stupid little seclusion house, and then he’ll know that he needs to come here, too. And once they’re all here, there’s a very nice, very straightforward fix to every single one of our problems.”
“This is such a terrible idea,” fierce corpse Nie Mingjue muttered. “Even worse than tricking everyone you care about in the cultivation world to take a one-way trip back in time so that you can get access to the one person who has both enough power and enough skills in arrays to restore my sense of taste.”
Wait. Was that why they’d all gone back in time?!
(Was Nie Huaisang going to share? Wen Ning would like to taste things again.)
“Stop complaining,” Nie Huaisang said. “And stop underestimating the brilliance of my plan! I’m going to use the time anomaly to have Sect Leader Wen restore you to life, not just your taste.”
Okay, assuming Wen Ning was also getting in on that deal, he was officially no longer complaining.
Their future was terrible. Who needed it?
Listen, Wen Ning had grown up under his uncle’s tutelage, and his uncle had once been the most brilliant cultivator alive. He knew enough to figure out that – if you ignored his airy and almost certainly sarcastic words about wanting to be born – Nie Huaisang intended to use the untapped potential of their own future supposed-to-happen births to power an array that would bring a future corpse or two back to life. Sure, it meant that Wen Ning would probably never be born, but that was fine: if he had toddler Nie Mingjue’s age right then Wen Qing had already been born, and that’s more of what he cared about.
Actually, if he thought about the time and the ages, Jiang Yanli was likely already on the way, and Lan Xichen would have been only a few months off from being conceived. If Nie Huaisang really wanted to generate a lot of potential-time-bending power, he could interfere with those births as well – all he needed to do was prevent the future Madame Lan from marrying her husband! – and then, well…
Hmm. He’d still need to find a leverage point to anchor them to the timeline, though.
That had always been his uncle’s complaint about the time-manipulation array: he’d been able to use it to keep his own age permanently locked at his late twenties, but he hadn’t been able to really change anything because permanent time travel required there to be a second anchor point outside of the time, and that was impossible.
Eh, it was Nie Huaisang, and he’d already claimed his plan was ‘brilliant’. Surely he’d accounted for that?
“How bad are we talking here?” Lao Nie asked.
Nie Mingjue looked resigned. “A-die, you’re going to love it.”
Lao Nie looked excited.
Lan Qiren looked concerned. Wen Ruohan looked…mostly still murderous, but with a mildly curious edge, in a way that was weirdly not entirely unlike that mostly feral cats Wen Ning used to feed behind the Nightless City.
(It was so weird for Wen Ning to see his uncle back to the mostly-still-a-human-being self he’d once been. He was actually not awful about his murderous impulses, which were mostly reasonable and not absolutely insane. He was the fun uncle again. It was terrible.)
“Would you like to share your solution?” Wen Ruohan drawled. “You have one chance to outbid ‘kill them’ in the ranking order in my mind, so I suggest you use it well. Going once, going twice…”
Terrible.
Nie Huaisang laughed and snapped his fan shut.
“I can do that,” he said confidently. “It’s called ‘we make things worse to make them better’. Now, I believe, in this time period, you would already be familiar with the lady called Cangse Sanren…?”

My name is Cinna! I am 21+! Welcome to my stinky, bird infested corner of the hellverse RPC. The main thing you need to be aware of about me is that I am autistic and exceptionally ✨️ mentally ill ✨️! This will affect my activity on the dash but also in DMs. I am notoriously bad at keeping in touch OOC. Please don't take it personally, it is 100% a me issue. I think you are all very lovely, I am just like one of those tiny overly anxious dogs, if you look at me for too long I will vibrate off of this plane of existance.
Major trigger warning for the following topics:
Religious trauma, toxic relationships (romantic, familial, work), physical/psychological/sexual abuse, social stratification, depictions of panic attacks and hallucinations, drug abuse, cannibalism/desecration of corpses, graphic violence and gore
Plot heavy interactions will always be prioritized over more casual, slice-of-life type threads. The latter tends to loose my attention fairly quickly.
Interactions with mains and affiliates will also be prioritized. These are the people who have dedicated real time and effort into building engaging dynamics/storylines with me.
