Absolutely obsessed with how INSANE of a character a warden by the time of awakening would be. Wakes up in the Architect's cell like ''don't worry everyone, this isn't the first time I've woken up half naked in a torture dungeon''. Gets trapped into the fade again, ''well at least no demon is trying to feed on our souls while we're here this time.'' ''Yes the deep roads suck but at least be glad you'll never have to know what a werewolf den smells like'' ''Nobles scheming up an ambush to assassinate me? Aww that's how I met my husband!'' When told that saving Amaranthine is a suicide mission they could honest to hell just laugh and say ''Really? And there isn't even an Archdemon!''

So I’m using a lock bash mod but the skill check keeps triggering Nate to offer to pick the locks for me and it’s just so funny to me bc this always happened in origins too but with Zevran (who my HOF romanced) and so now I imagine 1) My warden is reminded of how much he really misses Zev whenever this happens (which is fairly often) and 2) The very first time this happened it probably went something like this:

N: “I could get that for you.”

HOF: “Nah, I got it. Did I mention that my bf is a rogue?”

N: “Oh, so you must have learned this skill from him then?”

HOF: *lockbaSHLOCKBASHLOCKBA-*

HOF: “huh? Did you say something?”

N:

HOF: “I miss him sm :( <3”

The Templars keep telling Valo Anders is an apostate and it is their Maker given duty to bring him to fold.

Valo always answers firmly with an aggression expertly held back but a clear threat in the air, "He's mine."

He is the Warden Commander and the Hero of Ferelden and when he says his Wardens are outside of the Chantry's purview he has the conviction to stand by that claim. There is something utterly immovable, steel and powerful about Valo, and really every post-blight hero of Ferelden, that I adore. He's not an all powerful god, but he's climbed to hell and back more than once and has the scars to prove he made it. No Templar or Chantry sister will intimidate him into giving in. If they want what's his they're welcome to march into his Amaranthine fortress and take it, but short of an Exalted March I doubt they will succeed.

#valo ends up developing amaranthine into a self sustaining fortress #and begins developing contengies such as escape routes #including one that goes through the bloody deep roads #as a precaution towards the chantry but also the larger warden presence #it does not take long for there to come a rift between amaranthine and the grey wardens at large #partly due to valo's chantry politics partly because they did not love some of his choices during the blight #or rather his unwillingness to divulge certain information #valo mahariel #anders #dao #dao awakening

The "work title" is Ice and Fire but this could also be called Apostates. Cuz, they both are. In my forum roleplay the dm who plays Anders once pointed out it's quite funny that Walter (my character, on the right) has fire magic and Anders uses ice magic. So it's been on my mind for a while now, finally finished

Fun fact, if you get Anders' approval to 100% in Dao:A he's listed as Love, whereas all the others have the Friendly tag. I believe he had all of the romance specific tags actually. None of the other dao:a companions had that. Maybe it was a glitch but thinking of in-lore reasons for that has me feling very normal.

Ok Awakening ended, can we please talk about the absolute retconning they did in the final slides? Like i can understand why they did it but it makes me laugh cry and scream.

And also every fucking warden you recruit just takes their things and leave the order as if it were a summer job like guys you know the taint is forever yes? Where the fuck are you going?

Last thing: how sad is Sigrun ending with her going to her calling after her mother's death? However did she ever mention her mother? I have no idea

My theory about DA:D is that, and I'm sure some other people think this too, Solas won't be the main enemy necessarily. Just like in DA:O Awakening, how Architect wasn't the enemy he seemed to be at first . You can choose to make him so as far as roleplaying goes of course. My first thought about the new title was "oh so it's dragon age: we cornered the bald mf" but the more I think about it , the more possible my theory seems to be.
