oh shit did you actually watch the new Murder Drones ep?
And if you did what was your favorite part
I did. It ended up not being as bad (gore-wise) as I expected and was able to watch the entire thing. :D
Anyway, as for my favorite part, definitely gotta go with the fight scene of N & Nori vs. Possessed Uzi. God, that thing was so dope; honestly gotta say it was the best fight scene of the series so far!
Outside of that fight, three lines are strong contenders, though I'm not sure which one is funniest to me.
1.) Nori: "Why is Cyn after her own murder pet? Are you stupid or something?" N: "Oh, yeah!"
2.) Solver: "Nori? You're dead!" Nori: "You're frickin' grounded!" Solver: "Angry!"
3.) N: *Insinuates that he and Uzi are dating* Nori: "Uzi Doorman! Those things killed your frickin' mother!" *Literally bitch-slaps the possession out of Uzi*
All three of those bits about killed me. (Kinda funny, they're all Nori-related moments.)
Also special shout-out to Mitchell the intern for trying to protect Yeva. That was so cute.

Between 2021 and 2023, the U.S. government conducted counterterrorism operations in 78 countries. These operations include ground combat in at least nine countries and air strikes in at least four countries during the first three years of the Biden Administration. Though the total number of countries with U.S. counterterrorism operations has decreased slightly from 2018-2020 – from 85 countries – the counterterrorism footprint remains remarkably similar to what it was under the Trump Administration.
Many U.S. military operations are not included in the report – notably, those aimed at what U.S. officials and media identify as the military threat posed by Russia and China, the focus of much current U.S. foreign policy; military bases that have housed counterterrorism operations; arms sales to foreign governments; and all deployments of U.S. special operations forces and Central Intelligence Agency operations. Further, the map does not display “military information support operations,” or “psychological operations,” which the U.S. military carries out in many countries on the map and beyond, such as in Iran. All of these are significant elements of the bigger picture of U.S. counterterrorism strategy but beyond the scope of the current data set. The map illustrates that the war launched by the United States government in response to the 9/11 terror attacks continues.

Global Counter Drone Market report
Drones may carry a very wide variety of payloads, from a few grams to several kilograms. Over the past few years, more small drones have been used for a wider range of functions. Drones are simultaneously becoming a bigger menace to privacy, public safety, and civilization. An attacker can use drones to reach any target in any place without endangering troops, and they have an ever-expanding range of applications, from weapon transporters to espionage equipment. Counter-drone technology for the detection, deterrent, and destruction of incoming drone threats must be developed and implemented in order to mitigate and eventually eradicate the impact of drones.
Counter-UAS, or C-UAS, also known as counter-drone (anti-drone) technology, refers to devices that are able to identify and/or intercept unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) while they are in flight. As drone usage rises, defense unmanned aerial system (UAS) counter technology is always changing. Concerns about the threat that drones offer in both military and civilian situations have led to advancements in C-UAS technology.
Key drivers propelling the growth of the counter drone market:
Drone detection and drone mitigation or interception are the two categories of anti-UAS solutions, according to a market analysis of the Global counter drone Market report technologies. Drones are located using a variety of drone-detecting techniques, including PTZ cameras, RF sensors, and radar. Drone detection will detect drones flying inside a protected area's border.
The escalating defense budget and the ensuing rise in military procurement are anticipated to be among the primary factors influencing the counter-drone systems market's expansion. Given that the majority of economies have made significant investments in attack drones, counter-drone systems are a crucial piece of military hardware that increases both the survivability of soldiers and the armed forces.
Factors affecting the size of the counter-drone market:
The most popular technology for detecting drones are RF and radar detection. Radar and RF detection can be used in a variety of situations, including as crowded and noisy areas, to improve airspace security. When RF and radar are used together, a multi-layered system that provides users with better coverage and protection can be built.
Market Forecast & Dynamics for Counter-Drones:
Numerous military and commercial applications already make use of counter-drone technologies. The United States military uses C-UAS systems to defend its bases abroad. Additionally becoming more and more common is the deployment of mobile and portable systems to safeguard ground units and convoys. Numerous applications of counter-drone technology are currently in place in the civilian world. In the US, C-UAS are used to safeguard airspace at airports, stadiums, jails, businesses, and major events like the Super Bowl.
Analysis of the Counter-Drone Market for Recent Advancements:
Near the Red Fort region, a counter-drone technology developed by the Indian Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has been put in place to handle any potential drone or kite threats. This technology was designed to prevent dangers posed by unidentified aerial vehicles and aerial platforms. According to DRDO officials, the technology can find and deactivate drones of any size within a 4 km range. Additionally, the technology has the potential to advance the goal of domestic technological development, which will accelerate the expansion of local sourcing.