Main verse¹ and main verse² will generally be prioritized over secondary and private verses, simply because that is where my hyperfixation lies most of the time.
All of my verses are single ship, excluding main verse². If our muses really hit it off I am open to setting up a private verse for our ship.
That being said Lute is exceptionally difficult to ship with, so I don't put much emphasis on romance on this blog. If she flirts with your muse it does not necessarily mean that I want to ship with them. 9 times out of 10 it is a manipulation tactic.
I don't write a lot of explicit sexual content and i am extremely, extremely picky about who i engage in that sort of stuff with. If I do write something like that with you it does not give you the right to be gross to me OOC. I am not interested in you sexually. Have some common decency.
Leave your drama at the door. I'm not interested in seeing your callout post. I have zero patience for that shit.
Minors will be tossed into the pit.
Thank you for reading my rules! This page will be edited and expanded upon as I see fit!

joe and sophie were one of those stories where they got engaged really early on in their relationship. they became a couple in 2016, they got engaged in 2017 but didn’t end up actually getting married until 2019.
once they were married, we soon have the pandemic. and during the pandemic sophie was pregnant with their first daughter. during that time, they were reportedly happier than ever. which makes sense bc of the baby. their first daughter was born in july of 2020 and their second daughter would also be born in july of 2022.
one thing that i found interesting is how joe would describe their relationship. not interesting in a bad way but something admirable. he always said that sophie was a really understanding and empathetic person, which he never experienced before.
sophie was able to save him in that way. sophie has been public and fought for mental health. joe wrote a song about her called “hesitate” which basically just highlights the sacrifices they will always make for each other. it’s actually a beautiful song lol.
another thing that you can possibly take away from, i don’t remember the exact details but when they got married in france (their official ceremony bc they did a fun vegas wedding for their legal certificate in the US) apparently they broke up for a couple of hours. the classic anxiety and panic — which can already be telling — but they talked it out and married confidently.
i think it’s important to note the history of joes family, his parents are still married and his brothers are married. i think he holds that sacred too. i think there was a time publicly where joe’s parents admitted to having bad time in their marriage but sticking it out.
last thing: joe and sophie are notoriously private. especially since their engagement. we’ve obviously seen them share photos of each other but it’s also at a certain time and selective. we don’t really know anything about their relationship. sophie rarely uses her social media.
lol i love tomdaya but i do have a side project with joe and sophie. they are cute and match personalities and we’ll see what happens bc at tonight’s concert he was wearing his wedding ring but 🤷🏽‍♀️
fyi; sophie is bi
sorry for ramble haha
Thanks Anon for more about their backstory. I keep forgetting that Sophie was like 20 when she and Joe started dating, and he was like 27. They started dating in 2016. I think because Sophie looks so "mature", you kind of forget that she was actually quite young when she first started dating Joe. And then, to get engaged after only a year of dating?? Whew...... Idk man.... lol. 😳Especially when you're THAT young?? That's pretty YOUNG to be engaged at 21 imo. 👀 You're still growing and learning about yourself imo.
They definitely seemed to have somewhat of a whirlwind romance. Having kids RIGHT after marriage is also kind of not such a good idea, because the couple hasn't had time to really adjust as a married couple for years yet. Idk... I just think it's best to wait a while as a married couple before bringing kids into the picture...IF you can. JMHO
another thing that you can possibly take away from, i don’t remember the exact details but when they got married in france (their official ceremony bc they did a fun vegas wedding for their legal certificate in the US) apparently they broke up for a couple of hours. the classic anxiety and panic — which can already be telling — but they talked it out and married confidently.
Ooop.... Maybe that there was a sign lol...👀
Btw, never knew they got married in VEGAS! lol

I don't think I knew this. Or, if I did, maybe it escaped my memory.

At first glance, the Silicon Valley Bank debacle seems to be a cut-and-dried financial caper. The executives running the 16th-largest bank in the US made the wrong choices in handling what seemed a fortuitous situation—a roster of clients, flush with venture capital funding, handing over billions of dollars of cash for storage in the institution's coffers. But the bank’s leaders misjudged the risks of higher interest rates and inflation. Pair that with a mini tech downturn, and the bank’s spreadsheets began turning colors. When word of its perilous situation got out, panicky depositors pulled their money. After a government takeover, everyone’s money was safe.
