You’ve got to forgive yourself for being traumatized and needing to learn how to function again.
Recovery isn’t always nightmares and depression, it’s forgetting to eat, being scared of what others might see as completely normal things, it’s getting random panic attacks, not knowing how to take care of yourself, not knowing how to live like an adult, even if you’re twenty, thirty, forty, fifty, of feeling like you’re failing to function in a world where everyone seems to have their shit together.
If you need help, ask for it. Go to forums and ask for advice. Take advantage of community resources. Buy pre-sliced veggies and fruits, eat instant meals if you can’t cook for yourself today. Hire someone. Ask a neighbor for a favor. Buy any item you think might make life easier, even if you feel like you aren’t ‘disabled’ enough to have it.
Some of the depression posts (ie open your windows, take a shower, go outside, call a friend) are really helpful but they’re not always enough. I’ve found advice for spoonies, people with chronic pain or other disabilities have the best tips because they know what it’s like to be bedridden, out of energy, stuck in a brain fog.
You may never return back to the energy you had when you were younger and you might always need to use crutches to help you through life. It’s the same with medication.
Trauma is a real thing that happens to you, it physically alters your brain and it’s alright to have lasting scars.
You’re not broken, your life is not over and you can still be happy.
It’s not your fault.

My mom started watching Better Call Saul and she learned the term “rizz” somewhere and now all she keeps saying is “Saul has rizz” and “Chuck hates him because he has rizz”

anyway um. shoutout to disabled people who move their bodies in ways that are considered "wrong" or "abnormal" regardless of the cause or how it's classified. and this isn't limited to just ambulation.
paralysis. dystonia. gait abnormalities. people with muscle weakness and/or atrophy. people with brain damage. rotational differences. clubfoot. knocked knees. other limb and bodily differences. functional deformities that affect movement. tissue contracture. muscular dystrophies. spasticity. impaired proprioception, balance, and/or coordination. chronic pain. spinal disorders. dyspraxia/DCD. apraxia. ataxia. dystaxia. tourette's syndrome and other tic disorders. conversion symptoms. tremors. neurodegenerative disease. degenerative bone diseases. joint instability. myoclonus. parkinsonism. tardive dyskenisia. various other neurological problems.
...and the list goes on.
personally i feel a bit surreal when my body not doesn't always move in the ways i want it to because that straightforward connection that's there for abled people has been disrupted in a myriad of ways. but no one is gross, ugly, or scary for being unable to move their body in ways that society considers "normal" and "healthy." no one deserves to be gawked/stared at or treated like they're subhuman because of the way their body moves.
it's okay for us to exist.

Prompt 301
Ellie, during one of her stints of what do I do with my life right now, decides to, with the help of her Original Dad-Person (Look he’s aging and she’s not and it gets less questions the older he gets if he says daughter instead of sister with how the Fentons are getting older too) creates a Boo-Tube channel. No, not a Youtube channel, those are stuck to a single dimension.
Bootube on the other hand? Due to being through the Realms (and wow is Tucker getting so much income from creating it) is interdimensional. Which is so cool honestly. And she doesn’t know what to do at first, and honestly there’s already so many travel blogs that she kind of just… decided to do something that she wished someone had done for her and her brothers and Danny when she was new to the world.
So she creates the channel CAAW: Clone Awareness, Accommodations, and Welfare. They had to learn things through trial and error, but maybe she can help someone out there learn how to find their own selves, or even help someone not melt.

not to complain abt the teens but i am developing a twitch abt how some teen-heavy fandoms seem to have extrapolated "queer coded" out to mean "i, the audience, read this character as queer" and now use "X coded" as if it's synonymous with "headcanon"
like, just. queer coding is when the creator adds elements to a character, such as mannerisms or clothing choices, to imply to the audience the character is queer without outright saying so. sometimes it's to get around censorship & sometimes it's to be homophobic and/or transphobic
if two characters' dynamic is "sibling coded" then that is an intentional choice by the creator. but also that doesn't actually hold up, conceptually, because there isn't a handy set of cultural touchstones for what a sibling dynamic looks like. and there's far less reason to imply that rather than outright state it. the same with "minor coded". what makes queer coding possible isn't that 'queer' is a descriptive term, it's that queer people have a defined culture and non-queer people have defined stereotypes. this is not true of every possible descriptive term.
nvm reading comprehension i need everyone to go take a media studies class. go watch the celluloid closet

I love Raph and haven’t said that enough so to be more specific I love that Raph is a soft boy who loves bear plushies, a gross boy who eats an assortment of things that are definitely better left alone, a smart boy who is more than capable of taking down villains through planning and fortitude alike, a strong boy who is dedicated to training his muscles and fighting prowess, a teenage boy who loves his brothers but is more than happy to tease and roughhouse with them, an angry boy who sometimes lets his anger take a hold of him to cover the fear, a gentle boy who is generous with hugs and affirmations to those he loves, a capable boy who takes on more than should ever be expected of a teenager, a good boy who just wants to be a hero and slowly comes to realize the cost of that duty, a good boy who has no reservations about putting himself in the way of harm coming to his family, a good boy who’s a great brother and son and person and deserves only the best the world has to offer.

why is black and white praised a lot?
For a pokemon game, it was unique for having an elaborate story; it took the narrative seriously, challenged various ethical questions and introduced a handful of memorable and well-written characters, such as N. The game challenged the player's opinions on the ethics of pokemon and always hammered on the ideas of parallalism; black and white, future and past, people and pokémon, truth and ideals and etc. The games were so good, they received their own follow-up sequels in the form of BW2, which took the story to another level. Generations later, we haven't seen a pokemon game that took its narrative that seriously.

honestly imo trans guys who believe in transandrophobia, especially as being perpetrated by transfems, and trans guys who disavow transandrophobia but consistently malign trans fems on here as being pedophile rapists etc are functionally the same. both presuppose an innocence and moral defensibility based on being cafab, both fundamentally view transfems as being male predators/wielding male privilege or power, and both utilise callouts, campaigns of harassment and ostracisation, and allegations of problematicity/moral degeneracy to punish transfems who dont conform to their views of how trans women should exist. 2 sides of the same transmisogynistic coin