This is a developing news story and may be updated as more information is obtained. If you value such information, please support this Substack.
On Dec. 1, a woman immolated herself with a Palestinian flag outside the Israeli consulate in Atlanta.
Now, according to the Atlanta Fire Rescue Department, the woman — referred to in their report as “Jane Doe” — is alive and “in stable condition” at Grady Memorial Hospital, where she has been since the immolation.
After repeated requests for her name, the department stated to this reporter in an email that it “does not disclose the identities of victims”. Repeated inquiries to Grady, which is a public hospital, went unanswered. The hospital houses the Walter L. Ingram Burn Center.
“Jane Doe” is 27.
When asked if they had made any comment to tell the public that she was still alive this entire time, the official at Atlanta Fire Rescue Department said they “shared the last updated with local media via email on 12/21/23. The release stated: ‘The victim remains hospitalized in critical condition. The security guard, who attempted to assist the burn victim, has been released from the hospital.’” Several internet searches on that quote produce no results. This would also indicate that "Jane Doe" went from critical to stable condition without public notice.
Aaron Bushnell immolated himself at the Israeli embassy in Washington, D.C. on Sunday, explaining “I will no longer be complicit in genocide” and shouting “Free Palestine!” repeatedly as he burned alive. So, his case — unlike many other self-immolations including Gregory Levey, Raymond Moules, Timothy T. Brown, Malachi Ritscher and others — has received some attention. Thus, “Jane Doe” being ignored fits with the usual pattern. Bushnell is the exception — probably because he livestreamed it. See “Ignoring Immolators Lulls the Society to Sleep.”
As Bushnell was burning himself alive, an officer pointed a gun at him, barking orders as if he constituted a threat. A security guard, Michael Harris, sustained injuries working to rescue “Jane Doe” — but there were similarities, where she was actually viewed as a potential threat.
At one point, the police report for “Jane Doe” refers to it as being a case of “arson”.
Much of the media coverage and general discussion of her self-immolation in December focused on if she had done damage. The Atlanta Police Chief said: “We believe this building remains safe, and we do not see any threat here.” The Israeli government released a statement: “It is tragic to see the hate and incitement toward Israel expressed in such a horrific way.”
Police records indicate that they obtained a search warrant and entered an apartment they believed to be associated with “Jane Doe” — initially using a drone:
The drone was able to relay information as to the layout and the belongings inside. After it was deemed "safe" entry was made with bomb technicians. While clearing the apartment no improvised explosive devices were located.
The police report also noted:
During the search a Quran was found in the bedroom along with a [sic] Arabic dictionary and a Hebrew dictionary. The bedroom bookshelf contained books related to fiction and fantasy. A "Drug use for grown ups" book was on the bookshelf as well. Two journals were seized from the bedroom. A thumbdrive was seized from the bedroom as well. A laptop computer was seized from the kitchen counter. A copy of the search warrant was left in the living room of the apartment. The front door [of] the apartment was secured before law enforcement left the premises.
When pressed for more information in compliance with an Open Records Request under Georgia law, Atlanta Fire Rescue Department claimed: “There is an ongoing and active investigation for the incident in question, which is why the only releasable information has been shared via the incident report. Investigative documentation is not available for release until the investigation is closed.”