But although no depositor lost money, the saga looks like a traumatic event whose consequences will linger for months, or even years. Things happened that we can’t unsee. The SVB saga reminds me of what my wife, a true-crime reporter, says when people ask why she finds murder stories so interesting. A killing, she’d say, reveals the previously private, shrouded actions that define the way people live. In the course of investigating the crime, lives that looked ideal from the outside are exposed as unmade beds of secrets and lies.
Start with the bank. As has been widely reported—only now with a critical eye—Silicon Valley Bank was not only the bank of choice among Silicon Valley companies, but an ingratiating cheerleader for startup culture. The VCs and angels funding new companies would routinely send entrepreneurs to the bank, which often handled both company accounts and the personal finances of founders and executives. SVB would party with tech people—and vintners, another sector they were deep into. Some bankers had wine fridges in their offices. Salud!
Normally, you’d have to hold my family hostage before I became a banker—I picture the buttoned-up prig who hired Mary Poppins. But I might think differently if banking were a world of parties, high-end Cabernets, and elbow-rubbing with universe-denting geniuses who keep millions in the bank and take out mega-mortgages. By all accounts, SVB shared and perhaps amplified the freewheeling vibe of the swashbucklers it served. This is not what you necessarily want from a fiduciary. And as we learned this week, SVB’s CEO reportedly indulged in one of the worst things a founder can do—selling off stock when trouble lies ahead.
When that trouble arrived, we also learned a lot about the investment lords of the Valley who give founders the millions they need to move fast and make things. As word began to leak of SVB’s weaknesses, VCs who style themselves as tech’s smartest people had a choice: help bolster the financial partner holding the industry’s assets or pull funds immediately. The latter course would trigger a panic that would assure disaster for the startup ecosystem—but not you, because you were first in line.
Despite years of talk about how companies in the tech world are united in a beneficial joint mission, some of the biggest players went into self-preservation mode, essentially firing the starting pistol for a bank run. One notable bailout leader was Peter Thiel’s Founders Fund, which got an early sense of SVB’s troubles and advised all its companies to get out ASAP. As word spread, a classic bank run took shape, with other VC firms urging pullouts, until it was impossible to connect online with SVB to move funds. By the time a group of VCs came together to pledge support for SVB, its virtual doors were shut. In the mad rush to the lifeboats, hundreds of companies were stranded on deck. When the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) took over Silicon Valley Bank last Friday, with all activity frozen, those whose holdings in the bank far exceeded the $250,000 limit on insured accounts truly faced the abyss.
I get it—saving one’s own skin is human nature. But in the future, let’s go easy on hyping the camaraderie of tech.
And what did the Valley’s rugged individuals do when oblivion loomed? They begged for a government rescue, of course. It’s hard not to empathize with some of the rank and file tech workers, many of them far from California, who wouldn’t be able to meet their bills. And indeed, there were some acts of generosity, as investors extended loans to their portfolio companies. But the loudest voices urging bailouts didn’t seem to be those most in jeopardy, but super-rich investors and speculators likeself-described angel investor Jason Calacanis, PayPal mafia billionaire David Sacks, and Machiavellian hedge fund magnate Bill Ackman, bombing Twitter with over-the-top pleas to rescue depositors.
Their case was that if depositors didn’t have immediate access to their funds, SVB’s woes might be “contagious,” setting off a wider bank panic. A reasonable concern. But it’s unlikely these pundits would have made the same arguments if the institution in question were some regional bank of similar size in the Midwest. Some people arguing for a federal bailout had previously opined that the government should keep its tentacles away from the innovative geniuses of the Valley.
The spectacle is particularly ironic because a huge part of startup lore is not just accepting risk but embracing it. We hear endlessly of the bravery of entrepreneurs who step into the breach and put millions of dollars in jeopardy, hoping to buck the dismal odds of creating a difference-making company that, by the way, makes its founders ludicrously wealthy. It’s part of the game to lose your investor’s money and a couple of years of your life because you felt that a $400 juice machine would be the next iPhone.
Now those noble risk-takers were demanding retroactive protection—because tech-company money was unavailable due to a totally avoidable risk. Any idiot knows that FDIC covers only $250,000. So why did so many firms store all their assets in uninsured accounts in a single bank? You might give a pass to naive founders who blindly accepted the recommendation of their funders to use Silicon Valley Bank. (Though maybe not to big companies like Roku, which had $487 million on deposit in SVB.) But what’s the excuse of those who did the recommending? Did they notice that SVB executives actively lobbied to avoid stringent regulation? Or that for eight months, SVB failed to replace its retired chief risk officer? Did they understand that an entire startup monoculture patronizing one bank made a huge industry dependent on a single point of failure?
Meanwhile, less verbose investors and VCs quietly worked behind the scenes on convincing the FDIC to guarantee all deposits. One of the Valley’s top seed investors, Ron Conway, reportedly even got Vice President Kamala Harris on the phone to hear his plea for a depositor bailout. The case they made for protecting funds from a maximum $250,000 to, well, infinity, was a more refined version of what the Twitter panics-spreaders were saying: It would stem a collapse in the tech sector and calm people all over the country who were suddenly worried about their own banks’ stability. (It would also mean that from this point forward, holding to the limit is indefensible.) It’s not clear whether the lobbying affected the actual decision. But the attempts were unseemly, an unattractive display of the power of this massive industry.
So what has been uncovered in the week since we learned that Silicon Valley Bank was no more trustworthy than a crypto spam text? A startup culture once considered the gem of the economy has been exposed as careless with its money, clueless in its judgment of character, hypocritical in its ideology, and ruthless in exercising its political clout as a powerful special interest. Meanwhile, the financial world is still jittery, with other banks failing and just about everyone wondering what comes next. And from here on, the concept of a cap on FDIC insurance is at risk. But at least the SVB credit cards are working again. And VCs can take a victory lap as they brag about how they saved the day.

🦇Synopsis🦇
“Nothing good ever came without sacrifice. Some of us just found clarity in the darkness of those shadows.”
*
Nyx Monroe grew up with terrifying tales of golden-eyed beasts with nightmarish fangs and murderous tendencies but as time passed, she forgot about them, convinced they were just scary stories. When her father, Azeil Monroe, is hired to privately investigate the murders plaguing the coastal city of Celacali, it’s a chance at a fresh start.
However, Nyx discovers everything is not what it seems beneath the veneer of the popular tourist location, also known as the City of the Dead. Something dark resides there—death and carnage reincarnate.
Plunged into the city’s shadows, Nyx stumbles into the open arms of notorious Orion, Kotori, Niko, and Kade—the boardwalk is their blood-stained domain.
They’ve been waiting for twenty-five years to exact their revenge for a debt long overdue, luring Nyx and her father back to where it all began. Whilst they distract Azeil with one murder case after the other, their focus shifts to Nyx.
Soon, there’s nowhere left for her to run—to hide—from the true beasts of legend, or from the darkness of her past.

MAFIA BACKSTORY #1
Tumblr media Tumblr media
KIM JENNIE
• Well where do we start
• Kim Jennie grew up in a very VERY rich family.
• They owned many businesses, and not just in Seoul. A few in Paris and a few in Germany as well.
• Her father, Kim Baekhyun leader of the Kim Clan, was always traveling, meaning where he went jennie followed, she was rarely in school but already had one of the best teachers, him.
• Jennie’s father always taught jennie that she was different, that she was special. Whenever she had time to attend school, she was always the it girl.
• She attend some schools, of course all private and some of the hardest to be accepted to. Jennie was never social though, she had “friends” but never spoke or shared anything about herself
• But to be honest, Jennie hated school she already knew everything she needed to know and was ahead of everyone anyways, so it was a waste of time to her. Her parents would only stick her in school when they had a big important mission or would be traveling for awhile.
• While at one of the schools, she noticed a student that was just like her, secretive and quiet. He was also dressed in rare designer pieces so she knew for sure he was different then everyone else.