I’m very tired. you probably heard that Russia destroyed the Kakhovka Dam to slow Ukraine’s counter offensive. here’s something I didn’t quite realize: since this February, the Russians operated the dam in juuuuust the right way so that as much water would build up as possible when the snow melted and spring showers started. and then they blew the whole thing up.
40,000 people may need to be evacuated. I don’t really have the energy to say anything else right now.
Hospitallers Medical Battalion: actual angels can confirm. they’re combat-zone medical services - you know how humanitarian groups like MFS and Red Cross have to pause operations due to the Russians fucking shooting at humanitarian zones? yeah, these guys don’t pause for bullets, they fucking walk into them and they bring out anyone they can.
Serhiy Prytula Charity Foundation: you can choose from a number of various fundraiser projects here, if you’re feeling particularly picky. for those of you who balk at the idea of supporting anything military just please remember that things like vehicles and drones aren’t just for military use, they’re also for evacuation and finding the wounded and they’re fucking vital.
KSE Foundation: similar to the above, KSE has multiple projects you can choose from to donate to. looking at it right now, one of the projects with the lowest amounts of money raised thus far - despite being started in April - is Seeds for Ukraine, which will help Ukraine recover from the ecological devastation Russia has been wreaking (and with Ukraine, the countries that rely on Ukraine’s grain exports that Russia keeps trying to steal).
Come Back Alive: do these guys even need the introduction? they’re Come Back Alive. I’m kissing all of them.
United24: Zelenskyy’s brain child, and the official fundraising platform of Ukraine. Mark Hamill recommends the fundraisers for drones in particular.
UAnimals: Nova Kakhovka’s zoo got... pretty much completely swept away. all zoo residents except the birds have drowned. UAnimals has tried throughout the occupation to keep the animals safe, and they’ve been reporting on the status of the zoo. I don’t really know what to say except that I hope they’re able to save the pets and strays in the towns along the river.
You can find NGOs specific to evacuation efforts in this post; please signal boost it as well. I’ve listed them but am leaving the links for the op post.

[To be loved is to be changed. And while being married to you has changed Mihawk, it's not entirely for the better. He's a possessive and protective lover to the marrow of his bones.]
(TW for unwanted sexual comments)
Mihawk knew the name 'Shantaro' quite well. Any time you told him a story from your adolescence that revolved around borderline illegal, unethical or simply reckless adventures, Shantaro was there. The little devil on your shoulder but as reliable as a true angel.
He, however, never expected you to run into Shantaro on the odd night when the two of you can go out. Comfortably basking in your presence, Mihawk is thoroughly enjoying your undivided attention.
Until.
You're suddenly rendered speechless as you notice something - someone - over his shoulder. A wide smile spreads across your face. Mihawk is unsure whether he should rejoice with how beautiful you look or seethe, knowing that another person dared to distract you from him.
"It's Shantaro!" you squeal excitedly. "I'm sorry, love, I'll be just a moment. I haven't seen her in ages!"
Mihawk doesn't even try to stop you as you make your way through the crowd at the lounge. His watchful gaze follows your steps as you approach a stringy woman in a silver dress. A hurricane of black curls sits on top of her head. Her piercing, grey eyes notice you, suddenly widening with both surprise and happiness. The two of you engulf each other in a bone-crushing hug, silently exchanging feelings of longing towards the closest friend from younger years.
The swordsman's night, however, is about to get even worse as he hears someone behind him whisper:
"She's a minx, that foxy wife of yours."
He turns around with his jaw and fists clenched. Mihawk's enraged gaze meets the face of an amused man who is casually sipping on his drink. There's a glint in the stranger's eyes that makes the swordsman's skin crawl - he wanted to get under Dracule's skin.
"Don't look so surprised," the stranger reprimands him. The man must have mistaken Mihawk's baffled expression at the bold words for genuine surprise that someone put two and two together. Truthfully, he couldn't care less whether people know that he's married. "Many pirates get hard fantasising about having their way with the Warlord's wife." Judging by the way the man licks his lips and hides a certain hunger behind his eyes, it's clear he's part of the aforementioned group. "But the Warlord himself? Unfortunately for him, she turns him soft," he drones the word as though it's a serious insult.
"Yes, she does," Mihawk answers slowly.
The events that followed happened exceptionally fast: Mihawk reached for the stranger's neck and slammed the man's head against the bar counter. Curiously, people happening to be in their vicinity carry on as though nothing bizarre is happening - they are smart enough not to get in Dracule Mihawk's way, especially when he is visibly upset.
Blood is gushing from the strange man's forehead, his eye already beginning to swell and change colour. The swordsman tilted his victim's head back just enough to lean down and growl. "Which is why I'm going to kill you much faster than you deserve for your offence."
Mihawk glances in your direction. You're still occupied, excitedly telling Shantaro about the years after you've last met her.
He'll be done before you notice him gone.