• “hey” she said approaching him out in the courtyard after school, the boy slightly shuddering from the sound of her voice. Jennie chuckles under her breath, although he looks tough she will have him whipped by the end of the week.
• “I didn’t mean to scare you” she giggled stepping closer with a softened expression in order to make him feel warm and at ease. The boy smiled “oh u-um hi! S-Sorry I just uh I’m new and I don’t know anyone yet” he chuckled awkwardly “uh what’s your name?” He added.
• she giggled taking a seat next to him, “it’s okay, my name is Yuna” she lied with a soft smile “I know what it feels like to be new, you’re not from here I take it?” she questioned, slightly arching a brow.
•”No my family just moved here, t-they have a business here a-and are in town for a nee project” she smirked lightly, she could already see right through him and knew his statement was just a coverup.
• “How interesting, what business?” She asked with a “innocent smile, noticing how the question made him panic internally. His eyes widened and his palms were sweaty. Jennie almost felt bad for him, but soon grow bored as she waited for his answer.
• “Well I guess it doesn’t matter” she said changing the subject, “What’s your name?” She asked looking in his eyes. Jennie found our his name was Jinyoung, after speaking with him for a few more minutes she found out enough info to do some digging on him and his family.
• After being chauffeured home, Jennie looked through her father’s files since he wasn’t home and found out he is apart of the notorious Choi family, her dad’s biggest enemy. They have been vendettas for as long as Jennie can remember, Jennie didn’t know exactly what happened but she knew that Jinyoung’s father betrayed hers resulting in the death of her mother.
• Jennie thought about it, if she was able to manipulate Jinyoung she could organize a hit to take down his family, it was perfect. If her plan was successful, she’d prove to her dad that she can be the new leader after all.
• For the next few months, Jennie continued to get closer with Jinyoung, gathering any info she got get on his family. Jennie made it subtle though, making she he wouldn’t catch on to her intentions.
• From the other side though, Jinyoung was completely in love with Jennie. She was so sweet, funny and caring towards him, she made him feel safe and could himself more. He’s been able to make more friends because of Jennie.
• Jinyoung was so in love he finally had decided to introduce her to his family, which made Jennie excited, she was finally gonna be able to execute her plan.
• “She is the top student in our class, and is on track to graduate early” Jinyoung explained while his family and Jennie sat at the dinner table in his father’s mansion. Jennie smiled at them but had daggers in her eyes. The man that caused her family so much distress all those years ago was sitting right in front of her.
• Jennie glanced at the clock, it was almost time. Before dinner she had told the red squad the time and address, “Well it’s getting late, my parents will be angry if stay out any longer” she smiled “but everything was delicious, thank you” even though she barely touched her food.
• “But I’m sure you don’t mind, I suppose traders need their sleep too” she added making his parents smile drop. Jennie smirked slightly scoffing “oh don’t act surprised Mr.Choi, you knew this would come back to haunt you” she added chuckling lightly.
• Jinyoung’s father already knew what she was talking about, although he never expected this, “What a shame, I really did like Jinyoung too” she sighed looking over at the boy who had a terrified expression which made her chuckle, the soft look she once had for him was now a more dark cynical stare.
• “I must take what you took from me though” she said with a taunting tone in her voice her eyes leaving his father’s to signal her men “double that” she added before giving them a nod, queuing two of her men to come up from behind Jinyoung’s mother and father to slit their throats while Jennie pulled her glock and point it at Jinyoung.
• The poor boy screamed in terror, crying as he watched his parents bleed out, “Im sorry Jinnie” she cooed kissing his tears away, the boy too paralyzed to even flinch. Jennie smiled, the look of innocence draining from his face made her smile, “but you are a witness, and as my dad always says” she took the safety lock off, “leave no trace behind” she added before sending a bullet into this head.
• Jennie smiled in content at the three corpses that laid before her, it was cruel which she knew but revenge is so much sweeter, “clean this up and pack their bodies, we’re going to my dads warehouse” she ordered her men.
• Baekhyun actually wasn’t waiting for her but was in a middle of a trade before Jennie interrupted him “Why the hell are you here?” he spat angrily since Jennie knows better than to interrupt one of his trades. “Oh hush up, that’s no way to treat the person who just took down your enemies” she spat back, her father furrowing his brows which made her roll her eyes.
• Jennies snapped her fingers and her men carried in three body bags, dropping them and unzipping the seams to reveal the Choi family. Baekhyun was shocked, the one thing he wanted to years was revenge, he was upset at how easily jennie was able to execute the plan all by herself but was also revealed they were dead.
• Jennie explained her whole plan, and already knew how she would sweep all this “under the rug” “impressed? I know, besides I only learned from the best” she smiled “But this isn’t for free, with our family nothing is as you know daddy” she chuckled “I want your position and for you to stop treating me as a trophy” she smirked
• Baekhyun wasn’t shocked though, he knew jennie has wanted his title for a long time now, but he always said no, not because he felt like she wasn’t worthy but because he knew she was all he had left and if something ever happened to her, he’d go mad.
• But alas, it was time to except that was no longer little and naive, she was more clever than he ever was “okay” he agreed with a small smile “you’re ready”.
• Ever since she’s been living a life of luxury, traveling anywhere anywhere she wants and has expanded her team and inventory. Jennie was truly happy and wasn’t going to let anyone take it away from here.

Digimon Survive headcanons - Kaito as an adult
Tumblr media
An extension and elaboration of my first post on the Survive gang 15 years later
Age: 29 Profession: rock star
-For as long as he can remember, Kaito always had a hard time making friends. And for him, making six close human ones and a close Kemonogami one along the way is enough friends for a lifetime. Especially since he became famous, Kaito is very good at sniffing out bullshit from people who want to get chummy with him just because of his fame. He’s all about keeping it real and values his friends who’ve stuck with him through thick and thin, despite his flaws and difficult attitude.
-In the early years as Kaito’s music career picked up momentum, a few guys tried to form a band with him. Those attempts quickly fell apart due to many disagreements, disputes, and Kaito's short fuse. No one but Dracmon is truly in sync with him, and since that realization Kaito is adamant about not performing with anyone else.
-In his early twenties, Kaito struggled under the stress and pressure of international fame, and fell into smoking cigarettes and drinking excessively. He’d gotten into trouble once for driving while intoxicated, and twice when he got into a fistfight at a club. Trying to get his shit together, he checked himself into rehab. He’s been sober since and now swears off drinking. He’s still trying to quit smoking.
-Since journeying through the Kemonogami world, Kaito has been better about giving Miu the space she needs and tries hard not to coddle her. He’s still a worrywart when she makes public appearances at conventions. Since Minoru also likes to show up at those conventions, Kaito would discreetly tell him to keep an eye on Miu.
-Kaito frequents the local Buddhist temple, where he can meditate and clear his head to try getting his anger management and anxieties under control.
-Kaito keeps to himself and is notoriously private about his personal life. The only people who can really keep tabs on him is the Survive gang, and only because he lets them. Unlike his sister, he does not have any social media and refuses to partake in it. While he 100% supports Miu's career and influence on social media, he thinks it'd do him more harm than good to be on it himself. Kaito knows he's difficult to deal with, and being on social media would just be fuel to the fire.
-Kaito enjoys performing in front of faceless crowds, but he doesn't do well with fans one on one. His social battery doesn't run long at all; meet and greets for photos and autographs are the bane of his existence. Ironically enough, his aloof, gruff manner makes him very popular with the girls.
-His first tattoo is Dracmon (to the surprise of absolutely no one). Dracmon likes to say how flattered he is to have his handsome face inked into Kaito’s skin forever.
-Kaito finds unlikely common ground with Aoi when he learned that she enjoys classic rock. His idea of fun during a reunion with his friends is to hit up a karaoke bar, and Aoi is his favorite singing partner as they jam to classic rock together. Before she left to study and live in the UK, her trips to karaoke with Kaito attracted great interest from the paparazzi. Tabloids spread rumors that they were dating, when they’re in fact just good friends hanging out to decompress and have fun.
-Out of everyone in the group, Takuma is the one Kaito feels the most comfortable around. Most of the time Kaito just wants someone who can lend an ear to his worries, anxieties, and frustrations, and Takuma is the right person for the job. He highly respects and greatly trusts Takuma. Since breaking his knee from the Kemonogami protest, Takuma was granted the same level of protectiveness as Miu, and since then Kaito makes sure to accompany him anywhere there could be trouble or danger.
-Dracmon became interested in drums since attending some live concerts of Kaito's favorite bands. Kaito enrolled Dracmon in drumming lessons and he picked it up with alarming speed. Soon Dracmon became the drummer who always performs alongside Kaito.
-Kaito owns a motorcycle that he and Dracmon share. The first Kemonogami to get a driver's license, Dracmon occasionally takes the motorcycle for a spin as Beelzemon.

Ok I completely forgot that Chapel momentarily housed Spock's consciousnesses and both parties were pretty okay with it.
Makes me wonder if we're going to semi-intimate mind meld in SNW that allows them to have a "we've done similar things and it was fine before" mentality.
Also there's a possibility they shared the same body because the orbs that held consciousness was destroyed. Or not idk.
Either way Spock is a very private person and IDK that he'd willingly inhabit a body that was not his even to save his life unless it was the only possible option left. It leads me to believe that they may not have fallen out as much as we tend to think and maybe possibly they were mentally intimate at some point SNW era.
(Return to Tommorow)
Oh my god I just wanna say that Return To Tomorrow is straight up one of if not my FAVORITE original series episode!!
Time To Get MESSY :D
I definitely think with the way things are going story wise with SNW there’s a high probability Spock will meld with Chapel out of necessity at some point. Drama and romantic tension absolutely demand it.
I don’t think Chapel and Spock’s “falling out” is necessarily gonna be a big fight or one doing something super awful to the other. I think it’s going to be more of a:
One of them gets a little too close to the threshold from friends to something more intimate, and the other has to put their walls up. More specifically I think it’s going to be Spock drawing the line, Chapel respecting that. OR! Chapel drawing the line like “I don’t want to come between you and your fiancé and us being friends is doing that”, Spock gets doubly rejected :(, and Korby is Chapel’s bounce back guy XD.
I’m actually gonna go so far as to say that she’s going to be caught up specially in the Sybok-Stonn-T’Pring-Spock-Angel mess that feels like is brewing thanks to The Serene Squall.
The Mess:
Spock is engaged to T’Pring
Spock has romantic tension with Chapel
Spock was manipulated by Angel (which I feel has hints of Spock having found their Dr. Aspen persona attractive)
Spock is Sybok’s half-brother
T’Pring is eventually gonna fall for Stonn
Both she and Stonn work at the Correctional Facility where Sybok is being held
T’Pring’s first introduction to Chapel was Spock fake cheating on her with her… awkward.
Angel is vitriolic toward T’Pring and tried to exploit her weakness for Spock to get Sybok back.
Angel and Sybok are lovers
Only Chapel and Angel know that Xavierus was Sybok and that Sybok is Spock’s half-brother. (T’Pring MIGHT know but we didn’t have that indicated to us the audience).
This right here ⬆️ this is a POWDER KEG.
Angel’s probably gonna want revenge on Spock and Chapel for fucking up their plan and PROBABLY noticed the chemistry between Christine and Spock was legitimate. They’re inevitably gonna wanna exploit that.
Spock could potentially be put in a position where both Christine and T’Pring are in danger because of Angel and/or Sybok and instinctually choose Christine. Possibly Stonn going after T’Pring because I think Spock would be paralyzed with indecision if there was no possibility of someone else helping the other person.
Spock and T’Pring probably going to have increasingly divergent opinions on the ethics of penal colonies and correctional facilities as time goes on. Spock’s experiences with getting in trouble with the law have been unjust. Between being wrongfully framed for murder, his sister proving she would’ve been wasted potential with a penal colony life sentence, not to mention whatever will go down w/ Una. Whereas T’Pring’s job is to rehabilitate prisoners by enforcing Vulcan logic/idealogy on V’Tosh Ka’tur offenders… see the conflict of interest?
Sybok not only is notoriously manipulative, but has the telepathic ability to control others. Particularly by forcing them to relive their most traumatic memory, and as we know from Star Trek V, for Spock that’s his father’s disapproval of Spock’s humanity. I absolutely could see him playing some serious mind games with Spock. Especially this younger, more emotionally vulnerable, self-questioning version of him.
It may not be the losses of Michael and Pike, or his estrangement from Chapel & T’Pring that drives him to despise his emotions and his humanity, but instead, Sybok using them and turning him against his friends.
It could be Spock has chosen to reject emotion because it was emotion that allowed Sybok to control him. It would track for his deep seated fear of his own anger, and for his “this memory you’ve conjured can no longer hurt me.” comment to Sybok when Sybok tries to control him in Star Trek V.

OMFG I AM dying for a world where these 2 aren’t together!!! I desperately need a respite from MM. not come across anyone as narcissistic, manipulative, crass & vulgar as she is. She even lowered H to her level, he who was brought up with all the refined decorum of a Royal Prince & a member of the most elite family in the world. Still can’t get over how she keeps pushing him away at every turn, ensuring she greets the VIP first & when he stands up for women when they enter a room, she LEGIT PULLS HIM AWAY/DOWN. Has she got no basic manners??? Or is this too the BRF’s fault??
Well, I think Meghan is at the end of the road professionally. She’s doing a meet ‘n greet in Indianapolis, Indiana, in a few weeks. Can’t wait to read the chatter about that mess. Because I have no doubt it’s going to be a mess.
The Megxit situation happened shortly before Saturn changed signs from (sidereal) Sagittarius to Capricorn in January 2020. It’s changing again in January 2023 from (sidereal) Capricorn to Aquarius. H&M had already moved to Canada a couple of months prior to their official announcement in November 2019. It makes sense that Harry is already separating himself from Meghan in the public sphere, even though many people are seemingly oblivious to it. The previous two Veterans Days in 2020 and 2021, H&M were obviously together in their media moves. They couldn’t be more separate right now, except that many people don’t want to see it.
It’s interesting reading the comments of the reddit user who is connected to all the Hollywood gossip. She relates to a lot of the mental torture Harry has been put through with her ex-husband who also is a narc.
Harry routinely looks like a man trapped into or gaslit in Meghan's lies. He didnt lie about 3 day early wedding with Oprah. She did. He neither confirmed nor denied, And he started looking uncomfortable, clutched a chicken, and got into a fetal position. He did not lie about family racism. She was interviewed by Oprah for hours first and when he came out and was asked, he was blindsided. He got angry, said it happened before the engagement (already contradicting Meghan, and he would not answer any more questions about it.
[and]
Again, not 100% sure it's true, though I have it on good authority, but just wanted to add that that is a powerful moment for the victim of a narcissist: when other people validate that what you have been seeing and hearing is actually true, and that the narcissist is truly the one in the relationship who is disturbed.
Unless someone has been in a relationship with a narcissist or is aware of the narcissistic dynamic, it is hard to understand Prince Harry's sudden change in personality, betrayal of his family, and the sudden change in his memory of past events (like that it was Meghan who first got him into therapy, when he's on tape pre-Meghan saying it was William and Catherine, and that Diana was killed because she was dating a man of color just like Harry is with a woman of color that he believes they are trying to kill [or will not stop until Meghan is dead]). Narcissists can get you so mindfucked that it's hard to know what's real. I am a very strong-minded somewhat intelligent person who often fought back against the lies, and it took me a while to get deprogrammed. I can't imagine how easy it would be and how much more confused a narcissist could make a weakminded, damaged, and notoriously unintelligent man like Harry.
[and]
Everything that happens like this, he likely gets yelled at for by her until he himself is angry and starts complaining to shut her up. Notice she's never pictured looking anyway but smiling while harry looks more and more ready to implode. Narcs behave rabidly in private this to make you look sullen and ragey in public. Then they use the photographic record to tell you you're the one with the chip on your shoulder and that they are just trying to get on with things but you wont let it go. Meanwhile the opposite is happening.
So, Harry’s mental state is probably going to need a lot of therapy in the coming months. An deprogramming. And frequent flier miles between the UK and California to see his kids.
